Welcome to the show, jodi, andthanks for being here.
Hi, alyssa, yes, it's great tobe on.

Jodi (01:32):
Thanks for asking, that's great.

Alyssa (01:33):
Of course it's so great to have you here and to kick
things off.
I'd love to hear more aboutyour journey.
I've actually never heard of atransformational energy medicine
practitioner, so tell me moreabout that.
And how did you develop yourincredible 12 week program, the
harnessing harnessing the powerto heal yourself.
Tell me more about that.

Jodi (01:51):
Yeah, well, I guess that's it.
So that's where I am now andI've got to that point.
So the program will start at,sort of, at the end of the
question.
The program is a part of, Iguess, the shortcuts of
everything that I've learned onmy journey, because I haven't
always been in this place whereI am now.
So 12 years ago, 11 years ago,I left a relationship that was

(02:14):
not very good at all, but I hadtwo young children at the time,
but I was in such a bad placethat I'd left without them and
then had to deal with me to findout who I was, so that I could
actually show up for them.
And so to say that it's been aninteresting journey I wouldn't
have said interesting at thetime, but I've learned so much

(02:38):
about life along the way.
And that was just the beginning, because then you've got life,
you still have to get up and geton with things.
So I actually went down thetraditional route and the other
thing that's, I've also been inthe health system for 30 years.
In acute care I was in intensivecare initially and then sort of

(02:59):
transferred over to the cardiacside of things the heart, and
running a cath lab.
So if you have a heart attack, coming in and putting in stents
or pacemakers, if the pacingwasn't right or any rhythms that
weren't right, so we used tooblate them.
But I'm also no longer there.
But at the time I was inintensive care and that was

(03:23):
great because at least I got upand went to work in the morning,
but that was about all I did.
And then I was introduced toyoga.
But at the same time then I was, I went along the traditional
route and saw the psychologistand took antidepressants, and 12
months in I was still inexactly the same position.

(03:44):
So that was kind of when Ithrew all that out the window
and thought, no, I've got to dosomething.
And I didn't really have a plan, but I guess that was me
kicking into my intuition.
There was no way that I couldsustain what I was doing and I
didn't want my life to be likethat, which is why I left in the
first place.
So I got introduced to yoga andthat was incredibly

(04:04):
transformational because even inthe first two weeks of the
classes that I took, I was intears at the end of every class
and so, even though at the timeI wasn't sure what was going on,
it felt so much better forgoing.
So it's a form of energymedicine.
So that's where it all began.
And then I did a yoga teachtraining course because I wanted
to find out more about it formy own benefit.

(04:26):
And, yeah, incredibly powerfulbecause it included mindfulness
and my mentor.
What a woman.
She'd been doing yoga for40-odd years so she ate, slept,
lived it in every sense of theword and, yeah, it was quite
incredible, a real character, and just taught me so much about

(04:48):
everything, not just yoga, youknow, and so it was so handy
having someone like that tosupport you through the journey,
but also the group of womenthat that were involved in the
course.
I mean, wow, just beautiful, those type of people that seek
out to do something like that.
I was surrounded by them forthe first time, you know, and I
got to enjoy their presence.

(05:09):
And three months into that, Iwas introduced to energy
psychology and that's all aboutdealing with your emotions and
hello, who deals with theiremotions in our society?
And that was like.
That was like life on steroids.
Steroids because I had alreadybeen introduced to the physical
side with yoga and I've alwaysdone sport and things anyway,

(05:29):
but that was the mind and thatwas like leaps and bounds
jumping right ahead.
So for 18 months I got to workon me and I was still working
part-time, but doing it and itwas so transformational.
So that was really thefoundation of change.
And my children have alwaysbeen in my life, but certainly

(05:52):
not on the terms that I wouldwant.
So they then started to comeinto my life more.
But of course, life goes on,doesn't it?
And my ex-husband happens to beEnglish, so he decided it was
time to come to Manchesterbecause we all grew up in
Australia, as you can tell frommy accent and so they came over

(06:13):
here, but they had dualcitizenship, so I then had to
get a visa to come over, andthat took a couple of years.
That was a drama, andeverything, too, that took a
couple of years.

Alyssa (06:34):
Wow, no, that's fascinating.
Just your entire story, uh,from you know being, you know a
doctor and then doing this wholethree 360 into, uh, you know,
going into yoga, like that'ssuch an amazing, incredible
transformation.
Um, yeah, a specialist nurseactually.

Jodi (06:47):
So so just you know, at the top of top of the field in
the nursing specialist asopposed to a doctor.
But yeah, we worked in the labas a, as a, as a like with the
consultants yeah, and thatreally it.

Alyssa (07:00):
You know, I and I find with energy psychology that's
such an interesting it's not noone really talks about it like
energy psychology and what itcan do to the body and the mind.
And I find it especiallyhelpful for coaches, consultants
, service providers, because Ifind that so much of their work
involves holding space forothers, and often at the expense

(07:21):
of their own emotionalwell-being and what they're
feeling.
And so I find when you'reconstantly giving energy to your
clients or your business, it'seasy to kind of overlook what's
happening within yourself.
And so I like how energypsychology offers a way to
process those deeper emotionsand kind of clear those mental

(07:41):
blocks that you're feeling.
And so it allows you to kind ofshow up fully for your clients,
and, you know, not just foryour clients but for your own
business as well.
Which kind of leads me into mynext question.
So how can solopreneurs use anenergy medicine, exercise kind
of in their day-to-day to staybalanced and take care of
themselves, while still kind ofshowing up fully for their

(08:02):
clients and take care ofthemselves?

Jodi (08:03):
while still kind of showing up fully for their
clients.
Well, honestly, it's the bestthing to be able to show up
fully for your clients.
So there's where to start.
There's so many of them.
One of the really basicexercises is it's actually
called spooning the feet.
It's grounding.
It's so grounding.
So when you know, certainly inthe climate in the UK, you can't
always get outside and gobarefoot on the ground when it's

(08:26):
snowing outside or it's wet andrevolting.
So you actually get a stainlesssteel spoon and you know what?
Stainless steel if a magnetsticks to it, that's the spoon
you want and then you run it onthe bottom of your feet because
I know it's bonkers, isn't it?
The earth holds negative ionsand we and our technology and

(08:49):
everything, we hold positiveions as humans and we're
actually magnets as human beings, but we get clogged up with
positive ions and so to get thatflow happening with the earth,
like we would have done if wewere walking barefoot in caveman
days, we need to.
We wear rubber-soled shoes,don't we?
So we stop that flow when wewalk outside.
So if you and the spoon worksto bring the positive um ions

(09:15):
down to your feet so it canconnect, as though you are
connecting with the earth to getthat flow happening and it
really balances everything outwhen you're grounded.
So, yeah, as bonkers as thatsounds, it's called spooning the
feet, and I have got a.
I've got a youtube channel andthat's one of the exercises on
there.
So, um, so everyone, anyone'sgot the opportunity to have a

(09:40):
look and see if what myexplanation hasn't made a lot of
sense to you, get on and have alook, for sure that's great.

Alyssa (09:47):
That's such great advice and I'm actually going to try
that.
Let's see.

Jodi (09:49):
Yeah, I do every morning and every night I've got a spoon
by my bed and all my clientswell, my clients now, when they
come to see me if they come andsee me as opposed to online I
give them a spoon so they can gohome it.
Then they've got no excuse butto ground, because it's one of
the basic energy, what do youcall it like the basic energy

(10:10):
framework?
That is one of the things thatwe want to do, so that then all
the other things that we canwork on are going to hold a lot
longer, because you're alreadyin alignment.

Alyssa (10:19):
I love that.
I love grounding exercises.
Like, for example, what I'll dois I'll go walk barefoot like
in nature, in a forest or youknow, like just on the ground
you know, because it's just,it's so healing for me and it
just calms me down.
Yeah, it is, and so you know youcan do little things like that
and I love that exercise.
I actually never heard of that,so I'm going to try that myself

(10:41):
.
But, building on all of those, you know, grounding exercises
and all of those things thattalk about with energy
psychology, I know your programfocuses on tools like the law of
attraction and, you know, creating an action board.
These concepts are reallyintriguing, especially for
solopreneurs with big visions, for, you know, businesses or for

(11:01):
their life, and so how guidepeople to use some of these
tools to turn their goals intoreality?

Jodi (11:08):
well, it's a really good question actually.
So the, the program itself.
It has an online component andthat's a lot of that is going
through the.
It's a lot of it's aboutawareness about what your
beliefs are, what stresses youand what emotions you're
actually experiencing, what yourstories are, what stresses you
and what emotions you'reactually experiencing, what your
stories are.
So once you start to becomeaware, then we know what we're

(11:32):
working with to overcome from anenergetic point of view, but at
the same time, anything that istriggered while you're doing
the program.
We also get on and haveone-on-one sessions.
So it's very much a case of youjust live your life.
Whatever's surfacing for you inthe story, let's deal with it.
So because, let's face it, lifehappens, doesn't it?

(11:52):
So, week to week, I guess thejournal questions some of them
are set up to trigger you sothat we do get those.
And the deeper you dig, themore benefit that we do get that
those, um, and the deeper youdig, the more benefit that
you'll get from it.
But also, if you're not readyto move that energy, that's fine
.
You know it's very much meetingyou where you're at, because

(12:15):
it's not something that it, yourbody, will only allow me to
deal with the energy that you'reready to deal with.
It's that, yeah.

Alyssa (12:24):
Wow.

Jodi (12:25):
And we've got therapeutic tools.
So one of the modalities I useis Eden Energy Medicine and we
can test where the energies arenot strong and which ones are
strong and which ones are weaker, and then, from a balance out
point of view, we know whichexercises then to give to
balance them out.
So it's a really bespokeprogram energetically as to what

(12:47):
you need.

Alyssa (12:48):
Yeah, so you're doing like one big audit for yours,
for people who are joining thisprogram.

Jodi (12:54):
Completely.
Yeah, that's awesome, I lovethat and then so if there are
things that are limiting forthem while they're doing their
action board and there'sblockages.
Well, let's work on it.

Alyssa (13:03):
What's going on, and I believe it's like individual
right Per person, like I feellike everybody has their own
energetic blocks that are notnecessarily in the same place as
somebody else.
So it is like you know, and Ifeel like that's it's such a
personalized experience that alot of people can appreciate,
because it is something thatit's know, follow a calculation

(13:26):
and it's kind of generic.
It's extremely personalized tothe person and what they're
feeling and experiencing, whichmakes this program, uh, so
interesting.
And so I think you know that'ssuch helpful advice for a lot of
us who are, you know, who aremaybe feeling mental blocks or
feeling energetically out ofalignment and they need help to,

(13:50):
and support to, get back intune with themselves.
And so what I love about thispart of the show it's called the
brilliant bite of the week, andthis is the part of the show
where we leave our listenerswith a quick, actionable
takeaway that they can use tospark their own brilliant ideas
or something that they mightreally think about, that they

(14:12):
should go for their next step.
And so what is one piece ofadvice or mindset shift or a
strategy that you would like toshare with our listeners to stay
connected to themselves whilebuilding their business, or just
being more in alignment withthemselves.

Jodi (14:28):
Okay, definitely I got lots, but one of the biggest
things for solopreneurs is weneed to make sure that we give
ourselves self-care.
That's a priority.
It's not a let's put that atbottom of the list, because
everything else is moreimportant.
That's to be at the top of thelist because then everything
else flows.
So just something if you're notso good at that, write down 10

(14:52):
things that you love to do butyou haven't done for a long time
, just do that and then, one byone, you're going to put them in
.
That's 10 weeks of thingsyou're going to do.
So we're talking one a week.
You're going to actually bookwhatever it is that you've got
on the top of your list.
You're going to put that inyour diary and you're going to
book it.
If it's a massage book, themassage.

(15:17):
And so for 10 weeks you've got10 things that you're going to
do for self-care, for yourself, and Alyssa can be, she can be
your accountability partner.

Alyssa (15:24):
Okay, yeah, honestly.

Jodi (15:26):
I can't, you can't stress how important it is because it's
so easy just when you'reworking on yourself on your own
or you know just, you get socaught up in your own headspace
doing all your business, adminand things online.
Get up and go outside likenature, just go for a walk in
nature or something like that,to get back to you.

Alyssa (15:44):
That's right, that's amazing.
Thank you so much for sharingthat with our listeners, and
it's going to be so helpful fora lot of people who are just
kind of stuck and just need thatnext step, and so I know our
listeners right now are going tobe walking away with so much
inspiration.
So thank you so much for thissuper valuable conversation
today.
For those people who want tolearn more about your work or
