Jorge Chavez (00:03):
You are listening to the Topaz Sales Consulting
Podcast. I'm George Chavez, andin this episode, I'll share a
truth, a sort of mindset shiftthat will help you spend less
time with the wrong prospectsand more time with the right
ones. And here it is. Listen up.You're great.
You're amazing. You're awesome. You are someone people are

(00:25):
fortunate to work with. And yourcompany, your team is great. You
offer really solid products andservices.

But here's a liberating truth: You are not for everyone. And (00:32):
undefined
that's okay. Understanding thatis the key to becoming more
effective, more fulfilled, andultimately more successful in
sales. Your product and servicesare not for everyone. Write it
down.

(00:53):
You might have the best productin your industry. You might
bring unmatched service andintegrity. But if your solution
doesn't fit someone's timeline,or their budget, or their
values, you're not a fit forthem, and they're not a fit for
you. As salespeople, we feelthis pressure to convince

(01:13):
everyone, to win every deal, toforce fit a square peg into a
round hole. You don't needeveryone.
You need the right ones, theright clients. The right clients
value what you sell. Theyunderstand your differentiators.
The right client will respectyou and your time. They keep
their appointments, tell you thetruth, they pay their bills on

(01:37):
time, they refer you to othersand talk you up while they do
it, and you can reference them.
Now, let's look at the flipside. You're going to meet
prospects who are always toobusy. They don't answer your
questions. They ghost youremails and skip appointments.
Let me be clear, Even when thathappens, you're still amazing.

(01:58):
You're still a rock star. Butthat person, that's not your
buyer. Accept that your prospectmay not be a good fit. The hard
part is not chasing them. Thesmart move is just moving on.
Why? Because spending hours withsomeone who will never buy,

(02:18):
never value what you offer. That's not okay. It wastes time
you could have spent prospectingand building relationships with
the right buyers. Your job insales is not to convince the
unwilling.
Your job is to find a mutualfit. The ones that value you and
you're able to serve them well. You're not rejecting them,

(02:41):
you're just making space for theright fit, the right clients.
You're spending your time whereit matters most. Let me wrap
this up.
So what did we learn? You wroteit down. You are not for
everyone. And that's perfectlyokay. Your job is to find a fit,
not to force it.

(03:01):
To honor your time, not wasteit. To work with people who see
your value, and treat you withthe respect and professionalism
you deserve. If you found thishelpful, don't forget to
