Uh, the former Pro Bowl cornerback and the founder of
Draft Nasty magazine.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
I'm not up on it, not gonna lie. You gotta
look up Draft Nasty.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
He has been on the odd couple, so to be
a return for Corey. Can't wait for that. That's coming
up in about twenty eight minutes, and you're heading to
the game. Yeah here from the studio right after. Yeah,
I'm a jet jet right there.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
So that's good. It's a good yeah. Yeah, shouldn't be
too bad. Little traffic, but not that bad. I think
I've done it before. Ye Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Sometime I would drive down to the Palm station, uh
huh and then take the train.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I'm not mad at that either, dude.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
That's the one that you grew up in New York like, Yeah,
la to be so big if you just wish there
was better transportation.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I'm still transportation where I live. Thank God.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
It's two blocks from my house, so I can if
I want to go somewhere, like go down and go downtown,
and if I want to just I could easily take
that train.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
It's about thirty minutes, but it's easy and fight with nothing.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Let's say you wanted to drink a little bit sauce,
you know, Yeah, it's just a different Yeah, we don't.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Have I don't know what.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
I don't think it costs more than two dollars or
two fifty or so. It doesn't cost that much. So
you know what I mean, Go downtown in LA get
to right and literally parking, get off the train and
it's two blocks to walk to you.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Know exactly what. You know what it is? Yeah, I
mean my buddy does that all the time. It's really easy,
and I do it sometimes.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
If i'ma be out laid or it's out of the way,
then no, I'll drive my car. But if I'm really
just going to a game, or I want to be
at LA Live or go on a restaurant right in
that area, I easily take it. And if it's really late,
say I hang out longer than I want to take
a lift or.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Uber Hord yeah, which by the way, is gonna be
way cheaper than park in my car. One of these days,
one's got to go. We're gonna do like the best,
you know, twenty years last, fifteen twenty. Your creation app
like Uber has to be up there, like just the
ability at any point to be like I gotta go
because if you're in New York, yeah, you just Chicago.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
You just stick your arm out of the taxi.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
The one I know would be gone for me is Airbnb,
like getting a.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Oh yeah, you still like hotels. I just don't want
to sleep.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
I know a lot of times people set up Airbnbs
and people don't somebody's house.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
I'm that serious, Like, because you can't leave your clothes
there afterwards, you.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Know that might charge might charge you, sir. We ain't
doing doing nothing with this.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
At the hotel, I can leave clothes, Yeah, you can
do that.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Well, okay, So speaking of that in New Orleans, I
took a cue from you, right because I told you
that I bought snacks for the plane ride, had extra
and the room service or the room that maid the
turndown never came to my room all week.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I had the privacy on it.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I was like, what, he didn't get his cheats, Chaine
getting new fresh towels the whole week.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
Yeah, because I put it on the first night and
I just kind of forgot about it.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Oh you know, so it is what it is.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
But ROB left them a sag full of clothes that
thank you so much for this week. They're like, I
left them all my leftover snacks. Like here's like three
gatorades and you know, four cupcakes and M and m's.
What's the better gift if you're if you're a house, I'm.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Sure they wanted the stuff that you had, because yeah,
because then it has to be like they have to
have a six foot What am I gonna do with
the two eggs?

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Or get clean? Odd couple on him?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Rob Parker exactly, I don't even know what it is,
not even rocking around somebody name. They don't know who
it is. Yeah, give me give me some free food
or money. Right, you can never go wrong with food
or money. Yeah, but but it makes sense.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I mean when I go to I'm going to spring
training next week, and when I head there, I'll have
a couple of things to drop off.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yeah, it's all.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
It's it's one of those when you first told us,
I went, that is really ridiculous night. I didn't know
because they might be offended at first, like yo, But.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
There's a note on I'm just leave it.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
It says, hey, uh, that's a documentary to make either
keep these?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
What do they do with Rob's clothes? Keep these or
donate them? That's all I write on a note.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
But that's what I would want to know the percentage
of people who keep it or who donate it or
throw it. Write a trash boy an nobody got time
and it's writ the trash up.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
You wouldn't believe with the guy in six twelve, did
he even have the sack of clothes?

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Said the congratulations?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
But I don't.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
But I don't leave your problem. But I don't leave underwear.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
That's rude, like draws, draws, whatever you want to call them.
It's all like a shirt or a pair of pants.
I don't leave socks or underwear. And I think that
just said that's nice shirt. Yeah, I think I think
people be appreciate it. But it is just I think
it catches them off guard.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
They used to twenty on the nightstand, or you know,
like Rob g say, oh, somebody left the back of
Dorito's six pack of fill whatever the drink some clothes make.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
It would throw them off a little bit.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
You know.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I think I'm gonna do an ig story on it
the next time.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Yeah, do it, Yeah, you gotta do it now. Somehow
got this is what they're getting. They're getting this great
hat odd couple.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
If you're here, you never know. I'm gonna leave the
door crack. You can get in all right tonight. Man,
I'll tell you what. I'm expecting this to be a
big time welcome to La moment for Luca. He had
one over the weekend thirty was it thirty two points?
Look good perform? Well they won, they stopped Denver. But

(06:17):
I think this is the one where people are had
it on the calendar. Right the Mavericks are back in town.
Now this is an Anthony Davis List one, so you
lose some of your luster with that.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
But we just talked about it.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Jump Man is already promoting stuff because has jump Man
written all over.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
We're talking about this parking lot.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Now that I know jump Man's they make sense to
why like sponsor byy courtesy of Luca, and they got
the Lucamobile.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Out there as well. All it is it's a gimmick. Yeah,
it's a gimmy. So I'm thinking this is full on
Luca Knight.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
And one thing I like about him, he's got that
old school Kobe, Isaiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Petty and him.
You know Larry Bird. Hey, y'all putting this dude on me?
Or hey coming in your locker room. Hey, I's wanna
let y'all know I'm putting fifty on your head tonight
and walking out, Larry Brown will do it. Hey Byron
Scott tells a great story. He would come in the huddle,
will be like a that is the last last shot

(07:02):
of the game, and Larry Bird would tell them, I'm
gonna curl off, I'm gonna come to the pick, I'm
gonna run off this double and I'm being the corner.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
I'm ana shot three. And he would literally do it
and make it.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
And Luca has a little bit of that, petty, and
I'm like a little bit of that, all right, that's
what you gonna do? You want to trade me? I
thought I was gonna be there forever, okay, and so
I look forward to that. And it's as part of
what we talk about.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
In the NBA.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Has a bad shooting night, bad shooting that, but I
don't think he The good thing about Luca is he
can have a bad shooting night seven for twenty but
didn't have fourteen rebounds, twelve assists and still win again.
Gets to the free throw line a bunch. That's the
great thing about him. He's not like an I only
shoot and in my shots off I don't contribute any
other way.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
But I like this type of thing. In the NBA.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
We talk about rivalries, we talk about petty, we talk
about guys you know, don't like each other. You need
a little bit of that. You need a little animosity,
You need a little one to go at it.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
And I like that.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
It makes it look like, you know, you're gonna be
watching the night to watch and see. And I think
that's part of what you need in sports, right you
at the Canada and USA and all the hockey stuff
because oh this country versus country. You know, did you
know what the Sooners puck drop? They started fighting? You
need a little animosity, a little get back, a little petty.
Little something they look forward to, especially in the regular
season is the playoffs is one thing you already have that,

(08:10):
So I'm looking forward to that in that capacity as well.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
I don't think it in the grand scheme of things,
I don't think it really matters because because the Luca
trade was not about basketball, and we talked about that earlier,
it just it doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
This. This was not who won the trade.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Everyone knows that if you get a twenty five year
old international star All NBA five times in his seven
years in the league.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
You got the better player.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
I mean, there's no if ands or, But he's six
years younger than Anthony. Right, He's also he's also not
as banged up as a player that you can't Anthony Davis,
that you can't.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Depend on, you know what I mean? Over the yame
you know what I mean? Right?

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Which is which? And again Charles Barkton and Collins Street
closed for nothing?

Speaker 3 (09:01):
So one of the most painful yet accurate, yet hilarious
nicknames of all time.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
So I'm just saying like like there's no there's no like, oh,
well they won the trade or if if somehow Dallas
won they won the trade. There's none of that. This
is just about uh and it still will be forever.
Why did Dallas dump Luca?

Speaker 3 (09:25):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Like, like to me, there's nothing else here other than
that the person who really can uncover that that they
have some other secrets, some information, they have some police.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Reports that were never released, you know, or or something addiction,
maybe issue something. I'm not saying them just no, no, no, right,
but do you get my point?

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Right?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Like like that would be like now I get it,
now this makes sense. Now I understand why they were
afraid of him. Not because he has a he's twenty
five and has a thirty five year old body, Not
because he wants have a beer after you win the
Western Conference and head to the you know, head to
the championship.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
It can't be just those things.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
He's not in good shape, he eats too much, he
drinks too much, he has a bad body, he breaks
down a little bit. It's not that because he still
has had success given all these things.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Did you hear the governor recently say, man I kind
of didn't think they were gonna be this mad what
you got rid of as you just mentioned their next
and even maybe better than Dirk Nwisky who they had
for twenty years, brought him a championship, went to a couple,
lost one, but went one to one and just was
that staple in the commune, like we know we have

(10:41):
this guy, and you got rid of him at twenty
five after he just dragged you to the finals.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
And they're like, man, I didn't know we would have
this much blowback. What, Yeah, you don't know what to
tell you.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
One thing that would have been one of the most
obvious things in this sport the world if you traded
Luca for not Anthony Davis, Lebron and first round draft picks.
You're absolutely gonna get this kind of blowback like the
movie Backdraft is gonna get that much blowback.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
This is crazy.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
So I can't believe yet all the stuff that coming out,
and then you got, like I said, little.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
In all the weird.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
If you want some conspiracy theories, there's the whole that
the league wouldn't let them build a casino on the
side of it. So the new owner, she was upset
about that and swarping down that she couldn't sell the team.
So she was like, let me be petty and get
rid of Luca because everybody's everybody's on Nico Harrison. You
no general manager can trade Luca. She don't have control

(11:31):
without that being signed off on. Come on now, stop
buying that. Come on now, nio a face four it.
He doesn't own the team.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
That's his job, but he doesn't own the team, and
that and the idea that you would think that he did.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
It on his own and the owners didn't know what
he was doing. Are you kidding? Luca?

Speaker 6 (11:48):
This?

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Ain't you know a four string point guard on the
team who ain't playing. There's no way you can trade
Luca at twenty five without the owner being like, hey,
you know what should get rid of Luka doncic.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Son seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine
nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
What kind of night are you expecting? Is this?

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Is this a coming out party? Well, let's move the
needle for you. If he does really well, if he
scores what but are you.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Predicting fifty points thirty five with a triple double?

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Bob g what do you got? How many points? Fifty three,
seven and six?

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Okay, now now he's saving that for April when they
go when they go to Dallas, I'm gonna say, twenty four,
six and seven.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Are you getting That's a terrible game? Two and a
half courter. I'm looking for a bad game.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Oh we got I gotta deal with this for a decade,
Luca being Rob don't like good things.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Nope, No, I hate It'll be like, oh, Rob, I
just got it. I just got a new ragees real,
he just got here. You don't like Luca? I just
said in like Luca, I just said, I'm not expecting
the big game that you.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Expe That's not what you just the second part of
what you said was I'm looking for him.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
No, right, that's what I mean. I'm expecting it's different, expecting.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to it's different.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
That's what I said. I can't wait for him to
lay out. I didn't say that. That's not what for
tomorrow is gonna be great. It's gonna be great. Boy.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
That boy is gonna be helped. And that's the game man.
Rob's gonna be writing already.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
I don't know what with you guys. You're so quiet
in La you can hear.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
I don't understand how you don't understand like everybody doesn't
have to be on board for for No, we get it,
but we don't like like you guys are like always
doing something. No no, no, no, no wo. I talk about
stuff all the time. But the only thing is you
don't need to be like in a room where nine
people are all raw. Rob this or that, I'm gonna

(13:48):
look at a little bit deeper. I just come from
a journalistic background.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Stop, That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
Well, with that in mind, wouldn't you kind of want
to see him stick it to the maps? Then why
can't that be the story is that what you want.
Like if he's riding, I'm ripping.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
There you go, Robs me the one guy that defend Dallas. Rob,
they made the right move. You got got a belly.
If there's more stuff to come out, they might have
made the right move. I don't know yet. That's what
you're looking for everybody else, Like at what level would
it have to be for you?

Speaker 5 (14:22):
Like there was good it's a good idea, Like he's
like a belliger and drunk.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
Oh, just like there was some issues behind the scenes
that they didn't feel comfortable making that kind of commitment,
Like he had a bottle of I could buy that
the locker room. Fifty million dollars a major commitment. You
just saw the Mets give wa Soto seven sixty five.
Trust me, they had to do an extensive background to
make sure, you know, mama's whatever this drama is. You

(14:50):
have to You just have to when you make that
kind of commitment. That's a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
I'm gonna monitor the odd couple social media handle. We're
gonna get a tweet.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Rob hates number one Black quarterbacks, number two European basketball.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
There you go. I mean I hate everybody. I don't
know where do the Lions fall? Where the Lions? Anything
from betrayed Number three? Oh wow, she got it, cheefs.

Speaker 5 (15:09):
We run it out the top five chiefs, number five
Fox Sports Radio hosts.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
There we go, there's our top five. We figured we
figured it out right there except Ben Mallard, Jonas Knox,
those are you guys? So that means I don't hate everybody.
It's a figure of speech. Everybody all right?

Speaker 4 (15:26):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. What are your
expectations in this game? That really doesn't move the needle
because a D is not playing? You know, be one,
they got the Luca mobile. Want it not be better
if a D was playing? Come on, you gotta it doesn't.
It just doesn't have the same bulls because there's no
way the other couple on a trash talking Tuesday, Rob

(15:49):
Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio stick.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Unless you want to be different and be a hater

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Be a big game.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
You got the Lakers hosting the Mavericks the first time,
Luca will see his old team already have a big
old Hea then bought out a couple of parking lots
out there, and also you have the lucamobiles. So it's
a lot going on. Clearly very festive downtown La. But
what do you expect from tonight's game? Will Luca go off?
Will it be a normal game? Will heat take seek vengeance?

(16:56):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox? So we got
I can't, I can't believe it?

Speaker 3 (17:00):
What you will? I couldn't see what happened? Was it
scoring that game one eleven? One on one? The Celtics
beat the Raptors? What was then? How much? By ten?
What was it ten and a half? Oh Man can
you believe that? Rob g Like that's that's.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
That's when you were concerned, like, how can they be
that right? How can they ten and a half? I
had ten? I mean they won by ten. They can't
win by eleven one eleven to one on one, I'm unbelievable.
I got the other one here. Then you're good on
that one of that one?

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah, all right? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
Let's get it going? Uh?

Speaker 4 (17:33):
What was that art in Glendale, Arizona. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 3 (17:37):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (17:37):
Art Man on Garah? First time caff How are you
cash lessings man? Hey, Holly in favor? Gah? Yes, holo,
hold on Garad, twelve piece lemon paper, Magic City. Yes,
you dig so much to try to anything against my Lakers, man, Ude,

(18:05):
let it go. You dig molding your ex wife. Dude,
you hate that Lakers more than you hate your ex wife.

Speaker 8 (18:14):
Let go.

Speaker 7 (18:15):
What do I need to do for you to just stop? Passionists?

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Tell me I need to do uh nothing.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
I win the championship this year and then maybe we back. Okay,
do you guys say that every year?

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Hey? The Lakers are tough out. Hey, they won the
end season tournament.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
You know, hey, they went to the Western Conference finals.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
You know they're back.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
I wouldn't take I went Lebron and ad against anybody
in the first round. They said, you say the same stuff,
Am I right or wrong? Every year about the Lakers.
It's the same story. By the way, they got one
championship in the last five years. They went, I still
don't think you. I think you still Art. It's all good,
my man. I appreciate you. Thanks for calling the show.

(18:57):
Thanks for the support.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Shouts Art.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
Yes, m hey in New Orleans and we met down there. Yeah,
super Bowl. You're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, MJ?

Speaker 6 (19:07):
What's going on? What's going on with us?

Speaker 7 (19:09):
Rob K, Doug?

Speaker 3 (19:09):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (19:10):
Man?

Speaker 6 (19:11):
And Man? I'm keeeping you all out, you know as
juju pretty much every day. Man, I just haven't had
a champion to check in. But it's Luca doncas thing.

Speaker 7 (19:19):
Man.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
Uh, you kind of gotta go by what Nico said. Man,
defense wins championships and been able to get a d
and Doug Christie soon. That's a good kick up for them.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Why I think Max Christie is Doug Christie son. That
ain't that man Son? Everybody?

Speaker 6 (19:36):
Doug Christie, that's you know, that's from what I read,
that that his two sons was playing against each other.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
That's Max Christie is not Doug Christie's son.

Speaker 7 (19:45):
That's what I read.

Speaker 6 (19:46):
That's what I saw. There was a game and they
were saying it was Doug what's his two sons? Because
I had researched a a while back. Also because I
you know Christy, I was like, okay, maybe that's dog Son.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
You're saying what I saw k dub I don't know
the streets putting his kids on people out here.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Rob Parker, well, I mean you already know right, you
looked it up.

Speaker 6 (20:05):
It's not Yeah, but look going getting them off the
door at twenty five man a man complaining to the
reps man not being in shape, drinking beers after games
and all this and all that. Hey man, it was
time that they made that move. Jason Kidd couldn't get
him on the ripe page. And we saw in the
finals that defense he was black and didn't really give
them a shot. So I mean that's what it is.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
Yeah, And guess what, almost everybody, a lot of people
picked them to beat Boston in that series, but it
didn't happen.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
We'll see. I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
They went at him as they should. I mean, people
are gonna go at Luca. That's and also it hurts
him on the offensive end, wears him down.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
All right, we got.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Corey Shaves getting ready to join his former Pro Bowl cornerback,
founder of Draft Nasty magazine, talks football and the draft
as well with him as just a bit of right now,
it's what's trending Steve Seger.

Former Pro Bowl quarterback, founder of Draft Nasty, by the way,
every company live for the Tirereck dot com studios, Corey Man,
thank you for joining us.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
What's going on with you?

Speaker 7 (21:15):
Hey man? How are y'all doing? Man? Thanks a lot
for having me.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Yeah, we're doing good man. No glad on the couple
for sure. Uh let's go here, Frod.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
We've been talking about Shador Sanders and a few months
ago looks like he's a lockey top five. Now they're
trying to say we've literally had people on here say Corey,
they wouldn't draft him. We actually had a scout and
analysts say they would not draft him. We had other
people he's gonna fall out of the first round. What
is going on? Where did I miss something? He looked

(21:44):
good to me this past season.

Speaker 7 (21:48):
Yeah, hey man, I'm with you on that. When I
that's kind of baffling to hear that. The talk has
I guess the best word is evaporation because potentially every
time I've seen him play, and I probably have had
as much exposure to him probably as anyone, because I
watched him. I went to go see him play in

(22:09):
the Swife Championship, and then I watched this season opener
the next season at Colorado, and then I had a
chance to go watch him against Kansas State this season.
And one of the things that impressed me was the
physical maturation for me, from where he was at at
Jackson State. Every year he got a little bit better
physically and in terms of been able to understand what

(22:31):
defenses are doing and the football like Q and I
think people forget his dad. We were in the same
division when I first came into the league. His dad
ended up playing safety. At the end of his career
for the Ravens, and I think when you grow up
with somebody who's a defensive play caller and you have
to call players, that's what safety they do. Along with

(22:53):
the Mike linebacker. Just like the quarterback, you learned the
game and he's got a PhD level, you know, in
terms of being the auto correct on the field.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Help me here.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
With the NFL combine, I think it's one of the
biggest shams going. Okay, unnecessary, it's I love it. It's
fake content. It's just content so that the NFL can
be relevant during the offseason. You watch the kids playing
college football, you do all that. And I'm not saying
don't meet with the teams the general managers or have

(23:27):
them give you you.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Know, take your height and weight or that stuff.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
But all the other stuff I just don't get, Like,
why would you need that if you've done your scouting,
you've gone to their games, you know what I mean,
and you've seen them play football.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
And that's why I.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Don't blame some of the quarterbacks, especially the high picks,
who say I'm not doing that, I'm not participating in
giving fake content when this is not going to you know,
all I can do is have a bad day, and
then they'll point to me and make some story up
about how I'm not good or accurate when I play,
you know, three or four years in college football.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 7 (24:05):
I don't think you're wrong at all, Robert. I think
one thing that you brought up there was the fact
that you can hurt yourself. And that's something that you know.
Some people say, well, you don't want to go out
on the big stage and you don't want to compete
against the other guys. But if it doesn't matter, and
the film does matter, and I think that's why some

(24:25):
of the quarterbacks tend to because of the timing with
the receivers. You have to really work on your timing
with receivers. That's why you spend so much time in
the off season and you just don't have it. And
they understand that, the scouts, and I think that's the
argument for why they want the quarterbacks to throw. They
know you don't have that timing. They just want to

(24:45):
see who does it the best. But if you want
to be at your best in your own setting, then
the preferred method for quarterbacks is to do it on
your own turf.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
He is Corey Chavs, former Pro Bowl quarterback, founder of
Have Nasty magazine. On the Eye couple Robin Kelvin on
eight Trash Talk on Tuesday, Corey, who is a player
you're looking at the draft and maybe you give one
of each one that you say, don't sleep on this person.
They're not really talking about him, but you know, watch
out for him. Or maybe one that you're just like,
I don't buy the hype.

Speaker 7 (25:16):
Well, one player that I'm very excited to see what
he how he transitions to the next level will be
James Pearce Junior. I know, you know, there's been some
a lot of different talks around and Pierce Junior. But
I had a chance to go watch him play this
year against Alabama and his get off was phenomenal. And
he's one of the players we just featured, and I
feel like he's somebody that could have an immediate impact

(25:40):
at the next level. And I would say, if you're
looking for somebody that you maybe just don't necessarily understand
the hype for, I don't know, maybe maybe you could
look at the Jaylen milroll for an example. I don't
know that I know some people will have said that

(26:01):
and it's not that. I'm not a fan of his
skill set, but I know there was some sought potentially
of somebody would maybe kind of look at him in
the first couple of rounds, And I think he would
be better served with less pressure if he goes to
wear in that third round range. I would imagine after
these workouts and some of the stuff he could do

(26:21):
now they're wearing the T shirts and shorts period, his
stock could move up.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Yeah, I would lean towards you with him, like where
he's obviously a pro jack. Teams would take him and
just love the athleticism and see what they can do.
But yeah, I'm with you. I'm not as sold on
him as other people might be.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Who's your first overall pick? Who are you picking?

Speaker 7 (26:41):
Well, it's a quarterback. I'm a big person, don't believe
in that the first overall pick. You want it to
be as safe as possible, and it's a big Typically
you would take the big man or the big offensive
lineman or big defensive line. I don't know if there's
necessarily an elite player at you know that would justify

(27:03):
the number one overall pick. And I just talked about
one guy who I think has that kind of ability impierced,
but there's some stuff that would prevent him from being there.
So I'm thinking that the number one overall pick is
going to be a quarterback, and I would think it's
the guy y'all talked about earlier, Sadure Sanders. If you're
asking me if he's going to be Standards Award, if
we're taking a quarterback number one, Cam Warred.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Go there for me, Right, What's he He's letting everybody
know if you don't pick meaack.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Taking names and numbers. Yeah, what do you make of him?

Speaker 7 (27:37):
Well, I'm excited about his development. I mean he's self made.
I mean from where he started at to where he's
what he's developed into now, particularly this past season with
all the comebacks, And that's something that I think maybe
differentiate him from some of the other quarterbacks in the
draft was his ability to bring his team from behind.
But the physical capabilities that he has on the field's phenomenal.

(28:00):
And again I had a chance to watch him in
person this year too. I went down to go and
watch him against Virginia Tech and I think the one
and also watched him in his final career game, which
he actually didn't play in the second half of that game.
The thing that has developed the most for me with
Tim has been the pocket presence, because that was a
weakness earlier in his career. Took way too many sacks

(28:22):
at Washington State and sometimes when you discuss coverage as
he would hold the ball. He sped up the operation
this year and he can create in or out of
the pocket extremely well. I think he's got a chance
with his physical ability to be a phenomenal quarterback.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
We always talk about brock Perty being mister Irrelevant and
you know, being able to get the forty nine ers
to the super Bowl even though they had gone without him.
When you look at his career on what he's done
so far, has he changed that tag? Or until he
wins big or super Bowl or whatever, people will always
question whether or not you know he can do that

(29:00):
or win a Super Bowl. Where are you on brock
Party as a player.

Speaker 7 (29:04):
I wasn't. It's a great question. I wasn't really that
high on him coming out of school, and I think
some of the things that I ignored were the wins, were
the intangibles, were some of those those times where he
was able to rush for so many touchdowns, and the
reds on the school, and I looked at some of
those bigger mistakes that he made, because some of the

(29:25):
mistakes that he made in school were you know, they
were just had had you scratching your head, but you
tended to ignore the consistent productivity and the fact that
they get end of his career with like forty two
wins or something like that during his time in school.
So that part he's not only convinced me that he
is a quarterback you can win, and not only win

(29:48):
a Super Bowl with. I mean, heck, let's basically he
probably should have won the Super Bowl a couple of
years back. I mean that was just if not for
a great last second drive. So certainly I'm a believer
of Brock Party and was wrong on him.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
All right, Remember everybody misses every now and again. Corey,
thank you so much, man. We appreciate you taking time.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (30:07):

Speaker 4 (31:44):
I'm not have ay, Joseph in Denver, You're the last
call on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
What's up, Joseph?

Speaker 8 (31:53):
Not much.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
How y'all doing tonight, Joseph.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
We're doing great. You hear us. We're always having a
good time.

Speaker 8 (31:59):
Oh as always? Baby. Hey, So I keep hearing all
these these talks going on about Sanders and him not
going as high as everybody thought he should be going, right.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
I mean, it's such just stuff out there, yep.

Speaker 8 (32:18):
And and this is this is just my personal opinion now,
and I'm no expert, but just from following football most
of my life at forty years old, now I've learned
a little bit here and there. So long story short,
I feel like he is self tabotaging himself so he

(32:39):
don't have to go as high to some of these
these crappier teams not the word I would use, but
we're on on on radio, so being the Giants and
the Browns, the Jets, the Raiders, all those are gonna
be crappy teams. They're not gonna be a great fit
for him.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
But most of the time, though, Joseph, when you're in
the draft, you're selected, it's usually by a bad team.
That's how they get the first pick. So that that's
just it's not just for him. This has been gone
on forever, right. Trevor Lawrence winds up with the Jacksonville
Jaguar like, I could give the Bears. These are because
they were bad when Matthew Stafford went to the Lions

(33:19):
twenty years ago in sixteen.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
They were all in sixteen. Like that's what happens.

Speaker 8 (33:25):
Well, no, no, no, no, no no, Okay, so I understand
that part.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
Okay, you're saying.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
He doesn't want to go he's trying to go elsewhere.

Speaker 8 (33:32):
Yeah, I feel like he personally himself like Okay, I'm
putting myself in his shoes. What can I do.

Speaker 7 (33:40):
To? I guess self implodes?

Speaker 4 (33:43):
Okay, but Joseph, any good team has a quarterback already.
So do you see what I'm saying. I know what
you're saying. You don't want to go to the really
bad teams, But if they skip over you and some
other team, they might already have a quarterback. You might
be Jordan law on the bench for four years because
they already have a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Does that make sense?

Speaker 7 (34:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (34:05):
It could, but Jordan Love came out on top in
that situation as well. No, but but I don't think
Jordan Love will be the player that he is now
if he would have started.

Speaker 7 (34:17):
No.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
I mean, I'm just looking at the draft, guys, and
I mean, if you're trying to appreciate it, call Joseph
and I get his point.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
You like, but you can't have it.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
You can't just ideally pick like, hey, I'd like to
go to the Steelers.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Let me and then I'll move down exactly eight spots
and then.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Because I mean to, let's just play the game a
little bit. So the first pick is the Titans. That's
not what Joseph is talking about. That's not a great team.
They were three and fourteen. You don't go there and
look like, oh man, they're just to me away now
maybe Cleveland because they still well Miles Garrett wants to
leave and who they are trying to figure that out,
work that out. Uh, there are some pieces that you
might like there, but again, three and fourteen is not

(34:56):
a great situation. The Giants three and fourteen, we already
know they're missing a whole lot.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Not a great situation as well.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
Patriots, I mean, like where the Jacksonville Jaguars, they're not
taking you. They already have Trevor Lawrence, so you only
the first spot maybe would be.

Speaker 5 (35:14):
Man.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
These are all bets. That's that's my point is that
and only.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Like I finally gets decent at eleven because the Bears
aren't taking you.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
They got they got saying right, and he's and he's
a first year.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Player, and they believe I think they're just gonna resign
Brocks at eleven with the forty nine ers. So it's like,
I get his point. Is he trying to So he's
trying to set it up to go to Dallas, all right,
the twelve. Is that what he's trying to do, go
back home to Texas.

Speaker 5 (35:38):
It sounds like he thinks is the NBA exactly one
guy I can show up with the number two pick
and instantly you're.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Change the whole. You can't do it he's doing.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
There's a reason why a lot of the teams I
just named constantly are there. So the Browns, the Giants,
the Jags, the Raiders, they're always up in them in
the mix of the time.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
Rob g I want you really quickly. You talked about
it before.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Donna TUROSSI has decided to retire after twenty years in
the w n B, a of her career. Unbelievable that
she was able to collect the paycheck that long for
that league.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
But tell me, I'm just being no. You just let
it in. I was all lookod about to give her
and are fathers of daughters rock?

Speaker 5 (36:21):
Yeah? Taking all the well we got five of them
around the corner a matter of days. Okay, So tell
me why did she have to hate on uh, Caitlyn?

Speaker 2 (36:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
That's what she studied at the University of Robert Parker,
That's why.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Yeah, class, Yeah, what does she say that was so
bad about?

Speaker 5 (36:45):
You remember before the season, Awakening got it and she
eventually backtracked on it, but she kind of held on
to it much longer than she needed to.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
And if she knew she was gonna because she had
to know she was.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
Going to retire it right, you know this season? They
don't think you just make a shit out of nowhere.
You don't want You want to go out gracefully if
you can.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
But a lot of people they have bad expents. That
is a hard thing to do, go out gracfually. They
sound good on paper, but a lot of people don't remember.
Steve de Segur and I talked about this.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
I don't have adjusted the other day about when Howard
Cosell left. Howard Cosell was like the sportscaster, heard his
career and you know what. He was bitter at the end,
hated everything. It was bad, perfect way it ended.
