Speaker 3 (00:30):
Hey, welcome back to gun talk. You know, of course
we talk a good bit about bear guns here, and
I'm convinced that everybody wants a bear gun. I don't
care if you live in Miami Beach. Here you want
to be ready for that bear that runs down the sidewalk.
But we got a guy here, Fridavirus, who has a
real bear story. We're joined right now by Rob Lakey
from Simply Rugged Holsters. Rob, you were just tell me

(00:52):
that you had your own bear story that kind of
led to maybe one of your holster innovations. You want
to tell that story?

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (00:59):
Sure, I was flesh up on the rush and there
was the midnight opener fished all night and you really
got to be sighte gassing there or I do to
catch fish, and I wasn't catching fish, So I was
headed back to the truck and I stopped at.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Daylight and was fishing by myself.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
My buddies were behind me.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Russian rivers on the keene I Peninsula and Alaska.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
Correct it flows into the very famous Keeneye River, and yeah,
it's gin clear, beautiful water. The keen Eye is that
neat aquamarine. But I was there by myself early.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
In the morning.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
The rivers about I don't know, oh seventy feet across there,
about two feet deep, and I'd been wearing a sour
dough pancake, you know, or a seminole kind of signature
holster on my belt under my knee of creating chest
waiters and nice and safe there. But it was a
little slow to get to and I wasn't thinking about that.

(01:57):
I was putting new weights on it and I can't out.
And as I looked up to cast out, there was
a bear on the other side of the river, really
nice blondish red, beautiful furred bear, and he's looking very
intently at me. And then as soon as I realized
he was there. He came at me, just you know,
digging in head down, you know. As I was reaching

(02:19):
for my forty four, I realized, Wow, this really sucks.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
If he hits me right.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
Now, I'm going to be like a burrito for him,
and I all wrapped up.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
He can get right through that near free and get
to you.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Oh yeah, And this is all going through my head
as he's coming across the water.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
It happened in.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Seconds, and some guys came out on the trail, two
men and a teenager. They said hi, and I went
bear to go bear, and they stood next to me,
which was perfect. One of them pulled out a GP
one hundred, and I pulled out my forty four bag
or I had it out by then. And I remember

(02:58):
thinking this mountain and seems really small superimposed on that
bear's face, you know.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Yeah, And I was like, and.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
I really didn't want to shoot the bear, but I
didn't want them to get to me because they liked
that on that river, they're so used to pushing people
off the bank. And then they robbed their stringer of fish. Well,
he would have been very disappointed with me. So and
these guys fortunately stood next to me stood stood fast,
and the bear kind of looked, oh, now there's a

(03:31):
big group of people here and turned around and we're
all looking at each other, looking at the bear, and
the bear turned around and took off, and we're all like, wow,
that was awesome.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
They went their way. I went my way.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
None of my friends believed me, but one none of
their family believed them, and fortunately we met up at
Gwynn's ludge eating breakfast and they went there is you know,
simply we confirmed each other's stories.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
It was fun. But to that I designed the chesty
powler holster.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
That's the chest holster, so you can wear that on
the outside of gun driving on your chest and you
wear onf of your waiters, because I mean, a belt
holster is good until.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
It's not exactly exactly. And it was just an idea.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I thought, I build one for myself and see how
it worked, and I wore it around fishing and all
the guys.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
I build me one of those.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
The same time, my friend David Johnson from Diamond d
Leather came up with this guide's choice and we showed
up at the Wassolla Pond or the Wascilla High School
Gun Show and both eager to show each other our
new inventions. Were like, oh, this is what ladies must
feel like when they wear the same dress to the

(04:48):
to the party.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
You know.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Oh that's funny. Up with the same idea all so,
I mean, And one of the guys that you know,
we know who probably knows as much about bears and
bear counter as anybody is the folks over at Buffalo Boar,
Tim Sundles. And I know that you talk with Tim
good Man. I guess you're doing a thing with him now.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Oh yeah, Tim.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
I've built holsters for Tim and Kim his wife for
several years now. You know Onesie toozy and he likes
two of everything because he's.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Got two places.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
He texted me from Africa and I knew he didn't
have my number, but I knew Jeff Hoover was over there,
Jeff Pank Hoover, another friend. They were hounting together, and
he texted me. He says, hey, you want to produce
that shoulder holster full time? I don't need a dime,
he says, just name it after me, name it the
Sundles ready, rig I said sure, And I figured we

(05:45):
build a couple of those a.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Week you know, great, No, we're building a couple of
day Wow. So it is.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Yeah, changed the whole thing. We went from two to
three weeks, we're four or five weeks.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
So that's all on the website, simply rugged dot com.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yes, the Sundal's ready.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Okay, all right, So tell me what's going on. I mean,
I know that for a long time, all the cool
kids were going kaydex and poo poo in the idea
of leather. I sais a turnaround?

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Yes, I do too. I it was boy five years ago,
was like you could count the well known leather houlture
companies on one finger, and now a bunch of people
are getting into it. The trend I also see is
we've always focused on revolvers, but now our customers are really,

(06:34):
really hyper focused on revolvers. And we see a neat
trend where these guys under forty and under thirty are
buying revolvers.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
And I see it in my shop too.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
These these guys I got working for me are all
thirties and forties, and they're just grilling me every day.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
What about this?

Speaker 4 (06:55):
What about this? What about this?

Speaker 5 (06:57):
I want to get one of these?

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Should I get this?

Speaker 5 (06:58):
You know?

Speaker 4 (06:59):
What and they're all, what's driving revolver?

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Well, I mean, obviously you have less capacity, but you
got kind of a retro cool factor. I get that.
I call revolvers the stick shift of handguns. Yes, you
know what's going on.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
I think two things.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Is one, the deliberate shooting and that level and range
of power you can get with the revolver. And of
course you have to be deliberate with them because you
don't have AMMO to waste. But that was something back in,
you know, until autos came along, you did not spray
and pray. You made your shots count and they liked

(07:38):
that aspect of it. I think the nostalgia of it,
and I think the convenience.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
You know, your revolver is one package.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
You know, you got extra AMMO, but it's all right there,
and it's they're attractive and a work of art where
you know.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
How many glocks do you want? You want? You know,
a big wanted, a little one, maybe a big big one,
you know, but then you got it.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
You got this plastic and steel thing that very functional
and it's as exciting as a fire extinguish.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
We also have more revolver models out, I mean the
very idea that Kimber makes a revolver, not only that,
a good revolver, and then you yes the other ones,
you think, okay, there's something happening here.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Ye oh yeah, it's neat to see new companies come online.
Diamond back with their stuff, and Charter Arms is up
their game, and Chorus has revamped.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Their whole line. Oh yeah, And so it's a neat time.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
It's we're seeing this renaissance that you know, John Taffan
was talking about twenty years ago, is really becoming something
else with Smith dropping the log you know, bringing back
the python and they're kind of de framish size, you know.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Yeah, you've got the Mountain guns coming back from Smith.
You got all sorts of things. Let me just and
I'm just about out of time here, let me drive
people to your website, simply rugged dot com. You make
really good leather holsters and belts and all the other
accessories and all. And you know, you got a good
team of people, and you're good folks and you're making
them right there in Arizona.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Yes, I thank you very much, Tom, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
I appreciate your time. Robin a great story. I'm glad
you ended up on the good side. Nobody got hurt
in the bear story, but you came away with a
great story. Man.

California welcome back to Gun, talk the place where we

Speaker 3 (11:48):
Amendment we're at a tough place right, now and by
THAT i mean the results of the action Last tuesday
With Mom donnie winning In New, York Radical, democrats crazy

(12:11):
leftists winning In virginia And New, jersey with a gun
confiscation law being passed In, maine Red Flag. Law Every
town For Gun, safety The Michael bloomberg funded, group poured
hundreds of thousands of dollars into, elections then didn't have

(12:35):
much money Because wayne and his crew took it and
half the members my, guests But i'm guessing half the
members have left and not come back, yet or were they.
EVER i don't. Know no one's calling in to tell
me if they're either going to be in or out ON.
Nra WHEN i talk to, people they get, angry AND

(13:00):
i get, it, man when you're, betrayed you feel. Angry
but at the same, TIME i GUESS i would, say
you know a certain, point hanging on to the anger
is self, indulgent and if you really are a support
of The Second, amendment you got to, Say, okay who

(13:20):
can do the best? Work, look did something good did
come from The Hohl Wayne LaPier. DEAL i know that sounds.
CRAZY a lot of people discovered the other gun rights.
Groups they dropped out of THE, nra and they discovered
The Second Amendment, foundation The Fire's Policy coalition And Gun

(13:43):
owners Of america And National association For Gun, rights which
used to BE i thought was a phony, group and
they've come on and done some really good things in the.
Courts different group, Now Gun owners Of america and those
are all good, groups and they all do good, things
primarily in the courts with. Lawsuits but they don't do
what THE nra did or. Does so it's a good

(14:06):
thing that people discover these other groups and they, say,
well you, know Now i'm A goa, guy and Now
i'm A Fire's Policy coalition. GUY i get, IT i understand.
It and what DID i say the entire? Time you
need to belong to Several you need to belong to
your state. Group but and this is going to be
my take on. It you agree or, Disagree i'd love

(14:27):
to hear what you're. Thinking nobody does what THE nra.
Does nobody has one hundred and twenty five thousand certifight
instructors out. There nobody works the, elections and the elections are,
critical so critical for the upcoming mid. Terms we're one year.
Out we better start the day and it's going to be.

(14:50):
Out i'm going to rejoin THE Nra i'm going to
renew my. Membership i'm going to send money, In but
Also i'm going to, Say, OKAY i know That bloomberg's
people are going to be. Out they're pushing gun control
and trying to elect gun, banners and we have to
do something about. That and what are we going to?

Speaker 5 (15:08):
Do?

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yeah, money, money, money, money but also time and. Effort
CAN i just say, this bitching online doesn't accomplish anything
other than make you feel good.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
And time.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
SPENT i call it chess thumping because a lot of
people want to, say you, Know i'm the strongest gun
rights advocate out. There, yeah, really how much did you
give to gun rights? Groups did you show up at
your state legislature to testify when they had Gun day?

(15:44):
There what have you done other than posting? Online just
saying we kind of confuse online activity with actually being.
Useful you can get information that way if you're careful
about your, sources but then you got to put that

(16:07):
information to. Use and certainly you can use online to
gather people together and then go do things and do good,
things find good, candidates volunteer to go door to, door
put out the door, hangers knock on, doors work the.
Phones this is where the rubber meets the. Road it's, like, okay,

(16:28):
YEAH i support the second. Member, really how many hours
have you put, in not on a, keyboard not posting,
memes hours put in to actually do. SOMETHING i, know
but SOMETIMES i feel like it's a wasted. Breath but
the reality is we have been winning a lot in

(16:52):
the courts and we're about to lose monstrously in the.
ELECTIONS i think we may take it on the chance
so hard in the midterms that we could be ten years.
RECOVERING i think that the elections were going to lose
in the midterms if we don't get off our rearms

(17:14):
and do something about, it could put people in, charge
whether they're governors or district. Attorneys most Certainly cosurus is
finding a lot of district. ATTORNEYS i just think that
we're going to have Our our mission is going to
be much more. Difficult if The democrats take control of The.

(17:36):
House the next two years will be nothing But trump
impeachment hearings, again throwing out the. Brakes and right, now,
look none of us thinks thej is, perfect but The
department Of justice has actually taking a Positive Second amendment
role right, now and a lot of things atf is not,

(17:59):
perfect not even, good but there may be less bad
than there used to. Be isn't that? Something at the
end of this, year there's no tax on, suppressors which
opens the door for a massive lawsuit which has been filed,
already to get rid of The National Firearms act nineteen thirty.

(18:20):
Four wouldn't that be? Something where do you think is
going to happen to these if The democrats get control Of.
CONGRESS i, like we have to. Wonder let's go the.
Phones Allen's online three out Of Canyon, City. Colorado, Hey,
alan how can we help? You? Hello how are you?

Speaker 10 (18:41):
Today i'm?

Speaker 3 (18:42):
Great how CAN i help you? Today?

Speaker 10 (18:44):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (18:45):
OKAY i want you to get your feel on a.
Burner what's your? Feeling your thoughts about these? Burners i've
been here to advertise the Lot i've been thinking about
buying my wife. ONE i want to know what your opinion.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
IS i don't think there's anything wrong with. IT i
just think that if you are competent with a, firearm
why would YOU i do carry pepper spray. OCCASIONALLY i
don't have any experience with the. BURNOUT i do know
that they have a massive advertising budget and they're buying ads. Everywhere.
Sarah it's got everybody thinking about. It but in terms
of is this a viable, alternative, sure everything's a viable,

(19:21):
alternative and you got to figure out if it works for.
You but if you are competent and comfortable with a,
FIREARM i don't think this replaces. IT i don't know
if that helps, you But i'm just saying it's not
the end, all be all, solution but it is one
in a layered. APPROACH i think WHAT i would not

(19:41):
want to do would be to Think i'm going to
go to my pepper ball launcher instead of my gun
When i've got to make a. DECISION i don't want
to have to make a decision between two different, things.

Speaker 12 (19:56):
Right right, RIGHT i got you.

Speaker 11 (19:57):
There i've cared about you, know you know killing. SOMEONE
a gun is going to kill, SOMEONE a burner is.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Not, well a gun might kill some might, not there's
no telling whether it will or. Not but at that,
point that is WHAT i call an occupational hazard of
being someone who's trying to kill. Me and you, Know
i'm not wanting to kill, somebody and that's not the
goal of shooting. Him but if that's what. Happens that
is the naturlogical consequence that comes from being someone who

(20:28):
had tried to attack me and kill me and my.
Family so tell you, what why don't you get the
burner and use it and give us a call back
and let us know how it. Worked, okay, well.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
All, Right i'll do.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
That that sounds. Good. Thanks i'll appreciate the. Call john's
online one out Of. Reno Hey, john you got a
thought about nineteen?

Speaker 12 (20:46):
Eleven, Hi, Ton, YES i. DO i have my father's
nineteen eleven that he carried through the. War it was
With patent's. Group i'm trying at the. Headquarters was a sergeant. Major,
anyway that's enough of. That SO i had the gun
AND i got the idea of putting it in the original.

(21:09):
Holster SO i got looking online AND i found this
website that makes, them and they're identical to the. Original
they got all the wires on the back to put
it on a utility belt and it is strange to
kre it and it looks just like it has a
stamp us on. It it was about forty dollars AND
i just thought you might be interested in. That SO

(21:30):
i wanted to give it to you an. Idea now the,
Website i'm not SURE i can actually come up with
the website, again let ME i know where it. Is
if you give me one point.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
SECOND i can just tell you that's not the kind
of HOLESTRE i would put this. In this is going
to be a self DEFENSE causeio carry. Pistol it's not
a true replica of an army issue, gun SO i
wouldn't put it in a military style. Holster So i've
got some Outfits i'm talking to or looking, at maybe
finding a holster for, it AND i think it's very.

(22:00):
Cool one thing to, remember don't store your nice guns
in a leather. Holster leather absorbs moisture and keeps the
moisture next to your, Gun so you keep your guns
out of leather. Holsters that's not where you store. Them
you can put them in there when you're carrying them
or when they're displaying, them but for. Storage, please, please, please,

(22:21):
people do not store your nice guns and leather. Holsters
you can end up pulling a gun out and it's
now full of. Rust, hey when we come, back what's
the latest in bipods and? Tripods you're going to be
shocked at how good and expensive they. Are if you
want to join us, here just give me a, Shout

(22:41):
Tom Talk. Gun that's actually the phone number you Call
Tom Talk, gun and we're pretty much open. Lines if
there's something you want to talk, about if it's about
things that go, bang we'll talk about it. Here if
you have followed the long range shooting, game and there
are a lot of different games, now you know involved
like simulated, hunting and one of the things that's happened

(23:02):
is it's kind of like race car drive and we
end up with really cool products and technologies that come
out of that because people, say this's got to be
a better way to DO x whatever it, is and
one of those is rest in support systems for our.
Firearms joining us right now Is Rob gearing From Spartan. Precision.

(23:22):
Rob i'm glad you were able to get cell phone.
SERVICE i know you're in THE us right now doing
some cool. Stuff thanks for joining.

Speaker 10 (23:29):
Us, Hello, tom how are you? Doing you, Know i'm
doing some very cool stuff with a Friend Carter Aron
andrews In florida and it's super exciting but very good
to hear your, voice.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Sir so all, right so let's start off with spartan precision.
Equipment what is? That where did it come?

Speaker 10 (23:46):
From so my background was climbing mountains as much as
it was. Hunting tom AND i came from an aviation,
background And i've probably married those three elements, together and
that was providing lightweight support systems that are very adaptable
to different environments and built to a very high standard of.

Speaker 11 (24:09):
Quality because when you're.

Speaker 10 (24:11):
Climbing if something doesn't work, properly it could cost you your.
Life SO i like to play this apply the same
data and formula to my hunting.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Products, okay so we're talking about, tripids bipods support systems
and a lot of people grew up knowing about like
The harris, bipod WHICH i use. Forever a little bit
heavy and now he appears to be a little, clunky
but you've got some really cool stuff.

Speaker 10 (24:38):
We. DO i, mean The harris bipods are great tool
and when you think of what the guy was working
with and those times he did a brilliant job smashed it.
Out the part just technology has moved. On so we've
applied that same formula but using modern, materials so a
lot of carbon fiber And. Tom what we do is
we have shooting systems that are, bipod tripods and, quads

(25:02):
even a pen. System so chances are whatever you're hunting,
environment we've got we've got products that will best support.
You we very much AD dna was mountain, hunting but
we'd come out of the mountains and we'd come down
the side now and we're offering sub alpine tools as.
Well but, YEAH i mean lightweight systems that fit your

(25:24):
rifle with a magna switch system so you have a
little adapt on your rifle and THEN i can migrate
from a bipod to a tripod or a quad system very.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
Quickly all, Right so, yeah the magna switch, system you
actually it's like you've replaced the swing sling swivel on your.
Rifle but now this, SYSTEM i mean it goes on
and off in less than a.

Speaker 11 (25:47):
Second oh, yeah it's.

Speaker 10 (25:50):
SUPER i can put that bipod on quicker where you
can as well put that bipod in place quicker than
you can drop two legs on a conventional. Bipod, moreover
the REASON i came out with this tom WAS i
was getting THAT i got really fed up with carrying
a rifle with a piece and that was stuck in
my shoulder all the, time not conducive to a comfortable,

(26:10):
environment and used to get caught up in. Things having that,
bipod which by the, way is lighter than your phone in,
weight stuck under my bino caddy or my belt clip
or my rifle sling means it's there WHEN i need,
it it's not in my. Way let me.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Explain, that because that's been one of the Complaints i've,
had and frankly one of the. Reasons AND i was hunting,
yesterday climbing all over the mountains out here In. Idaho
carry my super lightweight, rifle BUT i won't put a
bipod on it BECAUSE i don't want that thing stuck
on the bottom of my. RIFLE i think it's, ugly it's,
clunky and it's additional WEIGHT i don't want to be
carrying around and just makes the whole rifle, unwieldy especially

(26:48):
IF i have to take an off.

Speaker 10 (26:49):
Handshot, EXACTLY i totally. Agree couldn't agree. More BUT i
had a couple Of american friends come over From scotland
recent At scotland recently ton't with, me and they were
used to shoot with. Packs now a pack, works but
the problem with a pack is it's not going to
be able to stop your forward or backward. Movement having

(27:10):
a bipod in position at the right time is a
true game. Changer SO i love what a bipod will.
PROVIDE i just don't love how we carry, it AND
i don't like the extra. Way so having a simple
little the javelin, BIPOD i best describe it to your.
Listeners it only has one moving. Leg it folds up closed,

(27:30):
right and it's got cant and, rotation so you can
both cant the rifle over and you can rotate round
that you can orbit round on the bipod as, well
two fundamentally important things for a hunting.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Bipod tell me about using a tripod on your hunting.

Speaker 10 (27:48):
Rifle So i've got we make four different, tripods. Tom
we make them for the military and we make them
for the hunting. World the most exciting tripod we make
is our cheapest, one which is the Spring, bok and
it's a silicon bodied. Tripod you can use it as
a bipod as well by unscrewing a. Leg but imagine.

(28:09):
This imagine a rubber body or a silicon body with
three legs and you can literally pull one of those
legs out to adjust the High because it's located with
A magnu switch, system it actually, lives you, know once
it's in the rifle or follow the. Rifle it's like
having almost a living tripod to support your. System it's

(28:30):
absolutely epic. Tol, now IF i was mountain, hunting that's
not What i'd be. Recommended i'd be recommending a more sophisticated.
Product but if you're hunting planes, game You're, africa or
you're hunting in The, southeast The springbok tripod or bipod
are the Tools i'd, recommend very very fast to, use very,

(28:52):
adaptable lightweight and.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Quick. Well THEN i would also offer that when you're
using a tripod on the furnither, rifle particularly if you're
like a sitting, position you, know and you can lock
down the back end of, it it's basically like shooting
off a bench. Rest you can be that accurate with.

Speaker 10 (29:06):
It you really can be. Tom but also we have
A springbok quad system which uses The spain, silicon but
it has a silicon bipod on the, front cercun bipod
on the, back and two silicon bodies on the, base
so then you've got two points of contact off the
ground and two points of contact on the. RIFLE a
little bit more cumbersome to, use not quite as, quick

(29:30):
but more. Precision amazing.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Stuff. Leggs you can read a lot more about it,
javelin bipod dot, com or you can obviously you can
do the web search For Spartan. Precision look up all
the products there rob just for people to get an.
Idea the spring Pot bock tripod is three hundred and
fifty dollars retail looks like and people will, say, well
that's a lot of. Money says, well, actually if you

(29:53):
got a trophy animal out there and this allows you
to get, it that's.

Speaker 10 (29:58):
Nothing, no And, tom let's let's just consider this all
of our. Systems it doesn't matter how many rifles you've, got,
right you only need one bipod and one tripod with
our system because The Magnium magne switch system is fitted
to the. Rifle so no longer DO i need lots
of bipods on all our. RIFLES i only need. One

(30:20):
that's what might Buy ocaddy the same for the, tripod
and it goes on really, quick so you could be
using an ar platform A. Merlin you, know underleave a
conventional bolt action rifle will ru everything will run off
That magne switch.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
System all, Right javlin bipod dot. COM i really appreciate
you take some time out of your business, Schedule rob
to talk with us about. It you're making some cool, stuff,
Man thank.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
You.

Speaker 10 (30:45):
Tom take that as a big, compliment and long may we.
Continue you, know at the end of the, day we're
not an arrogant. Company we listen to good people like,
yourself and that's how we get.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Better, well it sure looks like you've got some neat stuff.
THERE i got to check this stuff. Out thanks, AGAIN

Speaker 15 (33:11):
Dot, com okay that.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Was fun have a rob on and if you go
take a look at the website, You'll, GO okay i
see what they're. Talking about sometimes this, physical stuff if,
it's different it's hard. To describe and the bipods and
tripods they're making their different their high tech carbon fiber
pre need. Stuff, though yeah javelin bipod, dot com javelin

(33:50):
bipod dot com. NEED stuff I gotta i gotta get one.
OF those i gotta try THAT because i do go
up and down, these mountains and these mountains just get steeper.
EVERY year i, don't know it's a jail. LOGICAL thing.
I can't i think, MAYBE possibly i. Don't know i'm
having a birthday, this week so we'll take note of that. As,
well again our number here is eight. Sixty Six talk
guns that will get you. In here we're talking a

(34:11):
little bit ABOUT the nra and the question on. THE
floor i just thought it out for. YOUR consideration, i
mean you could take this back and mull, it over
because a lot of people loudly proclaim they were going
to be gone FROM the na as Long As wayne lapierre. Was,
there well, he's gone and the people around him, were

(34:32):
gone the people who were sucking money out of that
place at a rate that is hard. To imagine we
didn't have, any idea and once the new guys, got
in the reformers got in and, then went it was
a lot worse than. We thought so they're having to let,
people go they're, saving money they're getting their costs down
because they know they need to be leaning mean to

(34:54):
head into the. Midterm elections and the midterms are coming,
RIGHT up i mean a, year away, right now which
will be a blink of. An eye and the way these,
things work you don't spend money throughout all. Fifty states
the smart people who know, this stuff they'll target half,

(35:14):
a dozen no more than a, dozen elections and they
know that those are the ones that will Allow the
republicans to maintain control Of the house And, the sun
because that's what. It's about when you, control those you control,
the committees you control, the action you control the Hearings

(35:34):
For supreme. Court justices so, it's, like okay we need
funding for six to twelve elections to make. The, difference
now how much do? You need as much as you
can get right as far as, the answer how much can?
We get you're never going to have the kind of
Money That michael. Bloomberg HAS he's i don't know what he's,

(35:55):
worse now probably approaching one hundred. Million dollars, i'm sorry
do that'? Say? MILLION yeah. I did i think he's
well over, a billion way way over. A billion so
he may be like in one hundred. Billion, range now
we don't have that kind. Of money we're not gonna

(36:16):
have that kind. Of money but you don't have to
have that kind of money if you're, spill smart if you,
work elections if you choose the, right candidates if you work.
The system so, you, go okay we're gonna we're gonna
throw one hundred, thousand dollars three hundred thousand dollars. Into
it how do we get that kind? Of? Money donations,

(36:38):
you know realistically WE need i would guess thirty million
dollars thirty to fifty million dollars to make a. Real
difference how are you gonna? GET there i. Don't know
each of us is going to kick in fifty bucks
or whatever, you can or the cost of. A gun
what would what would you what would you pay to
keep all Your guns that's an. Interesting question if you

(36:58):
looked in your safe or says, and said, you, KNOW
hey i want to keep all. THESE guns i know
people are going to try to take them away. From
me and make, no mistake they're talking about taking. THEM
away i love it what they. Alway, said well no
one's talking about taking away. Your guns now. They are
they're saying it. Out Loud some donnie just got elected

(37:19):
Mayor Of, new york the perhaps leader Of The. Democratic
party now HE. In aoc he said we have to ban.
All Guns and i'm talking about banning the sale. Of
guns i'm talking about banning the ownership. Of guns what
do you do when you ban the ownership? Of guns you,

(37:40):
confiscate them you take. Them away that's where, we, are so,
YOU know, i mean we don't do. This collectively we
don't do this as. A group we do. THIS individually
i mean it's up, To. ME tom i got, To,
say okay is It time tom for you to get

(38:03):
off the sidelines and get. Back, in yeah. IT is
i got to get. OVER myself i was Mad, AT
wayne i was mad at what. THEY did i hated those,
rat bastards. Really DID but i also have To, say okay,
They're gone get, Over it get. Over yourself what do
we need to? Do now what's the? Next thing that's

(38:26):
all that, merely Matters isn't it's just what's the? Next,
thing well the next thing is to. Win elections we're
doing well in the courts and NRA's working hard, on
that and the other groups are. As well, AND look
i take nothing away. From them they're. All good the
ONLY thing i kind of don't like is that some
of them like to beat up ON, the nra AND
that i think got shortsighted and just playing dumb when

(38:51):
you proclaim you're the only no. Compromise, group, yeah, yeah
yeah we're all getting stuff done and we all need all,
the groups and, right now nobody else is doing What
in ora is doing. In elections so there. IT is
i throw it out there for. Your consideration mull. It
over let me know what. You think our number is eighty.
Sixty six. Talk gun we can get you, in now

(39:11):
we can get you into the. After show i'd love
to get your take. On That I'm. Tom gresher we're
gonna step aside for, a minute but we'll be right
back with more. Gun talk let's go straight to. The
phones bob's with us online five Out Of, Fort. Worth Texas,

(39:32):
hello bob what's on? Your mind how are? You?

Speaker 11 (39:36):
Doing tom it's good to hear. YOUR voice i was
actually there with you And range ready. This SPRING but
i have a suggestion for. YOUR holster i know you
have others for me the. Nineteen eleven i've Tried The
wilson Combat and i've put all my. Others, AWAY really
i think it has TO do i think it has

(39:57):
to do it the way they do the tunnel on
the back instead of, belt slots and it just pulls
in everything much tiger than Anything else i've.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Ever, Tried, interesting well, You Know bill wilson knows a
thing or two about handguns that. Carry Them so i'm
gonna have to take a look, at that because people may.
Not Know wilson combats become a full line. Gun company they've,
Got Rifles semi auto's, bolt action they've got the new bolt.
Action rifles, of course they've got all the handguns, they

(40:28):
make and all the accessories like holsters. And stuff i'm
gonna have to take a look. At that thank you
for that. Heads up do do some.

Speaker 11 (40:36):
Uh some sharks king trim. And stuff like that for
your fancy of. Your guns i've got mine, pretty plain
but just. A, thought yeah No good another. Quick, time
okay talking about YouTube canceling so many of the. GUN
CULTURE m i don't know if it would be possible
with our legal system versus, justice system but why couldn't

(40:59):
they be sued as a civil? Rights violation.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
The problem with that is That The first amendment does
not apply here Because The first amendment only restricts government
action and not a private. Corporation, action now you know
maybe lawyers out there who, can, say yeah but there's another.
Angle here there's a back door we can, go into
and there MAY be i, don't KNOW but i think

(41:24):
we can't do Anything On first. Amendment grounds there may
be some kind of civil rights action, available there some kind.
Of discrimination maybe that's the deals you work on it
as a. Discrimination thing it's not a, bad thought IT'S
just i think you got to kind of work our
way around, to it and maybe there's a way to.
GET there i may mention it to those smart LAWYERS

(41:46):
that i know, who say, of course they tend, to,
say well, you know we couldn't, do this we couldn't.
Do that but if you let them stew on it for.
A while a lot of times they'll come back, and
say but, you know there's another way and just, say,
like okay you guys go, in here but just come
up with. A plan i. Like, THAT look i. Appreciate
it bout, thank, you sir, AND yeah i enjoyed getting
together and shooting. With you over At Range Ready cool

(42:08):
Place range ready studios. Dot com take a look at
the classes that. They're holding they hold a lot of
classes through the winter because it's just hotter Than the
Devil in louisiana in, the summer so they don't have as.
Many classes then they do some really. Interesting stuff sign
up for the email list because that's how you find
out about the. New classes if you wait until you

(42:30):
go and check, the website class is liable to be
sold out by the time you, Get there so sign
up for that email list over At range ready studios. Dot,
COM yeah, I know i'm kind of. OLD school i
like the, nineteen elevens, OF course i like everything. Else
too it's, you know WHETHER it's barretta or Sig or Smith.
AND wesson i really LIKE the M and. Ps two by,

(42:53):
the WAY the mp two point zero is really nice
and that metal version they came. Out with it's not,
really heavier but it feels different when you shoot it
or something. ABOUT it i just LIKE and i have
not yet tried the compact version, of that and that
may be my next GO to edc because you, KNOW
me i do the thing you're not supposed. To do

(43:13):
i'm always CHANGING because i work with all these. Different
companies so there. You Go but i'll let you know
if we do that and how it. Works, out hey
if you're to join me for the, after, show now

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
