he may not play he's having a great season. That

didn't even talk to the media for the first time.
So there's a chance he may not play. Uh, but

he's done this season. And Michael park I probably had
the quote of the year on CD. You know, he

and since he said, I looked at my toda he
said he basically says, see thes QB proof. You know,
he might be the best player that I've seen him
own eyes.

I don't think anybody should ever question how much CD
brings to the team or it's it factor.

I've seen him get a thousand with and the Dolton
to get a thousand with Dak Prescott get a thousand
with Cooper of Rush. He'll get grace to all these
other receivers and say, oh, they're not producing it because
they don't have their quarterback. But CD is showing time
and time again he could do with anybody throwing. He
can find a way to get open. He's competitive, he's
a dog. I just don't think he's comparable. That's why
I think he's the best.

That's also a perceptive quote, not just kind words, but
also said I really understand the game and what it's
all about and how, yeah, your guy can be missing,
but the best of the best can still figure out.

It's the players. Players got to set the tone. I mean,
even the great coaches, it still remains the players must
set the tone and carry out your wishes and carry out,
you know, help establish the culture that you're trying to
set as a coach, which is why if they're not
doing that, you get rid of them and get guys
in who can help you carry out your coach I

think the other thing you gotta understand as we get
older players come in or younger. The guys on this team,
a lot of them have grown up in a cell phone, Instagram,
text era. They're not even you to talk it because
how do all these conversations and group chats and texting
and for them to sit down and verbalize and have conversations. Really,

it's not something that they do on a regular basis.

teams who have not scored thirty points in the game
this season.

They wanted to like five teams.

The other five teams like three in like the Giants
or whatever.

is another third defensive, their defenses. Really they have not
given up. That means the other team has not scored
thirty points either. And you know you were talking about
the Cowboys and Men, how many times the defense couldn't stop.

I mean that that plays a role in how you
play quarterback and your ability to win games.

out the final two games of the season. We just
were talking about CD, and I felt that way when
the way talking turned to day about CD and Michael being,
you know, so giving him ultimate praise about him, and
certainly you talk to uh Cooper Rush. You talked to

Mike McCarthy about CD. You know, he didn't practice today,
he didn't talk to the media today. In the past,
he's even he hadn't practically limited practice. He talked to
the media. But the scans on CD's shoulder have determined
that his injuries now progressed to the point that it
will be listed as out for the remaining two games
of the season. He will go under a process of
treatment and rehabb for his shoulder and not currently expected

to require surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
You know, he's fought and played valiantly. I do believe
that if the Cowboys had something to play for, they
may may have made a different decision. But what's the
point of having him go out there and jump that shoulder?

And he talked about, you know, heard the worse.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
He talked about how painful it is, and you saw
every time he gets hit, every time he gets tackled.

You know, he's done Yeoman's work.

There's nothing more to prove. And I think even just
in our conversations with Ceedee Lamb and when he's talked,
it has bothered him what people things, people have said
about the money and everything else. But Ceedee Lamb is
more than proving himself. And I I could argue, and
I did on the last show. I think he's the
team's MVP.

I don't think you got argue, but okay, time on
offense defensive, the total team had the kicker.

That's what Hector. Harrison sat in that chair and said
the same thing you did and said the kicker. And
I said to me, it kind of reminds me of

P where you know somebody's getting out there playing every day.

Right, But you know, Ceedee Lamb is making the plays
and getting down the field. You get the course again
the quarterback situation. You got no help on the other side.
Even the person you thought was going to help a
little bit. Ferguson has not had the year you thought,
and hey man, we getting double doing all this. He's
hurt to me when when I look at Cedee Lamb,
to me, I don't think there's anybody who had a

better season with all the circumstances and everything in him.
Brandon Aubrey is a fantastic player. He's going to make
All Pro at his position. But to me, when I
think of MVP of this team, give me semb And I.

Think that's part of the conversation because I think Brandon
Arberts had the better season. Now, MVP valuable what you've
done for the team. I see the case made for
CD Lamb. But as far as the best player at
what he's done, I don't think a few player in
the league who've been better than Brandon Aubrey what he

has to do the game in the game out, and
I think he should be the first team All Pro
kicker and all of that. But when you talk about
most value, and that's what we get to talk about,
who's having the best season, who's more value but player,
which we were talking earlier about the quarterback, I would
not argue that CD has been the most valuable.

Because Brandon ain't kicking no field goals if CD ain't playing.

And I started to think, here, here's Mike McCarthy possibly
could save his job if CD Lamb. Hey shoulders out
tapped me out, you know for three four games ago,
probably not any position to even win these games. And
I said, you know, Brandon Arby's lining up kicking some
fifty eight yards and whatnot. But it's it's not because

Jalen Brooks. It's because Lamb.

Yes, and it came up because there's a chance that
he may not play he's having a great season. That
he didn't practice to day, Jerry said, we'll see how
he feels. Certainly he's labored through some things. He hasn't
practiced a lot over the last month.

But it was a little different this week because he
didn't even talk to the media for the first time.
So there's a chance he may not play. Uh, but
you know, it's just Thursday. We'll learn on on you
tomorrow and Saturday whether he plays. But it's a good
chance to take stock and who ced is and what
he's done this season. And Michael park I probably had
the quote of the year on CD. You know, he

said several quotes of the year. Yeah, but you know,
and since he said, I looked at my toda he
said he basically says, see thes QB proof. You know,
he might be the best player that I've seen him
own eyes.

He's the man. He loves the game of football.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
I don't think anybody should ever question how much CD
brings to the team or it's it factor.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
He's QB proof.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
I've seen him get a thousand with and the Dolton
to get a thousand with Dak Prescott get a thousand
with Cooper of Rush. He'll get grace to all these
other receivers and say, oh, they're not producing it because
they don't have their quarterback. But CD is showing time
and time again he could do with anybody throwing. He
can find a way to get open. He's competitive, he's
a dog. I just don't think he's comparable. That's why
I think he's the best.

That's also a perceptive quote, not just kind words, but
also said I really understand the game and what it's
all about and how, yeah, your guy can be missing,
but the best of the best can still figure out.

And I think it took him some time to figure
out how to coexist with Cooper Rush, because those first
three or four games were like six for thirty five
for twenty two, and then he finally figured out how
what routes worked best for them and how they could
make it happen.

I remember talking to Hall of Famer Tim Brown and
he said to me, sometimes as a receiver, you gotta
make the quarterback. And Tim was obviously that good because
he caught some passes from some guys. Billy Joe Hobert
said a word.

maybe players who was not quite as big time.

And and one thing I like about Michael because he
wants it, which, as I said at the time, which
I got in trouble with the Michael, with the Micha
McCarthy thing, is he was trying to give us something.
You know, he really cares about any things, a deep thinker.
He was trying to give us something. He said too much,
but he was trying to give us something. And that's
what Michael. And then you get that you remember, you

remember back to the day they knew when they said something,
that's some good stuff right there, you know.

how Michael. And like I said, what Michael was trying,
and he does it. He's a great talker, you know,
and he does sometimes it goes overboard, but everybody can't
hit the home run at back, but he gives you
want to be there and listen to him talk.

Yeah, it was He's good. But we've been spoiled, The
three of us have been spoiled because we got.

But I'm just something this day and age though, you
don't get guys that are like that though, you know,
and they they try to be a minimalists and they
don't try to say something, they don't try to get
in trouble. And then you know, you know, Mike just
he speaks it just like today you were there to day.
We were asking Mike, and I asked a question about
Mike McCarthy and I said, you know, are you happy

that he's not trying to to tank tank and he's
playing to win and in the attitude he's trying to
he's not trying to run guys.

He said, it's us. Look at us, were trying to
play the win.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
You see, we had nothing to play for last week
and guys gave it all, so he don't get a
political yea, Mike doing the good. You know, he says
what's on his mind, what he thinks, the same thing
about Zimmer and they were talking about, you know, he
was asked about Zimer with Zimmer's on.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
He said, not as us. You know, we've learned and
it's and it's the whole locker room.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
And he said, and he's right, Zim Zimmer, don't scream
no more, you know, because everybody thoughts Zim will come
in dog cussing and screaming.

He talks above a whisper. You know.

He tells he just lined up guys, and it's the
other coaches's the players.

We give Zver the credit because he's coordinator, but it's
all of the guys who have been a big part
of this revamping of the defense.

Agree. Agree. I think that what Michael says is something
that you'll hear the great coaches talk about, Greg Popovich,
Bill belichicks.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
It's the players. Players got to set the tone. I mean,
even the great coaches, it still remains the players must
set the tone and carry out your wishes and carry out,
you know, help establish the culture that you're trying to
set as a coach, which is why if they're not
doing that, you get rid of them and get guys
in who can help you carry out your coach I

think the other thing you gotta understand as we get
older players come in or younger. The guys on this team,
a lot of them have grown up in a cell phone, Instagram,
text era. They're not even you to talk it because
how do all these conversations and group chats and texting
and for them to sit down and verbalize and have conversations. Really,

it's not something that they do on a regular basis.

That is a fair point. We are dealing with different
types of athletes now and then with kids.

I mean the way these people grew up, these kids,
which is like our kids. I mean the same thing

got all his acronyms in there. I'm like, I don't

Yeah, but but it's the overall conversation about is it
about the best player or the best player on the
best team, And that's that's what we're talking about.

about the best player and and doesn't necessarily like last
year Lamar.

had a triple crown defense.

But but but the defense this year is not nearest
good the defenselast year.

Last year's defense was he said, a triple ground defense.

They let the league in yards and points and everything else,
and that made a difference in their overall team success.

And what's funny it is, ain't nobody talking about Pat
Mahomes and it's fourteen and one team.

No, because his numbers are bad, But his numbers are
appriestly worse than if it.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Was in the if they was in the same category,
be a different story.

And Mahomes is also I talked to him that last
podcast player, Mahomes is your victim of your own success.
You have really points well, you know, you didn't do
the year we did give it to you. You did this,
this and that, so we're not gonna do it.

But again it's his numbers are bad.

But what's the bottom line that we talk about all
the time.

But at the end of the quarterbacks but at the
end of the day, you have to you still have
to put up comparable numbers. And if somebody tweeted the
other day, the Kansas City was one of like five
teams who have not scored thirty points in the game
this season.

Everything has been a great defense.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
They wanted to like five teams.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
The other five teams like three in like the Giants
or whatever.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
They're all bad.

Teams except kans City. They're fifteen to one everybody another.
The other teams have not one more than three games.
They have not scored more than third. They have not
scored thirty points game one.

Now, you know, it's interesting about all this.

That's crazy though. I know what the they got.

Is that that's a very good conversation. And if you
poll the players in the NFL, as we're talking about
who's the most valuable player, you said you down five, you.

Going pat No, there's no question about that.

But but but it also speaks to the larger point
is another third defensive, their defenses. Really they have not
given up. That means the other team has not scored
thirty points either. And you know you were talking about
the Cowboys and Men, how many times the defense couldn't stop.

A nose bleed.

I mean that that plays a role in how you
play quarterback and your ability to win games.

When people know you got to pass. Joe Burrow knows, Okay,
guess what, here comes the heat and you're getting it done.
And there's definitely something to be to be said for that.
I kind of go back to what Randy Galloway had
used to talk about when he was a calmnist here
in town. He said, there's no winners on losers. What
do he do is his MVP body? Randy Galloway just

thought was if your team is losing, I can't give
you an MVP. Some people feel differently, but that was
that was his his thing.

out the final two games of the season. We just
were talking about CD, and I felt that way when
the way talking turned to day about CD and Michael being,
you know, so giving him ultimate praise about him, and
certainly you talk to uh Cooper Rush. You talked to

Mike McCarthy about CD. You know, he didn't practice today,
he didn't talk to the media today. In the past,
he's even he hadn't practically limited practice. He talked to
the media. But the scans on CD's shoulder have determined
that his injuries now progressed to the point that it
will be listed as out for the remaining two games
of the season. He will go under a process of
treatment and rehabb for his shoulder and not currently expected
(17:40):
to require surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
You know, he's fought and played valiantly. I do believe
that if the Cowboys had something to play for, they
may may have made a different decision. But what's the
point of having him go out there and jump that shoulder?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
And he talked about, you know, heard the worse.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
He talked about how painful it is, and you saw
every time he gets hit, every time he gets tackled.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
You know, he's done Yeoman's work.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
There's nothing more to prove. And I think even just
in our conversations with Ceedee Lamb and when he's talked,
it has bothered him what people things, people have said
about the money and everything else. But Ceedee Lamb is
more than proving himself. And I I could argue, and
I did on the last show. I think he's the
team's MVP.

I don't think you got argue, but okay, time on
offense defensive, the total team had the kicker.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
That's what Hector. Harrison sat in that chair and said
the same thing you did and said the kicker. And
I said to me, it kind of reminds me of
baseball when you're gonna put a picture on m v
P where you know somebody's getting out there playing every day.

I mean that wasn't you say a starter? I said,
he's more like a closer or right.

Right, But you know, Ceedee Lamb is making the plays
and getting down the field. You get the course again
the quarterback situation. You got no help on the other side.
Even the person you thought was going to help a
little bit. Ferguson has not had the year you thought,
and hey man, we getting double doing all this. He's
hurt to me when when I look at Cedee Lamb,
to me, I don't think there's anybody who had a

better season with all the circumstances and everything in him.
Brandon Aubrey is a fantastic player. He's going to make
All Pro at his position. But to me, when I
think of MVP of this team, give me semb And I.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
Think that's part of the conversation because I think Brandon
Arberts had the better season. Now, MVP valuable what you've
done for the team. I see the case made for
CD Lamb. But as far as the best player at
what he's done, I don't think a few player in
the league who've been better than Brandon Aubrey what he

has to do the game in the game out, and
I think he should be the first team All Pro
kicker and all of that. But when you talk about
most value, and that's what we get to talk about,
who's having the best season, who's more value but player,
which we were talking earlier about the quarterback, I would
not argue that CD has been the most valuable.

Because Brandon ain't kicking no field goals if CD ain't playing.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
And I started to think, here, here's Mike McCarthy possibly
could save his job if CD Lamb. Hey shoulders out
tapped me out, you know for three four games ago,
probably not any position to even win these games. And
I said, you know, Brandon Arby's lining up kicking some
fifty eight yards and whatnot. But it's it's not because

Jalen Brooks. It's because Lamb.

Maybe because of Jalen Brooks and Jalen Toba.

This week about to show us the Eagles without CD
Lamb because he opens up so much and he was

the things you could count on, the modes and Cee lamp.

This is a tall order for Cooper Russi, the quarterback.

And you remember last week that office was certainly different
than the second half.

The first half. Once that script is out.

Yeah, they couldn't do anything.

And that defense safety and it's gonna be and Mike
and really the biggest and listen, and I think Cooper
Rush said about it today. We talked about QB wins
and everybody, you're talking about you got to be able
to win Cooper Rush because asked them, well you're eighting
three or eight and four at the starting quarterback.

He says, so that Kooby wins. That is so.

Messed up because a lot of it has to do
with the defense, a lot of to do turnover, a
lot of they play a role in us winning games,
and and so they're you know, the Quby wins status
is out of wack. I think people are finally waking
