TRY AGAIN ... mediatate on Matthew 6:33 ... seek ye first the KINGDOM of heaven ... imagine contemplating an eternity of the source of all love and perpetual forgiveness ... a love supreme exemplified by God sending his ONLY Son and Jesus's death, descent in Hell and then victorious return from all evil, to give US the example of Resurrection and continuous creation ... try again to imagine the most ideal, most perfect state of LOVE. TRY AGAIN!
The Creator entering creation ... the Creator of Time actually entering the time-constrained facet of physical reality to spend time with us and then descend and walk through Hell in order to emerge victorious and give us back our souls ... the Creator entering creation; the Creator of Time squeezing back inside the time He created ... to give us eternity to contemplate love, mercy and forgiveness.
There is no greater love.
Listen, there's this love, man—
Not the Hollywood kind, not the greeting card type,
But a love so vast it bent the universe,
A Father sending His only begotten into the void.
*[bass begins, low and resonant]*
The squares call it sacrifice,
But dig—it's more like cosmos-shattering surrender,
The Creator entering creation,
Infinity pouring itself into finite flesh.
*[piano enters with suspended chords]*
The Son walked our broken streets,
Touched our leprous souls,
Then descended—can you dig it?—
All the way down into the pit.
*[saxophone enters with mournful, searching phrases]*
Down past the last subway stop,
Beyond the final basement,
Into Hell's deepest chamber,
Where forgiveness has never been spoken.
*[drums with mallets, like distant thunder]*
And there, in that midnight zone,
Where even angels fear to whisper,
He planted the flag of forgiveness,
An eternal pardon that echoes backward and forward.
*[all instruments build tension]*
Then the resurrection, daddy-o!
Not just a man beating death,
But creation itself being recreated,
The cosmos getting a second chance.
*[trumpet enters with bright, ascending lines]*
This Kingdom is that love in motion,
That forgiveness becoming atmosphere,
That resurrection becoming reality,
That eternity touching time.
*[saxophone and trumpet trade phrases]*
Perfect love that doesn't just forgive once,
But exists in perpetual forgiveness,
A love that isn't just kind sometimes,
But IS kindness without beginning or end.
*[piano plays block chords with increasing intensity]*
The Kingdom is where rebels find home,
Where the broken find wholeness,
Where death becomes doorway,
Where endings transform to beginnings.
*[full ensemble swells]*
It's the most solid reality, man,
More real than concrete beneath your feet,
More enduring than mountains,
More permanent than your pain.
*[instruments reach peak intensity]*
Can you taste it? This wild perfection?
This love beyond comprehension?
This mercy that outlasts memory?
This grace that outshines galaxies?
*[sudden drop to just bass and soft piano]*
The Kingdom isn't coming someday,
It's breaking through right now,
In the space between your heartbeats,
In the pause between your thoughts.
*[instruments fade except for piano]*
Seek first this love supreme,
This forgiveness that creates worlds,
This Kingdom where everything broken
Is forever made new.
*[final piano chord, sustained and luminous]*
