This month on the YFWM podcast we have the very special guest Hamish Mcnab. Well known in the Melbourne music scene for his performing in many rock bands over the years, his work as a live sound engineer, producer and as the organizer and founder of the Freedom Arts Movement, (an organization that hosts mini backyard festivals across Melbourne each year). This was the very first episode of the podcast, recorded back in February 2024, so thanks to Hamish for christening the ship with me. All parts loose, fun, deep and profound, this conversation really runs the full gamut.
Also included in the pod is Hamish's favourite Melbourne institution(s), somewhat unable to contain his love for the scene, he broke the rules and shouted out five venues! Unfortunately two; the Gasometer Hotel and Whole Lotta Love have closed down since this pod, which just means we all need to make sure to get down and give the much needed love, support and beer money to the legendary Cherry Bar, Shotkickers and Bergy Seltzer. Support your local music scene guys and, as always, please support your local pod.
