Ever notice how easy it is to hand your power to “experts” and how hard it is to trust the quiet voice inside? We’ve both lived that tug-of-war, and we’re pulling back the curtain on what it actually takes to hear your intuition and act on it. From a cross-country move that only made sense in hindsight to a tech platform decision that turned into a bottleneck, we break down why outside advice is useful but never a substitute for your inner authority.

We explore the everyday practices that make self-trust tangible: walk-and-talks to clear mental noise, journaling to surface truth, and simple heart-focused breathing to drop from analysis into felt clarity. We also tackle the culture of quick fixes, from diet wars to GLP meds, and how outsourcing decisions can erode confidence. Instead, learn to pair expert input with your own signals so your choices fit your life, not someone else’s template.

We bring a spiritual lens too, reflecting on heart intelligence, faith, and the difference between ego and inner wisdom. Delays, cancellations, and detours can be protection or redirection when you learn to read synchronicity without forcing control. By the end, you’ll have a simple toolkit for building self-trust through small daily reps, so the big decisions feel lighter and clearer. If you’re ready to stop second-guessing and start leading with your own wisdom, this conversation will meet you where you are and nudge you forward.

SPEAKER_01 (01:01):
Ooh.

SPEAKER_00 (01:03):
Well, and honestly, I mean, you guys know at this
point, all of our topics comefrom inspiration based on our
own lives or talking to peopleor talking to clients.
Um yeah, no different here.
Like just listening to Denise.
If you guys could only hear ourWhatsApp thread, um, she'll
leave me messages, I'll leaveher messages, and I was like,

(01:25):
hmm, trusting yourself.
Like, I don't think people dothat enough.
And yeah, you started to saysomething.
Oh, they don't.
Well, if you were like, oh, weshould record because we have so
many thoughts coming to us.
And we did.
Right.

SPEAKER_02 (01:37):
I know.
I'm telling you, we shoulddefinitely start turning these
um WhatsApp voice messages intopodcast episodes because
sometimes we're like going onand on, and it's um, and then
sometimes it's like end up beingat 10 minutes.
That's a perfect 10-minutepodcast episode.
Um, yeah, I was saying before wehit record that we don't trust
ourselves enough because alsothe world had had taught us and

(02:00):
the chaos had taught us not to,right?
To rely on the people on socialmedia, and oh, she has or he has
1 million followers, then I needto listen to that person, right?
And then we jump into to theother, and again to the podcast,
and then to the books, and andI'm not saying all of these, I

(02:20):
mean, all these are amazingtools, right, that you and I
utilize as well, but I feel thatwe are constantly relying on
others to tell us what to dobecause we truly don't trust
ourselves enough.
We kind of if not turned it off, really lowered it down.
So, uh, so I think that that's agreat topic.

(02:42):
It could relate to previoustopics we talked about.
They all relate, but they do,but it's it's it's really
important to to start practicingthat, right?
Sometimes what I try to do isinstead of asking for advice, I
try to, you know, take somewalking time or some uh walk and

(03:04):
talk.
Remember, I love that the walkand talk, which is also like
this is basically a prayersaying, you know, praying out
loud and uh or journal about itor something.
And if it's still I'm stillindecisive, um, I may, you know,
ask somebody, but then sometimeswhat I notice, I don't know if
you have noticed, is that whenyou take someone else's advice,

(03:24):
it's sometimes based on theirexperience, and then you try it
and you're like, you go back andyou're like, darn it, why didn't
I go with what I wanted to do?
Yep.

SPEAKER_00 (03:33):
Or what your intuition told me.
And that's the thing, like, you're right, there's societal
conditioning, there's childhoodbeliefs and stuff that we're
told there's religion, like, tack it all in, but even the
business world.
So I've shared this with you.
I've hired so many businessmentors over the years, like,
they've got to tell me what todo, but it wasn't always what

(03:55):
felt right to me.
And my intuition was telling meto do something else, but
they're like, no, I'm theexpert, so follow me.
And it never worked out for me.
Like it truly did not work outbecause I was not trusting
myself.
And I think that's the thing, issometimes we'll hear that other
little voice, right?
You got the angel and the devilon your shoulders.
It's like I would hear one ofthem, and then the other one

(04:18):
would be like, oh, no, no,someone knows better than you
do.
Um, I want to share a story, andI bet you have one too.
But I don't think I've sharedthis on the podcast, and
sometimes it helps people like,oh my gosh, I didn't think about
that.
So when I'm also saying trustyourself, any of those crazy
ideas that come to you is what Imean.
Because sometimes we'll pushthem aside and be like, no,

(04:40):
that's a crazy idea.
So when we lived in Las Vegas,we thought we were ready to
move.
Like my husband woke up one day, literally had a dream, and was
like, I think it's time to go.
And I trusted him.
For some reason, my intuitionwas like, I think you're right.
And we didn't necessarily wantto leave.
Like we had good friends, weloved our house, like there was
nothing wrong with Vegas, but itdid feel like, hmm, we're being

(05:03):
pulled to something else.
And we loved Boise.
Like there was something aboutBoise.
We flew there, we visited forseveral days, we fell in love
with it, we got on the plane, and I actually got emotional
when we left.
And I was like, this is sostrange.
Like, why am I getting emotionalleaving?
Well, then we put our house onthe market, it's not selling.

(05:24):
And every other house in theneighborhood is selling like hot
cakes.
And we had it priced right, wehad a pool, we had a hot tub.
We're like, come on, like oursis updated.
This doesn't, it should havebeen like gone in a week.
We hit 30 days, and I'm like, this is ridiculous.
Like, why isn't our houseselling?
And so I woke up one morning andI said to my husband, what if

(05:44):
we're not supposed to go toBoise?
And he's like, What?
We love Boise.
I'm like, what if those tearswere me understanding that it
wasn't our time?
We talked about Austin 10 yearsago.
What if we're supposed to gosomewhere like Austin?
And of course, anyone else wouldbe like, You are batshit insane.
Like, what do you mean?
You have this plan, you'realready looking at schools for

(06:06):
your son.
And I was like, No, likesomething is telling me
intuition, divine guidance, Ihave no idea.
But something's telling me we'renot supposed to go to Boise
right now.
And so then I said to him, if weget an offer on the house in the
next 24 hours, we're supposed togo to Austin.
And we got three offers on thehouse.

(06:26):
And here we are in Austin, andit was where we were supposed to
come.
There's a prime example oftrusting yourself.
If I had listened to that othervoice or any other sane person,
they would have been like, What?
No, like either don't leave, you're not supposed to leave,
that's why the house hasn'tsold, or no, you were already
planning on boise, go there.
Like, why would you switch gearsand go over here?
And it worked out because Itrusted myself.

SPEAKER_02 (06:48):
Yeah, exactly.

unknown (06:50):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (06:52):
I don't know if you shared that before, but it's
really cool stories.
I don't think I did.
Yeah, but it's I love it, andI'm sure everybody has stories.
And if you look back, you havethe stories of the good and the
bad.
Yours, the synchronicities weregreat, but then I mean, I'm
gonna give a quick example.
I'm not saying a story, but I'mgonna give the opposite side
where I didn't um trust myselfor went with the obvious, and I

(07:17):
went with somebody that knewsomething, and I'm I'm
regretting it right now becauseit's just stopping me, and I was
like, I have to learn YouTube.
So, um, anyway, so here's thething I stopped doing MailChimp
because remember how you and Iwere doing the email list and
stuff like that, and then Itransitioned to just fully
focusing on my so putting thehealth coaching business on the

(07:38):
side and fully focusing on umthe speech therapy.
So, what I did is I was like,I'm not gonna do anything with
WordPress, like screw this, I'mjust gonna do like a quick
weebly website because I alreadyhad like the domain and
everything.
So I did that, and that wasgreat.
It was working fine.
I didn't want to collect becauseas you know with speech therapy,
uh it's really in demand.

(07:58):
So, like, there are therapistswho have wait lists and stuff
like that.
So I didn't really need toadvertise, I don't need to
collect a mailing list, which Iprobably want to, I should
marketing-wise, but I I haven't.
So I was you know, debatinggoing with Kajabi because you
know Kajabi, and I was like, Oh,Kira knows Kajabi, and then

(08:21):
you've been doing it, blah blahblah blah blah blah.
But then I had somebody elsetell me, oh, do Kartra, because
I know Kartra and stuff likethat, which was great.
So she helped me, you know, transfer the website, do all
that, but then now all of asudden she's extremely busy, and
now I need to freaking learnKartra.
You don't know Kartra, because Ithought in my mind, like had I

(08:42):
gone with Kajabi, you knowKajabi, I would have asked you
like this, this, and this.
I'm not saying that's gonna behard to learn it, but it's a
like bang in the ass right nowbecause she's extremely busy and
I don't want to have to likewait, which is which is fine.
I'm so happy for her, but Idon't want to have to wait
months and months and months.
So now it's like darn it, now Ihave to either find a VA that

(09:03):
knows Kartra, so I can because Ihad the idea of you know putting
a PDF for just like a quickspeech stuff and whatever, and
then start collecting emails.
And so yeah, that's the anexample of when I just went with
somebody else's experiencebecause she loves Kartra, she
makes money through affiliatemarketing through Kartra, she's

(09:24):
been doing Kartra forever.
And however, now when you lookat all of the websites and all
of the courses, they're donethrough Kajabi, and you know it.
And you, which my friend, thatyou and I are in constant in
touch, where I could be like, hey, I'm stuck on here.
You could guide me because youknow it, right?
So now it's like, so yeah, so wewant you to think of not just

(09:47):
examples where you know youlisten to your intuition and it
synchronized beautifully, likeyours.
Also think of those instanceswhere you're like, you went back
and you said, Darn it, I wentwith that person's experience
and it's different than mine.
And sometimes I don't know ifyou notice, but because you and
I have increased our awarenessso much, when someone is giving
me advice, whether I ask for itor not, I can see how it's a

(10:11):
projection of their experiences, and I'm constantly like I try to
avoid giving advice and tipsbecause especially about
relationships, because right nowI'm I'm in the midst of it.
So I'm like definitelyprojecting.
So, like yesterday I was talkingto a friend, and I'm like, I had
like I was like, oh shit, likeI'm projecting and I need to
kind of stop.
So um, but yeah, so it's reallyimportant to we're not saying

(10:36):
not to ask.

SPEAKER_00 (10:37):
Yeah, there's a difference, there's a difference
between asking for help andsaying, hey, I would love some
feedback, but also as you'reasking for help, listen to
yourself, trust yourself.
And like you said, look at thegood and the bad.
I can almost guarantee thateveryone that sits and says,
Okay, when I trusted myself, didit work out?
And when I didn't trust myself, did it not work out?

(10:59):
And we can use that with healthagain too.
For those that are like, I don'tknow, I just keep hiring people
and they need to tell me what todo.
At some point, you also have totrust yourself.

SPEAKER_02 (11:09):
Right, absolutely.
And then, yeah, take someoneelse's advice, but don't take it
as the Bible, like don't take itas written in stone.
Go on your walk, do yourjournaling about it.
And if if even if it's like anamazing person and that advice
or whatever they did worked forthem, but your God and your in
your your intuition is tellingyou not to, then your intuition

(11:30):
is the one to go with.
You know what I mean?
Consider it.
So exactly, consider that tip, consider that advice, and but if
so many things are saying no,then most likely go with you
know, trust yourself, and justlike what we say with
everything, everything ispractice.
So you may not, you know, have alot of trust in yourself at this

(11:54):
moment, but the more that youyou practice, the more it gets
better and better and better.

SPEAKER_00 (12:01):
Yeah, well, and that's the thing.
When your intuition is speakingto you, but your 3D mind, your
ego, that that devil on yourshoulder overrides it, you're
messing with that connection toyour soul, right?
Like then we're blockinghealing, we're blocking
creativity, we're blockingabundance, we're blocking
relationships, like all of thosethings.

(12:22):
So trusting yourself is soimportant.
And I actually have a quote, youyou know, Kathy, Kathy Heller,
Denise, and I really like her.

SPEAKER_02 (12:31):
We love her.

SPEAKER_00 (12:31):
Yeah, she had a quote.
Um, and it's we have to have thecourage to let go of everything
that the world tells us we needto do.
That one was so powerful for me.
Letting go of everything theworld tells us we need to do.
And that's the thing.
Like, we're giving you somerandom examples of like, you
know, moving cross country andum Gajabi and Kartra, but like

(12:55):
there can be so many instanceswhere you look at your life and
you're like, okay, am I onlydoing something because someone
else told me or some you know, social media says to do this
versus what do I feel?
And I mean, diets right now isthe prime example.
Like, how do all thesecarnivore, vegan, um, like, you

(13:16):
know what I mean?
There's so many different dietsand people.

SPEAKER_02 (13:19):
And all these people losing weight on the whatever
they're not doing it.

SPEAKER_00 (13:22):
The GLP.
Yeah, they're not doing itbecause they trust themselves,
they're they're putting theirtrust completely in someone.

SPEAKER_02 (13:28):
Absolutely, absolutely.
And I have to give that examplethat we're not gonna name the
person, but that person willconstantly keep saying, I lost
70 pounds by releasing uhtrauma.
Well, honey, no, you were usingthe GLP.
So, you know, maybe you releasetrauma, absolutely, but don't
associate that with this, like, don't confuse that, right?
So um, that's a little bit of arant.

(13:49):
I'm like it's on Facebook andshe's saying all that, and I'm
like, okay, great.
Um, which is great for you.
However, uh, yeah, you're nottrusting yourself with this one,
you're not trusting that yourbody can can balance, you know,
by giving it what you need.
And I mean, we may we may needsome assistance.
I don't know.
I I don't know.
I don't know.

(14:10):
Much about this yet.

SPEAKER_00 (14:12):
But again, are you trusting yourself or do you just
throw in the towel and say, Idon't, my body doesn't know what
to do.
Somebody else.

SPEAKER_02 (14:20):
I think I think when you are using that, you are not
trusting yourself.
Like, I mean, I think you areyou are outsourcing this and you
want something real quick, andyou're like, you know, let me
lose that whatever pounds I needto lose.
But then what what is that doingis that you're relying on it,
and then what's gonna happenafter?
What's gonna happen in a yearand two, three, four, five.

(14:40):
So uh where but when we trustourselves with our health and
with the food that we put in andwith the thoughts, with the
thoughts that we put in in ourmind, because I love what you
mentioned the other day onFacebook with the quote, like,
what was your quote?
Something about like um I havetoo many quotes that the
thoughts that you the thoughtsthat you're feeding your mind
are creating the disease.

(15:01):
You know what I mean?
It could it's it's probablyoverriding the food that you're
eating.
It is so um, right.
So it's really, really importantto just also recognize that, you
know, like do I want to rely onthis pill or on the it's an
injection, right?
And um to help to help to assistme, but then what's gonna who's
gonna assist me later?

(15:22):
Yeah, because that pill and thatthe injection or the
supplements, whatever, is notgonna assist you all the time.
So um supplemental or aband-aid, you know.
Right, but then but then thatband-aid is becoming permanent,
not temporary, it's no longer aband-aid anymore.

(15:44):
Yeah, right, and it's witheverything, it's not just with
like I mean, same thing with nottrusting ourselves with um, you
know, with our everything, relationships, money, career,
children.
Um yeah, I was gonna saysomething, and I totally like
when because you when youmentioned Kathy, Heller, I

(16:08):
thought of something.
Oh, let me bring it back to umhow we grew up because you and I
grew up in um Catholics, and Ido remember, I don't know who
said it, I don't know where Iheard it, whether it was at a
mass, whether it was because Iwent to Catholic school, or you
know, because we also had so inwhen you attend Catholic school,

(16:31):
you also have at least an hourof catechism every day, and then
you go to mass every week.
So, and I remember, and we usedto have also the spiritual
retreats.
So I heard it somewhere is thatGod or Jesus is always in your
heart talking to you, but you'rethe one not listening.

(16:52):
So if you are a Christian or youknow and believe in in Jesus,
obviously, just and or God, justthink of that like God is always
talking to you, which is yourintuition and which is your Holy
Spirit, but a lot of the timeswe're not listening because we
are listening to the othernoise.

SPEAKER_00 (17:09):
Yeah.
When in reality we should betrusting, and you know, it's
funny because now I'm going backto Kathy, but she had said
something the other day tooabout like everything we have we
need, it's within us.
If we would just trust andlisten, but the problem is we
push that aside.
Like, no, no, no, you know, thewhole Jesus take the wheel.
No, no, no, you don't take thewheel, I'll take the wheel.

(17:31):
And that's the problem.
We don't know better.
There is some type of higherpower, whatever you believe in.

SPEAKER_02 (17:37):
Start to trust, start and trust your heart, not
your mind.
Because Kathy said it on herpodcast too, and now it's tying
into God is in your heart orJesus in your heart, whatever
you believe in.
Because she said that there wasa study or an experiment on
monks, and they tested theirbrain activity, and there was uh
low brain activity or somethinglike that, but the activity was

(18:00):
in the heart.
It was the recent podcastepisode she has.
So, and a lot of you know, whether it's Joe Dispenza or a
lot of these people, um, DavidGuillaume, Kathy, they're
talking about relying on yourheart.
So it's the e the mind comes, the the ego is in the mind, and
but when you are listening toyour heart is where your message

(18:23):
is, is where God, your divine,is talking to you.
So turning up the volume onthat, and now it makes sense
when it says Jesus in yourheart, you're not listening
because you're listening to yourmind.

SPEAKER_00 (18:35):
Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02 (18:35):
That 3D ego.

SPEAKER_00 (18:36):
And the thing is, is like you said too, it's like
people view it as um selfish orgreedy, but you just said it.
What do I want?
The heart is asking for love.
What would light me up?
So that's the thing.
When you go into these littlesituations or big situations of
like, you know, where do I wantto move to?

(18:57):
Relationship, whatever, whatfeels really good?
You know, like that's youranswer.
What lights you up?
Your intuition is gonna guideyou on that.
I don't know.
There's just so much I could sayabout this.

SPEAKER_02 (19:11):
Absolutely.
I mean, it absolutely, I mean, for me, I'm gonna give that
example about my relationship, and my heart was telling me a
while back not to stay, not tostay.
But what was I doing?
I was rationalizing it with mymind, right?
I was not trusting myself untilI until the noise of my soul
became so loud because it alwaysstarts because before I didn't

(19:33):
understand, I would listen topeople and say, Oh, it starts
with a whisper, starts with thewhisper, it's a symptoms of the
body until it's a scream, andI'm like, What do they mean by
that?
What do I mean by that?
But it truly is a whisperbecause your heart and your soul
are very gentle and kind, however, until you ain't
listening, and it becomesreally, really loud.

(19:56):
And and now I see I keep goingback to like, oh my goodness, I
wish I had done this sooner.
However, I always have to remindmyself that I am on this
journey, my soul chose thisjourney.
What a gift.
I learned that from DavidGuillaume.
What a gift.
Instead of like dwelling andregretting, I'm exactly where I
need to be at this time.

(20:16):
I trust where I am, I accept it,and instead of just kind of like
regretting, because there's nopoint in regretting, my soul
chose this path for a reason, soI'm just gonna surrender that
and trust it versus having toargue with it.
You know what I mean?
Of course, my human experiencesometimes does argue with it,
however, I have been pullingmyself out of it really fast

(20:39):
with the walking, with thebreathing, with just everything
that the resources that you andI have been using, and so I
really cannot stress thisenough.
Like seriously, seriously, seriously, utilize those tools
on a daily basis because it willincrease your awareness and it
they will start working, theywill start working, and you will

(21:00):
start understanding what we'retalking about or what other
people are talking about.
Because sometimes it used to belike foreign language, like a
carto lay stuff were freakingforeign language to me.

SPEAKER_00 (21:10):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (21:10):
Until they became like, wait a minute, he needs
this, he means that.

SPEAKER_00 (21:15):
Yeah, when you're ready, and that's the thing.
We give you all these tools.
I'm gonna throw another one inthere too.
Just when you're trying to makea decision, I don't care if it's
a decision about dinner, adecision about, you know,
whatever, like any type ofdecision, this is good practice
for you to take a deep breath, put your hand on your heart and

(21:36):
go, what feels good?
What feels expansive, whatlights me up?
That's what you go with.
That's your intuition.
And that's gonna help you whenyou get to the really big things
of like, oh my gosh, like Idon't know, I'm making a
checklist and I'm doing this.
No, no, no, no.
That's the 3D, that's the ego.
Feel into the heart, take thatdeep breath.
What feels good?

(21:56):
What feels expansive, whatlights me up?

SPEAKER_02 (21:58):
And just sometimes at the delays, I want to give
quick examples.
Just that the delays and thecancellations are working out
for you so many times.
Can't clients cancel, and thenlater on I realize that wait a
minute, I needed to be with mydaughter here, hence that's why
the client canceled, or thedelay and like being late, for
example, to dropping her off orsomething, and it was it

(22:21):
completely worked out becauseyou know this happened, and then
you start seeing thesynchronicities.
So when I started seeing insteadof getting so upset at the
delays and the cancellations,I'm pausing and saying, What a
gift, they still it's becauseyour your soul is interfering
with those delays andcancellations or whatever
happening, the the the um themishaps or the the things that

(22:43):
are just kind of like not partof your plan, they work out so
well when you see them as a giftbecause you see, like, oh, had
my client not canceled, I wouldnot have been able to attend
this, for example.

SPEAKER_00 (22:58):
And maybe that needs to be an episode of just not
even trusting, but like Yeah, Iknow it should be an episode,
huh?
I know, like the ever lettingletting go and trusting that
everything that happens isserving a much better purpose.
Absolutely.
We can do that next week.
Yeah, we can, I mean, we have atopic.
This is a topic.
You guys see how our brainswork.
Um, did you have, I know you'vebeen doing like affirmations.

(23:21):
Did you want to do that?

SPEAKER_02 (23:23):
I do, yeah.
We can end with uh we we can endwith just a few breaths and our
mantra affirmation for today.
I have been liking the winthose.
So uh if you're driving, do notclose your eyes, please.

SPEAKER_01 (23:38):

SPEAKER_00 (25:03):
