Rachel Brady's video (00:00):
Conscious but Grounded is a podcast about

(00:02):
spirituality, high vibe livingin the real world.
I ask questions like, how do weconnect to the magic?
The spirit, the source, theuniverse, but with our feet
firmly planted on the ground.
How do we show up in a consciousway and harness that to make
big, paradigm busting change inthe day to day of our lives?

(00:22):
I'm Rachel Brady, mum of three, yoga teacher and embodiment
coach.
This is the place where I'll bereflecting and exploring big,
deep questions, all with a pinchof self deprecation, a few
proper lols, and a lot of reallife.
Join me.
Hello.
Welcome back to Conscious ButGrounded.
Today's episode is a bonusepisode and it is all about the

(00:45):
chakras.
And at the end of the episode,I'm gonna give you an offer to
my Chakras Mini Masterclassaudio course.
It's a really cute, uh, sevenpart private podcast, so I know
I'm a multitasker.
I'm recording this, driving tothe gym.
As you know, I often record whenI'm driving.
Um, I like to kill two birdswith one stone.

(01:09):
I, maybe it's a neurodivergentthing.
Uh, I like to walk the dog andconsume something at the same
time, whether it's an audio bookor a podcast.
And, uh, I like to do two thingsat once, so I, that's why I
recorded the mini masterclass asa private podcast audio, so you
can cook.
I mean, if you don't feel into.

(01:29):
Doing two things at once.
It's also really nice to lie onthe sofa and just listen to it.
Like really take it in becausethere is a lot of instances in
there where, um, I'm gonna askyou to take a pause, pause the
recording and, and journal oreven mentally journal, if you're
out and about.
It's like, just, just thinkabout those things in your mind.
Um, so I wanted to talk to youtoday.

(01:52):
It, it occurs to me often when Italk about my mini masterclass
course.
That people don't know whatchakras are like.
They don't know.
Uh, and so I guess my audiencefor this podcast is the
spiritually curious, uh, youknow, been on the path for a
year or two, maybe, maybelonger, but sometimes I think I

(02:13):
come across people who are sodrawn to this.
Work, but they're like beginnersand they're like, wait, start,
what's this?
What's that?
And I forget sometimes, um,people don't know what things
are.
So I wanted to do, I can'tbelieve I've not done this
episode before, um, an episodeabout what are chakras.
Okay, so there are much biggerchakras, experts out there in

(02:35):
the world.
Uh, some authors I like torecommend are Anna.
Dear Judith.
Um, oh, I've forgotten the nameof the woman whose book I read
first on chakras, but I'm gonnaput it in the show notes.
Um, but I, the way I consumeinformation about chakras is at
the level at which it can beutilized.
And for now, where I'm at andwhere you are at, this is

(02:58):
exactly what you need to know.
So I'm not gonna give.
You any information that youdon't need to know.
So in that sense, I'm perfectlypaired with you right now.
Okay.
You could study for years aboutchakras.
So they are energy centers.
You will sometimes hear themdescribed as vortexes or spirals
or wheels, wheels of life.

(03:22):
And so I like to imagine them ororbs spinning orbs.
There are seven main centersthroughout the body, but there
are many more chakras.
There are chakras that go.
Above us.
There are chakras that go deepinto the earth, but we focus
mainly on the seven chakras.
And as I was about to say, theyare often described as, uh, you
can think of them as wheels, vortexes, orbs of energy.

(03:44):
Wheels of light.
Uh, I like to think of them aswheels are all the same time
pulsing and pulsating, but alsospinning.
But whatever they are in yourmind's eye is just fine because
you can even think of them asmetaphors if you are listening.
Into this, and you are into thisspiritual work, but you are much

(04:06):
more from a scientific, westernmodern background.
That's not wrong.
It's not right.
It's just it is what it is.
And I think it's also this workis not wasted on you because
it's actually thinking aboutthese things as metaphors.
It's just as helpful asimagining that they are
physically there or knowing thatthey're physically there.
So one thing people always sayis, well, what are chakras?

(04:29):
If you cut somebody open, couldyou see their.
Chakras.
No.
Well, no, but can you see wifi?
No.
It is energetic center.
So if that makes sense to you.
That's the first thing.
That's the first thing I wantyou to understand.
These are core energetic centersin our body and about our body,
and they are uh oh, I know whatthat is.

(04:52):
There's a pinging and it's'causemy big gym bag is on the seats
and it's saying, put a seatbelton me.
No, but it's not a person, soI've just moved it.
Okay.
So yes, they're energy centered.
And we're gonna go, we're gonnastart at the bottom, go to the
top.
Um, I'm gonna list them allfirst, and then I'm gonna tell
you a bit about them all andwhat they pertain to.

(05:12):
But first, let's, let's keepwithin the overview.
First, I want you to think ofthe chakras.
As your body map, as your mind, body and spirit map, every
single chakra relates to an areaof your life, gimme an area of
your life and I will tell youwhat, which chakra that pertains
to, and this information at thehighest level can go, can, might

(05:33):
feel a bit like, whoa.
That's a lot of information, butI'm gonna reiterate the most
important things throughoutagain and again and again.
Okay?
So we're gonna go straight inwith the root chakra.
Okay?
And also just to mention, youwill come across chakra work
when you come across things likereiki.
When you come across things likeyoga, they are an ancient, uh,

(05:54):
modality, an ancient system thatthat is represented across many
different ancient traditions andthey all pick up on the same
ancient wisdom.
And bearing in mind, theredidn't used to be in mass
communication.
This gives you an indication ofhow inherent and intuitive and
how ancient this wisdom is andits body.

(06:15):
Wisdom that many traditions, many civilizations have shared,
even though there was mass, nomass communication between them.
Okay, let's go back to what wewere just about to do.
So, root chakra, uh, the rootchakra is at the base of your
spine.
That's the polite way to put it.
The more raw way to put it isit's at your perineum.

(06:37):
So ladies listening will knowwhere your perineum is,
especially if you've had a baby.
Uh, so your perineum is theplace.
Between.
Uh, your vagina and your anus.
So that bit of muscle, that bitthere, um, you know, it can tear
and you have a baby.
It's the root of your system.
It's the deep rooted part ofyou.

(06:59):
It's your psyche, it's youremotional psyche.
It's your place of trust.
It's your place of.
Sexuality on the physical plane, the root chakra.
Okay?
Muara is the Sanskrit name.
Don't worry about that.
You're gonna forget that.
Okay?
It's the root chakra.
Remember this root?
It's red.

(07:19):
The color is red.
That is important.
So when you visualize your rootchakra, I want you to imagine
deep red, and it can pulse.
It can spin.
Just imagine.
Send your energy there now sendyour breath there.
Now squeeze the air in.
Are now It's the center.
Sorry, it's not the center.
We're gonna go to the centerlater.

(07:40):
It's the basis, it's thefoundation.
So if you've ever done like alevel psychology, you might have
heard of Maslow's Hierarchy ofneeds.
It's really interesting how thechakra system directly
correlates to more modern, youknow, in the last couple of
centuries, modes of thoughtaround things like psychology.
So Maslow's hierarchy needs thebottom of the triangle is a bit

(08:02):
like the root chakra.
It's about your security, your.
Absolute foundations in life.
Um, your shelter, your food, your water, your income, or lack
of income, right?
Uh, so it can speak to thingslike abundance.
It can speak to things liketrust.
It can speak to things like, uh,if you are in an abusive

(08:23):
relationship, it can speak tothings like your sex life or
lack of, you know, it can speakto parts of us that have
experienced sexual trauma or anytrauma, and specifically
familial trauma.
Uh, so anything that relates tothe tribe, you know, way back
when we were parts of tribes andif we were ostracized from the

(08:43):
tribe, it meant death.
So no wonder we're frightenedof, uh, insulting people or
putting our boundaries or ourfamily members because our body,
our lizard brain still operatesfrom, you know, a thousand years
ago when, or more, you know, acouple thousand years ago when
we would've been ostracized fromthe tribe before speaking out.
So the root sha.

(09:05):
The sense of belonging, thesense of being money, sexuality,
basic foundation.
That's what we're gonna talkabout today.
That's it.
We're not gonna go any deeper.
It's red, it's the ruby chakra.
And after I've gone through eachchakra and what they mean, we'll
touch on a few little examplesof how to balance them and how
to manage them.
And that really is what thecourse covers though.

(09:27):
Uh, and then we're gonna go upto the next chakra.
So remember there's seven mainchakras.
Uh, the next chakra is a sacralchakra.
So this is like.
I just think of this as the onework that most women need help
in, right?
So it's orange.
Okay?
It's faa, you won't rememberthat.
Don't worry.
Uh, orange, orange, orange,orange.
Think about that.

(09:47):
Sacral chakra sacral.
So it's, it's a few inches belowyour navel.
It's the womb space.
So even if you've had ahysterectomy, you've still got a
sacral chakra.
It's in that area.
Okay?
So this part of us speaks to thenext level up.
So if our root chakra is kindof, so.
Ordered and okay.
And we've got our foundationsand we kind of feel pretty safe

(10:08):
in our homes.
And we've got, you know, we'renot worried about where the next
meal comes from.
We have people in our lives whoare there and we trust them.
Um, we have a healthy level ofsexuality to some degree.
You know, not everything needsto be off the chart to balance
the chakra.
It just needs to be fairlyhealthy.
'cause we we're all human at theend of the day.
Remember that?
And so the sacral chakra is thenext one up.

(10:29):
Think of them in levels, butthey also all work together.
So the sacral chakra is orangeand it's.
About creativity, it's alsoabout sexuality, but more in an
energetic and emotional sense.
It's about imagination.
It's about going with the flow.
So whereas the root chakra isall about earth, the sagal
chakra is all about water andit's going with the flow.

(10:54):
Uh, so I go with the flow islike a very so chakra energy.
So when, when you think aboutpeople who are creative and
imaginative and playful, that isflow.
Low energy, like look at howchildren play.
They don't plan, they just play.
This is creativity.
This is so chakra energy.

(11:14):
Okay, we're gonna go to the nextone.
Or else, if I spend this long onevery single one, you, they
won't need, you won't need tolisten to the course.
Uh, okay, so we're gonna go tothe next one, which is the solar
plexus manipu.
So solar plexus is the core.
Think stoic, crunches core fire.
Sunshine fire is the energyelement.

(11:34):
Of this chakra.
It's yellow, yellow, yellow.
So think this is an area where, this is the chakra that I often
struggle in.
Um, I have oh, terrible corestrength.
I shouldn't say that aboutmyself.
I'm getting better, but I, um, Istruggle in this area.
If I put weight on, it's aroundthis area.
It relates to self-worth, itrelates to self-esteem, power.

(11:58):
Uh, I am enough type of energy.
I am worthy type of energy.
So we're leveling up again.
So we've got.
Our root chakra, we, ourfoundation, we've got ours.
Chakra, we'll, playful,imaginative.
The next one is like, yeah, I'mgonna go get it.
I'm gonna go get it.
It's motivation, it's work, it'sfire energy, solar plexus
energy, and that is the core.
It's a few inches above thenavel.

(12:21):
I'm gonna go up next one to theheart chakra.
Very easy to remember where theheart chakra is and what it's
about.
The easiest one, it's everyone'sfavorite.
Um, the heart chakra and aharter chakra, it's green.
Or sometimes people, I'd sayit's pink, but really it's
green.
Uh, and the heart chakra isexactly what you would think it
is.
It's compassion, it'srelationships.
And it's also, we'll talk moreabout this, uh, at the end, if I

(12:45):
remember, but the harsh chakrais the chakra that connects the
lower chakras to the upperchakras.
So the lower chakras root sacralsolar are chakras of the earthly
plain, the.
Heart chakra is the greatconnector.
Okay, so it's the Anna Harterchakra.
It's green.
It's all about compassion.
It's about love.
It's about oneness.

(13:06):
It's about do we see ourselvesin each other?
It's about how do I show up inthis relationship?
And the heart chakra, AnnaHarter Green, think about that.
It's exactly where you think itwas.
It's in the heart.
But rather than going to theleft where your heart actually
is, it's, it's the tapping pointin the middle of your breast, in
the middle of the nipples, thatchest area there.

(13:27):
Okay, the next one, now we'regoing up into the spiritual
chakras.
Okay.
The higher chakras doesn't meanthey're better like the name of
this podcast, conscious butGrounded.
The conscious is the higherthree, and the grounded is the
bottom three, and we need both, right?
So we're going up to the nextgroup of chakras.
The next one after the heart.

(13:47):
Is the throat.
So the throat chakra, very, veryimportant chakra.
It's all about, as you'dimagine, speaking your truth,
expressing yourself in theworld, having boundaries,
expressing confidently, beingclear, concise, not peeking too
much either.

(14:08):
You know, you can be overactivein these chakras.
You can be too frickingcompassionate.
You can be too, um, expressive.
You can talk too much.
All these things.
So it's about.
Balanced, right?
Not too much, not too little.
That is the throat chakra, andit is blue as well.
Okay, so we're gonna go up to tothe next one, the third eye
chakra.

(14:29):
In between the brows, obviously, where the pla, obviously where
the placement is, right inbetween the brows.
You can tap there a little bitnow, just.
To awaken it.
This is all about intuition,okay?
And it's indigo.
The color is indigo.
It's indigo, it's indigo.
So intuition, and also very muchon a spiritual plane of
intuition.

(14:53):
I'm drinking coffee, please,excuse me.
Um, so really important chakra, one of my favorites.
It's about inner vision.
And so for years I didn't trustmy inner vision.
I won't go too much into this, but I talk about the.
It's a lot on the course.
Um, I think listening to thispodcast and embracing this part

(15:13):
of yourself is an example ofworking on that kind of third
eye chakra area, knowing thatthere's more, so seeing beyond
what's physically in front ofus, right?
Uh, that type of thing.
And then we're going up from thethird eye chakra to the final
chakra for the purposes of whatwe're doing here.
The crown chakra beautiful.

(15:34):
And it's purple.
Violet.
Some people also say white.
Some people say gold, but reallyit's violet.
And if you struggle to rememberthe colors, it's the colors of
the rainbow.
So it's red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
I think I got that right.
Uh, Roy de Biff.
Um, yes, the crown chakra.
It's all about the connection tothe divine, the connection, and

(15:57):
if you're not religious orspiritual in that sense,
connection to nature.
Connection to energy, connectionto the unseen.
Connection to awe.
So standing at the edge of theGrand Canyon, connecting with
the magic of the land that iscrown chakra energy.
But also you might have alreadynoticed if you're very astute,

(16:20):
uh, so crown chakra connectionto the bigger picture,
connection to God, whatever thatmeans to you.
Uh, so you may have alreadynoticed, and this is the thing I
want us to talk about, just to,just to bring this to.
Your attention.
'cause this starts to reallyland the chakras for me.
Each chakra.
So the heart is the middle, right?
And if we span outwards or gofrom top to bottom, the crown

(16:41):
chakra relates very much to theroot chakra.
Okay?
Con foot grounded the, and let'sgo down and up.
So the third eye chakra relatesvery much to the sacral chakra.
Yeah.
Trust your gut intuition.
And then let us go down and up.
One more.
So the, where are we at?
The throat chakra relates verymuch to the solar plexus chakra.

(17:05):
Yeah, I feel worthy and I canspeak up.
And then they all meet at theheart chakra, so that starts to
land the connection.
So we need our feet on theground in these earthly chakras,
but we also need to be lookingup at the sky and appreciating
the consciousness and thedivine.
So that is my little intro tochakras.
Um, I will post two books belowthat I love on the chakras.

(17:27):
Um, and my offer to you today ismy chakra.
Chris Healing Private Podcast.
It sold originally when I did itlive on a weekly release basis
with a WhatsApp group for 66pounds.
It's been on the site for awhile, for 22 pounds.
I don't promote it enough.
I don't sell it enough.
It's a really lovelyintroduction to spiritual work.
It's a lovely way to kind of getto know me and how I work.

(17:48):
Um, it's.
Got the biggest thing it's gotin there that I would say is
very practical ways for you tobalance each of these chakras,
like very grounded ways, including the food to eat, the
mantra, to say the, it is got ameditation on each one.
It's got journal notes on eachone.
It's got a cheat sheet todownload, so you can save that
to your phone and just be like, wait, which chakra is this

(18:09):
again?
Uh, it's got, it's everythingyou need to know to move
forward.
It's got crystalrecommendations, essential oils
also at the start of therecording, uh, in the back end
of the program.
There's a link to buy chakraoils as well, which you are.
I would love that if you didthat, you'd be my customer in
the oils, and I could advise youover WhatsApp voice notes
whenever and whatever you needto know about the oils.

(18:30):
That also comes with anessential oils for the chakras
PDF Guide as well.
Uh, and I am selling this atseven pounds, which is
ridiculous, but I just want toget this work out into the
world.
So go on to the Goddess Codes,uh, which, which the mini course
is called.
Page and enter in the CodeGoddess seven.

(18:51):
So Goddess All uppercase, nogaps.

22.
Pounds off, um, the currentpricing on that, and that will
mean that you can get the wholething for seven pounds.
So go ahead and enjoy theGoddess Codes course.
This is a bonus episode at theend of season one, just to wrap
it up.

(19:11):
Uh, and I will see you back herefor season two when I'm gonna be
talking all about the midlifeportal and emergence.
Okay?
The emergence of your nextiteration, your next best self,
spiritually.
Spiritually connected and thework that I'm doing and the
offerings that I have aroundthat.
