Speaker 1 (00:00):
The NBA is facing its biggest scandal ever. Active coaches
and players have been arrested by the FBI. Four time
NBA champion John Sally will join me at the top
of the show to react and share a big announcement
of his own. Plus, the Israeli Kanesse has insulted Vice
President JD. Vance on his visit to Israel and taken

(00:20):
explicit action against President Trump's Gaza Pea Steel. Congresswoman Anna
Paulina Luna and Colonel Douglas McGregor will react, And the
ongoing Schoomer shutdown continues. California has new AI laws. What
are they and will they spread to the rest of
the country. And Arizona has a new Republican candidate for
Congress and he's well known to our audience. It's all
next to the Matt Gates Show. Let's do this shaking

(00:43):
up Washington, DC. We're breaking the fever.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Do you ever watch this guy on television?

Speaker 3 (00:48):
It's like a machine.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
He's great. Matt Gates. Today, the National Basketball Association was
rocked by news of a far reaching gambling scandal that
involved the mafia. This morning, the FBI announced two separate
indictments involving some thirty people. Hall of Famer and Portland
Trails Blazer coach Chauncey Billups and former LA Lakers coach

(01:14):
Damon Jones were arrested for a scheme to rig illegal
poker games. They allegedly lured people into those poker games
saying they'd get to play with athletic stars, and then
stole millions using sophisticated cheating technology. A second indictment tied
to Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier to a corruption scandal
where he allegedly used insider information to rig sports betting.

(01:38):
Social media users posted this video of Rosier suggesting that
the player watching could not be a sincere effort by
a professional basketball player.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
And he's still running there, still going him on Rosier
and turn it over again.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Having a tough night, Rosier off the d Show, and
he turned it over, turn it up.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
But you don't want to play in two three, especially
against the minaciac at ten. You don't mind playing them.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
I didn't do a lockdown.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Agree, they got to get busy Rosier with a nine
to one one bumped up.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Short that on Beryl ros Heer.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
The ten degree is short.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
The ultimate teammates against sacrifice three.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
So much rose here on the show and go.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
That all year.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Empty corner two man game, Rosier with a.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Three, Anderson with a rebounder.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Rosier relocates for another try.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Well, that was awfully.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Gosh, he just couldn't seem to get the close ones.
I am a Miami Heat fan, and Terry Rozier throwing
games for the Mafia or whoever is frankly the best
explanation we've been given for his recent play. It was
Rosier's play with the Charlotte Hornets that drew the ire
of the FBI. On one occasion, Rosier allegedly faked an
injury and his ass bet against him in advance. They

(03:02):
were so confident they wouldn't get caught, they literally counted
the cash at his house, according to the indictment.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
In some instances, players altered their performance or took themselves
out of games to make sure that those bets paid out.
One example occurred on March twenty third, twenty twenty three,
in Charlotte. Terry Rogier, an NBA player now with the
Miami Heat but at the time playing for the Hornets,
allegedly led others close to him know that he planned

(03:32):
to leave the game early with a supposed injury. Using
that information, members of the group placed more than two
hundred thousand dollars in wagers on his under statistics. Rogier
exited the game after just nine minutes and those bets
paid out, generating tens of thousands of dollars in profit.
The proceeds were later delivered to his home where the

(03:54):
group counted their cash.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Starguard Malik Beasley was also subject to federal law enforcement
action that got in the way of contract negotiations that
was reported earlier this year. Here's director of the FBI
Cash Battel describing the alleged conduct that caught the charges today.

Speaker 8 (04:13):
This is an illegal gambling operation and sports ringing operation
that spanned.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
The course of years.

Speaker 8 (04:18):
The FBI led a coordinative takedown across eleven states to
arrest over thirty individuals today responsible for this case, which
is very much ongoing. Not only did we crack into
the fraud that these perpetrators committed on the grand stage
of the NBA, but we also entered and executed a

(04:40):
system of justice against La Casinoshra to include the Bonano, Gambino,
Genevesi and Luchas crime families.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Joining us now the legend four time NBA champion, he
was the first NBA player to win a ring with
three different teams. He did it in three different decades.
John Sally, I know we've got a big announcement to
make coming up, but first we got to get to
the news of the day. When you saw the scope
of the criminal charges and the specific people involved, were

(05:10):
you surprised?

Speaker 9 (05:12):
I was extremely surprised. I woke up my phone. Who
was buzzing? I said, it's not even time to wake up,
but I woke up. I was on the phone with
team ex teammates. It's it's amazing, It is amazing what
has happened. I am I can't believe certain guys would

(05:33):
do certain things like that. You know, I hate losing,
so it was never something that I would even think about.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
So there are two big scandals here. There's the allegation
of rigged poker games and then the allegation of rigged
basketball games. In those conversations you're having with current players,
how are they reacting?

Speaker 9 (05:52):
You know, one of my one guy was thinking, well,
maybe we don't understand if he did it. But Chauncey
Billets is an ex pitch. I'd love Chauncey Billups.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 9 (06:04):
I'm not going to take any sides. I wouldn't believe
Chauncey would do something like that, but you can get
put in some crazy situations. I mean, I want a
bowdog when that was around poke a toonament, but it
wasn't rigged it. It was a big charity event and
I really don't gamble, so you know, to hear that,

(06:26):
to hear that guys were even a part of that
makes no sense to me.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Chauncey Billips is a legend, He's NBA Royalty. I mean,
these indictments, though, are alleging some pretty specific conduct, and
they're alleging involvement with the Gambino crime family, the Banano
crime family, the Genevese crime family. I didn't even know
that the mafia was still around, But when they describe
having specific glasses that can see insignia on cards, when

(06:56):
they talk about messages being sent to someone off site
and then relaying act for hand signals, it sounds pretty sophisticated.
Is the Mafia often around NBA players?

Speaker 9 (07:06):
I wouldn't think so, and I don't you know, when
I heard that, and it was so specific on wearing glasses. One,
I don't know the guys that wear glasses while playing poker.
Two and that means they would have to have it. Yeah,
they would have to have an air piece in. And
the fact that you even said we thought that Mafia

(07:29):
was only in the movies. I didn't even know that,
you know, that was still a thing or a thing.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
Ever. So to hear that they were involved with.

Speaker 9 (07:39):
Hearing things and being able to see through cars is
very James Bond, very mission impossible. But obviously it's not
impossible if they have this much information.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Steven A. Smith fashions himself as a basketball expert. We
aren't sure if he ever played the game competitively, but
he did find a way to blame President Trump for
the NBA's criminal gambling scandal. Take a listen and react.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
On the other side.

Speaker 10 (08:03):
Trump is coming, He's coming. Don't be surprised that the
WNBA is next on his list, because when you've got
all of these protests that have been going out there
and people that have been protesting against him and what
have you, this man is coming.

Speaker 6 (08:20):
He's coming.

Speaker 10 (08:22):
And I've been saying it for a long time. And
to me, this is the latest nugget of evidence that
we're talking about right here. That's not to question the
legitimacy of the case.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
We don't know.

Speaker 10 (08:32):
We're all sitting up here and we're saying that we
don't know. But anybody that has been around him, anybody
that has talked to him, anybody that has seen his
reactions from the sports leagues and the positions that people
have taken, they are not surprised.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
So what do you make of Stephen A. Smith trying
to make all of this about Trump?

Speaker 9 (08:54):
Well, I understand that Steven A. Smith, this is his
first take, so we got to take take two, take three,
take four. I don't know if he I think when
he says Trump, he's referring to all the different shakeups
the FBI is coming, So I think he's got it
mixed up. I don't know why he would bring Trump

(09:17):
into the conversation.

Speaker 6 (09:18):
This was not part of the conversation. This was the.

Speaker 9 (09:20):
FBI investigating for four years, and Trump has been in
office for eight months or nine months, So I don't
know why he would even bring President Trump into the conversation.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
But you know, if you are.

Speaker 9 (09:36):
Doing television and you're doing, and you're bringing up names
that get all kinds of people riled up. It just
adds to the sensationalism of the media.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
So I don't know.

Speaker 9 (09:50):
I would have never bought mister Trump into this conversation whatsoever.
The FBI director that he did say, he I haven't
seen an FBI directed a hold a press conference. The
reason Cash Mattel held a press conference was to say
this is real. I'm here as a director, and we

(10:12):
have enough information to bring these allegations. So I would
have said that, and I would have stayed out of
the way of bringing.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Other people involved that names aren't mentioned.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
So Chauncey Phillips is a Hall of Famer, Terry Rozier
got this big contract extension with the heat tens of
millions of dollars. There'll be a lot of our viewers
who will just wonder why that wasn't enough. If these
allegations are true, and obviously they deserve their day in court, Like,
what would explain the mentality to have all that an
NBA player has and still potentially pursue this type of crime.

Speaker 9 (10:52):
I'm gonna tell you, matt Sometimes it's just time in
between a lot of guys like to gamble. I don't
like to lose money, so I never gambled. It wasn't
my thing. Maybe it was the fun of playing these games.
It was something to do. You never know who you're
going to meet on a golf course or you're going
to meet it at a casino. The private stuff is

(11:14):
you don't want people hopping on you and being around
you and seeing how much money you're spending and losing
and extension. I hope you got a lot of upfront
money because this is going to take a lot of
lawyer to deal with.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
He's going to need a Diddy legal team for this one.
So the NBA today strikes me as worse than when
you played, like there is nobody today that plays defense
like the Detroit bad Boys teams that you played on.
So much of the game is determined by who's getting
to the line, who's getting preference from officials. Now we're
learning that competition itself, in some instances was about as

(11:53):
real as professional wrestling. Are we entering an era where
the NBA is fake.

Speaker 9 (11:58):
I don't know this it's fake. I know one referee,
good guy. When I play. I don't know if it's fake,
but I do know, sports are being gambled on to
the point where there's like how many minutes this guy
is going to play? How many files is he going
to get? You know, they have all these side bets,

(12:20):
these Paulais. I think it's crazy that in Vegas right now,
I heard like a thousand bookies have indictments, and but
I see everywhere on all the advertisements, which I would
love for them to be advertisements on my show, which
we'll talk about DraftKings Fan Duel.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
I mean there's there's guys that.

Speaker 9 (12:42):
They should investigate maybe on some of those nets getting
those that kind of money underdog like these are now
sponsors and they're they're a part of the NBA. I
know when the NBA allowed it to happen, as my understanding,
and they were getting one billion dollars a year just

(13:02):
from the advertisement or being in cahoots with these people.
I don't know about the players. When I played, I
would go places and guys would say crazy things like
how many of you think you guys are gonna win?

Speaker 6 (13:16):
By?

Speaker 9 (13:16):
And I would just look at them and walk by.
I didn't know that if you answered that you were
giving away or saying something knowing that certain teams were
favored by certain points. I would hear that, but you
know that was never in our mind. Our mind was
to go in, beat the team, get as many wins

(13:37):
as you can during the regular season to secure your
home court advantage.

Speaker 6 (13:41):
That was mainly what we would do.

Speaker 9 (13:43):
We had really great leaders Isaiah Thomas, Bill Amber, Vinnie Johnson,
Rick Mahorn. Those guys were really about, hey, get your
mind into the game.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yeah, it was a different game. It was just a
totally different game than you watch in those days you're
talking about. You didn't see these scores where someone's winning
one hundred and thirty nine to one hundred and twenty eight.
But let's get to our big news. In addition to
being an on court legend, you've also been an incredible
ambassador for the game in media and in culture, and
we are incredibly proud to announce that you're going to

(14:14):
be joining One American News with the Best darn Sports
show with John Sally. Tell us what viewers can I ask.

Speaker 9 (14:20):
Right, it can expect as much fun as you watch
when you watch Matt Gates Show every day. We're going
to be a weekly show. Hopefully we can convince it
to make it a daily show. It is great. I
have one of my best friends on their, Daryl Cohen,
who is a die hard Los Angeles fan of the

(14:42):
Dodgers and the Lakers, and we.

Speaker 6 (14:45):
Sit around and we have fun with it.

Speaker 9 (14:46):
You know, so much going on, it's so much serious
news that we decided we were going to talk about
the things and have fun doing it.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
So make sure you watch the best.

Speaker 9 (14:58):
Darn sports Hope host John Sally. Maybe Matt Gates will
come on my show. So some of your followers and
sponsors will come on to my show.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
Let's get that fun.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
We'll cut it up about sports. But I know I
can't be your favorite interview like who would be? Or
if you could interview anybody like living or dead, who
would it be.

Speaker 9 (15:19):
I would want to interview Lebron James. I would want
to interview what he doesn't do interviews. I understand Larry Bird,
who's one of my favorite players.

Speaker 6 (15:29):
I want Magic Johnson.

Speaker 9 (15:32):
If I can get MJ on the show, you know,
I might do that interview or retire for a week.
Just I want some players. I reached out to David
Justice so he can have He's a two time World
Oh yeah, series champion and hear what he has to
say about what's happening in the World Series. I want
to keep it sports. I want to keep it right

(15:54):
at the point. Even though on my show, hopefully you'll
see tomorrow, we do a little bit of politics. We
talk about RFK Junia, and I would love to have
him on because you know, I'm a vegan. I believe
in most of the things he says. I've questioned tons
of things about the medical world and the things people

(16:15):
put into their bodies. So I would love to interview
people where you can learn something, learn something that you
didn't know before.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
The Best Darn Sports Show with John Sally. I can't
wait to see some of those interviews. And you know
a lot of those people you mentioned, they're in the
southern California area, so I have every expectation that they're
going to be stopping by, and I can't wait to
have that as part of the tremendous package of content
we offer here at One American News. John Sally the legend.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
Maybe you can get Trump on for me.

Speaker 9 (16:41):
Maybe you could convince mister President to come do with me.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Bro, You've just started with the network and you're trying
to make me your booker. You're gonna learn a lot
about how it works over here. John Sally, my man,
We can't wait to see you soon.

Speaker 6 (16:54):
Thanks Jack.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Coming up, President Trump's peace plan is certainly under some
assault in Israe. There was a visit by the Vice president,
a reaction by the kanesset. We'll hear all about it
from congresswoman on a Paulina Luna next.

Speaker 11 (17:12):

Simply go to the app store, search out for an,

my show Real America.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
It's time to make a deal.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
A lot of people are dying.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
You know, they're not Americans, but the people their souls,
and they're dying by the thousands, worse since World War Two,
and we really should stop it.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
That was President Trump demonstrating his unwavering pursuit of peace
around the world and his determination to stop the carnage
of the Russia Ukraine War. President Trump just hit Russia's
two largest oil companies with sanctions. As a result, China's
state oil giants have reportedly halted short term deals, and
Indian refineries are sharply cutting their imports from Moscow. Treasury

(20:00):
Secretary Scott Besson announced those sanctions just days after Trump
canceled plans for a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin
in Hungary. In that announcement, Besson said, quote, given President
Putin's refusal to end this senseless war, Treasury is sanctioning
Russia's two largest oil companies that fund the Kremlin's war machine.

(20:21):
Treasury is prepared to take further action if necessary, to
support President Trump's effort to end yet another war. Joining
US now by phone, Florida Congresswoman on A Pauline A. Luna,
a congresswoman, Let's start with Russia Ukraine. President Trump has
just imposed sanctions on Russia's two largest oil companies. Do
you think this will force Putin to the table?

Speaker 13 (20:44):
I think that there's definitely, you know, never bet against Trump,
especially in regards to some of these negotiations. Obviously you've
seen that Putin has come out and said that you know,
he's not going to you know, react with pressure. But
I do think that there is a willingness, especially when
you have the fact that President Trump in the same
sentence has also said, you know, if we can reach
a peace deal, then he's willing to talk trade. So

(21:06):
I definitely think President Trump is going to land the plane,
especially on these negotiations. And Matt, I will say that
you know this, but a lot of members of Congress
have gone to meet with, you know, the Ukrainian delegation
to support Zelensky, and very few members have been able
to support the president's peace efforts to try to actually
establish an INDEXUS war. And so I am still set

(21:27):
to meet with the Special Envoy to the President of
Russia coming up here pretty soon to help further those talks.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
And what will you pursue.

Speaker 13 (21:35):
In that meaning, well, first and foremost, it's going to
be the first time I think since the nineties really
that members of Congress has actually engaged with the Russian
delegation as you know earlier this year, is able to
meet with an ambassador. That's the first thing that they
pointed out, but I'm going to continue to carry the
President Trump's message that obviously he's seeking a peace steal
here and ultimately there's a big win, especially if the

(21:58):
government of Russia decides that they do indeed want to
index the war in Ukraine. Also in the same sense, though,
you know, there's a lot of people in DC, as
you know, Neocon specifically, that are hoping that this escalates.
So I think it's really important to note that President
Trumps also in the same sentence so did say that
he was not going to be escalating the war and
giving tomahawks to Zelensky, which he knows Zelenski was really

(22:19):
pushing for. So I think the President knows exactly what
he's doing, and if there's one person that actually can
help negotiate this pceal to him.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
You're also a close ally of the Vice President jd.

Speaker 6 (22:29):
Vance.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
He was recently in Israel. While there, the Kanesset advanced
legislation to annex Judaea and Samaria, which some people call
the West Bank. This is an explicit violation of President
Trump's Gaza peace Plan. What's your reaction, Yeah.

Speaker 13 (22:43):
I think that that it was insanely disrespectful and really
kind of points a finger in the face of the
United States, especially after how hard the President, Secretary Rubio Wincoft,
Jared Kushner, how hard they work to all accomplish that
peace deal. And I fully support the Vice President in
his statements, and I fully support the President in his
statement directly to the Kannesset that if they do anything
to damage that peace steel, that there will be no

(23:04):
more help from the United States.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Do you think then Yahoo wants peace.

Speaker 13 (23:10):
I think that there are factions within the Knnesset that
are definitely under no circumstance going to accept the long
term peace deal. But ultimately, if Metnyahu wants to maintain
relationship with the United States, he has to understand that
President Trump, especially on this topic, there is no other
situation around the fact that if you cross the President,
especially after he negotiated stuff. It's such a historic steel

(23:32):
that has saved so many lives that there's no situation
that exists where he's going to be able to continue
war and also cross the President Trump at the same time.
So I would advise him to listen to President Trump.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
I do want to bring our focus back home. We
are in the middle of this. Schumer shutdown. What can
you share with us about the prospects of bringing this
to an end? What are you telling your constituents about
how to prepare for the duration of all this?

Speaker 13 (24:00):
You know, Matt, you know this better than anyone else.
And a lot of this has been political grandstanding. But
what's really unfortunate is what I'm hearing directly, and this
is from other Democrats, is that we're likely not going
to be getting back to Washington until some of these
healthcare subsidies expire, and then they're going to try to
pivot their messaging on the shutdown and blame Republicans for

(24:21):
those increases. The fact is is that Democrats had the
opportunity to pass the Queen CR and look, I'm not
even a fan of crs, but a Queen CR is
better than the ones that they load with a lot
of other junks. And ultimately it's the blame game now.
So while they're advocating for you know, funding for Locusts
and Africa to stop it, here we are actually having
service members that are potentially going without their paychecks and

(24:43):
legitimate programs that need funding, like the with program women
and Children that many people rely on, especially coming up
on these holidays that they need food for that are
potentially going to be running out of money, and so
that's not a scare tactic, that's the fact. And I
really hope that President Trump is able to to lend
the plan on this one, which I think that the
Democrats are going to start folding as soon as they

(25:04):
get hear more vocal from their own constituency, which we
know over seventy percent of Democrats are not supporting what
they're doing with the shutdown.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Do you think that this ends with some sort of
Republican concession on the Obamacare subsidies.

Speaker 13 (25:16):
I don't know what I do know, though I cynically
go ahead, can you hear me?

Speaker 6 (25:22):
Yes?

Speaker 13 (25:23):
Yeah, I will tell you. What I do know is
that my district specifically hates Obamacare. Obviously, you know, the
Democrats walked us into kind of a mess with that.
At the end of the day, though, I think that,
you know, Congress is a little bit behind, especially on
those on this whole conversation, because it seems like AI
is making massive advancements and potentially providing cheaper healthcare where
people might not necessarily even be able to be required

(25:45):
to carry the insurance that most people are paying, which
is by the way, insurance is very expensive right now
and we do need a better solution. So I'm happy
to have those talks.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Florida Congresswoman at a Polina Luna. Thanks for joining us
and sharing everything that's going on on the hill and
what you guys are trying to do to make it better.

Speaker 13 (25:58):
Appreciate it you God bless and Congress on the baby,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
And coming up. Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb is running for Congress.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
The good old fashioned showdown of a Republican primary is
setting up in Arizona, where Republican Congressman Andy Biggs is
departing the House of Representatives to run for governor. Biggs
has been endorsed by President Trump in this campaign and
seems to be doing well. That does leave open a
congressional seat, and it's drawing some big players. One is
former NFL kicker Jay Feedley. J Feeley. Here's what he

(28:52):
says he brings to the race.

Speaker 14 (28:54):
Okay, I think spending the last ten years in broadcasting
three hours every Sunday at National TV talking with the
American people, I think that's prepared me for this opportunity.
I think that's one of the biggest jobs you have
in DC as a congressman, is the ability to communicate,
to talk to the people back home and then talk
to people across the country and tell them why our
policies are the best policies and why we truly do

(29:16):
care about people.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Peely will have a strong challenge in this race. Former
Panell County Sheriff Mark Lamb has entered the chat. Sheriff
Lamb is a strong supporter of President Trump. He's well
known throughout Arizona, and he's been on the front lines
of the battle against cartel's narcos and bandits. The Department
of Homeland Security is reporting that under President Trump's current term,
there've been around half a million arrests of illegal immigrants.

(29:40):
Law enforcement, border patrol, and deportation operations are considered essential.
They're continuing despite this shutdown. Sheriff Mark Lamb joins US now.
Sheriff Lamb, I am certain you would make an excellent congressman.
Tell us what compelled you to run for the position.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Well, look, Matt, I was trying to get as far
away from it as I I could be honest with you.
You know, politics is not fun, and you know I've
got my businesses doing very well. But in the end,
I love America. I love this country. I love it's history,
I love the birthright. And with everything going on with
President what President Trump is dealing with, we got crime,

(30:17):
you know, in so many of these cities. Immigration is
still a problem. I just couldn't run away from it.
And I think what Washington needs now is people like
yourself who are unapologetic and unafraid of God, family, freedom,
and what this country is built on. And so for
that reason, I'm jumping into the congressional race in Arizona,
and I'm having to fill some big footsteps. One of

(30:38):
your friends, Andy Biggs, who has been part of the
Freedom Caucus, one of the most conservative congressmen in Washington,
d C, is running for governor in Arizona, and so
I've got to fill some big shoes. But I'm hopeful
that the people of CD five in Arizona will vote
me in and let me be there representative in Washington DC.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
You have an almost encyclopedica knowledge of the tactics used
by some of the very cartels President Trump is fighting
right now. How will those insights help you assist the
president and his agenda?

Speaker 5 (31:11):
Wow, that's a great question, Matt.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
And obviously this is my strong suit. You know, we've
got to deal with immigration. We're dealing with politicians who
continue to shield harbor and conceal people, which I think
is a violation of USC thirteen twenty four. It is
illegal to shield harbor concealed people. I think you need
representatives in DC that understand the law and just where

(31:34):
the line is. We also need people that are going
to be unapologetic about the job in front of President
Trump and the rest of this country of removing these
people that came into this country illegally. Many of them
came under the last four years under the previous administration,
when they just completely and intentionally turned a blind eye
to the border and caused a lot of problems that

(31:56):
we're dealing with right now. I think I bring a
lot of knowledge and understand of how to develop laws
that can fix these situations long term. What President Trump
has done is phenomenal, But until Congress and Senate ratify
those into laws that are going to be long term solutions,
we're going to continue to down problems.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
You've probably forgotten more about immigration enforcement than most members
of Congress have ever known. As a congressman, though, you'll
have to deal with a wide swath of issues. So
let's talk about the economy right now. There are a
number of these Taiwanese chip makers who are moving to
Arizona setting up shop there. Is that good for Arizona?
Is that your vision for the economic future of the state.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Well, I think we see what President Trump has done
with the tariffs. It's now brought a lot more businesses. Obviously,
this chip company was already on its way into Arizona.
It's going to bring a lot of jobs. That was
actually right in my county. It was going to bring
a lot of jobs into that county, higher paying jobs.
I love to see that. What Americans don't realize is
in the last pot since twenty twenty one to now,

(32:58):
we've gone from eight hundred billion dollars in credit card
debt to one point two trillion dollars. That's a fifty
percent increase in credit card debt. That tells me the
American people are over a barrel. So what do we
got to do. We've got to create more jobs, more
opportunities for Americans, get livable wages that they can work through.
And how do we do that? We create opportunities for

(33:20):
them to work. I would love to see more people
in the trades. I was never a guy who went
to college. I'm a big believer in trade schools, and
I think with the invent of or AI and all
this other technology, what we need now more than anything
is people that are willing to use their hands and
their brain and actually build things in America. And I
think we're heading in that direction, Matt. But I would

(33:41):
love to be I would love to be helpful in
getting a lot more of that business here in America
and increasing the jobs and the pain jobs that we have.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
It's a bit foolish to have to reflect on this,
but we are in a shutdown of the Democrats causing
and one of the demands that they've made is to
complete restore all of the foreign aid that President Trump
and Doge reduced. What's your view on foreign aid? What's
the right amount of money American taxpayers should send to
other countries?

Speaker 5 (34:11):
I think it's zero.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Matt.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Look, we're thirty seven trillion dollars in debt right now.
I don't know how we can send anybody any money.
And frankly, the return on that money that we've been
sending to other places has been negligible at best. I
think what we've got to start doing is really focusing
on Americans and American issues. And I'm unapologetic about my

(34:35):
love for this country and the American people, and I
think we've done a disservice, you know. Alexis to Toakville,
the Frenchman who wrote Democracy in America, said that the
American Republic would endure until the day that Congress realizes
it can bribe the people with the people's money. And
that's where we've gotten to, where if we just send
money all over the world and we're leaving Americans behind,

(34:56):
and literally we're leaving Americans on the streets of this country,
and we're letting poverty take over the streets of this
country because we've been more concerned about what's going on
in other places. Look, I'm not saying turn your back
on these places, but we're not in a position to
be sending the money.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
If Mark Lamb goes to Congress, he'll be the only
member there who can simultaneously chase down the bandits from
the Sinaloa cartel and quote to Toakville a sheriff. Best
of luck, stay safe on the trail, and we're pretty
sure you'll be successful.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
And thank you Matt in Mark Lamb dot us, Marklamb

Speaker 1 (38:57):
As Israeli bombings and civil conflict threats to tear down
the Gaza ceasefire deal, the Israeli Kanesseit had a controversial
vote on legislation to annex the West Bank. Prime Minister
Netanyahu's Likud party came out against the measure and actually
punished a party member for defecting to support it. But
if you remember, just last month, net nyahuo was threatening

(39:18):
to take the land. So has his stance on annexation
really changed? Did American pressure change his mind? Vice President
Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are currently in
Israel to shore up support for the Gaza ceasefire deal.
Here's what they had to say about the vote.

Speaker 10 (39:35):
Look, if it was a political stunt, it was a
very stupid political stunt, and I personally.

Speaker 6 (39:39):
Take some insult to it.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
The West Make is not going to be annexed by Israel.

Speaker 6 (39:43):
Obviously.

Speaker 13 (39:44):
I think the President's made show that's not something.

Speaker 8 (39:46):
We'd be supportive of right now, and we think there's
even threatening to the peace deals at this time.

Speaker 6 (39:50):
It's something now especially we think he might be counterproductive.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
President Trump told Time magazine that Israel would lose all
US support if it annexed the West Bank. He had
strong words in the issue that was published last month.
Take a listen.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
No, I will not allow it. It's not going to happen.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Stupid political stunt, counter productive, not gonna happen. Those are
the words of America's top diplomats and when they were
describing Israel's attempt to annex the West Bank. So the
million dollar question is will they listen? And is anyone
checking in on? Mark Levin here with us now retired
US Army officer and former advisor to the Secretary of Defense,

(40:34):
Colonel Douglas McGregor. Colonel McGregor, what do you make of
the kanesset advancing legislation to annex the West Bank? During
Vice President Vance's visit.

Speaker 4 (40:43):
Oh I thought it was somewhat humiliating for Vice President
Vance and the American people, since President Trump has made
it clear, at least publicly, that he does not want
that to happen.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Do you think that Israel will try to annex the
West Bank? Oh?

Speaker 4 (40:57):
I think they will annex the West Bank, and I
think ultimately President Trump and Vice President Vance and Secretary
of Rubio will all be expected to run interference for
them when they do it. The only way that it
could not happen would be if there was external interference
from one of the surrounding countries or more of them,
and they tried to militarily obstruct the Israelis. But barring that, absolutely,

(41:21):
the Israelis will annext the West Bank.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
We've got President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Secretary of
Rubio all saying that that would be a violation of
the Piece deal. It obviously would explicitly. Do you think
that the move by the Kanesset may have had the
effect of creating some hardening of the cement around the
position of those three key US policymakers.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
No, I think whatever they say publicly is for effect.

Speaker 5 (41:51):
They owe their offices.

Speaker 4 (41:53):
And positions in Washington to substantial support from Zionist sources
inside the United States. They were elected with the understanding
that they would bankroll this and support it. Miriam Maddeilson
made that very clear to President Trump when he met
with her, and she agreed to support him. She said,
you must support Israel's annexation of the West Bank.

Speaker 5 (42:14):
So I'm quite sure that he will.

Speaker 4 (42:16):
Now that doesn't mean that he will not continue to
at least pay lip service to what you mentioned before.
This contravenes international law, This is unacceptable under U N
resolutions and all the sort of business. But it will
change nothing, and the West Bank will be.

Speaker 6 (42:32):
A next.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
I disagree with that, mainly because I was someone privy
to those discussions, and there are actually some rather tense
moments between Mary Maddilson and President Trump when he refused
to take some of the positions that she wanted him
to take. I don't know that about the West Bank,
but I certainly know it as it relates to Gaza.
Why do you think that President Trump will take positions

(42:55):
in the future that he's not taking now.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
I think he has taking that position in private with
Miria Maddilson.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
What's your basis for that man.

Speaker 4 (43:04):
I have it on good authority from people that are
with President Trump and are working for it, and that's
being made very clear. Listen, you've got to stop listening
to what people in Washington say and look at what
they do. What have we done about Gaza? What have
we done to arrest the mass destruction of the of
the Gaza strip and the mass expulsion and murder of

(43:24):
its population.

Speaker 6 (43:25):
Nothing?

Speaker 4 (43:26):
So why are we wasting time pretending that everything is
going to change for the West Bank. It's part of
the greater Israel project. We are signed on to support that.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
I don't believe President Trump is signed on to support that,
and if he was, I think that there would be
nothing that would force him to hold. The prohibition against
annexing the West Bank is a key feature of this
deal that he has right now, and at this stage
of the game. If Netanyahu did that, you've got Trump
on record saying he would lose the support of the
United States. But I do if your if your viewpoint,

(44:00):
I do want to get a sense of what you
think the timing will be on Israel's actions.

Speaker 4 (44:05):
Well, I think the timing is almost irrelevant once you
impose Israeli law on the West Bank. You've effectively annexed it,
so it doesn't really matter when you formally announced that
it's joined Greater Israel. The point is that it is
to facto now with the imposition of Israeli law, the

(44:25):
arming of the settlers, the terrorizing the people that live
in the West Bank, it's simply unambiguous. That's where we're headed.
It's effectively going to happen. So I'll be very interested
to see if President Trump suddenly turns around and changes
his position. Now, over the last several days, we've seen
President Trump change his position dramatically with Russia. So I

(44:47):
suppose if you can turn around one hundred and eighty
degrees and go from working towards a solution to raising sanctions,
imposing more sanctions, and refusing to meet.

Speaker 5 (44:58):
You could do something that with the Best Bank. But
I have my doubts.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
I think with Russia what you're seeing is more of
an analog to what he did with Kim in North Korea,
where it's a lot of fire and ice. It's either
I'm going to blow you up with my larger button,
nor it's I love you. And I think he may
be kind of attempting to cajole Putin to the better
angels of his nature with that type of an approach.

(45:23):
But before we get to Ukraine and Russia, there was
this thing about the Turks that I wanted to ask
you about, because there's all this controversy over the Turks
being part of the security force in Gaza. Turkey's and
NATO ally israel Is very opposed to their presence in Gaza.
Why do you think that's the case.

Speaker 5 (45:41):
Well, let's be frank.

Speaker 4 (45:43):
Mister Airdiwan has being very unfavorable in his characterization of
the Israelis and all of his public speeches. The hatred
the hostility to Israel inside Turkey isn't at all time high.
It's certainly as high as it is anywhere.

Speaker 5 (45:57):
Else in the Middle East.

Speaker 4 (45:59):
The Turks the only people in the region with a
substantial military force on the ground that could actually threaten Israel.
And mister Airdowan has promised in his public speeches, quote unquote,
we will march into Jerusalem, we will enter Gaza.

Speaker 5 (46:15):
These statements have been made.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
If I were in mister in net Yahu's shoes, I
wouldn't want them anywhere is near me Because if the
Turks go into a place like Gaza, they'll never come out,
that's very clear.

Speaker 1 (46:27):
The Saudis also seem to want to have a major
role in the Gaza rebuild. What do you think are
the key dynamics at play there?

Speaker 5 (46:36):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (46:37):
I think the Saudis, frankly, have turned out, like most
of the peninsular Arabs, to be for sale. If you
offer them enough in terms of monetary advantage, financial reward,
then they'll do business with you. Their populations right now
are very, very hostile to it, but the leadership has

(46:57):
turned out to be pathetic.

Speaker 5 (47:00):
Thank you. They could be bought.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
And what that means is anybody's guests. As long as
they profit, they probably don't care. And again I'm talking
about the leadership, not the people that live in Saudi Arabia.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
Yeah, I hope that what we see in Gaza is
not another like Afghanistan style rebuild where a bunch of
American money goes in and then it gets washed through
markets in Abu Dhabhi and Dubai and wherever else in
the world. But I do want to now look at
where we are in this Russia Ukraine conflict. We've got

(47:33):
some reporting here at one American news that there's still
optimism on the part of the Russians to have this
meeting with President Trump in Budapest. Do you think it'll happen.

Speaker 4 (47:43):
First of all, President Putin is not mister Kim in Korea,
so let's not confuse those two. You're talking about two
very different states to different powers. President Putin has said
that he thinks dialogue is always preferable to confrontation. He
said that within the last twenty four hours, so he said, yes,

(48:04):
we're willing to talk. He said, however, and he's made
this point before, there has to be preparation. When President
Trump and his team walked in previously in Anchorage, they
had not prepared anything. They had not read any of
the Russian positions. I think President Trump thought that he
was going to charm President Putin and his team and

(48:24):
walk out with some sort of an agreement to ceasefire.
That's being made clear from the beginning that will not happen.
So if he's going to hitch his wagon to a
ceasefire sixty day, ninety day, whatever it turns out to be,
that allows the Ukrainians to reequip, but more mercenaries to
come into the country to try and fill out the
ranks in the Ukrainian ground force. That's not going to happen.

(48:47):
So I think President Putin wants to avoid a conflict.
He would like to have agreement. But if you look
at the Russian forces right now on the ground, they've
now crossed the Theeppa River on the southern end of
the Nieppa. They are on the west side now. I
think they will ultimately go into Odessa. They are making
major gains in Zabarisha and further north to Petrovsk and

(49:09):
any number of different cities. Slavonsky Leman, I think they're
going to move now more decisively to the west. And
you know, I don't know what we can expect to
happen in a future negotiation when the Russians occupy and
control more territory than they do now.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
It is also very difficult to have that negotiation if
Russia is moving the battle lines substantially, and based on
your description, it seems to be very possible in the
coming weeks ahead. Colonel Douglas McGregor, thank you was always
for coming on and sharing your viewpoint.

Speaker 5 (49:41):
Sure, thank you, man, and coming up.

Speaker 1 (49:43):

Speaker 1 (52:03):
Ever, a recent law enacted in California is the most
comprehensive regulation of artificial intelligence in America. We want to
explore what it does. We watched how car regulations in
California became an industry standard nationally, so could AI regulation
follow the same path. Keep in mind this is happening

(52:25):
because there really isn't federal regulation of AI. According to
the new California law, frontier developers of very large AI
models must publish safety frameworks, report critical incidents and provide
whistleblower protections. The law creates fines up to one million
dollars per violation. Critics argue the law favors large companies

(52:48):
and hinder smaller startups with this imposition of massage massive
compliance costs. Some welcome the law as a step forward
for oversight and risk management of powerful AI systems. There
are others who believe it doesn't go far enough to
constrain the robots that might rule us all joining us now.
Founder and president of Market Rhythm A Larry Ward. Larry,

(53:08):
what's your read on the new California AI law that
regulates these frontier platforms.

Speaker 15 (53:15):
That's pretty interesting because you know, there are some of
the things that in spirit I agree with, like having
watermarks and having some of the transparency where they're getting
their data from. Particularly publishers need to be transparent on
their websites. However, you know, in reality it's just it's
just kind of for show.

Speaker 6 (53:34):
Because here's the deal.

Speaker 15 (53:36):
You can you can have you have to have a
million users for it to be enforceable, but you can
download Deep Seeker. You can download Meta onto your personal computer.
Now you have a user of one, you can create
these videos and it doesn't need a watermark. And in addition,
you know, in today's world, when you have a video
that you maybe download from chat GPT and it's got

(53:58):
the Sora watermark on it, you could easily remove that
and distribute it. There's no the only the only people
who are held accountable to this are the actual producers
of the video, the AI producers in the video, not
the people actually distributing it. So it doesn't really prevent
the deep fakes. Potentially, we're coming up to an election

(54:20):
in November and in twenty twenty six where deep fakes
can actually be especially last minute deep fakes can actually
be really consequential. And there really is no heath to
this law.

Speaker 1 (54:33):
That's why I wanted to have you on to discuss
it because I do believe we are we are entering
the frontier of AI regulation and one of the limiting
principles is just going to be how effective you can
enforce the vision you have for a regulatory paradigm. Given
the shortfalls you see in the California law, are their remedies?

Speaker 15 (54:54):
Well, the first thing is there's you know, one of
the things that's in here. It says, you know, it'll
have transparent data. And you know how I feel about
the sources of data that that these models are being
trained on, like the New York Times and the Washington
Post and not O n N or the post millennial
Human Events and some of the conservative publications, and so
so they they you could, they have to put it

(55:15):
on there, but they don't actually have to have any balance.

Speaker 1 (55:18):
So that's number one.

Speaker 15 (55:19):
So that that should be remedied in in a law,
and I think that's something President Trump should should do,
uh immediately. The second part is is you know, they
they should actually mandate not only the that AI content,
you know, the the video content be watermarked from the producers.
But they they've got to they've got to get rid

(55:39):
of the million users. Uh you know, it basically makes
it completely toothless. And they they have to make it
punishable to the to the people who are distributing this content.
So if there's AI content being distributed on social.

Speaker 1 (55:53):
Networks, this is this is a common problem we have
in this publisher versus non public with sure analysis that
we see in tech all the time.

Speaker 15 (56:03):
One hundred percent, this has to be and and and
by the way, the California law, you know is also
questionable because can they enforce interstate law and and so
this has to be federally done. And and you know,
we have to get together and decide what does it
mean to have AI and service of humanity as opposed
to this this reckless AI that can really hurt hurt us.

Speaker 1 (56:26):
In the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, there was this
contemplated preemption that would have stopped the California law. It
was Marjorie Taylor Green and Marshall Blackburn who worked together
to get that preemption taken out of President Trump's signature legislation.
Is there any irony here in the fact that MTG
is the one who has created a permission structure for

(56:47):
California to impose this regulatory regime.

Speaker 15 (56:51):
You know it is, But you know, you know, the
the the thing is is that you know, I think
all of us and and and forget about party for
a second. All of us have to take AI and
and the threat seriously. And we have to come together
and say what what are the ethics that the ethical
foundations that we need here? And and you know the
only thing that seems to make the news, especially in

(57:13):
the tech news, is the next model or it can
do this new great thing where it can take this
new job, you know, from people, and we're not actually saying,
you know, do we want it to do these things?
And do we want to have you know, this type
of AI that's that's basically running our lives.

Speaker 1 (57:29):
Larry Ward one of the great ethicists that we that
we want to seek feedback on on these critical questions.
Appreciate you coming on the program and sharing your expertise.

Speaker 6 (57:38):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
