the parents, and I don't remember the other two.

There you go, congratulations, Luke. That's a big accomplishment.

You remember here when they graduated from first grade? They
can have you went to choreograph first grade grad that's.

When we were like, yeah, graduation, yeah, yeah, yeah, was

And it's been just such a crazy.

You know, it's funny because you, I guess, Paul, you
were talking about you had graduation party season last week,
and so it started making me think, like did I
go to any graduation parties after high school? And I
guess I did, but of course they weren't my own.
And then in college, I didn't even go to my
own graduation, like I didn't. I didn't attend my graduation.

Were you like Donna Martin or something? I'm and I
lived off campus. I really didn't feel like part of that,
Like I just I feel you just give me my diploma,
I'm good. Same.

Speaker 8 (02:06):
I went to the small one for my school, and
then right after I got my diploma, I walked outside
and texted my family, come outside, like we can beat
traffic and get a good spot. But the big giant
like commencement, me and my roommate skipped and I think
we watched Bob's Burgers on our couch all day.

Yeah, so I don't know. I guess did I miss
out on?

Speaker 4 (02:25):
But you didn't go to graduation parties in high school.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
No, I said, I guess I did. I didn't have one.
None of my I didn't have one, none of none
of my close friends had one. But I think we
we you know, uh crashed a couple of you know,
other people in our class.

I was having like a major home renovation my parents
were doing when I graduated, so we had a big
college one.

But I went to everybody's graduation party in high school. Yeah,
that was great.

We had a time.

So it's like free rein to drink.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
I was gonna say, it's all about the underage drinking,
the stress of the parents and the people hosting the party,
and the tire the kids to find places did.

Stress is a great word, Like I'm going out of
my mind right now, Like I don't want any of
that going on at my house and get shots in
The're so definitely afraid of something bad happening, and you know,
you're like you're taking keys from people, but someone leaves
that you don't know, like it's just it really is stressful.
And then some some parents it's like there's nothing you know,

Like TEJ refers to those as the Amish parties, and
then the others, it's like people just walking around olden.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I'm like, that's not happening. I told TJ's like, that's
not happening here.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
We had let.

Speaker 7 (03:35):
Everybody know, I had a duel one with my sister
because she graduated college the same year I graduated high school,
so we did it together. And she was twenty two
so she had, you know, old enough to drink and everything.
So my parents did the keys thing. They just said, yeah,
the ten of you, you're all staying here or your
parents are coming to pick you up and they're going
to come and say talk to us and say I'm

taking him with me, and the whole thing. But we
have a huge one.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Of letting my kid have a prom party. Oh just
remember laying in bed at three in the morning, going
please let it, please let it. I love.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Yeah, well you had a bunch of drunk college girls
at your party, so that must have been.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Maybe all right, Well we do we do have an
announcement the Tom Brady Statue. I know we've had a
lot of emails and calls. When's it going to happen.
It is going to happen, and it's going to be
on August eighth, prior to the Patriots and Commander's preseason game.

(04:38):
So I'm assuming Tom will be there for that game.
And uh, they're going to unveil the statue and there's
a hype video on Patriots dot com as we speak
for the statue. So there we go. I can't wait

wife's like they took like fifty pictures, like what is
going you know, and like they're just getting everything piece.

I'm an anti selfie when you go on vacation and
you take selfies, like what's the point take pictures of
what you're seeing?

Yes, so many great photos are ruined by someone standing
in them.

Right as soon as the show starts to it's just
the whole audience.

And the other things up, like like, uh, you know,
you go to a game, a sporting event and you're
you're just holding your phone videotape. Are you gonna you
need to prove to somebody that you were there? Like
why are you doing that right? Right?

Or you're gonna sit back down? And I know I'm
gonna rewatch that concert. I didn't pay attention, right.

I love going to the beach and it's like families everywhere.
And then some girls just like recreating her own sports
illustrated photo shoot for like her thousand Instagram followers.

What beach are you at? Just just asking for a.

Friends, all of them, all of them now.

Not the ones I go to, sending that kids and
exactly beaches everywhere may Flowers younger, Yeah, much younger. Yeah,
they actually had some brawls there a couple of years ago.
They had to like do something with the parking, like
it's really bricked of now. And then on the beach,

like kids were getting into fights and stuff.

These young kids and trash the beaches.

The day when you were when you were patrolling the
beaches is like the alpha dog of Cape Cod.

I was the mayor of Corporation Beach and Dennis. But
you know, you go out there and you start doing
your day drinking and you haven't eaten yet, and you
know you get drunk.

Or faster when you Darty if you will the day party, Darty,

So all right, So a little note that didn't get
announced or anything, but it's just an observation. Uh, Marty
Maphu now being listed officially as a linebacker, And we
talked in the past about you know, are we worried
about linebacker depth And I'm sure that this is the
answer to that. But just in I thought that they're saying, okay, Marty,

(08:02):
you're a linebacker now. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Thoughts, Well, I'd start with I think he's a little
banged up again, which was disappointing. And I think he's
been a full participant and that has been the thing
that's hurt him the most, other than the position flexibility.
I think it's a move that makes sense given the
scheme change. So he's gonna he's gonna have to get
healthy and he's gonna have to somehow start to string
days together because it's hard to say, even if he

(08:25):
plays well in that position, is this really a guy
we can can count on. He needs to prove that
he can stay healthy. Hopefully he can do that in camp.
We remember last year. I think it was like same thing.
It was like two practices in maybe the first day
I think pads maybe that was it he got he
got dinged up and then he was dealing with that
until he jumped in in September and like played the
whole game. So it makes sense for him size wise
to play in the scheme. I just I still am

(08:46):
not sure if he's really a true fit as like
a Spelane or Jack Gibbons, those guys that are a
little smaller and can run. We'll see how he fits in.
I'm not sure yet.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
Okay, Yeah, I mean you're right about the injuries. That's
the number one thing that's held him back. We don't
even really have a large sample of him playing in
games because of all the different injuries that he's had.
But I've been wanting them to play linebacker since the
day they drafted them. I mean, this is so.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
When you look at when you call Marty Maphu a linebacker,
is it you know, I know that it's more linebacker
has become so vague now, but is it an inside backer.
It's an outside, off.

Speaker 7 (09:22):
The ball inside backer, second level of the defense kind
of guy. I mean, this is what he did at
Sacramento State, and.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Does he have the size for that for a modern linebacker.

Speaker 7 (09:31):
Yeah, I mean two twenty two twenty five, six' three,
Yeah and you know he's.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
This is what he did in.

Speaker 7 (09:36):
College it was his sideline to sideline, linebacker coverage linebacker
At Sacramento, state just making plays all over the field
at that. Level and they tried to make him into the,
safety AND i get there was a lot of overlap
between the hybrid safety and linebacker and the old scheme it.
Was it wasn't totally a departure from what he was.
Doing BUT i think when you look at the way

(09:57):
that they want to play in this. Scheme there's a
lot of coverage things that they could maybe do with
him where he's a little bit more athletic and a
little bit more versatile in some of those high stress coverage.
Situations so you, know whether he's dropping in a deeper,
zone or he's picking up a crossing, route or he's
playing man to man on a running back or something like,
that that you would really trust him to do a

(10:17):
little bit more at that spot potentially than like a
true linebacker body type like A Jelaanni, tavai you, know
or something like. That so that's the WAY i see.
It you, know maybe third, down you, know situational packages
with him playing as a coverage linebacker is a place
to start. Deuces. Right if he doesn't get healthy and
he doesn't get on the, program, then as Like paul

(10:38):
used to, say then it's not going to matter what
position he. Plays but this is where he should have
been from day, one was this, spot but it didn't
fit the old scheme for him to be there from day.
One so now we're here.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
NOW i think he's a smart. Player that was evident
what all the coaches said last year when he was
hurt and then just jumped in and, LITERALLY i, think
played every single. SNAP i think there's opportunities.

Still at that.

POSITION i term if he was able to somehow pull
it all together and become a backup, linebacker maybe cart
out a little bit of a. Role And Jack gibbons
is here on a one year. Deal you, Know spolene
is older than, thirty SO i mean there is long
term need at that, position and if he is able
to do, it maybe is covering tight end something as
simple as that with his size might make a little
bit more sense than some of their.

SLIDE i totally agree With.

Evan i've thought of him as could be unique in
his ability to play, linebacker and.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
If it's just safety then it's kind, of you, know.

Many so that whole sideline to sideline athletic, profile, smaller.
QUICKER i mean he can, run, YEAH i mean he
absolutely has that kind of. Mobility we'll see if you
have a fred if you're, right maybe he doesn't have enough,
bulk BUT i think it's worth worth a roll of
the dice to see if he could be a full time.

Speaker 7 (11:49):
Linebacker the size in the, block anticipation in like reading
blocks against the. Run i'm not sure if that element
will be, there but if he's playing on third down
and long situations as like a coverage, LINEBACKER i think
that he could carve out a role like, that and
they could use a player like that to maybe take
A spolane Or Christian ellis off the field on third

down and bring in a more athletic body. Type and
it isn't the worst idea in the, world But i'm
glad that we're finally. Here took a long.

It's all going to come together at the linebacker. Position Between,
tabai who's, hurt we'll see him hopefully at, camp but you,
know his body type Versus Anthony, jennings who has been
a really solid edge. Player not sure exactly how he.
Fits how Does Marty mapu fit into the? Equation, yeah
other than After, SPALLINE i think there's there's a lot
of question marks about the linebacker position that will have

to be answered in.

about it before the. Show you, Know Keon white had
his comments ABOUT i feel LIKE i have real coaching this,
year and you know who he was referring to probably
his position. Coaches but you, know once he said, that
a lot of people online just took the liberty just
to just take it As Girod mayo and just start

Bashing Gerrod. Mayo lay Off Girod. MAYO i, mean, yes
last year was a. Disaster we get. It he wasn't,
ready he wasn't put in the best position to succeed for.

do a great. Job we don't have to kill them

was pretty disgruntled at the end of last year. Too you,

Right BUT i think he needs to be aware of
this puts a little bit more of a spotlight on.
Him this is a key season for Keo On, white
and if he is getting real coaching, now then it's to, TRANSLATE.

I, hope because he started the season out pretty, well
you know That cincinnati, game the whole team, did and you,
know he kind of, faded And i'm hoping it was.
Coaching i'm hoping there's a reason for that and that
he comes back in this year and you, know lives
up to his. Potential so he might be my BIGGEST
x factor on the defense this. Season he's the youngest

of the defensive ends right now that are getting significant playing.
Time evan AND i both talked about biggest concern with
the defense's speed off the, edge getting that consistent edge.
Pressure it's been a challenge For Keo white to really
break that DOWN i mean he's he's good on the
inside and tight, spaces and he's a nightmare for guards and,
centers no, problem no question about. That but at some

point they're gonna need to develop an edge. RUSHER i
Mean Harold Landry Chase. On they're both older, guys.

AND i MEAN i there's not maybe those guys will
have a, rebirth BUT i think next. Offseason, yeah we're
talking About but if you're if you're expecting.

Ke On white to be in the mold of A
Max crosby or A, Watt he's not that, player never,
was wasn't in. College that's not who he. Is, fair
but he is a.

Disruptor he needs to be a compliment To Milton williams
And Christian, barmore like they need a third, guy because
those two guys are gonna get a lot of attention
on the. Inside we're gonna get double, teams they're gonna
get high level matchups and things like that on the.
Inside and Ke On white's gonna have one on ones
for seventeen and he's.

them you, Know williams and Uh barmore and In, white
those are three guys that they. Can they they'll they'll

emerge you, know as that clean up guy and as

step AND i want to credit you, Know Mike smith
is his position coach Now patriots outside linebackers, coach who

he seems to really be getting along with and as
a good working relationationship. With obviously the comments that he
made the other, day what god attention was. That But Mike,
smith you, know is the guy that he was giving
credit to at the same, time and he said that
he has a plan now he knows and when a
pass rush plan of you, know if this guy does,
This i'm going to do, that and how to attack

tackles and how to you, know his counters and like
all that kind of, stuff and that that's.

Missing like he's a, Specimen like there's no doubt that he,
can you, know play from a physical, standpoint but it's
the thinking part of the game THAT i think was
tough for. Him and if they can get him to that,

they're a defensive. Front they had LIKE i Think Javon

was the edge guy, absolutely but they had they had

williams to see a if he can do what he
did In spurts In philadelphia on a full time, basis
and b if he's affected at all by not having

the amount of talent around him up front that he

to game plan and make sure that they don't wreck the.

that's one of the things WHERE i want to see

what how is how's the pocket affected when when there's

blocking going, on like right, now it seems like virtually
every play they were getting right, in but it's very
hard And mike talked about this On. Tuesday you know
how hard it is for the line to deal with
basically every place third and ten and they can't really
do anything about stopping the guys coming after the.

Mean it's one of the fundamental questions of a good
defense is can you win your one on one? Matchups
or do we have to get creative and start scheming
ways to get guys to the. Quarterback you hope at
this point that they're going to be able to get
win those one on one matches because you do have
some guys drawing. ATTENTION i just continue to be, worried
a little skeptical that they're going to have the juice
off the edges this year and, again like JUST i

don't know if it got drowned, out BUT i think
next season we're talking about this team needs an elite pass.
Rusher that is going to be the narrative twenty. TWENTY
i wanted to resubmit that for the.

Record, NO i mean that might IF i had, to
IF i had to look at we actually do this
on catch point two because we're always looking ahead to
the draft next year twenty twenty, six is pass rusher
is going to be their number one, NEED i would
say going into that. YEAR i mean, now right tackle
will probably be up there Because moses is getting, older
and number one receiver will always be a need until

they fill. That but, truly that's a pillar position that
they don't really have like a guy at and it's
a lot similar to, receiver where like you have a pecking,
quarter like you, Know Milton Williams now To paul's, point
is going to be the number one guy that teams
are going to game plan for and teams are going
to be ready for every single. Week they've talked about
using him Like Jeffrey, simmons you know In tennessee in

that similar. Role so maybe they can get him away
from some of the double teams and the you, know,
hunt those favorable matchups on the. Inside but he's going
to be the guy. Now Jalen carter was that guy In.
Philly you, know this is one of the things we
talked about when they signed him as a free agent
THAT i was a little bit SMALL soe concerned about
was he's never really been a full time. Player he's
never really been the, Guy so this is going to

be a step up for him in terms of all
those types of.
