Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio living the drain once

Sports Red Zone Radio. We're broadcasting live from the ti
iraq dot com studios tirerac dot com. We're gonna help
get to their an unmatched selection fat free shipping. Free

(00:21):
Road has our protection over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirac
dot com the way tire buying should be. Let's get
you set for the day. We got eight games about
to kick off. By the way, bye week teams, the Dolphins,
the Seahawks, Buccaneers, and the Jags are off this week.
We got the Bears at the Falcons, Browns at the Bills,
Eagles at the Colts, Jets at the Patriots, Rams at

(00:45):
the Saints, Lions at the Giants, Panthers at the Ravens,
and Commanders at the Texans and rich As we get
this Sunday started around the NFL, A couple of things
stand out. There a lot of dog games this morning.
That doesn't mean they're not gonna be great games, but
on pay for some of these matchups are purty forgettable.
Right now, I'm just curious on your overside of the

(01:07):
NFL season. As we are motoring past the halfway point,
what have we seen so far? In your opinion here
in two Well, what we've seen, I think is the
effect of teams trying to make too many changes all
at once across the board, you know. I mean, we
see how many coaches switched over, not only this season,

(01:30):
but in very recent seasons. We see how many teams
have had new quarterbacks come in via the draft or
in free agency, or even in trade. And I feel,
certainly from the offensive side, some of the discord that
we saw early this season the first half of this
season was a result of so many of those changes

(01:51):
and all those chickens coming home to roost. So I'm
I'm expecting to see better offensive play in the second
half of the season, because it's like the old adage goes, hey,
you're not a rookie anymore. You know, hey, you know
you're not a rookie head coach anymore. You know, you've
been through ten weeks of the NFL season, so it's
time to see if it's working or if it's not.

(02:12):
A lot to prove the second half of the season.
For a lot of players out there, helming really important
positions on franchises and some on the field. Well, you
mentioned the fact that there were a lot of changes
in this offseason. Ten new coaches around the NFL, five
with previous head coaching experiencing the NFL five guys that
are newbies. One of those new beats course Kevin O'Connell,

(02:32):
who's taken over that Vikings team. That game is gonna
be a little bit later on this afternoon when the
Vikings host the Colts. How about the Colts being favored
in that game at Minnesota. Vikings won seven a row,
they're eight and one, they're undefeated at home. The Cowboys
despite their six and three records back to back games
where they've allowed two hundred yards rushing. They have the

(02:54):
twenty ninth rank rushing defense in the league. They're gonna
go up against one of the best running backs in
the league in Dalvin Cook. And Dallas has favored in
this game over the Vikings, and by the way, that
number is going up, money is pouring in on the
Cowboys to win at Minnesota. So I think, what's happening
right now? You look at the Giants, you look at
the Jets, you look at the Vikings. A lot of

(03:15):
teams they have really good records. No one's buying into it. Yeah, yeah,
that's exactly right. You know, these these bookmakers, they're trying
to obviously get get close to as even betting as
they can, and they're struggling to find the number with
some of these teams. Because I wouldn't put a huge
number on Dallas to beat the Vikings, but the public,
the market has spoken and there's a lot of believers

(03:38):
out there. I'd be fascinated to see where the sharp
money is going. I would assume on Dallas's side as well,
since the numbers moved as much as you say, But um,
but this is this is what the NFL looks like, right.
We we know that home advantage is super important, but
we also know that you have to believe in a quarterback,
right and when you go DC versus kirk Cousins, when

(04:01):
you when you're just in a vacuum, take everything else
out of the picture picture, who do you trust more?
I mean I lean Dak every day of the week. Now,
it doesn't mean that kirk Cousins can't beat that. It
doesn't mean that kirk Cousins on any given day can't
be better than Dak. But Dak Prescott to me is
a better clutch time performer than Kirk Cousins. And I
think that's what the market is representing, is just basically

(04:23):
the quarterback matchup, all right. I am looking here and
I don't know, Ryan, do you understand here the Jets
Patriots game, which, by the way, is the only game
of the eight games kicking off right now where both
teams have a winning record. Of course, that whole a
f C East has a winning record. Right now, it
says delayed. I don't know what the delay is about.

(04:44):
Of course, there's been some horrific weather on the East
coast out there where the Buffalo Bill's home game ended
up getting moved to Detroit. Technical difficulties, all right, technical
difficulties right now with the Jets and Patriots. But here's
a game the Jet some Patriots, really interesting matchup. Both
teams had a bye week, so they've had two weeks
to prepare for this matchup. And the Jets coming off

(05:07):
that huge one against the Bills when they beat up
Josh Allen, imagine one they could do to Mac jones um.
And yet the Patriots are a substantial favorite. Again, this
Jets team City at six and three. I know they're
not generating a whole lot of offense, but defensively, that
defensive front is performed as well as any defensive front

(05:28):
in the NFL. Just a heads up here, and according
to Jets twitter, kickoff has been delayed ten minutes. We
do not see a skycam anywhere. That's what they've tweeted in.
Just all right, so that games being delay. But why
why are the Patriots such a prohibitive favorite in this
game against the Jets. Well, they've they've played them, um,
just two weeks ago, right, you know, so you remember

(05:50):
the win last week or last week saw the Patriots
against the Colts. Uh, And that was a big win
for the Patriots and that was a struggling Colts team obviously,
that's before they went on to face the Raiders with
their new head coach Um. But the Jets they beat
them seventeen in New York, and the Patriots were in
a dent in terms of health. So coming off the

(06:12):
bye week and then facing a young quarterback again this
time at home, I get it. You know, this is
the Bell Belichick effect. It's it's one of those things
that we've seen throughout the course of his time his
tenure as the head coach of the New England Patriots,
against younger quarterbacks, he typically wins. And so I I
don't I don't blame anybody or or I I it's

(06:34):
it's not bizarre to me that the Patriots are such
favorites heading into this game. Well, again, the Pagets are
beaten the Jets now thirteen straight times. I guess that's
probably why. Uh, they are prohibitive favorites here. But again
that game is being delayed right now already the Colts
on the move against this Eagles team. Uh, a lot

(06:55):
of controversy when Jeff Saturday was hired as the head
coach of the Colds. They one last week against the
hapless Raiders. Uh, now they're driving against the Eagles now,
the Eagles coming off for them an embarrassing money and
I performance. They did not play well against the Commanders.
They were out coached, they were outplayed in that game.
It's a short week. They go on the road, prohibitive

(07:16):
favorites against the Coals. But on this opening drive, the
Colts are going right down the field, touchdown Washington speaking
of the Commanders, a pick six for the Commanders all right,
so pick six for the Commanders as they get the
first score there on the road against the Texans. But
this Eagles team right now started eight and oh did
not look good in that Monday night loss to the Commanders.
Short week on the road against the Colts team with

(07:38):
an interim coach. Um, where are we with the Eagles
right now? Well, I'm at the same place I was
two weeks ago. And I know a lot of people
are sounding alarms on the Eagles. I'm not quite there yet.
This is a really, really good team. Now. Do they
give up a little too much on the ground shore,
you know, but their middle of the road to bottom
tier team in that category. Other than that, this team

(08:01):
is pretty amazing. This team statistically is right where you
want them to be from a turnover margin standpoint. Their
tops in the NFL, even after suffering the turnovers that
they had against the Commanders. And I think that's really
the whole story. Stupid penalties and four turnovers will get
you a loss every single time. And they had a
bunch of bad penalties and they had four turnovers. I mean,

(08:24):
how do you win that football game. I don't think
they were necessarily outplayed. I don't think they were necessarily
out coached. I think they beat themselves and that's exactly
what happened on Monday night, and if they do it again,
that's exactly what will happen against the Colts. But assuming
they cleaned that up where they have been one of
the lesser penalized team in the country and one of
the teams that protects the football better than anybody else

(08:45):
in the NFL, I think they'll have success on the
road in Indie. Well right now, and he just scored.
So Jonathan Taylor just burrowed into the end zones. So
the Colts take the early six nothing lead here over
the Eagles, penning the extra point, and Jeff Saturn is
fired up. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns have gotten on the scoreboard.
It was a touchdown pass from Jacobieber said to Mary Cooper.

(09:09):
So they have a seven nothing lead on the road
against the Bills. How about that the Bills on a
two game losing streak, and you give up a touchdown
the opening drive to the lowly Browns, and the Falcons
have a first and goal at the Bears two yard
line on their opening drive and it's a touchdown, and
it is a touchdown, So alright, so Drake London on

(09:30):
the receiving and the rookie out of USC Marcus Mariota
right there with a touchdown pass. So some early scoring
around the NFL just quickly because Mark Schlareth is gonna
join us on the other side of talk about that
Raiders Broncos game coming up this afternoon. Bills two game
losing streak. We sat here trying to figure out what
the hell was going on in that Vikings game, one

(09:51):
of the most bizarre NFL finishes we've ever seen. Rich
but everyone just assumes, Okay, the Bills will be okay.
I don't know. Something's out right in Buffalo right now. Well,
Josh Allen, I don't think he's a hundred percent, but
you couldn't tell by watching him play. That ball still
has a tremendous amount of zip on it. What what?
What is a problem is his decision making, especially when

(10:13):
they're in the scoring zone this team, once they cross
over the third yard line. His pension to throw interceptions
or turn over the football like we saw with that
fumble coming off his own goal line, giving the Vikings
a late score. Uh and uh and an opportunity to
win the game. The Bills of course went down the
field and we're able to tie and push that game
into overtime. It's bad and it needs to be cleaned up. Uh,

(10:37):
He's he was a little bit prone to be wild
with the football when he came into the NFL. It
feels like he's he's regressed a little bit this season.
But over all, the Bills are very deep team who
have suffered some injuries recently, but they're getting healthier in
the secondary with Power back this afternoon. We'll see what happens.
But um, yeah, Look, this is a game that was

(10:58):
supposed to be played at home, and instead the Bills
now have ten road games and to their seventeen home games.
Instead of hosting the Browns, they're playing this game in Detroit,
So we'll see if that has effect on them. The
fact that so many of these guys are leaving their
homes with four ft of snow on the ground in
Buffalo and had to deal with all of the week

(11:20):
leading up to that, and now concentrate on a football
game in a different city that was supposed to be
a host site for Buffalo against the Browns. All right,
let's get a couple of early highlights in first one
coming courtesy of the Commanders. Snap the mills its throat again.
It's like Park like picked off, like Fullerty down the sidelight,
he goes pick six. He then touchdown, touch down Washington.

(11:42):
We were just talking, Yeah, we were just talking Big
one Commanders Radio Network. So the Commanders take the early
seven nothing lead against Houston, keep the highlights coming, Sam
and emotions, Arras Campbell. They give up the Jonathan Taylor
chuck cutting its ways there touchdown in d y Chonathan

(12:03):
Taylor finds the in zone in back to back game.
Colts Radio Network right there. So the Indianapolis Colts, they
may not lose the game of Jeff Saturday. He is
my pick to be the NFL Coach of the Year.
By the way, not on President Bruce Arians took over
as the Colts coach as an interim and turned out
to be a coach of the year. There is some
history there with the Colts and interim coaches. Right now,

(12:25):
the Colts have the early seven nothing lead against the
eight and one Eagles. All right, once again, we got
a lot going on here on a very busy Sunday
on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio coming up on the
other side, we're gonna get a little look at the
game I head between the Raiders and the Broncos. Will
be joined by NFL Fox NFL analyst Mark Schlaret coming

(12:45):
up next. This is Fox rad Zone Radio, and we've
got the place that you may admits white fake Mariota
trying to go to pets on the left of the release.
Go play it well, Marcus throws out, my goodness, black
line caught Drake one out of nowhere out an Atlanta touchdown.

(13:09):
Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
This is Fox Red Zone Radio. That was nine the game.
Falcons Radio Network gave the Falcons a seven nothing lead.
The Bears have tied it up. That game's all tied
at seven. All right, we'll keep you updating on all

(13:29):
the games going on right now, but coming up a
little bit later on, it's the Raiders and the Broncos. No,
it's time for the NFL. Out of Fox Focus and
join us right now. Fox NFL analysts Mark schlare at
the three time Super Bowl champion. Alright, Mark, I want

(13:50):
to get one question out of the way, the obvious question,
why has the Josh McDaniel's hiring been such a disaster
so far for the Raider. Well, I mean, I think
there's a I think there's a lot of things, you know,
that you can point to. Obviously, anytime you put in
a new system, there's new burbage, there's new philosophies, there's

(14:11):
changes in the way that you function. Um. You know,
like one thing that I think people make too much
of a new systems everybody runs the same crap. So
everybody runs, you know, if your curl flat, everybody runs.
And if you're running you know, double slants, everybody runs that.
You know that whatever whatever it is, you know, slat flat, combination,
a dagger, a dancer, you know, it's it's all the

(14:33):
same crap, but it has different terminology. More importantly, there's
different nuance to it all. So then it comes down to, well,
I used to be coached to to read it this way.
This coaching staff wants me to read it this way.
And there's adjustments for everybody in that and so that's
part of it. And then when you had planned at

(14:54):
the beginning of the year to be more of an
eleven personnel football team, you know, with with Jacob and
with Waller and then go three wides, you know, with
Davante Adams and Hunt Hunter Renfro and you know you
put car and Renfro and Waller and and Davante Adams together.
They've played the sum total of I think sixty two
snaps together this year, sixty two less than a game.

(15:18):
And so you have to make a change on what
personnels you can use, what kind of groupings you can use,
what kind of formations you can use. So there's just
a there's a lot of things that have changed for them,
and um, and that's always a work in progress. It
sounds like an excuse, but um, there are quote unquote reasons. Yeah,
I'm more on your side than against you in this

(15:40):
debate because this team seems closer than a lot of
people are making it out. And I know this week especially,
there are a lot of people piling on the Josh
McDaniels should be fired, but Mark Davis can't fire him situation,
And I don't know. I mean, look, they've lost a
lot of close games. I'm not gonna make too many
excuses for a team that can't close out their opponents.

(16:01):
But I mean, really, how far do you think the
Raiders are from being good or even potentially being great,
considering some of the talent, especially around this offense. Yeah,
I think offensively they've got a chance, now you were.
They've blown three seven teen point leads, and you know,
I mean that's that's one of those things where that's
more mindset to me than anything else. Um, when you

(16:23):
blow leaves like that, that is you basically letting off
the gas and your guys going like, we've done enough today.
Let's let's shut her on down. And that would never
be the case. Man, when you get somebody down, you
gotta be able to step on people's throats. And that's
this league because everybody's talented. You give a little bit
of momentum to another team and the next thing, you know,
especially when you look at defensively, what they've been the

(16:45):
inability defensively, I mean there's a last dead last in
the league as far as sacks are concerned. Um, you
know that they've had some struggles on the defensive side
of the ball. So all of a sudden, you give
a little momentum to a football team and they feel like,
oh gosh, we can attack this defense. You know, we've
got to. Really, there's one dude that we have to
contend with. That's Max Crosby. Beyond that, like we're good
and so yeah, I think I think a lot of

(17:06):
that is just mentality and and that's culture. And that's
one of the things that, as you know, is one
of the toughest things in the world to uh, to
overcome or to create is that culture because it's not static. Man,
that thing is alive and it has to be worked
on in priest and and you know, and massage and
manipulated every single day. So I think that's one of
the things, um that they've really kind of struggled in

(17:27):
putting in place. And I think that's where you saw
there a car gets so frustrated on the podium the
other day. Well, Mark, they're not the only struggling team.
The Broncos is struggling as well, by the way I
saw this stat Of course, this rivalry goes back to
the old AFL. The last time these teams had a
worst combined record in a matchup was nineteen sixty four.

(17:49):
That's a long long time ago. So we talked about
the Raiders situation, what's going on with the Broncos because
a lot of people expected Mark that you bring in
so Wilson. He's a game changer. A lot of people
thought they would be the main threat to the Chiefs
in the a f C West, and it just seems
like they've never gotten out of the gate. Yeah, they haven't.

(18:11):
And uh, and that's been a big issue. And you know,
there's a lot of things going on. Nathaniel Hackett has
turned over play calling duties to Click Kubiak today. Um.
That started early in the week and the news just broke.
I spent half an hour twenty minutes on the phone
with the with coach Hackett this morning. UM, kind of
discussing how that went. That's his decision. But the bottom

(18:34):
line is they have made so many issues there there.
There's number one as far as penalties are concerned in
the National Football League, Number one in yards penalized in
the National Football League, Number one through nine games in
false starts in the National Football League. They are always
behind the chain. And one of the decisions that Nathaniel
Hackett made after just a lackluster, dismal performance in Tennessee

(18:57):
was I'm gonna start coaching my whole football team. I
can't have my my face buried in the play sheet
and not coach this football team, um and I mean
every position. So that's something that he made a commitment
to this week. It wasn't one of those things that
you know, the general manager or ownership made him do.
It was something he decided on the plane back from

(19:18):
uh back from Tennessee and you know, and and and
rally the troops and said this is the way we're
gonna do things. So, you know, it is one of
those things that I know, you always want to be
a play caller and that's but when you become the
head coach man, it's your responsibility the way your football
team plays. And he's taking responsibility, and you know, I
commend him. I commend him for making that change. I
think one of the big things he's getting Russell Wilson

(19:39):
in some type of you know, just some type of rhythm,
and Russell way too often turns down the gimme because
he wants to make something big happen. And they're not
talented enough to do that. They're not talented enough up
front to do that, they don't run the ball well
enough to do that. So basically, get back to taking
a profit. Don't be bored with success. Let the big

(20:00):
place happen, but let's not force big plays to be made.
And I think that's one of the big I think
that's one of the big issues that that precipitated is.
And if if Russell does that, I think there'll be
a lot better for it. Um, it's just a matter
if you'll do it or not. Yeah, we were just
talking about McDaniels and his efforts to build a culture
to step on a team's neck when you're up. You know,

(20:21):
Nathaniel Hackett wanting to coach the whole team. Quarterbacks have
a lot to do with that too, as you know, Mark,
I mean my time with you know, some of these quarterbacks,
like Bradier Rivers, they're part of creating that culture. When
Brady went to the Buccaneers, I mean that culture turned on.
When Stafford was traded to the Rams. I think he
helped make believers out of that locker room. Again, it

(20:42):
hasn't had that effect with Russell coming from Seattle to Denver.
Why do you think that is? Well, because mostly just
because they have not been in sync as coach, lake
caller quarterback and they have not produced. So they have
not I mean they've scored old total touchdowns on the
twelve touchdowns. I mean, it's it's I mean, I can't

(21:06):
even Russell Wilson, in eight games started, has thrown seven
touchdown passes. I mean, when you when you're not producing offensively,
you know, it's hard to get complete total buy in
um from your football team. The other thing is is
when you're always behind the chains, when you're getting holding calls,
when you're getting you know, false star penalties, when you're
getting all that stuff. Now, all of a sudden, you

(21:27):
know this is an offensive lineman. When you're behind the
chains now, Like I always, I always when I consult
the teams to talk to teams, I always talk about
taking the passive out of pass protection. Allow me to
be the aggressor. Allowed me in a five step drop
without a hitch. You know, in second down of five man,
I can run block you. I can attack you. In
second down and and eleven or second town of fifteen,

(21:49):
I can't. And so all of a sudden, you've become
really super predictable, and now I don't have any weapons
um as a player. You've eliminated my You've taken a
bunch of tools out of my tool belt. And so
being on schedule with something they haven't been and if
this offense is going to get on track, they're gonna
have to find a way to get on schedule, get

(22:09):
on schedule, get on track, and they haven't done that.
So I think that's where most of the disconnector has been.
Well market, somebody's looking for a spark in this game,
no question about that. Raiders and the Broncos. Mark will
be there. Mark. As always, we appreciate your time, enjoy
the game. Thank you, Take care you guys. Mark schla
join us there are Fox NFL analysts once again. Welcome

(22:32):
back into the Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. We are
live from the ti Irack dot Com studios. Let's find
out what's trending right now the house today. Marthy, how
are you Yeah, yeah, hanging out watching all of these
teams score, which always makes it fun. But you guys

(22:53):
missed somebody has missed an extra point? What yes, yes,
y'all missed it because you were talking, so I get it.
But the end is absolutely crazy at met Life Stadium.
It's where the Lions and the Giants are playing right now,
and the extra point was missed. A says because of
the win. It went hard right Cord right, it was awful.

(23:13):
It's like, no, no, no no, he didn't do that on purpose, guys.
That was to win. But it doesn't matter. The Giants
are still beating the line six three. We're about to
end the first quarter, and the Commanders the defense came
out hot with the pick six. They are beating the
Texans seven zero less than six minutes to go in
the first Will it be another Sunday fun day for
Jeff Saturday, That is the question, and right now it

(23:35):
might be because the Colts are beating the Eagles seven
zero less than three minutes to go in the first.
The Rams have scored a touchdown to to at well
sixty two yard catch. They are beating the sat seven
to three less than four minutes to go in the first.
The Bears and the Falcons are tied at seven apiece
one minute to go in that first quarter, and the
Browns are beating the Bill seven three with about thirty

(23:57):
seconds to go in the first. A lot going on, guys,
but that's what we want right back to you, all right, mons, Yeah,
we are just getting started here on a very very
busy Sunday. By the way, Welcome to the Fox Sports

I know we got a lot of catching up to do.
Let's roll some highlights. Snap his back against his four
man rush, good protection SLINKs it to the left corner
of the end zone. Up in the air of the catch,
turn Old Moony for the touchdown. Touchdown Bears sixteen yards

(24:43):
strike from fields to Mooney. W BBM News Radio seven
eight a m and one of five point nine FM
Bears radio network that tied their game with the Falcon seven.
All as we head to the end of the first quarter, there,
keep it coming here, Sam, here they come. Shoot Cooby
back up in the pocket, looking throwing Cooper's open He's
up in the air. Cut it touched out how a

(25:06):
Copper Brown's radio network and Rich in that game that
come to the end of the first quarter, Browns leading
the Bills seven at three, and the Browns have a
first and goal of the Buffalo eight yard line. So
we talked about the traveling nightmare for Buffalo. Some of
those Bills fans are actually shoveling snow at the homes
of the Bills players so they could get to the

(25:29):
airport and take themselves into Detroit. What were they talking
like five six ft of snow in Buffalo. So the
fans are like helping the Bills mafia they call him,
you know, digging out the snow there to actually allow
the Bills players to drive to the airport to fly
to Detroit. And right now, the Bills are in deep
trouble early on in this game. Yeah, yeah, the Browns

(25:50):
have the ball back end driving, and you look at it,
so far on third down Bills over two, Browns two
for three and that's pre much hit, right, How are
you gonna extend drives if you're not converting first downs
and the Browns are and the Bills aren't. The Browns
have seven first first downs total on the day, the
Bills have none. So yeah, like I said, everybody's thinking

(26:14):
about this like, okay, well they're in Detroit, so everything
should be fine now. But no, no no, no, no, Logistically
it was a nightmare leading up to this storm, and
then the storm itself, handling the circumstances of getting out
of Buffalo. I don't know why they didn't leave a
day ahead, and maybe there was something again logistically on
the Detroit side that was preventing them from doing that.

(26:36):
Hotel arrangements, what have you. But it feels like they
should have spent that money and got out of a
dodge a day early instead of gone through this blizzard. Uh,
and then had to, like you said, have fans digging
them out. I heard about the Bills CFO driving from
house to house on the day that they were leaving Buffalo.

(26:56):
The flight was delayed, Well, the flight would have been
delayed anyways because there were players who couldn't get out
of their house. And so she had the Bills chief
financial officer driving off buntwo people's lawns and pulling them
out of their front door and getting them in the
front seat of his suburban. So it's it was just
wild just to get to Detroit. So right now they

(27:16):
trail four excuse me, four points. It's a seven three
ball game, and like I said, Cleveland Browns have the
ball at the end of the first quarter. Yeah, first
and goal of the Buffalo eight yearline. Like can extend
that and laid the Giants can't be stopped. Barking the
right of Jones. Jones takes the staff student body right.
Jones goes in for the touchdown. That's w fan Giants

(27:37):
Radio Network. Giants coming in this game at home against
the Lions with a seven and two record. They have
the sixth three lead, a lot of winners. Monsey said,
the the extra point a tap went sideways. Let's put
it that way. So the Giants lead the Lions by
a score of sixty three, and the Rams got on
the board straight back Stafford launch you deep left at
the twenty. He's got it man too too, stepping through

(28:00):
contact at the five house. Its third possession of the game,
and Stafford over the top to two to well Rams
Radio Network and the Rams are knocking on the door again.
Who actually they got the ball back? Uh? Rams leading
the Saints by a score seven three. Story here Matthew
Stafford back in for the Rams. Cooper Cup is out.

(28:22):
That's it for Cooper Cup. I mean, it's it's been
a disaster. I mean you're talking about a Super Bowl
team that's sitting at three and six, and the only
thing helping him today is I think the Saints are
worse at three and seven. But the question is, is
this just an aberration for the Rams. You can call
it a post Super Bowl hangover, whatever you might want

(28:42):
to call it, or is this a franchise right now?
Rich It's got some big problems facing them, not just
for the balance of this season, for a couple of
years ahead. Well no, not necessarily, because I don't see
the Rams from a skill position standpoint going down the
tubes completely. What I see is uh an injured Cooper
Cup which obviously is a huge, huge problem for the

(29:05):
Rams for this season, uh and also for seasons to come.
They gotta fix this offensive line. But we see, just
like the Cincinnati Bengals, how quickly you can resolve some
issues up front. Now Cincinnati perfect, No, but they're a
winning football team. They're five and four right now, and
a lot of that has to do with the improvements
they made to their offensive line, which was a huge

(29:26):
problem from them last year on a Super Bowl campaign. Um,
and they did it all this offseason. So the Rams
just need to make a priority of either drafting or
adding free agents. Or trading for offensive line help to
make them a better football team, because that's the biggest
problem for them right now is offensively up front, they
can't generate enough yards on the ground to threaten you.

(29:49):
So teams are starting to play shell coverages, keeping all
of those explosive plays in front of them and bending
but not breaking in. The Rams are settling for field
goal where they were scoring in bunches last year. Well,
they made those key acquisitions last year with Odell Beckham Jr.
And Von Miller that turned him from a playoff team
to a Super Bowl champion. They're looking for some kind

(30:11):
of move. It's not it's not a completely lost season,
because you still have the Seahawks sitting in first place
at six and four, and look, I mean, it's been
a great story in Seattle. Geno Smith has just had
an unbelievable season for them. But I don't think a
lot of people look at Seattle as a team that's
gonna run away with that NFC West titled the Browns
have gotten a field goals, So they now lead the

(30:32):
Bills by a score of ten to three. Still no
score right now. Patriots and the Jets we mentioned earlier
this is the only game on right now. We're both
teams came into this game with a winning record. Amazingly,
the Jets are four and oh on the road. This
game is at New England, and out of the box,
Zach Wilson is over three passing zero yards. I know

(30:56):
that Jets defense has been outstanding. Sala has put together.
Jets defense is terrorizing a lot of opposing offenses these days.
But what's going on with Zack Wilson in this Jets offense? Yeah, Look,
Zach Wilson has a lot to learn in this league
and part of it is going to be on third
down UM making decisions, which actually today I I don't

(31:17):
think he's made poor decisions on third down. I think
he's made good decisions. When you're under pressure, don't try
to always create and find the big play down field.
You know, when you're under pressure, don't take the deep
sack as opposed to just throwing the ball away. Uh.
And Zack Wilson is starting to make better decisions like that. UM. Now,
don't get me wrong, at some point you want him

(31:38):
to be able to evolve from this, like where instead
of taking or throwing the football away on a third
down looking for the outlet receiver, understanding where you're hot.
You know, if they're bringing an extra guy from the
right side, well maybe you could pop it out to
your tight end. You're running back, who's not in protection,
who's your outlet pass? Those sort of sort of things
are the maturation of a young quarterback in this league.

(32:01):
He's not quite there yet, but he's starting to see
the field a little bit better from Hey, I'm gonna
survive this down so I can face another and and
limiting those mistakes. If he continues to do that, it
feels like there could be a good progression. The biggest
thing for Zach Wilson though, his health. He's got to
make sure he doesn't take big hits because he's not
a very large human being and he's playing against other

(32:23):
very large human beings. Now they're scoreless game right now.
Panthers and the Ravens battle of Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks.
Baker Mayfield has done nothing even positive for the Panthers
this year, going against Lamar Jackson the Ravens. Ravens come
in on a three game winning streak. They now have
one game lead there. In the a f C North
are the Ravens back. Should we get them back in

(32:45):
the conversation as a contender, Well, did they ever leave?
You know what I mean? I know Danna last year
with the injuries obviously well, but but I was gonna say,
I know, last year they didn't look like the Ravens,
but it was because Lamar Jackson was hurt. Like I mean,
take away the starting quarterback from most of the teams
in the NFL, except for the Dallas Cowboys, who, by

(33:06):
the way, somehow went to Cooper Rush and still kept
the wheels on very nicely in Dak Prescott's stead. But
the majority of teams in the NFL, if you take
away their starting quarterback, they're really gonna struggle. And that's
exactly what happened to the Ravens a year ago. But
not only should the Ravens be considered real, the Ravens
should be in the Super Bowl conversation. I mean, this
is a this is uh an offense that a lot

(33:29):
of people were doubting because you got rid of Marquis
Brown in trade this offseason to the Cardinals, and people
are like, well, who are you gonna get to replace him?
And they said, well, we think we're okay, And as
it turns out, they're okay. That's one of the more
dangerous offenses in the NFL right now, and obviously the
heart and soul of that offense is Lamar Jackson. And

(33:51):
Lamar Jackson is playing like a man possessed because he
wants to prove to the city of Baltimore that he's
their guy. He wants to prove to that franch is
that they made a mistake not paying him in the
off season, because he's gonna get ever more expensive come
this offseason. And so this is a statement year for
Lamar Jackson. It's been a lot of fun to watch,
all right, busy starts to the day in the NFL

(34:12):
eight games going on right now, for all the stats,
for all the news, keep it right here. This is

They have taken a ten seven lead over the rams

(35:16):
On and Andy Dalton to Juan Johnson touchdown pass, So
ten seven Saints, twelve minutes to go there in the
first half. Scoring a little light today. Um. By the way,
you should be well rested here today, Rich, you had
a game on Friday. As the Aztecs continue to roll
right now. Of course, I'm still reeling from u c

(35:37):
l A's lost to USC last night. I don't know
if you got to see any of that game. I mean,
I'm watching this game thinking to myself, is this good
or bad? I mean, in other words, we're seeing fireworks.
Caleb Williams is going to be a star in the
NFL someday DTR you know, ten years as the starting
quarterback U C. L A. He's he's had plenty of experience.

(35:59):
But I mean there was literally no defense. I mean,
I mean we're talking wide receivers that were wide open. Yeah,
I mean. And so when I watch a game like that,
you look at the numbers back and forth. A lot
of scoring, but you gotta have a little defense, right,
I mean, there's got to be a little bit of
resistance for me personally to actually call it a compelling game.

(36:21):
I agree with you. I think that the best games
have a little bit of everything, right, some special teams, intrigue,
you know, maybe a block punt or you know, a
great punt, you know, maybe a return for a touchdown,
or you know, pinning a team deep on coverage units,
or you know, offense obviously scoring in explosive plays, and
creativity from your offensive play call or defense. You know,

(36:45):
maybe some exotic blitz is, maybe some pressure packages, maybe
just straight up winning with your defensive line. A great
game to me, needs to have everything. That game was
not great. That game was high scoring, but it wasn't great. No,
it was. And by the way, the Commander's coming out
their big one on Monday night against the Eagles are
doing it again. Granted it is the one seven and

(37:06):
one Houston Texans, but the Commanders have a fourteen nothing lead. Well,
what did you think about all this news about drinking
on a plane? I was talking to from Salam yesterday.
He was looking sideways. I guess it's a league wide
rule that you can't bring alcohol on the plane, which
is a far cry from what it used to be. Um,
I mean uh, And and the NFL getting down on

(37:29):
the I mean again, my the problem isn't drinking after
the game. The problem is getting drunk and getting in
your car, you know, like the Titans offensive coordinator did that.
That is something you don't do. But this idea that
you can't drink on the plane, and the Commanders came
down on their players. Where where did this come from? Well,

(37:51):
well here for okay. So first of all, where this
came from was Taylor Heineke had a trash can filled
with ice and bush lights on their plane ride home
from their latest victory. And so that's the reason why
the Commander's players were reprimanded. Also, if you think about
all of the news around Washington, the whole football team,

(38:12):
the franchise issues with the owner, like they could use
zero more bad press, right. So you get an impressive
win on the road against the Eagles, and then you
you have this video come out of your players drinking
on the plane, which is a league league wide rule,
and then the follow up to that is having the
Titans offensive coordinator obviously get popped with a d u

(38:35):
I after a big win on the road in Green Bay.
It's just a bad luck. It's a bad look for
all these franchises. It's it's the wrong message, uh, to
you know, younger viewers, and that's the reason why they
don't want it a part of the story. But like
I mean, if we're being honest, um, there were very
few planes in the NFL that I was on during
my time playing that didn't have, you know, a couple

(38:57):
of cold pops or you know, uh, you know, couple
of cocktails being poured out of somebody's you know, travel bag.
It's just it's just a part of it's just a
part of the culture. Yeah, when you've been beating yourself
up like that in a game, having a couple of
beers afterwards sounds pretty normal to me. Let's hear the
Saints taking the lead over the Rams. Looking looking, throws

(39:18):
to the middle, and that is gonna be. That is
gonna be hot. Touchdown w w L, Saints Radio Network.
So the Saints had the ten seven lead over the Rams.
Right now we have a couple of teams knocking on
the door. One will be the Eagles. They are now
facing a fourth and goal at the Indianapolis Colts four
yard lane. They just had a sack. Colts leading this

(39:39):
game seven nothing. Jeff Saturday, without a doubt, the greatest
coach in the history of the NFL. In fact, now
the Eagles have surrendered. They're going to attempt a field
goal right now. Short field goals. So the Eagles surrender
and the field goal is good. So the Colts maintain
their seven to three lead. Keep those highlights come in.

(40:00):
Samuel gets an end or out call, a couple of
blockers hits, the five cuts back to the goal line. Touchdown,
touchdown Washington. A nifty run from Samuel Crop ten yards out.
Big One Commanders Radio Network. So despite all the alcohol,
the Commanders have an interesting and commanding fourteen nothing lead
early in the second quarter on the road against the Texans.

(40:22):
As you can see We have a very very busy
day once again around the NFL. Things getting interesting out

that we'd see a little more offense. We have seen
little offense so far today. It has been a very
light scoring day so far in these eight games around

(41:25):
the NFL. We still have one game that's scoreless of
five minutes ago in the half. That's the Panthers at
the Ravens. The Bills are trailing the Browns ten to three.
They now have a first and ten at the Cleveland
for teen. Again. If he hadn't heard, this game is
being played in Detroit because of the horrific snowstorms there
in Buffalo. They simply deemed that it was not going

(41:47):
to be playable. Josh Allen right now in this game
is four of eight for twenty seven yards. Four of
eighty seven yards indoors. I don't know something's missing, including
Rich all right, we're missing Rich right now. We'll get
him back here in a second and find out Riches.

(42:07):
Uh So, right now, Cleveland leading the Bills by a
score of at ten to three. The Rams trying to
get things going against this New Orleans team. Matthew Stafford
back from injury, but he is also struggling right now,
just three of eight passing seventy one yards. He does
have a touchdown pass in this game. Looking at some

(42:27):
of the other stat totals here for all your fantasy
football players, I wish I had better news for you.
Not a lot of offense being generated, for instance, Bears
and the Falcons justin fields right now, five of eight
fifty six yards and the score Marcus Mario to six
and ten fifty one yards and a score. Getting back
to Josh Allen though, rich Um, we've talked about this

(42:49):
ordeal for the Bills to get themselves into Detroit to
play this game against the Browns, But right now we're
looking at Josh Allen four of nine twenty seven yards.
He took a lot of blame, personal blame for that
latest loss to the Minnesota Vikings. But something's not right
with Josh Allen right now. I mean, this guy has
been on such a role the last two and a

(43:10):
half years. Something seems to have slightly derailed this guy.
What's going on here? Well, okay, I do think that
some of it is Josh Allen's fault. It's not the
whole picture, though, right because when your defense gives up
thirty plus, you know they're obviously he can't play safety.
You know, he can't play corner, he can't play defensive line.

(43:33):
So you know that part of it is. You know,
a week ago we saw a Minnesota team have their
way with the Buffaloes Bill Buffalo Bills defense that has
been really one of the more astoundingly deep and talented,
uh defensive are should say sides of the ball period
in the NFL um So there's that. The other thing
about it, though, where he does need a shoulder, some

(43:55):
of the blame is some of the decision making, especially
where they are right now down in the red zone
against the Browns, like they need to score in those
situations and stop having turnovers. And Josh Allen has been
been trying to create too much. Sometimes it's okay to
settle for three points instead of trying to make, you know,
the tight window throw to get the seven points. And

(44:16):
he's got to make up his mind that he's going
to secure the football down the stretch of the season.
It's going to help this Bill's offense alright. Lions have
taken a ten six lead against the Giants on the road,
Jamal Williams of a touchdown run. The Lions come into
this game on a two game winning streak. Dan Campbell
talked plenty about him struggling through his rookie season's head
coach a year ago. Let's hear that Lions score golf

(44:39):
takes gives to the ball left side, finds a crease
heet down into the end Zone touchdown Detroit Lions w
x y T FM ninety one The Ticket Lions Radio Network,
I guess when I'm looking at this Lions team. And
of course we got the chance to see him in
hard Knocks before the season began, and you got to
sort of love the whole Campbell's a experience over there.

(45:01):
But the one thing about losing a lot of games,
it's so easy to lose a team, especially when you're
a head coach with no track record, like you haven't
done anything. You come in first time head coach. Here,
Ago doesn't play out very well, get off to a
rough start. This Lion's team has stayed focused and now

(45:22):
they're getting a few breaks going their way. Uh and
maybe a third straight win. This will be obviously a
huge one on the road against the seven and two
Giants team. Yeah, and and look there two and one
in division you know what I mean? These past two
wins were against divisional opponents. And oh, by the way,
you know, Justin Fields has finally figured out football at

(45:44):
the NFL level. And so whereas before you would say, well,
beating the Browns by a point or excuse me, the
Bears by a point, um, isn't that impressive because it's
the Bears. It's like whoa, whoa, These aren't your father's Bears.
These Bears are different looking Bears. Justin Fields has been
an offense of machine lately, and he was in that
game too. Admittedly, the Detroit Lions, I'm sure if you

(46:05):
talk to Dan Campbell, one of their biggest problems is
they stop nobody. Um. They they get scored on at
will um, but offensively usually they can hang and when
they do, they have success. And look I am I
am I going to start writing letters home because the
Lions have won three games, you know, through through nine. No,

(46:28):
but do the Lions look one of like one of
those second half teams, you know, starting to put together
some wins that I wouldn't want to run to run
into if I were on a you know, on their
second half schedule. Answer is, yeah, the Lions kinda scare
me right now from that standpoint. So, yeah, they're still
playing motivated football. Yeah. Another team that came in with
just three wins are the Bears. But we've been talking

(46:50):
plenty of about Justin Fields over the last month or
so that it appears they have now figured out how
to best use Justin Fields and his unique skill set.
Right now, the Bears have a ten seven lead on
the Falcons, and they have a first and goal, first
and one right now at the six yard line, first

(47:10):
and one anyway bentally there. So the Bears are knocking
on the door trying to extend their lead in Atlanta.
It's it's always fun to watch the development, especially of
young quarterbacks, because you're never sure. Um Usually it takes
three years to be fair to any quarterback. If you
really haven't shown any three three years into your career,

(47:32):
even as a top pick, most likely it's not it's
not a percent. I mean, I'll give an example old
school of Dan Fouts, who really showed nothing until a
guy named Don Corriel showed up in San Diego and
devise an offense that ended up putting Dan Fouts in
the Hall of Fame. But it's usually in the first
couple of years, three years in where you say either

(47:54):
this guy's got it or he doesn't have it. And
with Justin Fields in year two, years started off slow
for him again and you're just thinking, as this guy
ever gonna get it right? But something clicked and right
now they have despite the three and seven record a
future quarterback. It looks like in Justin Fields. No, I

(48:14):
completely agree with you. Something clicked and it was around
oh man, I you know, I don't want to say
too early, but we started seeing signs of it, like
around game four, game five, like there were some indications
even in losses to the Giants in the Minnesota Vikings,
that that he was starting to figure it out a

(48:34):
little bit. It wasn't great, it wasn't perfect, not by
long shot, but they were starting to really mix in
the run game and he was having success with that.
He was, you know, in those games obviously through no interceptions.
But it's really been the last three games against Dallas
against or or excuse me, the last three games against
um yeah, no, against Dallas, against Miami, against Detroit where

(48:58):
he's really seemed to start putting together some better results. Now, look,
the Bears, they need to complete the team around him,
They need to build around Justin Fields if that is
in fact what they plan on doing while he's still
cheap on that rookie contract. But the Bears, I mean
that that could be a team that really have found
something in terms of their future at quarterback, and if

(49:20):
they trust it and they build around it. They could
have some success here towards the end of this year
and then into all right the Jets and Patriots of
swap field goals three three. This is pretty much the story.
Like I'm looking at Sam right now, He's sitting on nothing,
like he has no highlights. It has been a dog

(49:42):
morning so far in terms of offense around the National
Football League. I am watching the Bills and Browns game
right now. The Browns are on the move again. You know,
it looks great. Today we talked about how Josh Allen
has struggled. Jecobie Brissette is thirteen of sixteen in this
game already and throwing the ball beautifully. Also got a
couple of scrambles at a twenty t yard run. Earlier

(50:03):
in the game. Nick chub is just nine carries for
twelve yards. He had. The Browns have the ball and
the lead ten to six. And we are counting down
to the return of Deshaun Watson. We are we are
a couple of weeks away. He is due to come back.
Am I Right? On that road game against the Texans
on December fourth, the stat is that still a go

(50:26):
are we Deshaun Watson's gonna be back for that game,
and and you throw him right in as a starter.
Have you not played in two years? Yeah, you throw
him right in, and you're paying him enough money. I
mean you know what are you gonna do? Yeah, I
mean you're gonna keep two hundred forty million dollars guaranteed
on the bench. Not me. Um, not during a three

(50:46):
and six Brown season. I mean, even if they win
to there there four and six, still behind the eight ball,
especially in their division. No. Yeah, you put the Shawn
Watson on the field as soon as he's available, and
you start, um, you start making good or he starts
making good on the amount of money you paid him. Now,
this isn't gonna come without controversy because right there, all

(51:06):
we're talking about, obviously, is the game play. He also
has the number of alleged sexual assault settlements from the
civil cases that were brought against him. Um, he has
a couple still active. I mean, this story isn't without controversy.
And I'm sure that drumbeats gonna get louder this week

(51:28):
leading up to his debut against the Houston Texans. But
to your point, Steve, I'm expecting to see a fair
amount of rust. I mean, he hasn't been able to
practice with this team until this past week. Uh, he
hasn't played an NFL game in over two seasons. So
I don't know what to expect from Deshaun Watson. Um.
I'm not saying it's gonna be light years ahead of

(51:50):
what we've seen with Jacobe Bursett. But you know, just
from a football standpoint, does he play? Should he play?
If you're head coach, you know, Kevin Stefanski, or if
you're the owner, Yeah, you're gonna put him in immediately.
All right. We were talking about justin fields, and he
just ran in a touchdown. So the Bears extend their
lead to the Falcon seventeen to seven. This game is

(52:10):
in Atlanta fields. His throwing a touchdown pass run for
a score, and it looks like a young quarterback with
a whole lot of confidence. All Right. It has been
a less than scintillating of first half run on these games,
to say the least. We will hope for much better
on the other side. Keep it right here. This is
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio,

Port Errol Patterson out of the ins. He'll hit the five.
Here goes CEP thirty five. Forty Patterson on his way thirty.
He's got the twenty ten five touchsdown at Lanta. Holy

(53:46):
smokes nine the game Falcons Radio Network. I didn't even
know Cardero Patterson was still returning kicks. I thought that
he for years, obviously a Pro Bowl return guy, turned
number one running back for Atlanta. But when you got
a weapon like that, man, you gotta say, hey, Cordarrell,
need you on that kickoff a hundred and three yards

(54:07):
for a touchdown there getting the Falcons back in this game. Yeah,
Cordarrel Patterson is a score from anywhere on the field
type of player. Uh. He is an astoundingly fast running back.
He's uh, he's a four four guy, uh in terms
of forty time. But also across the ball from him,
or I should say across the field from him, is

(54:28):
Justin Fields, who is also like a four or four
two four or four for you know, forty guy like
he is electric. I don't think we're really paying enough
attention to Justin Fields as a score from anywhere on
the field type quarterback. But he's officially in that conversation,
you know, I, I look, does he have the best
arm in the NFL? No, but neither does Lamar Jackson.

(54:49):
And we give him that distinction because he's had these
long rushes, these long runs, or these scrambles that he's
turned into touchdowns from sixty yards out. Well, guess what
Justin Field has morphed into that over the past three
or four games that he's played in. Now, I think
he's the most electure quarterback in the NFL today. All Right,
the Rams have retaken the leave right before the half

(55:10):
against the Saints. A second touchdown past Matthew Stafford, this
one to Allen Robinson. Stafford returning from injury today looks good.
Eleven and sevent d fifty nine yards, two touchdowns, no picks,
pass the radio one thirty four, so the Rams have
a fourteen and ten lean. Meanwhile, it's halftime and the Eagles,
coming off that disappointing Monday night loss to the Candors,

(55:34):
are trailing at halftime to the Colts ten to three. Suddenly,
the Eagles offense has evaporated and Jeff Saturday looks like
a genius right now is a head coach. He is
absolutely unbeatable. Big story here for the Colts has been
the running game. Jonathan Taylor finally unleashed Levin carry sixty
four yards and a touchdown in the first half. But

(55:57):
a lot of people expected the Eagles to mounce back.
You know, you're going against the cold's team with Jeff
Saturday as they head coach. Yeah, they gotta win last week,
but it was against the Raiders that really count. Everyone
expected the Eagles with a big bounce back, big chip
on their shoulders short week. Didn't show up in the
first half. Rich. Yeah, Well, here's what I'll say. I
wouldn't blame it really on their offense. Their offense is

(56:18):
fine today. You know they've They've generated actually more yards
than the Colts offense has, but they've been stymied in
the red zone. And that can happen because you need
to score, especially when you're on the road in this league,
when you get the ball inside the twenty. And they're
also committing too many penalties. They have five penalties for
forty yards on the day so far, they're on pace

(56:39):
to finish with ten for the game. That's really undisciplined
after coming off of a game where you turn the
ball over to the commanders four times, and that was
the biggest part of the reason why they lost to Washington.
So I think the Eagles over the past game and
a half now, a lot of these wounds are self inflicted.
And if I'm Nick Sirianni at halftime, I'm telling these
guys at I'm telling them, Look, we're a better team

(57:02):
than the Indianapolis Colts, There's no question about it. We
have to stop hurting ourselves otherwise we're gonna lose another one. Alright,
Another team looking good today, the Detroit Lions, and they
have just scored again. So the Lions another Jamal Williams
touchdown extend their lead on the road against the Giants
to sixteen to six. So this was a little unexpected.

(57:23):
Giants coming in, of course seven and two. But the Lions,
have you been paying attention we mentioned earlier, came in
on a two game winning street. They feel like they
got a few things going their way, and so far
it is all lines in the first half. Sixteen is
six waiting on the extra point. Let's get back to that.
Rams score first and goal from the seven Stafford tall

(57:44):
go line caught by a rob for the go ahead
touchdown Stafford to Allen Robinson deep in the first half.
The Rams are on the hot side RAMS Radio network
there at the half. Now Rams lead the Saints by
a score of fourteen to ten. Meanwhile, the Bills, still
trailing the Browns ten to six, have a second and

(58:05):
goal at the five yard line of Cleveland. We got
twenty three seconds left in the half, so the Bills
trying to get in the end zone. A couple of
field goals. That's been in. Josh Allen just eight of
fifteen seventy nine yards passing, that's all. He has just
eight yards rushing on the ground. So the Bills, with
all the ordeal of leaving Buffalo digging out of their homes,

(58:27):
getting to the airport, finding their way into Detroit. Uh,
trying to take the lead here, although they've been outplayed
by this Browns team so far in the first half. Yeah. Yeah,
there's there's no doubt about it. Look at the scoreboard, right, Um.
I think when it comes to the Bills, they've got
to get in at halftime. You know, they got obviously

(58:47):
to score here. But if they get in a halftime
and they look at each other, whether they're leading or
trailing here, they have to make a decision to put
whatever transpired, we have a touchdown the Bills I have scored.
Uh as Diggs gets the pass there from Josh Allen.
So Stefan Diggs right there. He uh he gets into
the end zone. By the way, that is his first

(59:09):
touched past reception of the game. Yeah. Yeah, they they
found obviously single Singletarry and Hynds. Um. Who else did
they find today? Yeah, it's Davis has a couple of catches,
but that is Stefan Diggs first catch of the day.
It's Dawson Knox has been more involved. Yeah, I mean

(59:29):
it's only that's only the fourth receiver that Josh Allen
has found this half. So yeah, there's there's definitely a
different look to this this Bill's team, and I can't
quite put my finger on it might might be a
little gunshot in terms of throwing the football. Um, but
but either way, that's that's exactly what you need. You
want to get better in a hurry, score some touchdowns

(59:51):
while you're down there in the red zone, especially before half,
and that makes you feel a lot better about touting
a lead as opposed to you know, potentially uh ten
nine disparity or worse. Alright, So despite being outplayed for
most of this half by the Browns, it's the Bills
leading that game by a score of thirteen to ten.

(01:00:11):
Worst game of the day so far. Wait, it's tough,
but we're at the half right now. How about the
Ravens leading and the Panthers three to nothing? Uh total
yards for the Carolina Panthers in the first half sixty
yeah total yards? Uh? Foreman has sixteen yards rushing on
seven carries, Baker Mayfield eight to ten, forty six yards passed. Right. Yeah, Look,

(01:00:35):
I mean when when they replaced p J. Walker with
Baker Mayfield, and the conversation was, as well, can Baker
save their season. I was like, are we seriously having
this conversation? Um, Obviously the Carolina Panthers have waived the
white flag on the year, and I think what we're
seeing is we're seeing a team deciding which quarterback they're
gonna keep to be the backup to Groom whoever they

(01:00:57):
go up in draft in the first round this up
coming spring. Um. So, I I think this is either
Baker Mayfield's last chance to maybe get on a team's
radar and trade or or or to sign this offseason,
um and and maybe get a second chance. It's starting
for or a third chance, it's starting for a third franchise,

(01:01:18):
or it's just a dress rehearsal to see whether or
not Carolina wants him on the roster come next season. Well,
and remember they draft him at Corral, but he got hurt,
so we never even got to see him play. And
I don't know if he is a quarterback they project
in their future plans. Uh. The Commanders added a field goal,
so complete domination by the Commanders in the first half,
where at halftime Commanders lead in the Texans might score

(01:01:41):
twenty and nothing. Taylor Heineke, the man that brings all
the booze onto the plane. Playing well today, sixty four yards,
no touchdowns, no picks, but this has been annihilation. Are
you ready for some halftime stats on the Houston Texans. Yeah, alright.
First downs commanders fourteen Texans one. Total yards commanders two

(01:02:04):
six Texans five. They have five total yards at halftime.
Let me do the math. They're projected on ten total yards.
There you go, so five they have negative one net
passing yards in the first half. I don't even know
what to say about what you just said. Uh so

(01:02:27):
here's what I will say. Um, if if they are
going to be able to even make this a ballgame,
they need to protect Davis Mills better in the second half.
He needs obviously make smarter decisions with the football. But there,
let's face it, there's no saving Houston. We knew what
this year was gonna be. Um from out the gate.
It just sort of feels like Houston where they were

(01:02:49):
with Billy O'Brien and Deshaun Watson for a couple of
years there. I mean, they were threatening to be one
of those teams out of the a f C that
you needed to involve in the Super Bowl conversation. And
it has in a complete spiral out of control. And
I don't know if this is rock bottom, but this
looks like as close to rock bottom as it possibly
could be for an NFL franchise. One half, one first down,

(01:03:11):
five total yards. That's as bad as it gets. The
Lions are looking good though. Golf takes hands to Jamal
fighting off tacklers diving. Did he get in? Yes, sir,
he did. Touchdown Detroit Lions and a big spike for
the left hand from Jamal Williams his second rushing touchdown
of the day, and the Lions extend their lead. W

(01:03:31):
x y T FM on the Ticket Lions Radio Network.
Lions dominating on the road against the Giants lead that
game by a score of seventeen to six. Let's find
out what's trending right now. She wants to jump right
back in. She's ready to roll. Pretty light scoring day
so far. Yeah, no, no, You know how I know

(01:03:52):
that my fantasy teams aren't doing well because I haven't
had any notifications. That's all I know. That is not
a good sign. I've had one digs is touchdown. That's
the one notification I've had, So I'm not even gonna look.
I don't need to look. I know I'm doing terribly.
You know what, maybe maybe a lot of your a
lot of your players are playing in the evening and
late afternoon. James, I wish I wish I had mail.

(01:04:16):
I wish I had some notifications, but nothing. I was like,
oh that's not good. Oh well, okay. As Zach Wilson
just got real lucky. They almost intercepted him and they
didn't ntil they got lucky. The Jets and the Patriots
forty five seconds before they head into halftime and are
tied at three apiece. The Bears are about to also
head into half time with the Falcons are still beating
them seventeen fourteen. Justin Fields has a touchdown in the air,

(01:04:40):
had to touchdown on the ground, seventy three yards on
the ground. He's trying to do a little bit of
it all. The Bills finally got a touchdown yea, and
they are beating the Browns thirteen to ten at halftime.
The Colts are up on the Eagles. They're about to
start the third quarters. So we'll see if it will
be a Sunday Funday for Jeff Saturday. Ten three is
the score. The Rams are beating this Aids fourteen ten

(01:05:00):
at halftime. Matthew Stafford has completed eleven of seventeen passes
for a hundred and fifty nine yards and two touchdowns.
Without Cooper Cup who was injured and they said four
to six weeks he's gonna be out. The Lions are
beating the Giants seventeen to six, six seconds to go
into halftime. The Panthers and the Ravens boring Ravens are
up three zero at halftime and the Commanders just all

(01:05:23):
over the Texans. Twenties zero is the score at halftime.
A little World Cup news. We kicked off the World
Cup today, the opening match officially in the books at
Gual beat Qutar to zero. There is a video of
the fans at this game chanting that means we want beer.
That's what they were chanting, because abruptly two days ago

(01:05:44):
Guitar Band the sale of beer at the stadiums at
the eight World Cup stadiums. Well, there is an update
to that. Bud Wiser tweeted a photo of all of
the beer that they have and they were like, well,
I guess we're gonna repurpose this. Don't worry, all of
this will go to the winning country. So whoever wins
the World Cup will get the massive amount of beer

(01:06:08):
that Budweiser was supposed to sell. So uh and and
they're saying it's gonna be a party. Of course, of
course they gotta send it somewhere. You gotta pick the
right country. Listen, Costa Rica. We'd like to drink beer
like even when we're too young. So send it to
Costa Rica. Guys, it'll be you trust me back to you, guys.

(01:06:28):
It rings to mind this. Uh mine, see, thank you
very much. Checking you a little bit later on, what
is the most beer rich that you ever drank in
one city? Would you say? Oh? Man, yeah, um, in
my playing days, I can put them away. You know what,
do put him away? You got to give me a number.
I Well, we one time we had a bye week

(01:06:50):
and so we went out and we were just watching
Monday night football and you know, you're sitting down and
it's happy hour prices, and you know, you're with a
couple of your buddies, probably a four hour sit, five
hours sit at this bar. And by the end I'm
I'm sitting there with my wife and I didn't really
honestly feel all that you know, inebriated. I was just
kind of just enjoying the day. And we get the

(01:07:11):
tab and it said that I had twenty four pints.
That Now, this is at some point no, yeah, I
mean plenty of time. Mean yeah, you know, plenty of times.
But there there was there was this point where I'm like,
oh my gosh. And then I like looked at and
I was like, how many of these were yours? She

(01:07:31):
was like, no, those were all yours. Look Indians and
Indians and yeah, yeah yeah. So that's when you kind
of know it's like, all right, well maybe maybe I
am a human trash. Can you know? Unbelievable. I'll tell
you what it's also unbelievable right now is the Colts. Uh,
they have picked up where they left off in the
first half. Colts went into halftime with a ten to

(01:07:53):
three lead against the Eagles. Now on their opening drive
of the second half, the Colts have it in the
red zone of the Eagles. So this this Cold's team.
I I don't know what Jeff Saturday is trying to
sell them. And again, it was hard to put any
stock in their victory against the Raiders last week because
everyone's beating the Raiders, but they look good. The Eagles don't.

(01:08:17):
And the Eagles look like a team. However, Um well,
we'll see how this plays out. But I mean, people,
people forget when you're on a short week like the
Eagles are and then you have to hit the road.
That's not easy. It's not easy following a Monday home
game with a Sunday road game, and the Eagles just

(01:08:39):
seem a little out of sorts today. I I agree
with you. I I think I think the Eagles responded
to the mounting pressure of a perfect season by starting
to play some of the worst football that they've played
this here. Also, I mean, keep in mind, Jordan Davis
was such a big part of what was special about
the Eagles over the course of his time. Um uh,

(01:09:03):
you know up front, and I mean it's it's that
they ran into a huge problem against the Commanders a
week ago, and that that really factored in that game.
How the Washington Commanders were able to control the ground
game against Philadelphia. But then they take the show on
the road and it's still more self inflicted problems. You know,
the turnovers in the game against Commanders where the story

(01:09:25):
of the game. The penalties during this game against the
Eagles are the story so far in this one? And oh,
by the way, on the other side, you know, I
don't want to talk about the Eagles as much as
I want to talk about what's happening with the Colts.
I mean, Jim Urcey is the whole reason why the
Cults were struggling. So Jim Ursay blamed the offensive coordinator,
forcing Frank Wreich to fire him, and then he blamed

(01:09:46):
Matt Ryan is starting quarterback and forced Frank Rereich to
bench him. And then he blamed Frank Rereich after the
next loss and fired him. And then he hires Jeff
Saturday as an interim coach after only consulting with the
team from outside, and then a I was Jeff Saturday
to reinstate Matt Ryan as the quarterback, and then they
go on to have some success these past two games.

(01:10:07):
It's just bizarre to me. So hopefully he stays out
of the way, because I don't know if it's necessarily
Jeff Saturday, who's all of a sudden, this magical licksir
that's fixing what was ailing the Colts. What it really
looks like to me is this is a team that's
now unencumbered by decision making from ownership and they're having
success as a result. All right, let's hear the Bill's

(01:10:28):
latest score. The snap Josh wants to throw, scans the
end zone, fires, don't got a man right up, and
it's caught. Touchdown, Buffalo touchdown Bill if they take the lead.
W g R five fifty Bills Radio Network. So despite
be an outplayed in the first half by the Browns,
it's the Bills, lady at the half by score of
thirteen to ten. And again Josh Allen just eighty four

(01:10:50):
yards passing. He did have that touchdown pass there to Digs.
Not a lot going on the ground for the Bills.
So I'll see if we'll see a different Bills maybe
wake up call for them. One game that's been pretty entertaining, though,
is at the half all tied the Bears and the
Falcons seventeen. All we've talked about justin fields in this game,
seventy one yards passing and a touchdown. He actually has

(01:11:12):
more yards rushing seventy three yards on the ground and
a touchdown. Score Mariota eighty yards and a touchdown there,
so you know you're you're at and You've been on
teams like this where you're midway through the season and
the playoffs aren't likely, but you have a lot of

(01:11:34):
season left and you're still trying to figure out you know,
maybe we can get on a little role. You know,
there's there's not a whole lot of difference between a
team that's ten and seven and seven and ten. A
couple of bounces here and there. Look at the Raiders
a year ago, right, look at the Steelers a year ago.
Somehow they were able to sneak into the playoffs. But
when we talk about dog days, we always talk about

(01:11:56):
in baseball, right, the dog days of summer, endless season,
dog days mid season in the NFL, where you suddenly
get to week ten, eleven, twelve, you're not exactly at
the finish line, but you know you just sort of like, wow,
another game. Yeah, Look no further than the Houston Texans,
you know, I mean, a team that's just completely out

(01:12:17):
of it, where you got to find the motivation to
show up every day and work at it. I mean,
maybe you don't have a lot of faith in your
coaching staff. Maybe you've played at other places, other stops
before you made your way to Houston and you realize, Wow,
this team, you know, from an institutional standpoint, is a
complete failure. It's nothing that we as players can do

(01:12:38):
to help revive this. Um. You know, the Chicago Bears
felt like one of those teams until the recent turnaround
with Justin Fields. UM. But really outside of the Texans,
if you look around the league, I mean, the Las
Vegas Raiders, it feels to me like that's a team
that if they can start putting the pieces together and
win some close games, that their season isn't over yet.

(01:12:58):
Jacksonville Jaguars another team with only three wins on the year.
They've got a lot to look forward to with Trevor
Lawrence and hoping to make that start to work as
an offensive pairing. UM. The New Orleans Saints, to me,
it feels like the biggest story there is who's gonna
be the quarterback who's left on this roster? Similar how
we're talking about Baker Mayfield and company when the Saints

(01:13:20):
move on from this season. Jamis Winston spoke out and
said that he was unhappy with the decision to get
bench due to injury. UM. So yeah, I mean, there's
really only one team in the in the NFL this season.
Who truly feels like they're completely one out of it
and that's the Houston Texans. And those are long days,
my friend. All Right, we're coming out a halftimes right now,

(01:13:41):
the eight games around the NFL for all the latest.
Keep a ride here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Saints retake the lead over the Rams seventeen fourteen, twenty
three to go in the third quarter. Welcome back into
the Fox Sports the Red Zone Radio studios. Here the

(01:14:31):
tire Ac dot Com studios. All right, we're picking up
a little bit here. Scoring has been light around the
uh NFL, to say the least so far. Today. The
Colts ended up with a field goal, so they extend
their lead thirteen of three over the Eagles. Jalen Hurts
the numbers aren't terrible, uh fifty four yards, eight rushes,

(01:14:55):
thirty seven yards. The problem is zero touchdowns. Nothing zero touchdowns.
Uh for the Eagles. Matt Ryan twelve of sixteen just
eighty five yards. But Jonathan Taylor is getting done on
the ground sixty five yards and a score. So the
Eagles still looking for answers right now inside nine minutes
to go in the third quarter, trailing the Colts thirteen

(01:15:16):
to three. Yeah. Yeah, it's pretty amazing what's going on
with the Eagles. They just went for it on fourth
and ten, by the way, I mean, like, I don't
I look the drips of desperation when you do that.
It's it's a it's a little it's a little bit
unnerving watching the Philadelphia Eagles. If if they if they

(01:15:37):
drop on this O two skid after winning eighth straight,
they have nobody to blame except for themselves. I really
do feel like this is a team that's self destructing
right now. I mean, they were at the Indianapolis thirty
nine when they decided to go for this fourth and ten,
but they lost six yards on the play as Jalen
Hurts was sacked. I mean, it's it's just to me,

(01:15:59):
it's self inflicted wounds. I I I can't say it enough.
This team is beating themselves nobody's beating the Eagles. The
Eagles are beating themselves. Well, this is what we've been
talking about, you know, how for real are these teams?
The Giants come in today at home against the Lions
seven and two, losing seventeen to six. UM. The Jets

(01:16:20):
are tied at half three three with the Patriots. Let's
face it, for the Jets, Brace Hall was a fine,
but he's out for the year. And without Breece Hall,
they just don't have a running game. If they don't
have a running game, it's gonna make Exact Wilson really
challenged as a quarterback. They have no balance in their
offense right now. They have no offense. They're totally depending
on their defense right now. But we are getting that point.

(01:16:43):
And you know when we were talking at very top
of the show today about this game later on between
the Cowboys and the Vikings. So when you look at
the Vikings, when you look at the Eagles, when you
look at the Giants, the Jets, teams that were not
expected to have the kind of records they have so far,
we're sorry at the moment of truth right now, right
I mean, we're finally gonna see are these teams as

(01:17:07):
good as they have looked. Is it a mirage? Can
we pick one of these teams out as a prime
contender to make a run to the Super Bowl or
is this just fantasy? And right now today we're beginning
to see with some of these teams the challenges of
trying to maintain a winning streak during the course of
an NFL season. Yeah, look at you know, we're just

(01:17:29):
talking about the Eagles and other NFC e's team. The
Giants seven in two right now, four and one at home,
are trailing to the Detroit Lions. Seventeen six lines have
the football again, you know, so you start thinking to yourself, like,
all right, well, are the Giants real because the Detroit
Lions aren't very good? Or are they? I you know,
it's so tough to say with Dan Campbell's group over there,

(01:17:51):
because they don't usually get or I should say, they
haven't really played great defense. They haven't. They haven't. They've
been in a lot of shootouts to see in But
could they possibly be entering the turnaround portion of his
regime with the Detroit Lions. It's this is the time
of year when we find out a lot about teams.

(01:18:12):
I guess is what I'm trying to say. If the
New York Giants are going to be a playoff team,
a playoff contender, they need to prove it in the
month of November. And Brian Dable, their head coach, who
was formerly with the Buffalo Bills, knows that. Um. You know,
if you look at Robert Sala, he's coming from a
team where he's had a tremendous amount of success. Also
the San Francisco forty Niners. If the Jets are going
to be considered a real team, they need to win

(01:18:34):
on the road in New England against a Patriots team
that struggled this season if they want to be taken seriously,
and right now, that's a dog fight the Jets are in.
And the same could be said about the Eagles. You
cannot self destruct in the month of November and except
expect to be taken seriously as a real contender. Hey,

so they extend their lead over the Brown sixteen to
ten right now. Inside ten minutes ago in the third quarter, meanwhile,

(01:19:18):
talked about the Giants and the Lions. Will guess what.
The Lions leading seventeen and six have a first and
goal at the Giants five yard line. So this game
has been Lions dominated, which is a little bit surprising
to a lot of people. But this Lion team coming
in on a winning streak, looking to make it three
in a row. They are in control right now. Also,

(01:19:40):
the Panthers, trailing the Ravens three to nothing at the half,
have a third and thirteen in the red zone of
the Ravens. Where's the Ravens offense today? Uh? You know,
we have a Panther's team winless on the road this year.
They have no offense, offenses generated less than a hundred
total yards. But the Ravens haven't gotten the end zone yet. Yeah.

(01:20:02):
The Carolina Panthers, I mean, not a lot of positive
you could say about them so far this season. But
if there is one thing at times that rears its
head is a pretty talented defense and so you know,
I'm not saying that a full excuse for the Baltimore Ravens.
Here this uh, this this morning or afternoon, depending on
where you're watching, but this, uh, this Carolina Panthers team

(01:20:25):
has the the talent to slow you down offensively. The
Ravens better wake up, though, there's no question about it.
They better wake up because again we're talking about the
month in November with teams on the bubble. If the
Ravens want to be taken seriously as a division leader
or a lock for the playoffs, they need to get
this win all right. By the way, the Texans five
total yards in the first half. They got a field

(01:20:46):
goal in the second half. Right now, Commanders still lead
this game by a score of three, well into the
second half of eight games around the NFL. Previews coming

see you later five Chris with the touchdown. That's how
you go from second and twenty three to a touchdown.
That is w w L Saints Radio Network. Saints pulling

(01:21:32):
away from the Rams leading to fourteen, and it's even
more bad news for the Rams as Matthew Stafford has
gone to the locker room with an injury. Will update
to their any Dalton is just carving up the Rams.
Sixteen of nineteen two or twenty two yards, three touchdowns,
no picks. That is a near perfect passer rating. So

(01:21:55):
you think things can't get any worse for the Rams,
It's getting worse for the MS right now. The defending
Super Bowl champions coming into three and six at the
bottom of the NFC West, and they're losing by ten
right now to a three and seven Saints team. Once again,
we're broadcasting live from the ti irack dot com studios.
Tirack dot com will help get you there, and I'm

(01:22:16):
at selection fast free shipping, Free road has some protection
over ten thousand recommended installers. Ti irack dot com the
way tire buying should be and as I watch all
the misfortune be following the Rams this year. I think
about all the good fortune they had a year ago,
the mid season pickups a Beckham and Miller that had
major impact on the team, the way the playoffs all

(01:22:37):
played out. Remember they were the four seed. They pulled
the upset in Tampa, figuring their heading to Green Bay.
But the forty Niners beat the Packers in Green Bay.
Suddenly the Rants are hosting the NC championship game. Then
they figured, all right, now you're gonna have to play
the Chiefs. The Chiefs go brain dead in the second
half at home against the Bengals. So suddenly get a
home game against the Bengals and the Super Bowl and

(01:22:59):
your crowns Super Bowl champions. Now the football God say
we give and now we take away. And it is
absolutely a spiral out of control for this Rams team
right now. Well, I mean, look no further than the
fact that their their defense is struggling because their offense
isn't complimenting them at all. I mean, if you look

(01:23:20):
at the woes for the Rams so far, it's mainly
been the fact that they can't stay on the field.
Against the Saints, there are two of eight uh in
third down situations today, So their drives are stalling out
and the Saints as a result, they are playing good
ball control offense, going on these long drives and they're
scoring in bunches. And that was a similar story to

(01:23:42):
um what happened against the San Francisco forty Niners recently
when they visited the Los Angeles Rams. Uh. I think
that was two or three games ago, a thirty one
fourteen UH beat down that the forty Niners handed the Rams.
And it's just difficult if you're even a talented defense
with you know, the lie of an Aaron don Load
up front of Jalen Ramsey, it doesn't matter who you have.

(01:24:03):
If you're spending way too much time on the field,
like the Rams defense is, eventually you're gonna break. And
that's what we're starting to see through the past three
or four games. Alright, the the Colts leading the Eagles
thirteen to three, and the Colts are moving again, and
I'm just watching Matt Ryan's demeanor out there. You know,
Matt Ryan was just a turnover machine for Frank Reich,

(01:24:26):
which led to Frank rights firing as the coach of
the Colts. Suddenly we're seeing, I don't know a little
skipping the step for Matt Ryan. He looks like, you know,
he's a guy in control. He's got a little offense going.
They're not putting up huge yards sixty four yards, but
they are moving the ball offensively and right now in
control up on the Eagles thirteen to three. So this

(01:24:49):
whole Jeff Saturday deal that was just absolutely lambasted around
the NFL. What Ursay did is basically move around all
and by the way, legally, he could do it by
the rules of the NFL because it's an interim coach.
In other words, you don't have the Rooney role. None
of that is applicable in terms of hiring an interim coach.
He can throw anybody in there. But if this continues

(01:25:12):
to on the on the right path, I mean, is
is this a possibility the Jeff Saturday, who obviously was
a great player for the Colts, I mean, the guy
has a lot of history of the organization, never been
a coach at any level. But if it's working, could
he keep this job. Absolutely, they wouldn't have hired him
unless they were interested in having him as the head

(01:25:34):
coach of the future. I mean, of course, of course
it's a possibility. Is it likely. I'll still say no,
he's only coach now a game and a half, and
this Colt team wasn't very wasn't operating very well before
he took over. But if he does quote unquote saved
the season and the Colts put together anything resembling a
winning record, yes he's going to be in strong consideration

(01:25:56):
to be named the head coach moving forward. Because again,
that's the only reason why you make you make a
hiring like that mid season if you're Jim Ursy. He
made no bones about it. He wanted Jeff Saturday on
the staff. He wanted him to coach the offensive line.
He asked him twice back in twenty and then again
uh in twenty one, I believe, he said, and Jeff

(01:26:17):
turned them down twice. And I guess Jim Ursey said
to himself, well, shoot, if I really want him to
be a part of this franchise and not just as
a consultant, and he keeps turning down position jobs, I
don't necessarily want him calling my offense, but I want
his leadership. I'm just gonna hire him as my head coach.
And so he moves on from Frank Reich and he
brings him in. And like you said, it's controversial because

(01:26:40):
maybe he found a loophole in the Rooney rule. But
it's also controversial to coaches who feel like, well, I've
been waiting patiently in line for an opportunity, and all
of a sudden, this former player who's only coached at
the high school level leap frogs me. Is that fair? No,
but life's not fair. If he turns out to be
a good leader. If he turns out to be uh,

(01:27:00):
somebody who can assemble a staff and and and encourage
confidence with his with his players, well then you know,
in some ways, then he earns the opportunity to be
the head coach next season. Bryce Perkins is in a
quarterback now for the Rams as they try to get
back in. This game against the Steen is a score.

(01:27:20):
We still don't have an update on the injury to
Matthew Stafford. I'm watching this Rams team and they are
an angry team right now, and suddenly their offense is moving. Uh.
Karen Williams there had a big Ruyn cam Akers had
a run. They're starting to eat up yards on the ground.
But you can see the frustration building with this Rams team,

(01:27:42):
Like what the f is going on with us. We
are the Super Bowl champions. We cannot be playing this bad.
But right now in this drive, uh, they are moving
the ball down the field down to the twenty yard line.
So maybe the Rams can get back in this one.
But it's it's it's been like a wake up call
for a team, like having to remind them Dells that
a year ago they were fitting themselves with a huge

(01:28:03):
Super Bowl ring. Let's hear Buffalo's latest. Oh okay, Buffalo
just scored all right, So the Bills now I've extended
their lead over the Brands. Remember early on the Browns
were in control of this game. No longer. Now the
Bills are up twenty two to ten. We're waiting on
the extra point. Suddenly things are right for Buffalo. But yeah,
the Rams is trying to remind themselves we are Super

(01:28:24):
Bowl champions. Were better than this. We gotta play better. Yeah.
Back back after the touchdown from Andy Dalton on the
short pass, they've answered with now a nine play drive
to finish out the third quarter. Here all the way
down to the New Orleans nineteen and Bryce Perkins in
a quarterback for Matthew Stafford, who's being evaluated for a

(01:28:45):
concussion in the locker room right now. So Perkins, look,
has he thrown the ball ot, Absolutely not. I think
he's run it once and they've he's handed it off
the other eight times or seven times he's thrown at
one time this drive. So they're they're relying on their
offensive line to grind out hard yards on the ground

(01:29:06):
for Williams and for Acres, and they're having success. So
we'll see if it continues. I mean, look, it would
be the first time really that they put together a
long drive this game against New Orleans Saints on the road,
and that's a difficult place to play when the Saints
are playing well because that's a loud environment, especially with
a backup in now at quarterbacks. So they'll see, we'll

(01:29:28):
see if they can convert. But this is the first
time this offense has shown sign of lives in several drives. Yeah,
second and six right now for the rams of the
Saints fifteen yard line. We just finished the third quarter
in that game. Meanwhile, the Bills, after their latest touchdown
went for two, did not get it. So it remains
Bills twenty two and the Browns ten in that game.
Still a three three game between the Jets and Patriots.

(01:29:51):
Why haven't we talked about the only game this morning
that has two teams in the winning record to score
speaks for itself. Three three Zack Wilson is five or
thirteen sixty five yards, Mac Jones seventeen of twenty actually
eighteen of twenty one hundred and ninety four yards. I mean,
they have dominated this game statistically, and yet they're not

(01:30:14):
on the scoreboard, which says a lot about this. I'll
tell you why I sell a defense of the Jets. Yeah,
it's because he keeps getting sacked. Four sacks in this
game for mac Jones. Yeah, you know. So it's like
you're doing all this work and you're having success, and
you're moving the football, and then you get to third
down and the Jets keep coming up with plays to
get pressure on mac Jones or to get him on

(01:30:35):
the ground, and so he's been sacked four times. The
Patriots have only four on converted four of ten attempts
on third down. So the problem isn't moving the football.
For the Patriots are doing fine. They're two hundred fifty
total yards to the Jets ninety seven. But the problem
is in those critical situations, they're letting up pressure and
they're not converting and extending these drives. All right, let's

(01:30:58):
hear the Bills score. Gosh Is under center, takes the snap,
hands it off, Kevin Singletary cuts right, goes back, lift
into the end zone. Touchdown Buffalo a five yard touchdown
run by Motor w g R Bills Radio Network. Two
point conversion, No good. Bills leave the Browns by a
score of two ten. Again, that game should have been

(01:31:20):
a Bills home game, but because of all the snow,
they moved that game to Detroit. Allright, we roll on
as we head to the fourth quarters around the NFL.
We got three of the eight games tied right now,
which games will provide the exciting finishes? Keep it right
here to find out. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

(01:31:41):
This is Fox Red Zone Radio, and we've got the
place that you may have missed. That goes hurts again,
he's looking, he steps up, he fires complete and it
was a cluxtone clause. What goes? Now back live to
the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red

(01:32:05):
Zone Radio. That's w i P Eagles Radio Network. So
the Eagles finally get in the end zone. They still
trail the Colds thirteen to ten, thirty one to go
in the fourth quarter. There, welcome back to Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. We are live from the ti iraq

(01:32:26):
dot Com studios. Meanwhile, the Falcons have taken the lead
over the Bears twenty four to seventeen. Let's hear that
Falcon Scot Marcus will keep it right side touchdown in
Lanta diving into the end zone. Marcus took a big
shot when he got to the end zone, but he's
given Atlanta the lead with one forty eight to play
of the third on a ten yard run. The game

(01:32:49):
Falcons Radio Network seventeen. Falcons lead the Bears inside two
minutes ago in the third quarter. In that game, the
same after the Rams scored on a field goal to
cut the lead seventeen. Rich. Now the Saints are moving again.
They have a first thing goal at the Rams eight

(01:33:10):
yard line. So we talked a lot about this Rams offense. Defensively,
they are getting absolutely destroyed today by Andy Dalton, who's
eighteen of twenty one and three scores. Yeah. Well, here's
the funny thing about Andy Dalton. He's not a bad quarterback.
I mean, he just went to the playoffs a lot

(01:33:30):
of years. Never won a playoff game in Cincinnati, but
what four or five runs of the playoffs? Yeah, I
was about to say the exact same thing. I can't
remember if it was four or five times, but with
the Cincinnati Bengals, he had success. He's not a bad quarterback.
He's now I'm not saying he's elite. I'm not saying
he's great, um, but but he's a solid quarterback. And
so if he's surrounded with a motivated roster, which it

(01:33:54):
appears at least the Saints still are this season, he
can make things happen. And that's exactly what we're seeing
in this game today. I mean, this Saints offense has
been brutally efficient against this Bears defense that's had some
success this season. So if it continues, it's gonna be
a tough loss after a motivated Bears team got to
see some juice from the quarterback. A lot of excitement

(01:34:16):
around Chicago with Justin Fields, even though it's a three
win football team. Um, but they've been pretty dreadful on
the road. The Bears, they have to get over that
hump if they're going to become a good football team. Well,
there's the problem for Andy Dalton. So he had a
second and goal at the three yard line. He takes
in eleven yard sack. Yeah, so you gotta get rid

(01:34:36):
of the ball. I mean, you just have to once
you scrambled out of the pocket, throw the ball away.
He can't take in eleven yard sacks. But now it's
the third and goal for the Saints at the Rams
fourteen yard line. Saints lead this game by a score
of twenty four to seventeen inside eleven minutes to go.
Uh in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, we're looking for some
action here between the Jets and the Patriots and we

(01:34:58):
get none nothing. Three game. My eyes darted over the bear.
So I was talking about them on the road. The
Leonard Floyd getting that sack against Andy Dalton is huge
for the Rams. I mean, if they're going to survive
the day, they're going to need to slow down this
Saint's offense down in the red zone and already they

(01:35:20):
gained some of that yardage back they ran the ball
on third down, so they'll go for the field goal here. Yeah,
it's gonna it's gonna be a settle for three points
here and they'll lead by ten with nine minutes forty
two seconds in the fourth quarter. You remember back to
after the Super Bowl victory for the Rams and Aaron Donald,
there was a lot of debate whether or not he
was gonna be back, and you know, Sean McVeigh was

(01:35:43):
on the hey, let's run it back campaign with his
uh with his leading defender, and Aaron Donald agreed and
he's back. And it just hasn't looked even close to
the same this year for the Rams so far this season.
Now one one team that has been dominant today of
the Lions on road against the seven and two Giants,
it's still twenty four to six Lions. How about this stats,

(01:36:05):
say Kwon Barkley, who's been battling Derrick Henry for the
NFL Rushing League fourteen carries twenty two yards. His longest
run is four yards. So here's st Kwon Barkley. Yesterday,
talking to our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider Adam Caplan,
we were talking about m VP candidates. Obviously, we talked
about Patrick Mahomes, we were talking about Jalen hurts Um

(01:36:27):
and he brought up stay Kom Barkley says, without Barkley,
where's that Giant's offense. Well, today, Barkley hasn't shown up
no running lanes at all against this lying defense. Now
fifteen carries twenty two yards. That's the reason right now
the Giants only have six points. Yeah, I mean, look,
it's it's a little bit of feast or famine with

(01:36:48):
Sa Kwon Barkley. It has been his whole entire career
and I include back to collegiately with the Penn State
Nittney Lions. I mean, if you look at the game
looks this year, it's either he's running for like seventy
eight fifty yards or he's running for almost a hundred fifty,
you know. And and that's the type of ball player
he is. He's a home run hitter. He spends a
lot of time behind the line of scrimmage and then

(01:37:10):
he finds a seam and he's fast enough to just
be gone in a moment. So it doesn't surprise me.
I'm not saying that it's unsurprising that he's under you know,
been held under twenty yards. That I mean, it's been
a paltry performance by this rushing offense of the New
York Giants, but just the style of rusher he is.
He can break a seventy yard or at any moment

(01:37:30):
a fifty yard or at any moment, and all of
a sudden, when you look at the final stat line
on the game, you say, all right, well he had
an okay day. Meanwhile, he was shut down for three quarters.
All right. By the way, his Saints field goal was good.
So twenty seven seventeen Saints over the Rams, nine minutes
to go in the fourth quarter. Welcome to the Fox
Sports Radio tailgapers and by the Big Green Egg. Nothing
beats a flavor of live fire cooking on a Big

have two games that are going into the fourth quarter
with a three three score. I would I would venture

(01:38:13):
it's been a long time since the NFL had two
games going on simultaneously that went into the fourth quarter
with the scores three three. It's the Panthers and Ravens
are three three. The Jets and Patriots are three three.
It has not been much of a day offensively, and
and you were thinking maybe we would see a little

(01:38:34):
turnaround this week in the NFL. Just hasn't happened. No, no,
not yet. It hasn't really materialized. Although I will say this,
you know, the one team that surprises me the most
amongst the four that are all knotted up at three
three between the Jets, the Patriots, the Carolina Panthers, and
the Baltimore Ravens is obvious. It's the Baltimore Ravens. Where

(01:38:55):
is their offense? They can't get in the end zone.
They have yards? Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, no, they're their
Their biggest problem so far today is there oh for
two in the red area. You know, they got to
convert those red zone visits into scores. And Lamar Jackson
isn't having a bad day except he hasn't thrown a
touchdown and he's thrown a pick. So far, He's twenty

(01:39:16):
of twenty eight for one, seventies six through the air,
and on the ground. They're getting it done pretty good too,
with sixty yards through the first three quarters of action.
They just have not been able to get it into
the end zone. And so look, if this is going
to be what we hope to see from a Lamar
Jackson led in Baltimore Ravens an exciting finish. You gotta

(01:39:38):
find a way to get wins at home. The Ravens,
as a matter of fact, and do I have this right?
Are two of their three losses at home? Are all three?
They haven't been a great home team this year. Yeah.
The Ravens this year at home are two and two. Yeah.
There they were four and one on the road going in,
but only two and two at home. Hey, I want

(01:39:59):
to of kudos here. It's not been much of a game.
The Commanders continue to lead the lowly Texans by a
score of twenty three to three. They're in controlled timinutes
to go in that game. Uh, Ron Rivera, he got
really emotional after that big win against the Eagles. Um,
this guy has gone through a lot. You know, he
had the cancer situation. Uh, it's been a tumultuous time.

(01:40:21):
But this was a team that started the season with
a win against the lowly Jags, rattled off four straight
losses and again you can you can gather a season
get away from you real quick. But assuming they hang
on to this lead, that'll be five wins in the
last six weeks and get them back over five hundred
playing in that very surprisingly tough ann Acy East. But

(01:40:42):
Ron Rivera is a heck of a coach. Yeah. I
like Ron as a coach. I think he is a
culture builder. I think he's a guy who makes teams
who aren't as talented as maybe as maybe the record,
chose to play above their abilities. And you're seeing that
with this roster by Taylor Heineke right now. I mean,
this is a team that in that span of time

(01:41:04):
you were just discussing, made a quarterback switch, and really,
you know, I have only improved. And so that's Look,
this is a difficult league to win in, you know, period.
So teams who are who make quarterbacks switches and have success.
I give a ton of credit to, you know, I
give a ton of credit to Dallas for withstanding the

(01:41:24):
whatever was the four game or five game stretch without
Dak Prescott. I give a lot of credit to the
Commanders who benched Carson Wentz and put Taylor Heineke in there,
and they've continued to have success. It's it's it's pretty
it's pretty difficult, like I said, to win in this league.
It's are a lot more difficult when you have uncertainty
at the most important position on the field. So yeah,
kudos to Rivera and his staff. One of the more

(01:41:46):
competitive games today the Bears on the road against the Falcons.
Bears have the ball trailing seventeen. They had the ball
in the red, something got called for a hold, so
now they have a first and twenty at the Atlanta
twenty eight yard line. But this isn't been back and
forth between those two teams, all right, Let's find out
what's trending right now on what has been an uneven

(01:42:08):
day in the NFL for something, because you know last week,
I mean, they had to carry us out after that
and then we're just yellow after that, like sugar crash.
I remember nothing else besides those two minutes. It was unbelievable.
So we're waiting for something like that. Yeah, everything it's

(01:42:30):
kind of a little bit, yeah, of a boring day.
Nobody's having a killer game or anything like that. But
let's start with the Rams and the Saints. Quarterback Matthew
Stafford is being evaluated for a concussion. You guys, he
just cleared concussion protocol like three days ago, and now
he's being evaluated again for a concussion. That's why he
went to the locker room. And right now the Rams

(01:42:50):
are losing to the Saints with seven minutes to go
in the game. Twenty seven to seventeen is the score.
Anti Dalton for the Saints has completed twenty of twenty
three passes for two d fifty four yards and three
touchdowns so far. The Lions are up on the Giants
twenty four to twelve early in the fourth quarter. The
Panthers and the Ravens a snooze fest. The entire game,

(01:43:11):
just tied at three apiece early in the fourth quarter.
Lamar Jackson has completed twenty of twenty eight passes a
hundred and seventy six yards, one interception, and no touchdowns.
He hits twenty six yards on the ground. The Commanders
have been all over the Texans, but at least the
Texans hit a field goal, so they haven't been shut
out totally. Twenty three three is the score. Ten minutes
to go in the game. The Jets and the Patriots

(01:43:32):
also a snooze fest, tied at three apiece early in
the fourth quarter. The Colts and the Eagles a couple
of exciting plays, but nobody has scored. The Colts are
still up on the Eagles thirteen to ten halfway through
the fourth quarter, and the Bills just hit a field goal,
so they've extended their lead over the Browns five to ten.
Is to score early in the fourth and the Falcons
are up on the Bears seventeen with about ten minutes

(01:43:54):
to go in the fourth quarter. Justin Fields has completed
fourteen of twenty passes for the Bears, a hundred and
fifth three yards and a touchdown in the air eight
yards in a touchdown on the ground. Back to you guys,
all right, monster, thank you very much. I'll check in
with you a little bit later on. So, yeah, the
Giants finally get back into the end zone here, still
trail the Lions by a score of twenty four to twelve.

(01:44:17):
Daniel Jones in this game twenty of thirty two fifty
three yards but no touchdowns. He has thrown a couple
of interceptions. He did run for a touchdown fifty yards
on the ground. Well, when Daniel Jones is you're leading
rusher and you're the Giants, it's usually not good news.
You need Barkley down big day again, just twenty two
yards rushing for Sae Kwon Barkley, Jared Goff. I don't

(01:44:40):
know what you say about Jared Goff. He's fourteen or
twenty two eight yards, no touchdowns, no picks, not a
much of anything there. But hey, lion Stone in the
driver's seat right now to get their third consecutive victory.
All right, let's hear that giant score? Is it for Frida?
Up the middle of the talk down? That is that

(01:45:02):
is the shortest highlight we have ever had. Kareta up
the middle of the town and there it is three
second highlights w fand Giants Radio netwhere that's what happens
when you're getting blown at at home by the Lions.
You keep your highlights so short, you do you do? Indeed? Well,
I'll say this. Look, it's a windy day at MetLife,
and oddly enough, the dome team, the Detroit Lions, are

(01:45:26):
handling the elements better than the home team, the New
York Giants. Um, they're kind of dominating this game, you know,
from a rushing standpoint, throughout the course of throughout the
course of the morning slate or the afternoon now on
the east coast, well both coasts. Um, So yeah, I
think that's The game plan for the Lions is, look,

(01:45:47):
we're gonna put in Williams hands, We're gonna put in
our our rushing offense hands. We're gonna try to generate
as many yards as we possibly count on the ground.
And that's been a positive for the Detroit Lions on
the road today in New York. All Right, the Colts
are trying to put away the Eagles, but when you
have Matt Ryan at quarterback, it's never good, uh, in
clutch situations. As we just saw, they had a third

(01:46:10):
and goal at the Eagles five yard line and he
takes a ten yard sack and just like that, so
the Eagles defense prevails. Colts will now attempt a field goal,
leading the Eagles by a score of thirteen at ten,
but it keeps the Eagles hopes alive. They will get
the ball back here assuming the field goal is good
with a little less than five minutes ago in the

(01:46:31):
fourth quarter. So it's uh, it's a big one for
Jalen hurts Um. You know the Eagles right, No, didn't
play well Monday night against the Commanders, haven't played well today.
But if you could steal one on the road against
the Colts, it would be pretty sweet. So we'll see
what happens with the Colts attempting field goal again. Colts
lead the Eagles thirteen at ten, but a big sack

(01:46:53):
by that Colts defense. Meanwhile, the Bears have gotten in
the end zone. The Bears have gotten in the end zone,
and they are at stra point away from tying this
game against the Falcons with eight minutes ago, uh in
the fourth fourth quarter. Again, everyone said the Bears Falcons game,
that will be the game of the morning. No one
said that, but that's exactly what's been the case. It's

(01:47:14):
been a good battle between two young quarterbacks. Well justin fields.
The young quarterback hundred fifty three yards passing in a touchdown.
He's run for eighty yards in a touchdown. He's looked good.
Marcus Mariotta hasn't done much, but enough to keep the
Falcons in that game. So it's all tied twenty four all.
The latest score was a David Montgomery two yard run,

(01:47:36):
So twenty four all Bears and Falcons eight minutes ago
in the fourth quarter. Then, and then check him back
in in Baltimore where it's all knotted up three all
between the Ravens and the Panthers, and then, of course
hosting the New York Jets are the New England Patriots
that game tied at three as well in their opening
round matches in Qatar of this year's World Right, so

(01:48:00):
those four teens, thank you. By the way, these it
looks like they're playing the wrong type of football. Out
cold suffield goal was good, so four thirties seven ago
on the fourth quarter, Eagles will get the ball back,
trailing the Colts by a score of sixteen to ten.
All right between the Ravens, Panthers, Jets, and Patriots all
with three points right now, which of those four teams

(01:48:22):
will score next? Any predictions right now? Because it's got
None of these teams are close to a score. I
mean they're I do care, I do care. I think
it's gonna be. The Ravens are at the Carolina twenty
three yard line right now. They have a second and eight,
So the Ravens are in the best position to score
right now, but it hasn't been much of an offense. Meanwhile,

(01:48:43):
the Rams and he attempted a comeback. Doesn't look good.
Saints leading twenty seven to seventeen and they have the ball,
So the Saints now, uh, with the ball in control
five and a half minutes to go in the fourth quarter,
as the Rams are staring at wow, the abyss I mean,
Rams lose this game, that would be six out of seven,

(01:49:03):
six out of seven. Do you remember when the Rams
lost to the Cowboys. It was the first time since
Sean McVeigh took over as the coach of the Rams
that they had ever had a record below five hundred wow. Um.
In fact, actually it was with their opening game when
they lost because he I guess I think he had
won every opening game with the Rams. They had never

(01:49:26):
had a losing record, and here they are, you know,
that's staring at it could be a disastrous season. It's
on his way. Um, I don't know. I mean Sean McVeigh,
he is a very good coach. And but remember after
winning the Super Bowl, all those huge offers Amazon was
throwing out there, and you know, and and he sorted maintain,

(01:49:50):
I don't see myself as one of those guys that's
gonna be a lifer where I'm like a Bellot Check
or an Andy Reid, where I'm out on the sidelines
well into my sixties. The guys in his thirties Uh,
what do you think? I mean, how is he going
to Because I've been watching his postgame press conferences he's
basically been saying the same thing every week. We just
got to play better, we gotta play better football. And

(01:50:12):
I'm just like he's wondering, Steve, Steve, we all can
see it. But he's never had a season like this,
right right. These are tough seasons which you're guaranteed to
face if you're a head coach. But he's never had one.
I know, I know, But if you coach for long enough,
you're you can't be great all the time. And the
mark of a great coach is to find a way
to not be as bad as your roster suggests you

(01:50:35):
should be, and to be better than your roster. But
he's looking for answers right now. And we've been saying
this for several weeks, like, Okay, he'll figure this out,
and it's not happening. Well, the one the answer is
to find a way to possess the ball longer offensively
if you're the Rams, because you got to take the
pressure off this defense. And that's what he's aiming to
do by trying to re establish this run or this

(01:50:57):
run game. The problem is they keep getting behind the
way they are in New Orleans today, where you're trailing
by ten, you can't lean on your run game anymore.
Now you gotta start throwing the football. And oh, by
the way, what makes matters worse is Cooper Cup is
out for the foreseeable future, so you gotta find a
way to get it done without them. Yeah, I mean,
it's a mess of a season. They were a mess

(01:51:18):
up front on the offensive line, and then they had
early injuries up front on the offensive line that complicated
the issues. And then they lost their best player on
their roster, which is Cooper Cup who won the receiving
Triple Crown last year. You know, so what what do
you expect from this team? I'm I mean, look, they're
they're most likely gonna be three and seven after this week,
licking their chops, and they're playing in a tough division

(01:51:40):
still in the NFC West. This is gonna be a
bad season for the Rams. It just is. And this
is typical of teams that win the Super Bowl or
lose the Super Bowl. When you play that deep into
the season, there's an an accumulate accumulation of plays that
other teams don't have to go through and wear and
tear on the bodies of the players that have been

(01:52:00):
there the whole way. And I think it's kind of
savaging the Rams roster right now. No, it didn't seem
to affect the Patriots back in their heyday. They just
kept going back to the Super Bowl every year ninety
Wait a second, can we get that Bear score in
two tight ends? Left out of lot eq snaff take turn,
give it a Montgomery slice stak for the goal line
into the end zone for the touchdown. Touchdown, David Montgomery

(01:52:24):
touchdown Bear. All right, So w BBM News Radio seven
eight a M. One oh five point nine FM, Bears
Radio Network, that game is still tied. Falcons have the
ball right now at their own thirty seven yard line.
Seven a half minutes ago in the fourth quarter, Bears
and Falcons are all tied at twenty four. We finally
got the answer to who will score next. It was
the Ravens as they get the field goal by Tucker

(01:52:47):
there so six that three. Now the Ravens leading the Panthers. Meanwhile,
the idea that we're going to see another scoring regulation
in this Jets Patriots game seems uh not. Likely the
others ten minutes last they had. But the Jets have
the ball again deep in their own territory. I don't
know how long they can keep the ball again. With

(01:53:07):
Mac Jones, you look at his numbers and you're like,
what's happening here? Twenty four yards but as you pointed out,
five sacks every time they make a step forward that
Jets defensive liver. Meanwhile, Zack Wilson has been terrible. He's
six or sixteen, only seventy two yards in this game.
And again without Breece Hall, they have no running game

(01:53:29):
the Jets. Michael Carter is not Breese Hall. He has
six carries for ten yards in this game. Yeah, he's
been shut down there. Their whole run game has been
shut down. In fact, they're leading rush right now. Is
Zach Wilson with um? But it's it's been a long,
hard day for the Jets. And that's what it typically is,
especially when the New England Patriots are hosting a young quarterback.
Their record at home against young quarterbacks is absolutely astounding,

(01:53:52):
and they're doing it the right way. What they're basically
saying is, okay, Zack on this you know weather day
here in New England, why don't you go ahead and
try to beat us? And what they're doing is they're
putting a tremendous amount of pressure on Wilson. They've got
three sacks on them today and they're completely shutting down
the run. So they're saying, if you can beat man
coverage on the outside and we just load up the

(01:54:15):
line of scrimmage and stop your run game, can you
beat us? And they answer so far as no, the
best they could do is tie. Um. And then, like
we were talking about, the Jets are doing something very
similar to the Patriots on the other side. You know,
I think they're having slightly more success running the football
than the Jets are, but they're committing a lot of
bodies to the offensive line and they're putting a hard

(01:54:36):
pass rush on mac Jones and he's not he's not
winning against man coverage. Um, not not at a slow
rate of Zack Wilson on the outside. But the sacks
are absolutely killing the Patriots. All right. The Eagles we
talked about, can Jalen Hurts lead a comeback, and they
have a comeback rolling right now. The Eagles trailing the
Cold sixteen to ten, now have the ball at the

(01:54:58):
Indianapolis four teen yard line just Saturday, screaming at its
colds defense. I don't want to lose a game. I
can read his lips. I do not want to lose
ever as a head coach. Right now, well he's thinking
it all right. So the Eagles right now have the
ball and they are inside down about the ten yard line.

(01:55:19):
They're facing a third down and three uh. And again
with us winding down here towards the two minute warning,
it's obviously four down territory for Eagles team trailing by
six points. So let's let s keep it right here
for now and just see where the Eagles go with this.
Jalen Hurst I was had this conversation yesterday talking about

(01:55:40):
league MVP. I think everyone agrees Patrick Mahomes touchdown passes,
he has five more than anyone else. Uh and the
Chiefs are obviously playing well, so we have him at top.
But some of the other quarterbacks that we're being mentioned.
You know, we talked about Jalen Hurts obviously, Gino Smith,
you talked about most valuable where with the Seahawks be

(01:56:00):
without Geno Smith? You know, who's a prizing name to
a tongue of LA he is leading the league, and
not only passer rating by ten points, he's leading the
league in total quarterback rating this year. I mean, how
much does that Tyreek Hill a lot, but to a
tongue of by Lois, statistically is having an off the

(01:56:21):
chart season. Yeah. He has been the reason why the
Dolphins have had success offensively, and we have proof to
that when he was out with the concussion after the
Cincinnati game, that offense really struggled without him. He's accurate,
he's smart, He gets two plays like these are the
things that you don't see. He checks out of bad

(01:56:41):
plays and he gets you too better plays. He understands
fully the offense that Mike McDaniel has put in this
offseason to an extent that Teddy Bridgewater and then Skyler
Thompson absolutely did not have as strong as an understanding
for and obviously weren't meshing well with some of the
skilled position ayres around this Miami Dolphins offense. Yeah. I mean,

(01:57:02):
especially since we've gotten to see what the team looks
like without to this season, I would argue that he's
the most valuable player because we we actually seen the
example of when he's not out there, how valuable he
is to this team's success. So yeah, to a right
now is my front runner? One of one of the
amazing stats about two of this year eight games, he's

(01:57:23):
only been sacked eight times. So obviously that's a that
talks about the Dolphins offensive line. It also talks about
a quarterback that gets rid of the ball. Yeah, get
rid of the ball and two has done a great job.
All right, Well, we gotta that we can't hold it
because we gotta on the other side. Can the Eagles
deliver on this late drive against the Colds? Keep it

(01:57:44):
right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This
is Fox Red Zone Radio, and we've got the plays
that you may have miss We'll keep it on the
read option tooke some and stumbled at the one times
there gonna touchdown. Robar Jeckson extends the Ravens lead with

(01:58:08):
the first rushing touchdown at the first touchdown of the game.
Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
This is Fox Red Zone Radio. That's ninety eight Rock
Ravens Radio Network. So the Ravens finally wake up and

(01:58:30):
now lead the Panthers by a score of thirteen to three.
Welcome back. This is Fox Sports Red zone Radio. We
are live from the tire IRAQ dot com studios. Did
the Texans actually score looking stepping up now bailing after
the leftis touchdown? Texans? Yeah, Texans Radio Network. So they

(01:58:51):
are still trailing the Commanders twenty three to ten. We
got two minutes to go on the fourth quarter. But
since we've been away the big story, Jan Hurts the
lever ran the ball into the end zone and the
Eagles have taken a seventeen sixteen lead over the Colts.
Still time for the Colts one twenty to go in
the fourth quarter. It was a little uneven. They had

(01:59:13):
a fourth down, they got the first down, they took
a sack. But again, Jalen Hurts, if you're trying to
talk about m VP candidates, no doubt he's on that list.
Ninety three yards through the air. He's also i'm sorry,
eighteen nine yards one touchdown through the air. He's also
run for eighties seven yards and a touchdown. So any

(01:59:35):
m v P discussions so far in the NFL has
to include Jalen Hurts. Oh, there's no question about it.
And then, um, you know, but don't put it past
the Colts here because Matt Ryan's their quarterback, and he's
led thirty eight fourth quarter comebacks and forty six game
winning drives. Yeah, I mean, he has a history there
and he's had a pretty decent dates through on the

(01:59:55):
ball seven hundred and ninety three yards, So they will
have time. The Colts have one remaining time out. Yeah, yeah,
it's uh. They put themselves a little bit behind the
eight ball there, but they needed to use some on
that last drive to preserve the clock for this one.
So yeah, the Colts looking at a one point deficit

(02:00:16):
here with the football to close out this game. Exciting one,
you know. I mean, if there's one thing you can
say about the Colts since Jeff Saturday has taken over,
it's been interesting and it's been a lot more exciting
than it was previous to his tenure. Alright, the Falcons
took a lead on a field goal. They now lead
the Bears twenty seven to twenty four. So keep aary

(02:00:37):
in that game. Inside two minutes to go, second and
ten for the Colts, and they are going to get
a first down they move the ball. Meanwhile, let's hear
that Eagles score. Hurts textless Snow, he's back. He's gonna
run He's then talk down. That is w i P
Eagles Radio Network. So seventeen sixteen, the Eagles lead the Colts.

(02:00:58):
Colts had the ball in the forty our line time
stop shorts down there, uh fifty three seconds ago in
the fourth quarter. For the latest on that game and
any other exciting finishes, keep it right here. This is

zone touchdown, Detroit Lions. Those guys up front have done
the job all day long, and they opened that thing
up wide and DeAndre Swift ran it right up the
gut for the touchdown and the Lions have extended this lead.

(02:01:42):
That's w x y T FM N one the Ticket
Lions Radio Network. It appears with four minutes to go
on the fourth core. The Lions are on the way
to a third and second of victory point an upset
on the road against the previously seven and two Giants.
It's been a big day for Detroit once again. We're
broadcasting live from the ti iraq dot com studios. Tirack

Tirac dot com the way tire buying should be. It's
all over. The Eagles have held on to beat the
Colts by a score of seventeen sixteen, so a big
victory there. Saints beat the Rams twenty seven to twenty.

(02:02:26):
The Super Bowl champions are now three and seven on
the year, and the Falcons hang on to beat the
Bears twenty seven to twenty four. Meanwhile, Rich the Jets
and the Patriots still tied at three. The Jets have
the ball with a minute thirty to go, and I'm

(02:02:46):
gonna bet the bank on this one that his game
is gonna go it over time. I don't see any
lengthy drive here for the Jets. That Patriots defense has
been outstanding as expected. Remember, the Patriots have beating the
Jets thirteen great times, including a couple of weeks ago,
so they have owned the Jets over the years. But
right now the Jets are still well in their own

(02:03:08):
territory and the clock is ticking. You know, Look, Zach Wilson.
It's still early in his career and I know he's
had some injuries, but I'm he's not the future of
this Jets team, and it's showing today. He's got two
or three passes now, one I know I watched where
it was in and out of the hands of mccordy.

(02:03:30):
The other one was in and out of the hands
of Jones of this Patriots defense that should have been picked.
There was another pass earlier that was definitely a turn
turnover worthy throw. Um. It's it's pretty brutal. And he
just took another sack earlier in the drive. I mean,
he he does not understand this offense. That's what it

(02:03:51):
looks like to me. He just doesn't know where to
go with the football and he's panicking out there. All right,
We're watching a Ravens interception of the pan thirds. So
the Ravens pretty much have this one wrapped up. They
have the ball and a third teen, a three lead,
three and a half minutes to go in the game.
What a day though for the Lions and Dan Campbell, right,
I mean, you win a couple of games in division,

(02:04:11):
but still, what are the chances the Lions are gonna
rattle up three straight wins. But that's exactly what's happening.
They have the ball leading thirty one to eight team
against the Giants, team that came in on a roll.
Giants are favor in this game. I know a lot
of people come out of this game and said, I
told you so that Giants were way overrated, not nearly
as good as a record indicates. I take the other side,

(02:04:34):
I say, guess what Dan Campbell's got this Lions team
believing in themselves. They're starting to get a few breaks
right now. I put this one not so much on
the Giants losing. This was a win for the Lions.
They dominated. Yeah, yeah, the Lions. Look, the lines are
starting to get hot. It's quiet, right. You don't want
to talk about it. You don't want to talk about

(02:04:55):
it too loudly yet, because it sort of feels like
it's too early to say these sort of things in
the in the development during the Dan Campbell era. But
it feels like a turnaround. I don't know if it is,
but it feels that way. This is what they look like,
the Detroit Lions. If you were if you were to

(02:05:16):
tell me right now, amongst any NFC team, out there
with a losing record, who would you be most afraid
to play? It's there's no question about it's Detroit. By
the way. The Jets are literally just trying to run
the clock out. Um, they're punny right now. Fourth and
three and they get the punt off, so the Patriots
will get the ball back. Big punt by the way,

(02:05:38):
so the Patriots will have the ball at their own way.
A big retire for the Patriots. Unbelievable. Off to the races.
The Patriots have gotten the punt rate touchdown of the
seconds left to pull this game out against the Jets. Unblievable.
What happens that's unbelievable. The Jets in a three or

(02:06:03):
three game decided let's just run the clock down. There
was twenty six seconds left. They get a big punt
off and it's returned for a touchdown eighty four yards
by Bryant. This is what you call sort of out
kicking the coverage. It was a booming punt. And was
he ever touched by a jet? I don't think so. No,

(02:06:27):
not a single jet touched him, and with eight seconds left,
the Patriots gonna win this game. Unbelievable. Why would you
punt that ball inbounds? Like you know what I mean, Like,
if you're the New York Jets with this little time
left on the clock, why why would you even give
them a chance? Why was that? Why was that ball inbounds? Wow?

(02:06:51):
That is we've been waiting for, like some unbelievable play
to happen today. That was one I did not predict
what happened. And the extra point is good so that
the Patiods are gonna beat the Jets on a eighty
four yard punt return by Now who was that by?

(02:07:14):
Was that Marcus Jones or was that Brian? They listed Brian.
I think it's Bryant. I missed it. There it was Jones.
It was Jones, all right. So Marcus Jones is the
one that returned it eighty four yards for a touchdown.
Uh and again Uh, Brandon Man a big time punter.

(02:07:36):
He he boomed it. I mean, he just hit a
missile and it gave Marcus Jones a running start before
he even saw a Jet, and he ran through all
of them. I can't believe that ball stayed in bounce.
I just I just, I mean, like you look at
where he was punting from, Like how how do you
how do you let that ball stay in the field

(02:07:58):
of play? You just kick it? You I mean, okay,
so so or by the way, you could technically try
to run out the clock and just heave the Well,
now you don't want to give it to them. You
gotta punt it. You absolutely have to punt it. But
they just should have angled the punt. And even if
you give the Patriots, you know, presumably better field position
by trying to angle it towards the sideline, it's better

(02:08:20):
than this. They just lost the game on a walk
off punt return touchdown. By the way, Yeah, with the
Commanders win today and the Patriots winning this game against
the Jets, to say, the powers in the East, every
team of the NFC East and the a f C
WE East has a winning record. All eight teams of

(02:08:42):
the NFC East and the a f C East have
a winning record. That's that's incredible. It's late in the season,
it really is. I mean it's it's late in the
season here. I mean you could have potentially three or
four teams from each of these divisions get into the postseason.
Oh yeah, I mean that all all of those teams

(02:09:05):
in the East, in both the NFC and the a
f c's a f C are alive for postseason berths. Astounding. Yeah,
so right now, with the Commanders win today, they're over
five hundred, and with the Patriots winning this game against
the Jets, they're over five hundred. That's it. All eight
teams combined in the Eastern divisions of the NFC and

(02:09:26):
a f C have winning records. Meanwhile, we're coming down
to the stretch here. Bills have a thirty one sixteen
lead over the Browns. Minute to go, Browns have the
ball too little, too late. After a slow start, the
Bill has got things right, especially on the ground as
James Cook and Devin Singletary both have eighty six yards
on the ground. So it's been quite an ordeal for

(02:09:48):
the Bills, to say the least, just trying to find
their way into Detroit. But after a slow start, just
trying to shake off the cobwebs, Bills woke up and
get back on the winning track. Yeah yeah, listen, Uh,
the Bills are very talented football team. Um, I know
that they're on They were on a little bit of
a skid there, Hold on, hold on, you know their

(02:10:10):
next game is at Detroit, Like I said, how about
at Detroit? Actually that three in a row. Really they're
hosting the Bills, That's what I'm saying. Man, that's the
way team you don't want to see. Well wait a second,
that's a return to Detroit for the Bills. Yeah, so
they play back to back weeks in Detroit. Well, it's

(02:10:33):
like a home game now for the buff Do they
stay there? What's know? Their plan is to come back
home to Buffalo? Are they really? I mean, I don't
know what they're returning to because it's Detroit, I guess.
But anyway, Yeah, Bills will prevail today beating the Cleveland Browns.
Just the final score to be determined. As we mentioned

(02:10:55):
inside two minutes ago, Panthers had the ball again too little,
too late. Is they're leading the are trailing the Ravens
by a score of thirteen to three. All Right, we
got games underway, including this Raiders Broncos matchup. We previewed
that a little bit earlier. Also Cowboys Vikings Bengal Steelers,
and a Sunday night matchup between the Chiefs and Chargers.
Are the Chargers on every Sunday night game? Now? I

(02:11:17):
don't know how they suddenly became a rag. They got
Sunday Night Football. They got flexed in this week because
I think the game that was supposed to be in
that spot was the Pittsburgh Cincinnati game and they said no,
thank you, Yeah, no thank you to that. So we'll
give you a little preview all those games. Keep it
right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This

(02:11:41):
is Fox Red Zone Radio, and we've got the plays
that you may admits. Dad left credit right to the
park down the middle of the town. Now back live

(02:12:06):
to the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox
Red Zone Radio. Yeah, that's ninety eight five the Sports
Hub and Patriots Radio Network. Patriots have done it again
as they beat the Jets on that eighty four yard
punt return by a score of ten to three. Welcome
back into Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Way a live

(02:12:29):
from the tire rack dot Com studios. It's get an
update on that big Saints win against the Rams. No,
it's time for the NFL Fox Focus. Well, he was
there and now we get a firsthand look at what
happened in that Saints twenty victory over the Rams. Jonathan

(02:12:53):
Jonathan Vilma is joining us once again, and Jonathan, we
we talked about this game going in like the Rams
at some point have to figure things out, right, I
mean we we hear Sean McVeigh week after weeks saying
we just have to play better, and now the Super
Bowl champions are sitting at three and seven. Can they

(02:13:15):
fix this this season? Jonathan, Oh, that's a great question.
I don't know if you can say fixed the season.
But what they can do is focus on what it's
called in them to lose. And you look at this game,
Matthew Stafford goes out, quarterback play has to be better
from the backups. Easier said than done, obviously, and then

(02:13:38):
defensively have to create some more takeaways, do things to
help your offense and get the new position to be
able to put some points on the board, because right
now it's a defensive led team and unfortunately defense didn't
do their part today. And then you look on the
other side, you have the situation with Andy Dalton, whose
performances validated the decision to keep him as the starter,

(02:14:02):
uh instead of Jameis Winston, who's now back from injury.
Jamis was honest leading up to this game talking about
how he was upset he lost his job as a
result of an injury. In his own words, do you
think that Andy Dalton gives the Saints a better opportunity
to win moving forward than Jamis Winston? Well, right now,
I look at a game that I just called where

(02:14:24):
you have no turnovers. The game was efficient offensively, they
were able to move the ball, they were able to
run the ball as well. Andy Dawn was accurate with
the football. So when you look at the totality of
the offense, not just the quarterback position, but what he
did to the whole offense at that quarterback position, it

(02:14:45):
makes sense to keep him there until or if if
they decide to say, look after a bad performance, were
we're gonna We're gonna try Jamis Winston again. That's you know,
obviously Dennis Allen's decision. But for right now, Andy Dalton
is the one that has its offense looking running the
way that it should. Jonathan, you know, obviously a tremendous

(02:15:07):
career in the NFL, College as well, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl,
you had it all. I watched Taysom Hill run. He
runs with more verocity than any running back in this league.
That's a guy you don't want to run into. He's
He's unlike any player in this league. But when he
runs the ball, and you know he's gonna run the
ball when he's in there, he just looks to attack.

(02:15:31):
Have you ever seen a quarterback or tight end or
whatever they label this guy run the way that Tasom
Hill does? Uh? Not? Not a quarterback, definitely not. But
I would challenge you to a guy named coll Darrel
Patterson over at the Falcons who's a little bit bigger,
a little bit faster and run just his violin. But

(02:15:53):
I get what you're saying about the violence that he runs. Frankly,
you want to see that from, you know, people that
are runn in the football because you want them to
punish the defense. Right. It's not about just hitting the hole,
but it's about hitting the hole and then imposing your will,
and that's what he does. You know a lot of
new head coaches around the NFL this season. New Orleans

(02:16:13):
Saints obviously moving on with Dennis Allen. You mentioned him earlier.
What do you what is he like? You know, because
he hasn't made a lot of news. There hasn't been
a lot of excitement out of New Orleans this season
so far. Down season for the Saints as a leader,
as a communicator as a head coach. What are your
thoughts on him getting opportunity to talk to him in
these production meetings leading up to this call. Dennis Allen

(02:16:37):
is note fluff. He is very matter of fact, very
black and white, um, And that's what you see with
him when, especially when they're losing. He doesn't beat around
the bush about well, you know, we could have should
have done these things better. He says we're not doing this, well,
we need to do this better or whatever it is.

(02:16:58):
And that's something that you can and appreciate as a
player because you want transparency and Dennis Allen did a
good job of communicating and being transparent with his team
about where they are, where they stand, where they need
to get better. Well, tey what it was a big
one for the Saints and another dagger in the hearts
of Rams fans out there is the defending Super Bowl

(02:17:19):
champions fall to three and seven on the season. Jonathan,
as always, we appreciate you taking time to join us.
Thanks so much. Oh thank you guys. That's Jonathan Vilma there.
So the Saints win this game and you mentioned Andy Dalton. Wow,
what a day for Andy. Twenty one sixty yards, three touchdowns,
no picks. That's a passer radium one forty nine point

(02:17:40):
six more than enough for them to secure the victory.
I mentioned Taysom Hill because I was watching a couple
of his runs, and you know, you and I joke
when we sit here watching because you know he's gonna run.
I mean yeah, I mean he's back there. He just
runs with He's a violent runner, like he's looking to
punish somebody. I know that. You know Jonathan Vilma, great linebacker,

(02:18:03):
as he was talking about Cardell Patterson, Well he's a
running back. There's a quarterback supposedly, I don't know even
had a label Tasom Hill. But we have a lot
of people are like, why do you give this guy money?
I'll tell you why. I love his I just love
his fire man and he he's a tax defenders running
the balls, and and he's also unbelievably efficient. Think about

(02:18:25):
how many times that they put Taysom Hill in in
those critical third down or fourth down conversion ever not
deliver or down near the goal line. It disappears that
his success rate converting third and fourth downs being that
utility man, Like you said, what is he is? He
a tight end. Is he a running back? Is he
a quarterback? Because he receiver? He really can do all

(02:18:46):
of those things and have success. And that's the most
important thing in the NFL. I don't care if you're
the biggest. I don't care if you're the fastest. I
don't care if you say you have the best hands,
are the best? Get off the line of scrimge, whatever
it is. Are you successful? You know when when when
the time when the bell rings and and it's time
to show up and and fight? Are you the one

(02:19:07):
coming out on top? And and that, for whatever reason,
over the course of his career as a New Orleans Saint,
has been the one stat that you cannot deny as
his success rate in those critical situations. All right, once again,
welcome to the Fox Sports Radio Tailgate presented by the
Big Green Egg. Nothing beats the flavor of live fire
cooking on a Big Green Egg. It's the most versatile

(02:19:29):
girl you'll ever own, back by a lifetime warranty rolled
with the best shop online ford free delivery, a Big
green egg dot Com lifetime warranty, free home delivery. That's
Big Green egg dot Com. Well, one game being played
right now is a game we talked about a little
bit earlier. Raiders and the Broncos. Again, both these teams

(02:19:51):
went into the season with great expectations. The Raiders are
coming off a ten win season. They bring in Davante Adams,
one of the elite receivers in the league. They bring
in Josh McDaniels. It's got a boatload of Super Bowl rings.
As an assistant with the Patriots, you figure they had
to get better. They've gotten much worse as they are
sitting at two and seven. And meanwhile, I was one

(02:20:14):
of those and you know this, I didn't buy into
the hype with Russell Wilson. I think we both talked
about if you were watching Wilson a year ago, he
was declining as a quarterback. The pounding he was taking
and carrying that entire Seahawks offense was taking its toll,
and he bears little resemblance of the guy that just

(02:20:35):
a few years ago was very much in the conversation
for m v PS, he just feels like early in
this game, no score, by the way, both these teams
are just wondering do we might did we make the
right moves? Denver's tied up. Russell Wilson now through the
next couple of years, and of course similar situation with
Josh McDaniels and the Raiders. They made a big commitment

(02:20:57):
to these guys and so far it hasn't haid off well.
And also you think about the the head coach turnover
with the Denver Broncos as well, you know, handing the
reins to Nathaniel Hackett this offseason, who has since been
forced to hire somebody to help him with two minute uh,
end of half, end of game situations in terms of

(02:21:19):
using timeouts and clock management. And then now it's turned
over play calling duties uh to his quarterback coach, Clint Kubiak. Uh.
He made that decision, Like we heard from Mark Shlareth
on the plane ride home from Tennessee last week, he
was beside himself because it was another loss and he
was thinking, well, geez, you know, we gotta fix this.

(02:21:42):
You know, we gotta find a way for me to
coach this whole team and his his thought processes, Well,
I shouldn't even have play calling duties. Look, I'm not
saying Nathaniel Hackett is gonna be a one and done
head coach. I don't know what the commitment level is
from the Denver uh front office or or or franchise ownership.
But you could make an argument that this Denver team, somehow,

(02:22:06):
with the addition of Nathaniel Hackett and Russell Wilson, actually
are worse off this year than they were a season ago.
How about this new offensive coordinator paid dividends on their
opening drive, A ninety two yard drive results in a
touchdown lead Davis Murray getting in the end zone. So
the Broncos have the early seven nothing lead against the Rators.

(02:22:27):
All right, let's find out what is trending right now?
Is once again Monsy Belanios is here and not quite
the excitement that we had a week ago, not at all.
But it ended exciting that un I know it's Steve
you called it real well. I wasn't even listening to Steve.

(02:22:49):
Just you know, I'm looking up. I'm like, all right,
so the Jets of just running out the clock, big
punt and next thing you know, I'm doing play by
absolutely absolutely no huts. Yeah, I mean New York was
I will just bump the ball ahead to overtime and
the patrios and thank you, thank you so much, and
the final score was ten to three. Nobody thought that
was gonna happen. Absolutely nuts. We do have three games

(02:23:12):
going on right now. Two of them are scoreless. Cowboys
and Vikings just got going scoreless. Bengals and Steelers just
got going also scoreless. But the Broncos have scored first
against the Raiders halfway through the first quarter on that one,
and they are up seven zero. A quick Greek cap
of the games that have already ended. The Falcons beat
the Bears twenty seven twenty four. It was the last

(02:23:32):
second field goal fifty three yards. They held on to win.
Four was the final score. Court Darryl Patterson returned a
hundred and three kickoff return for a touchdown. He has
nine kickoff returns for a touchdown, the most ever in
NFL history. Called Darryl Patterson quarterback justin fields at a
hundred and fifty three yards and a touchdown uh in

(02:23:53):
the air eighty five yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Marcus Mariotta a hundred and thirty one yards and a
touchdown in the air twenty five yards and a touchdown
on the ground. A very close comparison when it came
to those quarterbacks. In that game. The Bills had a
slow start but they came out on top of the
Browns thirty one to twenty three. The Eagles held on
and topped the Cold seventeen sixteen. So it was not
a Sunday fun day for Jeff. Saturday. The Patriots, we

(02:24:16):
just talked about it a crazy win over the Jets
at the end, ten to three, and the Saints outscored
the Ramps twenty seven to twenty. Quarterback Matthew Stafford, who
did have to leave the game as he was being
evaluated for a concussion, again through for a hundred and
fifty nine yards and two touchdowns in the game. Anti
Dalton two hundred and sixty yards and three touchdowns in
the game. The Lions scored first and it was a
field goal and they never looked back. They beat the

(02:24:38):
Giants thirty one to eighteen. Uh Detroit's Jamal Williams seventeen
carry sixty four yards and three touchdowns. The Ravens and
the Panthers, it was boring, but the Ravens came out
on top thirteen to three, and the Commanders defeated the
Texans twenty three to ten. So much but there you
go back to you guys. Great job is always some
months Cordeal Patterson and setting the NFL record most career

(02:25:02):
kickoff returns for touchdowns. That's nine. Of course, Devin Hester
had the insane fourteen punt returns for touchdowns. UM. His
candidacy for the Hall of Fame, UH last year he
was he made the finalist list, he didn't make the cut. Um.
But when we talk about these dynamic return guys like

(02:25:24):
a Cordarrel Patterson, uh setting records. I mean, and we
just saw this in this punt return for a touchdown
against New England the victory. I mean, there's a lot
of ways to bring excitement to a game, but there's
something about those electrifying return guys. Um, they just catch
your eye. I mean, I think Devin Hester should be

(02:25:46):
in the Hall of Fame. I think he will eventually
become really the first specialist return guy to get in
the Hall of Fame. But there's there's others out there
that Brian Mitchell's of the world. Eric mccalfe was a
dynamic guy. There's a lot of guys that had really
been dynamic return guys that I think should get more recognition. Yeah,
I mean, Devin Hester, I mean, you just saw how

(02:26:07):
brutal and backbreaking. That return for touchdown was in that
Jets Patriots game. I mean it literally was a walk off,
So that was particularly brutal for New York Jets fans.
But I mean, just think about how many he had
on his career. Twenty yea he returned twenty football's for touchdowns.
I mean, it just it's a it's astounding. He was

(02:26:31):
a complete game changer as a returner. And look, he
he was a receiver as well, not nearly as talented
at the receiving position as he was as a specialist,
but those moments during the course of his NFL career
completely flipped games. And I hope you know, look again,
I'm not a huge Hall of Fame guy. I don't
really care about the Pro Bowl or All Star voting,

(02:26:52):
and you know, the NFL or baseball or basketball. It
just doesn't I think it's very political. I think it's
kind of stupid to get who wrapped up in who
you know, quote unquote experts think are the best players.
We have eyeballs, we watch these games. We know we
don't need somebody to adjudicate it for us. But for
his own sake, if his personal legacy and his entrance

(02:27:12):
into the Hall of Fame is important to him. I
hope that he gets in because I think he was
one of the best players to ever play in the
National Football League. By the way, those twenty touchdowns don't
include the opening kickoff of a Super Bowl that he
returned for a touchdown and that bears loss to the Colts.
All right, let's hear that Broncos score. Wilson under center,
turns hands to Lettatious Murray. Murray powers into the end

(02:27:33):
zone and then flips the ball towards the south stands touchdown.
Denver k O A eight fifty a M ninety four
point one f M, Broncos Radio Networks and Broncos have
the early seven nothing lead on the Raiders. Meanwhile, the
Cowboys have a field goal on their opening drive three
nothing laid against the Vikings. This again a Vikings team
that very few people believe. In the opening line had

(02:27:56):
Dallas favorite on the road that number went up. They
have an early three nothing lead. This is the Dallas
team that is twenty nine in the league and rushing defense.
They have had two hundred yards rushing against them the
last two weeks. Uh Dalvin Cook two carries for seven
yards early on, then Kirk Cousins took a sack. Can

(02:28:17):
you be considered a Super Bowl contending team if you
have the inability to stop the run the way the
Cowboys twenty ninth in the league in rushing defense. Can
you be a legitimate Super Bowl contender if you can't
stop the run? No, And that's the reason why they're
not being considered that way. When you have a flaw

(02:28:38):
that great on your resume, you're just you're you're just
going to get found out and it'll happen during the
regular season against better competition like they're facing today in Minnesota.
Will see what the outcome will be against the Vikings.
But one if if you don't get it sorted out,
it's going to kill you in the postseason, you know,

(02:29:00):
especially depending on where these games are going to be
played in the postseason. On the NFC side, if you're
you're playing in a cold weather environment, if you're on
the road and you're not hosting a game, you could
be in big, big trouble. Because again, the Philadelphia Eagles,
they they have the divisional lead in terms of the

(02:29:21):
NFC East. So where where did the Dallas Cowboys finish.
Where do they rank come then to the season is
going to depend on where they actually um, where they
actually end up playing, whether they're you know, going to
I don't know, shoot, I mean, they could even end
up playing in in New York, you know what I mean?
And you're telling me that se Kwon Barkley isn't going
to try to pound the football down their throat. It's

(02:29:44):
it's just one of those situations for Dallas. They need
to sort this out, and they need to sort it
out fast. One team that's quietly turning things around the Bengals.
Early on the game, noes score with the Steelers. Bengals
start the year O and two the old Super Bowl hangover,
especially for Super Bowl losers. They want over the last seven.
They did have that ugly loss of the Browns. But
Joe Burrows beginning to look like that Joe Burrow we

(02:30:07):
saw a year ago. I was looking at his passer
ratings in the top six or in the league right now. Um,
are the Bengals flying under the radar because we we
said last year, I mean, so many things went right
for them. Still, the inexplicable second half collapsed by the
Chiefs at home in that a f C Championship game,
and we were wondering after the Bengals lost competitive loss

(02:30:28):
of the Ramps and the Super Bowl, was this inn aberration?
Are we going to see the Bengals? In contention, I
think a lot of us were believed and we've seen
it so far. The Ravens would have a bounce back
season they have. Where are you right now with this
Bengals team? Well, where I am is the same place
I was last season, and you know, it's it's kind

(02:30:48):
of fits and starts with them. It's a little bit
of feaster famine. Yeah, they're rolling off of an astounding
win in their most recent game against the Panthers, oft
one thrashing, But prior to that, they got the pants
beat off them by the Browns. I mean it was
really ugly they I mean they couldn't do anything right.
So you look at their schedule ahead, Yeah, they have

(02:31:11):
the Steelers on the road today, but then they go
on the road to face the Titans, then they host
the Chiefs. They got to face the Browns again at home,
and like I said, they got absolutely embarrassed by the
Browns in Cleveland the last outing. Then they go on
the road to the Buccaneers, then they go on the
road to face the Patriots, then they host the Bills
and finish the season with the Ravens. It's murderers row

(02:31:33):
for the Cincinnati Bengals to finish out this season. Uh So, Yeah,
they may be one of those teams that puts it
together late, but they're gonna need to put it together
late against some of the best teams in the NFL.
Right now, by the way, I look here at the
AMC playoffs standings. Um, oh, we have a guest joining

(02:31:54):
us right now as the Washington Commanders come up with
a big victory to day. Uh, as they are above
five Hunter the Commanders turning around with a ten victory
over the Texans and joining us right now from the Commanders,
Derek Forrest. Derek, congratulations on your victory today. Um. This

(02:32:14):
is a Washington team coming off, of course, the big
win against the Eagles back on the road and the
win today against Houston. Talk about this victory today, Derek.
Man to watch us, especially coming off the Wayne on Monday. Uh,
this momentum thing for us now. Man, we gotta keep
going out there playing confident and keep the thing going
so we can get you to get our conference. Yeah, Derek,
congratulations on the win today on the road. Also, congrats

(02:32:36):
on the pick. We were watching that play when it happened. Yeah,
really fun, really fun momentum shift there for your team
there on the road. And you know, we were talking
a little bit about Ron Rivera earlier, Derek. He he
seems like a really impassioned leader. This is a guy
who wears his emotions on his sleeves. He lets guys
know exactly where they stand. What has been your experience

(02:32:57):
playing for Rivera, especially this season, Absolutely great man. He's
a guy that comes in here with a higher motor.
He makes sure that we're always gonna be on point.
He's our leader, you know, and we we we follow
behind him. So as long as he's being great man,
we're gonna be great man. So I'm definitely, you know,
thankful to place for a coach like him. Derry, I
want to ask you about Ron Rivera. We saw him

(02:33:17):
very emotional after a big win against the the Eagles,
and he's gone through a lot personally. Talk about his
leadership of this team, you got it. So he comes
in every day and he's ready to work and uh,
he he tries as much to he can to block
and all the outside noise so that we can stay focused. Man.
You know, we go at ego man. So as long

(02:33:38):
as long as he comes in and he's being great, man,
we're gonna be great. And uh, you know, I'm proud
of him, you know, because he always fights through. You know,
he never he never, he never changed his win adversity comes. Man,
he says the same. Know, it's fights through. You know,
as a safety, you gotta practice again. Some of these
guys who had big games today, Terry McLaurin, Logan Thomas.

(02:33:59):
You know, I think this is probably one of the
more underrated receiving crew, Curtis Samuel, who's had some really
brilliant moments this season. Tell me about the receivers that
you have to face that practice every week. Man, Those
cause dogs. I mean you can see a day in
and day out, they work their butts off. They're definitely underrated,
and I fly they need more recognition, man, But those receivers.
You know, our whole receiving group is great, man, starting

(02:34:21):
from Terry on down man, and uh a fight. They
definitely do need more recognition. And you know they come
in day in and day on and they work and
they work and they work, and they keep their heads
down and they don't listen to any outside noise. They
don't listen to anyone who's saying that somebody else's top
ten in the league. And they and they just come
out here and they do they same man, and they
compliment him team man. So they've got a great group

(02:34:42):
over there. Well, Derek, I I I want to make
light of this. Understand, I'm not attacking on this, but
I gotta mention, you know, I take it there's not
gonna be any beers on the flight home or oh
absolutely not, absolutely not. I can tell you that now.
I'm gonna tell you that now as I'm not looking

(02:35:03):
forward to that a game. Well, there's plenty of time
for you guys to celebrate a big victory today. Congratulations
Derek on the ten win in Houston today. All the
best the rest of the way. That's Derek forrest of
safety for the h I had asked, I meant, do
you know what I would It's gonna be Capri sons

(02:35:26):
and high seas and uh, it's gonna be Hawaiian punch
on the flight home this time. Yeah. So and by
the way, you look at the commander schedules. So they
still have a couple more weeks before they finally get
their bye week. Uh, they have the Falcons at home,
certainly a winnable game. Then they go to the Giants.
I don't know about the Giants after today. Then they
have the bye week, and then they have the Giants

(02:35:48):
again at home on the road against the forty niners,
and they finished up with the Browns and Cowboys at home. Um,
it's a long shot, but there's still breathing as far
as a playoff spot. All right, once again, we are
coming down the stretch for our show. There still a
lot of games going on around the NFL. Will keep

(02:36:09):
you updated. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Steve
Harman and a rich Armburger. Welcome back. This is Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. We're live from the ti iraq
dot Com studios. Want to thank the crew today. Iowa Sam,
he's a big believer in Iowa, says he's gonna shock
the world when the Iowa Hawt guys win the Big
Ten Championship. Is that I didn't I never said that.

(02:36:33):
I said they're gonna be sacrifice to the pigskin gods. Well,
last year they were in the Big Ten Championship and
they were sacrifice to the Pigskin forty two to three.
By the way, we only have a couple of weeks
left in the college football crazy It's it's I've been
gorging on it lately. Fourteen hours of football a day Saturday.
I started nine am and I'm quick till eleven PMOS

(02:36:53):
that Utah Oregon game last night? Oh yeah, I can.
I can confirm this. I'm on a text chain with
Iowa sam on on football Saturdays, and my man is
in deep you know what. I Am wide open on
this Heisman race. I mean, it could go anyway. I
will say this about Caleb Williams, the USC quarterback had

(02:37:14):
a huge game against U C. L A. He could
pretty much control his own destiny. I mean, if he
has that kind of production against Notre Dame this week,
and by the way, Notre Dames no walkover. Irish are
playing some pretty good football right now, and then the
Pac Cold Championship game, which at least right now is Oregon,
but that's not a guarantee because Oregon still has their
Civil War battle with Oregon State. The Beavers pretty good

(02:37:36):
team this year. But if he has big game, big game,
we could be seeing Lincoln Riley as the coach of
yet another Heisman Trophy winning quarterback. He's already got two.
He almost had a third with Jalen Hurts three in
a row. He almost had there at Oklahoma. But then
I watched Caleb Williams last night. That guy can throw
the football. Well what about your distant relative Sam Hartman

(02:37:59):
out there with the Demon Deacons. No, no, here's what happened.
So yesterday I did my Heisman rundown and my number
one guy was Drake May, the quarterback of North Carolina,
leading the nation, total offense, leading the nation, touchdown passes,
tar heels or nine and one. I put them number one.
They lose at home yesterday. I mean, I mean, you

(02:38:22):
talk about the kiss of death. I put it on him.
So Drake May out of the running. Uh. Look at
c J. Strout obviously still very much and it's all
gonna come down these final games. I mean, for c J. Stratt,
it's very simple. If he has a monster game and
they beat Michigan big, he could be the Heisman Trophy winner.
But if he you know, this is what happened last year.

(02:38:43):
Remember It all came down that final week and then
Bryce Young just lights up. Georgia. That's how you won
a Heisman Trophy. How do you play in the biggest
game on your schedule? We got a lot of college football.
I want to thank Moncy today doing a fabulous job
as she always does. Play. Are you feeling good about
your Chargers tonight? Oh? Yeah, yeah, well yeah, well I'll

(02:39:10):
give you some good news. It looks like they are
very hopeful that Mike Williams and Keenan Allen will be back.
That would be nice, you know that. That is a positive.
But pretty good, Yeah, kind of I heard. I hear.
Patrick Mahomes is pretty good. I'm not sure. Yeah, he's
hanging in there. He might win the Hisman this year
here remember conversation. Uh. And of course, Ryan, doing his

(02:39:34):
brilliant job, is always behind the scenes producing this show
masterfully as he always does. By the way, a quick
programming note here, by popular demand, you and I are
being put together to do a show this Friday, which
I think is Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, big
shopping day. So we're gonna be on the air together

(02:39:57):
noon to four West Coast three to seven on the
East Coast, UH doing the show on Friday, So looking
forward to that. Well, the people have spoken and the
Fox Sports radio executives have responded. They said, we need
Hartman and Ormburger on the busiest shopping day of the year.
We need to keep everybody who's in the store is

(02:40:18):
bouncing from sale to sale, Uh, engaged and entertained. And
so yeah, if you, if you, if you haven't gotten
your fill through this four hour stretch, you just wait
till Friday. All right. Not done yet here, all right?
So the Broncos have added a field goalie now lead
the Raiders tend nothing. I mean wow, I mean the Raiders,
by the way, came in this game oh and five
on the road off to a bad start there. The

(02:40:40):
Cowboys and Vikings tied. It's three, but the Cowboys have
a third and goal at the Vikings one yard line
and they are in the end zone. Touchdown Cowboys. I
believe it was Zeke Elliott, Yes, Zekel Ellie getting in
the end zone. So the Cowboys would lead there and
three three Bengals and the Steelers. So hopefully we're gonna

(02:41:04):
see a little more scoring in some of these afternoon games.
Final predictions from you Chief's Chargers. Does it get ugly tonight? Yeah,
I'm sorry, Montery. I got the Chiefs in this one.
That's really going out on a limb. More NFL coverage
came in there on Fox Sports Radio
