5. The Family Tree Project

Episode highlights: This episode brought to you by the handful of jelly beans I ate before I hit record… The end of my elementary years, the transition to middle school, my year at Northwest and how two torn pages in a science book led to me changing schools. The time I got grounded for dropping the F-bomb, how I was terrified of telling Granny I was bleeding, my mother gets divorced and eventually moves into our neighborhood. The time Granny sent me, at age 11 or 12, to be a child chaperone for my mother and her questionable choice of a boyfriend. The day Granny and I stole a dog and how I hoped my mother would finally take me back. 

I talk some about how this introspection and examining events from the past and comparing my childhood experiences contributes to how I spend time with my own children. 

Finally, I shout out the books I’m reading and dish out this week’s dose of internet therapy from narcissistic_hangover, which I have a lot of thoughts about.
