Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Cowboys This is Media Match,
a roundtable of Cowboys insiders dropping wisdom and offering sicling
takes on the current state of your Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Now, your host Newie scrugs.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
All right, everybody, you are talking cowboys here on the
media match. Clarence Hill, all City, Dallas is here. I'm
NEWI scrugs. Forty minutes of cowboy content on a day
after the Cowboys end up losing to the Cincinnati Bengals
at home twenty seven to twenty. Dallas, looking for their
second straight home win of the year, didn't get it
(00:48):
there now, one and six at home, And boy, I
got to tell Claytons, you were pretty close. When it
came to call on the game. You picked Cincinnati to
win twenty eight twenty four, twenty seven twenty was the
final there and the loss drop styles to five and eight.
We knew the Cowboys are already long shot to get in
the playoff. You can pretty much, and you can't end
(01:08):
all that conversation now. And you were starting to say, hey, look,
use December to look toward your twenty twenty five roster.
Big news today, Jerry Jones confirmed on his radio show,
The Domorian Overshow will not be a part of the
twenty twenty five team. Is he now needs knee surgery
go ahead and more?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Yeah, I mean we learned late last night that it
was major knee injury, multiple liigaments, test rebility toward the ACL,
MCL and PCL and its right knee. Just a devastating
injury for the Marven Overshawn, who was one of the
bright stars and bright hopes when you look to the
future and like you're looking for some positivity in this season.
(01:45):
It was the playoff overshown and the prospects of he
and Mike Michael Parson's playing next to each other next
you know, next year for a full season. What you're
going to get from them, And I mean Michael Parson
was reduced to tears in the locker room, and Eric
Henderson got emotional, and you know it was sad he
watched when he went down, the whole team gathered around him.
(02:06):
And you know, for a guy who missed his rookie
year with the knee injury toward the AC on his
left knees and camp missed all his rookie year, came
back and just was one of the bright stars. And
it wasn't just as play on the field. It's his attitude,
his exuber runs, his useful exuber runce, his love for
(02:26):
the game, his joy of playing football. The teammates loved him.
He wore he's from arc Texas. He leaned into his
small town roots, whereas Cowboy had all the time they
caught him. Cowboy just a good old country boy who
loved playing football, loved hitting people, love being violent. Just
he just brought something to the game. And it's a
(02:47):
huge setback for the Cowboys. And again, as you mentioned,
because of the extended injury, because of the time of
the year. You know, you get hurt in December and January.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
He's gonna be hard pressed to be ready for twenty
twenty five, and he may not be ready until twenty
twenty six, you know, so he could miss all of
next year. And it's just a setback for him, set
back for the Cowboys, who you already got enough needs
in the draft of rgency. Now you're gonna need to
final possibly two starting caliber linebackers because you know you're
(03:23):
probably not bringing Eric hendricks back. You know, now you
need somebody to replace Overshewn, and you need a playmaker.
You just don't need a guy. I mean, Overshown was
a special, special playmaker that they're missing. It's just a
huge setback, devastating blow for the Cowboys and what was
a devastating game. It was a devastating setback for this
(03:44):
team and the momentum they were buildings one thing to
be building. You know when they say entered the insult
and something's like this was it, because this was the
game was laid out perfectly. You're talking about the momentum
and wanting to build on the momentum of the two
game winners streak and hopefully, you know, want to win
out long shot, whatever you want to call it, and
(04:05):
to play a Bengals team that everybody was scared of, their.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
All fans they were since I was favored in this
game by five.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
And a half. Yes, and with all due respect Joe
Burrow and Jamar Chase, you know they are worthy of
being feared. And for the Cowboys to play as well
as they did, play as well set themselves up to win.
You're talking about it's two minutes left in the game,
it's a twenty twenty game. This Bengals team's been scoring
(04:32):
thirty on everybody. You hold them for twenty points. You
forced two punts in the fourth quarter on two drive
in these sacks on Joe Burrow. This last punt with
two minutes left, Nick Figel breaks through and blocks the
punt to potentially set you up for game winning field
goal and plus territory potentially set you up for a
(04:58):
game winning field goal. But as I SA said, in
a season that has been off kilters and Jerry Jones
promised to go all in and never went all in,
you can't assume nothing good is gonna happen for the Cowboys.
Then the leon let play.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Let's let's slow down a little because there's there's layers
upon what you're saying. Let's let's start with overshown. Okay,
over all it is, but go back into this because
I talked a little bit about this on the players line.
Your scouting department you touched a little bit. Your scouting
department has another issue.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Now.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yes, as you're starting to look at as many with
thirty thirty free agents.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Yes you got over thirty guys and free including the
coaching staff. But anyway, so all one year deal.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Overshown was one of the guys. Okay, we have a
piece here to go along with the other piece in
Michael Parks. Okay, we got two guys and thought leader
Robin Sharman has has a term it calls energy explosion.
That's what Overshowe brought you. Energy explosion. So it's not
just replacing the player, as you said, it's replacing the character.
(06:07):
What he brought to the room was a special guy.
So you've got that to deal with. Also, Diggy Zoo.
In my opinion, it's going to get a big contract
after the season.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Oh, he's gonna get a good I don't know. I
mean it's big. I mean, he's not gonna get ten
bill in a year.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Okay, like this, he'll probably price himself.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Out here because the cow was going to pay true.
But but there's another I mean, because when you have
to play Mike, I mean Michael Parsons, we got a
big contract. Is not gonna get nowhere close to Michael Parsons.
He might get more than what the Cowboys want to
pay it.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
If he got what Armstrong got from Washington, you're not
gonna pay it.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Probably possibly not. Yeah, I don't know what the ways
when I say big, biggest relative. You know what I'm saying.
Mike is gonna get a big contract. That got a
big contract.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Okay, so our big difference, Mike. Okay, you say big
to me.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Marcos Strong didn't get a big contract. He got a
big contract for a Farmstrong. Okay, it's just like Micah
Gallup didn't get a big contract. See they got a
big contract. Mic Gallup got a big contract for Mica Gallup.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Michael Parsons is going to most likely set the record
for a defensive player.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, that's a big contract to me.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
And that's what Okay, that's over here. Yes, Also, diggi Zula,
I think of.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Armstrong.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I think of Tyler Biadis the center last year when
he got nice contract, right, okay, contracts at the Cowboy
said now that's too much for us. And I bring
that up because here's arguably your best interior defensive line.
So you're gonna lose an impact linebacker with energy and overshown.
You're possibly gonna miss Olso diggi Zula, you're gonna most
like ghost.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
It might be a free agent. The Marcus Lawrence is
a free agent I mean, it's.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Not Jordan Lewis who's had an ounce standing you.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
You can go down to Liz right.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
And so that's my thing of just with over here's
one more thing on top of what already seemingly is
an issue.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yeah, yeah, no, so yeah brought that up. It's just yeah,
so when I say you need to have all these
problems and then you add the overshewn injury, well it's
just a huge setback for organization. But I just and
in a game like that, when you set yourself up
(08:19):
and then you look at this game and it's just
it's a microcosm of the Cowboy season. I mean, you
you lose bbtarting center. Yeah, you have to mix and match,
and you play well enough to keep yourself in the game.
You lose overshown and you play well enough to get
off the field.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Your starting left tackle was out of the game. You
didn't play got you went with dog. So I mean,
just just that whole thing, and the offensive mind.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I would you think they were because it was better.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
I'm just kind of going with overall. Well, you know what,
you know the Stevens that we like our guys like
beginning of the year, we like our guys.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
That was your that was your guy, you know.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
But yeah, so you look at all of that and
this was that must win for the Cowboys, and it
was a muscle win for Mike McCarthy. You know, we
can get into all of that. Uh, it's just to
have all of that happen and then have the game
set up for you to win the game. Most people
didn't think you're gonna win the hand game said you
(09:20):
for you don't for you to win. You blocked the punt,
but well you blocked the punch and AO say his name.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Or already.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Son, what are you doing? I mean, I don't buy
the hit the ball. Just so. He was trying to
make hi play. He was trying to pick it up
and run with it. He was trying to do one.
He was doing the one tumbel, trying to be a hero.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
You know.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
For the life of me, I just don't know why
did Leon let play? Is not in the Special Teams
room for infamy. So okay, if you block a punt
or kick and they go past a lot of scrimmage,
stay away from the ball. If you block a punt
or kick and it goes past a lot of scrimmage
(10:15):
and you can hear it. The dud, the dud, Papa ba,
you can hear it. And then they yell poison or peter. Okay,
And so everybody has rules. Stay away from the ball,
stay away from the ball, stay away from the ball.
Step away from the ball.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
Right.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
But but then I come back to this is the
thing I put out on Twitter. This is what bad
teams do.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yes, this this is what you do.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
We look at the Kansas City Chiefs and the way
they play this year and the one the once score
games and everything you know, and it's just like, yo, okay,
this is how you get beat.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
They find ways to lose. Chiefs find ways when when
they are living on ball time. The Cowboys always have
fought find ways. Well that's the thing about this team.
I mean, you know, just just doing the right thing.
You know, even the jeer Thomas return, go down, he
scored it, turns down to the wise and go down.
You were supposed to go down. You didn't do the
(11:13):
right thing. You let your instincts take over. Oh hey,
you let your instincts take over. You didn't do the
right thing. The right thing is don't touch the ball
all the offensive linemen and people picking up fumbles and
go down, go down. It's not your job. Try to
pick up and run with the ball, go down? What
are you doing, Terence Steel? What are you doing? Tyler Guidon?
(11:38):
It's always something that sets this team back. Not listen
to your teaching, pay atten to your fundamentals, the details,
just the details. And as much as you can blame
the injuries and bad I mean, the Cowboys have done
things to contribute to their own demise because they didn't
(12:02):
boneheaded plays not whatever you want to call it, right.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
The many many you know, the many pre snap pedals.
This is what they've done all year long. And once again,
this is what bad teams do. And this is why
the coaching staff is in the position they're in right
now of uncertainty. And that's something that the owner has
to look at to say, hey, okay, look at how
we're losing some of these games. Where's the discipline? Why
(12:27):
are we beating ourselves here? And it's been a bad
month for the special teams unit. It's been good and bad.
I mean there's been some highs and it's been some
what are we doing here? I even go out to
the Washington game where Turping returns the punt and then
you go back to uh Janye Thomas returning a kick
and you're supposed to go down.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
That's not including the block, uh field goal and things
like that.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Yeah, so it was you know, it's it's it's been
so up and down and you know, if you're Jerry Jones.
While bones Fossil has a good reputation in the league,
reputation even even Sean McVay let him go with the
Rams because they're part of Super Bowl team and he's like,
you know, one one, one, one too many for him.
So this is this is the kind of stuff that
(13:14):
gets weighed in at the end. This was a This
was a as winnable a game as they had all
year long, and they did not do it. If the
old line Didndy Green said, they are who we thought
they were. We let them off the hook. They let
Cincinnati off the hook despite an elite performance from Joe
Burrow and Jamar Chase.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Elite.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
You're right there where you needed to be, right there
where you needed to be, and you did not get
it done. Reminds me when L s U and Joe
Burrow played Texas that you're down in Austin. It was
a great game, and Texas just did did what they did.
But why what are you gonna do that I talked
about in the last pock because my boy, my boy's
a DV coach, My boy's a dB coach, and your
(13:52):
boy Tom Herman went all mad crazy. Guys can't cover it,
not this and not that. He's like, dude, coach. Uh,
they're a pretty good football team over there. That's those
NFL receivers. She didn't believe it, and sure enough, what
we see at the end of the year, that was
a national championship team. That was one of the best
offers to beat them.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Running back, you're running by the fumbles running. We had them,
We had them, We.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Had them, got them about the lot you mean like
last night, right, And that's what that's that's what teams
that can't get it done do, man, And that's why
the other team did what they did. Let's pick on Texas.
I'm just bringing up that's why I've seen Joe Burrow.
He and Chase have been doing this for a minute.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
No, no, they're they're special. But yeah, the Cowboys, you know,
Mike McCarthy talked about it. This was a game they
had to win if they were gonna And that's why
I said weeks past, if you want to really make
something of this momentum and make it real and put
some substance behind you know, we're playing better. Beat the Bengals.
(14:55):
You touched, you said the media masters, and we saw
what happened, and they had a chance to be the Bengals.
They were right there. They did everything they needed to do.
You know, they had much. They didn't play a perfect game.
Coopers didn't play a perfect game, but with two minutes left,
they blocked the punt. They stopped the Bengals offense. They
blocked the punt and had a chance to have the
(15:15):
ball last and kick a game, win the field goal.
Add on and keep this moment. I'm going going into
a game against Carolina and what beat you? Yeah, details
the details not like and the thing about it is
that we can talk about it, and I understand, Like
(15:38):
after the game, Cowboy teammates players would not let the
media talk to Aoh, they wouldn't let him talk to him,
you know, And and they're trying to protect him. He's
a big boy, he's a grown man, okay. And we
spoke stories about him when he had a great game
early to seeing that interceptions play, he played those stories
(16:00):
about it. Okay, there's nothing wrong with him answering what
he was thinking, what he was doing there, And you
can't tell me that. Mike McCarthy has this thing about
the leadership. That's why lets different people be captains and
young guys because he wants to teach them about leadership.
That's also teaching them abou leadership. Let him stand up
and explain what he was thinking. You sitting there protecting
(16:22):
him and not letting media talk y'all being wrong. No,
Dak Prescott answers that interceptions all the time. That Ceitie
Lamb answers questions about where he at the club and
whatever else. Why can't this man answer the question? We
do that Michael Partiers answer questions about whatever. What's wrong
with him answering a question about what he was thinking?
(16:44):
And he can say I'm sorry, he can say I
regret it and then I feel bad. There's nothing wrong
with that. That's been accountable.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
And you just hit on the right word there. It's accountability.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
And we have.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
We have a generation guys that don't want to be
accountable and then want to feel as though anytime you
want to ask about something that you're hating or you're
you're trying to get somebody.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
This is what it is like if you're there was
a difference in the game, the biggest play in the game,
and it was a turning point point in the football game,
and so we got to talk about it. We need
to talk to the person that that that that we're
responsible for it. It's not nobody's peaking on you.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Comes with the meal. It comes with the meal, and
it comes with the check.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
And you get paid to play this game. It's a job.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
One of the things that I've always believed and it's
just my my personal thing as a media member, when
you decide not to talk, that means other people have
to talk. And when other people talk for you, you
don't know what are they saying is correct or not.
Look look no further than Philadelphia when you got Graham
(18:00):
saying one thing about the quarterback and the wide receiver
out here. Now people have taken that, well, you know,
you out here talking for other people stead of letting
these people just talk.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
And Jared Jones openly after the game, but we're wondering
was he coached the right way. Does he know what
to do? Did he know the rules? Yeah, he knew
the rule. He knew what you're supposed to do. He's
not a rookie, you know, you can you know he
hasn't played a lot, but he's not a rookie. He's
been in the league. He's been the supposed to teams
meetings all his life. You know, this is this stuff
has been talked and.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
I also go back to this and we've seen it
time and time again. Guys are more than willing to
talk when something's good.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Oh yes, Like I said, we talked to big, big
stories on Marland the season when he came out of nowhere,
had a big game. You know, they kept him out
there in front of KLN Carson because he was playing well.
We'd like to write the field good stories. Nobody's taking
you know, that's it comes both ways.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
You were involved in a critical plays. It's if the
if somebody Okay, if you have a bad snap on
a field, you're going to go to the snappers, a
long snapper.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
This this is when it comes to miss the field goal.
We talked to Aubrey about what happened on on on
the block. Whatever that's part of what it is.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Yes, yes, yeah, that's that's that that that makes me
shake my head. And when you talk about just all right,
we're gonna you're gonna block him because you're quote unquote
trying to get with this what was the word again,
trying to I don't know what they was, just trying
to get him or you said no, you said they
they said you were wrong?
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah, yeah, they was, you know, like we were. People
were wrong, like unfair because we're asking them questions about
a football game. Yes, football, Yes, you.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Feel profession what you just got paid to go take
part in.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Everybody feels bad. Mike McCarthy talking about his job. I
mean seriously, you walk in and people talking about you
walking around here with my job in your back pocket.
You know, I mean this this that play could author careers.
We already talked about this. It's author careers, all right.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Michael Parsons walked off the field before the game was
officially over. Let's dive into that and just a season
that where yesterday the defense did enough, just did enough.
But at the end aunt the black punt, Jamar Chase
burned the Cowboys for forty yard touchdown. They lose twenty

Speaker 2 (22:53):
I keep up with social media.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Okay, right, Kaitlyn Clark.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
You know what's the new on social media day. Dak Prescott,
I have another baby. Yes, he and his wife was
on the Sports Illustrated swim Suita shoe and they made
the revealing sports in the sweating Illustrated swim Suita shoes.
She's gonna do in May, and I think of May
twenty fifth, I believe. And another girl, another girl for
(23:17):
the quarterback. No Dak juniors, no Dak, no future quarterbacks.
Another girl. But Dak's keeping busy. I see at Hamstring.
Ain't holding nothing back.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Good for Dak Prescott. Good for the good for Dak,
Uncle Tad, all those involved, so good, good, good, good
on them.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
And Mama.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Yes, sure it's another one, So good for him. Cowboys
lose twenty seven to twenty to the Cincinnati Bengals. The
Cowboys now fall to five and eight. We can go
ahead and just stop with the Hey, there could be
this December miracle run and this kind of thing. No,
they go face the Panthers and Charlotte this weekend. Then
it's Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Washington to end the season.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Here.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
What should Jerry Jones be most concerned about after this loss?
In your opinion too, I mean, I think that it's
the talent. I mean, upgrade and talent. I mean, one
thing he didn't concern himself with during the off season.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
You have to be better. I mean, certainly they had
a lot of injuries. You can talk about the coaching mistakes,
we can do whatever, but the depth, the talent was
not there to let them down. He has to upgrade
the talent. You know. Certainly at the forefront is what
is he gonna do about Mike McCarthy, you know, and
(24:38):
you got Dak, you have Troy a before the game
said Mike, he said he believes Mike's coming back. And
he said that before the game. I don't know, you know,
Michael Parsons come out and support him, Mike, Mike McCarthy
coming back, And you know, Jerry talked about it, you know,
(25:00):
because Dak is such a big part of the future,
you know, and finding someone to get the most out
of Dak is a big part of the decision making,
and Mike is part of that. Dak has had his
best success under Michae McCarthy. But remember this, thirty days
before he hired Mike McCarthy, he made similar comments about
(25:20):
Jason Garrett. He talked glowingly about Jack Garrett's coach. Garrett's
a man, He's the right man for the job. At
the end of the season, he let him go and
hire Mike McCarthy. So we have to be careful about
what is said right now, especially from Jerry, because he's
(25:43):
not going to go out there throw his coat under
the bus. He's not going to do that, and he's
not going to tip his hand. Stay with that.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Because what I have told people, and they'd asked me, Hey,
what do you think here, and I said, there's a
word I learned in business school. Depends how does the
season end. So you've now lost since to Cincinnati. People
have been paying attention to Carolina. Panthers have played good
football the last month, you know, had Kansas City in
(26:14):
a place they could have beat him, had Tampa Bay
in the place they could have beat him. Dallas could.
Dallas is very well but pretty much going down to
Charlotte this weekend for a fight in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Oh and and let's let's let's let's understand this a
pissed off Charlotte franchise and a Charlotte owner who did
not like the fact that the Cowboys used their stadium
till now. Jimmy Johnson was going to the Cowboys Ring
of Varna last.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Year and took over the Fox show, the Fox Free Games.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
It was their home game, you know, and so they like,
nobody cares about Carolina, let's let's do this. So they
they were not happy. They did not want it to happen. Okay,
so yeah, this is a team of momentum South for
a team that wants to give the Cowboys a little back,
little what's what for? You know, lit'll get back, you know,
(27:04):
so you have it, so all that matters. But if
you don't get my contract at twelve and five five
twelve five, no matter how the season ends, how can
you do it? Now? I don't think he's eighteen, but
it was eight nine or nine and eight, I don't know.
(27:25):
You know, it's gonna be hard person or or seventy ten? Well,
how can you do it? The only way you can
do it is because Mike thinking. The best case for
Mike McCarthy is not necessarily what he's doing for his
team and what this team is doing. They don't quit
on him. They play hard for him. So they made
some mistakes and he's had some injuries. Who else you're
(27:48):
gonna get? Who else is out there? Who else? Who
else is a better coach? So now you might have
a new voice, but who else? Who else is a
better better because you because you're not paying for the
kid in Detroit, Ben Johnson, he wants fifteen million a year.
He won't control and and your boy, and it's real quick.
(28:10):
Bill Belichick gave North Carolina a four hundred page organizational bible,
Stoy Manifesto, the outlined salary, structure, everything.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Tar Hill football in a new way, you know, bringing
Lawrence Taylor.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
To if somebody said I would have had I would
have had them with three plays. Look at his draft
class the last three years at New England. Say what
about this? You know draft so well? You think I
want you to pick in my groceries? I mean you can,
you can. It's the school that once hired John bun
I know, but I'm gonna talk about from a Cowboys.
I mean, you know, bringing that, you know, bring the
dollar or whatever, if that's that's an option. But because
(28:52):
Jerry loves my Bill Belichick. But again, who you gonna get?
Speaker 5 (28:57):
Who?
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Who is sexy? Who is gonna turn this thing around?
Tell me who's a better coach that's out there on
the market than Mike McCarthy unless you just want a
new voice.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
And that's why I kind of go back into how
does this end? Clarence.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
I don't know, you know, because if.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
This thing ends with losing three of you know games
this month, or you know, you get dusted up by
Phil me, how this ends matters because Jerry's going to listen.
He always telles he's gonna listen. What do the seats
look like for this Tampa Bay? Are you flexed out
on Sunday night? Most likely you are.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Now now because they they entertained people like watching the train.
Ain't nobody flexing the Cowboys to like people were talking
about before. They're not flexing them. They're not flexing the Cowboys.
They're not flexing the Cowboys on NBC is not flexing
the Cowboys. What to see the rains for Monday night.
You saw the rains last Thursday on Thanksgiving. They're not
(29:59):
flexing the caw Clarance.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
I know NBC wants to do everything possible to keep
the game and keep the Cowboys. I know this, But
you get beat by Charlotte, I mean, you get beating
Charlotte and Tampa Gas, then then it's going to be
a conversation. That's why beating the Bengals would have pretty
much guaranteed they were gonna be there.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
But we don't know yet.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
We'll we'll see, we'll see. But I just believe if
this thing, if this thing continues to pile up somewhere
else and that Tampa Bay game is flexed, and then
you got the Philadelphia game and people aren't showing let's see,
I mean the Washington Let's we'll.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
See, we'll see. The fans and stands are going to
impact the coaching decision.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Because if apathy sets in, you know what, it's already said,
set in before the season, and people disillusing more than
ever before the season.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
That's already been there. But I know Cowboy fans that
changed team before the season, it's set in, you know,
after Green Bay, and then after all it's already there, and.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Then there was a little bit of that hopium that
was floating around here after the two games. Yes, yes, oh,
not from the.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Fans, not no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
to stop it when they when they opened what three
and five?
Speaker 7 (31:13):
Was it?
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Three? Yeah? Three and five?
Speaker 7 (31:15):
No.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
I mean, first of all, the fans are disillusion upset
coming into the season. The Rockies start not winning home
cleaning the home game. I mean, they were, they were,
they were frustrated. I don't think that the end of
the season. People are numb at this point. I don't
think the end of the season is going to affect
the fan base more than the what happened in the
(31:35):
off season in the beginning of the season. The off
sea in the beginning of the season really affected the
fan base. The end of the season, everybody understands what
the deal is, you know, and now most of them,
the ones that are still here, are rooting for a
high draft pick. They've been on team Tank.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
I think I just believe Jerry will be emotional and
take into account with the fans are thinking towards the end.
If this thing is now could hey, let's end uh,
Let's get our last break in here. Let's get back
into Micah Parsons left the field upset here? Where's MICA's mindset?
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Here?
Speaker 3 (32:08):
And by the way, Parsons is due for a big
old contract, an elite contract, possibly the highest paid defensive
player in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Does he?
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Does he want to be here?
Speaker 2 (32:18):
You were?
Speaker 3 (32:18):
You have a good relationship with Michael Parsonlet's dive that
next with Clay till Aall City Dowllts on New Scars.

Back to media, Mash me mash final segment here getting
ready to go listen to some press conference here as
the cabal short week, they have to turn around and
get to Charlotte North Carolina face a Panthers team which
has improved as Bryce Young, who was benched earlier, is
now starting and playing again, as Andy Don't went down
(34:51):
and the Panthers are making some improvements. Claire Hill Wall City,
Dallas joins me any with Scruggs.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
Here.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
We saw Micah Parsons about six seven seconds walking off
the field yesterday. A bunch of means and a lot
of stuff that went out. There're your closer Partson still
waiting now you get on the podcast, so maybe sooner
or later you get there.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
We're we're not gonna be that media. Okay, we're not
gonna be first take. We're not gonna make a big
deal out of him walking off the field with six
seconds left, game over, frustrated as ever over Howard in it,
over everything else. This is not a guy that was
quitting on his team. This guy was out there giving
his all. Did you see him chase Joe Burrow just
(35:31):
like gets so first he jumped up and down like
like uh Wiley communists. I just can't catch it. But
he had a huge impact on this game. He had
he didn't never got home, but he had so many
pressures in this game. He was after Joe Burrow, he
had helped that defense, impacted that defense, and he was
(35:52):
a Saturday lockout of the game. I mean, it's not
a guy was running from anything, you know, he was
he got it. Mostly talked about crying, you know, over
overshown and what it happened. You know, loved that young
kid that's his you know, his teammate. So the images
and everybody wants to make a big deal out of
him walking out the field. Uh, it's blown out of proportion.
(36:15):
It's it's it's a nothing burger, you know. And Mike
McCarthy said it last night. We're all frustrated. Yeah, he's
frustrated and my and Michael said that was probably one
of his most disappointing and frustrated losses he's had a
long time, he said, was he said it was bigger
than green Back.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
And you saw the clip of mother on the Jumbo
Jerry and on TV, you know, looking up there and
you know what's going on when you're right, He was frustrated.
Still wants to be a cowboy.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
No doubt, you know, no no doubt he wants. I mean,
he loves it. That's the way. It was his dream.
And you know he's the one who talked about we
get all our guys back on and running back. You know,
I think that we get our guys back. Of course
that was before he lost over so uncause he was
looking at the future feeling good about it. But yeah,
I mean he grew up one be a cowboy, and
he grows the follow his favorite team. You know.
Speaker 6 (37:03):
He he.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
You know, basically spoken into existence about playing with We
talked about it last week. He said, you know this
this is what he wanted. Uh so, I don't think
none of that's changed. And they're gonna pay him. You know,
come on, they've been to give him the richest contract
ever for the non quarterback. So he gonna take that
(37:28):
right here in Texas with there is no state tax
and be happy.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
I'll tell you afterwards a conversation I had in the
press press box with somebody who who raised the question.
You know, so I don't want to I don't want
to put it out here.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
I don't want to put it out there. But I mean,
I think any any idea that Mike, I mean, first
of all, the Cowboys ain't letting him go, and they're
gonna pay him handsomely to stay here. So I mean,
it's it's it's a it's it's a moot point, you know.
It's it's not like he's not frustrated with the French ow.
He understands, you know, you got a limitations with Cooper,
he understands what was going on with the dinner. Well,
(38:05):
yet you want that game was a winnable game, and
then and and and so you just watch him, just
watch you. That's what killed me. But people don't this
man was giving it his all. He left. If you
watch that game, and people have a lot to say
about Michael Parsons with the podcasts and all the other stuff,
but watch him on the field. He was giving it
(38:28):
all and he chased Joe and chase Joe and chase
Joe and was trying to have an impact on that game.
And you you then you lose to Marvereon and he's
upset about that. Then the defense comes up with big
players sack and they have a chance to win, and
to to to lose it like that. Yeah, that's good
(38:48):
wrench it's gut wrenching, it's heartbreaking, it's frustrating, it's all
of that. And he felt all of that in that moment,
and so yeah, he walked out the field. Is in
the great words of Derek Coleman, whoop the damn do?
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Kids don't know who? Derek Coleman is a former All Americans,
Syracuse first overall pick by the New Jersey Nets and
played the league a long time.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
Derek Coleman, well the great sports quotes of all time.
Whooped the damn do? Somebody asks, you.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Know what, man, Let's end it there, Let's end it there. Uh,
there are press conferences. Today here at the Star Cowboys
have to get ready to go face a Panther team.
There's gonna be ready for them. And while the crowds
have been sparse in Charlotte this year, they will not
be sparse on Saturday, I should say on Sunday when
the Cowboys play them, because there are plenty of cowboy
(39:48):
fans in North.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
He'll be sparse. But it just you know, it'll be
a lot of cowboy fans. It's gonna be a.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
Lot of cowboy fans. Man, it's that time, so a
lot of people bought these Christmas gifts.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Won't be no Panther fans there.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Clarence Hill, all City, Dallas. I give me some boat Jangles.
We get to Charltie, give me some boat Jangles. Get
the airport, baby, That's why I was hitting at the
airport Jangles. They got the bone in there, the real deal,
the bone in there.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
And that you like that?
Speaker 3 (40:14):
That, that's what you like that for Chris Bean, Jazz Josh.
Everybody's a part of Douglas back line. We appreciate you
listening to the media. National Dallas Cowboys dot Com.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club
