Speaker 1 (00:03):
Now to Chim Zok with the Panthers postgame show presuming
by Southern Star un official bourbon of the Carolina Panthers
celebrate the spirit of the Carolinas.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
All Right, Panthers lose a lopsided one.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
We knew they were shorthanded going into Tampa Bay, but
unable to compete for long as it turns out, forty
eight to fourteen the final score in Tapa. Jim Zoki
along with Jonathan Stewart. We'll talk about it and more
as we get into our postgame show, but first, let's
past ten seconds for a station identification on the Carolina
Panthers radio network. All right, and here we go, Jim Zoki,
(00:41):
Jonathan Stewart with you. And not a lot to dissect here, Jonathan,
that has big picture implications.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Here is just one of those days.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
I mean, offense and defense down a number of key
players for the Panthers. And we're not exactly the Kansas
City Chiefs. So when you get deep into the depth
and practice squad, guys, it's gonna be hard to compete
against the team that's battling for their playoff lives. So
Baker Mayfield five touchdown passes, three hundred and fifty nine yards.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
But again, this was a Panthers defensive rolling.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Out Caleb Farley and some practice squad guys at linebacker.
It's tough when you're battling guys like Mike Evans, some
Hall of Fame talent like that.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Yeah, I mean you just named it right, Guys that
had not really seen the field that much. I don't
care if you were drafting number one pick overall some
years ago. If you haven't seen the field often, it's
kind of hard to just knock the rust off and
just go up against Mike Evans, of all people. This
is a guy that is a Hall of Fame talent,
(01:39):
and you have a quarterback that is capable more than
capable of delivering the ball to guys in open spaces.
You know, the defenses seemed like they were just off
in general. You know, playing zone is a hard thing
to do when you especially when you're a young guy
and a guy that doesn't see the field that often.
(02:00):
And it's all about having the awareness, the spatial awareness
in what the defense is asking you to do, and
where to align at and where to be at and
to be decisive. You know, and you didn't see that
much from the secondary today of them just you know,
being confident where they're supposed to be in their landmarks,
and we got taken advantage.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Of Yeah, and again what chew bust? So the Panthers
run for thirty nine yards, they run for two h
two on the ground. Bucky Irving looks like a special player.
What do you think about him? Hundred and thirteen yards?
He had a big game I think one hundred and
fifty or so against the Panthers last time, but he
went over one thousand for the season. And he's been
doing a job share for a lot of the season
there in Tampa Bay. But he looks like he could
be one of the better young backs in the league.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Oh yeah, Bucky Irving. I mean he was a great
talent there at Oregon. Quack quack. Shout out to my guys,
of course, but you know, again a guy that season opportunity,
and you know, the coaching staff loves this kid. I
was talking to some of the coaches when they were
in town when we played when they played the the
Caroline Panthers some weeks ago, and I asked him like, hey,
(03:05):
how is Bucky? And he shows up to work at
five o'clock every day, and he's the first one in,
he's the first one out, and he's a rookie running back.
That is the type of guy that's gonna have a long,
extensive career. And it's no mistake that he's, you know,
playing so well. And one of the things that I
noticed today is the offensive line loves Bucky Bucky Irving.
(03:31):
There's a difference when you got a guy in there
and you see offensive linemen chasing him downfield, just waiting
to just finish another guy on another block, because you know,
a guy like Bucky, he runs so hard and he's
not just going to go down on first contact. And
he's not the biggest guy either. He plays big. And
you know, kudos to the Buccaneers. They they were the
(03:54):
more physical team today.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Sure, yeah, absolutely, forty eight to fourteen.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
They win basically at every or a lot of pressure
obviously on Bryce Young know Taylor Morton for the Panthers today,
so five sacks, but you get behind, you're an obvious
passing situations. Or to his credit, he didn't throw a
pick two touchdowns in the game, So I thought, you know,
Bryce based some good throws him and Adam Field and
certainly can find each other during a game. Adam five
catches one hundred and ten yards and had both those
touchdown catches.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Yeah, I mean out the gate, we started off really
nice on offense, responding to the defense, you know, allowing
the Buccaneers to go downfield. We were answered right back,
and it was really good to see when whatever, we're
able to find feeling and even attack the middle of
the field. I think that was one of the things
that we did really well last game was exposing, you know,
(04:41):
their weakness in the middle of the field. They've been
offering a lot of yards throughout the season to other
teams with passes across the middle of the field, and
we got away from that.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
I'm not really sure why.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Maybe certain things, certain coverages that Bryce saw that you know,
prohibit him from attacking that. Maybe it was the pressures
that got him outside of the pocket. But again, when
we're able to you know, find cocher and feeling, it
seems like we're running on.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
Some good cylinders there.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Yeah, and you know that first drive we had a
couple mixes of runs there with black cheer and we
got away from that. That three and outs kill us.
You know, if you're if you're an offensive player, and
your job is to extend these drives, to have at
least the eight to ten play drives, you know, especially
(05:32):
early on in the in the game, that's where you
find the momentum. And we allowed the Buccaneers to basically
control that factor of the game.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
And Exaber League Get looks like he's still trying to
figure it out. And he's off and I've been injured,
but a little choppy and not quite polished yet as
a receiver as far as just his awareness as far
as fighting for those fifty to fifty balls and some
things like that. So I think that'll come in time.
But he still looks like he's in his rookie season
right now in some of these pass routes and not
quite to where I think he'll probably be next year
(06:03):
once he gets an offseason under his belt.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
Yeah, And I think that just comes with, you know,
the chemistry that he's going to have to develop with
Bryce Young too. Right, So there was a play where
Bryce kind of escaped the pocket. He almost decided that
he wanted to run it, but then he saw an
opportunity to throw it and Exavier the get. You know,
he didn't respond right away to the fact that Bryce
was throwing him the ball downfield and he was just
(06:27):
a little bit behind the ball.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
I thought the ball. I thought Bryce.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Threw a really good ball and it could have been
cut caught. But just for whatever reason, they weren't on
the same page.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah, all right, so we got more to get to
well here from coach Dave Canals, we'll hear from Luke
and Jake and a Niche up in the booth, and
we'll get some scoreboard updates coming up for you as
well as we take you through the Southern Star Bourbon
post game show. It's brought to you by Southern Star
official bourbon of the Carolina Panthers. Celebrate the spirits of
the Carolina's more to come following this forty eight fourteen
(06:59):
lost to Tampa Bay. Next on the Carolina Panthers Radio Network,
and we are back Jim z Ookie along with Jonathan
Stewart with you here as the Panthers fall by a
score of forty eight to fourteen to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Before we get back into things here, want to give
(07:20):
you a scoreboard update of what's going on.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
As the early games.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Are Think Think they've all wrapped up here as we're
into the four o'clock games now, but we'll keep you
up to day in the four o'clock games as we
moved through the postgame show.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
A couple of seconds left in this one.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Raiders though, have it in hand against the Saints twenty
five to ten. On this Drive around the League, brought
to you by the Honda Dealers of the Carolinas, Browns
and Dolphins Underway scoreless coming up, Packers and Vikings at
four to twenty five, about ten minutes from now tonight
the Falcons and the Commanders. Earlier today, Buffalo Bill's roll
the Jets forty to fourteen. That one just wrapped up
(07:54):
as Allen had two touchdown passes one touchdown run for
Josh Allen. Giants get their third win of the season,
your former team, forty five thirty three to the Colts.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
They get a win.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
That was that was shocking today because the Giants have
looks so bad of late.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
But wow, that's kind of.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
A stunner when you look at them being able to
beat a team like Indianapolis that was seven and eight
going in.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Yeah, I mean, what I'm more concerned about for the
giants to say, Cwn Barkley coming into town next week
and they got some something to play for, say Kwon
Barkley is about what fifty yards away from breaking Dickerson's
records record. Yeah, which is amazing. I mean, he has
a two thousand yard season in sixteen games this year
(08:37):
and he gets to go back to his old team
and light a match.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
And why not, right?
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I mean it's like, I know they're playing for the
postseason too, but I mean you only have a shot
at this. I mean, Barkley will never get to this
point again where he's gonna have that kind of numbers
to be able to have that opportunity.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Yeah, it's a hard thing to do, and because you
have to have a lot of things that go right.
You have to have for him, he has to have
two quality great receivers and aj Brown and Smith there
and then a great offensive line, right and you know
his and his own ability and a coach that wants
to call his number. So all those things that go
(09:15):
well don't just happen every single year. And this is
his year. So kudos to him and congrats.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Now in this game, once he gets those fifty yards
or so, does he do the cam Ward and sit down.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Regardless of how the rest of the game.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Man, you walk off with a one more yard than
you needed and just call it a day.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
If I'm him, no knowing him, he's gonna want to
stay in the game, you know. And those are those
are the kind of guys you want in your locker room.
And we'll just leave it at that.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
But at least he's thinking about his team as far
as health moving into the postseason, as opposed to his
next stop, which in that case of Ward is the NFL.
But we'll see with that one. But the Eagles win
forty one to seven. Barkley one hundred and sixty seven
yards thirty one carry, so he had plenty of opportunities
in that game. Today elsewhere it was the Jaguars beating
the Titans twenty to because there were so many other
(10:01):
games earlier this week. That is the entire scoreboard right there.
What did you think about, just to talk some football,
that decision by Cam Woard to play the first half
and then the Miami Hurricanes lose by a point to
Iowa State in their bowl game. I know it's not
like they're playing for the national championship there, but just
as a good teammate, or just the sport of football
what it's built upon. It's kind of weird to play
(10:22):
just for a record and then say, I'm not going
to come back and play in a close game and
come out to me. Come back out to play a
series or two and give it a shot, see if
your team can win the football game.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Yeah, I mean, I think in that situation obviously, you know,
we know this game of football is not it's not
like basketball, it's not like any other sport. This is
the ultimate team sport. And so when you basically say, hey,
I'm going to play today for me, and I'm going
to play for this record and this record only, it's
(10:53):
kind of weird. I've never really seen that. I'm not
gonna lie, especially in a bowl game, especially when you
have battled your tail off with your teammates all season
long to get to a point, and there's gonna.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Be a lot of guys.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
There's a lot of guys on that team that will
never play football ever again.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
This is their last football game.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
And college has that charming effect as far as why
you play, a lot of those guys aren't playing because
they're going to the league. They played because they love
the football game. And so when you watch a guy
like cam Ward with so much talent and so much promise,
obviously you know his decision. I understand it from the
standpoint of, Hey, I'm about to be maybe the number
(11:31):
one draft pick. I don't want to go out there
and risk that. And I can understand that. My thing is,
don't suit up. Yes, weird, don't suit up. Leave the
record for what it is. It's not that big of
a deal if you want to protect yourself. But if
you're willing to go and play for the record, then
(11:51):
go and play for your team as well.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Finish the game.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
I mean, you can't play two more quarters or building
up of a leader where you don't have to play
two whole quarters.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
I mean there was one play I don't know if
you saw it where he was basically standing there. The
offensive line was blocking their tails off.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
It was weird. People, just go back if you're listening
to this.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Cam Ward was standing on the field as the play
was going and it looked like he was just like
a like a mannequin, and then his arm just moved
and threw the ball and it was a reception. It
was just really easy but it was the weirdest football
player ever seen in my life. But but yeah, I
think you're gonna start seeing a lot of that type
(12:28):
of mentality out of players though in college, to be honest,
because you're going to these guys are thinking about, you know,
the long term, and this game is very, very dangerous,
you know. I think you know, what he needed in
his corner is someone to counsel him to say, hey,
don't play this game. Just sit, don't even suit up,
(12:52):
because what you're doing is you're sending mixed mess You're
sending mixed messages not just to your teammates, but to
fans and to future scouts, you know, future future teams.
And I mean I think a scout pro scout will
look at that situation and say, we get it, Like
we'll talk to him about it and make sure it's
not a problem, you know. But you'll you'll start seeing
(13:13):
a lot of guys, you know, in the college realm,
you know, pulling themselves out of games to make sure
they you know, keep the main thing, the main thing,
which is ultimately to play in the league.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
And some of these guys are getting paid another game
check to go play another Bowl game. So it's like,
you know you're being paid for being there. I don't
think they probably put it at one half because no
way of knowing when the record was going to happen.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
So that just sad, an odd situation all way around.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
All Right, we got Jonathan Stewart with us, a great
Panthers running back. More in the aftermath of the Panthers
lost at Tampa Bay forty eight to fourteen coming up next.
As we continue, you're listening to Panthers Football brought to
you by Morris Jenkins postgame.
Speaker 1 (13:52):

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Carolina reaction and analysis to today's game with special guests,
highlights and updates from around the league.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
Complete touchdown right side, next the catch, touchdown Panthers Now,
what how about it?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Now?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
What Now? To Chim Zoki with the Panthers postgame Show,
exclusively on the Carolina Panthers Radio Network.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Welcome back and Jim Zoki.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Jonathan Stewart with you here on the Southern Suburban postgame Show,
and we'll listen back to some of the highlights coming
up here in just a couple of minutes too, and
we're gonna hear from Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen and
the head coach Dave Canalis. We'll get the final thoughts
from the guys up in the booth, all coming up
forty eight to fourteen as the Buccaneers win over the
Panthers forty eight to fourteen. We talked a little bit
(14:55):
off the top of the show, Jonathan about some of
the stuff that happened in the game and where they
are right now, but beyond that, with one game to
go in this season, how do you feel about the
just a trajectory of where things are and what the
Panthers outlook for this offseason looks like.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
Coming up to you, I feel pretty good.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
I mean, obviously this game does not show what we've
been seeing for the last several weeks.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
You know, this wasn't necessarily the product that you would
expect after a win that we saw last week in
overtime over the Arizona Cardinals. Obviously, losing guys like Tuba
is very very transformative, and it was it was playing
as day to day not having him out there. You know,
(15:40):
you can see like our play calling wasn't necessarily.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
Fluid, and we you know.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Our first drive was amazing, but then the second drive
it was almost kind of like we forgot kind of
what we should do. And hopefully, you know, this offseason,
we can you know, take these next this next game
against the Falcons, in this game and be able to
evaluate what's missing. And I know on defense, the depth
(16:11):
at linebacker it affected us tremendously throughout this year. Finding
guys in the secondary that can play the scheme that
you want to dial up, you know, as far as
the zone coverages and getting some guys in there that
can you know, cover the spaces needed to be there
to make plays. And I think this is gonna be
(16:34):
a way different offseason where one we have an objective.
We have Dan Morgan leading the charge, knowing exactly the
type of player that he wants to have in that
locker room. And it's gonna be guys like Chuba Hubbard,
and it's gonna be guys like Adam Thielen, Jalen Cocher
(16:55):
and you know, guys like Trevin Wallace, guys that love football.
You know, it was dogs the dogs, right, so we
need guys that love football and that know how to
take care of the bodies, know how to protect themselves
while they're playing football.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
That's one of the things I noticed today.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
You know, when you get a guy out that that
takes the field pick it today for the Eagles. Got
hurt today and it was his first game back, right,
first game gets some action. It's something to say about
playing a position and playing it well enough to where
you understand how to protect yourself too. You know, as
a running back, for myself, I had to learn how
(17:33):
to protect myself by running so physical. It took me
like at least four or five years to figure that out,
because you want to like go out there and give
your all and you want to be you know, this
brutal mess out there on the field causing havoc, but
you also got to stay on the field, which.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I think hurt Dan Morgan his career.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
I think a healthy Dan Morgan, but he played the
game with such intensity, and John Beeson played that way.
John survived a number of years without the injuries, but
they caught up to him like a year five or so. Yeah,
but yeah, it was just saying Dan Morgan was never
hurt in college, never hurt in high school. But it's
such a physical, intense game that you're right, you want
to make the big play if you're on defense, you know, offense,
you got to kind of know where the danger spots are, right.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Yeah, So these young guys and veterans too, you just
got to figure out ways to stay healthy because this
year the depth helped hurt us tremendously, but also open
the eyes to what we do have in our depth,
and we need to make some of those adjustments this offseason.
Hopefully we'll find the guys.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Let's listen back to some of the highlights that kind
of represent the game, good and bad for the Panthers
in this forty eight to fourteen loss and opening drive
and the Bucks take it down the field again. Baker
Mayfield had five touchdown passes in the game, two of
those to Mike Evans, and here was the first one
to Evans.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
Three tight ends stacked left Mayfield under center, irving the
single setback snap Mayfield to throw over to Evans in
the end zone a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Tampa Bay Panthers would bounce right back, though, and we
talked about Adam feeling just a moment ago. He had
two touchdown catches today. This one, an eighteen yarder, made
the game seven to seven in the first quarter.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
It's a five receiver look on second to ten out
of an empty set. Young the shotgun snack, steps up,
throws for the end zone wide open. Adam Feelin caught
it for a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Panthers would then, though, fall from seven to seven, tie
to a twenty seven to seven deficit in the second quarter.
But then again it's Bryce Young finding the veteran Adam
Thiel and he gets behind the Bucks defense for a
forty yard touchdown on this one.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
First down in ten from the Tampa forty empty set
trips left Panthers working right to left, storm clouds brewing overhead.
Here's the shotgun snap. Four man rush.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Young with time sets a deep downfield.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
For feeling touch down, makes the catch of the end zone.
Speaker 7 (20:00):
You're a Carolina touchdown go.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
They said, twenty seven fourteen. So the Panthers starting to
get a little bit of hope going into halftime. But
then Baker Mayfield with a touchdown pass to the tight
end Durham, and then things get out of hand here.
And it's never good when you have a blocked punt
for a touchdown, and that's what the Panthers were victimized
for here.
Speaker 7 (20:23):
But this is a real live duck.
Speaker 6 (20:25):
It's about a couple of yards from Tray Palmer to
return man who plant is at the dock and Hecker's
punt is blocked, it's scooped up by Tampa and they're
gonna run it in for a score.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
So the reference was there was a duck on the
field in Tampa for a moment. We have a duck
in the studio here in Jonathan Stewart a sign, but
that was a sign maybe about a different kind of
a duck there, and the Panthers needed a duck on
that play because in duck out, its just that kind
of gets in your depth too, because people always realized,
like when you start putting practice squad guys into the
(20:59):
roster and then you have guys that are special teams,
guys that are playing on positions like linebacker and other
positions out there, you get this domino effect, this trickle
down effect that who is available for special teams and
it becomes a numbers game of probably have some guys
also playing some different positions on special teams that they
don't always play.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, you're absolutely right.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
You got guys out there playing positions that they're not
accustomed to playing right. And then also too, you talk
about the lopsided play count for the defense in the
first half, over forty plays offense had like fifteen. Maybe
they're exhausted, so they're exhausted, humid day down there, they're exhausted.
The field conditions a little slippery, so you're lower bodies
(21:43):
working extra hard to stay upright when you're getting blocked
by a three hundred pounds linemen. There's all types of
things that are happening for those guys that are not
usually on the field playing those positions, and they have
to work through those things.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
And that's the job, and it's hard. Paul's hard.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Lonnie Johnson, I know, had a shoulder injury, one of
the core Special Teams players today. Injury updates are brought
to you by Atrium Health. You deserve to live your
best life and Atrium Health is here to help. More
coming up. Jonathan Stewart along with Jim Zoki here forty
eight fourteen. The Panthers fall to Tampa Bay record at
four and twelve, one game to go at Atlanta coming
up next week. We'll talk more about what's coming up.
We'll hear from the head coach, Dave Canalis, We'll hear
(22:23):
from Adam Field. Coming up next on the Carolina Panthers
Radio Network. Forty eight to fourteen. Panthers lose at Tampa
Bay to go to four and twelve on the season.
One to go coming up at the Atlanta Falcons next week.
But another bright spot as he has been all seasoned
veteran wide receiver Adam thiel And two touchdown catches, five catches,
(22:46):
one hundred and ten yards in the game, and he
joins the guys in the booth post game to talk
about the performance.
Speaker 6 (22:52):
We're joined by Panthers wide receiver Adam Feeling. Adam, I know,
this was kind of one of those games you knew
you guys were shorthanded going in For you guys, how
do you approach that when you know so many key
pieces are out?
Speaker 8 (23:08):
I mean, you really just have to focus on individually,
every single person on the team, just focusing on what
they need to do to be at their best. And
I feel like there was a little bit of lack
of energy. It wasn't lack of effort. It wasn't lack
of preparation. It was just a little bit of lack
of confidence and energy that I feel like we've been
playing with that that kind of confidence, that kind of
(23:29):
ease of like, hey we're we're a good football team
and we can hang with anyone. We kind of were
lacking that, you know, really after the first drive.
Speaker 9 (23:37):
Hey, Adam Jake here, I guess my question for you
is that is it more a youth type of situation
you talking about the mindset, or is just uh, maybe
a lack of belief.
Speaker 8 (23:49):
Yeah, I think I think at this point the season,
when you're kind of out of the playoffs and you know,
there's transactions happening that that you can tell that they're
trying to see what what kind of guys we have,
you know, for for you know, we're not when we
get onto Sunday as an organization, we're not playing for
next year. But at the same time, they want to
see who they have who can help us moving forward.
(24:11):
And I think sometimes guys get caught up and and
focusing on things that they can't control. Right, we really
have to just hone in on Okay, what's my preparation
look like? This week, what's my focus look like? And
then is what's my energy like on game day? You
can't in this league. You can't go through the motions.
It doesn't matter who you are, doesn't matter how good
you are, It doesn't matter how good you are as
a team. You just can't show up and go through
(24:33):
the motion against especially against good football teams that are
that are fighting for playoffs.
Speaker 10 (24:38):
Adam Luke here, you just talk about preparation and focus.
It's that first touchdown pass that you had, the little
well pump six. Is that something you guys saw in
the week, and then when that play gets called, you're
probably looking for what coverage you gotta looks like you
got the perfect coverage.
Speaker 8 (24:50):
Yeah, Brace did a great job of just kind of
recognizing that you know they're probably gonna to bite on
the on the double move. You know, you hope that
you can have the first move for you know, and
and they'll kind of give you that catch and run
and then if they don't, Bryce did a great job
just signaling giving us an opportunity to get the double
move off and it works for perfection.
Speaker 7 (25:12):
Add another great game by you.
Speaker 6 (25:14):
I know you would have wanted a better result but
we always appreciate hearing from you.
Speaker 7 (25:17):
Thank you, Thanks guys, all.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Right, Adam feeling there.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Panthers Locker Room Show is brought to you by Southern Star,
the official bourbon of the Carolina Panthers, celebrate the spirit
of the Carolinas.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
And Jase, do you played a lot of years in
this league? How hard is that?
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Like ten to fifteen minutes after a game to peace
the media have to talk and maybe a lost season
like this as well, where you want to say the
right things, but at the same time, it's got to
be disappointing because you work so hard every week and
throughout the many months trying to have a team that's competitive.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Yeah, I mean hearing his voice and hearing it very well,
the sound of defeat, but a pro at the same
time understanding the job. And he does that day in
and day out. Every time he's on the field. He's delivering.
And that's what you want when you have a guy
that's a veteran in your locker room, because again, you
(26:08):
know this is this can be a learning opportunity when
you have guys like that in the locker room and
you trust that he's gonna be able to you know,
look to his left and look to his right at
the young guys and say, hey, look we lost this
game and it was bad, right, but we got to
pick our heads up and we got to bring the
focus and energy next week. Because you're not just playing
(26:29):
for a contract here with the Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
This is the NFL. You're playing for the shield. And
if you have that.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Mindset and that shift and focus, it becomes a broader
and bigger picture. And I think a lot of times
we get so caught up in certain moments and aspects
of the game or the season that you miss an opportunity.
And today we missed an opportunity. And I think a
lot of guys when they watch film, you're gonna see,
(26:58):
they're gonna be able to see certain plays is where
they were. Just you know, take the sound coaching and
trust what you know is being told to them and
just trusting, you know, their own decision making and their
own habit, like you know, releasing of bad habits sometimes, right, Hey,
just don't do what you just did last play, right,
(27:19):
the play is gonna come to you. Don't react to
what is happening across you know, the line of scrimmage.
So much worry about what you're supposed to be doing
and the plays will come to you. So there's a
lot of that and I hear it in his voice
and I'm very confident that he's going to be able
to pass down a lot of knowledge.
Speaker 5 (27:36):
Guy.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
But you know, it's interesting because you had this duality
at the beginning of the season where your veteran receivers
that were starting were Adam Feelin and Deontay Johnson. Yeah,
two completely different mentoring moods. Care You've got one guy
who's a pro who's very good and is willing to
be what you described, and there was another one that wasn't.
(27:57):
We could just say at this point because he's been
on four teams les calendar that he's just as a
guy that was out kind of mostly for him a guy.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Yeah, and so that matters. They have that in the
locker room.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
And you don't want me guys, right, You want we guys.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
Guys that will go out there and bust their tails
and you know, put their body on the lines at
the end of the day, that's what you're doing, but
do it with some type of purpose. And Adam Thielen's
that guy and Bryce sees it because he gives him
the ball and we want him to have the ball.
You know, him talking about that, you know, describing that touchdown,
(28:35):
that pump six and and just but more so making
it about Bryce right being able to see me, him
him being able to pick apart the defense and see
the opportunity to give me the ball. Like him even
explaining it in that way, in that format, says a
(28:55):
lot about Adam Thielen because it's all about the quarterbacks
sometimes well most of the time, right when it comes
to the past game, it's about what the quarterback sees.
And if I can be that type of receiver that
he can connect with, I just give him my eyes immediately,
then he's going to continue to throw it to me.
He's going to have trust in me, and hopefully, you know,
(29:16):
guys like exaber leget you know, starts picking up certain
things like this from Adam Thielen. You know, like just
give the presence that you want the ball. If you
give that presence, you'll get it, and you'll get it
at a timely matter to where.
Speaker 5 (29:30):
It's a more catchable ball for you.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Because there's a lot of you know, I call him
just missus, right, you're gonna have a lot of just
misses during games where if you just got those back,
that's a third down conversion, that's a touchdown, that's an
explosive play. And we have a lot of those every
single game. If you go back to all the games
where it's like, man, we almost beat the Chiefs, what
(29:55):
happened to the Dallas Cowboys and I don't really.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
Know the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
All these great, these good playoff teams that have come
in here, and we've given ourselves a shot. You look
back at why we didn't win those games, it was
the just misses. And so hopefully, you know, Deelan can
just you know, rub off some some good wisdom and
pass it along to these guys. And you have Robert
Hunt got a lot of veterans in that locker room
(30:22):
that have played a lot of football and that have
a lot of young guys that are looking up to
them in the depth. You know, hopefully they're looking at
these guys and saying, man, let me learn something from
them in the offseason. Let me get your number, let
me go work out with you, let's go run routes,
let's go let's play football. In February you know, that's
(30:44):
kind of what it needs. That's what it takes. You
have to find that chemistry, and you got to find
it early and often.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Yep, didn't develop your game. Yeah, yeah, good stuff, Thank you, Stu.
All right, well take a break here. I still to
come Coach Dave Canalis. The guys in the booth with
their thoughts. We'll give you another scoreboard update. Panthers lose
in Tapa forty eight to fourteen, but more to talk
about next. You're listening to Panthers Football brought to you
by Morris Jenkins.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Back to the Panthers postgame show preseumly by Southern Star
unofficial bourbon of the Carolina Panthers celebrate the spirit of
the Carolinas.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Tampa Bay forty eight to fourteen.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
An important win for Tampa Bay, trying to keep their
playoff hopes alive. The Panthers one more game to go
with a game in Atlanta, the team that Tampa Bay
is chasing coming up next week on the road as
the Panthers at four and twelve. After this forty eight
to fourteen loss. But if you're not winning your learning,
let's hear what do we learn now from the head
coach Dave Canalis.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
We're joined by Panthers head coach Dave Canallis. Dave described
the challenge of, you know, playing an offense as good
as Tampa with a short stack on defense due to
all the injuries.
Speaker 11 (31:54):
You know, that's just the next challenge and it falls
on all of us, though it falls on you know, offensively,
we were you know, twenty two percent on third down,
so we couldn't stay on the field to maintain our drives.
Some near misses in the past game, some great opportunities
down the field. You know, I was really proud of
just the attempts that we had. You know, we didn't
come up with enough of them to really continue those.
(32:15):
And then of course you put the put the Bucks
offense back out there, and it's a really potent, you
know group with the runners and the receivers and Bakers
played fantastic today. So I got to tip my hat
first and foremost to the Bucks the way they played.
But you know, for us, it's about finding our football,
finding a way to finish.
Speaker 9 (32:33):
Hey, coach is Jake just talk a little bit offensively.
You know, first drive of the game was so easy
for us, and I know we went three and out
on our next couple of drives. But it seemed like
there were opportunities, just missed opportunities.
Speaker 7 (32:46):
Did did Xavier like lose.
Speaker 9 (32:48):
The ball in the air when Bryce kind of scrambled
out down the field to the right, It seemed like
that was an opportunity for us to have a big play.
Speaker 11 (32:54):
Yeah, there was a couple ops that way, you know,
And I think it's just, you know, how do I
find a way to get the ball to Xavier his
Xavier track it to come up with those opportunities, you
know when we have them, and you know, those ones
escaped us today, Jake. So I think that's kind of
the way that it felt, you know, didn't feel like
there weren't things out there. It just felt like we
just had some near misses and you know where we
(33:14):
hit him, you know, on the first drive, and really,
you know, we're taking advantage of things in the past game.
Speaker 7 (33:20):
Hey, coach Luke here.
Speaker 10 (33:21):
I know it's a difficult day on the defense side
of the ball, but I think A'shawn Robinson has done
a really good job. He obviously he had the one
sack and the other one was a rough in call.
We understand why but just kind of his emergence and
as an interior pass rusher this year.
Speaker 11 (33:35):
Yeah, I mean it's a tribute to Ashan and his
off season work. You know, he came in camp best
shape of his life. That was a focus for him,
and it's paying off. It's paid off big time for
him being able to, you know, play more snaps you
know really you know, than he's used to, and part
of it's out of necessity, but also just like giving
him those opportunities to work on his craft and rush
(33:55):
the passer. So I'm really proud of the season that
he's had.
Speaker 7 (33:58):
Awesome. Thank you. Thing is one week left in this
regular season? How do you approach it? Yeah, finish time.
You know, this is an opportunity.
Speaker 11 (34:07):
We come into the locker room right after this game
and just say, hey, we got one more opt to
finish our way, to finish our style of football. So
let's get back to that. Let's attack it this week.
Everybody for each other. And you know, the guys had
a great look in their eyes and I know that
they want to have this opportunity to be able to
finish our on our terms.
Speaker 7 (34:24):
Coach. Thank you, all right, thank you, Stu.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
You're just talking that phrase near missus. He said it
a couple of times there, and that's what it is.
And it sounds people may be a little bit pedestrian
to say that, but it is just a nuance here
and there sometimes of just being less mechanical, being more
savvy with that time and those reps that come, and
there's practice reps that matter to get you ready for games.
But then you do those game reps right to be
(34:49):
able to compete and to be as good as a
team like Tampa Bay when you're dealing with Mike Evans
and Baker Mayfield and guys have been around for a
long time.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
Yeah, he hit it right on the nail. I think
when you're playing a potent team.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
I love how he.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Put that potent and he knows because he ran year.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
And you have to be sure on offense when you're
struggling on defense that sometimes your best defense is playing
good offense. And the third downs that he's talking about,
the third down conversions, the near missus, you know, those
are big opportunities to extend drives because you never know
that third down conversion turns into a thirteen play drive
(35:27):
for a touchdown, and maybe it's a field goal. But
it's taking time off the clock, and it's moving the
ball on the field. And now you can play a
little bit of field position, right. And so when you're
giving the ball to a great, not a great, but
a good pretty good offense, and you're giving them good
field position too, you're making it easier for them, right.
(35:50):
And that's what essentially your opponent wants is to pinpoint
you and make you one dimensional. And that's what they
did today. And it was up a creek without a paddle.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
It was a long day paddling with that duck that
was out there on the field today, trying to paddle
up that stream. All right, more to come. I'll give
you another scoreboard update when we come back. We'll hear
from the guys on the booth and Jay stuw and
I will pick our hardest working player of the game.
Brought to you by Sunbelt Rentals. Forty eight fourteen Tampa
Bay wins over the Panthers. More coming up next though,
on the Carolina Panthers Radio Network. All right, Jim Zochi,
(36:28):
Jonathan Stewart with you. Postgame scoreboard brought to you by
North Carolina Education Lottery and Digital Instance it's a whole
new way to win mobile games and loads of real
cash prizes.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
Register to play digital.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Instance, today, we didn't like our score forty eight fourteen
Tampa Bay wins. So let's see what other scorers we
could talk about. Browns over the Dolphins actually now tie.
Browns and Dolphins are tied three to three in the
second quarter. Packers and Vikings are in their first quarter
scoreless still and then tonight Falcons and the Commanders. Earlier
today in the NFL, the Bills over the Jets forty
(36:59):
to fourteen. Raiders win over the Saints twenty five to ten,
Giants forty five to thirty three over the Colts. I'm
sure some Giants fans predictably not happy that they probably
hurt their chances for that number one draft pick with
their third win of the season. Eagles, doesn't matter who's
playing quarterback, forty one seven. They'd blow out the Dallas Cowboys.
And it was the Jaguars today over the Titans twenty
(37:20):
to thirteen. Somebody had to win their fourth game, and
it was Jacksonville in that one. And you'll be seeing
some good college football. You're alma mater, Oregon playing in
the Rose Bowl, the rematch with Ohio State, which was
a one point game the first time, and the Ducks
win that one. In this game, there is slight underdog
two and a half points because of what Ohio State
did last week against Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
We have a short memory here. We forget Michigan.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
But you never know what week to week. As I
say with twenty to twenty one year olds, you never
know week to week. But as you go watch the
Rose Bowl this week and go see your number one
ranked Oregon Ducks, what are some of the things you're
seeing as far as that matchup with the rematch with Ohio.
Speaker 4 (37:53):
State, Well, you already know who I think is gonna win.
It's going to be Ducks by a bunch, and and.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
They're gonna run the ball. They're gonna run the ball.
These two things I know about Jonathan Stewart.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
No, but more so importantly we last game we played
Ohio State, we didn't have our number one pass rusher
and Jordan Birch, who is a freak on the edge,
and so I think that's gonna be a huge factor
in this game, being able to get after the quarterback
and putting pressure on him. One of the things I
hoped that I hope to see from our defense from Tosh,
(38:26):
our defensive coordinator is mixing up the coverages and kind
of bring us some confusion pre snap again. I think
at the collegiate level, if you can confuse these young
guys that still need development, that's gonna get get you
that that that that second or that half a second
(38:47):
of hesitation, and that can be the game changer of
you know, throwing these quarterbacks off of rhythm, especially when
you have too talented receivers, young receivers, uh for Ohio
State that you have to defend. They went to town
on this last game, but we also went to town
on them as well. I'm not really worried about what
we're gonna be able to do on offense. It's just
(39:09):
more so defensively. Are we going to be able to
stop them? You know from you know putting up points?
Speaker 3 (39:16):
Match fun to watch. You got Georgia Notre Dame. What
use you're looking forward to? I like I watched the
more of this Boise State running back A right.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
I want to see what Boise State has to do.
What I know what he's gonna do. I feel like
he's gonna win. No matter what right. I just want
to know is does Boise State have a defense to
stop him?
Speaker 5 (39:37):
You know?
Speaker 4 (39:38):
And I think once you get to this level of
you know, the committee that you're around right now, uh,
it's a different ball game. You know, you start seeing
guys you know, start you know, sprinting away with how
much talent they actually do have. And I think you
saw that in s m U. I thought you saw
that with Clemson, even these schools that we were anticipating
(40:02):
for them to be a little bit more dominant and
a little bit more competitive. I wonder if Boise State
will be able to resemble some type of factor that
they belong in this playoff.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Yeah, because some of the other ones have not Who
got in? And so I guess I'm you and some
others I didn't answer that bell when given that opportunity.
All right, we'll take a time out here. We got
two more segments to go. We'll hear from the guys
in Tampa. We'll pick our hardest working player of the game.
Forty eight fourteen bucks over the Panthers. The final score
today Panthers Football is brought to you by Morris Jenkins.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Back to Jim's OK with more of the Panthers postgame
show pre seemly by Southern Star unofficial bourbon of the
Carolina Panthers celebrate the spirit of the Carolinas.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Pathers fall to four and twelve with a forty eight
fourteen loss on the road to Tampa. Bayles's head back
there now with a niche and Luke and Jake and
get their final thoughts from this game.
Speaker 6 (40:59):
Any sharp Jake, Louke Keigley final score at Raymond James
Stadium in Tampa says Bucks forty eight Panthers fourteen. And
what you really have to do is separate the immediate
and the reactionary from the big picture at large. And Jake, Yeah,
today you kind of knew going in it was going
to be tough sledding. When you're missing Josie Jewel, You're
(41:21):
down essentially to a fifth, sixth and seventh string linebacker.
You're beat up on the back end of your defense,
missing j C. Horn, Shaw, Smith, Wade, Cuba's out, Taylor
Moten is out. You're facing a team that needs to
win for a chance at a division title.
Speaker 7 (41:38):
Tampa played well.
Speaker 6 (41:39):
You give them the credit, but I think the big
picture here is still important. This game really isn't a
microcosm of what we've seen over the last seven weeks.
It's hard to win in the NFL when you're down
that many bodies and the toll the erosion with injuries
has added up over the course of the season, you
get an outcome like this, big pit. Sure things are
(42:00):
still moving in the right direction for this franchise as
you have an eye tour the offseason free agency in
the draft.
Speaker 9 (42:06):
Well, I truly believe it has and I think you know,
we talked about it.
Speaker 7 (42:11):
We saw it. Beat the Saints and beat the Giants.
Speaker 9 (42:14):
Right then then you go to toe to toe with
Kansas City the Tampa and but you have a setback,
right when you have a setback against Dallas, So how
are you gonna respond? Well, we came back, responded beat
a team in Arizona that needed to stay alive, went
and stay alive. We had nothing to play for. We
beat them, and then more attrition is just taking place.
But you know what this team's made of in some
(42:34):
of the fight and listen, I don't think we're playing with.
Speaker 7 (42:37):
The full deck.
Speaker 9 (42:38):
And hopefully we can add to that deck of cards
next year.
Speaker 7 (42:43):
And will we be there next year.
Speaker 9 (42:45):
I don't know, but we're gonna be a lot different
than we were. And I just think the approach of
what we're doing offensively, and I'm gonna strict strictly to
the offense, the player.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
The quarterback, What has what has happened?
Speaker 9 (42:58):
I think at the end of last year, you know,
there was some questions we weren't good offensively. We needed
to give Bryce an opportunity and addressed the old line.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
First couple of games were very.
Speaker 9 (43:06):
Rough to watch, and then there's some questions, my gosh,
like it just might not work out for him. But
to the kid's credit, he took the benching with grace,
with honor, with whatever you wanted, with respect, and he
watched Andy and he cheered Andy on, and he kept
going to practice and studying and then lo and behold,
as fate would have it, and unfortunate car accident, and
(43:30):
then he has to play again, and it looks like
a different human being. And it's not just from us.
Everyone seeing that, and it's like, oh, my gosh, like
the kid needed to catch his breath, and you're excited
to building going forward.
Speaker 6 (43:43):
And loop defensively, you kind of knew going into the
season you couldn't really afford a rash of injuries because
Dan Morgan in the front office put a lot of
the resources into the offense because they had to find
out what they had in Bryce. So that meant you
lack depth in certain areas on defense, and the defense
got hit with a lot of injuries that ended up
getting exposed. But I think we all know defense will
(44:05):
get addressed over the next few months, and right now
you just kind of have to deal with what you
have in terms of the personnel. But reinforcements are coming.
Speaker 7 (44:15):
Oh absolutely.
Speaker 10 (44:16):
You know, the first and foremost Derek Brown comes back,
which is huge. But I mean you look at you
look at free agency, you get you know. I think
Ashawn Robinson's been a really bright bright spot for US.
I mean, he had his he had a six and
a half sack today. He should have had a seventh
one today, And I mean that Roughening call obviously negates that,
but seven and a half sacks are an intier defensive
lineman's pretty dag one good. I think Wanham's done a
(44:38):
really good job he's had He's had four sacks in
the last six games. A guy that we needed off
the edge. I think Clowney, you know, obviously had the
off side penners can't have those. But he was disruptive
in the run game today, had a big sack. And
then Mike Jackson a good trade this offseason. You trade
a seventh round linebacker and go get Mike Jackson, a
guy that's played, you know, all sixteen games so far
this year and done a really good job for us.
(44:59):
And you know, I think Trevin Wallace is a guy
that you know, we saw a little glimpse of him.
I don't think that he's afraid to play physical. I
think he loves the game. Talking to the people in
the building, He's a great person that loves a game
of football and wants to be good at it. So,
you know, I think you've done a good job in
free agency and in the draft. Shaw Smith Wade's done
a good job for us. Obviously he didn't play today,
but we have pieces on the roster. They might not
(45:22):
be healthy, but they're on the roster and we'll have
those guys moving forward.
Speaker 6 (45:26):
All right, Luke Jake, thanks for your thoughts. Congratulations Luke
again on being a Hall of Fame finalist.
Speaker 7 (45:34):
We are thrilled for you. Thank you. That does it
from Tampa forty eight to fourteen.
Speaker 9 (45:41):
Luke hates it when we talk about I can't wait
to talk about it all next week.
Speaker 7 (45:44):
We're going to talk about it all next week. I
can't wait all next week talk about it on the
postgame show. Guys.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
Yeah, Luke is definitely a guy that is humble and
makes it even more awesome that he is a Hall
of Fame finalist in the final fifth team with Steve Smith,
Jared Allen who played for the Panthers, and Jay stew
We talked about that with you in the pregame show
as well. But just look at the embodiment of the
alumni and the Panther Legends program and all that. What
(46:12):
a great group of guys and somebody like you that
just stay here in the Charlotte area. That I'm sure
a lot of teams have a lot of guys, but
knowing from this experience and seeing all you guys, it
really is a great collection of human beings that played
great football that have stayed here too.
Speaker 2 (46:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
Man, just kudos to how our locker room was formed.
You know, just good individuals. I mean I was hanging
out with Thomas Davis. We'll be doing some post game
stuff today together. But it really is like a brotherhood.
And I think when you are part of a team
that is influenced in that way where guys care about
(46:49):
you like family and want the best for you and
look out for you, they invite you to their house
and their homes to be with their families, to eat,
to grow up. I mean, you think about it. I
was drafted and I was twenty twenty years old, twenty one,
just fresh twenty one years old, and you know, just
(47:10):
basically you were young.
Speaker 5 (47:12):
Yeah, I was a.
Speaker 4 (47:12):
Young boy and coming here and you know, finding guys
like Thomas Davis taking me in too, you know his
you know, defending Dreams Foundation and understanding how much bigger
it is than football and how to give back and
just the community aspect here and Charlotte, you know, really
just caught you know, the wave here at a very
(47:35):
timely matter where you know the city's growing and you
have an opportunity to be a part of that growth
and you know where you're living and I don't know, man,
just a special This is a special place, and you
hear it from a lot of veterans that have come
from other teams. I remember talking to Peanut Tillman, and
you know, it was like maybe his first week and
(47:55):
he stopped over there by our locker and me and Tobert,
you know, we're getting ready to go out for practice,
and he comes up. He said, man, this this place
is different. I'm like, yeah, what do you mean. He's like, man,
I don't know. Just the locker room.
Speaker 7 (48:07):
Man.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
Y'all y'all are y'all are tight, tight knit group. And
I didn't really realize that until I went to New York.
When I was in New York, you know, it was
every man for himself and so having guys like Luke,
having guys like Royan Khalil, greg Ols and Steve Smith
(48:28):
and even Jared Allen, you know, being here for a year.
He was a guy that was supposed to be in
our locker room. You fit, the mold guys that were.
Speaker 5 (48:37):
We guys, not me guys.
Speaker 2 (48:40):
So he played some we fence, Yeah, we fence. I
saw you.
Speaker 3 (48:44):
Ron Rivera made the rounds, be sure he saw everybody.
Went to do a national radio last week. I know
you saw him and we talked him up in the
hallway right outside this door, and I'm going to my
car in the parking deck across the way, and as
I'm getting ready open my car door, he's okay, turn on.
Ron Rivera's car is like two slots away from when
he stood there for another ten minutes.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
It just caught up.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
But the coaches, the staff, and it transcends even the players,
just the people that work in the building and all
that stuff is awesome. All right, one final segment to go,
which means one more break here and we'll wrap things
up with Jay Stu. Forty eight to fourteen Panthers lose
to Tampa Bay. We'll wrap things up next. You're listening
to the Panthers Football brought to you by Morris Jenkins.
Speaker 1 (49:19):
The Panthers postgame Show continues preseely by Southern Star, unofficial
bourbon of the Carolina Panthers celebrate the spirit of the Carolinas.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
Did he say Southern Star. I think he did.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Southern Star Bourbon Postgame Show For all of your bourbon needs,
It's Southern Star The Bourbon Postgame Show, Hardest Workie Player
of the Game, presented by Sun Belt Reynolds, the official
and all equipment partner of the Carolina Panthers. Sometimes when
you lose forty eight to fourteen. That sounds like the
best product we have on the air.
Speaker 7 (49:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
Bourbon, Yeah, bourbon and big bourbon in tool rents now
I am too.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
Yeah, I'm glad to hear that from me. Shoot, I'm
right there with you and lock step on that one.
But now the business Jase douw about the hardest working
player of the game, won't we Uh pick one from offense,
pick one from defense?
Speaker 2 (50:05):
What you got on offense?
Speaker 4 (50:07):
I'm gonna go with the guy that scored two touchdowns.
Adam Thielen showed off his four four five speed from
twenty thirteen today. Uh, double pump move, getting safety, you know,
lost in space and making himself look young again.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
Yeah, I like that one a lot. And uh, the
defensive player, this is amazing. Again.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
You don't want your defense on the field so long
that you would have fourteen tackles. But Chandler Wooton comes
off the Niners practice squad, comes back to his Carolina Panthers,
where's played before, No doubt about that. But in certainly
in the starting line up. Fourteen tackles, seven solo tackles today.
Speaker 5 (50:39):
Yeah, he's gonna be sore.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
He put in some work.
Speaker 5 (50:41):
He's gonna be he's gonna be sore.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
I think I go for the practice squad to being
a fourteen tackle guy the next week.
Speaker 5 (50:46):
Yeah, well, kudos to him. You know that's what you
want to do.
Speaker 4 (50:50):
You want to take advantage of your opportunities, and you
know this is an opportunity to build up your resume,
whether it's for here or someone else, because someone else
is going to see that stat line and say, wait
a minute, let's go.
Speaker 5 (51:00):
Look at that film.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
Yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
All right, before we get out of here's pause ten seconds
for station identification. You're listening on the Carolina Panthers or
radio network.
Speaker 7 (51:09):
All right.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Thanks to our crew hell Hammrick and Jason Hutchinson down
in Tampa, Wendell Black, David Eades, Matt Hogan, Bibrien Putman,

out with you and safe travels to the Rose Bowl
this week. I don't mean it when I say it,
a good luck to you in Oregon because they're on
the last state.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
No, I mean, I like Ohio States, you do. They
grew up in Ohio group Ohio.
Speaker 5 (51:42):
Wow, so you're a Buckey.
Speaker 2 (51:44):
I didn't go to school.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
I went to Bowling Green actually, but it's called the
Ohio State University for a reason. It's so much bigger
than any other college up there. So here it's so
fractured with so many different games and schools and programs
and sports. But up there, like there was one team.
It was football, and it was Ohio State, and that
pretty much dominated pretty much the entire state. Well, souper
(52:06):
Desmon Howard, he wanted to go to Michigan.
Speaker 4 (52:09):
Well, I hope that we win, and I wish nothing
but bad thing Buckeye.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
I know you mean that, I know you do you
at least like the Buckeyes. Like the chocolate Holladay treat
the Buckeyes, knowing nothing about it, chocolate and peanut butter chocolate.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
It looks like a little Buckeye.
Speaker 3 (52:26):
So it's like this chocolate coating with a peanut butter
center in it really had like a Recee's cup in away.
Speaker 2 (52:30):
But like open. Oh wow, it looks like an actual buck.
Guy from Buckeye is from a Buckeye tree.
Speaker 4 (52:35):
You think I'll be able to find those in California
during the rosebil somewhere.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Oh yeah, yeah, you have to get him from the
people from Columbus. But you think they'll accept me, Yes,
absolutely so they might. They might eat some roasted duck,
So we'll see it anyway, Looking forward to a great
game with that, we'll catch up soon. Thank you, Jay Stot,
thanks to all the crew here, and good night again.
In the final Bucks over the Panthers forty eight fourteen.
Next week on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.
