The US men's basketball team has won a fifth straight
gold medal.

That was Steph Curry knocking down twenty four points overall,
including four to three pointers in the last three minutes,
all of his points coming from beyond the arc. Team
USA has a new record holder. Olivia Reeves earned the
gold in women's weightlifting Friday. She says, a lot needs
to go right to win a medal.

She lifted two hundred and fifty eight pounds to break
the previous record. Team USA continues to dominate the world
medal count. They stand at one hundred and twenty two medals.
China second with ninety. Great Britain has sixty three, one
more than host country France. The Americans have a big
lead in the silver and bronze, but they do trail
China in the gold medal category thirty nine to thirty eight.

They hope they at least tie that mark when they
play women's basketball against France. That's nine thirty Eastern time.
