In this solo episode we explore our relationship with uncertainty and why embracing the unknown is essential for personal growth and freedom. Trusting life's uncertainty requires integrating body, mind, and soul while releasing our need for control.

And that’s the point. Midlife is your time to take the wheel, even if you only see a few kilometers ahead. It's about reclaiming your power, letting go of the noise, and coming back home to your body, mind, and soul

In This Episode, You’ll Hear

  • Why everything is unknown—and why that’s where the magic lives
  • Our bodies as messengers: understanding physical pain as emotional or spiritual signals
  • A potent reminder that you are not your thoughts—you are the observer
  • Integration of body, mind and soul builds natural trust in life's uncertainties
  • The paradox of expectation + equanimity: setting the vision, then releasing the grip
  • Daily opportunities for magic when we release control and embrace curiosity

Reflection Questions

1. Where in your life are you gripping for control—and what might shift if you softened your hold?

2. What story has been playing on repeat in your mind that you now realize isn’t even yours?

3. What would shift in your day if you trusted your body and intuition to guide you?

Let this episode land in your heart, beauty. And remember: life is a rollercoaster. But you’re not here to be tossed around—you’re here to enjoy the ride, laugh, cry, feel, and fly. 🦋💫

reinvasion, moves With a burningdesire for freedom, joy and
solid living.

(00:22):
She feels the pull to rise, tofly.
She is no longer afraid of herown wings.
Welcome back to the MidlifeButterfly Podcast.
This is Kena, your host, andeven though I have prepared a
topic for this recording of thisepisode by the way, it's 11.11

(00:47):
where I am now yes, it's calledCo-Influence my soul for some
reason is guiding me tosomething different.
What's going to be?
I don't know.
If you want to stay here withme, you're more than welcome.
That will be great.
Let's see what it flows, andI'm going to start by saying I

(01:13):
was just reflecting on my own.
I was in a master classyesterday and we're talking
about audacity and aboutuncertainty and the unknown.
And then this morning I gotdropped to to listen to a
podcast episode of Jody Spencerand also he was talking about

(01:33):
certainty and I was justreflecting.
Reflecting about that, like howmuch time and effort and energy
we spend in limiting beliefsand programs that most of them

(01:54):
there have been putting onto us,you know, culture, society,
parents, etc.
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.
That doesn't allow us to trust,to be open to that unknown,
when the reality is everything.

(02:17):
Everything is unknown isunknown.
Go back to this week, like Ihad an expected visit from a
friend and then we went rockclimbing and we have so much fun

(02:38):
and the conversation flew sonicely.
You know, and I guess when weare just expecting or not
expecting anything no bettersaid when we're expecting
something it doesn't happen, then we get frustrated or you

(03:03):
know, or mad about it because ofthat expectation that we had.
But it's because we don't, evenwe have the expectation, we
don't let it go and let it flowas the universe wants it to work

(03:24):
, right, we try to control it.
But then when we one of thethings that I was listening to,
joe dispensa, and one of thethings that resonated a lot with
me, because, to tell you thetruth, I don't I better say I
didn't like having expectations, and this happened because I

(03:53):
didn't want it to getdisappointed right, either by
others or, at the same time, even with me, with having the
expectation of something that Iam responsible for it.
If I don't put that expectationand if it doesn't happen, then
it's okay Between quotes, because we just let it be, but

(04:21):
at the end we didn't take thatinspired action that it will
actually get us to achieve thatexpectation and shifting it to
having that expectation.
What it creates?
It's exactly that.

(04:41):
It creates that inspired actionbecause we are expecting
something to happen.
At the same time, what we'vegot to do is let it be, allow it
that if it happens, it's okay, and if it doesn't happen, it's

(05:04):
okay.
Okay too, coming back to thatequanimity, right.
So how good are you areexpecting something and release
it at the same time.
I mean releasing the outcome, right, and at the same time,

(05:31):
then taking that inspire action, because that's the fun part is
the journey itself.
So what do you do to get there, you know, to achieve that goal,
that dream, to even just checkthat task out of your agenda.

(06:01):
And I want to come back to theunknown because I don't know,
for some reason now, like mybody is still processing that
and that's what I feel the callto speak it out, even though I
don't know exactly what is goingto come through.

(06:21):
What I can tell is that weusually don't trust that unknown
, that uncertainty, because ourmind goes back and looks for

(06:47):
evidence of what it has happenedbefore.
And by going there, by doingthat, the only thing we are
actually creating is limitwithin ourselves, because our

(07:09):
mind, by trying to protect us,because it's a protective
mechanism, like saying, hey, you're safe here, I know you
want something else, but thatisn't safe.
We don't know what's going tohappen and we already have this
evidence.
So why would you like to?
To go farther, right, but it'sabout being able to have that

(07:35):
awareness of well, first of all,not how the mind works a bit,
and it's like what I just toldyou.
It wants to keep us safe and,at the same time, when having
that awareness, still taking thestep, still taking that action

(07:57):
that is necessary, and to tellthat self doubt, that fear, that
fear you know to say, yes, Ihear you, I feel you and I
appreciate you for trying toprotect me, but we need to move

(08:17):
forward.
I really want to achieve thisdream, this goal, in my life.
So you are welcome to come withme, but you got to take the
back seat.
I'm taking the wheel in here.
I'm taking the wheel and wemight see just a few kilometers

(08:48):
in front of us.
In that role.
We might not see much, andthat's the unknown.
It's going there and you'reprobably questioning like, yeah,
but how can I trust it?
Or what could happen?
And you're probably questioninglike, yeah, but how can I trust
it?
Or what it could happen?

(09:09):
Well, the truth is we don'tknow what could happen, and
that's the magic of it, right, but how to trust it?
Go back and check your life.
At one point you didn't knowhow to walk and you try it and

(09:34):
try it, and try it again untilyou did it.
You were able to watch othersdoing it and at one point I
guess that was also, you know, that little child motivation to
say if they can do it, I canalso do it.

(09:54):
And at one point you went toschool for the very first time.
You didn't know what to expect, you didn't know anyone.
And then you't know anyone andthen you started making friends
and getting beautiful knowledge.
And then you met someone andthen you had a boyfriend or
girlfriend for a while, or for along time, who knows.

(10:17):
And then you finished yourstudies and then you needed to
go and work.
And then you finished yourstudies and then you needed to
go and work.
And then you find a job and itwas probably great or probably
not, but then you were able toshift it.

(10:39):
If you go back, reallyeverything was unknown at one
point.
Everything and when I get torealize is the fact that the
more connected I am to my body,to my mind, to my soul, like we

(11:06):
are, these elements in thesehuman heads body, mind and soul
and the more we take care ofthese three elements, the more
we merge them together so theycan work together, the more our

(11:28):
intuition, our senses are gonnabe open to receive that
unknownness that is always there, because the more we get to
heal what I'm saying, mergingthese elements or is at the same

(11:51):
time is it's a healing process.
Right, it's about okay, it'sthe body.
If we have pain in the body, what is it in there?
Because the body itself is thesubconscious mind.
The body keeps the record.
So if you're having body painsomewhere, I recommend you to

(12:14):
search what, which is thespiritual or emotional meaning,
or emotional meaning of havingthat pain in that specific
region of your body, like someof the ones that I but that I
know because I have had thosetype of of pain is my shoulders,

(12:45):
when I feel like a lot ofstress and I feel heaviness in
the shoulders.
It's like what am I carryingwith me that doesn't belong to
me?
Or, yeah, it could be myresponsibility, but at the same
time, I don't have to carry it.
It's just having that awarenessand then acting on it.
Right then the knees.
It's about surrendering.

(13:05):
So what do you have tosurrender to?
What is it or what is it thatis causing you that pain that
you are afraid to move forwardin whatever dream or goal that
you have in your life?

(13:28):
The body is very, very wise andis always speaking to you.
So be aware of it, because atone point, if you don't listen,
it's when it's going to startcrying and when we get to a

(13:52):
point of having pain chronicpain, not fun, not fun, not fun.
I actually, uh yeah, in thepast months, I was having a pain
in my sciatica, for it wasseveral months and I did have.

(14:17):
Uh well, why I was.
I went in deep into knowingwhat that wanted to tell me and
then, at the same time, I had ahealing session with my pod
sisters.
That also helped a lot.
I still have a bit of pain, butmost of it has really like fade

(14:38):
away.
So be aware of your body, calmdown to your body, if I can say
that, because we live in ourminds, we live in our head and
that worst thing is that webelieve what our head is telling
us.
Right?

(14:59):
So it's about coming back tothe body to notice what the body
needs from foods, movement, emotional expression, whatever
it is that is there, allow it,simply allow it, welcome it,

(15:26):
because the truth is it wants totell you something so you can
ask it what are you trying totell me?
Why do I have this pain?
Why I feel like this?
What is this emotion trying totell me?
What I feel like this?
What is this emotion trying totell me?
And sometimes you might figureit out and sometimes you might

(15:47):
not, but it's just having thatawareness and talking to your
body and because it's there foryou, it's always there for you.
It's this beautiful avatar thatyou have to live, this amazing

(16:08):
human experience.
So love it.
It doesn't matter the shape, the size, the color, nothing.
Nothing is your avatar.
Love it, respect it, listen toit.

(16:29):
And coming back to the mind is,again, we believe what our mind
is telling us, but when you takea moment of stillness, like

(16:56):
right now that you're listeningto me, you're probably noticing
some thoughts passing by,because if you are in this
stillness, you're going tonotice that you are the observer
of your mind.
How can you explain to listento that thought or to that

(17:21):
belief if you are not observingright?
You are the observer, and whenwe get to understand that and I
want you to I love this, oh,bicycle, well, anyway, the fact

(17:42):
that you can picture yourself asthe sky and then seeing your
dots as clouds, clouds that arejust passing by.
The problem is, when we clingto those dots, when we repeat

(18:06):
them and repeat them, that theybecome beliefs and then we get
stuck in there.
That's what happens.
So when you just startobserving your thoughts and say,
oh, there he goes, that dot.
Oh, oh, my god, that's that'sprogramming for the collective.

(18:29):
Yeah, I supposed to look thatway.
I don't think so.
Oh, I'm not enough.
Oh, shoot, that's the voice ofI don't know my dad.
Oh, I supposed to be doing more.
Oh, yeah, my teachers.
And my boss also says that.
You know, it's about havingthat awareness and starting

(18:51):
noticing what is in your mind.
That is not serving you, because it's really coming from
someone else, if you're going totake something from someone
else, let it be something thatnurtures and supports your
mindset, and not the other wayaround.

(19:14):
It doesn't make sense.
And being aware of what weconsume, what kind of music?
What?
Which are the lyrics of themusic that you are listening to?
The media, oh, my god.
Where I lived, um, so myapartment, through the bedroom

(19:39):
on the back, there is a parkinglot and then there's another
building.
The TV in that house is huge.
I can literally see what theyare watching from my window.
The TV is on all the time.
We need moments of silence.

(20:00):
We need moments of silence.
We need moments of stillness.
We require that.
That's why we feel overwhelmeda lot of times, because it's
just information, information, information, information at all

(20:23):
times.
So the news most of them, they're not good news.
We know that.
What kind of brainwashing theyare giving you from there.
Also, social media what are youreally consuming there?
Are you watching?

(20:46):
I don't know whatever profilesthat?
What brings you is envy andfrustration and comparison.
What's the point?
You can actually curate whatyou are consuming by then seeing
things that are going tonurture you and support you in

(21:06):
your mental health, in yourwell-being.
You choose, you choose.
And it's the same with ourthoughts.
Well, first of all, we get.
We have between six, sixtythousand and eighty thousand

(21:29):
thoughts per day.
I was doing a calculation oneday, like if we sleep eight
hours.
So basically what is left?
We are having a dot everysecond, every second, and the
worst thing is most of thosedots are repeating dots from the
previous day and most of themare negative.

(21:52):
How fucked up is that?
That's why it is so importantto be aware of our mind.
Which are each cloud that ispassing by, what the heck is
saying?
And the thing is at one pointwhen you start recognizing them

(22:14):
and making them consciousbecause that's the issue.
Most of those thoughts areunconscious.
They are there but we are notaware of them, and that's why we
feel blue during the day.
Then, I don't know, some peoplemight get into depression as
well, because they are not awareof what's happening in your

(22:37):
mind.
It's not?
I'm not saying that that'swrong.
No, it's about bringing thatawareness to what we are
thinking and not allowed theautopilot drive our lives.

(22:57):
I mean, then we complain thatwe blame others for what's
happening to us, and then ourboss, and then our parents, and
then our siblings, and then ourfriends, and then it's
everyone's fault, but ours, whenthe truth is, it's our

(23:20):
responsibility to take our powerback for our lives, for what we
want to think and believe andthe new patterns that we can
actually create to live betterlives.
I am a fucking witness of thatthat we can change our life for

(23:44):
good, and that's why I'm here.
I used to be the victim for sucha long time until I guess I
just freaking, got tired of it.

(24:06):
It's very comfortable to bethere, you know, just to, yeah,
to blame others for whatever ishappening, when the reality is
this life is happening for you,not to you.
And when we get to understandthat and when we get and choose

(24:34):
to take that responsibility ofsaying, yes, this is happening
to me, for me, not to me anymore, for me, what is it here that I
get to learn?
What is it here that I get tochoose to feel better, to create
a different reality, even ifit's a little little bit better

(24:56):
that that what I am in thismoment?
This moment, because life is aroller coaster.
There could be many happymoments and stuff, and then we
fall down into a lot of griefbecause we lost people, because

(25:17):
relationships break, because welost our jobs, you know, and
that's life itself.
And the more you get to havethat good relationship with your

(25:40):
mind, the more you get tochoose every time how which you
are, your thoughts, then thebetter your emotions are gonna
be, even though sometimes it'supside down.
First comes the emotion andthen you know, is it that they
are very intertwined.
But my point is, the more youget to master your mind, that

(26:13):
better you're gonna be atcreating your life.
I've done it, I keep doing itand I keep witnessing other
people doing the same.

(26:34):
The more they are able tocontrol their mindset, the
better they create their lives.
And that is also something thatyou get to choose in your life.
And yeah, I mean, if you needsome guidance, I'll be happy to

(27:10):
guide you to go through thatprocess.
It's so beautiful.
It's so beautiful to startnoticing which are you know,
your beliefs, your patterns, your programs, your behaviors,
and then start noticing that alot of them they don't serve you
anymore and that a lot of themthey don't even belong to you.
You know, it's generational.

(27:32):
And then how you get to unlearn, to learn so many good things
and the magic that you cancreate by choosing to nurture

(27:54):
your mind at any level.
What happened to me is that whenI moved to Montreal in Canada

(28:20):
is when I started doing yoga, and so, after several years,
it's when, finally, my mind andbody connected.
They were totally disconnectedand it's when my body starts
saying, okay, you're doingexercise, you're kind of like

(28:42):
you know, getting into this, youknow spiritual realm, whatever
and the mind as well is like weneed to change our eating habits
.
That's what really happened.
And then I started you know, green juices and smoothies and
eating more plant-based foods, and all that, and the better

(29:08):
care I had for my body and thebetter care I had to my mind,
that's how I was able to connectto my soul, to connect to
source, to the divine, to God,whatever you want to call it.

(29:34):
I knew it was there.
I knew it was there.
The thing is well, I was raisedCatholic and I used to go to the
church Well, mainly because, yeah, my mom will ask us to go,

(29:55):
but it never really clicked forme.
It didn't Until I did the yogaprofessional training for a year
that they speak, of course, about the science of yoga, and

(30:16):
then we meditated as well andgetting to connect more to the
body and understanding the mindand all those teachings.

(30:36):
It is until then, because theuniversal God, universal
consciousness based on love.
Contrary to many religions, orat least Catholic, it is how I

(31:11):
was raised the first thing thatthey told you is that you are a
sin and you have to blameyourself for whatever that.
For me it just doesn't makesense.
And then you need to go talk toanother human to have access to

(31:37):
God Like really Fuck no.
Access to God, like really fuckno.
We can get that connectiondirectly with him, with her.
It is there at all times.
So, whatever it is, that isyour religion, your you know

(32:06):
that you believe in.
If it's love that exists, then Iwill question it.

(32:26):
That's what I'm going to say.
I will question it Because atany moment we can come here home
, home to our body, home to thatsource, energy, god, universe

(32:54):
that is always there, holding us, always Unconditionally,
unconditionally it is just up toyou to choose to go that and

(33:21):
the more connected we can get tothat energy of love, of
unconditional.
I hate using unconditional love.
I guess I still use it becauseI mean, it's been the program
for 40-something years, becausenow I understand that there's no
such a thing as anunconditional love.
It's love.

(33:41):
That said that all, because ifit's conditioned it's not love.
That's what I mean and yeah, so, yeah.
So I'm trying to come back tothe thread of what I get into

(34:08):
the body, mind and soul, ofthese three elements of our
humaneness.
Yeah, it is because the more inharmony, the more nurturing and

(34:32):
the more trust, the more trustyou are going to have in that
unknown that is always there.

(34:52):
Are you getting it?
Are you getting it?
Because if I know something isunknown, but if I know I'm
supporting my body with goodfoods, with exercise, with
movement, then let's say, if Iwant to be able to be a healthy

(35:24):
85-year-old woman, if I know Iam supporting my body, if I know
that I am feeding my mind withbeautiful things and choosing a

(35:46):
positive mindset and choosing toyet to go through life and
being equanimous and choosingpeace, even when there are
breakdowns, and all that, if Iknow I have that support of of
God, of the universe, of thedivine at all times, how come

(36:09):
I'm not gonna trust if I know mybody is in, I know my mind is,
it is in, and I know the divineis always there for me.
We are integral beings.

(36:33):
If we don't take care of thesethree elements body, mind and
soul I don't think we can be inalignment.
And I have experienced itbecause when something happens I

(36:57):
don't know, let's say, when Iwas having a lot of pain because
of my sciatica, I really neededI mean it was taking so much
energy and fear at the same time, you know, because it was like,
oh, I don't want to do thatmovement because of the fear of
having the freaking pain.
So it's really.
I mean I needed to go and lookat my body and say, okay, what

(37:22):
is it there?
What do you want to tell me?
What kind of exercise can I do?
Or movement so we can startsooting this pain?
I am not rejecting it, I knowyou are here.
You want to tell me something, what can I do?
And, of course, the healthierI'm getting now, I mean the more

(37:46):
aligned I feel.
And life is wobbly.
Well, I use better I lovesaying more the roller coaster,
because as you can go a little, you know a little up and then a
little down, sometimes you cango a little up and then you go

(38:06):
freaking down the way and thespeed is like fucking taking you
, then it can get.
You know, scare the shit out ofyou, the shit out of you.
But when we know we have thatsupport, that trust in our body
to support that emotional charge, you know it's.

(38:34):
We can trust more.
We can, yeah, we can trust more.
We can, yeah, because it takesthe same effort to trust and not
trust, isn't it?
So why would I choose somethingthat doesn't serve me?

(38:59):
Wow.

(39:19):
So all this to tell you that Ihave taken the decision to trust
the unknown, because everythingis unknown.
How far a dodgy cut for a dodgycall.

(39:41):
Well, it is a paradox.
That's what I mean.
It is everything is unknown.
What I can do is put theexpectation of what I want to

(40:01):
achieve, put that intention inthere and by doing, by doing so,
then take the inspire actionForward towards the goals and

(40:26):
dreams and enjoy the journey.
That's what we are here for.
We may have a dream of a house,of a partner, of retirement,

(40:51):
whatever, but it's aboutenjoying that journey.
Because what about if, then, wedie before?
That's for certain, we aregoing to die.
So what about just taking iteasy?
Not taking life so seriously?
At the end is a game.

(41:12):
How do you want to enjoyplaying that game.
Enjoy playing that game of thatunknown that is surrounding us
at all time and by approachingit with a cheerful energy, with

(41:35):
positivism, or at peace, youknow, with harmony, then, or at
peace, you know, with harmonythen we feel open and ready to
receive the magic and themiracles that life and the

(41:56):
divine wants to offer you.
The divine wants to offer you, because what about if each day
there's something magical?
What about if each day there'ssomething new that you get to
learn?
What about if you know everyday you learn a new word?

(42:17):
What about if every day, then, you discover something new in
your path of going to work?
What about if each day you getto encounter a new person and
you share words or a simplesmile?
What about, what about if theunknown is showing us all that

(42:51):
and we're just taking it forgranted or we're trying to
control it?
And that's when we fucked it up.
So, yeah, allow your life toflow with ease and peace and

(43:23):
that curiosity that it willcreate that magic and miracles
to appear into your day-to-day.
And this is it for today.

(43:51):
Thank you for joining me inMidlife Butterfly and this.
Wow.
Whatever I just shared, Icannot remember most of it, and
that's the beauty of it.
I want to invite you to Clarity, which is a three-day event
that I'm offering from July 22ndto 24th At 3 pm Eastern Time,

(44:17):
and it's to help you If you feelstuck, if you feel you feel
like you know in a foggy placeat this moment, if you're in a
life transition and you don'tknow how to move forward.
So we're basically going to betalking about who am I, what do
I want, and then how can youstart taking action to move

(44:45):
