Speaker 1 (00:03):
No to Jim Sooky with the Panthers postgame show preseming
by Southern Star aun official bourbon of the Carolina Panthers
celebrate the spirit of the Carolinas.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Rocking on this right, what is this feeling?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (00:26):
No, The Panthers win at home as they get by
the New Orleans Saints twenty three, twenty two with Bryce
Young making a second consecutive start was solid. And then
it was Chuba Hubbard running for two touchdowns in this game.
It was a rookie receiver, but in the tight end
form of Jatavian Sanders today right, well, new big target,

(00:46):
four catches eighty seven yards and then the defense closing
it out of that final four down sequence there.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
So uh, Eugene and.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Mike, it's it's great just to have a win for
a team that had lost five in a row.

Speaker 5 (00:57):
I know the Saints have been struggling.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
This is their seventh concent have lost, of course, but
for Carolina and he wins a great.

Speaker 6 (01:02):
Winner, refreshing, refreshing that you could just see the air,
I mean just kind of lifted in this whole place
from the stadium. There's so many fans that's so excited
about this moment here it is you just kind of
win the game winning one game. Does it cures a
lot of ills? I mean, it's not gonna go ahead
and cure cancer, but it cares a lot of ills,
no doubt about that. And to be on the plus

(01:24):
side at the long stretch of two teams that are
really kind of floundery, to be on that plus side
feels absolutely good.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
And it should feel good.

Speaker 7 (01:34):
And how many times have we gone into the fourth
quarter or in the middle of the fourth quarter falling
behind and then you think, all right, game's over, not
a chance but to for Bryce Young to go down
and then uh, you know, a game winning drive on
the line, able to execute that. Now those big passing
and affairs play you know, oh you.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Gotta count It took annage of that, but count them.

Speaker 7 (01:53):
Yes, no, But I mean you had some really big,
big drives, yes, by the offense and overcoming adversity with
the interception, which really shouldn't go no, no, but look,
this was it was professional football, and it was the
drives were the offense really, you know, looked like they

(02:14):
were starting to gell And.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
So here it is.

Speaker 6 (02:16):
I really thought that the defense had a bin but
don't break mentality the entire game. When you when we
get into the stats a little bit later on, you're
gonna tell it, it looks like, man, it looks like
the things just absolutely blew us out stats wise.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
However, that wasn't a narrative.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
Making plays when it comes, when it counts, it makes
a big, big difference in no bigger play than d
Javier Clowney getting that sack really on that last play,
and I thought that was a sack by the entire
defensive front. But Jack de Long was calling for, Hey,
my closers need to step up. They need to step up.
Well guess what they stepped up, and that sack was huge,

(02:54):
huge player right there. And so big up's the defense
a ben but no break, don't break mentality.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
That really pay some diffidency.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Well, just to give credit, he shared that with Charles Harris,
by the way, statistically as far as that, so it
really was a team sack overall, the only sack of
the day. But Mike a nice timing on that one.

Speaker 7 (03:11):
Right, No, I mean it was uh, it was great.
It was almost like they had the magic pen up there.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
In the booth.

Speaker 8 (03:16):
Magic from from jams slips.

Speaker 7 (03:18):
To uh Jadavian Clowney and you know, Harris's uh ears
there to to get those sacks, but to kind of
echo what Eugene was talking about. Also, Panthers had one
field goal and they held offensively the Saints to three
field goals, and I think that was a.

Speaker 8 (03:34):
Huge point too. Absolutely going back to that Ben don't
break mentality.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
Because when the Saints in the very first drive, the
way the Saints moved down the field somewhat easily, I
was like, oh man, you can't get a touchdown and
we could just hold him to a field goal, that
would be that would be golden. And we were able
to hold him to a field goal. Net will say, absolutely,
I'm with.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
You fast right there.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
I'm with the fast right there.

Speaker 8 (03:55):
Somebody smiling faces.

Speaker 6 (03:59):
And baking extending, but absolutely right though. But that that
stoppage in the very first quarter that paid dividends right there.
And that's that Bin but don't break mentality that we
saw today from the defense and.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Mike not overwhelming stats from Bryce sixteen out of twenty
six hundred and seventy one yards a touchdown in an interception,
ran for just ten yards on four carries. But again,
the game managery is not a bad phrase. You don't
want to lose the game. You want to execute the offense.
And that's what you were looking for from him, was just,
you know, a guy that could execute the offense. Now,
could it be more productive? Absolutely? This was the thirty

(04:30):
second ranked defense in the league, so you expected him
to be have a less of a I guess a
competition than what he had against Denver on the road
last week. But again we're seeing some growth and some
signs out of Bryce Young at the quarterback position.

Speaker 8 (04:43):
And what you really want to see there is protecting
the football.

Speaker 7 (04:45):
And again going back to that interception, you know Xavier
didn't quite hold on to it and the ball was
dripped away before possession was established, and then the defensive
player established possession that became an interception.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
So that wasn't on Bryce at all.

Speaker 7 (04:59):
No, But the point is outside of that, no other
no fumbles, no interceptions. And what has Dave Canal has
been preaching since training camp is one of the things
that this team needs to do to be successful is
to hold on protect the football.

Speaker 8 (05:13):
And they were able to do that to it.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
And let me give a coach Canto some credit here,
offensively because the ball this time did not move laterally
like it has been in the past and moved down
the field and we saw a strength down to maybe
Cocher or more deep down the field. And I was like, good, stress,
stress the game, even though you don't make it. Who cash,
you're putting that defense on notice that we're gonna go

(05:36):
ahead and go over the top of you. So I
thought the plays that we saw uh Bryce Young make
with the ball throwing, they were deeper down the field
and that had to be the narrator today.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
And that was a good job by him today.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
It wasn't stellar, but it wasn't It wasn't badly at
all and.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Has to do well for his confidence to go for
it was good enough and as they said, do year
one eleventh and so I think he did what was
expect to have his role today and let the let
your teammates help you win the game. We'll take a
time out when we come back, Michael, have a scoreboard.

Speaker 4 (06:06):

Speaker 8 (07:06):
Definitely go get the power.

Speaker 7 (07:11):
Well Carolina in this game, winning twenty three to twenty two.
Some real exciting games around the league as well Atlanta
at home. They get a big win over Dallas twenty
seven to twenty one, three touchdowns, no interceptions in that game.
Last week Panthers lose at Denver. Today Denver loses on
the road at Baltimore the Ravens forty one to ten

(07:32):
over the Broncos. Lamar Jackson at three touchdowns only sixteen
of nineteen for two hundred eighty yards and Derek Henry
on hundred and six yards on.

Speaker 8 (07:39):
The ground with two touchdowns. Wow, big day for him.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
Buffalo Squeaks by Miami thirty to twenty seven. Josh Allen
threw for two hundred thirty five yards, three touchdowns and
an interception.

Speaker 8 (07:49):
Cincinnati.

Speaker 7 (07:50):
We saw them earlier here at Bank of America Stadium.
They beat Las Vegas, also another former Panthers opponent from
the season of Panthers.

Speaker 8 (07:57):
Other win so forty one to twenty four.

Speaker 7 (08:00):
Cincinnati Joe Burrow two hundred and fifty one yards in
the air, five passing touchdowns.

Speaker 8 (08:05):
Wow, he had one interception.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
Chargers on the road beat Cleveland twenty seven to ten.

Speaker 8 (08:10):
Jamis Winston threw three picks in that game. Justin Herbert Man.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
He's either great, oh he's done. Yeah, that's Jamis. Yeah,
he's great.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
He's either famous Jameis or infamous Jambis.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Right.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
The Washington Commanders beat the New York Giants. Panthers next opponent,
we'll see them in Germany next week. Twenty seven to
twenty two for the Commanders, Yearants, Jayden and Daniels two
hundred nine yards in the air with two touchdowns, no interceptions,
and Tennessee at home. They go overtime with New England.
Nick Folk has a twenty five yard field goal to
put the Titans in the lead twenty to seventeen. Then

(08:43):
first and ten from the New England forty one. Unfortunately,
Drake May gets picked off. Tennessee goes on to seal
that game twenty to seventeen in overtime. And taking a
look at the late games going on right now, Philadelphia
has the ball. They have a seven to nothing lead
over Jacksonville about midway through the first period there.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
And Detroit and the Packers just started.

Speaker 7 (09:01):
And yeah that's well, see yep, six to one. Detroit
is at six into green Bay. The Rams are in Seattle.
That game just kicking off as Walt tonight, Indianapolis at
Minnesota and then Tampa Bay at Kansas City Chiefs trying
to stay as the lone undefeated team in the NFL
at seven and zero going into the game.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Tonight, I tell you what these uh, this division is like.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
No one's running away with it. Nope.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
And with the Panthers, I guess we we catch New
Orleans now right. We both have two wins, yeah, two
and seven two.

Speaker 8 (09:33):
And TAA Bays four and four.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
So at least we got company, I know. And we're
not We're.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Not mathematically eliminated.

Speaker 8 (09:42):
We got a chance.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
We also matched last year's win total and we still
have a big chunk of the season story in.

Speaker 8 (09:47):
Avtable game coming looming ahead in Munich.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
And this was the game we were talking about that
if you're gonna go ahead and get right, you need
to get right on this game because the Saints are floundering.
The Saints also have a lot of people that injured.
The the defense is really precarious at death. So Bryce,
this is a time for you to really go off
and to not only be safe, but a little bit
dangerous and aggressive to get the ball down the field.

(10:10):
And I thought that he played really really well. I
thought he managed the game well and let me go
back to that interception. That interception is.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Not on Bryce. That was a great good night by a.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
Defender taking the ball away from a really good receiver,
Loo guy.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
And just to show you like what that play means.
I mean, if you look at his stats.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
If that's completion's made, he throws her two hundred yards
no interceptions with a touchdown. Would that changed a lot
as far as just like how his day looks on
a piece of paper versus from the eyeball test of
seeing how he played out there there.

Speaker 6 (10:37):
And thinking that the coaches go based on what they
know and what they see the actual empirical evidence out
on the field.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
So that standpoint, that's a good thing, a real good thing.

Speaker 7 (10:47):
You know, you don't know if one game carries over
to the next. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. But
you feel like this has the potential to be a
building block type.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Of Oh so I really hope so for Bryce.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
I want it for Bryce because I just know as
a young player at quarterback, your mind is really frag you've.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Got to be really stillly focused.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
I mean, think about this Peyton manage, Peyton Manning, because
I know he didn't have a great start, But he
thinks that he's the best player.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
On earth, you know, and you have to think that
way as a quarterback.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
And so I hope his ego and I hope his
self esteem is not suffered based on what we've seen
this year.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
I think to some degree as far as not trying
to make his bigger than it was.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
It wasn't like we on the Super Bowl today, the
pressure was on him.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
I feel like if he had played poorly, Andy Dalton's
thomb is healed enough, next week, he's probably the starter exactly.
And now I think Bryce has earned the right to
obviously keep going. You never changed when you well, you know,
you never changed when you win.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
And hey, we need to have a Chris Gammer going
and slept and to.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Keep pounding drugs. We don't change anything, Gamble.

Speaker 6 (11:51):
To keep pounding drum. But yeah, you don't want to
change anything. And I thought Bryce really earned himself back
in the day. I mean, he moved in the pocket, well,
he saw the field really well. I know he's going
against the thirty second defense, but guess what, you still
gotta make those.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
Plays well worth the thirty second offense.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Thought there exactly, all right, we got much to get
to well, we'll hear from the guys in the booth,
we will hear from a coach Canalis, We'll hear from
some of these Panther players. But first of time out,
Panthers win twenty three twenty two over New Orleans and
you're listening to Panthers Football brought to you by Morris Jenkins.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
This He's the Tanthers Postgame Show, presently by Southern Star,
unofficial bourbon of the Carolina Panthers. Celebrate the spirit of
the Carolinas.

Speaker 9 (12:37):
Z read gifts Straight up the Middle, touchdown, touchdown, Carolina.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Reaction and analysis to today's game with special guests, highlights
and updates from around the league.

Speaker 9 (12:48):
Complete touchdown right side, next the catch, touchdown Panthers Now.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
What about it?

Speaker 9 (12:55):
Now?

Speaker 1 (12:55):
What Now? To chinz Oki with the Panthers postgame Show,
exclusively on the Carolina Panthers Radio Network.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
A win for the Panthers today twenty three, twenty two
over the New Orleans Saints as the Panthers improved a
record two to seven now and snap a five game
losing streak, and Bryce Young one hundred seventy one yards
passing a touchdown in the wind to go with one
interception along.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
The way as well, and he's the up in the booth. Well,
they're up in the booth.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
They're talking to him down somewhere else in the state.
I probably knew the locker room somewhere with Bryce Young.

Speaker 9 (13:28):
We're here with Panthers quarterback Bryce Young. Bryce, What did
it mean? Here's sweet Caroline again.

Speaker 10 (13:35):
Yeah, it felt great. You know, it's just it's a
great feeling. Obviously anytime you can win this league. So
you know, we'll worry about tomorrow, you know, cleaning stuff
up and getting better. But right now, it's definitely, definitely
feels great.

Speaker 9 (13:49):
This was a closely contested game throughout in that fourth quarter.
What did it take?

Speaker 3 (13:55):
It took everything.

Speaker 10 (13:56):
It just took us sticking together. I think that was
really the biggest thing, you know, again, back and forth
game throughout and just through that especially that that last
drive on both sides of the ball on us. Just
believing in ourselves, sticking together, playing for each other. I
think that's that's really what pushed us over the top.

Speaker 11 (14:13):
Price is Jake, Congratulations, So happy for you guys, you
and the team.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
All right, here's my question.

Speaker 11 (14:20):
I watched you today smile more on the field on
the sideline, first one running out the tunnel when the
team was let out. Today i've seen more excitement. Was
the month out of sitting and watching? Did you decompress?
What did you learn about yourself? About the team? You

(14:41):
just seemed like there was a lot more confidence in
everything about you today.

Speaker 10 (14:46):
Yeah, you know, I definitely am a firm believer that
everything happens for a reason, you know, things obviously you
can put things in perspective with the last month, so
you know, it was definitely just grateful to be out there,
to be having fun, you know, playing with the guys,
and you know, during that time, just trying to learn,
trying to play the game from the sideline, grow as
much as I can, and then you know, continue to

(15:07):
try to build.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
So uh and also thank you.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Great to talk to you today. I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Nice makes me feel so old. Bryce, what's up? It's Luke.

Speaker 12 (15:18):
Just want to say obviously congratulations good win at home
and it's gonna talk about some of these young guys Xavier,
Jalen Cocher, j T.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Sanders, and just how far they've come this year.

Speaker 10 (15:28):
Yeah, you know those guys, you know, especially like you said,
all three rookies you just named that have really stepped
up in big moments throughout the season have been huge
for us. And it's just a testament to how they work,
you know, how talented of guys.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
They are great guys as well.

Speaker 10 (15:44):
And then you know, especially you know, with all the
stuff going on, so much movement on them, being able
to play different roles, step up and and not miss
abeat has been been great. And you know x and
Jalen both went down hurt and came back again, no
no flinch, no complaining, pushing through injuries during the game too.
You know, I have all the conference in the world

(16:05):
and those guys, so it's just great to see them
be the same people. They've been just consistent, hardworking guys.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Good.

Speaker 12 (16:10):
We're gonna do this interview next week in German, So
I get ready.

Speaker 9 (16:15):
Rice, before we let you go, you brought up you know,
Exavierly get the play where he has the ball that
it's taken away from him, it goes down as an interception,
and then he comes back on the next drive to
make that huge third down catch. What did that say
about the young wide receiver?

Speaker 10 (16:32):
Yeah, you know one, I have all the all the
conference in the world in him and also just his
mental fortitude. Again obviously, you know it's a it's a
tough swing, the moment play. You know, dB made a
great play on the ball and then for him to
just you know, go back to the sideline, came back immediately,
he say, hey, my bad, I'm good, you know, come
back to me. And just that confidence that he has
in himself, not being phased at all, and you know,

(16:54):
making a huge play in a big gotta have it moment.
You know, after that, that just speaks to the mental
fortitudo d.

Speaker 9 (16:59):
As, Bryce, we appreciate it. Congratulations, enjoy the wind, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
I appreciate you. Guys.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
You know, Bryce Young never got to do a victory
formation until this one because if you think about her
two wins last or or walk off field goals, so
it hasn't really had that moment where you get to
be on the field and bring it in like that.
So it's good to see something that something positive happened
for him in this situation.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
And this is what football can only do for you
is educate you at that quarterback position. He talked about
it's been a tough butt. You heard, you can hear it.
In his voice a little bit, and you can hit
a relief in his voice to that, Hey, yeah, I'm
sitting on a bench, I'm learning, I'm watching, I'm looking.
Don't like it, but I'm waiting for my chance. He
gets his chance today and he plays really well. I

(17:43):
thought he managed the game really well and he didn't
get frustrated out of the receiver getting the ball taken
away from him. And it's now it's called interceptions. Look,
quarterbacks don't like to throw in a substance, and this
should change that stat to mix sure, because sometimes it's
on the receiver, but always the quarterback get blamed. And
he was like, hey, this is a testament to his

(18:03):
intestinal forty two. Well, Bryce is the testament to your
intestinal forty to two two. Because you went back to
leget where you could easily going back to anybody else, right.

Speaker 8 (18:12):
And quarterbacks one position you can't hide.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Nope, you know.

Speaker 7 (18:15):
I mean there's other positions where maybe you can kind
of slink away a little bit, but quarterbacks they can't.
And you have to have a short it's almost like
a closer in baseball. You have to have a short memory.
And so for him to be able to have that confidence,
and you know that's built up during the week when
when they're doing all that stuff in practice. And it's
really great to see the growth that Bryce Young is made.
Now we just need to see that continue.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
And he threw the ball really well.

Speaker 6 (18:35):
There was one that I thought had a chance to
be a testout in a defensive back ripped it out
of maybe was it Cocher or More's hand towards down
there towards the end zone, but a beautifully thrown down
and I'm going, oh my goodness, this is a that
ball being thrown that way should always end up in
testdown unless the defensive back does something great.

Speaker 8 (18:54):
Well.

Speaker 6 (18:54):
Their defensive backs had a couple of plays out there
that really made a big difference for for the Saints
at that time.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
And that one on More I thought that we talked
about it while we were watching it. I thought it
was a mistake by More because he tried to catch
you down around his waist. Put your hands up, catch
because you have the defensive back come and get it.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
And also as you put your hands up, reach out
for the ball because and you extin, you're happy to
get that your hans back in quickly. So yeah, there
was some there was some definent uh receiver maybe error
on there that they they wish they had it back
and so but Bryce, I thought you played well, young man.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
Yep, did a lot that I thought you played well.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Did his part had help with to Tavian Saners, Chuba Hubbard,
Uh some other guys will talk about as we continue
here on the Southern Starbourban post game show.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
First we'll take a time out. More to come as
we continue.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
The Panthers win over New Orleans twenty three, twenty two
on the Carolina Panthers Radio Network. A team win, if ever,
was when twenty three twenty two, the Panthers win over
the New Orleans Saints could pick up their second win
of the season snap a five game losing streak.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
We'll listen back to.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
A couple of the calls from this game and with
the Panthers. It was early on where Bryce Young had
his first touchdown drive it was set up the touchdown
was by this one. A pair of rookies involved in
this drive. Jaalen Coker first of all, with his eighteen
yard catch.

Speaker 9 (20:21):
Three receivers in a triangle bunch to the left, one
to the right, Miles Sanders off the right hip of Young.
Shotgun snap quick screen, left side poker gets a block
tunnels inside the ten. He's got the five diving toward
the pylon and he stepped out of bounds at the
four yard line.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
The kid just makes plays.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
It's pick out of the kids.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
It would be the first round pick another rookie here.
It is Exavierly get the three yard touchdown. Grab to
get the Panthers first touchdown of the game.

Speaker 9 (20:53):
Three receivers right, one to the left. Young is in
the shotgun hundred off his left hip. Saints crowd the
line of scrimmage. Shotgun snap helmet high, Bryce throws back
of the end zone.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Touchdown.

Speaker 9 (21:05):
Excel Xavier League get us fourth touchdown.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Of the season.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
And then it was Cuba Hubbard scoring not once but
twice in the game. This a one yard touchdown run
at part of his seventy two yards on the ground.

Speaker 9 (21:20):
Second down in goal from the one Cuba again the
deep back Young crouches under center.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Two tight ends in the game. Here's the snack give.

Speaker 9 (21:31):
To Cuba, groundhogs forward into the end zone. Touchdown Carolina
and the Panthers go back on top.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Incredible Cuba roundhogging his way into the end zone. Java
Sanders had four catches eighty seven yards, So you think
about it. As for the Panthers, the top three receivers
in this game are all rookies. Javian Sanders eighty seven yards,
Jalen Cocher thirty six, Exavier Loguet thirty three from a
second year quarterback in Bryce Young.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
What am I looking at it?

Speaker 2 (21:59):
This Eagle game?

Speaker 6 (22:01):
Barley claw Barkley running and spinning. As he spins, he's
about to get hit from the behind, and he jumps
over a guy backwards backwards. Yes, leap frogged him back.

Speaker 5 (22:10):
He frogged backwards.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (22:12):
But and on one of those touchdowns, Jatavian Sanders did
that on the sideline.

Speaker 8 (22:16):
Yeah, yeah, kind of leaped over one of the Saints.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
He got like a little kung Fu kicking berchon.

Speaker 8 (22:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:21):
But the height he was at too, because the defensive
back had to be at least bout five ten, five eleven.
He leaped over the top of the defensive back on
the sideline, kept his feet and then still picked up
another fifteen yards. That was one of the most exciting
players I saw this year.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Yes, and then you had another kid today Demani Richard said,
I was asking you, Gene in the free game.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
I said, what did you think about Demani? Last week?

Speaker 4 (22:43):
He had his first start. Last week in Denver, he
had eleven tackles. Today he leads the Panthers with twelve tackles,
eight solo tackles.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
Out there at the safety position.

Speaker 6 (22:51):
She reminds me of Mike Minner when I when I
watched him and you pointed him out, I saw focusing
on him. He's always around the ball. From the running standpoint,
He's always around the ball. He's going to have a
chance to go ahead and really be you really instrumental
and kind of like Jeremy.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Chin was when he first got here.

Speaker 6 (23:11):
He has that type of neck, a little bit and ferocious,
and it reminds me some of Mike Minner.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Just a tough dude.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
And so I like the fact that he can tackle,
but the fact that he's around the ball. That's gonna
be bothe weal for the Carolina. Yes, it does, it does. Indeed,
I'll tell you what. He looked really good, Richardson.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
You look good, absolutely all right. So we'll take a
break with come back. We'll hear from the head coach
Dave Canalis and more to come. Here in the aftermath
of a win twenty three, twenty two Panthers over the Saints.
You're listening to Panthers Football, brought to you by Morris Jenkins.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Back to the Panthers postgame show, presumed by Southern Star
un official bourbon of the Carolina. Panthers celebrate the spirit
of the Carolinas.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
And if you drink Southern Star bourbon, you will sound
just like that man right there, Southern Star. It's so
good and get them, but we appreciate them. We love
the folks.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
We met them in person and had autograph bottles from them.
A Southern Star Bourbon postgame show rolls on here the
Panthers locker room show. He's brought to you by Southern
Star official bourbon of the Carolina. Panthers celebrate the spirit
of the Carolina and that it was time to hear
from the coach Dave Cadellis.

Speaker 9 (24:26):
We're joined by Panthers head coach Dave Knaalis. Dave first
home win, What did it mean to hear? Sweet Caroline?

Speaker 13 (24:33):
It was fantastic and just the way it happened, fourth down,
gotta have it a one on one opportunity, Mike Jack
comes up big and the sideline just exploded. It was
a special moment.

Speaker 11 (24:43):
Yeah, coach is Jake certainly a lot of superlatives to
go around young kids making plays on offence.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
I guess the big thing.

Speaker 11 (24:52):
For me, and I'll just keep saying it, Brady Christiansen
to go out to left tackle. I just from sin
to left tackle and really and truly, besides the two
point play that I'm not so sure that was his fault,
I just talk about his play a little bit, and
what he's done is position versatility.

Speaker 13 (25:09):
Yeah, just a man's man, Jake, a guy that you
know steps in and says, well, I'll do whatever it
takes to.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Help the team, you know.

Speaker 13 (25:15):
And the flexibility that he's shown, you know, even just
to play the center position, you know, and and really
execute the way he did, didn't pop out to you know,
not just tackle, but left tackle, you know, and to
just show up big for us today. I can't say
enough about Brady.

Speaker 12 (25:34):
Coach Luke here, congratulations. I just talk about that opening
drive to start the second half, and you know, we
get the ball in the minus fourteen yard line, run
all the way down there. Big big play by J. T. Sanders,
people making plays all over the place. I think it
kind of gave us a boost going into that second half.

Speaker 13 (25:51):
Oh, it's huge, you know, it's it's uh you know.
And the interesting thing too, Luke, is like we've had
great opening drives to the game, you know, and to
come out for the second half with that finish mentality,
you know, to to continue to try to take advantage
of things that we see was huge. You know, just
for the continuity, the consistency that we've been asking for
from our group and for those guys to continue to

(26:13):
make the most of their opportunities when they come to
him was awesome.

Speaker 9 (26:17):
Dave, We've been singing the praises of this rookie class,
the draft e's, the undrafted guys the last few weeks.
And the play that stood out the two plays exavierly
get looks like he has the reception, it's ripped from him,
and then on the next drive comes up with that
huge third down catch.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
What does that say about?

Speaker 9 (26:34):
You know, what you have in a young rookie that
he can bounce back from adversity so quickly.

Speaker 13 (26:38):
Yeah, it's the discipline that it takes to just keep
coming back to work. And keep working on your basics
and your fundamentals. And these guys are committed to it.
They're committed to growing. You know, the staff is committed
to developing these guys, and then you know they keep
making the most of these opportunities, you know, and and
it's an unbelievable play. You know, by the corner on
the interception play, you know where Xavier runs a perfect

(27:01):
route exactly how we wanted it, and you know'd love
to see a different outcome, but to bounce back in
to make a critical, you know play for us, right
there was.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
Huge coach ngrats, best of luck going to Germany this.

Speaker 11 (27:12):
Week, this week and there's nothing better than No Sweet
Caroline playing in bak of America Stadium.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
No doubt.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
Thanks guys, Thanks David for taking the tour worldwide.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
We go to Germany.

Speaker 11 (27:24):
Who's going, Yeah, we're going to Munich.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
That table is going to Germany.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Nice you all go to Germany.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
Table right to Jeff to hope we'll see you over there.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Will be there for a good chuck of the week
coming up here, looking forward to it. With the Panthers
going on a roll with a win, always a good
vibe to come off with that twenty three twenty two.
You know, they mentioned a lot of the guys that
played well in the game, and we hadn't had a
chance to talk with you about Brady Christensen and again
played some center. Yes, I wasn't playing wasn't in your

(27:56):
starting five, that's how deep you were.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
Then he's playing center. Then he's play left tay probably
natural position is guard, So it's just amazing what he
can do.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
And I thought he did a wonderful job.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
When you're playing a left tackle, you have to be
alert for the wide nine, I mean a guy on
the outside of you up the field beating your quarterback down.
And Jake Delane was absolutely correct that sack that happened
to Bryce wasn't really his fault because as he's pushing
them past the quarterback, you look for the quarterback to
step in. He didn't step in because there was a

(28:27):
guy that was in front of him that prevented that.
So he stepped backwards and that happened in the sack.
This is a team game. Sacks don't happen to Vacuum
is always something that happens to the entire offensive line
that helps with a sack, and so from that to
that point, I thought Brady has been doing a really
good job.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Once that center at guard and now I tackle.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
Wow, that's the fighter stats bike we talked about.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Don't know the exception that's not on the quarterback within
the sack, that's not on the lineman. My exact quarterbacks
pocket awareness.

Speaker 7 (28:57):
Right right, And when you think of it, it's you know,
it's three different thing positions with different football Oh yes,
different hand uh you know techniques how you want to
you know, not reach, but you know, get into the
get into your defenders.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Remember Brady's overcoming those short arms that Matt Rules said
that he had this and not that.

Speaker 6 (29:14):
But you gotta go ahead, and you're working with the
center and the guard. You're working with the guard in
the tackle, you're working with the tackle and the tight end.
You're working with the running back to your side. You
have so many You have to be the Swiss Army
knife to go ahead and jump to and play tackle,
no doubt about that.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
You have to be that guy.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
All right, We will take a time out here. You
get here.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
We're having a good time here in the North Lounge
with folks watching the four o'clock games. Lions just get
on board as they get a touchdown to go up
on Green Bay six to three, pending the extra point. Michael,
have another scoreboard update coming up in a couple of
segments from now and then when we come back, we'll
get the guys in the booth, Luke and Jake with
de Niche and their final thoughts as we roll through
more of our post game show at Bank of America Stadium.

(29:53):
Panthers win over the Saints twenty three twenty two. On
the Carolina Panthers Radio Network, Panthers went twenty three twenty
two over the Saints. You didn't see if I started
talking before I supposed to. Twenty three twenty two Panthers
win over the Saints. Injury updates and brought to you

(30:14):
by Ahrim Healthy. You deserve to live your best life
and Atrium Health is here to help.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Of course.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
The big injury news overall today was Chris Olave left
the game with the concussion for New Orleans.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
He was taken to the hospital.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
He has been released from the hospital and he is
returning back with the Saints on their flight.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
So that's all good news right there.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
It was released from Atriam. Was he yes? I thought?

Speaker 4 (30:33):
Was it actually from matrim this it was where else
would you go? But atriam healthy. You deserve to live
your wrest life. And for the Panthers in game, Exavier
Lagette had the hand injury, but obviously.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
He came back and played in the second half.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Let's pause ten seconds for station identification. All along the
Carolina Panthers or radio network like along with the Eugene Robinson,
Mike Pachico, Jim Zochi with you here, we check back
in with the guys in the booth to get their
final thoughts from today's win.

Speaker 9 (30:56):
Any Sharp, Jake de Lobe, Blue Kickley Carolina in the
win column for the second time this season, twenty three
to twenty two. They knock off the Saints. This was
a New Orleans team that in Week one beat Carolina
forty seven to ten, one of the worst losses in
franchise history. Bryce Young struggled in that game. Two starts later,

(31:18):
he was benched. Well now Young's second start in place
of the injured Andy Dalton. He led the game winning drive,
Chewba Hubbard the game winning touchdown. But Luke, the story
for me in this game was we continue to see
this rookie class the draftees and the undrafted guys make
plays and step up. You're starting to see the foundational

(31:41):
layer of where things could be headed.

Speaker 12 (31:44):
Are you one hundred percent nailed to niche the foundational layer?
Where where are guys that we can hang our hats
on in two three years when these guys.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Are in the third fourth year of their careers, And like.

Speaker 12 (31:55):
You said, we're starting to see some of those guys,
especially on the offensive side of the ball. We knew
we needed to help out the offense this year, so
we went and signed some guys up front, and then
we drafted a ton of guys in the offense side
of the ball. Lagatt. We obviously haven't seen Brooks yet.
JT Sanders, Jalen Coker has done a really good job.
Demani Richardson playing physical on the defense side of the ball.

(32:18):
He hit a couple pressures. He had a big punch
out on the sideline that was there was a penalty,
so he didn't get credit for it. But these young
guys are stepping up, and especially guys like j T.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Sanders.

Speaker 12 (32:27):
You could see early in the season he hit a
couple jumped off sides on big third downs, would catch
a ball on the flat. Not turn around and get
up field, get stuff for short short make it a
fourth down. Now moving forward. Now he's blocking Chase Young
on the edge. He's converting, He's jumping over Tyron Matthew.
He's catching big balls and high pointing stuff. He hit
the big the big pass interference penalty on that last drive.

(32:50):
Xavier Lagette goes across the middle of the field, has
the big catch over the middle, had the touchdown catch.
Jalen Cocher high pointing footballs. I mean just kind of
look around and the guys that we drafted were halfway
through the season looked like they're really starting to settle
in and help us win football games.

Speaker 9 (33:07):
It's great to see and Jake taking advantage of opportunities.
It's something the Panthers were able to do today. I
also thought the defense down the stretch in the fourth
quarter came up with the needed stops.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
No, absolutely, and I think that's one of my notes
I have down the defense.

Speaker 11 (33:24):
It's still a concern just due to getting a pass rush,
stopping the run game because Camara ran in very well today,
But when it mattered most.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
The defense came up.

Speaker 11 (33:33):
Jenavion Clowney We didn't call his name a bunch today,
but he was starting to get some pressures. Trevor Pinning
a couple of series in a row, get penalties called
on him. That's clowney. When it was time to show up,
he showed up some. I think one thing the touchback
on the last drive, you hit on it during the game,
Eddie bounced the ball right at the one yard line

(33:54):
and then they got it.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
That's a twenty.

Speaker 11 (33:56):
That's ten yards and they only needed a field goal
from the thirty to the twenty. I'm sorry that that's huge.
That was very, very big. That's something that I hope
doesn't go unnoticed, just little things like that. But I
think Luke kidd it, JT. Sanders Kocher's making play and
leget Yes, they had the interception against him when the
ball was taken from him, but come back and make

(34:17):
another play, made another touchdown this week. We're just we're
getting I think we're getting closer on deep balls. I
truly believe we're getting closer. It's gonna happen, and you know, Bryce,
there's some baby steps that are coming. I'm we saw
confidence today, which I don't think we've seen a.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Ton of it. The interception was not his fault, No,
it wasn't his fault.

Speaker 11 (34:36):
But the confidence on a throw down the scene a
couple other confidence balls today, and that's gonna continue to grow.
You saw a smile on his face on the sideline
during the game, which I don't know if I saw
last year. I certainly didn't see it early in the season.
So things like that, and there's so much more we
can clean up. You know, I'm not sure the delay
of game or timeout we had earlier, the two point

(34:57):
conversion of the delay a game, So we can get
so much better.

Speaker 9 (35:01):
Unsung heroes like Cade May's starting at center holding his own.
Brady Christiansen, who is the renaissance man of that offensive line.
We have seen him start at tackle, at guard, at center,
he goes back to left tackle filling in for Icky.
We hardly noticed.

Speaker 11 (35:18):
Yeah, you're right, and really and truly the one time
he gave up it was on the two point conversion.
But I'm not I'm not so sure that was his fault,
to be quite honest. And you know what Brady Christiansen
did today, he just made his bank account bigger. For
what happens, He's gonna be a free agent, right, the
position versatility that he possessed. I mean, those guys you're
putting on positive things on tape. Yeah, and I love

(35:39):
that he's a Panther. Hopefully continue to be a Panther.
But those guys, they've done a good job. And give
credit to this coaching staff. I truly believe that. I
mean Cam Gill, when did we sign him two weeks ago?
I just it's things like that. That just Jonathan Harris,
same thing. We're playing Demani Richardson. Just a young kid, undrafted, developed,

(36:00):
develop developed, getting there and plays two weeks of double
digit tackles back to back. So yeah, listen, we feel good.
You can hear it in our voice. You can hear
it in everybody's voice. Everybody leaving the stadium today, the
locker room, I'm sure is a static.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
That's fun.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Man.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
You play this game to win. You play this game
to win.

Speaker 9 (36:17):
The Bratwurst will taste that much better. Next week in Munich,
Panthers off to Germany to take on the Giants a
week from today. That will be a winnable game. Then
there is a bye week, and I think what we
all wanted to see from this team that had its
question marks, and that's had its injuries. Can they get

(36:39):
better as the season moves along. Yes, the Saints were
depleted in the secondary and without Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed,
But we have said that about other teams early in
the season and the results weren't the same. The Panthers
get the win. They do it against a team that
beat them by thirty seven in Week one. Turn Up,

(37:00):
Neil Diamond, A little Louder celebrate tonight final score Carolina
twenty three, New Orleans twenty two.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
Mike Patica, the Red Sox fan, has had a lot
of that song, and we've heard that.

Speaker 8 (37:12):
I know a lot of Davidson folks like they hear that.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
Yeah, yeah, you never get tired of hearing get though, right,
because that means something good.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Happened, right.

Speaker 8 (37:20):
Absolutely, it's tween Caroline we're talk about, not like Long
Fellow Serenade or you know some other song sung Blue.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
I didn't even know that one. You said, what's the one?

Speaker 8 (37:32):
Longfellow Serenade.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
It's a lot.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Like a novel.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Yeah, that's what.

Speaker 5 (37:44):
You have to sing up so we know what it is.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Long Fellow.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
Mike's good.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
I'm not.

Speaker 8 (37:52):
That's a different that's a different contract, Mike.

Speaker 6 (37:55):
We won't do it.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
We won't do it.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
When we come back.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
Christian Babonie will answer the question did she get to
hear Sweet Caroline after lo follow and to get her
thoughts from the sidelines as she saw it from there.
Mike's got a scoreboard update all coming up. Panthers win
twenty three twenty two over New Orleans. You will see
the Panthers Football brought you by Morris Jenkins.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Back to Jim's OK with more of the Panthers postgame show.
Pre see im a by Southern Star Aun official bourbon
of the Carolina Panthers celebrate the spirit of the Carolinas.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
So I talk now Matt to try to produce a
show professionally. I'm just staring at him. You want us
to talk now? He's being all professional and silent. Panthers
win twenty three to twenty two over the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
That's been a big weekend here because you have the
Charlotte FFC playoffs world on Friday.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Panthers win on Saunday, christa big Carolina's concert.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Last weekend I raced the twenty five million Yeah, twenty
four million.

Speaker 5 (38:56):
Awesome and the top it all off. We've got Kristin
Balboni coming up.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
We do that.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
Mike's got a quick scoreboard update for us.

Speaker 7 (39:02):
All right, Jim, This drive around the League brought to
you by the Honda Dealers of the Carolinas Cardinals at
home leading the Bears right now seven to six, Eagles
over the Jaguars ten others.

Speaker 8 (39:11):
We saw a crazy Saquon.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Bark Yeah, going back, No TVs are doing.

Speaker 7 (39:17):
Somersault, Green Bay at home, losing to the Lions seven
to three, no score, Rams and Seahawks. Coming up tonight
will be the Colts of the Vikings, and then on
Monday night it's Tampa Bay and Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (39:30):
Christian Balboni fresh off the sidelines making our way. Appreciate
you coming down here.

Speaker 14 (39:33):
Yeah, well I'm just now I got to go and
see what the Saquon Barkley play was all about.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
It was. It was incredible, most incredible play we see.
Oh yes, it'll be in all the highlights.

Speaker 4 (39:44):
I bet it's number one of the old top ten,
as they say, but up on the list for us.
Today's Hey, anytime the Panthers win the way it's been
going in the past couple of years is great. What
was the vibe on the sidelines and with the guys
on the just the emotion of getting a win.

Speaker 14 (39:58):
Yeah, I mean it was just incredible as as you
might imagine. And like I said, even while I was
just telling you this gym before we came on the air,
even just walking so I was back in the locker room,
and the guys are just thrilled, you know, the support staff,
everyone is thrilled. But even walking up to the radio
booth and then coming here, you know, see these fans,
these wonderful fans. Everyone is so excited. The stadium workers,

(40:22):
everyone is so excited. People are you know, high fiving
and it's it's wonderful. And that's what it does for
this building, for this organization, for the fans, the city
of Charlotte, And it was just so nice to see
as I was coming down here and getting to talk
to everyone. You know, the night is extra special.

Speaker 6 (40:40):
I want you to contrast that with what we saw
with a lave because every football player you fear something
like that, and now you become that it's not about
teams or partisan stuff.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
It's like all about that player.

Speaker 5 (40:54):
Yes, Oh, it was just off.

Speaker 14 (40:56):
I have goosebumpsy thinking about it. As you guys know,
when you saw it, that silence you never ever want
to see or hear that silence when you know, as
you said, Mike Jack, our cornerback immediately called for the
medical personnel after that hit that Xavier Woods you know,
gave him, and of course you just feel so bad
for Xavier Woods too. Of course, I mean, of course

(41:18):
a lot of it is the main focus. But then
you just see, like you said, Eugene, just all the silence,
you hear it, and then both teams come out and
guys are praying, and then you know, I was telling
our producer David Linton, I said, I think they're going
to stretcher him out, and that is just such a scary,
scary moment. And Eugene, of course, you know better than
anyone the risk that all football players go into that.

(41:41):
And to see the entire team come up, the entire
Saints team come up and you know, give him a
hat as he was leaving. It was just it was
really emotional.

Speaker 6 (41:47):
It's really and to see the Science of Life two
of him shaking hands, that was really really good and
it's relieving for every football player, because you always fear
something like that happened to you or to one of
your teammates or to the other team, and you.

Speaker 14 (42:00):
Think, you know, it shades of the more Hamlin anything exactly,
someone goes down for an extended period of time, and
certainly there have been really bad injuries before and after,
and so I'm not just trying to say that that
is the worst one, but it's a scary scene moment,
and I'm so I'm so happy to hear that he
is he's been released to the team, Thank goodness.

Speaker 7 (42:18):
Yeah, it's just so difficult in that situation too, because
I think for that next play or two, everybody's trying
to get their bearings and kind of get because it's,
you know, trying to get back to business after something
that's really difficult.

Speaker 14 (42:30):
How do you do that, you know, you know, both
for the Saints, who certainly their mind is there, and
then also for the Panther's defense, you know, and to think, oh,
my gosh, this happened and he's okay, and yeah it
was while we were out on the field. That's just
you know, it's very admirable though that everyone was able
to a keep him in their thoughts and you know,
really keep him in their mind while he was there

(42:51):
and then also be able to continue and continue to
play with with the emotion.

Speaker 6 (42:55):
That that well, speaking of the defense, I wanted to
turn to that towards the end of the game. I
thought the defense did a great job of bending but
not breaking. But the sack between Clowney and Harris that
I thought that really submitted or at least gave us
so much pushing, so much, so much confidence going into
the play we saw Jack make on the.

Speaker 8 (43:15):
On the sideline, I think absolutely right.

Speaker 14 (43:17):
So you see both the offense go down the field
and score to go ahead, right, and then you see
those those defensive plays as you just said, amazing, Right,
that's what you want to see. When to end this
game on a week.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
Where they traded away, when their star players as far
as Deontay Johnson on the offensive side, what was Bryce
Young's emotions Like, did you get to see him after
the game, because we've seen him so many times on
the sidelines, his head down, he's ok at the tablet,
he's frustrated.

Speaker 5 (43:46):
That had to be a huge side relief. Again, it
wasn't like he won the game. It's like they won
the game, and he did his part in the victory,
but that's gotta be a big relief from overall.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
I would think.

Speaker 14 (43:54):
Yeah, and like you said, it was a team game,
but you have to know that's the storyline, right, and
that's what everyone is watching to see how he does
with this opportunity. And yeah, you know what I think
it was that. I think it was that first touchdown,
that first touchdown drive where JD. Sanders had those big
catches right and then Bryce ran it up to the
two yard line and was able to break a tackle,

(44:17):
and that touchdown was I think the thing that you
really started to see those smiles come out. You start
to see guys come over and congratulate him, and it
really feels like the tide was turning.

Speaker 9 (44:27):
Now.

Speaker 14 (44:27):
He did have the offense, I should say, had some
bad three and ounce after that, but then that it
just felt like that drive down the field with Chewba
at the end, that was a continuation of that momentum
and confidence that he started out with with that first drive.
And then to see him after, you know, he's got
that signature of Bryce young smile, you know, it like
lights up his whole face. That was certainly on display.

(44:47):
And then also just to see the camaraderie between the
other players and him. You know, usually he's the one
congratulating guys, giving them words of encouragement, and we got
to see that the other way, which I know has
got to feel good and at home too.

Speaker 6 (44:59):
I thought also was book about the confidence that coach
Kanalis has and Bryce because the ball got pushed down
the field more so today that we you know, it's
been going laterally and you'd know him that on sideline,
but we saw today the ball go down the field.

Speaker 14 (45:13):
Yes, we saw some shots and some of them they
didn't work out so well, right, and and but it
puts you on notice. Yes, absolutely, you come out and
that's what I like that we kept going back to it.
And then you know, even that even that interception where
Xavier get dropped it, I think we can all agree
that it was not on Bryce. That was a nice

(45:33):
throw to get there. And I think if you saw
they really get on the sideline, you would know that
he thought it was on him too. Poor guy, I mean,
just beating himself up about it.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
Remember he had the hand injury too, that's.

Speaker 14 (45:44):
What you think, Well, I do think that had something
to do with it, because that was the that was
the hand that it got ripped out of. But I
thought there was some big steps for Bryce.

Speaker 3 (45:53):
Did you guys see the Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 8 (45:55):
I was gonna say for this game. You know, you
can't always say this in every game, but this feels
like a game that they can build off of.

Speaker 14 (46:02):
Yes, And I think that's what everyone was saying afterwards.
We know we heard the guys in the booth stay
that we heard. I was just talking to Cuba after
the game, and I said, what does it mean to
this team? And he said the same thing. He said,
it feels like we can build off this. And as
Eugene was saying, it wasn't just I mean, we saw
some complimentary football down there the end. That's the that's
the word that every coach likes to use.

Speaker 8 (46:22):
We saw a fourth quarter game when he drives exactly.

Speaker 14 (46:24):
And we saw some big defensive stuff.

Speaker 7 (46:26):
Yes, yeah, big stop when they needed it. We got
in the sack from the clowney Yeah, in Harris, the
share set, yes, carlss not Jonathan.

Speaker 3 (46:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (46:35):
And again we got Demani Richards.

Speaker 4 (46:37):
As we mentioned, his twelve tackle is making two weeks
ago he started, and he's got the most tackles both weeks,
so twenty three tackles us.

Speaker 6 (46:44):
He really looks like he's going to be the guy.
Like when I look at him at safety, I'm like, oh,
he's a guy thirty six.

Speaker 5 (46:50):
That's the guy I am.

Speaker 14 (46:52):
He has been so impressive and he is someone that
in training camp, I asked Dave Canalis what one of
his favorite memories was, and he said that there was
his rookie song that they did. They all made fun
of him for it. I can't remember what it was,
was like a nineties R and B song, and so
we had to keep redoing it and redoing it. And
then he got two picks in practice, and so the
DJ started playing the song and the entire team ran

(47:15):
down there and we're celebrating him because they knew it
was a big for him, right being a rookie, and
Canal said like, if we could just capture that moment,
then that's what we want. And they thought he was
such a special player. And then to see him come
out and do it, as you said, in his second
start in the regular season, you know, it's kind of
like the Jalen Cocher of the defense, someone that this
staff and this team knew could be special, and now

(47:38):
we're getting to see some of these young guys just
really step up.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
Yeap Vick and the most of their opportunities. Well, Christian,
thanks for staying late and spending some time with us.

Speaker 5 (47:45):
Well, appreciate when you do.

Speaker 8 (47:46):
That's fair having me.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
I enjoyed it.

Speaker 14 (47:47):
I'm glad to be here for a win.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
Yes, that it.

Speaker 5 (47:51):
Us. Yeah, it makes the content that much more enjoyable.

Speaker 4 (47:53):
All right, one final time out, One final segment to come,
including our hardest working player and some more as we
wrap things up next year. From the stadium in the
North Lounge. Twenty three, twenty two, Panthers win over New Orleans.
You're listening to Panthers Football brought to you by Morris Jenkins.

Speaker 1 (48:06):

Star unofficial bourbon of the Carolina Panthers. Celebrate the spirit

Speaker 5 (48:19):
All right, to join the Panthers victory with all the
fans here, they start to make their way up.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
Appreciate everybody hanging out for a while. We went through
all the Neil Diamond songs we could think of, and
U and co. Yeah, coming to America was not mentioned
on their off air. But yeah, coming to America, Kentucky woman,
They're coming to America.

Speaker 5 (48:38):
We could do that when we win.

Speaker 4 (48:39):
And if when we went on Eunich next week afterwards,
we could see them coming to America.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
We can do that going back to America. America.

Speaker 5 (48:50):
We have to see any party all the time.

Speaker 8 (48:54):
They might kick you out of Germany for singing that song.

Speaker 6 (48:56):
Watch Coby, right man, you got copy right laws protection.
People wanted the piece of the pie.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
That's right. Tickle sate Chico song. It was Chico on us.

Speaker 8 (49:06):
What we are on a music station.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
I think we're covered. We're good. Yeah, okay, yes we are.

Speaker 8 (49:10):
I think I think as CAPI and my fees are covered.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
Bring us to our speak of hard rock. The Hardest
Working Player of the Game, presented by Sandel Reynolds. Well
wait till I get done, the official Reynold equipment partner
of the Carolina Panthers, Eugene, would you like to go first?

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Sanders?

Speaker 6 (49:27):
I thought Sander's played exceptionally well. And just to jump
alone over top of a man, over two people, and
to continue to go down and field, I thought that
was special.

Speaker 7 (49:35):
And I think Sanders for that reason, I agree with him,
but also it's great to see an emerging tight end
because exactly that that just frees up it helps them
in the running game because if you have that threat,
obviously helps in the passing game, but kind of helps open.

Speaker 8 (49:49):
Up the field a little bit.

Speaker 4 (49:51):
Oh, Richison Richards Well, I was actually gonna go another direction.
And that was the guy we talked a lot a
little bit earlier.

Speaker 5 (49:57):
Brady Christiansen. Wow, played it was again.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
This is a guy that wasn't even in the starting
five on the offensive line. Play center, now place left tackle.
That's not easy.

Speaker 6 (50:06):
Okay, you know what I'm changing. My mother don't have
to I'm changing. I'm going with Zoe Christmasen.

Speaker 5 (50:14):
You said, Sanders in the middle of me doing the
open and by.

Speaker 4 (50:17):
The end of the segment you're doing Christensen, christ They're
all they're all contributors. We take all that christ Christian
Christian Sin, Christian Christensen, Brady Christiansen, All right, guys, it's
time for our We do kind of our version of
final thoughts are three and outs.

Speaker 5 (50:31):
So Mike you wago first.

Speaker 7 (50:32):
As far as your final I'm gonna start up because
I think it was so important that this offense not
only had the drives in the middle of the game,
but the Bryce Young and the offense were able to
put together game winning drive when it counted in the
fourth quarter. I think that's gonna be a big building
block moving forward.

Speaker 6 (50:46):
No, deficively, I thought that there was a bin but
don't break mentality. But there were plays that people stepped
up and absolutely made and I thought Jack on the
corner did a great job.

Speaker 11 (50:58):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (50:59):
We talked about that sack. That's what we need to
have going forward. It's like, you got to make the
plays that come to you. When they come to you.
You have to be able to go ahead and perform.
And we were able to do that. And so I
like what I say. Defensively, I want to be a
little bit stout against the run. We weren't stout against
the run. However, I'll take a win any day. He

(51:19):
could have a thousand yards, but we won the game.
Who cares that you have a thousand yards? We won
the game, and today we won a game with some
good defense too.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
And I'm just gonna say one more time, shout out
to Debryce Young because this was a game with a
lot of pressure on him and he came out today
and he performed admirably, and again it wasn't the huge
stats in that game, but he did a lot of
things that don't show up because of turnovers, drop passes,
things like that too, where it could have been even
bigger numbers for him. But I thought he did a
heck of a job and just doing something under an

(51:49):
amount of pressure that he had to do was given
the to some people. A surprise second start with the
recovery of Andy Dalton from the thumb injury. This week
thanks to our crew Harold Amrick, Jerry Dowd, Window Black,
David Eats, Matt Hogan. Oh right here, Bibran Pupman, I'll

Speaker 5 (52:16):
That's our crewdrum.

Speaker 4 (52:18):
Next week, our first ever game from Germany is the
Panthers play in Munich against the New York Giants. We'll
talk to you then again. The final score here Panthers
went over the Saints twenty three, twenty two.

Speaker 5 (52:26):
