California is the producer of over a third of the country's vegetables and two-thirds of the country's fruits and nuts. As a major producer for America's food supply chain there can be fair amount of stress placed on farmers and farm workers. The California Department of Food and Agriculture launched a website in early 2022 with mental health resources for farmers, ranchers, and farmworkers. Esmeralda Mandujano, Community Health Program Manager & Health Educator with the Biological and Agricultural Engineering (Dept at UC Davis), joins the show to discuss the program and how it can be utilized for mental health support in our rural communities.
