In this episode of Navigating Food Addiction, I’m sharing a step by step way to start defusing trigger foods that have had a hold on you for years. If you’ve been avoiding certain foods because you feel anxious or out of control around them, this approach will give you a structure to work through that feeling at your own pace.
We start by taking the weight loss deadline off the table. Then we build in daily wins like drinking water at each meal and adding fruits or vegetables to your plate. With those foundations in place, we get into the most important step, eating your biggest trigger food every day until you remove the fear and guilt that has been tied to it. Over time, you’ll feel in control instead of feeling like these foods control you.
This is not about willpower or quick fixes. It’s about dismantling the cycle you’ve been stuck in and creating a calm, steady relationship with food that you can sustain for the rest of your life.
