Speaker 2 (00:58):
Bred straight and take care of it. We straight through it.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
We straight through it for those who do you know.
All right, So, the Dallas Cowboys getting ready for a
Monday night matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, trying to go
back to back in terms of wins at Jerry Rold
and trying to win three in a row. They faced
Joe Burrow, who is on a four and eighteen, but
he is a quarterback. Joe's having a good Joe's a

(01:23):
good quarterback. Joe's one of the more elite quarterbacks in
this league, might.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Be Yeah, And they have a great offense and have
great receivers, and so this is something that you know,
everybody looked at. If this streak is real, if this
is momentimum is real, beat the fourd eight Bengals and
then they say, oh, that's just the four eight Bengals,
but Bingle favored by six to four day Bengals. They
got a big offense, you know, but we also remember

(01:51):
a couple of Russia's beating Joe Burrow before. We also
remember and as Jamar Chay says, putting on social media
put out this week, Trevor on Diggs shut him down
the last time they played each other. He still has
nightmares about Trevor on Diggs shutting him down. If Cowboys
have a chance, certainly, I think Trevon Diggs coming back,

(02:12):
if he's ready to play from that growing injury, teaming
with Bland will be your best tandem that this Bengals
offense is face as far as cornerbacks concerning, and you
look at the Bingos office. They score a lot of points.
They don't protect well, they do not you know, so
I can get to the quarterback. The Cowboys have a chance,
but close it's you know, it's on that defense. Uh

(02:32):
But what people the dirty little secret about the Mingos
that people don't want to talk about it they get
so caught up into the great season. Joe Burrow is having,
the great season Jamar Chase is having and the explosion
they score on all these points, they're four and eight
because they give up a lot of points. Their defense
gets gassed. I mean, and we're talking Pittsburgh with a

(02:55):
basically a pedestrian offense scored over forty on you know,
they they give it up. And I'm not saying Cooper
Rush is gonna you know, pass for four hundred yards,
but you know you can run. You know, the Cowboys
can continue to get something from Rico o'dado and and
control the ball, make some time to play play good defense.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
They got a chance, you know, and and and really.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
That that that don't put some substance in this talk
about you know, we're gonna finish our strong. We're gonna
get build this momentum. Yeah, you you beat Washington and
you beat a bad Giant team.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
You know, you're really saying something.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I know they've been of the four and eight, but
you can carry that momentium the Monday night and beat
the Bengals. And it certainly has gonna be a lot
to do with who's coming back from injury and uh,
the Zach Martin could be back. Uh, certainly. I think
the extra days since the Giants game is gonna allow
see the Lamb get more healthy.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Uh, certainly.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I talked about the Cowboys hope that you can get
a guy like Diggs back, you know, Jake fergus take.
Jake Ferguson certainly should be back. I've commissioned two to
a concussion. Uh. So what we've seen from them, plus
the idea you're gonna get some people back, you know,
it's a been a shot off of the Cowboys going

(04:14):
to the game.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
So.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
The Bengals are having a tough season right now, and
they've been in some games that against Pittsburgh, they were
in the game. Baltimore, you were in the game. So
this is not a team that's four and eight and
just laying down. They have been competitive. They just as
you said, they don't have enough right now. And the
interesting kind of thing is you look at that line,
it's laying six. Vegas says Bengals by six in this game.

(04:39):
That's a big number.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
It's a big number because you've seen, Let's be honest,
you know, before the Washington game, the Cowboys played a
competent offense. So they've they've gotten you know, those those
offensive scored a lot of points. You know. But I
but you often believe that if you believe the defense improved,
if they believe the defense has gotten better, bleeded. Mike
has been back. They run the game. You know, that's

(05:03):
where the Cowboys bleed. But yeah, when they've played offenses
like the Giants don't have an offense.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
And for me, you're right, obviously, since as got an offense,
this is where the Cowboys offense needs to run the football.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah. No, you got to control the clock, keephim out,
keep out the field, right, the best best best defense
of good offense.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Yes, so they've got to They've got to get the
offensive line rolling in this game, get Rico Donald running.
They they've got to do that, Zekie Ellen.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Why are you bringing this up? With all due respect,
Zeke is not the running back. Ricos the running Rico
had the first one hundred yard game for Cowboy since
last year. He is the full time back. He is
the you know, the bell cow He's the guys gonna
get the ball. Why why are you bringing up seek?

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Because my we're now in December here, this is this
is the final push toward the end of the He's
are these are the last games you think we'll see
em Ezekiel in the Cowboy uniform right now?

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I mean yeah, I mean the cast at the dives
been cast of course on that you know, he only
signed a one year.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Deal, you know, and the fact that he's not playing.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
I mean, what is what I mean, what is understood
don't have to be said.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
I mean, we understand that.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
I was watching the sounds that they do the Cowboys
broadcast the great sounds from the game, and you know,
the showing all this stuff, and then I saw is.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
He oh yeah, oh yeah yeah. But you're saying that
because of past.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
You're saying that because of you know who where he
was drafted and what he's done. You're not saying that
because of what we've seen this year. Not with all
due respect, he's had a great career. He's been a
great Cowboy. You know, he has a two time Russian champ.
But this season, I think the Cowboys messed up this
season when they didn't make the offense in the running

(06:56):
game about record earlier, and I asked the coach yesterday.
You know, we talked to the coaches on Monday. You know,
why did it take y'all so long to commit to
Rico as the primary back? And I asked him, you know,
is that part of the reason because Rico has never
done it before? I mean, you go back to I
don't think he's ever been maybe going back to high

(07:18):
school and I didn't cover from high school, but I
don't think he was the workhorse back in college. Certainly
he has not had an opportunity to carry the ball
a lot here his first few years. He's been injured,
and we's been injured in back up. So you don't know,
you know, you see yet a guy runs hard and
all this stuff, but you don't know what he looks
like fifteen twenty care You don't know game after game,

(07:41):
he's never had to his body's never had to handle
that type of load, and he has an injury history.
So they were smart by saying we just not we
don't know that he can do that, and so let's
go with the committee thing because he's never been the
primary guy. You know, I think you know. And so
now we see that he has gotten better as the

(08:04):
games going along. He has gotten better as strong in
the fourth quarter as we saw against the Giants when
he gets lauthered up and gets because that's what every back.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
That's traditionally what good running backs do. Feed them and
then eventually they're gonna lean on you and lean on
you and they'll break through. But what I was leading
to ultimately when I sprought up Ezekie Elliot is I
had a conversation with somebody earlier this week and they said,
to me, does Zeke go into the Cowboys Ring of Honor?
And I said, he has not accomplished enough in my opinion,

(08:34):
to get into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. While his
first stint with the Cowboys is really good, and if
he doesn't get suspended, he probably wins three rushing titles.
But when I think about the Cowboys Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Why don't we do that. Why do we do that?
Why do people do that? Why why people do that? Well,
Jared Jared Jones has made it. I mean, it's not you,
but people. People. Jared Jones has made it clear that
all the people get bring of honor on his watch,
his Hall of Fame candidates, Hall of Fame boards, and players.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Meverison Wall wasn't even ringa bar.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
He should be, you know, but he only wants and
he put Woodson in because he want you know, but
he only Hall of Fame caliber players. Now this is
gonna get tested because they're gonna put Tony Rumo in.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
No, he shouldn't, but you're brought up Zeke okay.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
And I'm just saying that was brought to me and
Rumbo ended his careers all time leading pastors. Zeke is
not gonna holding the tire any all time rushing died
with the Cowboys. Dan might had some passing, he's not
in ring of ar and you know, so you know
there's a comman because Whitney probably going in you know
where's in, you know, and and and you know there's

(09:47):
you know, whether you and the same thing with Dez Brian.
A lot of people who want their deaths to go in.
And and I don't think des is going in, and
so I think de is in the same conversation with Zeke,
you know, in that respect, you know, and and and
there are a lot of guys you know, you think
about Tyren.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Smith, Tyron Smith. Okay, if I'm thinking in terms of
and this is just me not counting the Landry guys,
because Everson Walls, Harvey Martin, you know the guy. Those
those are three guys I think about. Boom should be in.
Most people win a Super Bowl MVP, get in. Harvey

(10:23):
Martin is the Super Bowl MVP. He's not in. Larry
Brown's Super Bowl MVP, He's not in. But when I
think of Jerry's Cowboys, if I'm looking at the list, witting,
it's the next one to get in.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Then after that, I mean Travis not getting in.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
No should he Well, I'm just saying, but he has
as many Pro Bowls, all pros as he got.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, I shouldn't get in. But I would say Jason Witten,
then Zach Martin and and Tyron Smith that those are
the only three that I think of that I said
to get it Smith into the.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Smith is mostly like it's most like it's last year.
He's on the injury reserved with Jets, and you look
at what he's done Pro bowl type. His Pro Bowls
is all pros. I don't know if he's the first ballot,
but I think he does make the Hall of Fame.
I definitely know that that Zach Martins the first ballot
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
And you know, it's interesting they might be on the
ballots together.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
They both in you know, in their careers this year
and not thinking, you know, there's a good chance that
this could be Zig's final year. I just think that
they're they're ahead of that, you know, they're ahead of
where Zeke is. I just again, he had got the
ten thousand yard rushing yards. He's not gonna get the
ten thousand rushing yards. You know. Terrell Davis, you know,
got all those yards and in a short career, but

(11:38):
he was injured, but he won two Super Bowls. You know,
look you look at those type of guys MV.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah that's for two thousand yards.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Yeah. Yeah. So again fourth overall pick loved the energy
brought to the team when he when he initially got
here that thirteen and three season. Will never forget that
magical season with hand Dak the two rushing titles.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
But he fell off a cliff.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
You know, he's the only runner back in NFL history
to have less yards per game, Yes, less yards in
each year of his career. You go back, yes, yards
per carry. If you go back at yards per carry
from sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty one, twenty two,
three twenty four, he's declined every year.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Who's come back was probably because we always see comebacks
in boxing, like we should stayed retired.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
They all just stayed retired in boxing two.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
I mean they all come back, and Larry Holmes whoever else,
they come back, you know, because the father of the
last to know, okay, the fighter of the last to know,
the Gladiators, the last to know.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
They are all the last to know.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Witner's eke. Who's what the comebacks? Which which coming around?

Speaker 4 (12:51):
I mean, neither one were good. Wouldn't coming back here?

Speaker 2 (12:55):
It wasn't good? He and then he went to Oak
I mean I went to the Raiders. I mean because
it wasn't done, because that that dumb TV career.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
I wouldn't call it that.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
It wasn't good.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
He struck an opportunity. It's Monday night football. He struck
an opportunity. I can't blame him from that. No, you
can't blame him that.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
It just wasn't him.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
He quickly figured out that.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Yes, yeah, but coming back now that just you know,
this wasn't it, you know, I.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Mean, well Jerry learned his lesson from that.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Now I don't know, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Mean there were unique, certain circumstances, both of them, unique
certain member.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
He played around with David's for a little bit. No, no,
he didn't. Just that was talking Jerry talking if he
was gonna bring him back.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
He brought him back. It's like he did. He It's
like he did with if it.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Was any substance foundation because wants to play, he lacked
he or he still want to play. If somebody decided
I'm the contract dead, would come back and play right now,
Good light to you.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
I'm just saying, I mean.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
You know, so if it was there was anything legitimacy
to it, just like Zeke, they would have got it done.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
All right, let's hit our first break here, the conversation.
You've been a part of it. Brock Hoffman, Zach Martin,

first year coach of the Aggi's former defensive coordinators, aid,
best atmosphere college football.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yep, that's what they say. What's their record at? What's
their home record? Did that place to stay? Win in there?
You know the dame when to start the season. I mean, listen,
I'm from Texas. We are from Texas. It's just the
the the noiw the false sense of self that goes

(17:37):
on down the college station.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
It's crazy Rabbit fan base.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
But the idea that they're a blue blood, the idea
that their atmosphere is something special compared to maybe a
death Valley or I mean, you know what, people are
really scared to play because there's been a house of horrors,
you know, going down to Alabama.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
The record says it's not. The record says it's not.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
And I mean you you, you little brother. It's okay,
a little brother, here's what I will save you a niggie,
you little little new brother c Q.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
We got one hundred thousand people, little brother, good job and.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Them left for the SEC to get away from Texas
and the Longhorn Network. And then first year, you gotta
show up in the SEC, and now you're doing something.
They never did. Never did go and play for the
SEC tile in Atlanta this weekend.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Never did, never did, They never did nothing of the
Big Twelve. See, their little secret is that they weren't
great in the Big Twelve. They were middle of packing
the Big Twelve.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
There wasn't one right, just one.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Yeah they wanted yeah, yeah, they snuck their back door
k State. Yeah because case they was the best team
all the year. They upset them in the championship game one.
Like you know, they didn't window outright championship yees say,
back door Kse date.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
You know that Michael Bishop team. If people thought I
was gonna play for the championship.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Got you got you okay, Hey, yeah That's all I've done.
They have not won any national titles in nineteen thirty nine.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
So your longhorns or going to Georgia, go to Atlanta
to go face the bulldogs again? Who ate you alive?
What in my pick'ems for the morning.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
News avenging that loss?

Speaker 3 (19:19):
I picked Texas.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
I just think picked Texas.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
We're a good road team. We've shown we went up
to Alabama, we went to Michigan, we went the Colletation.
You know, there's just different mentality on the road. Wearing
those icy whites, gonna be ready. Walk in your trap,
take your trap, walk in your trap, take your trap.
Excuse me, walk in your trap and take your trap.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Spiders. We were talking about, you know, the.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Young folks out there on to y'all, y'all young folks
out there TV land wherever hip this man to rap
music and rap songs and lingo, walking your trap, take
your trap, walking your trap, house, take your stash, take
your over your house.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Were walking in their trap and take in their trap.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
That's what we're doing.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
See I'm trying to you know, like Chris, Chris didn't
know that, Chris knows it.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Don't don't do Chris, don't do, don't don't help Chris,
Chris no get a little too slang for the show, sir.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
No, I got, I got, I got Texas going sark
sark this Kirby smart. I don't know how Georgia Tech
didn't take many chances they had in that game Saturday
night at Georgia to win it. Georgia is begging them
to get beat Tech just didn't want to.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Those let's to see officials helped them. They they called
flags against Georgia Tech. They shouldn't have called, and they
didn't call flags. Was gregious holding pills and that they
did not call that just I don't want to. Georgia
Tech's final touchdown to the fourth court just like it
was a gregious So so they Georgia Tech got helped.
So I'm gonna somebody made a call.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
So I'm gonna go with Texas to do something which
will be pretty interesting. The Longhorns beat Nebraska to win
the first ever Big Twelve championship, and so their first
union league they won it. And I'm gonna call for Texas,
their first year in the SEC, to win it.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
You know, I'll be interesting since you brought up Nebraska
at that time, Nebraska ran the Big Eight, I know,
the national champions.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
They were in and and they in Nebraska.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
One reason why Nebraska left because they got Maga's Texas
took over not just on the field, but in the
Big twelve Ouster everything else. Right now, George has been
running the SEC Texas and takeover like you did Nebraska.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
But George is not leaving. So George is not leaving.
So I'm gonna I'm gonna go with your boys. Okay,
I'm gonna go with your boys to go ahead and win.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Okay, I got you, I appreciate you, I got you.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
I picked them last week. I'm gonna go ahead and
go this week. So eight to Thaya chapter, Good luck
to you guys. Is your your your long horns, go
face Georgia. Yesterday someone asked Mike McCarthy about brock Hoffman,
who's played well for a injured Zach Martin, about basically,

(22:13):
Zach lose his job or you stayed with brock Hoffman,
and Mike McCarthy just chuckled, said, Zach Martin, good football player. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
I chuck led it to you know, and you know
I posed it out there the Twitter because you know
a number of people who have been raising that concern
because listen. We love. Part of the momentum is you
see young guys do things you didn't expect them to do.
And you know, we talked about the running game and
how well Rico played it was partly due because of

(22:41):
the office line and then things that were doing up
fun and then Bark Copplain was part of that and
he's nasty and people get fired up about that. And
that's our future, you know, and yeah, it could be
your future. You know, you're still trying to put the
best people on the field to win games now. And
Zach Martin has not had his best season. He's been
in the last few weeks and he's certainly even before

(23:02):
he missed a couple of games, he's been injured and
hobbled and and so there's this start process where he's hurt.
Then maybe you go with the backup. Okay, who is
healthy and full.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Of vinegar and that other thing.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Can we say that I ain't gonna say that other thing? Yeah, extra, yeah,
that that stuff in vinegar. Yeah, full of that stuff
and so and it's and it's good and it brings
some fire to the line. But if Martin is healthy
and he's ready to go, he is better than brock Offlin.
And you want your best players on the field. You know,
it's not about we well he's gonna be gone and

(23:39):
we need block for next ye know, it's about doing
the right thing and doing what's best to win games. Now.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
You want to win, You're trying to you're trying to
make December is.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
An opportunity and brockets showing you stuff that, Yeah, he
could be in the conversation for next He's already shown you.
You don't need to force him on the field in
front of someone that's better if he's healthy to do
that and to you know, make that substantial. You know,
you you you it's it's it's already there. And so
we'll see. You know, Zach is going to try to

(24:09):
practice this week and we'll see if he's ready to
go and good to go. And yeah, it's it's a conversation.
I think it's a disrespectful conversation based on Zach's career.
You know, I was talking to Marcus Lawrence last week
and I said the same thing with Zach, because Calvin
has talked about the same numb people. Well, he should
just quit, he should just why why? Yeah, why does
he want to play. You know, the season is over

(24:30):
and he's hurt, he should want to and and and
and Lawrence said, I'm not going out in.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Okay. And what people don't understand.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
I think it's that it's media types and people never
been worried, never been on the field. And if this
is his last year, I don't care what the record is.
I don't care what it looks like. Okay, I'm a
football player. Okay, this is what I do, this is
what I love to do. This is what I've done
all my life. And if these are my last days,
if these on my last games, I want to be

(25:03):
on the field. I'm not going to say what I'm
hurt and the season's over and so I'm just gonna
sit out and call it a day. If I can go.
That's not their mentality. That's not Zack Martin's mentality. You know,
if I'm healthy, ready to go and I can play,
I don't care what the record, They don't care what
the score is. This might be the last time I

(25:25):
put on a uniform. I don't want it to be
because I limped off the field. I want to be
able to walk off the field and savor these moments.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
I go back to what Bill Parcels you say. When
he was here, he said, this is my life's work. Yeah,
and that's the same for these places. It's their life's work.
So you know, just just put on a ball cap
and a T shirt and not play and just write it.
That's not what they want to do. No play with all.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Right, if you have a choice. Now, if you don't
have a choice, that's different, right, and then you can
look at the memories. But if I have a choice
and I can still go and play, I want to
milk the moments as long as I can milk this time,
the time in the locker room, been with all of
that stuff is important to them because we see all
these guys who the game was taking. Well, listen, the

(26:12):
NFL is a dirty game. It's a nasty game. As
Dion said a long time when and I made this remark,
dirty game last week. The game don't love you back. Okay,
it don't love you back. Okay, Uh, you can love
the game, it don't love you back. And I made
the remark because of one year Thomas and Josh Ball

(26:34):
or Josha Butler got hurt on great heartwarming stories. Okay, yes,
great stories of a week ago, you know, and the
win over Washington great stories and they got all the
claim and all the love, and just four days later,

(26:54):
Josh Butler says the torn the seal, y're over curric
could be off because these are you know, this is
the first ever played. He's an older player.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
We don't know what the future holds for him.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Josh Butler stuff of the knee injury. He should be back,
he should be okay, he's gonna be out a few weeks.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
But you know, it's a.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Cruel game, and you don't know when it's your last
turn to play, you know, And so to sit up
here and just be dismissive about these moments, of these opportunities,
even for a guy like Zack Martin say he should
just sit down because he's you know, it's just last now.
You can't you don't do that, you know, and you
can't do that because you know, and so you get it.
Like I said, the game don't love you back. You're

(27:32):
gonna love the game. It's a cruel game. You know.
This is not how Zack Martin envisioned when he held
down last year and took that money from Jerry and
made Jerry pay him and he's not had two good seasons,
so I mean part of him wants to, you know
again play.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Also on the offensive line, we saw Tyler Goeydon battling
interest for the last couple of weeks. Here, what do
we know right now as he gets ready for Monday
night against the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
You know, he's gonna be in the rehab group. And
that's what coach told his the other day. And and
and Tuma Dooga probably will most likely get the start,
I believe, you know. And and you know Jerry said
on the radio day he was replaced the other night.
You know he's but we still believe in the future.
Uh So, Yeah, he's had it up and down seas

(28:23):
that has been injured a lot, you know, And and
there's no reason to force him back, you know, uh,
make sure it gets healthy. And you know, you got
five games left, and you know Austin Richards is now hurt,
you know, And and so you've got to go with
more doga and and and and some uh and he'll
probably be part of that rotation if he can be

(28:44):
ready enough to play. But I don't think there will
be any drop off based on how he's played and
what he's done at the experienced level, if you have
to go with doga.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
It's been a it's been a smorga sport for the
Cowboys in the offensive line all year long. I don't
know how many people just have paid that much attention,
but it has been. It's been an issue. Last year
they had some of that, but they were able to
make it work. This year it's been a lot tougher
and a major part of that is because Zach Martin,
who for years at that right guard spot, no matter
what happened, you could depend on him, and he's battled
injuries this year and it's been a challenge for him.

(29:14):
But that's one thing for the Cowboys. If they win,
they can win against Cincinnati. They need to really establish
the offensive line, run the football, leave the clock, keep
that Cincinnati offense off the field. That's what needs to
happen for them to win this game.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Yeah. Yeah, and certainly make plays on defense when you
have an opportunity. You know, obviously not going to shut
them out, but get those key stops, get out of
the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
All right, take our final break here. Micah Parsons said
something to Clarence Hill and he's trying to live up
to it. I wonder did he call attention to it
after the Thanksgiving gay game to you, sir, He's Clarence Hill.

To media mash media Ash makes if I Tuesday got Clarence,
He'll new he struggs with you on Dallas Cowboys dot com.
Jerry Jones speaks on Tuesdays the Jerry Jones Show on
one five to three, the Fan of Flagship and he
also talks on Fridays at ten. All right, Clarence, what
acknowledged it? And hoping did mister Jones sell?

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I don't know if he was selling opian? You know,
it was classic Jerry. They asked him if you could
carry some things over from this year? Uh, first of all,
he said, They were asking about, you know, if you
don't make the playoffs, you know, could what you've seen
so far because this season be a success. And he
said no, but there are some things that you can

(32:43):
feel good about. But this season can be a success.
No one thought twent five and twin five and twenty
five was a success, you know what. People frustrated with that,
So how could this season be a success. You know,
Mike McCarthy's on a one year deal. The whole coach
staff's on the one year deals because the goal was

(33:06):
to go deep in the playoffs, probably the super Bowl
for it to be successful, because no one was happy
what tore them five and won and done. So there's
no way you can be happy not even making the
playoffs and having a losing record, even though your team
fights and never gave up and all that good stuff.

(33:26):
There's no way it could be considered a success. Regarding
the positivity, only Jerry could even look put it in
these words. But they said, ask them, can you carry
the momentum of what you're seeing right now into next year?

(33:48):
And he said, yeah, you can carry the momentum over.
It's like you can carry some negative momentum over. And
we carried the losing from green Bay over to this year.
That was a shot in the solar plexus.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Did he lie?

Speaker 4 (34:02):
He didn't lie, He didn't, but he didn't tell the
full truth.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
What role that ownership play and not carry and carrying
momentum from green Bay over? Yes, by not improving the
team and by letting guys go, he didn't jum. You know,
you just can't say we carried momentium from green Bay
over because we had a yeah, you know, because you
didn't help them build on that momentum. Or negative change

(34:30):
that momentum by improving the team.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
You're all in was different than everyone else's perception of
all in.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
Yeah, but not on y'all in different.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
You know, you didn't bring nobody but you you suffered
significant losses and significant losses to depth, and you didn't
go out and shore those up, and then you waited
until the end of training camp to show some of
that stuff up. Then you waited in the training camp
to sign your guys. So the environment there was part
of the environment that you created that helped continue that

(34:59):
negative momentum what I'm saying, and so you don't say that,
but it's only you know, But so we're talking about
the positivity, you're going to throw a shot with the
negativity of you know, bringing over the momentium green Bay.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Look, the end of the season, the Cowboys are at Philadelphia
and then they're at home against Washington, so two division
games here, and.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Well that's why this Green Bay game is important. You know,
I'm not green Bay, excuse me. Cincinnati Cincinnati game is important,
you know, because if you beat Cincinnati, you have a
chance to beat Carolina and possibly Tampa, and then you
got those final two games. They're back. It was funny
to me because I I I I want to see

(35:39):
the chaos. I want to see the conflicted Cowboy fan.
You you fans out there, they were talking tank and
we need to take to lose and get a Todd
draft pick. And I know as a fan, that sounds
logical because it's you know, because only rad you'll really

(36:00):
get the super Bowl, get the best players, and you're
hire to pick journal you get the best player, and
you can do something with maybe trade down to get
multiple picks, a lot of things you can do it. It
sounds fun sounds good when the season lost. But let
the Cowboys go on a three or four or five
game winning streak. The fanning, you're gonna be excited, the fanner,
you're gonna.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
Like I know, I want to draft pick, but I
do like winning.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
It's gonna be you.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Know, and so you're gonna be convicted, you know, because
you're gonna feel good about your team winning, not being
a lap of stock. Ultimate at the end of the day,
most like, even if you somehow get to nine and
eight or ten and seven, it's gonna be one done again.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
Yeah, there's not enough here.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
I don't think that you can make the playoffs, or
even if you get the playoff, which is still they
I think you got like a four percent shot of
getting to the playoffs right now that you can do
something the playoffs, but they will.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
Be convicted and you'll feel good and then you'll be back.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
But we had the same but it was.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
The last couple years not able to take the next step.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
No, onhere close to the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Which is where Mike McCarthy is. And I had a
conversation with somebody earlier this week and I said, you
know when Jerry talked about well he sees the where
there's a scenario where Mike could be brought back if
your Mike's agent and your nego Shane with Jerry gonna
want four years. And I said, and then somebody, well,
well if you just bring him back a year, just
call Hi mulligan and bring him back for one year.
I said, so one year? I said, what coach would

(37:27):
want to sign up for one year? And the coaching
staff and wantuf just for one more year? Like that's
just really not done, I said, would be a minimum
a two year deal.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
But it's good enough. So so say you come back
for one year, if you want, and I nothing what
surprise me because Mike's family, kids loved living here, you know,
so that would be the case. I think that, listen.
I think Mike has done a great job. I don't
think he's got enough credit for the twin five five five.
He's not credit when they went twin five losing Dack

(37:55):
for five games one year. You know, I think he's
done a good job magic him out that he's never
lost his team. But Jerry Jones said everything he need
to say last year when he gave him extension after
twelve and five, twelve and five and twenty five, and
you made it coming to the season what they charged
to do better and you don't do better. And so
I don't know how you can spin it to the

(38:17):
fans of a contract extension. I just don't know how
you can do that, you know. And that's based on
Jerry's body It's not me, it's not Clary's Jille talking.
That's just on the body language and what you've done
because you didn't give him a contract extension after twelve
and five.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
You know, how do you justify it?

Speaker 3 (38:35):
No matter how they're ta Yeah, even though you as
a general manager were not GMing enough to help them.

Speaker 4 (38:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Yeah, I don't know how you justified and how you
sell that to the fan base, but yeah, I mean
Mike would want to stay here as long as he can.
I think he really likes it. I think his family
really likes it. If it's one year of multi year
I mean, but yeah, you look at all of that,
but it's it's gonna be interesting.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
Uh again, that's that's Jerry talk.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Jerry was also asked today about Overshaw, and Overshawn tweeted
the other day either I'm gonna get number zero and
off season or I'm gonna get it in my next contract.
He gonna get zero at some point, and there's been
He was agent zero a Texas. He wore zero and
he had not did not get zero here because Rowdy

(39:26):
wears zero, Rowdy wears zero, Roddy wears double zero.

Speaker 4 (39:32):
How about that and jim Otto number got it.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Yeah, so he wants zero and the Cowboys won't give
him zero, at least they have not done that yet,
and he clearly wont. Like I said, after his brilliant game,
great game against the Giants and showing athleticism, and you
know everybody talks about him being potentially a pro bow
all pro type player. If you listen to the sounds
of the sidelines, you can hear I love the part

(39:57):
of he and Kendrick's talking, yes, and Kendrick he's thank you. Yeah,
they're about the fir, but he's talking later in the show,
they're talking about Kendrick is telling him how great player
it can be, how much how good he can be,
and just he needs to keep his head down and
keep working. And he said, I love you, bro, you know,
thanks God, I thank you for you and what you're
done for Man. It was just a great big bro,
little bro conversation. It's just that's what brotherhood is about.

(40:18):
And so you know, there are a lot of people
who love Overshawn. He's gonna be off. You know, everything
you say about Michael's lack of leadership, overshaw has he
oozes it and he's gonna be a next leader on
this team. You know, just talk to the coaches. He
just enjoys showing up. He enjoys being in the building.
He is a soak, he's a sponge. He soaks up everything,

(40:43):
you know, so they really like everything about him. They
call him cowboy with a cowboy ass. He's heard to
call him cowboy.

Speaker 4 (40:49):
He just he's a Texas, not just along, but it's
a text.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
He's a Texan. He just built for this. This is
just like it's made for him, and so everybody wants
him now zero and you know, so he was asking
the read Jerry was asking ready today about y'all gonna
get Overshong Zero, you're gonna keep Roddy in the Jared
never asked the question. Jerry started telling Rowdy stories deflection
about the old Rowdy, the original riding one of my

(41:14):
favorite ritters. I know the man inside the costume. Yes,
very well, good dude who works in another franchise in
Dallas and his resurrected his career to getting fired as Rowdy.
Why was he fired as rowdy?

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Let's not do that to my man.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
We haven't talked. We ain't said no name. We talked
about Roddy, but Jerry talked about it.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
By the way, I forgot to bring I teased it.
So let me deliver on this before he ride out
of time. Michael Parsons, Michael Parsons.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
We're we're just gonna let rite it go. We don't
let you Rudy band. The script club go we left
it out of man, Michael Parkson and everybody with water
bottles and are.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
You are you going to get on the Michael Parson's podcast,
And Michael Parsons had a couple more sacks, Michael Hartson
trying to get to that ten TAC digit. Did he
find you after the game?

Speaker 2 (41:56):
Oh yeah, Oh yeah, he found He's been calling for
me and and certain he's actually lobbying because he thinks
Donald got one of his sacks or half a sack.
He thinks he needs to get to he'll get at
least he wanted to send it into the league. I
think Mike Mike Caparson with he came back from injury
after missing four games, he had one sack.

Speaker 4 (42:16):
Now he had six and a half. And I asked
him a.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
Couple weeks ago, Mike, you know, Michael, you're feeling good
about the season, feeling good? How you how you guys
are gonna come back? And I think he had three
or four at the time. I said, you know you're
you're double. Did the sack streak, Mike en he might
end he's at least thirteen sacks in each of his
first three seasons. Okay, he's one of the most the
leading sackers through three years of his career anybody in

(42:39):
the history. He's like top three or four, you know,
and that double did the sack streak's question, you know,
it sort of looked on the brink of extinction a
couple of weeks ago. But he's gone on a tear,
you know, and he's been part of and it's not
just been a solo tear. It's not been just he
hunted for sacks himself. It's been part of the improvement

(43:01):
of the defense. And so he's played very well, sacks, pressures, everything,
played very well last few weeks.

Speaker 4 (43:08):
And the numbers are coming.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
You know.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
He has six and a half.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
And the opportunity to play a team that has issues
on the offensive line of Cincinnati this week coming up.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
Yeah, with five games left, he just needs four and
a half now, right, No, three and a half, six
and a half, three and a half, right, and needs
three and a half in five games to get double digit.

Speaker 4 (43:26):
Of course, I'm sure he want thirteen, but getting double digit.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
The first four years of first four years of your
career is something he wants.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
All right, Clarence Hill, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
Hook him.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
Good for you. Glad you guys got that win over
A and M. Let's see if they can keep going
and win the SEC Championship. We'll talk tomorrow with you
on the no no no match tomorrow, that's right, no

hell for Chris Bean, Josh Jazz, everybody who's here at
Dallas Cowboys dot com. Thank you much. We'll catch him
uh Thursday.
