Speaker 3 (01:15):
Turn around. There's nothing no.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I was in school today with the cords I got
on Corduroys today, a plane regular pullover with no.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
You got some odd couple underwear on something odd couple socks.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Maybe, yeah, but don't forget to check out the YouTube
channel and subscribe, do all that and much more, and
then don't forget coming up a little later on in
the program about forty minutes or so, try to talk
it Tuesday, one of our favorite days, of course. Uh
but rob G, I don't even know. Like rob G

(01:50):
was reacting yesterday to don't expect his fanily that, Like
I was like, are you really that? Like he was like, ah,
but Mexican. I was like, rob G really like like
are you the squad? Are you that caught up in it?
Or haven't you let it go? Like nothing's pay no
attention to that old coach behind the microphone or whatever

(02:12):
it is, Like, like, seriously, are you still like that?
You know they're not winning, So you know the Yankees
ain't winning.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Oh God, Judge, right down, God down by nine runs,
but oh god strike, oh God. It's the same thing.
I mean, we like who we like, and you like
Aaron Judge and I like this.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
It wasn't his fault. The sun was in his life.
That's why he dropped us off.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
I like the Lakers and the Raiders and the u
c A Labor All my teams other than the Lakers suck.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
But it's okay, okay, But but the Raiders, I mean
last night really there was.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
More of the same. I mean there was really nothing
unique about last night game. They got their doors blown off,
pert of the usual, they got the worst offensive football.
Geno Smith leaves the NFL internal What's.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Up with Gino half taking the blame it and like
half putting.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
He said, did you see that? He's like, you take
him like on me?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
So then he's like, if your kids don't go to school,
blame it on me. If you're sick tomorrow, blame it
on me. All Right, you know if you go I
like that. He was taking it at first, you know,
I'm the leader of the team, the quarterback. Then he
just put everything, if your dog sick, blame it on me.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
But to add insult to Andrew, you got touch on
this with me from an hour one for the second
time this season, an NFL franchise is you know what,
We're gonna kneel out the clock before the two minute
warning where it's not even possible for us to actually
kneel it out. We just want to save you the
embarrassment of what we're doing to you. It happened against
the Chiefs in week seven, happened again last night, in

(03:36):
either case with Andy Reid, in this case Brian Schottenheimer.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
But Schottenheimer was trying to say, like, oh, you know,
like he respects Peguil and that's.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
The thing is they work together.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yeah, So it definitely feels like we've reached the point
in Pete Carroll's career where they hold him in such
high regard for what he's done in college and in
the pros. He seems to be a really good guy.
But it's time to put the old dog out to pasture.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
And I say that, Rob g because and I agree,
because when you get to the point where you feel like, well,
I don't want to embarrass Pete anymore, that's when he
shouldn't be do you know what I mean? Like it
should never be that, Like you could have respect for
I'm we're my team is gonna we got two minutes, right,

(04:20):
We're gonna run our plays. There are other things we
want to work on we could do, you know what
I mean, Like, like you don't just stop playing, but right,
you know, you don't have to you don't have to score,
but you could run your plays, you know what I mean,
and try to work on some stuff. Get backups in there,
let them get some reps, put your door in whatever
you gotta do. Well, he's at the police station. What

(04:50):
but you get You get my point. It just feels odd.
Pete Carroll's had this career, wanted it in college. He
wanted to grate all this other stuff. And now teams
are sympathetic. He's a sympathetic figure, right, he That's what
That's what they're looking at him, like, oh, poor Pete.

(05:11):
He's seventy four. You know, hey, Pete, good try tonight.
You're gonna have some apple sauce with brown sugar tonight.

Speaker 6 (05:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
This is like that's where he is pathetic. It's pathetic.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
But this is one of the few times you know,
me and you called it early, both on the same
page about this. It just didn't make any sense for
a franchise that was so bad, and you knew.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
It was such a bad haircut, it makes sense. Yeah,
well he man, he man haircut. I don't know what
did you see him? Jack, him and Jerry Jones standing there.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
It was like.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Walk up the living day, like they didn't look great.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
They did not look I will say that. Listen, GQ
wasn't calling for that duo on the cover. But with
that said, you're right, man. Look Pete Carroll is in
that uncomfortable situation where we know you were good. We
know you were very great at certain points of your career,
but now we feel bad pad you know, putting bt
as as they say nowadays, and so you got doing

(06:11):
stuff that professionals rob. Both of y'all robs. Professionals shouldn't
have to do that. If Alabama wants to do that
to Youngstown's young Town state with Youngstown State, whatever, Okay,
I get it if they want.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
We've seen no.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Scores and like like they just because they're getting players in.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
I got four star recruits. Who's a triple he's the
third string cornerback?

Speaker 3 (06:33):
What want from me? If I don't play him today,
he ain't gonna play.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
And to me, this isn't This is an embarrassment to
where you are where that teams have to do this
to you as a professional, like I have to, you know,
take it easy as a professional. They lucky they don't
play Dan Campbell. He'll be doing that he'd be just
running it up like and I have no problem with that,
Like if they wanted to do that, if the Cowboys
went I'm not.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I'm trying to win. I'm trying to.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Get my team locked in, focused, and I should have to.
All right, Well, Pete was once a good code. I
don't want to do that. And it reminds me of Now,
let me say, Pete Carroll's had a very very good
football career. He ain't what I'm about to say, but
you'll get the gist of the analogy. It's like when
Larry Holmes had to take it easy on a beaten
in battered Muhammad Ali.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Remember that when Muhammad.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Ali was all time great to grind, I am the greatest,
but he went way longer than he should have. And
Larry Holmes, with this nice young upstart, used to work
with Muhammad Ali, used to train with him and all that,
and now he's beating his brains and he was like, man,
I got to take it easy on.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I know who he is.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
He means so much to me personally to the game,
the sweet science of boxing. And you got to kind
of just play and tip tap, you know, little jab
jabb because you don't want to beat him up like that.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
You don't want to embarrass him.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
And that's what it's kind of like with Pete now
or teams are just like, man, I ain't trying to
put you out there like that, And they shouldn't have
to consider that. This is pro sports getting paid millions
of dollars. Everybody's competing. People's jobs are on the line
week in week out, and I shouldn't have to consider,
you know, the old man's feelings. So I don't like
that if you're gonna blow him out, blow him out,
hey to win games. We're trying to continue to do

(08:01):
what we're doing. Continue our flow, continue to flow over
our offense in our game plan. I ain't trying to
stop for nobody. And this ain't high school, same middle school.
This ain't Pop Warner. I'm doing what I gotta do, which.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Which brings me to the world famous quote by Woody Hayes.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
They Ohio State football coach punch the kids.

Speaker 7 (08:20):
No.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
This was when they're in a lopsided game against Michigan
and he went for a two point conversion, and you know,
in a blowout, and they asked him, you know, why
did he go for two and his quote was because
I couldn't go for three.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
That's good and I don't have a problem with it.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
I think that's one of the all times, all right,
and especially Ohio State. If you go for two, I
couldn't go for three, Otherwise we'd have went for the
three piece on y'all. Yeah, So I just don't like
the idea score.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Wasn't that game forty four fourteen and he went for
a two point conversion? That's gangster, that's I don't like, y'all.
I know he was gangs so kids all that, But
I I just the Pete Carroll thing?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Is it over this year? Rob?

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Do you got to on this team? Like Mark Davis
is paying nine coaches? Man, he's still Gruden getting money.
Everybody getting money, like like ap peers getting money. I'm
gonna say they're gonna bring Pete Carroll back.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Yeah, they probably will, because I don't think that it's
in them to pay three coaches, to pay this many coaches.
And when he was a guy who was I'm not
gonna say hands selected, but nudged in by Tom Brady.
Tom Tom Brady is gonna be like I picked the GM,
I helped picked the coach, give him another season.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
They might give it to the quarterback, they might get
somebody else. Gotta give it you. I don't know what
the deal.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
This is the worst kind of season you could have
as a sports fan, because if your team sucks like
the Jets, like the Browns, like whoever, right, you can
go it like the Saints. You go into it saying,
all right, we're taking these l's. It's kind of embarrassing,
but we got the young coach and we got the
young quarterback.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Give us some time. We're building something and we're letting
them take these lumps. Now.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
No, I got a ninety one year old coach and
a thirty nine year old quarterback who've both been around
the block a few times.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
So we're taking these ls for no damn reason. And
that's the worst I agree.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Like, you want to have some similar to hope if
you're if you're let's say that Giants don't win another game,
at least think them all right, we got our guy,
we got a new coach, we got Jackson Dart. Maybe
we're gonna find it even better coach, and we got
Jackson Dart. You can be going Scatterboy's gonna be back
next year, you got some type of hope where you
can say, all right, defense looks pretty good. We got something.
Neighbors will be back, you know, the receiver. Once you
got something to hang your hat on. Man the raiders.

(10:42):
At least you can go well, at least we're in Vegas.
We got a good you know, if you went to
the game, like you want to go gamble.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
And I don't even know. I don't even know now
about Vegas.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
I went by the way, Yeah, what'd you think? It
ain't Vegason like it used to. I will admit now
I wasn't in the streets like that's not empty but
a little something magic. You've been to Vegas a ton,
you know what I mean? Like when it's when it's
a couple of years ago, it was humming.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Yeah, when I was there to corporate.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
When I got there, it wasn't It used to be
like you didn't feel like you were being nickeled and
dimed on everything.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
You know, it used to be able to get a
cheap meal.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Drinks weren't they I don't even know are they still
passing out free drinks in the casinos?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I don't even know if they're doing that.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
You got to gamble to get the free drinks, and
they don't come around as frequently.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
It used to be a ton of girls women on Yeah,
every that's the problem with the nickeling down to your point, Roger,
like you lose the magic of things.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
You have to pay for parking and now the hotels.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
You know that the resort fees that they get with
that money, because that's money that if I do my uh,
it's like the baggage. The reason that the bags on
an airline are separate from your ticket is they get
that money tax free, and your airline ticket is taxed.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
By the government, you know what I mean. And I
think there was the resort fee.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
There's something about it you get to the state or something,
you know what I mean. But but but you get
that's why they do it separate because they want that money.
And and uh and now you know everything is nickeledon.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Dot because a lot of places they build it as
it's optional, like oh, you don't have to access the pool,
you don't have to access the the workout area, you
don't have to access this. But if you want to
do any of these seventy five things, and most people
want to do.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
You use the ice machine. Rac is gonna be turned off.
Yeah we know I didn't use no reserve fee. Now
you opened the closet, put your suit in there, all right?

Speaker 1 (12:38):
An NFL quarterback as coaches around the league, quote scared
to death and not in a good way.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
We'll continue that next.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
It is the couple on a trash talking Tuesday, Rob
Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio. Alex

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Fox Sports Radio, The Hot Couple Rob Parker covin Washington
on a trash Talking Tuesday, which is coming up in
about twenty minutes or so. For over forty years, tire
Rack has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
for what, and for where they drive. Shit fast and
free back by free Road has a protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation. That's right, they'll come

(14:38):
to you wherever you are tire rack dot com. It
is the way tire buying should be. We got trash
talking Tuesdays. I mentioned coming up in about twenty minutes
or so. But Rob g uh big. It was ended
up being one of those games we looked at, kind
of marked on the calendar. You had the Seahawks and
the Rams. Good game in a sense of theater, but
Sam Donald was terrible and four interceptions in that game,

(14:59):
and it got some even anonymous coach is talking right.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Yeah, the Vikings said okay, thank you. Yeah, they went anonymous.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
It was the Vikings in the Rams, like we've seen
this now, zero touchdowns, four picks, the third time in
his career this has happened.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
You got to take it easy with that. That's incredible.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
I didn't even know you could get away with more
than one of those where you just bent forever.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Nathan Peterman somewhere like, oh but when I do it right.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
But you know, it was a big game because both
of those teams were vine for first places, not only
a division, but in the NFC, like there are two
of the best teams in that conference, and so On Tuesday,
the athletic Mike Sandal front of the show spoke to
a slew of anonymous coaches, non of execs on a
series of different NFL quarterbacks and when they were asking
about Sam Darnold, one of the anonymous coaches said, quote

(15:42):
talking about the four interception game, Sam's just gonna have
that in him for life. He will play great, he'll
play good, then he's gonna have one of those plays.
The problem is when you get established as a playoff
team like the Vikings were, like the Seahawks are, everyone
is gared to death about when that game is gonna.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Happen, including yours. Truly, this is this is why I
was out on him. Remember I told you very clearly
I'm out. I'm not reshigning him if I'm the Vikings
the two biggest games of the year, and then here's
another game against the Rams. With the playoff game against
the Rams. We know how big that game against the
Lions was. Remember Kelvin, this wasn't like the defense dominated

(16:28):
Sam Donaldy couldn't move the ball. They were in the
red zone all day in the first half, and then
they couldn't get it in right, he couldn't score, and
then it came back.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Of course in the second half they teed off on him.
But my point is.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Sam Donald will have this until he wins a big
playoff game or people can feel confident that he's not
gonna turn into a pumpkin. We talk about it all
the time, Ryan Fitzpatrick, remember all the time when it
wasn't his job, come in awesome, made magic job. It

(17:01):
comes to pumpkin?

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Who else? The other guy? Always we had another guy?

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Well, I don't think he has no from the Eagles,
uh nick Foles.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
How many times they try to give.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Him the job, right, Like, hey, we wanna make him
the Nick Foles is unbelievable, Let's make him the starting quarterback.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Uh No. The challenge with this is like, it's not
that you're wrong.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
He has, you know, so far and if he didn't
have meaningful games because he wasn't playing that good, and
then all of a sudden he has meaningful games last
season specifically, and he didn't perform. The trouble is like,
you have to have a quarterback right because if you're
let's say you're the Seahawks. Well he's better than Geno, right,
so now you got an upgrade. He's got you too.
Over the last two seasons, he's twenty one and six

(17:50):
and he's gotten that with what I think makes it
more interesting, he's done it now with two franchise, not
like he's the same team, same system, same everything. Okay,
he's done it out with a completely different team, completely
different side of the country, you know, a whole new environment.
And he's twenty one and six so far between last
season and this season. And you look at the numbers.
Numbers are really good. They're Pro Bowl caliber numbers, and
it that's what you want from a guy, and you

(18:11):
kind of got a discount in comparison to the productivity.
But again you're right that he hasn't shown up and
he has these freak out moments.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
He had it.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
I mean, you look a couple of those intercepts and
told Rob G I don't mind Wonder, I don't even
mind two sometime. Look, if you're if you're trying to
make a play, that's part of the position. I don't
mind my quarterback trying to make a play. That's part
of the game.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
At times.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
What I don't want you to do is spiral out
of control right where it's just you can't get out
of it. You get you get freaked out. Jared Goff
to your point, did that last year against the Commander.
I don't mind an interception two first half Josh Allen
just three, yeah, four fourth towur turnovers five? No, it
was was it three? A fumble man? He might have

(18:49):
had five turner It was bad. But you look at
Josh Allen this past week. A couple of interception first half,
you know, shakes it off. Three touchdowns on the ground,
three through the air. Don't let it spiral. A lot
of control. And if you're Sam Darnold, dude, you got
one of the best defenses.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
You got a.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
Running game that is one of the better on once
you guys get rolling, you got amazing skill sets on
the outside.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Relax, rely on that. You don't have to be Superman.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
And that's what I will be trying to communicate, because dude,
I don't mind if you turn over. I don't care
if it's the playoffs you turn that's that happens. You
turn over twice, Hey, it happens. We had a whole
second half. You can't be horrible in the first half,
horrible in the second half. Bounce it off, bounce back,
shake back, let's get it going. So that would be
my thing with him is he can't spire a lot
of control. We believe in you. You're a guy. I

(19:36):
love his teammate that came out and said, you know,
don't blame him. He's cussing at the you know, he's
our blanket quarterback and all that stuff. But yeah, I
can understand the concern. Moll on league last quick point,
Rob if we're only gonna base it off like well,
you know super Bowl, it's like, well, it's only been
like three guys in the last ten years, like Tom Brady,
Patrick Maholmes, and but.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
It's not just the super Bowl. It's the big games
in those moments. That's why he didn't get the contract. Like,
like you could sit there and go, what JJ McCoy
if they really believed in him.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
I don't care about JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
If we found and stumbled on the Sam Donald who
was a first round drive pick and had a really
good college career, and we happened to get him, and
now he's matured and he's ready to go, and he
knows our system, you sign that guy, do you know
what I mean?

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Like, you know, I still think they should have.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
But but but that was the reservation and and that's
their that was their prerogative because they went into that
season with JJ McCarthy as their starter.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
Then he gets injured.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
No, it's not because it's not it's not just the
JJ McCoy. It's that I don't want to give this
guy that much that money. I don't believe in him.
I think that's where it comes under it. I absolutely
get what you're saying. I still think you're understanding the JJ. Like,
let's say he didn't exist, JJ, he wasn't on a roster.
Sam Donald does what he did for the Vikings, they
absolutely resigned. No, but they don't because they traded. They

(20:55):
they moved up to get at ten. You go, all right,
well we got but what they might have done is
franchise tagging for a year not to give them.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
I'm just saying, like, like they're not gonna run.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
It's just like the Daniel Jones when they're talking about,
oh yeah, we want to lock him up. No, No,
if Daniel Jones second half of the season is more
like Giants and he has the foreign receptions, or he
has some bad games, they will rethink that because they'll say,
was it the schedule? You know, we did have some
easy games. Now all of a sudden, here's some meltdown.
Will make this one interesting to our points. I hear you.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
I don't think they have anything waiting in the wings,
like I said, JJ McCarthy. So I think they will
resign it because.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
I'm not convinced, because I just don't not when you
have to sign somebody to a big deal like that,
that's what.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
They're finding, these perfect little hybrid. It's great for you, Baker,
It's great for you, San Donald, be great for you
Daniel Jones, because look, we didn't think you were gonna
be anything anymore. Now you got some good money, Gino,
that'll be good for you if you're not break breaking
the bank for the for the organization.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
If you're seriously to be a free agent right and
his spot, Sam Donald, and to get the kind of
rinky dink contract that Seattle gave.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
That says something as well as he.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
I hear you, but I think they gave a two
year deal to Justin Fields and he's got a one
plus one. Do you know what I mean, like, like seriously,
but if you're Sam Donald, who prior to the Viking season,
you go, he ain't about to be no start.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Yeah right, Sam Donald, you're twenty eight. It seem like
he's been in the league twelve years. Sam Donald's only
twenty eight. You just got this deal based off of
the season. Projects about it the same as it should
the first half of it. You're about to get a
big deal, just like Baker Dial. I'm not convinced.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
So if you're a Seahawks, you're not paying them why?
I need to see how the season plays out.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Let's say it pretty much saying that he's gonna have
another stinker here there, but mostly the same.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
It's depends on where I'm not going to invest.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
Yeah, so if he gets twelve wins, which is they're
on track to get maybe more, but they're on't tracked
to get that.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
No, I'm the first playoff, they lose to the right.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
And he has a bad game because because it has
to predicces, let's say that he has he has a
bad gamemble.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Yeah, then I lose. Yeah, did I have to say, well,
he might not be that guy and signing. No, But
I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
I'm talking about if he's going to take a franchise tag,
I want to see him one more year, give him
another chance to look at it. I'm talking about giving
somebody a four year, big time contract Tom Brady. No,
he's got to he's got to win a playoff game
before I really say, what if he wins the first one,
lose the next round.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
No, he's got to win a playoff game.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
I'm just I'm not convinced that ultimately he will turn back.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Into the Let nobody get so Rob.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
If he wins like a wild card game against I
just got to right. And he's not great, He's not terrible.
He's just two hundred and twenty yards one touchdown on whatever. Okay,
But then he goes the next week and he gets
Philly or he gets the Rams and they blow the
doors off him, and he's terrible. I'd have to because
of his history.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
I would be afraid not to offer him some sort
of deal like Seattle offered him a deal right, which
was which was middling?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
And what was it? One in one? Wasn't it?

Speaker 6 (24:08):
Like?

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Yeah, I guarantee is not as big as right.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
Right, It's not like.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Right, but it wasn't like, here's two years fully guaranteed
and and we believe in you. It wasn't that I
would be more after that kind of contract again, just
to make sure that I don't put myself out there,
like when the Giants signed Daniel Jones after that playoff
win against Minnesota, right, they immediately regreted.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
That's the only thing immediately we did.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
But he's played infinitely better than Daniel Jones that year,
infinitely the last ever had.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
But these two losses were so bad, I know, we
got to Yeah, those two losses were so bad.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
They were all right, good conversation.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
We got the Jay Franklin and a whole bunch of
money that it was some money situation. We'll explain that
in just a moment. We got Steven sagash talk and
that's right.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
You might want to start a.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Line of Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Thanks Steve, appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
I cover Robin Kelvin on a trash Talking Tuesday eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. If you want to get
ready for that. You can line up for that as well,
all right. James Franklin, former Penn State coach. Obviously they
were losing to him of his duties, rob they were
gonna owe him forty nine million dollars for the buyout,

(25:33):
But then he chose to get back into coaching ranks
and he wants to. Now he is now gonna be
the coach for Virginia Tech Solid Tallet's on a bounce
back job. And he worked out a deal with Penn
State where they're gonna do a buyout for just a
nine million, and then of course Virginia take will take
the forty million and work that out.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
So you and I were talking a little bit off air.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
Just yesterday, like do you stay home sif some pinacolades,
enjoy your forty nine million and just you know, hang
out and kind of just enjoy life getting this money
at home, or do you take the job getting right
back into coaching ranks and you know, get back to work.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Where are you am?

Speaker 1 (26:11):
I'm fine with him doing what he is. He's not
losing any money. He was going to get the money
either waste. But he could have been at the crib
no he's fifty.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
Three years old.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
He doesn't he's not trying to be at the crib.
He's a football coach. And if you sit out for
a couple of years, people go, he lost his desires fire,
the sports passed him by. So you got to be
real careful with that. You think everybody can get back in.
Coaches get out and they feel like, oh, he's you know,
this guy's been playing golf for the last three years

(26:39):
and you know, and living it up. And he's not.
He's not the kids or whatever. He's distant. The game
is passed him by all that kind of stuff. So
once you get out, it's hard really to get back in.
And that's why coaches don't want to do it. At
fifty three, I understand why he would want to continue
to coach. He's not ready to retire as a coach.

(26:59):
And I think this is the other part. He doesn't
want to go out like that, like like that, like
your legacy and whatnot. They wearing you out of Penn
State because you couldn't win the big game. That will
be James Franklin who was pushed out of Penn State
after failing to win that.

Speaker 5 (27:17):
Like that's a part of your legacy legacy and your
old bitcher work. No, he's got about.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Kelvin Washington, who worked with Rob Parker during the glory
days of the Odd Couple. No, that's what you not
just my obituat and by the way, he had a
wife and some kids. But tell you g who was
the producer for Rob Parker and The Odd Couple during

(27:42):
his glory.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
By the way, he has a wife, kids, whatever, But no,
he did the same.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Cannot do your obituary Alex who was a vegan and
was the super engineer for Rob Parker and the Eye
Couple during the glory days.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Oh yeah, he had a lady man.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
I took the same. I took the same. He had
a great segment on the show. But ultimately it was
his loyalty to Rob Parker. That's that really stood out. Oh,
by the way, he had a nice ponytail.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Too, you know, yeah, how about that?

Speaker 9 (28:12):
No, it's not bad, I'm bad, right, And just put
also that my application mb bro is rejected.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
And there's a big picture of a couple other dudes.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
With parentheses of his ancestry dot com. Like he wasn't
black enough. He was only point zero zero? What im saying,
had you been Blake Snail Black, you like Snail, you
would have made it.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
Is the man, colorblind man fifteen years about for him.
He's got you to my point three. We were talking
about this earlier. Absolutely dude redemption. He wants to redeem himself.
Get back out there the love of the game. I
want to show these dudes I can coach. I ain't
going out like that. I want to win competitive game.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
I might not win a national championship, but I want
to win that big game at some point.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
In Virginia Tech's a great school where the expectations are
just low enough that he messes around and wins his
you know, his conference and dah da da and you
know it's twelve games right now. In the college football players,
you mess around to make the college football plaofs in
a couple of two three years, just because you know
they're gonna when story dimpster story, you did it. Look
what you did. They didn't think you could do it.
And then now you set yourself up for three to
five years. Now you're taking an Oklahoma job, a Miami job,

(29:21):
getting right back in the big boy level. So he's young.
Absolute fifty three is ridiculously. You know, you and I
sit up here and laugh at some of these coaches.
Seventy five eighty. We just talked about Pete Carrol.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
He Carroll's seventy four, and like he's.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
Got plenty of time to redeem himself and get to
a level. And I think he also just loves the game.
Like this is what I'm a coach. I'm a ball coach.
This is what I do. The money still there, got
a good bye. You'll get nine million on top of whatever,
you know Virginia Tech. Ultimately the deal they give you.
So it's a great position. You're in your prime of
life of what you do. You're still in your prime
of life. Like in this career path we get a

(29:52):
good runway in certain you know careers. He's in the
middle of that. For a coach, this is where you peak.
Think about Nick Saban, he was still winning national championshi
in his seventies. So absolutely it makes sense. That's what
you want to do. You don't want to be home golfing.
You want to be productive. Man, makes sense to me.
And you're getting paid millions and you're still you're.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Not losing a don He's still gonna get every nickel
that was owed to you.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
So what's the difference? Who's paying me?

Speaker 5 (30:14):

three and a half and that's a lot. I mean,
they're not winning anything this year because they have no

(33:22):
help for the reps.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
There we go, no help from the rest. That's funnyl right,
all right, appreciate, I appreciate you. How about Chili CHIMSI
in Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (33:32):

Really he told us.

Speaker 13 (33:52):
He was seeing ghosts back, dude, I mean, come on,
he's still seeing ghosts out there on the field. So
I got a thing Rob this paying with the the Raiders.
So every time he looks across the steels, he'll see

It's a perfect.

Speaker 3 (34:06):

Justin Herbert is that guy and he just isn't gentlemen,

(34:43):
and please convince them.

Speaker 5 (34:44):
Please all right, you know, shout out to Joey and

Speaker 3 (36:40):
I'm trashing for that ry.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
We at least we made it and we had time
for Mason Sandyeah the couple fire.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Who you trashing Mace?

Speaker 11 (36:52):
This is a story edition for that repeat offender. I
hate with every fiber in my being. He liked Manning
aka she like Manning specifically for showing your displeasure with
the whole world witness during Super Bowl fifty when the
chandler showed you in the press box with your disappointing, sad,
poofy face. Well, the rest of your family was celebrating
your own brother of Peyton during the Super Bowl. Some
brother you are. State was cheering you on both times

(37:13):
during your Super Bowl appearances. Evidently you can't show the
same amount of support. Wait to does she lie? It's
write the two super Bowl wins here Her record was
wonder the sempty wins and undred and empty losses in
the regular season and never made first team off Pro.
This's was justification for you not to be a first
ballot Hall of Famer. Yet us boot up the end.
I haint Sheli Manning so much. I will no longer
eat a jersey mics because this plus is a new spokesperson.

(37:34):
Way to go Jersey Mike he pix this morning. He
does not possess the ability to formulate a coher an
intelligence sentence. I don't know why this idiots costs me
on commercials now. I want to fill my remote at
the TV every time I see a stupid face. There
was nothing more annoying in this world than to hear
you go, oh the every time you were at the
ball in the ball come out with a new audible
terminology's idiot. Here's a jest. Now that you're the sandwich industry,
you should say a visits to Jared Bogel, the X

(37:56):
subway spokesperson who's now in prison. He's the person.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
Are all right, all right, all right, all right, Well

Hold up, hold up, don't bring up.

right that. That's that's crazy. Uh, thank you Jared for
the call. Appreciate it. By the way, I mean Danny

Speaker 1 (39:01):

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
