About Arlene Healey:
With over 45 years of experience as a Consultant Psychotherapist and Family Therapist, Arlene has made significant contributions to child and family services, particularly during The Troubles—a violent conflict rooted in religious and ethnic tensions in Northern Ireland from the late 1960s to the late 1990s. Following the Belfast/Good Friday Peace Agreement, she founded the Family Trauma Centre, pioneering a culturally sensitive approach to trauma care for families affected by the conflict. Arlene's work has been instrumental in addressing intergenerational trauma and continues to influence the field through teaching, consultation, and her role with the Historical Institutional Abuse Redress Board.
About Imelda McCarthy:
Imelda is a distinguished figure in systemic therapy, co-founding the Family Therapy Association of Ireland and introducing the innovative Fifth Province Approach. With a rich background in academia and international presentations, she has authored influential works and shaped the future of systemic practices.
