(00:43):
Hi everybody.
Oh, I've just been to the gym,um, and I was listening to a
podcast in there and, um, allabout Reiki.
It's a Reiki podcast and, um,and also, uh, yesterday I went
to a, like a networking event,um, that was also like a
(01:07):
brainstorming content planningsession about social media.
So it was a very 3D, verygrounded approach, very
strategic approach to yourbusiness.
Uh, and I wasn't the onlyspiritual person there, which
was really nice.
I made a new spiritual friendand she's, she's great.
I'm definitely going to have heron the podcast.
(01:29):
Uh, and then there was two otherladies, one, uh, Both in non
spiritual, let's call it,businesses, lovely ladies, all
of them, and then the, the ladywho runs the group.
Um, and it was really useful, because it got me in this very
grounded state of thinking, uh,what is it I actually do?
(01:51):
What does I Help Women withSpirituality actually mean?
And it was really useful to seethat reflected back in people
that aren't immersed in myworld.
You know, sometimes we can be inthis, like, echo chamber of our
own making, and it happensnaturally on social media, the
algorithm will point you topeople with similar points of
(02:11):
views.
I always try and avoid that, andI get people with polar opposite
political views, for example.
Um, that I think are both goodpeople and follow them both.
Um, so it was very useful.
However, it did exhaust me andit's, it's the 3D approach and
(02:32):
also the socializing.
I am neurodivergent and the moreI grow into this authentic self
of mine, I realize, wow, Ireally am like socializing.
Absolutely.
In that context with brand newpeople and a ton of different
energies all around me, we werein like a hotel and it was just
like busy and yeah, I wasdestroyed yesterday when I came
(02:54):
back.
That doesn't mean I didn't enjoyit.
I did and it was great.
But anyway, I digress.
Yeah, so then I, I came, I cameback and I was like, today has
fried my head, despite it beingvery useful.
And I needed to just.
Brain zombie out, which I didand then this morning still
feeling really exhausted think Imight have picked up a cold as
(03:16):
well Um, I actually thought Ineed to go and lift some weights
because I haven't been doing itand I need to do it And so I did
it took an ibuprofen went tolift some weights and whilst I
was in the gym I was listeningto my Reiki podcast Three women,
very much in their spirituality, talking about energy healing,
(03:37):
all stuff I completelyunderstand.
I am Reiki attuned, it's notpart of my business at the
moment, but the more You knowwhat?
This is relevant.
I was about to stop myself, butthis is relevant, right?
3D, strategic, no, you have notgot time to do Reiki for people.
Focus on the yoga, focus on thehelping women with spirituality.
(03:59):
And then the other part ofmyself, the connected channel
part is like Reiki, Reiki, Reikikeeps bringing me back.
Um, and so it's a balance.
It's a really relevant thing totalk about on this podcast
because in my brain it's theconscious, it's the channeled,
it's the Awakened, it's tappinginto the signs and then it's the
grounded.
(04:20):
Um, feet on the floor, what doyou need to do next?
Are you being distracted?
Da da da da da.
Just to intervene here as well, but when I spoke to Alex, my
yoga teacher, my firstinterview, go check that, that,
that podcast out.
It's a really, really good one.
It's really interesting.
She actually, I didn't reflectthis back at her too much
(04:41):
because we didn't really havethe time, but she actually, when
I said to her, how do you stayconscious but grounded, she saw
the grounded.
As the more spiritual.
And this is neither right norwrong, being grounded is
spiritual.
But I, in my brain, which isvery like, I see things a
certain way.
It's like the root chakra, thegrounded, is like coming back to
(05:03):
the world.
Right, we need to cook dinnerfor the kids.
Yes.
Showing up in the real world asa spiritual person is what
grounded is for me.
And then the conscious, thecrown chakra, all the way at the
other end is like I'm channelingright now, I'm meditating right
now, I'm, I'm really in touchwith my crown chakra.
But it's really important tostay grounded there also, right?
(05:24):
So it's the flow of energybetween the two.
Yeah.
So, I've got this strategicnotes, content planning, what do
I actually do, distill it down, use plain language, don't be an
echo chamber.
stuff from yesterday.
And I've also got this kind oflike calling to do Reiki and
things like that.
And somewhere in the middle is,is what I should do, right?
(05:46):
The balanced approach.
It's like really remembering Ineed to speak in plain language
because yesterday was useful.
It got us all thinking aboutwho's my actual audience here?
Like, who is it I'm helping?
What is it I actually do?
It was really useful.
And for me, I think the peoplethat listen to this podcast, and
(06:08):
it's going to be reallyinteresting because you can
reflect back on whereabouts youare on this scale, I think it's
the people who, they might buy acrystal in the shop, they're
going to buy an essential oil, they're drawn to this stuff but
it's not their entire life.
But also, I think a spiritualitypodcast is going to attract
people who are really into theirspirituality and who are
(06:29):
probably trained inspirituality, you know, who
listens to the big spiritualitypodcasts.
It's people on that scale.
I don't think people are goingto listen to this podcast are
people who have no idea what I'mtalking about.
Um, and to call spirituality woowoo and things like that.
(06:50):
I know a lot of people do inspirituality circles and they
don't mean it in a denigratingway, but I've kind of moved away
from that.
Um, even though my old podcastwas called The Sober Woo, I
never meant it in, um, adenigrating way, but I had a
really good chat with myspiritual coach and we were
like, we're no longer using thatterm because it denigrates
(07:10):
something that is the oppositeof that.
It's like, The divine and so wewon't belittle it by calling it
woo woo, but i'm not offended ifpeople do i'm just like it's
okay It's fine.
Um, because they don't theydon't mean unless their
intention is to be rude Um, Idon't see that as a problem if
(07:31):
they're like, oh, I love a bitof woo, you know What they mean
is I love some crystals.
I love some essential oils.
I'll go to a regular healer Isee that as my audience.
I really feel like because i'mHumble in that I'm only five
years into my this, into thisspiritual journey that, that the
form that it's taking.
Um, I mean, I've always, like Isay, I've always spoken to God
(07:54):
since I was a little girl.
So my spiritual journey is alifetime one.
But, but this, this distillationof what I'm here for, the fact
that it's become my work.
I'm four or five years in, interms of my training, um, and me
really picking up this Dharmaand this life purpose side of
(08:16):
it.
So I wanted to explain what Ithink of as spirituality and I'm
going to call this podcast.
What does spirituality mean?
What does spirituality evenmean?
You know, on my Instagram bio acouple of days ago, I thought,
God, I'm really, I'm reallyputting the toolkit at the front
here.
(08:36):
And I always tell people not todo that.
I was like, yoga teacher, embodiment coach.
I really want to, and I knowit's better to say what you
actually do for people.
So I was like, I help women.
I'm helping women explore theirspirituality.
And then at the event yesterday,I like being asked questions
because it's confronting me withthe reality of what people are
thinking and the lady said Whatdoes that even mean?
(08:58):
Like what does spiritualitymean?
I don't think people know and asI've just discussed I do think,
I do think that people who pickup this podcast, people who are
Drawn to my work, and don't getme wrong, there's bloody loads
that aren't, I lose followersall the time And that's actually
fine because I want the peoplewho want to work with me to
gravitate and the people who arelike this isn't for me Like,
(09:23):
yeah, it's fine if it's not foryou and it's absolutely fine to
unfollow me.
And so what does spiritualitymean to me?
So I actually had a greatdiscussion with the spiritual
person at the event and we werekind of like having some great
discussions between us havingthese similar kind of issues and
similar problems in our businessand our communication and
(09:46):
marketing.
And we both agreed that peoplewho come to us probably do know
what they mean and what I meanby spirituality.
But I also have thisconversation with Alex on the
podcast and it's like, for me,so in yoga, in the yoga sutras,
they talk about prakriti andpurusha.
Prakriti is my skin, my flesh,my bones, my coffee cup, my car,
(10:11):
everything.
It's everything that's made,everything that's physical
matter, right?
Uh, and then purusha is thesoul, so it's unextinguishable,
um, the spirit source.
And for me What I think Ifyou're spiritual, and it's
(10:31):
really interesting, I waswatching, I was watching on
Netflix the show where they dateeach other behind the wall, Love
is Blind, last night.
I told you I had to go intozombie mode and eat galaxy and
just like watch Love is Blind.
Um, they were talking aboutspirituality and the boy was
saying, the guy was like, I goto church every week.
(10:52):
I'm really religious.
And the girl was saying, Ibelieve in a higher power, but
I'm not religious.
My sister is gay.
And so I'm like very carefularound religion.
Like I don't, um, prescribe to areligion dogma that's exclusive
of any community.
And I was like, absolutely samehere.
And we had an interestingconversation, my husband and I,
(11:13):
about how.
Some, um, churches, maybe in theStates a bit more, would be
exclusive of differentcommunities.
Because over here, I don't thinkthey would be, necessarily.
Uh, I'm sure you can find somethat are, but for me, that's
nothing to do with God.
That's just like something thatHumans have created around that
(11:34):
fits their ideology, right?
And so the conversation betweenthem was interesting.
Like, what do you view asspirituality?
And it's like, for me, it's justlike the acknowledgement of the
existence of a higher power, um,that is not something you can
physically touch.
Right?
So it's like consciousness, God,the universe.
(11:57):
And even like when I met my yogateacher, she was not, when I
first met her.
She was definitely, um, notreally talking about God as
such, and now she is.
So the spiritual evolution canshift and ebb and flow, and our
terminology can change, and thenwe're okay with this word, and
(12:20):
then we realize it kind ofdoesn't fit anymore, and it's a
shifting and evolving thing.
So what is spirituality?
It's shifting and evolving, it'sbelief in a higher power, um,
And all the other things arebeautiful add ons, right?
Like crystals, and essentialoils, and pendulums, and Palo
Santo, and Oh, I love all thosethings.
(12:41):
I mean, I'm a bit of ashopaholic, and it's something I
need to work on.
But I will, they are tools, theyare conduits, so I'm also very
sensitive.
sensory, so like, I will get inthe zone before I need to get on
a zoom call or before I'mcoaching someone or before I get
on a meeting where I want to bein the zone.
I will sage, I will grab anessential oil, I will drink
(13:03):
cacao.
Those things are procreaty, they're physical things, they're
like, they are not the thingthat I'm, um, What's the word?
They are the tools.
They are not the means to, youknow, they are not the goal, the
destination.
Um, you can meditate on anessential oil and it will open a
(13:24):
door for you into your ownconsciousness, right?
Yes, that's what it is.
Um, on that subject, I'mactually conjuring up in my mind
a program with using essentialoils to take you on a journey.
And I'm really excited aboutthat.
So keep your eyes peeled forthat.
If you are also an oily.
Lover.
(13:44):
You know, people are drawn, likemagpies, and I love this about
women as well, and I think womenjust generally are just so,
we're drawn to beautiful things.
I mean, rose quartz, come on,jasmine oil, you know, burning
incense, Palo Santo.
Ugh, I mean, the scents of thesethings and the way that they
make me feel, and this isembodiment, right?
(14:07):
It's coming back, how do wefeel?
Like, so let's come out of thismind state, let's come out of
these things.
Thought spirals, let's detachand just come inward because
that's when you're going to tapinto, even if it's fleeting,
your inner landscape, letting goof the things that have hurt
(14:29):
you, letting go of the thingsthat you think define you and
coming home to your trueessence.
And that's your Purusha, yoursoul, and you've lived lifetimes
before and you're gonna, gonna, gonna probably go on and live
some more.
Um, and a belief in that, ifyou're listening to this and
that resonates.
And you're like, even if it'slike, huh, I don't know.
(14:49):
I'm gonna have to think aboutthat.
Like, it's not like tick boxexercise.
Are you spiritual?
Tick.
It's like, it's for each of usto, to, to mull over.
And I would really urge peopleto keep following the
breadcrumbs.
Right.
Um, today I opened the phone tolisten to a podcast at the gym
and it's the, it's the Reikipodcast.
(15:10):
And I'm sure they do this onpurpose, but it was one minute
and 11 seconds long.
I mean, come on, of course theydo it on purpose.
Uh, it's what I listened to itand it was about Reiki master
training, Karuna Reiki.
And that's the next traininglevel for me.
However, I also haven'tpracticed enough Reiki on
people.
So I think I'm getting thebread, the breadcrumb I'm taking
from that.
And this is another way ofviewing.
(15:31):
Are you someone that readssigns?
Are you someone that sees signs?
That listens to the universe'ssigns?
Or are you totally cut offthere?
Um, you know, for me I listen tothe universe.
I listen to the feedback.
I'm like, okay.
Reiki is being planted in frontof my eyeballs again, um, and
I'm, I mean, I'm so experimentalstill in this business.
(15:53):
I really am.
I started Rachel Brady Yoga inNovember.
I've just started this podcast.
You may be, you may not resonatewith the fact that each podcast
is a chatty, um, brain, youknow, stream of consciousness
exploration as it happens.
That may not be for you.
I know people I work with who Ithink are legends in what they
(16:17):
do that other people don'tresonate with.
Um, so energy has to match, right?
So if you're here and you lovemy energy and you're loving the
stuff I do, I love, I love that.
I'm like, thank goodness.
But there's going to be so manypeople that don't resonate with
that and that's okay too.
Um, and so it's like, follow thebreadcrumbs.
(16:38):
Follow the people that you areresonating with, like when I,
when I was really getting intospirituality this time, you
know, this, this journey, thisrecent five years, you know,
Gabby Bernstein was She's anamazing, um, nurturer of my
early exploration into this typeof spirituality, this really
(17:00):
authentic, personalizedspirituality.
Her language, her approach, thefact that she was like a cool
woman, like my age, everything.
Um, I love her spirit, I loveher vibe, her sense of humor.
Um, and so it's like, go towardsthe teachers and the people, um,
(17:21):
find your soul tribe.
You know, yesterday at thisactivity, um, I boiled down and
we were boiling down all kind ofkey message points.
And one of them was like, yeah,I want to like help women and I,
and I help, and this is what Ido.
It's like helping women who arehonestly mainly in life.
(17:42):
Transition places,transformative spots in their
life, so it's like menopausalwomen, women who've given up
alcohol, uh, women who'verealized that they're
neurodivergent, they tend to bethe women that are drawn to me,
um, women who are in the throesof motherhood and still on that
(18:03):
journey of matrascence, youknow, people who are going
through something.
They're tending to shed theirold skin and I want to help
those women, uh, align withtheir Real, true self.
And like a lot of the time thatjourney is a very spiritual one.
Uh, so that's what, also whatspirituality can mean.
(18:23):
And the other, uh, the otherthing that I just keep coming
back to is, we've gotta find oursoul tribe, we've gotta find our
soul sisters, we've gotta makespiritual friends.
I made two yesterday! And whenyou start to get really into
flow with this, you'll start tojust magnetise people towards
you.
And I was buzzing when I metboth of them.
One was, um, At the yoga studioand the other one was at this
(18:45):
event and I'm like when you seeanother person and you look in
their eyes and you're like, OhGod, we're on the same page.
Like this is so nice because itcan feel lonely being a witch.
I love saying that.
Um, you know, I use that termboth respectfully and also Um,
(19:07):
yeah, so I think we're done.
I think I am done.
I need to go home.
I have to take my eldest for ahaircut and help.
Um, my middle child has all ofher pals over and, um, yeah, so
they'll need seeing to, and thenmy little one.
Oh, he got up too early and thenso he's going to be in a funny
(19:28):
old mood probably.
I better go.
I better get back to the realworld.
Um, so thanks so much guys.
