Speaker 1 (00:00):
What up. It's kaylin A backstage at Lallapalooza with my
new girl, Miss Natalie Jane.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
How you doing. I'm so good. How are you? I'm good.
Welcome to Chicago, Thank you. I love it here. It's
like clean New York City.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Yeah that is people do say that.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I mean, there is quite a beef between the two cities. Yeah, yeah,
I don't like New York City. Not in New York.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
I only like the New York crowds, but otherwise I
don't like New York City. Okay, you're Jersey girl, right, Okay,
so that's kind of a big statement. Yeah, I know,
I don't know. I like the suburbs. I like the room,
like yeah, the grass, Yeah, grass is great.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Grass is great.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
That's why I live in LA because there's like, there's grass,
but there's also city.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
You can ground. Yeah, you can get into all kinds
of things.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
You get it.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
When did you get in? Because I saw that you
had well, first of all, you had your head out
of a cab or a car.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Of some sort, and then I saw you.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
You were at Lallapalooza yesterday watching people.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Yeah, I was here since I got in on Wednesday,
just because I don't know. I never want to miss
a flight and then like get delayed to the next day. Anyway,
I was here on Wednesday, okay, and I just love
music festivals. I'm like, I'm performing, but I'm like here
for the whole time, I'm watching everyone.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Okay. I love that because I feel like people usually
come in for two seconds, perform and leave, but you're
you're soaking it up. You said you saw Renee rap,
which is amazing, saw Chapel Benson, everybody, everybody. I love it.
I'm a festival girl too. I love Laala, love Coachella.
My dream is what's the one in England? God, what

(01:25):
is it called? I can't think of it right now,
but there's a really big one in England. Jason will
look it up for me. Yes, Glastonbury. Yeah, I don't
know why. That's just my dream festival. I have to
tell you something funny. So I've been listening to your
new single so much that my boyfriend actually caught me
off from it.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
That's hilarious. Yeah, Hey, we have to yell at him.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I did yell at him. Okay, I've all joined in,
so now the joke is like he'll be I'll be like, hey, babe,
you know what, and he'll make what. I'm like, I
just want to fall in love.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yes, you're torturing.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Me, but it's I mean, he loves it, but like
I've done it and done it over again. It's so
no that makes me happy. It's so good. And your
voice is I think that you, I would say probably
have the best voice of this generation.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Honestly.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
You can sing girls, thank you so much. You can
cover Whitney Houston. Do you realize little people.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Waiting Whitney Houston?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Because it's like the prosion, no one will be Whitney Houston.
No one will be Whitney but you actually you can
do it, like you're allowed to do it. You can
be in the conversation. Didn't her family invite you to
perform at like hotel opening or something?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
It was? It was at a Grammy party a couple
of years ago.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yeah, all right, well, I mean that speaks for song,
right And then speaking of Grammys, you were on what
it was the list of rising stars.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
To look out for.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yes, you're I mean you're really you're in your vibe
right now. You first headlining tour.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, we just finished that up. How was that so fun?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, it's like my favorite part about everything is the tours.
Is it just because of the energy And it's the energy,
but like, like I don't think I would ever travel
randomly to like Oslo, Norway if I wasn't doing a
show there.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, so you can see the world.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
I like get to see the world and perform for
people and it just like meet strangers from across the
globe is crazy and it's the coolest thing in the
world to me.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
I love it. So do you prefer a festival or
do you prefer a tour or are they different?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
I will say I prefer tour, okay, just because every
single person there is there for you. Yeah, and you
feel the love because like I do so much on
social media and like, yeah, there are millions of people
on there, and anyone can say what they want.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Anyone can be mean, anyone can be nice.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
They're the worst.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
But like a hater's not gonna buy a ticket and
if they do slight, like I'll take your money. But
like exactly, and this it's it's just a room full
of love. And that's my favorite part about tour.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
And speaking of your social I feel like you. I mean,
you definitely went viral four singing in a parking garage, right,
and I feel like you were the first one I
saw doing that. I love those videos and like I
love your covers. I mean, I love your music as well,
but I feel like, I don't know, man, your voice
is just very soothing and beautiful to me. Oh hey,

(04:16):
you're soothing and beautiful. Oh my god, oh my god,
stop it, stop it.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
No. I was like I was in the garages because
I moved from New Jersey to California to Los Angeles,
and I went from a house with my family to
an apartment and I didn't want to get noise complaints,
like screaming in my apartment. So I just went down
to the parking garage and it was like three levels.
I went to the bottom level. There were like two cars.
I sang and like there was a great echo, and
then the videos did great, so I just kept going, yeah,

(04:41):
and then that's how that started.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I love it, and you have a song. We are
on a morning radio show and we talked about intrusive
thoughts the other day, and we had people call in
and say they're intrusive thoughts. And there were some really,
I mean, there were some wild funny ones. Do you
do you have intrusive thoughts?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Or is that just a name of one of your
songs that I do have and choose of thoughts all
the time. To pull the fire alarm, I will never
do it right, but every time I'm like, I can
just move my hand and do it.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Like what's stopping me?

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Nothing, nothing stopping you.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
I think that too, Like when I'm driving, I'm like,
I could just right I did. I did, let one
thought win. When I was little, I stapled my finger
when I was in elementary school. I know, I know,
but that's the only time I let it, and then
I learned my lesson. Wow, my lesson. I know.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
I don't know if these are intrusive thoughts as much
like just like ice cream at midnight, like.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
After you brush your teeth.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah, I feel like after you brush your teeth, you're
like done for the night.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
I put my my retainer in, I think it's gonna
stop me, and then I think for forty five minutes,
I should probably just.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Get off meat right, Yeah, you get it. Chicken nuggets.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
That's my favorite food. I've never met a chicken nugget
I don't like or a tender you get it at all?
I get I feel like I don't know. So what
can we look forward to career wise? And then your
performance today.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I have my EPI.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Coming out September twenty seven, with the lead single on
August sixteenth.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Okay, it's called Sick to My Stomach.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Okay, it's just like about all things and people who
make you uncomfortable or give you anxiety, because we all
have that and it just makes you like nase, just.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Like sick to your stomach.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah, you can feel it.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Yeah, literally. So I call the I call the fans. Now,
we're all part of the Twisted Tommy Club.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Hat girls have summer prob.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Hot girls have tiny issues. Yeah, no, it's a fact.
It is a fact.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
I meet the most gorgeous person in my life ibs struggling, struggling.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
But I also like love pandas. So I have this
sticker and it's a panda with a tummy ache.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Oh that's really hot. Girls have tummy issues. Oh my god,
I love this.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
And this is appropriate because last year at Lolla Blues,
I had a big shiner. I had a big black
black eye that I gave myself, Oh my god, because
I'm clumsy, but everyone was saying it looks like a panda,
so I have tummy issues and I love this little sticker.
I love that. Also, oh, where did you get that
damn hot red jumpsuit that looks like that that you
had on?

Speaker 2 (07:03):
And do you own this?

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Did you like? No? My stylist, she's slaying recently slaying.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
You always look hot.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Love the nails, love the vibe today. Are we keeping
this on for the performance? Are we? I love it?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
We're going for like sexy ten men.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I love it well sexy tim Man? Okay, hell yeah,
Well I will be down in the crowd cheering you on.
I'm excited. Yes, and where can everyone follow you at?
Natalie Jane sings perfect, all right, well, thanks so much
for taking the time. I know it's come to hell.
Thank you for having me? Yes, of course, Yes,
