Ready to stop watching from the sidelines? Coach Mikki delivers a powerful wake-up call about the dangers of waiting for the "perfect moment" to pursue your dreams. With straight-talking wisdom, this episode tackles the uncomfortable truth that no touchdowns are ever scored while sitting on the bench.

We all fall into the trap of hesitation, waiting for the right time, the perfect opportunity, or until we feel "good enough." But as Coach Mikki reminds us, these are just mental barriers we create. The reality? There's no such thing as perfect timing. Everyone who's ever accomplished anything meaningful had to start somewhere, often with shaky, uncertain first steps.

This episode reframes failure as simply "the first attempt in learning" and challenges the negative "what if?" questions that keep us paralyzed. What if you succeed beyond your wildest dreams? What if taking action opens doors you never knew existed? The only way to discover these possibilities is to get in the game.

The most empowering message comes in recognizing that your unique path can only be walked by you. No one, not family, friends, or mentors. can do the work required to achieve your specific goals. Small, consistent actions compound over time, creating momentum that transforms into extraordinary results.

Ready to stop watching life happen around you? Listen now and discover how to silence the doubts, embrace imperfection, and take that crucial first step toward the life you truly want. As Coach Mikki says, "Start strong, finish strong, and dominate everything in between."

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, come on, bring it in.
Bring it in.
Listen up.
Listen up.
No touchdowns are ever scoredwhen you sit on the bench and a
lot of times we sit on the benchwaiting, waiting to go in,
waiting to see if it's our time, waiting if it's the right play,
waiting if we feel good enough.
And I can tell you right nownothing's ever going to happen

(00:20):
if you sit on the bench.
You have to get up every singleday and do something that is
going to get you closer to yourgoal.
When we sit and wait for thingsto happen, things are going to
happen.
They're still going to happenaround you.
Time doesn't stop.
But when we are waiting, basedon hesitating or fear or

(00:42):
thinking that maybe we're notready or we're not good enough,
things are going to keephappening, whether you're part
of it or not.
It's just a matter of when youdecide to take that time, to
step out there and do it.
Things are never easy from thebeginning.
Everybody, everybody that'sever walked this planet, has had
to start somewhere.
They've had to take that firststep, they've had to make that

(01:04):
first phone call, they've had towrite that first email just to
be able to take one step closerto whatever goal that they want
to accomplish.
Now, I know that sometimesisn't easy, because we're always
waiting for the right time andthe right availability and I can
tell you sometimes it won'tever come.
It's not going to come.
There's no such thing asperfection.
There's never going to be aperfect time.

(01:25):
There's never going to be thatperfect opportunity.
It's going to always going tohave to be something where you
just take the risk and you goand do it and don't worry about
the mistakes.
I mean, everybody makes mistakes.
You know, I was just talking ona podcast and I was telling
them when they said, well, whatabout what happens when you make

(01:45):
a mistake?
Well, okay, so everybody does.
And I look at it like this youknow, like in Hollywood they've
got mistakes where it's likeokay, you know, it's a do over,
it's a mistake, you know it'sthe same thing as a mistake,
it's a mistake.
And they start from square one.
They start, they say go back toone.
Well, it's the same thing withus.

(02:06):
So what if you make a mistake?
You just go back to one and youstart over again and then learn
from it, figure out what didn'twork, why didn't it happen?
Why was it something that youneeded to adjust, or maybe make
a different observation about it, or maybe look at it from a
different and then just keepmoving forward.
It doesn't mean this is a placeto stop when we allow fear to

(02:29):
also get in the way of gettingoff the bench.
It also does, as it holds usprisoner.
You know, fear is not somethingthat is easily to get over, but
it also was something that youhave to recognize.
I always say that fear orfailure, fail, is the first

(02:51):
attempt in learning, and when wefail, we should be able to go
okay, what worked, what didn'twork and what do I need to do
differently.
You have to take the thingsthat are happening with the
things that you want to do andyou have to decide what's more
of a priority the things thatyou want and the passion that

(03:11):
you have, and knowing thatwithin every fiber of your being
, you already have what it takesto get you there.
You just have to take the stepsto do it.
Shut out all the noise, stoplistening to all the opinions,
stop listening to the littlevoices in your head that are
telling you maybe I can't.
What if?
What if this happens?

(03:32):
What if that happens?
What if this doesn't work?
Well, what if it does?
What if it does work?
What if it's better than youthought?
What if you go out there thefirst time and just totally rock
it?
What if, all of a sudden, it'sbetter than you had even ever
anticipated?
What if you open up a door thatyou had no idea was even there

(03:52):
and it leads to something better?
But you're never going to knowthat unless you get off the
bench and unless you take thefirst step, and unless you
decide that today's the day thatyou're going to do everything
you want to do to be able tomove forward and be
extraordinary in your own life.
So get up off the bench, go dosomething for yourself.

(04:15):
Everything you do each andevery day is going to compound
into something exciting, andyou're going to look back a year
from now and go oh my gosh, every little thing I did brought
me to where I am today, andbelieve in yourself.
Believe that you've got this.
You know you've got things thatyou are only you can do.
I can't do them for you, yourfamily can't do them for you,

(04:39):
your friends can't do them foryou.
Everything you want in yourlife, only you can do.
So get up off the bench and go.
Take that one step and go makeyour life extraordinary.
Start strong and finish strongand dominate everything in
between.
I'm Coach Mickey, let's go.
