Rachel Brady's video (00:01):
Conscious but Grounded is a podcast about
spirituality, high vibe livingin the real world.
I ask questions like, how do weconnect to the magic?
The spirit, the source, theuniverse, but with our feet
firmly planted on the ground.
How do we show up in a consciousway and harness that to make
big, paradigm busting change inthe day to day of our lives?

(00:23):
I'm Rachel Brady, mum of three, yoga teacher and embodiment
coach.
This is the place where I'll bereflecting and exploring big,
deep questions, all with a pinchof self deprecation, a few
proper lols, and a lot of reallife.
Join me.
Hello there.
Welcome back to another episodeof Conscious But Grounded.

(00:46):
So, as ever, when it's just meon my own, I'm actually driving
to my yoga class.
Um, this appears to be a themethat, or, or dog walking.
I think there's something there.
Isn't there something in thosespaces where my brain has time
to process and space to process?
Um, and today I was thinking, doI want to record?

(01:09):
What would I record?
Uh, just to say as well what I,I'm really feeling into this
space still, and it's very mucha baby space still, even though
there's quite a lot of episodehere.
Um, what I want going forwardfor conscious but grounded is to
focus on guests.
So I will be popping in to dothese little chatty episodes so
that we can get to know eachother better, because I think if

(01:29):
it was purely all guests, youwouldn't get to know me very
well.
Um, and I, I'm veryself-critical and I am thinking,
oh, this is just me blatheringand talking.
But if you speak your truth andyou're.
Yourself, you'll, you'll, youknow, attract your soul tribe.
And so that's, that's my belief.
And so that's why I do thesemore chatty, um, you know,

(01:49):
chatty, how would I describethem?
I don't wanna be denigrating tomyself.
Chatty, exploratory, channeling,non-planned out, non note taken,
uh, conversations with you.
Well, it's not conversation, isit?
It's a one way monologue baby.
But, um, so what came to mindtoday was, um, a new part.

(02:10):
Of my business that I'mexploring and I've yet to put
up, um, on my website, but Iwill be incorporating it in my
business going forward.
I already have incorporated itactually is tarot.
Um, so if you don't know whattarot is, I'm, I'm sure most
people do.
It's, um, a card deck.

(02:30):
So, and it's a divination tool.
Um, so the most well known carddeck is the rider weight.
Card deck.
And that's quite famous.
It's, it's often depicted, youknow, as the card deck that
people use in tarot, in moviesand books and things like that.
And it's the classic one.

(02:52):
Um, and I have been learningthat card deck with my coach who
is coming on this podcast nextweek.
Actually, she'll probably be thenext episode that you hear after
this.
Karen, uh, Karen Jackson and I,I have taken her shamanic tarot
call.
Training course.
So before that, so I wanna makethe subject slightly wider than

(03:15):
tarot.
Um, in, maybe it's gonna be cooland maybe it's about something
like Oracle cards and tarot, because my journey with tarot
and with, you know, card decksas divination tools, and when I
say divination tools, I said itthe other day and someone said,
what does that mean?
Um, any tool that can help youcontact and, and channel the

(03:38):
divine, I guess.
Um, so I.
I don't necessarily use cards tolike tell the future, like that
is often depicted in movies.
That's not.
That's what I'll go on to talkabout today.
That's not how I use tarot orOracle.
Um, but first of all, I'll justtell you about my journey with
Oracle.
So I came across a guy calledKyle Gray.

(04:01):
In fact, I think I might havecome across his deck first.
I don't know why I bought hisdeck.
I can't remember why, but Ibought his deck and his deck.
It was called Angel, Oracle.
Um, I'm not sure what led me tothat.
I'll have to have a thinkactually.
I can't think what it was.
But anyway, I bought it probablyabout five years ago, something

(04:21):
like that, maybe less, maybethree or four years ago.
And if you see this deck, youwill see how much it's used.
Um, it's the front of, it'scompletely rubbed off, off the
box and it's called, yeah, angelOracle Deck.
And it's an incredible deck.
So I ordered.
It for whatever reason, Iprobably just thought, oh, that

(04:42):
looks nice.
I want, I want to get a deck.
Um, unless I heard him on apodcast or something, but I
think I, I think I discoveredhim after his deck, if that
makes sense.
Uh, so he's a young man, he'spsychic, he's, um, a kundalini
yogi and really he just comesacross as such a nice, genuine

(05:03):
guy whenever I've heard himsince on, on podcasts and so on.
Um, and I just loved this deck, and so I had a.
Next to my bed and for a goodfew years in my journey and my
healing journey and my spiritualjourney since my kind of
depression and, um, struggles,if you like.

(05:24):
When I turned about 40, I justhad this deck next to my bed
and, and I had this some kind ofroutine that looked like this.
It was like, write in my journaland, and I, I've gone through
stages of writing in my journalin a guided journal in a free
note.
Book, you know, empty pagejournal using the oils.

(05:44):
So I would traditionally justuse lavender or the Serenity
blend was just really nice.
Um, and then, uh, pulling a cardand do you know what it's making
me remember because I don't dothat anymore.
What a great nighttime routinethat was.
I think I'm gonna get back intothis routine and I think because
I've been searching so much, Ithink that's probably indicative

(06:06):
of why I don't do it anymore,because I feel less like I'm
desperately.
Searching.
But at the time, over a goodcouple of years, uh, my sobriety
journey was so on off, so onoff.
Don't get me wrong, it's notcompletely linear now, but the,
it was very like weekly on off, weekly on off.
You know, that, that bit moreinconsistent.

(06:29):
And then also relationshipchanges, um, mental health
struggles, definitely.
And, and like I've said before,I think perimenopause has played
a role in this too.
And, uh.
HD Uh, so at the time only newlydiagnosed and possibly other
things as well.
So I was really like, what isgoing on?

(06:51):
I was just finding myspirituality and I would pull a
card from the Angel, Oracledeck.
I will link to this below.
I've recommended this deck to somany people and, um, it's very
easy to understand.
I got to know it so well.
Um, I trust this deck so much.
Like if I have a day.
Treat or anything, I take thisdeck often.

(07:13):
Um, and like the other day I dida tarot reading for someone and
I pulled this as an extra cardfor her and it just rounded up
it.
Ra it's a great tool forrounding up a tarot reading like
as a bonus card at the end.
And it's beautiful and it's justgot so many different messages
in there.
Um, so it hasn't got angels assuch.

(07:36):
There's another deck he's donethat is all about individual
angels.
That's lovely as well.
But this deck has got, has got,um, an array of cards.
So it will say something likeExpect Miracles or it would say
there's actually a yes card anda no card.
So it's really clear and direct.
And then there's a card calledManifestation.
Then there's a card calledSpiritual Healing.

(07:57):
There's a card called InnerChild Work.
That card, the Inner Child work, led me to meet Bel Be Tron, who
I took her reparenting courseand then I ended up becoming
friends with her and she's myco-host on my retreat.
So.
It's let, this card deck has ledme down on wonderful avenues.
It's, it said yes, and it saidno at times when I didn't want

(08:17):
to hear it, but it was probablyright.
Um, it's a wonderful deck.
So that's how my journey withcards began.
And then I thought, you knowwhat?
I was working with Karen.
If Karen's offering somethingand it aligns with me, I will
generally take it.
She's one of those people forme.
She's one of my teachers.
And so Karen is a long timetarot card.

(08:40):
Reader and user, and she wasoffering this course, and I've
always wanted to do tarot, so Iordered the tarot.
I actually bought the tarotbefore I saw her course, I
think, and it just sat there.
And when, when I saw that shewas doing the course, I was
like, yes, I actually got atarot set.
So the way she trains us to usethis tarot is very much leaning

(09:09):
heavily on.
Your intuition.
So yes, you're gonna learn aboutthe major arcana and the minor
arcana.
You're going to learn about thekind of traditional meaning of
each card, but really what shewants to do is for you to take a
shamanic journey with each cardto explore its meaning for you.

(09:30):
Um, and so I'm still in theprocess of certification, which
is, I'm, I'm almost, I'm almostcertified.
I'm almost, I'm almost at theend and.
I've done a lot of readings nowand I've started to read for
people.
I gave the readings as a bonuson my, for people who buy my
seasonal day retreat.
So I'm gonna post that below andif you would like a reading, if

(09:52):
you book on my seasonal dayretreat, you can have a reading.
I do the readings on my own andthen I've, you, you tell me a
question you send me.
I like three card readings.
They're really nice and simple.
They're short and sweet, butthey, they also can tell you so
much and you can kind of.
Theme the questions and expandout.

(10:13):
So what I love about the threecard spread, um, is I'll say to
you, look, think about what'ssomething that's in your life
right now or a wider theme even, and send me three questions on
it or send me two.
And then the third one sayanything else.
And so I digest that question.
I clarify if I need it.
We do this all via voice note orWhatsApp.

(10:35):
And then I do the reading.
I get into a very centeredspace.
I sage, I have cacao.
I channel I look, I can look atan image of you if that helps
me.
I say your name many times.
I welcome in my guides.
I welcome in your guides.
I cleanse my deck.
I heavily cleanse my deck soit's not what my energy's all
over it.

(10:55):
Uh, and then I shuffle it veryheavily whilst I'm thinking and
meditating about you and yourquestion.
And then I do the reading, andthen I take notes on the reading
and what I do, and this is whereI'm at in my journey with tarot.
I trust.
My intuition.
So at the first, at first, andI've been told off by my, by my
coach for this, at first I wasreally struggling to remember

(11:18):
all the official meanings of thecard, and I was like, oh, I'm
not really sure.
I, because I was being socautious about what I, I.
Her about this card to mean andthen maybe getting it wrong and
it having an outcome on thatperson's life that I would back
it up with like some researchabout the actual meaning of the
card and things like that.
And I'm stepping away from thatas much as I can and really

(11:39):
trusting my intuition.
And so for me, cards are aboutintuition, and I guess that's
the main message of this.
Short podcast today is when Ipull a card and when you pull a
card.
What I would say to you, andespecially if you are in your
early days of your spiritualexploration cards are such a

(12:01):
lovely way to add into your.
Sader your spiritual practice, but also such a lovely way to
connect with your intuition.
Um, and so what I do is leaninto the meaning of the card.
Second, firstly, I lean with myintuition and I go, this card is

(12:24):
telling me yes, this card istelling me.
Take a minute before youproceed.
You know, this card is tellingme la la la.
And also it's very importanthere to say that I've started
using, I was struggling a littlebit with the'cause.
The ride of weight deck is an areally old deck, and as such,
it's not inclusive and as.

(12:45):
Such it's not easy for themodern eye to decipher.
It is nice to learn on thatdeck, but I've actually switched
out for the time being to a deckby Chris Ann called The Light
Oracle, and it's a tarot deck,so it has the minor arcana and
the major arana and it haseverything in it.
It's the same thing.

(13:05):
It is tarot.
Um.
And so I use that deck at theminute and it's really helping
me get less bogged down in thetraditional meaning of this
tarot card, like roboticreading, which you could do
yourself on Google.
Um, you know, anyone could justgo like this, I filled this
card.

(13:26):
What does it mean that, that'salmost like outsourcing your
intuition.
And my coach actually told meoff when I was trying to.
Um, go through the certificationprocess.
She was like, I feel like youare leaning on that too.
Um, still too much.
So really go with yourintuition.
And honestly, my intuition hasnever failed me in terms of, I'm

(13:47):
talking about psychic intuitionhere, but intuition to me is
psychic.
I believe we are.
All psychic, we just haven't alltapped into it.
Um, so I will get hits, uh,whether it's a vision, whether
it's picking up on card, on, onparts of the image, in the card.
I will be like, I don't know ifthis is relevant, but this is

(14:08):
coming through a lot for me.
Maybe this idea.
And I'm very, very.
Careful.
Very, very careful.
And this is a big skill initself.
Very careful.
When I give my reading, I don'ttell anybody what to do.
And I always end with, remember, you're gifted free will.
That's the whole point of thehuman existence is to have free
will make choices, makemistakes, learn, keep exploring,

(14:32):
keep growing.
Um, you can do whatever youwant.
And I don't, I very much avoidyes, no, like this, I'm kind of,
I'll come back with a question.
Uh, and so I really, what I'mdoing is reflecting back what's
coming through for me so thatthey, just, like in a coaching
session, they're gonna come upwith the answer.

(14:53):
Um, I've mentioned a couple oftimes, the major and minor, so
I'll just briefly say what theyare.
So.
Uh, a tarot deck, um, has themajor arcana, and that's the
different cards, like you willprobably know, like the lover,
the fool, the empress, uh, andthey are major life themes.

(15:14):
Um, and then there's the minorarcana, and there's much, much,
much more of those.
So each, there's four suites, soeach of the suites represents
different things.
So pentacles cups, wands, andswords.
And for example, Pentaclesrepresents cup.
Of abundance, wealth, finances, things like that.
Uh, and cops, cops is like, um,relationships and love and

(15:37):
things like that.
And so we know that there's,there's a whole suite.
It's almost like a normal set ofcars.
There's like the, the numbersand then the royal, you know,
the ace, the queen, king and soon.
And so each of those cards inthe minor arcana is more to do
with.

(15:58):
The, what's up for you rightnow?
And a major arcana card is likea wider life theme.
Okay?
So you might be pulled, I mightpull the Hierophant for you.
And that's like, you're aspiritual leader.
You're a spiritual teacher.
That's like, um, a wider lifetheme.
But then you might be pulled, Idon't know, the seven of swords.

(16:23):
And that can mean that, uh, youhave your blinkers on and you've
got a decision to make, butsomeone might be kind of
somebody or something in yourlife, maybe something to watch
out for.
But again, it, it depends.
Another person might read thatcard and read it differently.

(16:44):
And then of course, you have theelements of, is the card.
Upside down.
Um, so if the card is upsidedown or reversed as it's
sometimes referred to, then thathas a different meaning that
what I read then is that it'sthe meaning of the card.
So I'll talk about the meaningof the card and what I'm getting
and it's reversed.
So it's the shadow of that card.

(17:06):
Okay.
So it.
It can be quite complicated andit's definitely been a learning
curve and I'm still leaning intoit.
And, and as such, it won't be afull part of my business yet
until I'm really, really, reallyfine tuning my, uh, skills.
But I'm loving offering it, um,because I feel like I am deeply
intuitive and really good atreading.

(17:28):
Um, so I'm offering it as anoffer, uh, as a bonus when you
buy a day retreat with me andalso, and that's what I want.
Say on this podcast, I'm reallynew to the podcasting game and
so I really need to gain sometraction with this podcast.
And the only way to do that toget picked up by the algorithm
and shared and so on is if Ihave reviews.

(17:50):
So I know it is such a pain inthe ass leaving your review.
So if you've listened to this.
Episode and you would like a onecard reading.
Um, send me leave a review.
Please make it a five starreview.
That would help me immensely.
Uh, leave a few words and thenscreenshot that and send it to

(18:11):
me at Rachel Brady Yoga on.
Or hello at Rachel Brady Yoga, and I will come back to you with
a, well come send me and send mea question.
Um, and I would love to add abonus card on there for you as
well.
And I, I always do that.
So, um, so I will spend timetraveling.
I won't just pick a cardquickly.
I'll really do a deep readingfor you, which is why I'm

(18:33):
offering a one card, not a threecard, because it's, this is a
free offer, but I want to godeep with that.
So, um.
I wanna spend some time thinkingabout the question that you send
me, so please do that for me.
And I would love to really honemy skills.
And I would say to you, if youare interested in this, um, in

(18:55):
this skillset, I would say gobuy a Oracle card set first.
Getting to the Oracle cards andeveryone is drawn to different
Oracle cards.
So I've had, I've got quite alot of packs of Oracle cards,
one or two.
Of them.
I'm like, no, this isn't for me.
I, I didn't open it in the shopand I shouldn't have bought it
and I'm gonna give it to someoneDidn't resonate with me.

(19:18):
And other ones are like, justbattered old favorites and they
are just used continually.
So I would say go to a shop oronline, have a look what's drawn
to you.
Get into the Oracle cards first, and then I'll leave the link
below as well for, for Karen'snext intake for the course.
Shamanic Tarot.
I've mentioned it to a fewpeople and they've said, I would
love to do that.
Like what's the, what's thelink?

(19:39):
So I'm gonna leave.
That below and I would love itso much if you did that for me,
it would mean so much.
It would help me so much becauseI'm recording these podcasts and
I'm being a bit shy aboutsharing it.
And so I feel like if it wouldgain that little bit of traction
and, and kind of be picked up alittle bit more by the algorithm
and that would help meenormously.
So thank you so much.

(20:00):
I love you and have a beautifulday.
Bye.
