Speaker 2 (03:47):
Listen, take you.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
Get your pop listen ready, d is here with a
message which the breaks crushed out on her.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
He only scratch out his stuff. You've seen that. Yeah,
that's always shout? Is his what what you man?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
That? Me and Church have been texting? Okay, of course
every year who's better Justin Herbert or Joe Burrow. It's
been going on for years.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
That's yes, it is, it is, it is. It is
for who go ahead? Go ahead finishing? What're you about
to say?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Man? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
They come up in here. This is what I know.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Okay, Church, the other night you said, hey, man, if
Justin Herbert goes on the playoff run to the playoff run,
then it makes him have a better season than than
Joe Burrow if he had went on the playoff roun.
Now two days later, I was the fifth we saw.
We saw justin Herbert go out there and he threw
four interceptions. What do you say, four of them in

(04:50):
the middle of that game. Yeah, because I was thinking
and I didn't I didn't hate you on the group
checks or anything like that. But you know, you know
it got to a point because we all know how
low to the soul you are with Herbert. Did you
ever say at one point in that game, like, oh man,
this is garbage pale?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now he was trash. It was hot trash.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
You know.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I one thing about.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Myself, all right, y'all know y'all been on the show,
you knew. But I call it like I see it.
I call it like I see it. When when Dak
was out there tarsit, I caught it trash all right.
When McCarthy was getting the most out of his team
even though they was losing, I switched it up and
I said, hey, Mancarthy should be back here. You know,
even though I was on you earlier, said can be

(05:34):
back here? And what I saw on what day was
that Saturday Sun whatever game? It was, Yeah, forget the boy,
look hot trash. I'd be I can't.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
He ain't.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
I can't defend it. Man.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
My man went out there, laid a disappointing egg, and
I ain't got nobody else to blame. Fourteen of thirty two,
y'all was bad. Fourteen or thirty two, four interceptions and
he picks one. He had one touchdown for four interceptions,
and the one tub was an amazing play by Dawn.
But conclely guy, it was.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
It was bad. It was bad.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
It was it was.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
It was trash because I ain't gonna put it on
the coordinators like some people.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
So like you said, you ain't gonna put it on
the coordinators, but you said that the one touchdown that
he did have that they iry not heeded but the
team had was on somebody else.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
So technically you're saying that he was this guy. Your
guy didn't even he's not.

Speaker 6 (06:26):
The reason he's not even the assistancally is to say, hey,
let me help you get in there, let me make
you better.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
So he doesn't have a touchdown to his name. Was Okay,
I just want to put that out.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
But my bigger issue is that even before that game,
I believe that Joe Burrow was the better quarterback he
has the facts. He Church said, no, yeah, he said,
you said the careers are pretty much identical. They are,
all right, So this is what we'll be doing now.

(06:58):
So we're saying statistically, are we saying team wise?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Ah?

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Wow, everything, That's what I'm saying. No, because like, statistically,
the man years a great I'm talking about Burrow. We
didn't even make the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (07:18):
They didn't make the playoffs. But it's a team sport.
If you're still putting up these numbers like okay, okay, so.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Y'all want to go to team no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, okay,
I'm not gonna go.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
I'm not gonna go the whole team route.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
But I'm gonna say, when it comes to this game
in football, this ain't this ain't tracked, This ain't golf.
This ain't something where it's like, oh, completely solely this
is on you. Like you can go out there and
all the stars can line. Obviously, you can have an
iconic gear statistically, but if your defense is not doing
that for whatever reason, it ain't going you gotta take

(07:49):
all that into consideration. You're gonna sit here and tell
me that there are certain guys like damn Marino, guys
like that that put up these astronomical numbers and never
won the Big Dance.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
And that's that's accolade within itself.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
So yes, when you want to say overall, comparing the
whole body of worker Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow, yes,
you do go with the stats.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
But then after you go with the stats, what does
it go from there? Wins?

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Can I go from the wins? Can I just give
the SATs then, so we have context on stats.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Joe Burrow.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Four thousand, nine hundred and eighteen yards, forty three tds
and nine interceptions. Get over to your guy, Justin Herbert
three thousand, three thousand, eight hundred and seventy yards twenty three.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Two thousand list yards.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
And to your point when we talk about team versus stats,
you can even go back and look at the Super
Bowl that he played in. Yes, outside of their offensive
line letting Aaron Donald come in there for that interception,
that ball was going to Jamar Chase wide open for
a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
That ain't Joe like. It's a team. So when you're
looking at hey, man, whose fault is this?

Speaker 6 (08:59):
It ain't looking And that's what saying the most text
to this, could we add context to context police?

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Who is Joe Burrow throwing the football to? Would you
consider t Higgins a top ten receiver in the National
Football League?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Now? Now Jessecki, Hey, would you say he's a nice
tight end?

Speaker 5 (09:20):
Yeah, he's going with this, keep going.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Who is Herbert throwing the football to? Who was he going?

Speaker 5 (09:28):
I got I'm eight teammate, I got you? Who is
he doing?

Speaker 6 (09:33):
A guy by the name of Keenan Allen. That was
we're not about talking about who said? He said overall
body of work. He was comparing and original to the
seasons he had. Okay, so hold on, are we this
just this one season? What are we doing the overall
body of don know? He said both.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
I thought you so when you first came in, you
said overall we are?

Speaker 4 (09:58):
But then I said he was saying even this year
that justin Herbert had been a better quarterback than Joe
Burrow in this season.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
But then also.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Did not say Joe Burrow when he's on the phone,
I said, Joe Burrow had a better statistical year. Yes,
season wise, you gotta say Herbert had it, but because
he went to the playoffs, that that is that not
what I said, yeah, is that not what I said?

Speaker 5 (10:22):
But I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
So have you changed your mind between the argument between
Burrow and Herbert and that we had this coma.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Didn't I say?

Speaker 4 (10:37):
The difference is Burrow got the it factor whatever that is,
whatever that is, he has it and Herbert does not
have that in factor as of yet?

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Did I say that last year? Can he get it?

Speaker 5 (10:48):
He can?

Speaker 4 (10:49):
I mean can get he can get it? About to
run it out of town? Your boy killing was there
when you was like killing is the guy.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
Whit? I was white?

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Trigger him.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
We're gonna wait till he gets back.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Yeah, we're gonna wait till he gets you. Killing was
with him? Get him right, couldn't get him back, couldn't
get it. We watched that was quarter. That was the fire.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
No, no, no, in the fourth quarter. We text every week.
It was Herbert got the ball in his hands? Is
his sense to go down? And more than that, he
didn't get it. He didn't get it.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
And I'm like, yeah, that was different. Even Keller couldn't.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
But you don't think that he was in a better situation.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
Well, once again, once again, because I want to be correct,
are we talking about this year right now?

Speaker 5 (11:41):
We're gonna talk overall, like what are you?

Speaker 2 (11:43):
What are we?

Speaker 5 (11:44):
What are we sticking to right now?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Talking about last week when he had he had killing
last year because.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
When you look at we're looking at the whole when
they okay, so thirty stats are basically the same they
got like one hundred and forty, you said.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
And you said, look at who is Joe Burrows throwing
to with those? If you look at overall, who did
Herbert had when he first came into the league.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
Had a three? He had? Yes, he had? Are we
saying like all right, Mike keenan, uh, what's the running back?

Speaker 6 (12:15):
Go on?

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Hold on, hold on, hold on, I'm not done yet.
I'm not done yet.

Speaker 6 (12:19):
And then on top of that, not even just with
the weapons, it might not be up there like oh
if I had to say, who's better the Bengals over
the Chargers? But where it comes out and it starts
to even out, and what I say that justin Herbert
is in a better position than what Burrow was. Like
Burrow pulled the Jesus effect. He was able to turn
water into wine. Herbert has had an offensive line. He

(12:43):
is nowhere near had the like he is he hasn't
been pressured as much as Joe Burrow.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
Joe Burrow has been back. There was yeah, this game,
it's time, I said overall for his whole, overall body of.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Water to wine.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
So we so, what's Chase?

Speaker 2 (13:01):
What's Higgins? If you're getting hit in the mouth Borrow?
Without elite talent on the outside.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
Have we seen Joe Burrow with a complete offensive line?

Speaker 4 (13:12):
No? No. The answer the answer is, have we ever
said he's had the most he's he has the most
talented wide receiver period, that's not even.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Our Yes, Joe Burrows have elite players on the out side.
Who was an Ohio State and you couldn't crack the lineup?
L s U first year did he have the stop going?
How many years did Joe Joe Burrow playing L? Two years?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Who was they were all on the team and he
played all those same guys? Year he had What happened
the next year? The last year he was an L
they got here. The next year they got Joe Brady
from from New Orleans Saints, who's balling up there in Buffalo,
and they said, you know what, we're gonna figure out
how to make it. We're gonna make you figure outw
to make you a really good quarterback? Right, and he
had the options, right, and he went crazy. They had

(14:03):
those options year.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
But when he came here rookie year in Cincinnati, and
what was he able to do?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
He get sacked almost everything, didn't too much, right, listen,
but then listen and that's what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Everything.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
Okay, off, you're not going to talk about the office line.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
And asked this question.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
I want one lesson how many yards did Conkly have?
Because you be you be on the dude like he
just straight up garbage. The dude was still putting up
some numbers, okay compared to others. Come on, bro, you
the dudes and he's playing and he playing ball. He
ain't Jamar Chase, He ain't even in.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
The same stratas here as jam none of those.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Laugh. No, no, I'm not. No, he's good.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Whatever happens. I don't care who you don't have on
your squad. Four interceptions in the game.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
He was for you in there.

Speaker 5 (14:59):
You can you through.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Fortunately, we've seen justin Herbert Foe in the big time moments.
No matter who we had that receiver, no matter who
he's had their running back.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Office cording to our head coach is my point of like,
this is why if i'm if I got a squad,
and I believe you would too, I'm you're picking Joe
Burrow over Justin Herbert to be to be your starting.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Quarterback, to be the starting quarterback if you had all
the weapons on it yet, No, just period?

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Can't you starting with I can't say that because I
am without in the conversation. Are you so t Higgins
is out?

Speaker 4 (15:36):
And Hurd he started the season on p U P
If you so? You just at that point, you just
had Jamar Chase winning games. Yeah, he was still playing well,
he was still playing well. Their defense, their defense was horrible.
You're still talking about the winning games. I'm talking about
who's a better quarterback? Who you're gonna take on your squad?
You got right on different on nothing. If you didn't

(15:59):
know it, I got you. I'm trying to say, for
the beginning ahead, I got one thing you got. It's
fourth quarter drive starting at the twenty Borrow eighty yards
to go?

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Which quarterback is Joe's bad ass?

Speaker 4 (16:14):
You gotta win this game? And that's let's say the house.
You got star receivers. Let's say you got star receivers
on the receivers in factory them. I told Burrow that's
for him.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Let's just's say T. T.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Higgins and Jamar Chase are your receivers in that in
that in that moment he said they aren't? They are
are your receivers. I'm taking a quarterback, Joe Burrow, He's
got a connection with him. I'm taking Let's say see
what dk Metcalf are the outside receivers. Who are you
taking as a quarterback? Who's the whole line?

Speaker 2 (16:51):
All right? Who's on what you mean?

Speaker 5 (16:53):
I'm gonna take that. I'm gonna take hold on line.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the quarterback that has
proven that he can throw without an old line. So
guess what if I get an old line, he should
go astronomically up. He should be better. If he's one
of the top guys right now with no office aligneman,
throwing off your back foot, doing this and doing that,
why would you not take him? If you're an executive
you have on your suit right now. It comes down there,

(17:18):
mister Amir Khan talks to you and says, hey, mter Church,
I got you in Orlando Scandrick right here, right now,
I'm trying to pay the bag. Do I want the
guy that's, you know, more decorated, has the accolades to
his name, or do I want the guy that's he's
a Cowboys guy, but he's not the guy around the least.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
No disrespect to Orlando. Orlando has been a talented guy.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
But I'm talking about we all know, let's just let's
let's be real, like both guys are talented within their
own respect. But I'm gonna take Barry Church. If Justin
is Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert are right here, You're
gonna take Joe Burrow, the guy that has the guy
that has won you and daddy, the guy that has
been to the super Bowl, He's been to all the

(18:03):
big dances, at every stage that he has played at.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
Has Justin Herbert? Not yet? Not not yet?

Speaker 6 (18:09):
Well, I'm gonna tell you, like, hold on, hold on,
you can't say you can't, can't you can't or don't
not yet, don't say nothing.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
That's what we're acting. This is just he was hurt.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
I just want you to the game.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
I heard said he's not gonna get that and the
team still I just want. He still went six and
four with Jake Browning. I just I just want you
to courage. Still six and four. Never seen somebody trying
to downplace such a good quarterbacks but just got excuses.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
And the he't got excuse. Did I make to say
the coach?

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Did I make these excuses? Or did I say that
boy laid an egg? He was tracked that game, but
he actually moved. Were talking about the season. We were
just talking about a drive and were talking about a journey.
I just want to do quarterback. And that's what I
didn't care about the wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
I didn't care.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
You could, we could go any team, We could take
him out here, put a guy here whatever, I'm gonna hurt.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Okay, I'm going.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
He's doing that, he's doing I'm gonna saw you hold on,
look at me right now? What am I doing right here?

Speaker 5 (19:18):
Moving? How the church posting the gold post?

Speaker 2 (19:22):
How is it? When we first started, asked me, you said,
over can herd?

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Now you can hear it?

Speaker 2 (19:28):
B B. That's cool. You know what I'm why You know.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
That you go stick to your good no matter all
the way until you grow some hair, which exactly.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Nothing to turn. That's me and my dog going to turkey.
Don't say that, well he's.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
Not going to.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
N't want to to what we're doing that what.

Speaker 5 (19:57):

Fan of the Year at nfl dot com Slash Fan
of the Year.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
All Right, un a man buy Cowboys safety Bury Church.
One of my guys is out man one of them.

Speaker 7 (22:52):
Yeah, Trey Moore, former Cowboy player, heck Maherrison. One year,
I'm newly Scruggs. So that guy we have.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Monday, I'm upset at you. Monday.

Speaker 7 (23:04):
Leslie Fraser is going to come in here as.

Speaker 6 (23:07):
The man.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Still another what he said, hold on killing killing? Is
this the players lounge?

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Can we be real? This is the plass lounge.

Speaker 6 (23:19):
So since this is the lounge, and you know how
it is when coaches get fired and you have new
guys coming in, everybody goes into their respective corner.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
Hey, who you think they're gonna bring it? I would
like this guy. I would like this guy.

Speaker 6 (23:31):
And some organizations are good with holding stuff to the
vest and then some organizations most you kind of know
who are the top two guys and they're guys that
they're just bringing in. Do you think Leslie Fraser is
just the guy that they're bringing in or do you
think that this is just being grilled a running rule effect?

Speaker 5 (23:49):
So's allid question?

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Uh, y'all want to understands.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
You checked?

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Yeah, that's a that's.

Speaker 7 (23:59):
Got to bring it to people according to the NFL.
So Robert supposed to.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Come in this week, what are we doing the stop exactly?
Then you got lets doing?

Speaker 5 (24:13):
He couldn't go back.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
First of all, what you couldn't do was go back to.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
You.

Speaker 6 (24:24):
Let's go yes, So back to what you were saying, Yes,
we have to Uh we have the running rule in effect.
You have and I'm not saying that they are the
running rules because there is rumors out there circulating about
Prime being out there, so that puts through.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
But until he hasn't, until the interview, it doesn't, it
doesn't count exactly.

Speaker 6 (24:41):
So now we have those two guys we have Leslie
and we have Robert Salo after that. In my opinion,
and I could be wrong, but like I said, this
is what we're doing in opinion based business.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
Do you feel that the Cowboys kind of already have
their guy?

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Like when you're bumping out these interviews back to back
like sporadically, how can you let the I guess the
interview moll over? How can you really sit there and say,
let me bask in this and vet out the right
situation When you have those interviews going back to back,
you haven't heard about a second talk and stuff isn't.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
Linking out out there.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
No, I don't think they they.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
Like I don't think nobody has their guys.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
And honestly, if i'm you know the Salah, yes, it
was a check mark.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
But in my opinion, it could be more of a
DC interview, like you know, both guys can come, Yeah,
both of both both guys coming here. We're doing the
head coaching, but you know, we really see you as
being a guy that can come in here and be
a defensive board.

Speaker 6 (25:39):
My personal opinion, I just think it's a scattered thing
right now, because I really do, in my heart of hearts,
like you said, I think they were going to bring
Mike back. Why would you why would you block him
to do an interview with Chicago? And then all of
a sudden, now things fall apart, and now you're bringing
all these guys in. So now I think you're just
pulling people off the coaching tree of what sounds good.
So that's why I'm asking, like, where's the connection, where

(26:00):
there's the familiarity, because typically most of the coaches that
have been hired by the Cowboys have some type of
ties to the organization or somebody within there. So, unless
I'm all informed, does Leslie Fraser or Robert Sler have
deep ties to the Cowboys organization?

Speaker 2 (26:17):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
And I think last year, if I mean five years
from from from now, I mean back, you wouldn't have
thought that Mike McCarthy, Mike McCarthy clearly didn't have any
ties to the Cowboys organization.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
So that a move point.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
I mean, it's one of those things where I just
feel like the negotiations between Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones
broke down at some point and either the month and
I don't and please enlighten me, because I've been waiting
to get to the players Lounge to get the solid
black and white facts of what those numbers, possibly years
of what it could have been. But there was a

(26:53):
disconnect in between what the contract could be, whether it
was two years, whether it was three years, or Mike
was asking for five. There was a deadline, and then
obviously as negotiation goes on, it gets to a point
where it's it's like, we are not gonna get anything done.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
I haven't flushed all of that out, but I will
tell you the bit that I have gotten was there
were a number of people in the building who were
ready to move on from Mike.

Speaker 7 (27:22):
And the last I was told was.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
President, owner and general manager was still in that corner
from Mike McCarthy. And then next day comes and we
hear there's not going to be a deal. I also
think and I don't think people are talking about this.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
Enough, you know.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
I think Mike McCarthy also like, you know, I'm good,
I'm gonna sit around here do this. I'll put myself
out here. And we see he's got an interview already,
got interviewed by the Bears yesterday. The Saints are going
to talk to him. Mike McCarthy is not just some
bum coach, not at all. Twelve right, twelfth all time
and wins. He's won a super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
Now, super bowls matter.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Brother's got prize. We can bring it up now. The
man has some pride. He does.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
And I still go back into this other part where
I've talked to fans and we've said this on the show.
If you're bringing Mike McCarthy back, if it was just
three years, that means that eight years of Mike.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
McCarthy a four year deal, you know, nine.

Speaker 5 (28:31):
Five, that's ten years.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
You did that with Jason Gamm Did you did that?

Speaker 3 (28:35):
I don't think there was an appetite amongst the fan
base for that much of a tenure to have, you know,
basically two presidential administrations with my McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
I don't think that was there.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
But also I know there were enough people in the
building work here who have opinions that let the owner
know they felt that it was time to make a move.
And let's be honest, man, they brought him in here
for five years. You were no further down the road
than you were with Jason Geret. You weren't in terms

(29:06):
of overall of what you wanted half a decade guys,
and I like Mike. I like Mike half a decade.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Man.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
Where are you sitting at the way I look at
it is. I like Mike as a as a coach.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
I love when as a player, when you can see
your team rally around your coaches, when they're avocately speaking
out about, hey we want this guy back.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
We know, like, I can't help but think.

Speaker 6 (29:31):
I'm not saying Mike is a Dan Campbell because I'm
a little biased, but I can't help but think when
I was in Miami that last year, the year was trash,
but we won the last four games, and like to
have that energy where your team is saying, hey, we
want Dan Campbell, and then they didn't make him the
head coach the next year, go on to the Saints,
and it's something left. It's it's a disconnect. And so

(29:54):
as far as to get back to what you were saying,
I we're stacked right now, or when I say we
we're no better than like you said when we had
Jason Geregg now that Mike is there. But it's just
like in the league, some players are good, they're just
not good for that organization.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
And I don't think that Mike. I don't.

Speaker 6 (30:14):
I'm not gonna say he wasn't good, but he wasn't
good for this organization. And you can tell about his
comments when he was getting ready to leave, like he
kind of already alluded, at least in my eyes, to
say when he was like, hey, he's talking to the
DC Zimmerman and saying this is some of the faults
that I had when I came in here. I tried
to make my scheme of justin do that and change
myself to where you can kind of tell like you're unhappy,

(30:35):
but you have to you have to make water. I mean,
you have to turn these grapes into line, like he
may do with the situation.

Speaker 7 (30:41):
So the point, and I think we've talked about this before, was.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
There was such a disappointment after the Green Bay loss
and then Jerry didn't extend him and put all the
coaches on one right.

Speaker 5 (30:55):
That whole year was a whole year of tension.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
The whole year that we looked at, well, if you
don't do this, you know, I'm gonna fire, which is
a bad I think that was a bad way to
do I don't think that was a strategy to do
business and.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
I didn't take any of that of what you were
saying about Mike as a foreshadowing of how he felt
about the position. I believe that Mike was actually tailor
made for a position in which the front office is
going to make decisions for you. He comes from Green Bay,
he wasn't able to do any of those things. I

(31:28):
look at Mike and whether whoever was in the organization
that didn't like Mike. It got to the point where
it was just like, this is as good as this
going to get. And once we see as far as
we're going to go, and I don't think you can
get us over the hump because you've always said he
was bought in to do what get you over the hump.
And regardless of the players, you know, rallying around, not

(31:50):
quitting on them or whatever, this was as good as
it got. It. Maybe you were limited behind the scenes
with some of that. All right, My thinking is going
forward and you guys may be completely different in different
to this. I think the Cowboys need to hire the
next coach needs to coach the coaches.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Let us go to break.

Speaker 7 (32:13):
As I said justin Herbert commercial, playing behind.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Us, my man, my man, to break.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
They want to talk about.

Speaker 3 (32:21):

Barry Church, Tray Moore, Harrison, I'm strugs. This is the
player's lounge, all right. I want to start with you,
mister Church. Sir, you have twenty minutes with the owner, President,
Generalman Jones. You get to say Jerry, this is who
I believe you should hire as the next head coach
of the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Who is Man? Never that I say this, Never that
I say this. I thought it was bullschat. We know,
we know who it is.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
But if you talk about the candidates, shit, goat, you're
talking about the candidates everybody you got there and it's
not official yet because there's.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
No interview anything like that. But there I go prime
on this one.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
I oh, wow, shop stop, Okay, would you asked that
question again? He clearly didn't hear what you just ask him, thought,
what are you talking about? You got you recommend your
guy Man? How many do y'all Are y'all all on
the show with me?

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Right? Yeah, listen to what I'm saying. How many times
did I tell y'all that man does not make a
good head coach? How many times did I say that?

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Sixteenth?

Speaker 2 (36:15):
So, y'allus you on the coordinator. It's the first time
I said this. No, no, I have heard you say it.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
But over the years, you you double down on the
fact that he's this boy genius and he could do
all these things offensively. And if that's the way that knew,
that's the way that the league is going, I would
have assumed you are.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
You got the books and all that.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Every time we tight about Kevin, do I say he's
a I believe he's a great coordinator, right, But when you.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Come to the head coaching, what do I always say?
I'm off the boat.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
I do not.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
I think he's a motivator of man.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
Weeks.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
No, No, that is I I concur he's he likes
the joystick.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
He doesn't want to be like that.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
That's what it is.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
He's a he's a good officer coordinator. But when it
comes to head coach, you got to be more than that.
You got to be a motivator of men.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
You got to be a leader.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
And I said, I don't believe that's what he is.
And I've always said that from the jump. Yes, I'm
sorry I took you off the rails. You're saying prime, because.

Speaker 6 (37:14):
I'll jump in because my answer is going to be
the same. With all the news, with the prime going on,
if I had twenty minutes with Jerry, I would look
at him just like Michael Irvin, the guy.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
That is the Jerry whisper.

Speaker 6 (37:26):
He kind of broke the news and shout out RG three,
who said it at first. He was the very first
guy that said, hey, look at this guy and what
he's been able to do for Boulder changing them not
obviously hadn't the win hasn't correlated. But like you said
earlier and alluded to a leader amongst men, somebody that
has done it at the highest level, that bodies everything

(37:47):
that you want to do. And like the best coaches,
especially right now, that are winning and the great ones
that I've been around, Pete Carroll, you guys like Tom
Kostman and stuff like that, these were leaders amongst men
that were able to connect to their locker room talk
to them. So with Dion, what he's gonna bring you
is he's gonna he's gonna bring in, in my opinion,
a Jimmy Johnson field that we haven't had in a while,

(38:09):
somebody that can actually talk to you, but you also
respect his opinion. It's not like you're gonna go in
there and bump Jerry and say, Jerry, we're not doing this.
But he has enough, Jenni said, quad to go in
there and be like, hey, Jay, this is prime, baby.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
This is prime.

Speaker 6 (38:21):
Let me do what I do and I'm gonna do
what we're gonna do and we're gonna get to win it.
But also not only are we gonna win, we're gonna
win in a fashionable cent And we all know that
when you win in a fashionable sense, that brings in dollars.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
Jerry, and we know we've seen what you did.

Speaker 6 (38:35):
The richest organization, the most profitable and valuable team in
the NFL, d Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (38:41):
Imagine what Prime can do to this economy.

Speaker 6 (38:43):
Cowboys are already within their soulf Look what he did
to Boulder, and not only look what he did to
the economy, but look what he did to the men
and the people that he was able to recruit there.

Speaker 5 (38:52):
You don't think you say you hire a Prime time
that they're gonna say.

Speaker 6 (38:55):
Hey, it's a new field in Dallas, that all the
free agents are gonna try to come over here, come playing.
And then you have a guy like Trevorn Diggs over
there that can learn from guys like him that can
motivate and not only motivate, but put the people around
him to where they respect him. It's not too many
people that command the respect the warrants app the way
he does. So that's why I think prom would be
the guy.

Speaker 5 (39:16):
Before you go.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Just want to make sure.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
NFL dot Com reporting that the Cowboys have officially asked
the Eagles to interview Kellen Moore or their head coaching positioned.

Speaker 5 (39:26):
So there you go.

Speaker 7 (39:29):
Barry Church also.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
I'm off the rope though when it comes to that,
I'm off the train. Tracks on that one from ed Warder.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
An hour ago, he tweets out regarding Dion Sanders, I'm
being told that he would almost certainly accept if Jerry
Jones offers to make him the next Cowboys head coach,
and those around him are encouraging him to pursue it,
and that Jones is enamored.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
With the idea.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
So that is from a Hall of Fame reporter when
I started a Pro football Hall of Fame Edwarder, Now,
who are you going and who if you're talking to?

Speaker 4 (40:01):
Jery tell So this is the difficult part about this
is because I love Deon Sanders. I absolutely loved him
in Atlanta. I love him at Florida State. I love him.
I think he is one of the best cornerbacks to
ever play the game. And what he's done when he
was coaching Little League, the truth and guys that followed

(40:21):
his career and called games for him in high school.
Seeing what he's done at Jackson State, I think that
his ministry is college football. I think that he is
the kind of change agent that get young men from
these urban areas and change these guys. And you're seeing
what he's done with Travis On, You're seeing what he's
done with Horn Junior. You're seeing what he's done with

(40:43):
so many of these guys. And these guys need a
Deon Sanders. College football needs Deon Sanders. I'm not saying
that the pro game isn't isn't where he ultimately is
going to be, But I think right now, if you
look at the college playoff system, there's gonna be a
team that's gonna win the championship that is going to
be out of the top five, the Power five. It's

(41:03):
not going to be your SEC. It's not gonna be
your Big Ten. It's gonna be a Colorado, it's going
to be a Nebraska. It's gonna be one of those
teams as you saw this year with team like Penn State,
nobody like we're talking about Penceton. You had Penn State
as one of those teams that would have ultimately come
closely a Boise State, a team like that will be
able to compete. But I just I feel like where

(41:24):
he is right now is where he needs to be.
There's also the fact.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
Who will be your guy.

Speaker 4 (41:31):
So I'm saying the right hire is Aaron Glenn and Detroit,
Aaron Glenn is the proper is the proper coach because
he's going to be able to lead your defense.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
He's going to be the guy.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
He's gonna have to bring in a defensive coordinator, but
only under the contents of the pretense of you not
only are going to be leading the defense, but you're
gonna have to coach this entire team. You're gonna have
to be a guy that's going to be clued in
offensively as well as defense. It got to the point
where you saw Mike McCarthy those situational things. He could

(42:05):
not control those, and you need to have a coach
that's going to have his hand on the pulse of
that as well. So that's why I feel like the
right hire would be an Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
All right, I am right, there's number two. That would
be my number two choice. Yes, my number one choice.
And if I'm talking to Jerry Jones is a guy
that coached you and coached you. Rich Bisaci, oh Rich
Pachia is a leader of men. You need stand up
in front of the room and get people together. This

(42:35):
is not about This is not about a guy calling plays.
This is about a guy building a culture, telling everybody
this is what we need to do.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
You go back and you look at the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
When they fired John Gruten very unexpectedly during the season,
that team went to the playoffs. They had an outstanding
playoff game against Cincinnati, who ended up going to Super Bowl.
They lost that game. But Rich besides, and they have
been running in the muck ever since he left. John
Gruten didn't I mean they let Gruten go. Josh McDaniels

(43:07):
didn't work out, Antonio Pierce didn't work out. Rich Pasatchia
everywhere he has been there has been successful.

Speaker 2 (43:12):
As followed.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
I also go into this a special teams coach, where
you deal with everybody in the organization. Dick Vermeil, first
special teams coach ever in the NFL, won a Super Bowl.
Bill Belichick's first job in this league, special teams coach
won in Super Bowl. Bill Coward in the Pro Football
Hall of Fame special teams coach John Harbaugh today, special
teams coach for a league with so many smart people,

(43:34):
how are we ignoring one of the most important coaching
positions of leadership where you got to get dudes to
buy in and do something trying to do all the time.

Speaker 6 (43:43):
I'm going to apologize because honestly, I haven't even seen
no reports out there for coach Pasace.

Speaker 5 (43:48):
That's my guy, Rich, shout out to him.

Speaker 6 (43:50):
But to piggyback on to pick man boy, you came
left with that that was a great because what people
don't understand is, like, let's break it down, like the
first person that you're gonna have to see when you
walk into that room when you get drafted, what do
they do? It's the special team coach to ask you
do you feel like you could play this and that?
And as a special team coach, you have to you
deal with every single position, receivers, line, band d lineman,

(44:13):
old lineman, all that from what standpoint and you have
to evaluate them. And when I tell you, Rich, I've
seen coach VASACEI talk to the star player the team,
to the lowest gall on the team the same exact
way and said, hey, I will get you your transfer
paper if you can't do that, and everybody rallied about him.
It wasn't like, oh, he can't talk to me like that.

(44:34):
If he said something, everybody was like, okay, be quick,
I got a quick question. Your your opinion on Pete Carroll.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
I would talk.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
I would talk to Pete Carroll all day long because
Pete Carroll has a program. If you are interested in
one day making Jason Witten your head coach, and you
