In this episode, we explore the transformative power of letting go — and how the stories you tell yourself can either constrain you or set you free. Inspired by the creation and burning of the fifth Timberella sculpture, "Girl on Fire," you’ll uncover how the releasing of old mental patterns can lead you to profound self-liberation.

You'll hear the story of Anne, a successful professional who felt trapped by the expectations of others, and how art-based mindfulness helped her reclaim her true self. Drawing from yoga philosophy and neuroscience, we discuss how repeated thoughts shape neural pathways — and how mindfulness and creativity can rewire your brain for greater freedom and self-acceptance.

✨ In this episode:

  • How self-constructs shape identity — and how to break free
  • The concept of "avidya" in yoga philosophy
  • The neuroscience behind self-limiting beliefs
  • A creative prompt to help you release outdated self-constructs

🔥 Watch the short documentary about the burning of Timberella 5 and explore the symbolism behind letting go (see link, below). Your true self exists beyond all stories — and through art and mindfulness, you can find your way home.

We’d love to hear your reflections or stories of transformation. Share your thoughts with us @JodiRose.Studio on IG or Facebook or tag us on social media using #TheiROSEPodcast.

This episode asks you to consider these questions:

Do you hold beliefs that you're not enough?

Do you have an inner critic that keeps you stuck?

Do you feel like you're living your life for someone else, or do you feel that conditions outside of yourself define how you live your life?

What kind of encouragement or support would help you redefine your self-image?

Set the intention of letting go by writing these words at the top of your journal page. Create any image of the first thing that comes to your mind – don't overthink it, just allow your hand to move intuitively. This might be abstract shapes, symbols, or a representational image – there's no right or wrong.

Once your image is complete, journal with it, asking: What wisdom does it have to share? What 1-3 specific actions can you take to let go of what burdens you?
