Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hey, welcome back to
Transform your Life.
Just Count Me In the podcastwhere miracles, mindset and
transformation meet.
I am your host, sari Stone, andtoday we're going to dive into
a sacred, powerful, sometimesdeeply personal and painful
topic forgiveness.
So we're in the season oftransformation now.
(00:28):
We've been talking about that, and spring is for many of us,
where everything in nature isletting go of the old and
blooming into the new.
The lunar cycle also supportsthis flow.
We're in a waning moon cycleand it prepares to begin new, to
become a new moon next, sowe're invited to also shed what
(00:49):
no longer serves us.
In doing so, there were someareas that I noticed that I
needed to practice a little bitof forgiveness in.
So here's to you if there's anyaspect of this that resonates
with you, I hope you get valuefrom it.
Forgiveness is an energeticspring cleaning.
(01:10):
You don't need anybody'spermission, you just need to be
willing to be free.
Forgiveness is not just aboutsaying it's okay, I'm moving on,
which I used to think it was.
It's more so about settingourselves free.
Wayne Dyer, who I have a greatamount of respect for, said when
(01:32):
you forgive, you in no waychange the past, but you sure do
change the future.
Today we're going to explorehow forgiveness can become your
superpower, your, your emotionaldetox and your soul's
invitation to freedom.
So why does forgiveness evenmatter?
I'm a Y girl so I always liketo do the research to find out.
(01:56):
And according to the MayoClinic and Harvard Health, they
both show that forgiveness islinked to lower blood pressure,
reduced anxiety, better hearthealth, even a stronger immune
system.
But more than physical health, forgiveness gives us an
emotional liberation, emotionalfreedom.
(02:17):
To the extent that we'reholding on to things we're not
able to be fully present withour lives.
It's like having programs open, too many files running on your
computer and when I tell myhusband the computer is not
working well, he'll always saywhat do you have?
You have all these thingsrunning, no wonder.
Close all these too manywindows open too many files
(02:40):
running.
And when you've not forgiven, when you're holding on to
resentment for somebody orsomething that happened to you,
it drains you.
My good friend in Colorado is arecovering alcoholic and I mean
it's been 40 years now but shestill considers herself that.
And in AA they tell them todrop the rock.
(03:03):
And that means when you'reholding grudge, when you're
holding resentment, when you'venot forgiven.
It's like you're walking aroundwith a rock in your shoe and it
doesn't hurt that personanymore.
They're over it.
They don't even know you'rethinking about it.
It hurts you.
So their motto is drop the rock.
(03:23):
And I really took a lot ofvalue from that.
Forgiveness just slows yourwhole process of evolution down.
Esther Hicks, channeling Abraham, reminded us that holding
resentment is like tuning into afrequency that keeps us
completely disconnected from oursource.
From our source.
We can't be connected to thechannel of love and joy and
(03:46):
gratitude while we're connectedto anger and victimization.
Deepak Chopra also explainsthat it's a form of releasing
energetic toxins.
So forgiveness is not just achoice.
It's actually an act of deep, deep self-care on a physical
level.
Forgiveness is not really anact of deep, deep self-care on a
(04:07):
physical level.
Forgiveness is not really anact.
It's more like a portal and itallows us to reclaim energy and
realign with our soul's truth, with our path home.
There was a time in my life whenforgiveness was really
challenging.
It felt impossible.
The pain was too raw, too deep.
I was in the middle of it, butthen miracles taught me
(04:30):
otherwise, whether it washealing from a trauma, healing
from relationships that didn'twork out, or even forgiving
myself for things, which was thehardest.
I've learned that grace isalways possible.
Forgiveness is not about sayingit's okay that it happened.
It's about releasing the burden, and sometimes the hardest
(04:54):
person to forgive is ourselves.
So we forgive the person, notthe act, not the action.
So let's talk for a little bitabout what you can do and please
contact me and share with mewhat you're doing in this line
of work, because it comes up.
(05:14):
We think we've forgiveneverything, and we've forgiven
everything that we can at that,at that time, at that level, at
that vibration, and then somemore things might come up for us
as we evolve.
So let's do it together.
Here are some beautiful, nourishing practices for
forgiveness.
So there's a lunar forgivenessritual.
I'm getting more and more intouch with the moon, just
(05:37):
basically because my daughter iseducating me about this, and
this is for the waning moon, ora new moon.
We're currently in a waningmoon cycle.
This is going to be releasedApril 21st, I believe.
So you can take a moment, get apencil and paper, write down
what you're ready to forgivewhether it's a person, a
(05:57):
situation or even yourself andwrite it out in great detail, as
much as you want and you canwrite out all the hurt.
You can write out all of youremotions.
You can write out the wholeexperience and then just forgive
it Under the moonlight, read itout loud and then burn the
(06:18):
paper in a safe place and, asthe smoke rises, say I release
this with love.
I free myself and others.
I choose peace.
This is especially powerfulduring the waning moon for
release, or a new moon for newbeginnings.
So two different times you cando this, where the lunar energy
(06:40):
is going to support your work.
There's also a Hawaiianforgiveness mantra and we use
this in yoga when we're talkingabout the stages of healing and
connecting with our bodies, andyou just repeat quietly.
And you just repeat quietly I'msorry, please forgive me, thank
(07:03):
you, I love you.
And you can say it to any partof your body that's injured or
any part of your soul that'sinjured.
So it's I'm sorry, pleaseforgive me, thank you, I love
you".
And my students report thatthey've had amazing results with
(07:24):
this.
The fact about it is that itreprograms your emotional
frequency and it actually allowsfor some pretty deep healing.
I also followed Louise Hay foryears and she did a lot of
mirror work really, reallypowerful.
Her practice was to say to lookinto the mirror and say I
forgive you, I love you, Iaccept you as you are, and you
(07:50):
can even write that right onyour mirror.
I have my kids that I work withwrite things on their mirror
all the time, and I have thingswritten on my mirror.
If you use a dry erase markerit comes right off.
So for a journaling prompt, youcan think about these questions
.
Just to extend your thinkingand go a little deeper, you're
(08:11):
welcome to pause this or comeback to it.
Who or what am I ready toforgive?
And be honest, get as much outas you can.
The more you empty, the deeperyou fill.
The next question is what am Igaining by holding on?
(08:34):
So when my coach asked me this,I got pretty annoyed with her,
and usually when I got annoyedit meant that she was hitting a
nerve and that was a good thing.
So because you do kind of get apayoff from holding grudge, it
means you can blame that personfor things and not be moving on
(08:55):
in your own life.
You can kind of hide fromthings or you can avoid
relationships.
You can avoid having potentialconflicts with people, but
mostly it hurts you when you'venot forgiven something.
It puts you in a whole healingplace when you start to forgive.
And the next question is whatwould it feel like to be free?
(09:19):
Picture yourself free, healed, whole, awake, aware.
Mother Teresa said if we reallywant to love, we must learn how
to forgive.
(09:40):
Jesus was also quoted as sayingForgive them.
They know not what they do,meaning, in my opinion, they
were unconscious, they were notawake, they were not connected.
So let's take a minute togetherand if you're driving, don't do
(10:02):
this part.
Save it for later.
If you're not driving andyou're able to do this, just
close your eyes and take abreath in and a longer breath
out.
Actually, if you can lay on yourstomach to do this, it's
actually a very powerfulpractice too.
(10:23):
Lay on your stomach to do this,it's actually a very powerful
practice too.
Breathe in deeply into yourstomach and then into your back
body and exhale.
So breathe in and exhale andlet go.
(10:52):
Repeat to yourself I forgive, Ilet go, I am free.
I forgive, I let go, I am free.
You are not defined by yourwounds.
You are defined by yourwillingness to heal.
Every step you take in thedirection of forgiveness is a
(11:17):
step towards your wholeness.
