Facing the Truth and Heartbreak: Counseling, Courage, and the Unexpected Help
In this episode, I share a pivotal chapter in my journey—my steps toward healing through couples and individual counseling and the heartbreaking yet freeing decision to leave my 23-year marriage. I open up about the challenges of navigating therapy in a relationship where real change wasn’t happening. I share the raw truths of what I learned in therapy—how it helped me understand my patterns, recognize the damage, and ultimately make the life-altering decision to leave.
I also explore a surprising truth: help doesn’t always come from the places or people you expect. During one of the hardest seasons of my life, I learned to accept support from unlikely sources, a humbling and life-changing experience that taught me the power of community and resilience. Through this story, my hope is to remind you that even when the path to freedom feels uncertain, every small step forward matters, and support can come in the most unexpected ways.
