Speaker 2 (00:03):
All right, here we go, Mario Courtney Lopez, you're back
behind the mic to hang out with you for a
few hours on this Memorial Day, and make sure you
stick around because we're going to get to know the
kids from the new menu though when they join us
in studio.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
A little later.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
Plus we'll talk double one, hit wonders, reveal the best
and worst tippers, squeeze in some buzz, and just a
few songs away from asking a random question. So turn
it up. You are on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Hey, you're on Mario Courtney Lopez. Let's put a spotlight
on my wire. It's time for Courtney's random question.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
What you got honey?
Speaker 4 (00:36):
What is the first show you ever binged?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
I know this and it's a good one. Might be
one of the best ones ever. Actually, first show I
ever binged, and I did it in three days, breaking bad.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Oh, And I'll tell you what.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
I enjoyed the whole process, and I really liked it
because I had the.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Time to do it. I don't have any time anymore
to do.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I was I sick. Why did you have the time
did you like did you.
Speaker 6 (01:00):
Never like prior to like, you know, all the streaming
stuff and everything and being available on demand, did you
ever like get a DVD collection of shows and binge
those I got.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
DVD collections of shows, but I never binged. Okay, you
know this because of streaming. Ryeah, it's very easy. And
I hadn't watched Breaking Bad and it was buzzy and
was getting all because it was on AMC and I
just couldn't find it. When it ended up on streaming,
I decided to give it a shot and then I
was hooked and boom, and I think, like in three
days I watched them all and it was so enjoyable,
(01:29):
well worth it.
Speaker 6 (01:30):
That's a lot of violence in three days.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yeah, but I mean I loved it.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
But if it was a bad show would have sucked, right,
But it was such a great show you would be
able to play it.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
So I made But how did I have the time?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I remember Blanket was in town too. It was like
a vacation, like it was like it was like Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Kelly Rowland are getting Judge contestants only on their voice,
as they're never actually going to see them.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
It's kind of like the voice, but it's called breakthrough.
That's kind of interesting. And don't forget that. You can
listen to us on this podcast as well.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
And we may say once in a while too.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Yeah, you know what, you would not break through.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
You know what. I don't like the lack of comment.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
You would not be the chow voice.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Syer music cold as I just search on with Mario
judge for yourself. What up Mario Lopez here? Hope you're
ready for a Barbie summer. We're gonna be seeing a
lot of pink, not only because of the Margo Robbie movie,
but also coming to TV the Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge. Ashley
Graham will be turning homes into life size dollhouses.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Wait, why very practical? That is so bizarre.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
So Barbie is coming in hot this summer. All right,
let's get back to music. What up Mario Lopez here?
Hope you're ready for a Barbie summer. We're gonna be
seeing a lot of pink, not only because of the
Margot Robbie movie, but also coming to TV the Barbie
Dreamhouse Challenge. Ashley Graham will be turning homes into life
(03:05):
size dollhouses.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Wait, why very practical? That is so bizarre.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
So Barbie is coming in hot this summer. All right,
let's get back to music. Yeah, i'mar Courtney Lopez with
a bit of sad news to share. My TV dad
from Saved by the Bell, actor Gerald Gastello, passed away
a few days ago at the age of ninety, which
is a nice full life. I worked with him when
(03:31):
he played Major Slater, who was a C. Slater's father
on Save by the Bell back in the early nineties.
He was on all kinds of other shows too over
the years, General Hospital, Night Court, CSI, Dynasty, Dallas, Mash,
a whole bunch more So, he had a nice full career.
I believe we only worked together for a couple of episodes,
and from what I remember, just a really nice guy. Yeah,
(03:51):
and I just thought he looks nothing like my real dad.
Nothing like my real dad, but obviously could pass for
my dad. So God bless him and his family.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Renow more Mario Lopez on the.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Way, What up? Mario Lopez. Here was some quick buzz
for you.

in this one. Very nice to see her. Ran into
her the other day. As a matter of fact, she's
aged very well.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Maybe we're gonna see some more old school cameos in
the future. All right, more music now.
Speaker 2 (04:24):

gone this big in such a short amount of time.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
It's crazy.
Speaker 8 (05:01):
It's crazy. Well, you know, I feel very excited for
you know, for everything in general. And it's also more
like a learning experience.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
So amazing.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Now when you when you all heard about this talent search,
this audition, did you want to audition right away?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Did? Did? It takes some convincing, So my mom.
Speaker 9 (05:27):
Signed me up for this audition, and I go through
a lot of I used to go through a lot
of auditions, so I just thought it was another audition.
But then I got a call back, then another callback
on a zoom and then here I am, and here
we are.
Speaker 8 (05:41):
You know, my family has like a history of manula
because my mom used to go like under the fences
just to watch a second generation manula. So yeah, she
used to go, like my godmother every single time to
the concerts just to watch her manula more than anything.
Like how Estra said, it was like just like any
other audition, But it took like a little bit of convincing,
(06:03):
but it was you know, it was worth it.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
All right.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Well, I want everyone to get to know you guys,

Really nothing.
Speaker 8 (07:50):
I don't watch movies, I don't watch series.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Why is that?
Speaker 8 (07:53):
It's just my attention spends like very short, and I
just get bored very quickly. I just need something like
that keeps me faced.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
You know, So you're on your phone? Are you watching YouTube?
Speaker 8 (08:00):
Mostly on my phone and watching YouTube, It's just it's
just a short TESSI span.

My favorite moment is just when we get on stage.
It's just an incredible feeling that we're about to perform,
We're about to sing what we've been working on for
the past like two three, four months, and it's just
an amazing feeling. The first time you feel it, it's
just so good.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
I'd say you made And other people I've seen, you know,
the people that go that you go around with, and
they say like, like, we went to like New York

to when you see on back in Miami our home basically,
and now we're here, we may tell you how radio shows.
I met one of my favorite artists, Pink Panthers, and.
Speaker 8 (09:08):
Awesome, great, you know, just building this from the ground
up and adapting to like a whole new environment. For
me and I think for everyone it was like just
such you know, it was just so much fun.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Did you have a favorite moment? Ezra Live GMA, iHeart

but you don't use Let me tell you.
Speaker 8 (10:05):
It's just I had like ten hours in TikTok every
single day, so I just had to like unstall at
one point because it just got too serious. It just
really affected me, and not.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Honestly, I really had, so I would recommend more hours,
but like it's okay, it.

for you.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Netflix maybe getting into gaming just right that they're working
on games that you would play on TV using your
phone as a controller.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
That's wild. Could be cool though. All right, more music now,
y'are mar Courney Lopez. So we were on a little
one hit wonder kick earlier in the month. I thought
of a new category, the double one hit wonder artists
who were a one hit wonder with a band and
a solo artist.
Speaker 8 (11:16):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
So we found two, maybe even a third. Who do
we got, honey?
Speaker 4 (11:20):
So we have House of Pain jump around nineteen ninety two.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
I came Nick get Down.
Speaker 10 (11:25):
I came Nick It Down Down.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
That's now become a classic.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Then he went solo Everlast What It's Like nineteen ninety eight.
Was I like that song?
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (11:48):
And it is different, sounds good Forever Lass That was
a good Jim.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Steeler's Wheel Stuck in the Middle song seventy three, Oh the.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
The right Stuck Jue.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Okay, this great song, and it just reminds you of
Reservoir Dogs perfectly used. That was an awesome song with
an awesome lead singer.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Then he went solo. Jerry Rafferty with Baker Street nineteen
seventy eight.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Another great song, Great Sacks. That was fantastic. Steelers Wheel
and Jerry Rafferty both awesome.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
What else Orange Juice Rip it up. It was a
UK hit in nineteen seventy nine.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
It up and so again, rip it.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Up and start again.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Wow, okay, aught, you better rip.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
That letter up and start again. And then you went
from OJ to solo Edwin Collins A Girl like You
in ninety five.
Speaker 8 (12:59):
Good.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
That was a fun little fact right there. I imagine
there are others are gonna have to revisit this more.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Mario Lopez on the way, Mario Courtney Lopez here, let's
put a spotlight on my wife.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
It is temp for Courtney's random thought.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
What you got?
Speaker 4 (13:16):
You know, there is actually no good reason why socks
need to be matched.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
I respectfully disagree.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
I disagree as well, because well, I guess they don't
need to in order for them to function.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yes, but I think it's distracting. If you have your
socks one blue and one brown.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Let's say, if your pants on and boots and nobody
sees it.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
If you have boots on, correct, that's the only exception
outside of boots you gotta match.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Mario Courtney Lopez here, we got another message in our inbox.
We love hearing from you. This one is from James
Rickman in Texas. Can y'all play Flowers by Mirley SyRS.
Please I'm door dashing the night and it's gonna be
a long night. That song really gets my mood going.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Yes, honey, thank you for door dashing because people like
me who order it really appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Guys, good looking out James, appreciate the listen. We're gonna
try to get that in the mix for you. If
you want to leave us a message like James did,

your iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yamaro, Courtney Lopez and Fraser's got something he wants to
bring up.

Speaker 10 (14:24):
Fifty fow yes getting closer.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Oh, sir, cannot believe it.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
I don't have the day count in front of me.
But what I do have is some advice for you
from someone else who is old like you are going
to be. Let this one hundred and four year old
lady who has the secret to life, which apparently is
three doctor Pepper's a day.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
You're drinking doctor pepper right now.
Speaker 10 (14:48):
It's exactly right.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Why this stuff is good.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
It's got sugar and three two doctors have told me
that if I drink it, I will die, but they die.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Yes, he is a gangster toy, but they died first. Boom,
Mike drop right there. That's hysterical. That is up there.
My girl was what one hundred and three, so one
and four hundred and four. That's she's like up there
with like Noah, yeah and Methuselah.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
More fun on the way On with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Mario Lopez here, My wife Cordy, let's say quick logo,
what's turning on her website?
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Harry Styles covers one direction at a recent concert. Oh okay,
Ed Sheeran joins forces with Luke Combs on stage.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
He's in a good mood since went in that lawsuit.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
And the celebrity Tom Cruise is rumored to be dating now.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
They're just kind of trying to force that to happen.
It's so silly. You can see what everyone's talking about.
It on with Mario dot com. What aut Mario Lopez here?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
And it's hard to believe that The Simpsons recently celebrated
their seven hundred and fiftieth episode. That is incredible, and
with seasons thirty five and thirty six already in the works,
they're gonna easily break eight hundred.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Wow, what am I gonna be a guest star?
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Like?
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Come on on with Mario Courtney Lopez. Final hour for
us on this Memorial Day.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
And I think we're gonna squeeze in a few celeb
birthdays as always. Fraser's gonna tell us who's turning a
year older, and we're gonna try to guess the ages.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
Riley Keo from Daisy Jones and the Six. It's Elvis
Presley's granddaughter.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
Riley is thirty five.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
I'm gonna say she's twenty five, thirty four.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
Oh wow, Okay, Scary Spice Melanie Brown from The Spice Girls.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Forty eight fifty one, forty eight is correct?
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Eh?
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Noel Gallagher from Oasis, he's fifty he is forty eight
fifty six okay.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Melissa Ethridge, Wow, he's on with it. Melissa Ethridge, I'm
gonna say is sixty.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
One, Melissa, she is sixty five, sixty two.
Speaker 6 (16:53):
And finally someone we had in studio wants LaToya Jackson.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
LaToya she yeah, janis the Babies.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
I'm gonna say LaToya is sixty four, sixty sixty seven.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
More. Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Mario Lopez here, my wife Courtney just found this out
about Ed Sheeran. Did you know he has jay Z
to collab on his giant hit Shape of You, and
Hub actually turned him down.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Big mistake.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Wow, that is a big mistake. I would think that,
you know, there are certain artists out there that you
would just kind of do anything.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
With, right, he should be one of them.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Wout Mario Lopez here, got to give a shout out
to Keenan Thompson and kel Mitchell. It's taken twenty five years,
but they're finally reuniting for Good Murder two. It's coming
out on Paramount Plus later this year. The original was
kind of.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
A cult classic for nineties kids.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
All right, more music now, John Mario Courtney Lopez. So
I was reading the stats of tipping. The best tipping
city in America is Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Oh hi, all right?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Can Cleveland represented coming in at twenty point six percent
on average. The worst tipping city is Los Angeles seventeen
point five percent. My theory is everything is already so
expensive in Los Angeles, people can't.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Afford to be that generous.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
That's what I think.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
By the way, seventeen point five percent is a lot
higher than I would think. I thought they'd be closer
to like ten.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
To twelve, right, No, oh my gosh. Well, at the
state level, the most generous state is Delaware at twenty
one point eight percent.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Well, Delaware has got like fifteen people that live there,
so I think I think all of them are.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Yeah, when you add it all together exactly.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Well.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
The least generous state is US California.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yailed it again.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
The most expensive state to live in, Yeah, lower the
cost and maybe people will be a little more generous.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Tell Mario what you think on Twitter. At On with
Mario More Mario Lopez on.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
The Way That's Gonna do It, Tom Rolls at Home
