Speaker 5 (01:38):
I know you got I know you got a big closet.
You got more than that in your closet. That was
a choice that that was not a cold choice.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
That was Joe joint good to see see the married man.

Speaker 1 (01:51):

Speaker 9 (01:55):
I did, I did and now I'm back and plugged
in good. I'm ready.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
All right, you know what to listen a little bit
of listen Joe, Joe, Joe with the Sandals.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
You know he he go to Heatonism. Though you go heating,
didn't go eating.

Speaker 9 (02:08):
You keep you keep asking about it, but I didn't
go way. I didn't get that time either.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
A problem with sandals. And I've been there just and
I'm not an alcohol I don't drink alcohol. But the
little cups, I'm like, man, you can't get give you this.

Speaker 9 (02:25):
We just like four of them those poores were light.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah, like they were like how many poors did you get? Though?

Speaker 9 (02:33):
You know the limit does not exist.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
But they just give you that little like a little
tasted a little at the Saint we go to like
the Sam Club, a costco a little taste and that's
like what they give you. I need more more. But anyway,
congratulations the author j J. T is back. John Taylor.
I'm glad, glad he just guy's are sourcing. Let you
come back. So good to see it, good to see it.

Speaker 6 (02:54):
Just keep a good man.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
He's every every Wednesday, sir, unless he has another.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
In the right. Okay, all right, let's just start with you, sir.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
Let's see it.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
He wrote something here, Brandon Cooks is happy to be back,
so going up against the commanders the return of mister Cooks. Yeah,
thoughts in locker room today.

Speaker 9 (03:15):
Yeah, yeah, he's back. Designated him for return. We'll see
if he actually gets clear Before watching him, but I
thought the interesting thing he talked about was not only
trying to be an impact of the Cowboys offense, but
he said he doesn't see a lot of joy on
this team, which is pretty obvious. And he's like, I'm
trying to make a spark to the locker room, a
little bit of joy to the actual play. Yeah, because

(03:35):
I thought I was interested to hear him saying like, yeah,
it's not it hasn't been good. You know, five game
losing streets are tough, right, and it sure looks like that.
So he's trying to bring a spark on the field
and a spark of joy.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
How do you do that for him? Yeah?

Speaker 9 (03:47):
For winning is one?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Well, just joy in the room? Just how do you
do that?

Speaker 9 (03:50):
Yeah, I mean strictly from like when you talk about
Brandon Cook specifically, the guys look up to him. He's
a leader, right, so I think him have being in
there and just kind of giving some kind of feedback
there should help a lot. But to his point, the
only thing to really cheer this up is some wins,
and that's something we haven't seen her in a while.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Well, it's also my perspective because as a veteran, he
knows you have to value every moment and so it
may not be joyful right now, but next year ain't
promised for nobody. And I'm not talking about life, I'm
talking about career, you know, and so maximize these opportunities.
And we've talked about the Zach Martin, you know, and

(04:26):
everybody's talking about you know, this could bear last year,
maybe shut them down. If this is the last year
he plays, he don't want to be shut down.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
You know, you're a young man.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
This is the game you'd love and you've been playing
for law You want to be able to play it
as long as you can while you can't. And you
got to appreciate these moments. And I know it's a
bad time in the middle of a just losing streak.

Speaker 8 (04:51):
But but that's all perspective because much like you said,
because you're playing professional football for a career, I mean
in the big picture, you you know, you've hit the
lot up and so yeah, it's a raggedy time and
you got a raggedy team, and you ain't winning, and
you're not gonna win more than three four games this year,
maybe five, but the one three, sir. That's why I
said maybe maybe they'll get one or two more.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
Maybe, But you know it's the holiday season. You can
find a reason to be thankful pretty easily.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Yeah, and you know I was in the locker room
as well, and uh, lucky you when all the ones
in the locker room today.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
But and that's the whole another story, another conversation.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
But talk to de Marcus Lawrence and uh, he's not
ready to come back.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
He was going to see the doctor.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
But one thing you said, you know, while y'all talking
about Zach Martin retiring, that ain't on his agenda.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
And he's not gonna go out like this injured, and uh,
he will be back next year.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
The question is where. But he plans on playing next year.

Speaker 9 (05:49):
Regassington, everyone else is.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Doing it.

Speaker 8 (05:55):
Right, Like, I don't expect him to see him anymore
this year. The team is out of it, you know,
get your foot right. There's no need to come back
and take a chance on aggravating it before you go
in and get that potential free agency.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
And you're talking about a guy that has been.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
I can't think of the right word, but he knows
how to take care of himself. I mean, you know
when he got his money, Like, I ain't gonna do
the surgeon unless you pay me, right, Okay. So he
is not going to sabotage his future to play in
a meanless game because watching them in the season finale.

Speaker 6 (06:35):
Okay, that's what I mean.

Speaker 8 (06:37):
I don't expect to see him in a play anymore
this year.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
It doesn't make sense.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
Yeah, he's a savvy veteran, So at this point in time,
let's just have an honest conversation about should he be
a cowboy next year?

Speaker 9 (06:54):
I still see value in it in the right money,
especially with it.

Speaker 6 (06:57):
What's the right money?

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Like I said, that's that's the problem, because what's the
right money?

Speaker 5 (07:01):
But the cowboy right, what's the right money for Tank
is gonna be a whole different conversation.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
But you know, this was a fluke foot injury.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
You know, well, this is not something that you know
because Jorge Lewis had the similar injury and he's been
back and has play well and it's not been an issue.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
What he does.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
He still does the high level, you know, and he
can still be part of a solution. You know, depends
how much it cost. Certainly you have some young guys
you want to play. I don't know anybody has shown
you that can replace what he does. And the sad
part is the guy who particularly was going to be
able to do that, Marshawn Neland has been hurt, you know,
the rookie, and we already had a chance to see him.

(07:39):
But yeah, I think there's value in bringing them back.

Speaker 8 (07:42):
And depends on your roster construct like are you a
real contender next year?

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I think as long as long as you have a
quarterback making the money's making, receiver making the money's making,
but you're particilarly going to pay Michael Parsons and this
short went though, as long as that is your quarterback,
you have to look at yourself as a contender. You
shouldn't be looking at yourself as a rebuilding team with

(08:08):
that type of money you're paying a quarterback because it
makes no system be paying a quarterback that type of
money if you're on the rebuilding project.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Question is how old is Tank? Is he thirty? Thirty thirty?

Speaker 9 (08:19):
He's thirty?

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Yeah, he's He and Zac Martin the oldest longest tenured Cowboys,
So he's he's well, he's dak Is thirty one, So
I mean.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
He's over that.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
So I mean, and it's funny like he probably, It's
not like we don't have the resources to find out.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I mean, why are we guessing because.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
We bet he's thirty thirty?

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Yeah, yeah, thirty two.

Speaker 8 (08:41):
I love Tank, but no, he ain't get no contract
for me. And you don't pay free agents in their
thirties on bad teams.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
So that you're hoping Sam Williams is healthy and ready
to go, not.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
A bad They don't see themselves as a bad team.
That's your opinion.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
No, the records say they're a bad team.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Well, they probably because I mean, I'm just saying, as
you're constructing this team, you're trying to win. I'm not
looking at myself. We a bad team. So I'm not
gonna pay a guy that can help us win.

Speaker 8 (09:09):
I'm not paying nobody who's thirty two, who get three
sacks a year.

Speaker 9 (09:13):
I also don't know what his market's gonna be, to
be honest with you, because he's not an edge, like
a true edge pass rushing guy that's gonna listen a
lot of money in the market. I think that there's
a way that the market.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Is getting lost.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
And because for loss of money you're gonna put, you're
gonna play. Okay, you would rather him than you got
what's lost his ear. Okay, you're gonna you're gonna have
guys on your roster, uh, especially in I think it
takes on your team. He's probably gonna be a starter,
and it's not about the sex and what he does
with the run and everything else. I would I could,

(09:44):
I would think about bringing it back for sure. I
don't think his ages would be an issue for me.
I mean I look at and and we have different mindsets.
Because I look at the guy in Miami. Uh uh,
the big defence class Campbell.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
I wanted to capul design class. Haven't been in the
league nineteen years, do still get it done?

Speaker 5 (10:01):
You know, he's part of when you're trying to build
a team, trying to build a defens line.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
I want guys like that.

Speaker 8 (10:06):
It's a young man's game. It's not the old man's game. Okay,
you can frown, but it's a young man's game. Older
players get hurt more often, freak foot injuries, and then
they take longer to He'll been out all.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Your Marshall and Nylands, a rookie got hurt with a
freak knee injury.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I mean the game of the game. I'm just saying that.

Speaker 8 (10:25):
Geral arguing that a young man's game.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
No, I'm arguing the fact that we're talking about one player.
We're not talking about the whole roster of older players.
We're talking about select older players you want on your team.
And yes, you're you're gonna build their team a young
team because they're gonna be young anyway. But as I
look to add veterans of keep veterans or key veterans.
Here's somebody I'm not gonna say he's too old. I

(10:49):
wouldn't consider bringing it back. That's that's not a non
starter for me. For maybe for you, that's not for me.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Okay, So I'm signing moreris on this from the standpoint
of you're rebuilding your team.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
I'm not rebuilding.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
So you're you're a three and seven football team. You're
not going to have a winning record. What do you
want to call it?

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Then?

Speaker 9 (11:13):
I think they're captain.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
You can call you what you want to call it.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
But but where were they in twenty fifteen and they
won in twenty sixteen. I mean, you're not a team
that's been down in the dumps. I don't think everybody
look at this as a mass rebuild. When you when
you're paying, when you're paying that that kind of money
you're paying those guys got you got of money. You're
paying to win. Now, you're not paying to start a

(11:37):
rebuilding process. Is that why I pay the money? If
you're I mean, yes, this is a bad season, the
record is bad.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
But I don't think.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
They're looking at the core and say this is a
team that needs to be in a rebuilding process.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
I think you misunderstand.

Speaker 8 (11:52):
Okay, whatever you paid the Marcus Lawrence, why don't I
go get a twenty seven year old who can do that?

Speaker 6 (11:58):
That's what I mean.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
I'm thinking twice.

Speaker 8 (12:02):
Why donna get dawns Armstrong from somebody correct to do that?

Speaker 4 (12:06):
That's right, who's young.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
I still can't do what Denmark Lawrence can do when
he's on the field. And I'm not again, I mean.

Speaker 9 (12:12):
He's on the field, but I think he's gonna get
paid a lot more too, though.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
But but but I guess what I'm saying is this,
I understand the young mindset.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
I understand the rebuilding mindset.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
And I'm not again, We're not talking about the entire
defense line full.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Of Tank Lawrences and and lynn Vell Josephs.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
I'm saying, if I'm looking for one guy, as I
look at yes, I got Marshall Newland, but I got
said Williams coming back. Who's a young man that got hurt.
I mean, it's a game, people get hurt. But uh,
as I look at this team to say, I'm not
bringing Tank Lawrence back because he's thirty two and old,
I do have a lot of young guys.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
I still think there's some veterans I.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
Still want to mix in with those young guys, and
he's somebody would consider doing that at the right price.
That's all I'm saying. Is not a blanket. No, you
guys are making a blanket.

Speaker 6 (13:02):
No, he could come in my price, but my price
would insult it.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
That's it. May not listen.

Speaker 9 (13:07):
Market, you know what.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
You know what he can do.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
We always wanted to listen.

Speaker 8 (13:11):
And he can on a championship caliber team. He's a
lot more valuable than he is on my team.

Speaker 9 (13:17):
Yes, they're coming off an injury. To your point, I
don't know how the market's.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Gonna be lowed it so and I hear you made insulted.
But like I said, a long time, begouse. I've been
this stank a long time, like you've been a stank
a long time. You can't get these jobs on the street.
Make that money. As long as you can make that money,
I remember a lot of people got assaulted by the offerings,
had to retire. Can't get one million on the street. Okay,

(13:41):
that's insulting when you've been making twelve and thirteen million,
but you can't get that on the street. It's something
me and that's some people that understand it and take
wants to play, and he wants to continue to play,
and he understands his market is probably taken.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
It's suthing me.

Speaker 8 (13:57):
The one point I will put in your favor is
it he might not be as insulted because I think
he considers himself a Dallas sat and he got four kids.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Yes, and he's home and he got a you know
a lot of things, you know, but it's something and
something because I know a lot of people aresultant and
quit and got mad at the money. You know, as
Jared said, don't let the money get don't let your
money get mad. You let your money get mad. And
then ain't nobody off of your job. And ain't nobody
off of you nothing. You're sitting home, you're not playing.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
It ain't gonna be mad, you know. So I'm just
saying it's insulting. Is relative?

Speaker 6 (14:32):
Okay, how about it? When we come back, go let
Joe took Joe what child Joel like to be mad?
You can get a word.

Speaker 9 (17:37):
But they're from Maryland.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
They from Maryland. Got a little gold in that too.

Speaker 9 (17:43):
Yeah, you're you're putting new on blast for this. It
looks good.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
I'm a down nine five too, you know what. I'm
a down nine five to John? You think nine five two?
You got red and gold on today?

Speaker 6 (17:55):
Got enough to say, Grace got now, Joe, you don't
know about nine you.

Speaker 9 (17:59):
Know about nine five two?

Speaker 1 (18:00):
So so that's Jared's extension back of Valen Ranch. Oh,
I wouldn't know that when the players, Yeah, well you
wouldn't know that.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
But when the players want to go over the coaches head.
They died nine five to two on the house. You
had the house down nine five two.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
That's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Get nine seven two five five six?

Speaker 9 (18:20):
So who do I die when I'm trying to go
over your head?

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Lord?

Speaker 4 (18:26):
I can't. It doesn't exist. Such a hater, bro, you
you have you're a hater, a hazer. You have dialed
the listen, got girls round here crying to me, dude,
ain't nobody during that.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
Was not me as you John, I saw it that day,
joh I saw it that day. Yeah yeah, who's the
media room? Who the locker rooms are? They got people
keep that locker room?

Speaker 8 (18:56):
Uh yeah, I think it was Calvin Wack. I didn't
have this kind of problem under his presidency.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
Trying to act like he cleaned. Okay, this is anyway?

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Can we get back to the Cowboys locker room?

Speaker 9 (19:10):
The Cowboys?

Speaker 4 (19:10):
I tried, but you're the one jumping on the top
road taking over the show as always. Spielberg, Joe, Micah
Parson's did not want to talk after Monday night.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
Is he talking this week?

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Yes? How how long was it gonna take? You know,
how Tad gonna speak with him? What are we gonna do?

Speaker 9 (19:31):
I mean, he says he's not trying to get fined.
I mean you had that Twitter interaction with him. He
said that he was gonna be there. We saw him
today actually walking out and the first thing he walked
out of locker room as we're walking in and he says,
like Clarence, I'm here. So I mean he's ready to
talk apparently, so I'm probably tomorrow. I'm assuming we'll get
a chance to speak with him. Hopefully he did speak
on his podcast where he did say that you know
he truly believes they're a darn good football team based

(19:53):
on what his own thoughts.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
Well, first of all, I'm the Michael Parsons whisper right
now asking him about me.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
I talked to Michael.

Speaker 9 (20:02):
Oh, and I saw Michael today.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yet you know, I didn't matter.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
When's the podcast walking out of the crocker, and we
did say see I'm here. I said, I need you
upfront and center, sir. Uh, he didn't show up today.
I talked to the Cowboys media. You know what's funny
thing today is, you know we was as we were
working on cause Asso say as you say, I was like, listen,

(20:29):
Mike is gonna be fine if he don't talk tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
But not just Michael, because he ain't the only one.
He's the one that got the name.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
You got the list.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
We got list.

Speaker 6 (20:38):
Oh now that's some Cavin walking.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
We got the list. Okay, so Calvin got helped.

Speaker 6 (20:43):
We got we got and I'm like, we're not gonna.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
Twenty five thousand. We're we're not gonna. It's the NFL
find It's not all fine.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
No, no, that was gonna that was my next name.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
Yeah, contract this was not just a uh and so
I was like, we're just not gonna pick on my
because he is, uh, the squeaky wheel, so to speak.
You know, there are a lot of guys who don't
talk on a regular basis, who Trevon Diggs, Marzie Smiths,
Donovan Wilson, Lee Cooker and to that point, Hey, Maligga

(21:17):
Cooker is coming out the coming in.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
So Meliga came and talked today. But it's not just
Michael who hasn't talked. Uh.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
But getting back to Michael, I did talk to after
we left the locker room. He said he will be
from Center tomorrow, so he will be fun Center. He's
a boy and the fine he will be from Cener.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
The marks are you and he when he did do
the tweet to Clarence, it was Marshawn Lynch.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
I'm here, so I don't get fine. Here's what you know.
But but you know, he can't.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Like I was trying to tell people, you know, yes
they were cool and as cute as over here, because
he was just.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Laughing about it.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
And but as I've been telling people, Marshawn does not
like talking period. Of course you can't tell that now.
His career so funny, which is so funny to me
because I've seen so many players be like this, I'm
not talking to the media.

Speaker 6 (22:04):
I don't like the meetia, and they run to get
to the media, as the creator run to get to
the meeting.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
You can't stop him from talking.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
But Michael likes to talk, which is why he has
a podcast, and which is actually why he got in trouble.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
So he may and he's all that mad. He's laughing and.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Joking and starting the tweeting back at me, and and
which is again why he got in trouble the first place.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
But soon as you get in and.

Speaker 5 (22:26):
Started talking, as soon as you wind him up, he
might start with him here get just get fine. But
then he gonna pontificate, as Michael does, which is why
he was on his podcast yesterday talking about we're a
good team even though you're three and seven and lost
five straight game. He was also on this podcast making

(22:46):
fun of doctor Schultz. You know, Doctor Shuts came out
yesterday with a big tweeted about coffee and talking about
Texas on the best team and everything. So he and
he and what you did not tweet back at at
Doctor Suez, so so you really didn't like them to
or something. So he and Diggs were on that podcast

(23:11):
laughing about that, talking about it'd.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Be different too, mixing did it. This dude didn't even
do thishing in the game, trying to talk to trash.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
That's how little respect people half of you these days.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Right right. It was funny to me because I was
saying to Georgiana game you weren't there.

Speaker 5 (23:24):
I was talking to my air Joe, my visible jurch
in the locker because I talked during the game.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
I don't know if you guys know that.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
We can hear it.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
The doctor Suer hear that doctor Sister called the pass
and about ten cowboys hit him.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
All night.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
Now what you said about the locker room, They gave
him some Yeah, they gave him the business.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
But yeah, Michael, Michael said he's gonna talk tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
So the thing with Dalton Shows, I'm trying to understand.
They offered you a deal and you turned it down.

Speaker 8 (24:03):
Check this out, man Dunkin Shows was the whiniest dude
and the most softest mentally dude for Cats who never
really had a nice year. But he wasn't no difference
maker yet, I don't know. He carried himself with the
arrogance that he didn't deserve to play on the feed.
For the arrogance, I didn't want to go there.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
That's true.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Organ guy.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
You can't even say that because it's it's your biast.

Speaker 9 (24:25):
A little bit for the arrogant itself, the cardinal, you know.

Speaker 8 (24:30):
So maybe that's what he is, man, but he you know,
he got mad at somebody for something that they wrote
last year, and it was was and it was like
not even it was not even.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
Like like it was because yeah, Calvin talk about this,
uh the it was two years ago when it was
the cleats in Green Bay.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Yeah, I was. I was, actually I was there in
the locker room and he said you need to ask
people about the seven inch cleats and yes, and Calvin
then said something about it and then he got all
but he said it. It was you know, with those
typical things players says something it's written that players like, yeah, well.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Yeah, he's the same way he was because he was
the one who went on the.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
Show last year with a kid of me span from
about uh, I can't think his name from barstool.

Speaker 9 (25:22):
McAfee.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
Yeah, he won on a McAfee show last year and
was the first one to talk about the tours like
a zoo animal. He did that volunteer. They talking about
the difference in Houston in vout he was a zoo animal.
People started writing about the zoo animal made the headline.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
He started talking. He stopped talking to the media.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
He stopped talking to the meeting in Houston because the
zoo animal made a headline naturally, and so he stopped
talking to the media.

Speaker 6 (25:42):
But it was something he said, right, that's DLin Shills
in a nutshell.

Speaker 9 (25:46):
Well, even this last thing was him in a nutshell then,
because like who has the thought process? Let me get
two coffees, you know, the black one, Let me do
the writing. Blah blah blah. After your point, I had
one catch.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
And one catch and I got punished on that catch.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
He was franchised by the team, got paid ten million dollars.
They offered him a deal. Steven was talking about we
offered him a contract. He thought he should have been
getting David and Joku money. Yeah, and then he went
to that that camp, I guess, the tight End summit.
And then guess he thought since he was with them,
that he was one of them, and you know, give

(26:23):
me some Kelsey money. And let's be honest, how many
guys have seen somebody get paid from Cleveland think I
want that? Well, most people are like, no, that's Cleveland
for a re they do stuff like right, Cleveland has
to pay you a lot of money. And so that
didn't happen. Then I'm not talking about my contract. That
he got mad and it was it was just very
interesting that a guy is just a guy. Right. He

(26:48):
wasn't the he wasn't the Jason Whitten next man. It
wasn't that that guy.

Speaker 6 (26:55):
But he is a solid player player.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
It's a good player.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
But he and his does he think he is.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
They weren't gonna get he wasn't going to get in
Joku money. You're not in Joku. You're you're not him physically,
you're just and it's not Cleveland and you can't.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
So okay, So I didn't know he was going to
come back super mad at the team.

Speaker 8 (27:14):
That okays, enough time talking about somebody like dog shoes man,
let's move on.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
Claims brought it up.

Speaker 6 (27:18):
I'm being like Spielberg. You did, yes, ye, yes, we
were talking about sorry tight ends.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
No, we were talking about arrogant Michael Porsons and you
went back at that we were talking.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
About because they brought up the thing.

Speaker 6 (27:35):
You brought it up from that, so you brought it up,
but we took it and ran with that over radio.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Yeah, you went.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Ohio, Joe Cloud on nobody. I mean, I'm not but Stanford.

Speaker 4 (27:51):
Yeah, respect for Stanley.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Can anybody get in Oregon? I'm just asking anybody.

Speaker 9 (27:58):
Our c PA has been rising.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Five hundred people. You've seen all that?

Speaker 1 (28:03):
N I l when you say been rising, that tells
you about like Cougar, how to get in? Wow?

Speaker 9 (28:14):
Talking about.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Just got Yeah, it's thinking the old back back twelve Yeah,
cass Stanford used to.

Speaker 9 (28:28):
L a schools U s c Are we talking about
a conference that doesn't tough schools to get into?

Speaker 1 (28:35):
And then you got them them North schools up there.
I don't know, I don't know what they're.

Speaker 9 (28:40):
Washington's a good school, Washington's, Morgan's got the great sports business?

Speaker 3 (28:47):
We got?

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Is it school?

Speaker 3 (28:51):
No?

Speaker 4 (28:52):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I believe it is.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
You don't know what we're talking about?

Speaker 9 (28:57):
Yeah, they played basketball?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Right, No, research it is?

Speaker 3 (29:05):
It is.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
I want to say it is why are you talking one,
I'm just asking.

Speaker 9 (29:09):
I don't know you're talking on the number one team,
the number one.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Team, and what your academic standards are?

Speaker 9 (29:14):
Ten championship bound.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Let's get a break from the University of Texas alone.
Clear until I'm assuming he went to Oregon, Joe didn't. Okay, yes,
you didn't know he went to I did not know
until today. The Ohio State, No, they don't have no standards.

Speaker 6 (29:32):
We want to top research schools. A couple's shut up.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
They are a U school. Ohio State is the Ohio State?
Is it is? It's not about them, about.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Them, I wasn't talking about Yeah, yeah talking.

Speaker 6 (29:47):

Speaker 4 (32:06):
To media mash me the mash Jack Taylor, Joe Hoyt
Clance till I knew he scruts Uh Cowboys going up
to Washington. Cowboys fight street games. They've lost there at
the three except the football team. Dan Quinn is the
head coach who was a defensive coordinator here. His defensive coordinators,

(32:29):
Joe Witt Junior and Joe Witt Jr. Gonna want to
put it on him. That's just my opinion from knowing
Joe Witt haven't talked to him, but Joey gonna try
and put.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
It on him.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
And that's Dan Campbell.

Speaker 6 (32:38):
That's the type way I was gonna say.

Speaker 8 (32:39):
Maybe that's because he wanted the DC job, and Jerry said,
I don't want the first time DC.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
I'd like to with more experience.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
No, there's no question this was Joey's dream job. I
mean talking to joe with his dream job would be
coached DC with the Cowboys, and that's what he wanted.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
They won it bad. He dreamed. He talked about this
well when he first.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
Started coaching, trying to manifest that thing come out of
you know, Dad was a big time coach, you know,
and he started coaching, this was where he wanted to be,
you know, and so being here was a dream come true.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
And certainly he wanted to be to DC.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
And so the fact that they didn't give him the job,
and I think Mike McCarthy would have hired him, I
think he's right.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Jerry wanted a veteran, experienced guy to come fix.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
This defense because again, and every one thing we talked
about in the locker room, you know, he got dirty
with some of that late season hate on Dan Quinn and.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Joe Witt and dan Quinn. Yeah, like I got something
to prove.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
I want to show people, you know, because they're taking
care of business up there. And I asked, you know,
we talked to tell people in the locker room today,
you know, And I asked Jordan Lewis, who's become one
of the favorites because Joe gets it. I mean, Jordan
gets it. He understands the media, he understands the talk.

(33:55):
He has a puzzle of the team. If you want
to get a good evaluation of the NFL, the Cowboys,
the media where everybody's there. Talked to Jordan Lewis. Yeah,
Jordan was he and he really has a good head
on his shoulders. And uh, number one, they all still

(34:16):
love and adore dan Quinn, you know, talking to.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Cooker today and they still love the door dan Quinn.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
And and yes he liked rap music, and yes he
wears Jordan's Yeah he was kind of hip. Yeah he's
a players coach. He still calls him, he still talks
to him. They love dan Quinn, they love playing for
dan Quinn. They love her later than the dan Quinn, but.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
At the end of his tenure, there are a lot
of Cowboy fans, you know, they forget now they got
that memory.

Speaker 5 (34:49):
After Green Bay or dan Quinn checked out. Dan Quinn's
something wrong with dan quinn defense some you know, all
of this stuff and we need a new voice and
Jim is gonna come and he's better than dan Quinn
and all this other stuff. Right as Jordan about that,
he said, we're still bad on defense.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
He said they're not a good defense.

Speaker 5 (35:14):
He didn't use those words, but he said, we still
got the same problems. Yeah, it's interesting, he said, that
is deeper than that. Have we got the same problems
and this so you can't it wasn't no dan Quinn
and no problem they had that not bad to stop
the run and and things that they had that remained.

(35:36):
So no, dan Quinn does not get dirty in his mind.
What what what what happened in Green Bay?

Speaker 9 (35:42):
Also what happened with Green Bay was they were switching
things up because of Stefan Gilmore's shoulder entry, So they
had to switch up their defense entirely, and that was it.
It didn't work right, but that was something that was
kind of forced to happen. Per se. So long story sorty,
I think to your point, I remember right after that,
people are like, oh god, don't bring dan Quinn back. Yeah,
I don't think that's aging well, frankly, and neither the

(36:02):
same thing with Joe Wits to your point, I think
he got touched by that. But you talked to Mike
McCarthy and Brian Schoenheimer this week on their own. They
brought uput how good Joe Whitt was. Yeah, specifically they
were asked about dan Quinn and they said, yeah, well,
Joe Whits got that thing humming, and he's got those
players believing and fighting. And I think to your point,
it's gonna be a statement defensive game for Washington. They're
gonna want it.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
To be ain good with dan Quinn because I think
he's letting Joe Wit run the defense. You know, he's
the head coach and he's not. You know, you could
be head coach and offense coordinator. You can be the
head coach at defense coordinator. Were letting Joe with This
has been Joe's dream job, and you know, he letting
Joe run the defense and and is working out for them.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
But yeah, it's you know, to your the dead Quinn.

Speaker 5 (36:42):
Hate started well before they got them little safeties and
playing cornerback. And you know, this whole scheme became a
referendum on what's wrong with the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Dag Quitz, so you can steal coach.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Dan Quinn. Mike Zimmer had been let down by the
front office. This is a team that has not been
able to stop the run. And I'm sorry. You look
at when dan Quinn was winning Super Bowls with Seattle,
what did they have up front? You look at what
Mike Zimmer had in Cincinnati and Minnesota and he was
winning games. It's up front and the Cowboys the general

(37:20):
manager is not place the priority on it. And when
they did place a priority on in the first round,
Miss Smith, they missed badly.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
They did. But Dad Quill was part of the decision making.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
There's no way they drafted Misi Smith and Deep was accordingated,
didn't say I want that guy, you know, especially after
they they couldn't stop the run the year before, and
they made a focus on stopping the row because they
got Michael, they got the edge rushers.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
So Dad Quinn knew and.

Speaker 5 (37:44):
They all because I remember draft day, they all talked
about we have to our priority stopping the run.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
And they identify Misie Smith as that guy. That was
some of the dad's work.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Now okay, yes, okay, that's that's fair. But I also
say this just one shot.

Speaker 6 (37:58):
That was it just one one that.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
They no, no, no, no, no more than one.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
They drafted Sam Williams and they drafted about understand that,
but they thought, you know, and and again I don't
know the way the way uh the Marion is playing.
You know, if he don't get hurt, it's Brookie, you
can He was gonna be a big part of the
defense last year too.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
You know, that may have made a difference.

Speaker 9 (38:28):
One linebacker against the Green Bay Packers, one starting but.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
They you know, he may have made a difference. I'm
just saying that they tried time they went and got Gilmore.
I mean they they tried to prove the defensive dak
When I mean to say that they did nothing.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
I'm talking about the run, bro the run.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
You stop run.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
They can't stop the run. You just stopped the run
last year. Before that, you knew, you knew, you've been
trying to stop the money. Haven't done it. Okay, they
still haven't done it.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
They drafted the great they drafted the first round. He
was attack and that was just one shot. That's what.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
Wait, you could have got.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Three thirty pound you can bring you down and one night.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Okay. So I remember the time when Bill Walsh had
an issue with his football team and he says, you know,
we need some defensive We are bad dbs. So he
drafted Ronnie Lott, drafted Eric Right, and Dafter Williamson put
three dudes. Hey, we gonna address it and keep addressing it.

Speaker 8 (39:23):
That reminds me of the year that the Cowboys drafted
who three cornerbacks in the same draft.

Speaker 6 (39:29):
None of them could play, Kareem lar More.

Speaker 8 (39:35):
Of Florida State, Dwayne Goowich around. They put some numbers,
some draft capital at corner for.

Speaker 9 (39:42):
At least they tried.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
They all had two of them had red flag.

Speaker 6 (39:47):
And Mario was fine. He was playing fine until Damn
Marino found him on Thanksgiving Day.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
Mario was the lowest round of the pit around. He
was just a guy lord round of the pick. One
of them was a weed head. One of them win
and killed somebody.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
Stop. I just said you just for all the I mean, yes,
you're right, you're telling your truth.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
Trust.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
I mean it's bad when I'm in the strip club
and I'm like, look, at the player. I was a
strip club there and I'm like, yeah, locked eyes across the.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Walk, a, how are you?

Speaker 4 (40:26):
You probably should go home?

Speaker 5 (40:28):
Stop bad, stop you saund like the people just hating
on the city because they was in the club.

Speaker 9 (40:36):
You wanted to know where the club was.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
This is back when this we knew, we knew wood
he had Like, dude, you you you know you are
not living up to it. Like, dude, you should probably go.
This was me actually just trying to actually be a
good man.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
So you was in the strip club being a good friend.

Speaker 4 (40:52):
Yeah, I learned from you.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Was helping people. I learned from you get through college.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
I didn't help had players. He'll champangel.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
You have people get through college. Make it the ray.
You're a good rich I'm gonna leave you.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
Alone right now because I'm sure could be bringing.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
You right on here to break.

Speaker 5 (41:12):
You volunteered. I tell ya used to like Michael Parson,
you volunteered. Now you're mad that we're focusing.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
On That's fine, man.

Speaker 6 (41:24):
You used to have to hang out at the strip club.
That's where the players.

Speaker 4 (41:27):
Want learned from players. This is you wanted to find
your players, and Mondays was good times to go see cats.

Speaker 6 (41:32):
And they just started saying, some coaches roll up in there,
you can get out.

Speaker 4 (41:35):
Yes, yes, Now, nobody ever named the Champagne Room after
me like they did for Clarence. You know, Champagne. I
was Champagne.

Speaker 9 (41:43):
