to get discoosed from that. But but I'm not trying
to be all on the road, drive forty five.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Minute to be here.

Speaker 7 (01:09):
That's what see, that's what happens when you stay in
the good neighborhood. So when you stay in the bad neighborhoods,
your your journey's a little shorter. I've been up since
four thirty. What's the lunchtime right now. I was at
work at five, So you're you're a five am club
absolutely or three am club depending where I'm bad NFL network,
that's right, that's right.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
It was the NFL network. So what's the call time there
for you?

Speaker 7 (01:30):
We have a prep production meeting at three thirty every morning.

A different It is a locker room.

Speaker 7 (02:18):
You know, you're finding things like it's like walking into
a barbershop. You just gotta just gotta dive in. No
tree songs. Yeah, I appreciate the purple and gold man.
I appreciate you know, I love the dogs man, but
you purple and gold dolls a little no different.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
But Isaiah University Washington quarterback. There one of the most
beautiful campuses ever.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Have you been up there to Seattle? Know what you
waiting on?

Speaker 8 (02:49):
I don't know.

Speaker 9 (02:50):
Go in July went on them to send my son
young go for sure, I'm sure a.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Phone call for Isaiah.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
Stand back a long way.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Here's a young man. I've thrown two. Here's a young man,
and I think you need to look at it out here.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Who fit nice in the big ten here?

Speaker 7 (03:12):
Junior good coaches up. They just need some money and
there's no reason why they shouldn't have.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
Any money, that's gonna say.

Speaker 8 (03:18):
That's surprising to me that it's that that would be
an issue with you guys in IL wise. But you
guys have obviously in the last couple of years crushed
it when it came down to recruit and getting guys
keeping guys.

Speaker 7 (03:29):
That's before NIL really became a big thing.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
Though.

Speaker 7 (03:32):
Like that, when we were crushing it, NIL wasn't a
real thing. And that's one of the reasons why, you know,
we lost our a d a while back because the
university didn't at the higher.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Level, the university didn't want to be known for football.

Speaker 8 (03:44):
What yeah, the university, I'm sorry, y'all have any choice
of International Educational Championship Education Pack twelve.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
And they're not alone. We got cows like that stand for.
I mean, there's a lot of folks in that league happened.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
With it, like we're here.

Speaker 7 (03:58):
Yeah, that's so when the ball says okay, football school,
that's that's nice. But we're academic school. We got the
Bill Gates, you know, building, and we got all It's.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
About the business.

Speaker 7 (04:08):
It's about all the it's about the Boeings, the Microsoft's,
the Expedia, the Googles and all that is up there.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
All that well, I mean there look, man, as the
as the college playoffs start, and there are some schools
in the playoffs that you you could say.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
But the n I L is sweet.

Speaker 8 (04:27):
What was absolutely they replenished with with what they lost.
They were able to bring back a ton of guys
they have, I mean, and especially when they do the
rosters like fire, it's level yeah. Now completely different, now
completely I mean, let me tell you they gave us here.

(04:48):
I used my whole scholarship check. You remember the pale
grind on my apartment? Hey, you remember the pale grant?

Speaker 4 (04:53):
I remember it. I didn't have one. You didn't have no, No,
that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (04:57):
Even scholarship athletes, you could get a pel grand, you know.
And that was that little bit of brand you got
on the side. I had a little stipend.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
Listen, My my rent was nine nine eighty. My rent
was my scholarship check was nine seventy six made.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
He was bolling, He was bollid. What you do with that? Was?

Speaker 10 (05:17):
It was?

Speaker 6 (05:18):
It whole four dollars?

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Brother, It wasn't nothing. No, I lived in the negatives.
What you do with that money? Come on, man, peanut
butter and jelly. Gotta get you a little tortilla. Put
a little peanut butter on there, a little honey.

Speaker 8 (05:33):
Tortilla, old tortilla, peanut butter.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
He grew up with the good stuff.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Speaking of Washington, last year your boys played in National championship.
They were I was there, unfortunately ended up losing to
a a very good Michigan team. Michael Pennix Junior didn't
have his best game, but became the number one draft
pick for the Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
He's going to start this week. What insights can you
give me in that? What was your relationship like with him?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
And how do you think he'll do with his opportunity
in Atlanta's they're trying to save the season, see if
they can win the Vision.

Speaker 7 (06:09):
So we talked about this actually on JIMFB a couple weeks,
well about three weeks ago. I did not have a
relationship with Penix. I obviously supported him from Afar. I
met him one time as a brotherhood and not only
just the quarterbacks at the University of Washington, right, it's
a very tight knit group, but also very even smaller
tight ening group in terms of African American quarterbacks that's

(06:30):
been at the University of Washington. I watched that game
last year at the National Championship with the first African
American quarterback at the University of Washington by somebody by
the name of warm There's some dude who was the
second African American quarterback in the University of Washington by
the name of Isaiah Standback. That's what I was there
and we were watching he. I think Michael Pennix is
the fourth because we had Price, Keith Price in there before.

(06:52):
So Michael Penis is the fourth ever in history. And
we sat there and watched him and the word, right,
the insight that I have in regards to Michael Penicks.
After he got drafted and there was all the speculation,
oh that was silly.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Picked.

Speaker 7 (07:06):
He went to training camp in bald He went to
training camp and did his thing down there in Atlanta
so much so right, And for those that don't know
the controversy, they gave Kirk Cusins a four year, one
hundred and one hundred eighty million dollars, so one hundred
eighty million dollars deal, and then they drafted Michael Pennicks
and number eight overall the same year. A matter of months.

(07:27):
They said he did so well training camp that the
coach of the word coming out of their coaches said
that he can't touch the field because if he touches
the field, it's over for Kirk Cousins's That was the word.
This is before all this, you know, the Kirk Cousins,
the fall of Kirk Cousins over the past month. Right,
the word was coming into the regular season, we can't
let him touch the field, we can't put him in

(07:48):
no rotation. We can't put him in no packages because
if the city of Atlanta sees him play, they're going
to embrace him so much that Kirk would never touch
the field again.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
They're gonna snatch Kirk chain me.

Speaker 7 (07:59):
No Kurk go change.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
So that that was the word.

Speaker 7 (08:02):
I mean, name the last time you had a backup
quarterback that doesn't play in preseason?

Speaker 6 (08:08):
Yeah, no, that's pretty difficult, yea.

Speaker 7 (08:11):
That they were trying to protect Kirk Cousins for as
long as the first round or first round or backup.

Speaker 8 (08:15):
Hey, well, you got to protect them when you're give
him the bag like that. You already know perceptionally when
you when you offer up that kind of money and
then the guy doesn't live up to the back that
you've given him. What is that? What is that fan
base gonna do, especially especially down there? It's yeah, especially
especially if we have something where we have proof that
this guy can actually play.

Speaker 7 (08:36):
Why the hell are we playing this guy the last time?
And I mean call it what it is, right people.
I mean, I'm not pulling the race card. It just
is what it is.

Speaker 6 (08:42):
Right.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
Culturally in Atlanta is different than it is in other cities.
When you have an African American quarterback who has the
ability to run and throw.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Was the last time they had that in Atlanta?

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Mike Vick.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Mike Vick.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
Stop right.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
So that city that it's used.

Speaker 7 (09:01):
To that style of quarterback, that city is used to
that type of culture at that position in the electricity
and that vibe. I mean, you look at the look
in the crowd, looking the crowd and how they're rocking
in that building and during the game, it's different, right.
So I'm looking forward to seeing him go out there
and take care of business. I'm hoping that he has
some success. Obviously, it's not a sure thing that he's
going to go out there and and light it up.

(09:21):
But the word that I'm getting is that he is
a dog. And you talk about the lack of velocity.
I've been talking a lot about Cooper Russian, the lack
of velocity he's had in his balls this week, the
his throwing ability. Kirk Cousins velocity is falling off the
dog on I don't even know what kind of cliff
that is. And Michael Pennix is a complete opposite.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
So let me ask this question here as a player
and especially as a former quarterback in this league, it's
training camp, and it's clear Pennis is better than Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
How does rackeem Moore since the head coach sell that
in the room.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
And then we watched these last few games with Kirk
the high interception, he's no touch and to lose, how
in the world do you look at him as a
head coach as you're right here and you know, heck,
this time, everybody's playing her. People like, man, am I
here risking it? Or I got a free agent contract
coming up? You have him sitting there right, there's help here,
there's bad. How do you sell that?

Speaker 4 (10:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (10:17):
And to mean, you gave Kirk Cousin the benefit of
the doubt and everybody has everybody in your I think
almost everybody got to speak for myself.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Kirk Cousins, you're gonna come out of this, right, He's
gonna snap back out of this.

Speaker 7 (10:30):
He's gonna go back to Kirk cochains like he's gonna.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
He's going through it right now. Give him a chance
to get out of it.

Speaker 7 (10:36):
Meanwhile, we're watching our playoff hopes go down the drain, right,
So are we here? Because we want to make sure
that he gets his bag and he has his due diligence,
and we're all praise old Kirk, or do we.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Want to make these playoffs?

Speaker 7 (10:47):
Because I thought that I thought the whole purpose of
playing this game was to walk away with some jewelry, right,
walk away with a bag and walk away with some jewelry.
Those are the two reasons why you play the game.
And your chances and all the hard work that you're
talking about from all the players starting to dwindle al
Way as his playoff hopes started going, because these guys
are losing and when you have one touchdown in nine
interceptions over span of four games, that's not helping your

(11:08):
team win. So, regardless of your feelings, Kirk, I'm sorry,
we got this young gun that we did not want
to play. Our game plan was to draft this kid
and have him sit behind you like Jordan Love in
Green Bay for two years, sit here for two maybe
even three, Kirk, if you're bawling right, that was their
game plan. This is the last thing that Atlanta wanted

(11:29):
to do. But in order to have a shot at
the playoffs, they had to pull the trigger. And you're
gonna get a totally different vibe. I'm hoping that he's
had success again, I keep saying that, But the velocity
is going to be different.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Your ability to stretch the field is going to be
completely different.

Speaker 7 (11:41):
Your ability to use Drake London and all your weapons
that you have, those Kyle Pitts, all the young talent
you have out there, that's going to open it up
for some running back named John Robinson. Everything opens up
now because of the threat of his throwing. Now, the
thing that's going to be different is going to be
the way the boss spins. That's the people not talking
about us left handed. Yeah, that's gonna be a little

(12:02):
bit of a change up in an adjustment period for
the receiving for the receiving portion of it.

Speaker 8 (12:07):
I think the parallel between what you guys are talking
about and just look, just thinking about the Cowboys and this.
For Rahie Morris, he's probably like going to the ownership like, look, look, guys,
I mean I appreciate it. I know one a few,
but I don't. My day is a numbered all right.
I'm gonna get fired from this job. That's that's how
all of it ends, right, But I can't keep excusing

(12:28):
this for my guys in the locker room that see
Mike sitting here, Mike is sitting here, and they already falling, falling.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
In practice and they see it, and you got the
NFL players.

Speaker 8 (12:37):
It's one of the things you can't fool a locker
room full of grown men because y'all going to Nick
and Sam, y'all sitting there like, huh man, you know
we missing out. We gotta got out of here and
actually get it done. And I'm just glad that they
made the change. I mean, an organization, an organization that
sees what's going on and not waiting on Kirk Cousins
to you know, turn back the clock to turn into
who he was. And we have to get some grace
for Kirk Cousin as well, because he's an older quarterback

(12:58):
coming back from an achille his injury also, and I
just don't think that he himself has been the same
since that injury.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
It's the reason I don't give him any grace at all.
We've known who he is for sure, the Minnesota But
how smarter that, hey, man, that you know.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
We you have. We finessed the last bag that you're
going to get out, and that's a lot of bags,
thank career.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
So thirty six years old, Achilles injury, Arthur Blank writes
in that huge check. And remember we talked about it
two years ago. Arthur Blak's the same guy to send
out the email and said, hey man, we're not in
on Lamar Jackson. We're not doing any of that. He
has an injury history. We don't want that. We're not guaranted.
We're not doing that Deshaun Watson contract here because receipts.

Speaker 8 (13:43):
You know, Arthur Blake is also the guy that put
himself in the Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Come on, that's that's smooth like that, that's smooth.

Speaker 8 (13:55):
That is Jerry, Jerry, Jerry not thinking of that man's
I think a lot of times on teams, especially when
a guy like Michael Penson, I can't wait to see
what he does because if he comes in and he balls,
there are going to be so many questions about why
they take so long?

Speaker 6 (14:15):
What took you?

Speaker 4 (14:16):
How?

Speaker 8 (14:17):
How did you sit here and allow this to go on?
And you had this guy sitting on the bench. And
that's why some teams were used to when they when
they draft the guy as high as that, they don't
even play any games like you're in.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
This trial by Fire.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Has just changed.

Speaker 7 (14:29):
Yeah, but I'm saying but because of that, they were
trying to take the green Bay approach. They really were
trying to take the green Bay approach. It's like, hey, listen,
you're an older you know, order quarterback coming into the league.
We want you to sit behind a veteran, learn how
this thing works. We want to set you up for
as much success as possible.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
Right.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
We we took.

Speaker 7 (14:46):
All the all the scrutiny by drafting you top top ten,
right and making you sit like we took that scrutiny
because we want to make sure you're set up for success.
That's right, dog, Go on at Kirk. We don't wait
it out. Come on, Kirk, Come on, Kirk, dog. Okay,
we can't wait no longer the playoffs. We gotta win out.

Speaker 6 (15:01):
Now.

Speaker 8 (15:01):
It's your trap. Take over your trap, Kurk cousins. I
saw him doing. Did you see everybody looking around when
he said, what was.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
That Kurk trap? Trap?

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Trap?

Speaker 4 (15:22):
That was so good?

Speaker 6 (15:27):
He's in the Magic City one time.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
They brought some of them wings, brought him some ways
and everything got that lemon pepper season and in there man.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
The next thing you know.

Speaker 10 (15:40):
He.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
That was probably the end of it right there.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
That's the deal. You know about it?

Speaker 5 (15:50):

Speaker 5 (19:12):
Here the Eddie Cool customer, who's the player in your
opinion that has to be a difference maker? Cool under
pressure as the Cowboys try to beat the Buccaneers. And
I'll just go first here, give me Mozzie Smith.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Okay, oh wow, Skip Pete wants to come in here.

Speaker 7 (19:28):
Run the football, Skip Pete, Pertin, Pertin.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
They want to run the football.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
And if you allow Baker Mayfield to have play action passing,
then then this can be a long day. So, uh,
the defensive line has got to get out here and
you know, plug up.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Some holes make life hard.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
So to me, I'm gonna look at Mozzie Smith to
help out OsO Diggi Zoo on this offensive line.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
But Mozzie Smith can can can do his job.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
I think that's to me, that's what I'm looking for,
the Edie Cool customers versus that old line.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Baby, you know what we got some now.

Speaker 8 (20:02):
This is this is a shocking revelation from New Scruggs
today on this one. I'm just telling you this is
this is this is distance traveled here, we got.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
This travel got to stop the run. I mean over here,
the stats right here rushing offense. Yeah, Tampa Bay one
hundred and forty five yards tied for fourth.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (20:22):
Five yard average, five point two yard average.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
What's what's been that? That cowboy blueprint?

Speaker 7 (20:26):
You want to be the run running run it and
guys look his as a late pass it.

Speaker 6 (20:31):
Yeah that too, that too, and if you could do both,
it's all good. Right.

Speaker 8 (20:37):
I watched it, watching plenty of films on Tampa Bay
and in their offense, and it gives me the willies.

Speaker 6 (20:43):
I feel the same way.

Speaker 8 (20:44):
I feel like defensively, for all the good feeling that
you've had about the Zimmer and this is defense. Over
the last couple of weeks, I think it all comes
crashing down that they can't stop this two headed monster
of a running back room. So I switch over to
the other side because sometimes I think the best defense
is a good offense. And I think that you're gonna
have to come up with the plan to keep Baker

(21:06):
Mayfield in that offense chilling, and you know you, I
would say, ric o' daddle, uh, but so inconsistent with
the way that they've been used, so I don't know
if they will, but I'm gonna go back to my
guy for Kittle Kelsey. I called you Jack Ferguson for
Kittle kel combination because I don't want to be wrong
about him.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
I don't want to be wrong about it.

Speaker 7 (21:26):
Is he the best tight end on the field though
coming up?

Speaker 8 (21:28):
Mm hmm yeah, so again I don't want to be
wrong about him.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
I don't want to be wrong. All right, you know
my first like a song right there.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
I was wrong on lifting Bookie.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
I was wrong.

Speaker 6 (21:43):
I was wrong, but I'm not I'm not ready to concede.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
I am okay, my my, my man didn't come through,
so my high help's gone.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
So you still hold.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
The third one.

Speaker 13 (21:58):
It's been a lot might Mike didn't put my man
in the best position.

Speaker 8 (22:02):
He's going to the Pro Bowl. But anyway, man, I
have for weeks, guys, you guys have known that Cede
Lambers all we've had as a as a as a
viable option out there on the field, and you haven't
got any help from anybody else. And it's of late
it's been coming from Rico o' dwell. But in the
passing game, we have to get more and Ferguson has

(22:25):
to be that piece schoolmakers come on when in is
his absence when he was hurt. But I think it's
the yards have to catch uh. For for Jake Ferguson,
you have to see more for him. So he's gonna
be my yetti cool customer. Okay, one player, huh, one player,
one player, Cooper Beb, you can take a group.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
We've take group, taken groups. Before you're gonnay off.

Speaker 7 (22:45):
I'm gonna say a player, and then I'm gonna say
that his his his his playboys that are next to them.
Cooper Beb coming back. I'm assuming he's coming back. He
has a heck of a matchup. Yeah, please tell us
more Vita Vea, not just because I'm partial to the
purple and gold in the University of Washington players. Tampa
Bay loves and he loves Washington players. They have three contributors,

(23:05):
you know, Vita Vea. You got Oden, you got McMillan.
All those guys contribute. All you do, guys, all dogs,
but big Vita Vea. Everything starts and ends with him defensively.
And now I'm gonna say Cooper Bebe. But I'm really
gonna say your three interior offensive linemen, I'm gonna focus
on those guys. Okay, So thats the Tyler Smith, that's TJ.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Bass Or or Hoffing.

Speaker 7 (23:26):
Whatever they end up doing there in terms of moving
Hoffing from center to guard. I don't know what their
plan is, but those three interior linemen, Okay. The reason
why I'm gonna say all three of those guys is
because if you cannot get Vita Vea off the point,
then you have zero chance of getting up to the
second level where they have some dogs at linebacker. Yeah,

(23:48):
so if you can't get that three hundred and fifty
pounds monster moved one direction or another, even if he
gets past the line of scrimmage, even if you can
run him by, that's a win because when you watch
me he turn on the film, he's gonna be three
yards in the back.

Speaker 6 (24:00):
Then every time if.

Speaker 7 (24:01):
You decide to try to block him with one person,
the problem that they present is if you try to
block him with one person, you're gonna get beat. I'm sorry,
Cooper Bbe. The percentages are just not in your favor.
You might win some, but you just lost one lord.
But if you try to double team him, now you're
freeing up their linebackers to roam free. And if you

(24:24):
forget who their linebackers are, they have somebody by the
name of Levante David.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
He's kind of a dude on the outside.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
Okay, if they run a three four with the stand
up ends, they like to walk guys up play six
man front a lot of times. They have Logan Halle
kind of a dude, kind of a dude. And then
they have a young cat by the name of ya
ya ya ya Yaba Yabi right, Dyabi, yeah, Yabi. He's nice,
big fella two six seven, two sixty nasty. So your

(24:55):
your office a linement have You have to be able
to hike the ball in drive viavey back somehow, some way,
even if it's a stalemate, that's a win, and get
up on those linebackers. Because they have those stand up ends,
it's gonna be very hard to get to break that
containment and get big runs. So you got to be
able to go straight ahead. Going straight ahead, you're going
into a monster, So you got to be able to

(25:15):
move them.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
Okay, that's our Yetti, cool customer, Thank you Isaiah, thank you, Heckman.
We've got Cooper Rush and you raised this up heck
that he has to be clutch in order to get
a win.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Isaiah, you mentioned talking about the velocity of some of
the footballs from Cooper Rush.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
The last three games they played the Giants, bad defense, Cincinnati,
bad defense. You play Carolina, Carolina's three to one football team,
not a great defense. Now you're facing Tampa Bay. You've
got Todd Bowles, the head coach who's been a super
Bowl winning coordinator in this league, been a Super Bowl
winning player as a defender in this league.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
You used to coach here, used to coach here.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
Uh, it's going to be a tougher challenge for Cooper
Rush here on Sunday night. But here's what's interesting. Cooper
has won on Sunday night before. Dude, if he joked,
I said, yeah, joke. My brother's like most of my
starts have happened in prime time Thanksgiving Day games, Sunday nights.
You know, Cooper not playing these these.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
One o'clock games here, man, Cooper's out here.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
He had to you know the number one, you know,
the number one cruise and getting Cooper Rush.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
You know what's Snipe's agent.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
World getting to watch watch watch Cooper Rush, So.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
What does he what? You know?

Speaker 7 (26:38):
This is a task, man, This is a task this week, guys,
Cooper Rush has to get back. You're not going to
fix velocity. You're just not going to fix velocity. But
I'm not sure that velocity was ever in his favor.
What wasn't his favorite when he was having success at
the quarterback position was timing in ball location. And I
feel as if as of late, he has not been

(26:59):
releasing the ball on time and the location has not
been good at all. So if you don't have velocity,
you have to have timing and you have to have location,
and he is missing those all three elements right now
and that does not bode well for a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Now.

Speaker 7 (27:13):
He made a couple throws outside of pocket on broken
plays last week, but the players that were drawn up,
they just weren't good. And what I expressed yesterday, I
believe on our show was the frustration from the players
that are around him.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
And when you have.

Speaker 7 (27:31):
High achieving players that are dependent on you to give
them their opportunities, their effort can go can become Nolan
void when you're not doing your job properly. And when
my effort becomes Nolan void, I have less incentive to
go out there and give you one hundred percent of
my effort, and I get more and more frustrated with

(27:53):
your inability to allow for me to do my job.

Speaker 8 (27:56):
Now, that's man as a formal and as a former quarterback,
what you point to as far as the improvadentizational part
of what Cooper's game, Yeah, you're having success there, but
you're not having success on what we draw up. And
as a as a wide receiver as well, you know
when you hey five steps that ball is coming. You
know you're expecting for your effort to be rewarded with
the ball being on time. When we saw last couple

(28:19):
of weeks ago when Joe Burrow was here, there are
times when Joe Burrow's out there throwing the ball and
I'm like, who in the hell is he throwing to?
Because he's throwing the ball before the guy even comes
out of his break. And those are the things about
the nuances to quarterback that you go, damn, he threw
into an area nobody was there.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
How did he see that?

Speaker 8 (28:37):
It's just timing, repetition, confidence that you can actually get
the ball there. And that's what I think that that's
why you look at Ceedee Lamb in the year that
he's having. If he finishes with a thousand yards, do
come on now, it's going to be crazy because he's
playing with a quarterback that literally has no timing with him.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
This touchdown last week was a bathrow.

Speaker 6 (28:56):
Yeah but it was.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
But he see he made a heck of a play.

Speaker 6 (28:59):
But it's a bathrow back of the end zone. He
just running to a spot.

Speaker 10 (29:03):
Again.

Speaker 8 (29:03):
It's just it's things like that's when. And that's why
I pose the question because he has I said, Cooper,
Cooper has to be clutched. And even as I was
typing and I'm like this, don't even this stunt. Even
I can't even finish this sentence. Because what we need
him to be in a game like this, with a
defense like this that's going to present so many problems.

Speaker 6 (29:23):
He's gonna have to be on time with the ball.
And what has he been.

Speaker 8 (29:26):
He's been late, He's been throwing behind guys, and that's
what's gotten him in trouble. That's what got that's what's
gotten other guys in trouble. And as we point to
guys like Tolbird and all those other players that we're saying, hey,
you're not giving us anything.

Speaker 6 (29:37):
Well, how many of those throws are behind the guy?
Or how you know?

Speaker 8 (29:41):
How is the play design is? Is Cooper Russ actually
attacking the defense?

Speaker 4 (29:45):
Let's go a little deeper here. Tampa Bay favored by forty.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
If this game gets away, he said, I think forty.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
I'm like, damn, let's just leave.

Speaker 5 (29:59):
We have seen the games this year that have felt
like they're by flax. If it gets away, is Trey
Lance an option? Did do they go and say Trey
go get in here?

Speaker 7 (30:12):
I feel like they should have done that week's ago
at least give him some packages.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
That's just me personally.

Speaker 7 (30:17):
You're in a situation where both both of your available quarterbacks,
right outside of Da Ducci, both of your quarterbacks are
on one year deals. This their last year. We're well
greer sorry, I said, I'm sorry, We'll gar we had
all those guys in here.

Speaker 6 (30:33):
Went wrong?

Speaker 7 (30:35):
Yeah, so those guys around there last year the contract.
So my under my comprehension was get Trey in there.
Because you've seen what you're going to get out of
Cooper Rush. You've seen the last few weeks has given you,
has given you all the affirmation and confirmation that you
need to say, all right, we know who he is
and we know what he's capable of, and we're not
going to get anything more. And what are we going

(30:56):
to lose? You already lost the playoffs. Playoffs are gone.
I don't care what percentage of say playoffs are done
and you'll have a you'll know by the end of
his game. Before the game, what risk are you running
outside of your ability to resign him at a lower
price by putting Trey Lance in the game. I believe
that the only reason why he has not been put

(31:18):
in the game is because they have all the leverage
right now to resign him for pennies on the dollar.
He hasn't shown anything, so he can't warrant any money.
He can't demand any money any high state dollars as
a backup quarterback. So by not playing him, you get
him for the lo lo. Now, if he goes out
there and balls out whatever I mean, everybody has their

(31:40):
opins on whether that would happen or not. He goes
out there and balled out, prices went up. So what
advantage do it do you get from the Cowboys if
you're not making the playoffs? Outside of finding out. Hey, okay,
he's a better player than he is a practicer. I
don't really know, right, I called all the preseason games
I've seen when he was what his struggles were then
that was a long time ago.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
That that's rich.

Speaker 8 (32:01):
And let's go to the opposite of what's happening in
Atlanta right where you have a guy like Pinis, you
better shov him because hey, if these guys get a
chance to see him, they're gonna want him. Maybe he's
gonna be to a torch pick picks it in fire
sticks at the at.

Speaker 7 (32:16):
The wall, right, ninety million dollars for fourteen games for
cirk Custers.

Speaker 8 (32:19):
Boom, my man, So you're gonna have a problem. You're
gonna have a problem from your fan base with that.
I think it's the complete opposite here when I when
I look at what Trey has, his inability after Dak's injury,
I think they haven't seen it. I think they know
from a just read and react standpoint, if we think
he's late, if we think Cooper Rush is late and

(32:41):
behind on throws, what would we be getting would essentially
the same or or maybe not even any effort to
even he doesn't see it maybe he's not even seeing
the field because of the pressure and all of the
things that Cooper Rush has been able to, like, he's
just been taking sacks.

Speaker 6 (32:55):
Basically, Look, my thing is this.

Speaker 8 (32:57):
After this, this this game, if you are mathematic eliminated
and both of them, yeah.

Speaker 6 (33:06):
You know.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
So I'll just pick one poison over the other and say,
these last two games, trail, let's see what you got.
Because obviously not having a fourth round pick this year,
it's going to impact you. If it impacted you last year,
look at the guy that win the fourth round last
year that you could have been able to pick up.

Speaker 6 (33:20):
I think San Francisco was able to pick up a
running back.

Speaker 8 (33:24):
The team the Bucks were able to pick up a
guy also that Yeah right, you know these are running back.
These are guys that you possibly could have used. I
think if you use this guy, you're only pushing him
up so that you can use him as bait, be
able to get something for him in return.

Speaker 6 (33:41):
That's my only thing with him.

Speaker 7 (33:42):
I understood why they weren't playing him. I do understand
why they weren't playing him early on, But since what
you've seen from Cooper Rush over these past two three games,
I think they have the same issues. Cooper Rush had
the advantage of an understanding the system. He had the
advantage of I have a history of throwing the ball
on time and getting the ball in the playmaker's hands
so that they can do what they do. Those things

(34:04):
are gone. So now, okay, now that you guys now
share the same visibility, I might as well see what
you can do because you possess a better running ability.

Speaker 14 (34:15):
Just think about what whether Mike is here next year
or not, you need to have some tape somebody can
look and say, what do we do with the quarterback here?

Speaker 4 (34:26):
Correct? With this quarterback? And they have They've made an
investment in so anyway.

Speaker 7 (34:30):
You're talking about from the executive side, they need to
be taking a look.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
I think you have to. You know what Cooper is.
You do not know what Trey Lamps is right now.

Speaker 5 (34:40):
They may know from a practice standpoint the preseason back
in August, but you.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Just talked about it. Is he more of a gamer?
Has he improved? Is there any hope?

Speaker 5 (34:49):
And if there's not, move on, but at least put
something on tape. But hey, that's just me. I'm not
I'm you know, sure.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
What do I know?

Speaker 6 (34:56):
Why take over your trip. Let's go.

Speaker 7 (38:03):
They living a life, man, Man, I got to ask
some more podcasts in my schedule so I can take
me some trips. You know.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
Tea what tea it teas? What's to tease?

Speaker 5 (38:12):
Michael Parson said he doesn't need to be the highest
paid defensive player in the league.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
You know, what's a bit difference between thirty forty million.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
And I just keep hearing the line from Jerry Jones
where he once said, just because I said it doesn't
make it so. Dak Prescott said he didn't have to
be the highest paid guy.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
Then all of a sudden, Dak Prescott made sure he
threw in there.

Speaker 5 (38:36):
You know, I do have obligation to other players in
the league, of course, So Isaiah, you're you're you're a player.
You know, Michaeah, when you hear these comments, give me
the player's perspective.

Speaker 4 (38:50):
When you hear a man stand.

Speaker 7 (38:51):
Up and say that to me, I hear him trying
to say the right things All year long. Mike has
been trying to be a leader. He's been trying to
be a leader. He made that statement early, I have
to step forward. I have to step up in regards
of leadership, right. And I think that was the one
box that hadn't been checked for him yet. I think
that was probably told to him by by some elders

(39:12):
or somewhere, I don't know. Somewhere along the line, somebody
was like, hey, you if you want to get that
big bag, you need to step into the leadership, bro.

Speaker 4 (39:18):
And he's checked himself a number of times.

Speaker 7 (39:20):
Right, He's had some bad body language, He's done some
things this year, and he corrected that. I think this
is in that same boat where hey say the things
that are that are going to be favorable for your team,
instead of coming out there and saying what's really what's
all your heart and saying I need the bag and
I'm going to get the bag. Let's call it what
it is. You spend your whole life as an athlete,

(39:41):
especially just as a football player, trying to get to
this level. You once you get there, your job is
to win as many games you can hopefully walk away
with some jewelry and walk away with the biggest bag
that you can unless your name is Thomas Brady, where
you give to the team right for the greater good
of the team, so that you're getting sure that you
get the rings. I think Michael was trying to embody

(40:01):
in channel his inner Tom Brady. But this team is
not there, right, They're not where Tom was when he
started making those financial decisions.

Speaker 6 (40:11):
Yeah, one thing.

Speaker 8 (40:12):
I know about the NFL stands for not for long.
And a guy that's putting his body on the line
the way that he is, He's not one of those
protected positions. He's not going to be able to play
quarterback for fifteen twenty years. Like the name you just
talked about. He's going to be a guy that needs
to look out for his own interest because he's going
to have three hundred pounders rolling around at his knees
and ankles for the rest of his NFL career. And

(40:36):
I think for him, as good as that sounds in theory,
he has it's his responsibility to be the highest paid
defensive player.

Speaker 5 (40:47):
So at the end of the day, and we've seen
this with numerous players, does Mike ha set the market?

Speaker 4 (40:53):
Yes? Yes, set the market? Yes?

Speaker 6 (40:56):
Absolutely?

Speaker 4 (40:58):
Is he here to set them market? Yes?

Speaker 5 (41:01):
Jerry Jones is Okay, it's really simple. You name me
the player, a blue chip player that Jerry's wanted to
walk away.

Speaker 7 (41:09):
I feel you he doesn't do it, he's incapable of doing.
So what's your team looked like then, with the three
of the highest paid players in the position, remember the.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
Lakers, Shaq and Kobe Yeah, super friend, Yeah, I mean
that's reality. A Robert the way you go stand there because.

Speaker 7 (41:25):
You don't you don't let Michael go into his last
year without a contract just for the respect factor. Now,
this team has pushed the envelope in regards to other positions, right,
they did it.

Speaker 4 (41:35):
They did it with Zach Martin.

Speaker 6 (41:35):
They did but that twice.

Speaker 7 (41:39):
I don't think that you want to play that game
with with Micah. Just don't get the vibes that that's
something that you.

Speaker 6 (41:45):
Want to do.

Speaker 7 (41:45):
I don't know that he would understand as as well
as those other kids.

Speaker 6 (42:00):
It's gonna be a stand up burial training.

Speaker 4 (42:04):
All right, let's make you let's let's make these picks.

Speaker 5 (42:09):
Last night in the UH in the Thursday night game, heckma,
you had the Chargers winning twenty three seventeen, Churches winning
Berry Church had the Chargers winning twenty one seventeen Chargers,
when I had the Charges winning twenty six twenty four.

Speaker 4 (42:24):
So all right, this is now we got to start
to get to the nitty gritty.

Speaker 8 (42:27):
You got to put the Montree in that. So what
de Montree say? De Montree had the had Denver.

Speaker 17 (42:34):
Yeah, Jesse Holly had Denver as well.

Speaker 4 (42:36):
I mean yeah, Jesse had to.

Speaker 6 (42:38):
De Montre in on this.

Speaker 4 (42:39):
Now, Ken, what do you expect the Capital, Oregon versus Oregon.

Speaker 6 (42:43):
Not here to defend itself, none to defend right. Wrong
is wrong. I love it. This is what's wrong?

Speaker 4 (42:51):
All right, Chris Ban what you got wrong?

Speaker 6 (42:54):
Alright?

Speaker 18 (42:54):
First game is gonna Oh, this is gonna be a banger.
I've got Houston at Kansas City. I looked up at
the I thought this was a missed print. Has Houston
favored by three and a half.

Speaker 8 (43:05):
Yeah, it some mistake. I'm gonna go with Kansas City.
I think they may have. They're talking a lot of
stuff to Mahmie man, so I'm I think Patrick Mahomes
puts the Cape one again. I'm going KC. I'm going
to go twenty eight fourteen.

Speaker 13 (43:23):
