Speaker 1 (00:03):
Now to Jim Zoki with the Panthers postgame show preseming
by Southern Star un official bourbon of the Carolina Panthers
celebrate the spirit of the Carolinas.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
All right, along with you, Gene and Sharon, Jim with
you not the postgame show. We had written a plan
to do home goodness. No Panthers take the lead with
thirty seconds to go in regulation on a touchdown pass
to Adam Thielen. Can't keep the Bucks and check for
thirty seconds though Chase McLaughlin with a fifty one yard

(00:38):
field goal ties the game, sends it to overtime. Bucks
get the ball first in overtime, but they miss on
a fifty five yard field goal. Panthers infield goal range
Chuba Hubbard fumble at the thirty of Tampa Bay and
they come down. McLaughlin gets in our chance, ends it
with a thirty yard field goal. I mean, I don't
know who first coined the phrase gut wrenching, my goodness,

(00:58):
but we're stealing it today because that was a gut
ranging Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
This was a really hard game, and because I thought
we were gonna be able to report some great news. Uh,
the Panthers coming off that Kansas City game looked really
really good and I thought that, well, you know what,
we got some opportunity. I thought, well, we kind of
maybe lost the game was on special teams.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
I thought that.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Pinero typically is extremely good, extremely really accurate and really sure.
But today those two field goals really cost And I
know it's not just on him, but as a special
team guy, when you come in, you're expecting if you're
in thirty yards, you're expecting that to be automatic. That's
just an automatic deal. It's like a extra point. And

(01:41):
and when we didn't, uh, and when we did we
didn't make those things, I was like, man, that's gonna
come back to Honus.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
And it's it's a valid point. And I would I
would say it's all three units if you think about it,
sharing because of what Eugene just said. The defense, all
he had to do is hold him in check for
thirty seconds, you know that get in the field goal range.
And then again, Chuba, we're not in this game, we're
not in this season without you. A Hubberd said, no,
he's mad at you. But but at that fumble, you know
they're going to go raking for the ball. At that point. Absolutely,
and so Sharon, when they when he lost that, you're

(02:07):
at the twenty nine yard line at that point, you're
already in field goal range.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
And then it's like you said, in the final thirty seconds,
you know exactly what they're going to do. They're gonna
go to Mike Evans, and you know it's like you
need to have somebody that blank him, and of course
he makes that killer catch to set up the field goal,
and it's yeah, Cuba, I hated for him because he's
just a guy that he's out there every single.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Day before practice, before games with that jugs machine. He
practices like a model.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Control and everything's ball say a protection so much more
than anybody. And to have that have him be the
one to do that with that fumble and.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
The ball was ripped out of his hands, so I
got to give.

Speaker 6 (02:42):
The raked Anthony Nelson, Yeah, I got.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
A good give it to tip of big guy some
credit because he took the ball from him, ripped it
out of his hands, and you know that you have
to expect that down there, and I don't think that
he was expecting to have the ball forcibly ripped out
of his hands.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
If this game had occurred after the two wins, we
probably would be treating it like the Kansas City game, like, well, yeah,
but look at the improvement. But when you do it
two weeks in rows, like.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Especially like that the last second field goal to kill you,
that's just brutal too.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, as they say, good teams find ways to win
and bad teams don't. And we're again or a team
that's certainly much improved in the last month. But that's
just you know, that's heartbreaking because Bryce drew for basically
three hundred yards two ninety eight with a touchdown again,
didn't throw a pick in this game, and continues to
look the part. I mean, it looks like, you know,
that starting quarterback job is his.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
What Bryce really did, when I thought all day long,
was his anticipation of when you make your break, where
you're going to be. He threw the ball before the
receiver made the break a number of times and was
spot on, and then when he was in trouble, he
threw the ball away. And I'm like, Bryce, that's what
you have to do as a quarterback. And I think
the fact that he was benched, I think that I

(03:56):
think that goes a long way. You start to reevaluate
yourself and what you're doing and what's working, what's not working,
and I'll tell you what the way they moved in
the pocket, or have them move out of the pocket.
That was one of the recipes that is successful for
Bryce because now he can use his feet to go
ahead and run the great things.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
And he was spectacular all day long in my.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
Opinion, especially that throw that he had when he was
in trouble and was on the run and found Tommy
Trumball down. Oh absolutely, Now, that was really impressive. That's
the Bryce that everybody was expecting him to be. And
so I think I agree sitting him for those couple
of games made a huge difference for him and being
able to see things from a different perspective, to learn
the game a little differently, and then to be able
to gain that confidence. Yes, I mean, he's just playing

(04:39):
so much more confident every game he's out here.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
He sees the field extremely well, and there's no doubt
about that because he's making throws before the runner as
making his break. I'm going, that's what you and that's
what you do. That's what the great quarterbacks do. They
anticipate where you're going to be at and they throw
it to a spot. There was some times where he
drops the ball more he drops the I'm like, dude,

(05:01):
he can't put it any better than when he's putting it,
And you got to be able to make that catch
for him too, so that his confidence continues to go
sky high.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
And I'll tell you what I'm liking, and I'm liking
what I'm here, and here in Make of American Stadium.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
People are like, hey, Bryce is looking like the Bryce
we thought he was gonna be.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Right, he's starting to look like that well, and we
could all see in hindsight that he shouldn't have been
starting last year at the beginning of the season, And
so until he got benched in the third week of
this season, he never had the chance not to prepare
as the starter and just sit and just kind of,
you know, absorb learn. I'm sure it was a difficult
time for him, but like he came out of that
that dark place that you're playing a lot better because

(05:42):
he just I think he took the pressure off him
for a while and not have to like be the
starter and go out there and keeps repeating mistakes.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Absolutely, and that's one thing that Adam Feelin said last
week we were talking to him about what's the difference
with Bryce now compared to the last season. In the
first couple of games, he said, he's playing free and
he's out there just making plays instead of having to
worry about every being on him. He said, you can
just tell that he doesn't feel that pressure anymore that
he did before, especially last year. When he comes in
it's like you're gonna be the savior of the franchise.
Game one roll out there, and you know, that's tough.

(06:09):
We see that with most rookie quarterbacks.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
You know, there are a few.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Obviously they aren't having such difficulties maybe, but those are
few and far between. Normally, when a rookie comes out
and starts, you're going to have some troubles, and he
certainly had his share of them last year. But now
he's playing just completely different ballgames.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
And Thor not to mention that when last year he
was getting pummeled, man, he was getting it was handed
it to him. And so when you're getting pounded like
that as a quarterback and now you're sitting there going, oh, man,
I got to stand here and make this play, you
get antsy and fancy feet. You're like, you're anxious, and
so I can see why. You know, I would not

(06:46):
want to start him, but I see why the franchise did.
But this education process that happens on the bench that
you need to go through, and I think we've seen
that with Bryce, and I think we're going to see
more continued success with Bryce.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
There was some beautiful.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Pass to the feeling for the test now to go ahead.
I'm like, wow, what a great pass.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
And that was while he was running. I mean he scrambled,
So there's a little bit of improv and exactly it's
great having someone like feeling back and healthy makes a
difference when he's out there a right. Lots to get
to you. In this post game show, we'll hear from
the coach Dave Canalis. So in the Panther players, Sharon
will have some scoreboard updates. I just sprung that on you.
You have some scoreboard updates coming up later on.

Speaker 6 (07:25):
He got it all written.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
You can't see on the show, but I've got it
does heron as she wrote it like a caveman.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
And then we'll have more from the guys in the
booth all coming up twenty six, twenty three, though, the
Panthers come up just short in overtime against the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers. More to come here on the Southern Star
Bourbon post game show on the Carolina Panthers Radio Network. Yeah,
they're close game, but another loss to in a row

(07:54):
for the Panthers. Now come up a bit short in overtime,
but again on a last second field goal, just like
the Kansas City game, this time in Tampa Bay, though
in overtime twenty six, twenty three, as they lose. But
we have to say in Munich we did win an
overtime on a field goal, so it's not like we
don't know how to win. So we are up and
down in that category. Sharon's got a scoreboard update coming
up for you. Before we get to that, though, let's

(08:16):
pause ten seconds for station identification on the Carolina Panthers
Radio Network. Panthers postgame Show, brought to you by Southern
Star Official Bourbon of the Carolina Panthers, celebrate the spirit
of the Carolinas again. The final score here twenty six,
twenty three, Bucks improved to six and six, Panthers fall
to three and nine on the season, and let's go
look at what's going on around the NFL today was sharing.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Yeah, some other good games around the league today, and
this driver around the league brought to you by your
Honda Dealers of the Carolina's Commanders picking up another win
forty two to nineteen over the Titans. Jayden Daniels four
touchdowns in that one. Yeah, the Rams knocked off the Saints,
so the Saints in our division of course, losing there
again twenty seven to fourteen. Also the Falcons loss too,

(08:59):
so what makes this one even more painful? Today They
lost to the Chargers seventeen to thirteen, the Texans twenty
three to twenty over Jacksonville. Lawrence Trevor Lawrence really got
knocked out hard on that. We got a concussion in
that game on on a pretty nasty hit. So yeah,
it was a pretty bad concussion. So they lose the
game and lose their quarterback there. Steelers forty four to

(09:21):
thirty eight over the Bengals. The Bengals keep on like
putting up these huge scores and somehow keep on keep
on losing. This crazy Arizona falling to Minnesota. The Vikings
get a touchdown from Sam Doarnold, former Panther, with a
minute thirteen to play to win that one.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
Twenty three to twenty two.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
He's playing playing really well, yeah, really well, not playing
confidently for the Jets right now. Aaron Rodgers another stinker
for them. Twenty six twenty they lose to the Seahawks.
The Colts beat New England. The Patriots they beat him
twenty five to twenty four. Anthony Richardson through the game
winning touchdown with twelve seconds to play and then ran
for the two point conversion to win that one. So

(09:58):
they won it twenty five two twenty four in New England.
And I believe that that was all of our games
right there, that sure is. And actually, how could I
forget the Eagles. That's who the Panthers play next. They
won twenty four to nineteen over the Ravens today. So
Panthers headed up to Philly next weekend to take on
the Eagles.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
Who just wants to know?

Speaker 5 (10:18):
And then tonight's game in the very frigid, frigid, frigid Buffalo.
That's gonna be a super duper cold one on Sunday
night football. San Francisco, add Buffalo and it's like sub
zero and snow everywhere.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I think someone said today they had sixty four inches
of snow or something like that so far, sixty four
so far. But they do that thing where they have
like the fans come out and shovel the snow for them.

Speaker 7 (10:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I think got like free tickets or something.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
That it looks like the literally, it looks like the
frozen tundraft. There's like Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah, and there fro snowballs to bust too. I'm just
saying they do.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
That's funny and they're pretty accurate too.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
You could lose a tooth with something, you know, thatice, right,
not a tooth? All right, I'm gonna keep us on time.
That's board up. They shown to have another one a
little bit later on. We're gonna hear from coach Canalis.
We're gonna hear from some of the Panther players, Luke
and Jake and Aniche in the booth and more to
come again the final and overtime twenty six twenty three
bucks over the Panthers. More to come as we continue.

(11:15):
You're listening to Panthers Football brought to you by Morris Jenkins.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
This He's the Panthers postgame Show, presently by Southern Star
Unofficial Bourbon of the Carolina Panthers celebrate the spirit of
the Carolinas.

Speaker 7 (11:29):
So Red gifts Straight up the Middle Touchdown, Touchdown.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Carolina, Reaction and analysis to today's game with special guests,
highlights and updates from around the league.

Speaker 7 (11:40):
Complete touchdown right side, next the Cats touchdown Panthers Now
what talk about it? Now?

Speaker 1 (11:47):
What Now? To jin Zoki with the Panthers postgame show
exclusively on the Carolina Panthers Radio Network.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Last week, when the Panthers as a close one to
Kansas City, We're kind of like, ah, we almost won
a game against a really good Super Bowl champion team.
Today again it's the last second field goal and I
think it's a one eighty. We all feel like, what
a gut punch this one was, because the Panthers felt
like they had won the game and then felt like
they lost it two or three times towards the end
there and finally Tampa Bay gats the official win twenty six,

(12:20):
twenty three, And on that sideline view was Kristin Balboni
doing the sidelines down there. You know it's a little
bit red, so I know it was a little bit
chilly out there was a sunset out there, but man,
that hurts because you see the progress and there's obviously
our overarchings of Bryce Young, some great things that are
going on right now. But man, just so disappointing. The
couldn't get that victory today.

Speaker 8 (12:38):
It was and I don't think anyone is more disappointed
than Chewba Hubbard. You know, I watched him from the
time of the fumble and then also you know, all
the way past the end of the game, and he's
just you know, his head's down, you know, a tier
or two. Maybe guys are coming over. The one thing
I'll say, and you know, we always talk about silver
linings and sometimes it's tough to find them, but I

(13:00):
saw so many guys go over to him, offense and
defense and give him hugs, not just a pat on
the back, like true hugs. Jac horn is, you know
down there on the bench with him hugging him. Taylor
Moten the same thing. And you think, although it's hard
to say this right now, of course, but you can
see a team being built and you've seen that over
the course of these last few games. Now you wish

(13:22):
it would all come together, right, that's the big thing.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
And this was a heartbreaker, and that was you know,
a very critical thing is right right up there at
the top. But the defense only had to hold them
for thirty seconds at the end of regulation.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
We saw that last week.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Yeah, Eddie, who's like never missing missus two today and
again you get kind of spoiled when we make every
one of them. But yeah, he was struggling more than
he usually does today. So there were all three categories
of football where they all share in that tuop has
just happened to happen, you know, more towards the end.
But there were opportunities to win that game at other
opportunities during the chance in regulation to close that thing out.

Speaker 8 (13:55):
Yeah, And I think everyone we know this about that
locker room. I think everyone will be accountable, you know,
I think from what I saw, just like I said,
just all the guys coming over to talk to Cuba
is just one example of that. And I imagine that
the defense will take accountability for the areas that they struggled.
And certainly Eddie, you know, as we know, and good
times and bad, he's not going to I mean, we
remember that missfield goal in Atlanta, still right, and then

(14:17):
he went off on he went what like twenty straight
field goals after that so I think this team is
going to take accountability, but this one has to hurt.
I mean, I think we can all feel it of here,
no doubt, right, And so imagine what it's like in
that locker room right now.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
And body, what have.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
You seen on the sideline from the guys how they
responded to what Bryce was doing today?

Speaker 9 (14:37):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (14:37):
I think they were super excited about it. Right, Everyone
was thrilled.

Speaker 10 (14:41):
You know.

Speaker 8 (14:41):
When he had that rushing touchdown, you saw everyone else
that was on the benches kind of not and I
can't even Sharon, you know what. Sometimes it's hard to
put things intowards. But they all nodded like they knew
he could do it, right.

Speaker 6 (14:53):
It was like that self assured not.

Speaker 8 (14:55):
And I know no one could see this because we're
on radio right now, but it was more than just
like an okay, let's go. It was like, yeah, like
there's Bryce, and I thought that's a good sign, you know.
And then what about some of the catches.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
Dealer made That was insane.

Speaker 8 (15:10):
I don't know how he did it. And then you know,
there was they're talking about missed opportunities. There was that touchdown.
Certainly you know that they they called it an incompletion
and then they were they said, what the call stands
under review, right, not confirmed, but you know dack Nels
was signaling touchdown on the sidelines. That was after we

(15:31):
saw the big board, you know, and so everyone saw
it in here. But again a lot of missed opportunities,
and unfortunately they weren't able to come away with one
of those things. You say, okay, if things had just
gone right in one of these things, but but they didn't.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Defense, you got to give them some props to the
way they've been playing. I know they couldn't get to
stop there to end it in regulation, but they seem
so much more aggressive recently with all the tournaments, Josie
Jewel in particular.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
Yes, really stepping up.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
What have you seen from those guys and the way
they were able to play today, and it just seems
like they're developing more of an identity.

Speaker 8 (16:04):
I think so too, And you know, you like it
for a guy like Josie who is wearing the green
dot and he is in control of so much of
the defense that when he gets those individual plays too,
not just making opportunities for other guys, but to really
have those moments, and you know, he is a leader.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
So to see your leaders.

Speaker 8 (16:20):
Doing that, you're Jadavian Clowney's right, are doing those things.
And I tell you what, Josie's he's getting stretched. I
don't think he's one hundred percent, you know, And so
to be able to you see these guys, these tough guys,
which Javin Clowney was questionable coming into this game, I
feel like he's always questionable right at this point in
his career. And you see these guys play through things.
And then also you know, you look at overtime. They

(16:41):
got that stop in overtime and that's big too.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
So but it's like a tail.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Of two defenses to me when I see that, because
we look at the sacks, the interceptionance. But what's concerning
me so much is the ground game and giving up
so much on the ground and losing a third down.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Battle because of them.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Your defense is gonna be on the field a long
long time and you can't get off. What have you
guys seen?

Speaker 6 (17:06):
No, it's exactly that, right.

Speaker 8 (17:07):
You see guys, guys huffing and puffing, right, and then
you got to go right back out there. It's tough.
And I have a question for you, Eugene, when you
have these times like last week where the defense wasn't
able to make that critical stop with thirty seconds left
on the clock, right and the Chiefs were able to
go and get that field goal. And then you see
it again today although a Sharon said they had some

(17:28):
really great moments, something get in your head about that
or how do you fight that mentally of like, Okay,
it's a close game. We hear Canal's talk about finishing
all the time, So what does that look like from
a player's per se?

Speaker 3 (17:38):
So what it looks like is what it means about finishing.
You got to make the plays. We always tell the guy, Look,
don't make my play. You make the play that comes
to you, you know, and don't try to do too much.
Just take care of your business because it all kind
of works itself out. Like I've been on Exavier Woods
one because I'm like, you should be getting more interceptions, dude,

(18:00):
You're always around the ball, and today I saw him
be around the ball and get interceptions. I'm like, dude,
this is what you should be doing all the time.
So the place that you have an opportunity to make,
you've got to be a security maker. And what you
do is you practice them. You look at the film
and you put yourself like, if this happens right here,
I know I'm gonna be able to make that. And

(18:20):
you have that confidence to do that, and you build
that confidence is going to do that, and when it
when it materializes, that's when it's just your time to shine.
And when you have the butterflies, that only means that
you're ready. It doesn't mean they scared.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
All right, Christian, we appreciate you taking time after long
coming talking, talking and get that bony in your ear.

Speaker 8 (18:40):
And look, I'm passing the baton to Sharon. Next week
she'll be on the road and it's going to be
cold and Philly.

Speaker 6 (18:46):
Right, you're already checking the already. If you want my handwarmers.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
We have Balbani. It could be cold up there. All right, Well,
thank you, christ and we appreciate that. So final score,
overtime Bucks win over the Panthers twenty six to twenty three.
We'll come back and listen to some of the highlights
of the game coming up next as we continue to
take it through the Southern Starbourbon postgame show here on
the Carolina Panthers Radio Network. Twenty six twenty three Bucks

(19:22):
over the Panthers in overtime as the Panthers get their
hearts broken for the second week in a row on
their home field last week Kansas City, and again a
last second field goal, this one in overtime. It went
back and forth in this game, and the Panthers were
trailing for a good portion of it, but they were
able to get the lead late in the game, and
it was a great moment as this connection with Bryce

(19:44):
Young to Adam Thielen a twenty five yarder to give
Carolina the lead by three points with thirty seconds to go.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
Bucks Rush four, Rice in the pocket, steps up, e
loots the rush throws Depisode God Dylan touchdown Carolina. The
Panthers take the lead with thirty seconds.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
We're in the land of Milk and honting, but not
for long because it would be Tampa Bay coming back
and tying the game with their own field goal a
fifty one yard or at the end of regulation. Off
to overtime we go and the game is tied twenty three.
All they miss on a long field goal. Panthers have
pretty good field position at that point, They're infield goal
range and the unthinkable happens. But think about it here.

(20:30):
It is Cuba forced fumble here inside the thirty yard
line of the Buccaneers.

Speaker 7 (20:37):
And the Panthers snapped the ball. The handoff is to
Cuba right up the cut thirty. The ball is out,
who's got it? Tampa recovers ya YadA yadi picks it
up at the Tampa twenty nine yard line.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Oh no, all I heard was YadA YadA, YadA, YadA,
YadA ya yah. And why didn't you know Baker Mayfield
and company to get into field goal range and they
close it out here final play of the game. Thirty
yard field goal by Chase McLaughlan.

Speaker 7 (21:13):
This would be for the win. Panthers staring at a
second straight last second loss on a field goal. Snap
hold McLaughlin's kick. It is up and it is good.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
That's all you get. Thirty yardfield goal, get twenty six,
twenty three in overtime, and that's again. It always hurts,
especially we'll hurt until get back into preparations for next week, Eugene.
But certainly as they go home tonight, there's going to
be a lot of long faces from this one because
you felt like, get a couple of chances to win
this one. And for a team again, we don't win

(21:47):
a lot. We only won two last year, we've only
won three this year. I mean, it's precious to even
have these opportunities. So I think that's what probably hurts
more than usual. It's like it wasn't like we're going
for our tenth win of the season or something here.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
You know.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
And there's also the twenty four hour rule to every
player kind of buys by is that you get twenty
four hours to you go ahead and mourning loss or
celebrate a win, and then you turn the page and
get ready for the next opponent. And that's what's gonna
happen on Monday. They're gonna turn the page and get
ready for the next opponent, going against the Eagles, and
you know it's gonna be a tall older.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
But here it is.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
I think one of the things that's been lacking offensively
is that we couldn't put points on the board. And
we're being able to put points on the board now,
and Bryce Young is settling into the be that quarterback
that we thought that he could get and be. Now,
what's uncharacteristic to me is that the defense has not
responded the way I thought they would respond giving up

(22:41):
too many yards in the rushing game. And but with that,
you're not gonna be able to win the met games
because your defense is gonna be on the field for
a very very long time. And that was one of
the things. Even in that last stretch when that was
a turnover, they were able to run the ball down
into the to like the eight yard line, I mean
with ease. And you can't win games like that at all.

(23:04):
So I don't care who you got out there, you
got to show up this defense, and the defense has
to come with a little bit better than what they are.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
Yeah, they gave a two hundred and thirty six rushing
years all that's been trouble for a long time now.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Yes, it has some rush.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
Defense, and I know missing big dB Derek Brown there
in the middle certainly hurts. But yeah, that's something that
they have just not been able to overcome all season.
And I've asked guys about that repeatedly this year.

Speaker 6 (23:27):
You know, what is it going to take? What's the problem?

Speaker 5 (23:29):
And it seems to come down a lot to them
talking about communication and then just doing.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
Your job, not trying to do too much.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
So that's something, man, they got to try to get
that short up quickly though, because you got saquone next week.

Speaker 6 (23:41):
Kon Barkley is a beast as we all know it running.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Back, and they could jump up and been backwards at
the same time a couple of weeks ago. Yes, it has.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Another thing that we hadn't talked about. Defensively, there was
a lot of mistackles out there.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
And because there was some mistackles out there, we saw
Baker Mayfield, who if he stopped, they never get a
chance to get down into the tide the game up.
But because he's able to get out of I think
that was one of them's hands that was huge.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
He's down the field, he.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Picks up the first down, another son of downs, moved
the tang and now kicking a field goal.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
But if he stopped there, there is no field goal.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
There is no other son of change is you got
one more play to get things happen and your confidences
with you. So we had some plays where defensively we
could have just put the nail in the coffin, and
we did not do that. And some of it was
because there were mistackles on the field.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Defense. You guys, now did some of the yards that
were giving up. All those body blows added up to
a twenty six to twenty three win that set the
Buccaneers up to win in overtime. When we come back,
we will hear from Adam Thielen, We'll hear from the
head coach, Dave Canalis all in the next couple segments
here as we continue on the Southern Star Bourbon postgame show,
as the Panthers lose by three, you're listening to Panthers

(24:51):
Football brought to you by Morris Jenkins.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Back to the Panthers postgame show preseem me by Southern
Star on a official bourbon of the Carolina Panthers. Celebrate
the spirit of the Carolinas.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
All Right, the Panthers locker room shows brought to you
by Southern Star, official bourbon of the Carolina Panthers, celebrate
the spirit of the Carolinas. Panthers come up short in
overtime twenty six to twenty three in overtime, but some
valiant efforts included Adam Thielin, who was targeted ten times,
had eight catches ninety nine yards the touchdown that gave
the Panthers a lead in regulation with thirty seconds to go.

(25:28):
Let's hear what he had to say.

Speaker 7 (25:29):
Afterwards, we're joined by Panthers wide receiver Adam Feelin eight
catches ninety nine yards today. I know this one stings
at him, But just walk us through from your vantage point,
how you felt the last couple of minutes of regulation
and then overtime unfolded.

Speaker 9 (25:45):
Honestly, I kind of take it back to this week's
so practice, this week of practice, kind of the last
few weeks, just a different feeling in this organization, in
the locker room of like we weren't going into a
game like I don't know what's going to happen. It
kind of just felt like we just felt like we
were going to win this game. And and now kind
of fast forward to your question, it's like you go

(26:06):
into the last two minutes of the game and overtime,
you just felt like there wasn't like, oh no, we're
gonna lose this or oh shoot, what's going to happen.
It was like, we're gonna go win this thing, and
and there was no panic. There really wasn't a whole
lot of conversation, to be honest, just we just felt like, hey,
we don't really need to say anything. We're just gonna
go out there and do our job and and good
things are going to happen. Obviously, we're we're real frustrated

(26:28):
because that's a game that we feel like we could
win and it could really carry us a lot of
momentum into into what could happen this year. But it
is what it is now, and we got to figure
out a way to refocus and get back get back
to work.

Speaker 7 (26:42):
Adam, that feeling that you talked about of feeling like
you're going to win, and you mentioned how things have changed,
what specifically do you point to.

Speaker 9 (26:52):
I think momentum is a beautiful thing. I think you
get a couple wins in a row, you start to
see kind of the fruits of the labor, all the
hard work we've been putting in, all the details, all
the conversations, all the kind of just positive energy that's
been in this building since the day one of this
new staff. You start to see the fruits of that labor.
So that gives you a lot of confidence. Obviously, winning

(27:13):
gives you confidence. Close game last week gives you confidence.
And then again, there wasn't really anything that was said
this week. It was just a different type of energy
and feeling around the building.

Speaker 11 (27:24):
Adam Jake, wonderful job tonight with some big catches over
and over and oning where the first downs are. My
question is going to be at the end of the half,
when it looked like to us you pulled down this
touchdown and your knee hit. Did you ever get an
explanation from the ref did they? Did they give you
full explanation, because when we watched it, all of our

(27:45):
vantage point looked like you were able to secure it
and get the left knee down.

Speaker 9 (27:49):
Well after the one handed catch out of the game,
they should realize that my left hand's pretty strong and
and the ball never loo moved my left hand, but
they said they said that my right hand and came
off the ball, which which is is false. So it
was a really bad explanation. My right hand never came
off the ball, my right hand moved, but the ball
never moved and my left hand had it secured. So

(28:11):
I think, I mean crazy that they can go to
to New York or whatever and and.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Come up with that call.

Speaker 9 (28:18):
Obviously, I wish I would have just caught it in
the first place. So that's on me.

Speaker 12 (28:22):
Well, speaking of that, that that play at the end
of the game, where your left hand was drawn. Kind
of talk about that one and then the ensuing play
to catch a touchdout pass.

Speaker 9 (28:31):
Yeah, you know, critical situations. We we we practice those
all the time. Third down kind of game, not honessarly
on the line, but but to set set up an
opportunity to win the game. I obviously have a lot
of confidence in the in the play call and in
Bryce to deliver, and just knew that it was. It
was man to man zero coverage, Uh, me versus another

(28:52):
guy across me, and you got to go find a
way to win. And when the ball is in there,
go find it. So obviously the next play is a bummer.
We played too hard and too good to have that outcome. Obviously,
we love Chuba and the way I told in the
locker room, the way that he handles his business day
in day out, the way he works. That's that's No

(29:13):
one is looking at him like, oh shoot, he should
have held onto that. That's just that's just football football,
that things happen. That's why we play this game. You
never know what the outcome is gonna be. And so
we love that guy more than anybody in the locker room.
He works his tail off so obviously feel for him.

Speaker 7 (29:29):
Adam before we let you go. What have you seen
now over this last month out of Bryce Young?

Speaker 9 (29:36):
I think just just you can tell he's kind of
got it. What do they say, he got a swagger back,
you know, like you just feel like he's just able
to be himself and there's no stress of I gotta
be perfect or I have to do this or that.
You just see a guy who just is just just
having fun being on the field again and just kind

(29:56):
of letting the game come to him rather than forcing things,
uh to happen for himself.

Speaker 7 (30:01):
So really excited to see that.

Speaker 9 (30:03):
Obviously I encourage him every time, I you know, before games,
uh maybe sometimes throughout the week. A man, just keep
being yourself because that's the best version of you is
just when you're yourself and not not who someone else
wants you to be.

Speaker 7 (30:15):
The best version of this team is with you out there.
Always good to see you back out there, Adam. Thank you,
Thanks guys.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
All right.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Adam Feeling had another stellar game today and it was
a miraculous one handed catch he made with his left hand.
He had the big twenty five yarder that gave them
the lead in the fourth quarter and he was talking
in there guys too about the one that was taken
off the board that should have been a touchdown, and
he explained it very well. I mean, I know everyone
has some degree of gray area what is a catch
in the NFL, but I mean, he had this hand

(30:42):
under the ball, it was the ball was not moving.
So again, a lot of a lot of things could
have should have gone right, and the Panthers just didn't
get that one either.

Speaker 6 (30:50):
Yeah, the officials.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
I saw somebody put out here on Twitter x whatever
that they lost not only to the Bucks but also
to the refs, and because they you know that that
was a tough one to not be able to get
that one. I know Dave Canalis thought that was for
sure a touchdown catch. Everybody in the booth thought it
was a touchdown, So that one was tough to overcome
as well. But you know, as coach calse was staying

(31:12):
in his postgame comments here, that we beat ourselves, and
so we didn't. We we lost these things ourselves with
the missed field goals, with the fumble, with not being
able to get the stops on defense. So they just
had too many different things come into play that all
work together for them to have to lose this one
in overtime, which really stinks, but just that the field goals,

(31:32):
the missfield goals really painful too.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Yeah, and you're right.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
I thought if the play, the play would have stood
no matter what the call was, because it would have
been confirmed to help upheld by the call. Because I
think he's absolutely right. If he got caught it was
called a touchdown, and and if Tampa Bay was said no,
it's not a touchdown, it would have held. And so
I thought it was a victim of what's the call
on the field, And so that's what it was like.

Speaker 6 (31:59):
Right there next to him, It's like, dude.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
How do you not and how do you not get that?
Because we're sitting and going, okay, yeah, that's to me.
I agree with everyone here. I thought it was it
was a touchdown, but it wasn't. And I'm glad we
didn't cry with spilt milk. We didn't at all. We
just went back to work. And that was evidence the
way that we continue to play the game, that we
went back to work. There is a light and a

(32:23):
fire us underneath this team offensively, in my opinion, that
I hadn't seen because we always wonder what's the character
of this team, what is the character of this team?
And I could see I can really say the character's
team is this office won't give up and his office
will score points. And I don't think I could say that.
You know, a while back, I didn't know what what

(32:44):
was the I didn't know what was the character.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
Of this team.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
But now this team is resilient, a lot of metal,
you know, they get after it and they're looking to
push the envelope. And we saw that today and Bryce
did a great job and doing that.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Too, Yep, absolutely watching him kind of grow up in
front of our eyes. You're into today two hundred ninety
eight yards with a touchdown, and as we said, there
were some drops in there too. Is number sure well
over three hundred if he had some a couple of
easy catches that were not completing.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
And so don't forget the overthrows that he did on purpose,
because he was making sure that if my guy's not
gonna get it, you ain't gonna get it either.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Right, and we're gonna throw the ball away real smart.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
And he's hanging in the pocket, he's taking off running
like in the past months. I guess we say at
this young stage of his career. We'll still hear from
the head coach Dave Canalis. We'll hear what Luke and
Jake and their final thoughts were from the booth and
more to come here the scoreboard updated with sharing on
the way they're underway and the snow in Buffalo and
San Francisco. We'll get you up to date on that

(33:39):
one bucks over the Panthers in overtime twenty six to
twenty three. You're listening to the postgame show on the
Carolina Panthers Radio network. Fathers come up short in overtime
twenty six twenty three to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carolina
three and nine plays at Philadelphia coming up next Sunday,
Let's hear what the coach Dave Canalis had to say
to the guys after the game.

Speaker 7 (34:00):
We're joined by Panther's head coach Dave Canalis. Dave, the
way this game played out, what was the feeling afterwards
from the coaching staff and the players.

Speaker 10 (34:14):
Just collectively owning the things that we're in control of,
the penalties, taking care of the ball at the end there,
making our field goals, just the simple execution of I
say simple, But it's the execution of the things that
we owned that we're well in control of that we
have to make sure we you know, take advantage of
because in this league, if you give the opponent anything,

(34:35):
you know, they can capitalize, and field position matters and
all those things. So that was just kind of the
general tone.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
Yeah, Coach Jake.

Speaker 11 (34:43):
Once again, just progress from Bryce in the passing game and.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
Certainly very efficient today.

Speaker 11 (34:50):
Had a couple of drops and certainly we had a
couple of stalls in the red area that led to
field go opportunities. But just week in and week out,
Bryce does the offense continue to get more and more
as we move forward.

Speaker 10 (35:04):
Absolutely, the chemistry of it, you know, the rhythm of it,
all those things coming along the way that we hope for.
And you know, so again like you said, we got
to find a way to finish in the red zone.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
We'll look at it.

Speaker 10 (35:15):
We'll, you know, we'll we'll, you know, take a look
at all the concepts that we're running and making sure
we're giving the guys the best options down there. But
you know, come making a couple of field goals, you know,
and trying to come up with touchdowns there with certainly,
you know, helped this game.

Speaker 12 (35:29):
Coach Luke here, I'm just kind of talking about what
do you think has led to the resurgence of the
pass rush? Nine sacks the last two weeks. We've obviously
had two interceptions today. What's kind of been the rise
the last couple weeks of this defense. I feel like
they're really coming into their own.

Speaker 7 (35:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (35:43):
Absolutely, you know, it's it's adding dj Wanta back out there.
We had, we had Barno back in there in some
different rush attempts, and you know, uh JD is continuing
to put pressure on quarterbacks, and you know the interior
guys a Sean, you know, making his places when he's
when he's got the opportunities to go out there. So
it's a group that's been working hard together getting there.
You know, their rushes, all those things, you know, coordinated

(36:05):
the way that you want and just great effort in
down in and down out.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Awesome, Thank you, Dave.

Speaker 7 (36:10):
From last week to this week, I think last week
there was a feeling of, hey, this is a much
improved team. You go toe to toe with the gold
standard of the NFL. Was there a feeling after today
that this is a much improved team that is undeniable,
but kind of as you alluded to earlier, there were
some things that were kind of left at the table there, absolutely.

Speaker 10 (36:31):
And it's just about consistency in the finish and owning
the things that we can own, you know, just like
we talked about, and the guys know that, you know,
you go into a locker room and the guys they believe,
you know that we can play if we played to
our capabilities and we take advantage of all the things
that are out there. You know, we own those things
that we were hard to beat, and so we you know,
we go all the way to the wire and overtime again,

(36:52):
you know, but it's just we got to finish. We
got to find a way to finish.

Speaker 7 (36:56):
Dave, thank you, all.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Right, thank you.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
It sums it up, though, control of things you can control.
I'm sure they're talking in Tampa Bays, you know, locker
room about things they could have done better, and they
found a way to win in the end. It's a
little bit of splitting hairs because we talk about things
that we can't complete as far as finishing the game defensively.
But yet you have to give Tampa Bay credit cheering
for them getting downfield in those thirty seconds with Baker

(37:19):
and getting a figal Rangers.

Speaker 5 (37:20):
Yeah, and you got Mike Evans out there. We all
know what he can do, and he's had ten straight
seasons one thousand yards or more and looks to be
like he's going to be hitting that again this year. Yeah,
so gotta definitely get them to credit Baker Mayfield didn't
play his best game maybe with the two interceptions, but
he finds a way to move that football team too.
So it's not like the Panthers just laid down and
said come down and win this game.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
Even after Fubbard toop of fumbled. I don't play one
word after troop of fumbled. He you know that's at
their twenty nine yard line. For one, you can't assume
the field goal in this game. And to the defense again,
give credit to Tampa Bay for getting downfield and making
it an easy thirty yard field goal for McLaughlan there.
So that wasn't like you lined up for a six
yard field goal there at.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
The end exactly.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
And like I said, there was one play specifically that
stands out to me is that the play where Bacon
Mayfield escapes want them and picks up a first down.
I mean typically if you make that play, that was
a third down play. If you make that play, it's
a different ballgame. And that's what I mean by the
plays that come to you. You got to make those plays.

(38:22):
You gotta make those plays. And that's what coach is
talking about. You have plenty opportunity and apple time to
go ahead and secure the game. And when you have
that moment, that's when you have to seize it.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
You really do.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
And like, here's one thing, one of my pet peeves
when I see the fisive backs when they have a
guy on the sideline they can push out of bounce
and they dive at his feet.

Speaker 4 (38:43):
You know he's gonna jump over the top of you.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
You do know that, right, Just stay up, stay up,
You take the one for the team and push them
out of bounds. If he runs you over, so what.
But if you dive down on the ground, he jumps
over you. He's still running. So you got to know
when to take your shots when not and when the
play come see you, you gotta make it. And we
saw that, I guess wan them.

Speaker 4 (39:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
Bacon Mayfield, Bacon Mayfield, Bacon Mayfrol, Bacon Mayfriel made an
incredible play.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
What's going on? Micro Let's.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Is being censored. We don't know what he's being muted.
We'll figure it out during the break. We're headed there now.
Borgery updates are brought to you by Atrium Healthy. Deserve
to live your best life and Atrium Health is here
to help. We have two down microphones.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
We had no Javi and Sanders today with a neck
injury and no Jail and Coker with a quad injury.
But hopefully they'll be back next week at Philadelphia. Today,
though Panthers lose by three in overtime to the Buccaneers.
More to come on the Southern Star Bourbon post game show.
Next you're listening to Panthers Football brought to you by
Morris Jenkins.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
Back to Jim's Oky with more of the Panthers postgame show.
Please see him a by Southern Star unofficial bourban of
the Carolina Panthers celebrate the spirit of the Carolinas.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Panthers come up short twenty six to twenty three in
overtime to Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who went on a thirty
yard Chase McLaughlin field goal in the end. Lot's happened
before that point, though. Let's hear what the final thoughts
from the booth word as we check in once again
with a Niche and Jake and.

Speaker 7 (40:22):
Luke Anise Schroff, Jake Delome, Luke Keikley. Panthers lose twenty
six to twenty three in overtime. Thirty yard field goal
by Chase McLaughlin in ot seals the game for Tampa
Bay and Jake. This was a game where Carolina has
the late drive. Bryce Young hits Adam Feeling for a touchdown.

(40:44):
The Panthers take the lead with thirty seconds Tampa comes
back they tie the game. Panthers get the stop with
a missed field goal by Tampa and Ot. Carolina drives
inside the thirty five of Tampa Bay Chewba Hubbard fumbles
with the Carolina infield goal range and a chance to win,
and then Tampa goes down kicks a field goal to win.

(41:06):
Last week felt like, Hey, we showed we could punch
up with anybody. This felt like a punch to you
know where, because Carolina had this game multiple times and
you kind of felt like the Panthers were the better
team today, just didn't show on the scoreboard.

Speaker 4 (41:24):
Yeah, that's kind of how I feel.

Speaker 11 (41:25):
It's almost like a sick feeling that you have in
your stomach, like we left so much offense, in my opinion,
out on the field, we let so many points and
it looks like we're gonna win, you know, we get
the score whatever, but just the missed opportunities and going
back to the beginning of the game. I think the
biggest thing I want to see progression from Bryce, right,

(41:47):
that's what we want to see. That's what we all
want to see in the grand scheme. Well, we saw
it again today. We saw some really good throws. We
saw him standing in the pocket again making plays with
his feet. He ain't crunch time, coming down the field
again to go take the what in essence, what looked
like to go ahead score. But just listen, that's some
positives to build on. But gosh, this is one you

(42:08):
just feel like you get away. You just let get away. Yes,
the two miss field goes. Yes, the fumbling over time,
but just uncharacteristic. You know, three special teams, penalties of
personal files on special teams.

Speaker 12 (42:20):
Not so sure.

Speaker 11 (42:21):
We punted the ball the best tonight. I think we
gave up a ton of yards. Special team wise out
on the field. Their run game was a little difficult
for us to stop, you know, And you go back
to the last drive in regulation, the big play on
first down to Mike Evans. Those are things that I
think we can we can learn from.

Speaker 12 (42:38):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (42:38):
But then the positives, Yes, Bryce, I thought we protected
Bryce pretty well, the interceptions by Xavier Woods today, by
Seawn Smith Wade, you know, things like that, those are
things that some positives we can build on. Trevn Waller,
Wallace making some splash plays, we're getting sacks. As good
as this offense was for Tampa throughout the course of
the year, what we did against them today.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
Is a positive.

Speaker 11 (42:58):
But again, yeah, I want to hear positives, but man,
this is one you just you just feel like, oh gosh,
we let them, we let them escape.

Speaker 12 (43:08):
Yeah, one hundred percent. We feel like you you left
plays on the field that we shouldn't have. And I,
you know, I just go back to that drive at
the end of the game where we give up the
first easy ball to Mike and then and then Baker
escapes had felt very similar to last week against against
the Chiefs, and you're like, man, we.

Speaker 7 (43:27):
We had it.

Speaker 12 (43:27):
And then you know, We had another opportunity there to
to win the game, and it just and just weren't
able to do it. But like like you said, Jake,
it's there is there is progress, But eventually you can
say progress, progress, progress, But the fans and most importantly
the guys in the locker room want to want to
win games. Eventually, you say progress too many times guys

(43:48):
are like, yeah, well, we want to win, And I
think that's ultimately what it comes down to. We played
well enough to win, but we shot ourselves in the
foot too many times, and at the end of the day,
it's really kind of what hurt us. Jake said, special teams, penalties,
didn't kick the ball. Well, it wasn't one of our
better days on special teams, and we left some points
out there on offense and on defense. We didn't get

(44:09):
the stops at the end of the game when we
needed to in the run game. The run game was
what killed us. If we were to kind of squash
that out, I think they would have struggled on the
offense side of the ball.

Speaker 7 (44:17):
Had this game been played and had it played out
the same way early in the season, you probably look
at it differently. Hey, this team is showing life and
they're battling back and it's an improved team. But what
we've seen over the last month, this team is improved,
and they have gotten better, and we have seen them
close and we have seen them finish. And last week

(44:39):
again I thought, in defeat, that was such a telling
sign about what this team can do. And again it
made you think, we talked about it before the game,
made you think you can go into this one today.
As good as Tampa's offense was, Hey, we can go
score to score with them like we did against Kansas City.
You felt good about it and there was a lot

(45:01):
to feel good about except for the final result. To
be honest with you, but it's things because as you said,
this one got away.

Speaker 4 (45:08):
Go ahead. No, it got away.

Speaker 11 (45:09):
But let's go back four weeks from today or five
weeks from today.

Speaker 4 (45:14):
We're not feeling this way about this. We're not feeling
this way about this team. No, not even close.

Speaker 11 (45:19):
So that's how fast what I'm trying to get at.
That's how fast I think things can change in the
game in an NFL team. I think you get old
unbelievably fast, but I think you can get good quick.

Speaker 12 (45:32):
I think the biggest thing for us, we got to
find ways and show ourselves that we can win close games.

Speaker 4 (45:37):
We won a couple of.

Speaker 12 (45:38):
Games at the end of the game against the Giants
and obviously the win against the Saints, but in big
moments like this, we've got to be able to show
ourselves we can go down and make the important plays
at the end of the game to go out and
win against the good teams. So for us, I think
we've taken steps in the right direction. But until we
go out there and prove our prove, prove to ourselves
that we can go win these difficult games, we're gonna
keep keep having difficult games to work on.

Speaker 7 (46:01):
It's part of the growing pains of a young team
looking for an upward ascent. And we have seen growth,
we've seen progress. It's not always linear. We find that
out in a painful way today. Is this a better team,
No doubt. It's a much better team than we saw
early in the season, and that's what makes this loss

(46:23):
that much harder. Final score Here in Charlotte, Tampa Bay
twenty six, Panthers twenty three.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
In ot A Niche along with Jake and Luke. Here
in the studio, it's Jim along with Sharon and Eugene.
We have one more segments Ago, one more scoreboard update
from Sharon. We'll give you to give you the hardest
working player of the game, brought to you by sun
Belt Reynolds. And wrap things up twenty six twenty three
again the final score in overtime Bucks over the Panthers.
More to come next. You're listening to Panthers Football brought

(46:51):

Star unofficial bend of the Carolina Panthers celebrate the spirit

Gene technical director, Harol Hammrick Hem, game site engineer, Jerry
Dowd d O w D. We got studio engineers. We
got three of them. Wendell Black but David Eads nicknamed
David Matt Hogan.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Hey, that's podcast man Byron. But but that's right.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
Thanks to Amy Martin. Do you have a nickname for Amy?

Speaker 3 (47:29):
My favorite Martin, my favorite Mark, my favorite tool came out,
my favorite Marshall.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
We go ahead, keep going, man, Yes, Eric Fiddleman, Kristen Balbonie,
sideline Bony David Langton.

Speaker 4 (47:45):
Produ he's stirring to drag. All right, here's your crew.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
That's everybody, all the whole crew. Is that the crew,
that's the whole tooth. I think I think we need
a scoreboardup. We should give our scorre twenty six twenty
three if you're just tuning in, and where have you been?
Twenty six twenty three bucks over the Panthers in overtime?
Welse you? Yes, Sharon?

Speaker 5 (48:08):
Well, we had a couple of losses in the NFC South.
The Falcons lost to the Chargers seventeen to thirteen, and
the Saints fell to the Rams twenty seven to fourteen.
Some good games out there as well. Today the Vikings
topped Arizona twenty three twenty two, Sam Darnold with a
late touchdown to win that one, like you won five

(48:31):
straight games now. The Colts came back to beat the
Patriots twenty five twenty four, Anthony Richardson with the game
winning touchdown and two point conversion he ran for with
twelve seconds to play. It was the Commanders over the
Titans forty two to nineteen. And let's see who else
we have here? Oh right, yeah, forty four. There I

(48:52):
can read right, That's what my daughter was saying. How
can you what you wrote?

Speaker 3 (48:55):
We had the.

Speaker 6 (48:56):
Steelers over the Bengal forty four thirty eight.

Speaker 4 (49:01):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 5 (49:02):
Still it's over the Bengals forty four to thirty eight,
Texans over Jacksonville twenty three to twenty, and the Eagles
winners over the Ravens twenty four to nineteen. Panthers of
course at the Eagles next week. Currently we have Buffalo
seven to three over the forty nine Ers in what
looks like a really fun snow game.

Speaker 6 (49:20):
And it's early in the second course.

Speaker 2 (49:22):
I got us snow.

Speaker 5 (49:23):
Oh and let me do we'll read here, Yes, let

Speaker 2 (49:37):
I hold in my hand the final card of the program.
It's the hardest working player of the game. Brought to
you by sun Belt Reynolds, official rental equipment partner of
the Carolina Panthers. We talked about it, but we've been
arguing about it, so we each have our own pick
and sharing you go first.

Speaker 5 (49:51):
I like Josie Jewel, our middle linebacker. There ten tackles
and a sack, seemed to be all over the field today.
We heard his name quite a bit, So I go
with ju Jewel for the hardest worker of the game.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
And I'm gonna go with Thelan. I thought Thelan played
an excellent ball. He had eight eight catches ninety nine
yards a testdown, but the impressive one handed catch is
absolutely astounding, and he was a difference maker all day.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
And I'm gonna go with Tommy Trumbull because you know
he's been battling injuries all year, that heightened position all
year has been in flux, and he has some big
time catches today, including a thirty eight yarder, which you
don't expect out of Tommy Trumble very often. Five catches
seventy seven yards. In case we have to name one,
We'll go with Sharon's Josie Jewels. But those are the
other leading candidates there. Any old business, any new business,

(50:36):
you're ready to roll. We're ready to row, ready to
row at Philadelphia coming up next week and hopefully we
win a close one or a big one. We will
take either of those answers for next week. Sharon and Gene,
thank you, Seattle, thank you for hanging out. Got the
whole gang here after Thors family.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
All right.

Speaker 2 (50:52):
So anyway, that's it for here with Panthers fall by three.
We'll talk to you next Sunday here on the Carolina
Panthers Radio Network.

Speaker 1 (50:57):
At least buck you buyd Harris Teeter, the official grocery
store of York, Carolina Panthers, GMC Professional Grade Truck of
