Go, let's go.

Speaker 1 (00:27):

Buckeyes today, Right, Yeah, he.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Got It's that email last night. I really appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
It's like go box, am I right?

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Did I get an amen?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
That was the last thing I read before I went
to bed last night.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
That's breaking out replies. By the way, crazy, I didn't
get a reply from the Nitney Lions choir over here.
Good morning, fellas. What are you thinking. Let's cut to
the chase here. What are you thinking about your conservative
dink and dunk Nitney Lions against the Ohio State. Did
they open it up a little bit today?

Speaker 5 (01:26):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I might have to.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
It's possible they may have to be I would say
if they If they do have to, they're probably trailing.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
By two scores.

Speaker 6 (01:39):
That's the reason why they're opening it up. I mean,
the the best way to win games is to try
to play to your personality. If you're a front runner,
like say the Miami Dolphins this year, and you just whoa, whoa.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I'm catching strays already. Goodness, I say, what one little
joke about your Penn State Niitney Lions.

Speaker 6 (01:59):
I'm raising for cup over here, fins, When when when
when you're front runner or I mean usc perfect example
of another team who's built to play with a lead.
You want to jump on a team early, You want
to score fast, and you want to keep scoring because
the fear is well, defensively, we'll get found out, you know.

(02:19):
And and so that's not a Penn State's game. Their
game is we want to rely on the run game.
We obviously want to keep the ball close to the
line of scrimmage in the past game, and we want
to rely on this tremendous defense we have. And and
if you can slow down Ohio State's offense. That game
plan works on the road in the horseshoes. So, like

(02:40):
I said, if you're gonna win this game, it's gonna
be because you're playing a characteristic football game, a very
Penn State looking football game. If this game starts opening
up and we start seeing, you know, the early signals
of a shootout, even if that's a game that Penn
State is in at the moment, I don't think they
could sustain that pace, and so that would make me

(03:01):
very nervous as a Penn State fan.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
If if that's what it looks like early on.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Yeah, I think it's just more about managing the emotions
of this game. This is the season, like the season
hasn't started yet, like it's been I know there's no
preseason in college football, but but Penn State hasn't played
anyone and you know, Ohio State has had one really
tough game, and you could say that they were outplayed
in that game and probably should have lost. And I
think when we look at this game, especially in the

(03:29):
first half, that's where we've seen a lot of money
come in on the under. And it's weird because the
total in the game is forty six, but the first
half totals twenty one and.

Speaker 7 (03:39):
A half, which is less than half than the full
game total.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
So it just kind of shows you what the smart
money thinks is gonna happen here. And that's exactly what
Rich just said. You start slow, you try to get
a lead, and then if things go poorly with your
plan A, which is run the ball and play defense,
then you got to open things up. And that's that's
what happened in the second half of last year's game,
and that's why it went over. So I I just

(04:02):
whichever quarterback doesn't defecate down their leg in the second half,
I think that team probably wins the game. That's just
how I feel, because no quarterback in this game has
been tested yet, we have no idea how they're going
to respond to these really tough environments in these tough moments.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Well that's what I come back to. With Penn State
in particular, Like you said, Rich, their defense has been
lights out just awesome, leading the country in multiple categories.
But to Jared's point, what offense that Penn State has
faced strikes you as like, oh wow, yeah, like they're legit.
We'll run down the list real fast. West Virginia, Delaware, No, Illinois,

(04:40):
New Iowa, Northwestern humss Yeah yeah. And I'm not saying
that Ohio State is like the CJ. Stroud version with
Marvin Harrison junior last year and they're slinging it all
over the place. That's not what Ohio State is. But
they pose a much bigger threat than any of those
twas I just rattled off. So I want to see

(05:02):
what Penn State's defense does on the road stepping up
in weight class a significant notch here, because that's not
quality what they face thus far. And when they face
better quality, do we see similar results or not?

Speaker 6 (05:16):
And that's really really difficult to replicate at practice. Also,
when you don't have as quality of an offense, I mean,
what player or players on that team can show you
what Ohio State's going to do to you from a
standpoint of ross speed. And you have to remember, if
you don't play against quality offenses, well then that's your

(05:37):
only shot to really give your defense what it needs
to prepare.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
So the past four.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
Games, you name them, Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, UMass, those teams
all rank in the past one hundred or I should
say below one hundred in terms of how poor their
offense play, only ranking them Ohio State's in the top twenty.

(06:04):
You know, in virtually every metric you look at. You
know so man Penn State's best chance is let the
dogs up front eat. If they are going to win
this game, the Nitney Lions have to put.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Extreme pressure on Kyle McCord.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
Get in his kitchen early, make him um comfortable, get
him off his spot. Even if you're not getting sacks
installing drives, you need to get him off his spot.
You need to hit him after he throws the football.
You need to get those pressures. Look, Max Crosby in
the NFL is one of the best pass rushers that
nobody talks about because he doesn't pile up sacks, but
he's constantly affecting a quarterback's ability to throw on time,

(06:45):
a quarterback's ability to throw without having to worry about him.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
That's what this needs to look like.

Speaker 6 (06:50):
I don't care how many sacks you get, as long
as that quarterback's thinking about the rush instead of thinking
about where he wants to place the ball, what shoulder
of the receiver he wants to locate with the football
because he's worried about getting his head ripped off. That's
how you play football at at at a rate that
nears excellence as a defense when you're getting pressure on

(07:10):
the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
I'm trying not to knock the teams that haven't played
anyone yet because it's they can't control that, like you,
and I'm sure coaches stretched this all the time. I
stress this in my personal life every day. Control what
you can control. Don't don't worry about the idiot on
you know, the idiot troll that's yelling at you on Twitter.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
You can't control that.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Control the quality of your work, the quality of your day,
your mental your health, fitness, all that stuff. Penn State
has to be like, we can't knock them yet for
what they haven't done. Like they've passed every quiz, right,
it's only been the pop quizzes so far. They haven't
really had the midterm yet. Today is the midterm and
we'll find out how good they are. The talent's certainly there,

(07:51):
and sometimes when you push people to a higher level,
when you when you put the spotlight on them, you
see their best stuff. So I don't think it's fair
for us. And you could say saying about Ohio State.
I know that they've played the game against Notre Dame
and they've been tested a little bit more. But let's
be honest, it's been underwhelming. And I think if you
actually stack up the games next to each other, even

(08:13):
though the competition has been more subpar for Penn State,
I think their performances have been stronger.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
Their defense is just I.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Mean, they have made those bad teams look really bad,
and that's encouraging because at least they're not letting these
teams hang around. And that would be scary because if
you're playing a soft schedule and you're not dominating that schedule,
then the red flags pop up. But we can't control
who's on their schedule. Everyone they've faced, especially defensively, they

(08:42):
have absolutely dominated, and.

Speaker 7 (08:44):
I think that's an encouraging sign.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
And maybe it's just a fan in me, but I
think the defense is going to step up and put
together a performance today and you just hope that Drew
Aller makes a few throws. It's really the receiver group
that I think has been the struggle. They haven't had
an alpha this year and they're gonna need somebody to
step up today make some plays.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Yeah, you know, it's it reminds me of a college
quarterback that played at like a lower level and trying
to figure out if he's gonna cut it in the
NFL or not. If you look at Josh Allen, the
Bills quarterback, and you look at Wyoming schedule and you're
trying to figure out is this guy gonna be the
real deal in the NFL, that's tricky. Or Carson wentz Er,

(09:23):
the list goes on and on. It's not easy to
figure out if they have a great chance or not
because of the competition that they faced. So that's what
I think with Penn State. Penn State in particular, they
haven't played Murderer's Row, so that makes it tricky to
figure out how they're gonna fare against Ohio State today.

(09:44):
I'll tell you this is what I do know. James
Franklin is trying to pull a Jim Harbaugh. Not stealing
signs or anything. But if you look at Jim Harbaugh
early on in his career against Ohio State, loss loss, loss, loss,
every year until the last two years, and you look
at James Franklin, he's what one in eight against Ohio State.

(10:07):
So he's trying to channel his inner Harba here and
correct that because this is a hurdle that Penn State
hasn't been able to jump over, and they have to
if they want to get anywhere of college football playoff note.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Yeah, Another thing that I would like to point out
is the fact that among these quarterbacks, and this could
also be due to the fact that Ohio State has
faced a better defense, at least one better defense than
Penn State has. Coal m Accord under pressure has a

(10:42):
has a horrible grade when he's facing pressure. He's close
to the bottom of the list in power among Power
five quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
So that's that's part of.

Speaker 6 (10:53):
This conversation too, is you can't control what you what
you don't see at practice or what you don't see
in the games leading up to a big game. And
that's a part of the puzzle for Ohio State is
how do we get this guy real game reps that
replicates what I was talking about, Getting hit, getting pressured,

(11:14):
getting forced out of the pocket, having to try to
extend plays, having to throw while on the run, or.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Evading the rush.

Speaker 6 (11:22):
Those are really difficult things to prepare for it and
sometimes it takes taking some lumps. Sometimes it takes years
of taking some lumps. As a quarterback before you really
get comfortable facing pressure at the collegiate level, and then
when you advance at the professional level, it's uncomfortable to
get hit and to maintain the same outlook on a

(11:44):
game when you're worried about your own personal safety, So
you know, you take the deeper dive. And again, I'm
not trying to skew this towards my nit Kney Lions,
you know, my alma mater. I'm really thinking of it
through the lens of objectively. If I were looking at
this game and I had no affiliation with either side,

(12:05):
who do I think has a better chance on paper?
Like we normally discuss, and I really do feel like
the biggest edge that Ohio State has is the fact
that they're playing at home, neutral site. I'm looking at
this game through a completely different lens, but I think
if you get down early, if you're the road team,

(12:26):
college football environments change a lot of things for an
offense that has to play catch up on the road.
So that's the biggest thing is making sure to get
pressure on the opposing quarterback and quieting down that environment
by scoring early in the game. If Penn State can
do those two things, they can leave Columbus with a win.

(12:46):
If they can't, they absolutely will not.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Man, I would love to see them leave Columbus with
a win. That would be awesome.

Speaker 7 (12:54):
So fun story. I was at the game in twenty seventeen.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
When Saquon Barkley took the opening kickback for a touchdown.
Penn State had a three score lead in the fourth
quarter and then JT. Barrett exploded and they blew it.
And that was a year that I really thought they
were better. I thought they were better than Ohio State
that year. But for some reason, Columbus is just a
house of horrors for them, and you nailed it. Ohio
State's offensive line has not played as well as they

(13:22):
need to play, and their defensive line hasn't generated as
much pressure either. But offensive line, it's not a surprise
when they lost three starters last year in the draft, Johnson,
Jones and Whitebler their center. So I think there's just
there's an opportunity for Penn State's defense to create havoc
in this game.

Speaker 7 (13:39):
And Manny, die this is I think.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
The two most experienced coordinators and the best coaches in
this game are not the head coaches. They're the defensive
coordinators Manny Diaz and Jim Knowles, And I think the
chess match of how those two probably feel like they
need a score in this game.

Speaker 7 (13:55):
They need a pick six, they need a scoop and score.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
They need some kind of a play to get their
offense a short field. What kind of havoc? What kind
of schemes? These guys are master schemers. The defenses today
need to set the tone.

Speaker 7 (14:08):
Which one will set the tone?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
I think Penn State has more talent on defense, but
they're on the road, and I think Ohio State has
the more explosive offense. So chess match, all around, fascinating game,
low total spreads, trending toward a field goal, feels like
a really good game. Guys, it really does.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Well.

Speaker 2 (14:25):

It's like a jukebox. Just keep putting money in.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Yeah, is good. This is really good letter.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
It's a good idea, right.

Speaker 7 (17:00):
This is worth the money. This is worth the money, Bud.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Yeah, this feels right?

Speaker 7 (17:04):
Does now?

Speaker 2 (17:05):
What did they say right there?

Speaker 3 (17:07):
They don't ghost stay go see I know all the
songs because I was in the stands.

Speaker 7 (17:12):
Rich was on the field during these games, but I
was in the stands.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
I can pure Rich look it up at the crowd, like,
who's that idiot up there?

Speaker 6 (17:19):
Yea, Honestly, it's fun to hear things like this because
I to this moment. This is how am I thirty seven.
I played there from ages eighteen to twenty two. I
had no idea what they chanted at the end of
that song.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Did you ever see you guys did the Alma mater
right after the so you know the Alma Mater?

Speaker 4 (17:43):
No, I don't know a single word to it.

Speaker 6 (17:47):
That started after I left. They started singing the Alma
Mater with the students section. So we didn't do it
when I was there. And yeah, so I remember it
was on a It was on a quiz during class.
There was a teacher who liked football players, which is
rarer than you think on these campuses. But there was

(18:08):
a teacher who really liked football players, and just because
she was a big she she asked and if any
of us could come to the front of the room
and sing the Alma Mater, and she would like pass
the whole class.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
All of us couldn't do it.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
None of us knew the words of the song, and
so well, I'll.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Tell you what one of my favorite moments of the
entire college football season has been. It was Duke quarterback
Riley Leonard and they had a big win. It was
against Clemson, and Riley Leonard said to one of his
teachers there was a video and he's like, hey, teach,
can I get an extension? I don't think I'm gonna
get the project. The next day, the teacher was like,

(18:48):
great win, Riley.

Speaker 6 (18:49):
No, No, it was on Instagram, right was a.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Big social media star.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
That's so good.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
I break up because in the ACC we've got number
sixteen Duke against number four Florida State. And now here's
the deal. You could argue that the engine for Duke
is their defense. Their defense has played very very well
this season. Or you could argue their engine is Riley
Leonard and the story right now. After he suffered that
high ankle injury against Notre Dame a few weeks ago,

(19:23):
he hasn't played since, and the expectation is that he's
likely to warm up before the game, but most likely
won't play against Florida State. So how does Duke fair
if they don't have Riley Leonard out there against the
number four ranked Knowles. You can't just lean on your
defense that's too high powered to a Florida State offense.

(19:44):
You got to match points at some you know, at
some point here. So I just that's a tough one
on the road for the Dukies. If there's no Riley Leonard,
who does a great job putting stress on a defense
using his legs, gives you the run pass, you know,
dual threat right there, they're most likely not going to
have that guy tonight.

Speaker 6 (20:04):
Yeah, they And they have what's his backup, same Bellin's
he's filled in. He's been he's been good, but not,
I mean, not superlative. I look, when you look at
just the talent offensively for the Seminoles, h Kean Coleman
is a top fifteen prospect in this upcoming draft.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Johnny Wilson is easily a I.

Speaker 6 (20:29):
Don't want to say a first day pick anymore, but
a second round pick. Maybe he sneaks in at the
bottom of the first round depending. Jordan Travis obviously is
a top twenty player in the country right now quarterback
of the Seminoles. So offensively, this team has tremendous amounts
of firepower. Now, like you mentioned, they're well equipped to

(20:49):
give the Seminoles Duke Is a run for their money.
They've done an excellent job offensively and defensively throughout. But
I feel like, very different from the game we may
see at noon on the East coast nine o'clock West
coast time, Penn State, Ohio State. If this goes the
way I think it's gonna go, this could be a much,

(21:12):
you know, much more high scoring affair. You know, we
could see we could see Florida State runout to an
early lead or Duke frankly and then one or the
other team chasing points the whole time. This could this
could be one of those shootouts if, especially if Riley
Leonard actually plays in this game.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Yeah, the Markt kind of tricked us this week on
this one because it was trending. So it opened in
the thirteen range and then it jumped up to fourteen
pretty quick, and then it actually got to fifteen Thursday
ish when news was kind of circulating that Leonard wouldn't play,
and then Mike Elko Gamesmanshit poker Face gets on I

(21:52):
think it was Thursday, gets on camera and says, oh yeah, well,
you know, he's trending in a good direction and gave
a real positive update and then just the kicker at
the end. But we're not gonna throw him out there
unless he's one hundred percent. So again, we've seen this
before with Kyle Whittingham. We've seen this before with coaches.
They are not going to give you the full story.

(22:13):
You have to kind of read between the lines and
see what the market does. And again, the market early
in the week gave us the indicator that Riley Leonard
wasn't playing. Then Mike Elko does his little song and
a dance and the market jumps back down to thirteen
and a half. And now we're seeing it write it
around fourteen, kind of waiting on the edge of that,
you know, two touchdown cliff before we get the official

(22:35):
news whenever we get it over the next few hours.
And my guess is, if Riley Leonard doesn't play, I
don't think he's going to play, then you're gonna see
this move to north of two touchdowns. I bet Florida
State minus fourteen earlier this week. I felt like it
was a number that wasn't going to be on the
wrong side of the market because I don't think Riley
Leonard is gonna play, And I think this closes north

(22:56):
of that. It was Florida State owns this matchup, but
twenty one to zero against Duke all time, forty plus
and eighteen of the last twenty one meetings, like this
is a matchup that they historically dominate.

Speaker 7 (23:05):
And I really like the familiarity with the coaching staff.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
So Mike Norvell, the head coach of Florida State, hired
Kevin Johns, the current offensive coordinator at Duke, when they
worked at Memphis together. They know each other very well.
How does that translate to this game? My guess is
Florida State's defense is going to have a step even
faster than usual against this Duke offense. And even if

(23:29):
they if they do have Riley Leonard out there, I
still think Florida State's defense has the edge. Florida State's defense,
we don't talk about it a lot. When that defensive
line gets going, they are legit. The problem is they've
only really played two games all year. They played Florida
State and they played Clemson, and they played those two
games really tough, and they put their tough guys out
there for most of that game the rest of the game.

(23:52):
It was a lot of rotational people the rest of
the games this season against the BCS and the you know,
the the other you know, bad teams that have played
Florist State this year. So I think we're gonna get
their best people tonight, and I think we're gonna see
it really inspired after iland Forest State wins this game
pretty handling.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
It's kind of tough where you say, hey, what's our
record historically against Florida State. We're oh and twenty one.
Do we have a Riley Leonard tonight? Probably not. You
just start there that It doesn't just make me spring
out of bed as a Jukie fan, like, all right,
here we come, baby, let's do this. But hey, man,

(24:28):
it's college football. Crazier things have happened. But man, they
are gonna have to do the equivalent of a hockey
goalie standing on their heads. That defense gonna have to
be lights freaking out for the Dukies to keep it
close and make it a fourth quarter game. All right,
somebody who stands on his head actually giving sports updates.
I don't know if you know this a little bit

(24:49):
of a trivia information that would be Isaac Loehenkrauz, trust
me right now doing a handstand. Multi talented. He's got
the latest. What's going on?

Speaker 8 (24:56):
I low all the blood is rushing towards my had.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I feel.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
He's down. Oh my god, we can fill do an update.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Just kidding.

Speaker 8 (25:08):
Oh, I'm completely fine. You know who's not fine? You
know who's not fine? Folks as fans of the Texas Rangers,
because in Game five of the American League Championship Series
on Friday, they led the Houston Ashers four to two.
Nobody out top of the ninth inning, but two on

(25:28):
and Jose all two of A launched a three run
home run for a five to four wins of The
Astros lead the series three games to two. One went
away from their third consecutive American League pennant. In Game
four the National League Championship Series Friday night, the Arizona
Diamondbacks rallied from a five to two deficit in the
bottom of the seventh inning to beat the Philadelphia Phillies
six to five to tie that series at two games apiece.

(25:51):
In the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers this morning placed tight
end pat Freyermuth on injured reserve because of a hamstring
injury and activated receiver at Dionae Johnson from injured reserve
and a scary story here. TMZ reports that Los Angeles
Rams receiver DeMarcus Robinson is okay after he was robbed
at gunpoint early Friday morning of over one hundred thousand

(26:14):
dollars worth of jewelry outside of a Los Angeles area hotel.
Police are investigating. No one as of yet been arrested. Finally, fellas,
you remember the college football game that was played at
Sofi Stadium in Englewood that was known as the Jimmy
Kimmel LA Bowl.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
You remember that? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (26:34):
All right?

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Well, the La Times reports.

Speaker 8 (26:37):
That that bowl game will now be known as the
La Bowl, hosted by Gronk, as in former NFL tight
end Rob Gronkowski. The game will continue to fit a
Pack twelve team against the first place team from the
Mountain West. A bowl organizer told The Times the deal
was signed at a fancy restaurant in West Hollywood, where

(27:00):
Ronkowski became the first person that the restaurant ever allowed
to wear shorts. No dress code when Gronk is involved.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
So the bo's getting wild tonight, That's what I'm talking about, Baby.

Speaker 8 (27:17):
It will now be the La Bowl hosted by Gronk.
Getting wild back to you guys.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
I love that it's a fiesta now yeah, yo, soy fiesta.
That's one of Gronk's famous drops right there.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
And I cannot wait to see, like what okay? So
for anybody, for the uninitiated, when you are a bowl team,
you're invited to events along the way. You know the
Rose Bowl famously, you have the Lowry's State Challenge where
you sit down. When we were in it, Penn State

(27:50):
against USC back in you know, January first, two thousand
and nine, that Rose Bowl. I think Penn State won
the State Challenge. We lost the game, of course.

Speaker 7 (28:01):
Lost the game. I had money on that game too.

Speaker 6 (28:04):
There's a lot of there's a lot of those those
those events that you have to go to. I remember
when we were in the Almo Bowle, you took a
boat ride down the river that passes through like you know,
there's all these different things. I'm so curious, what, Gronk,
what do you do with the Gronk Bowl like event?

Speaker 3 (28:21):
You hang out with Gronk?

Speaker 2 (28:23):
I hope so, I think, right, you gotta have glow sticks,
some sort of spiking contest theme. Yeah, definitely have to
have that. Hey, let's do this right here on on
Fox Sports Radios Camp Down to Kickoff, presented by BEDMGM.
Let's dive in.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Count.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Okay, so we uh. One of the group texts we
got this week, it wasn't just bribing Christopher Fett to play.
That was niitney lyon music. There was a Jared saying, hey,
this this Heisman market here I got thought. So, Michael
Penicks Junior, the Washington quarterback, he is the clear favorite
right now at minus one forty five. Next in line,

(29:10):
you've got Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy and Oklahoma quarterback Dylan
Gabriel at ten to one. So it's less than even
money for Michael Penick Junior next in line ten to one,
So Pennick Junior has a hugely You're not a fan
of this in terms of betting on Penick Junior though, Hun.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Jerrett, No, I think we should just rename this award
the best quarterback in the Pac twelve this year. I
think that's who deserves Dylan Eisman Trophy, and I think
Pennix right now is that guy. But the odds are
telling us that it's a sure thing almost. I mean,
the odds are saying that it's over almost a sixty
percent chance that Penix's gonna win the Award, and I

(29:51):
don't feel that confident that Washington's gonna run the table.
I mean, they got some tough games, love, and I
actually think the guy that just beat him is the
best bet in this market because if you look at
Oregon's schedule down the stretch, they can run the table.
And if they do run the table, they will be
back in the PAC twelve Championship game. And if it

(30:13):
is Oregon and Washington in the PAC twelve Championship Game
and Oregon wins the second return matchup, bo Nicks is
gonna win the Heisman because Oregon's gonna go or Oregon
will win the PAC twelve. So I think that's how
I look at this market now. I don't discount what
Pennix has done, guys, but the odds are telling us
that he's the Heisman, and I'm just we're halfway through

(30:36):
the year. I think there's a lot of runway left here.

Speaker 6 (30:38):
Yeah, yeah, I really I don't know if there's value.
I'm still hung up on Jordan Travis, my preseason pick
but I just don't think he has the schedule that
can win him a Heisman. Unfortunately, for the Seminoles, outside
of this week where they'll be facing a duke team
who may or may not have their starting quarter back

(31:00):
in the game, it's their last game of any note
or any rank. You know, they finish out the season
with two big rivalry games against Florida and Miami. Miami
season obviously hit the skids with poor decision making at
the end of a football game for Mario Christobal and
Florida hasn't looked themselves in a long time. So yeah,

(31:23):
I just I think this is sort of one of
those those bets, those future bets, that doesn't feel like
it has a lot of value taking a long shot underdog,
because when you look at some of the underdogs that
you can take a long shot on, do they really
have a feasible route?

Speaker 4 (31:39):
And the answer maybe no.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Well, I think Shaduur Sanders, the Colorado quarterback, showcases how
long of a season it is. Yep, because Chadure he
had some tremendous performances and he was a trendy Heisman pick,
so much so that they're the most amount of tickets
on bet MGM up the close to the highest amount

(32:02):
of money. The second in line is barely behind Caleb Williams,
and he started off his odds were one twenty five
to one. They currently are two fifty to one. So
think about that. The most tickets on Shadeur Sanders, his
odds have doubled in the wrong way if you're betting
on him. So Pennix Junior has been extraordinary this year.

(32:24):
But to Jared's point, you look at the schedule at
usc Utah, at Oregon State, and then you get Washington
State to close it out. Those are four tricky games
in a row in conference, So if he doesn't stick
the dismount, it could open the door to somebody else,
And Shauduur Sanders shows how much things can change. But

(32:46):
right now Penix Junior's looking better than anybody else. That's
a candidate that's just subject to change going forward.

Speaker 7 (32:52):
Absolutely, and again it's not the Penix.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
It doesn't deserve to be the favorite, but he's favored
by too much because the market overreacted to what we
saw last week. So when you see that overreaction, your
first instinct should not be to buy bitcoin At sixty
thousand it should be to find another candidate that maybe
is undervalued right now, and look no further than the
guy who lost to Pennix Junior this week. And I

(33:16):
just think those odds are gonna come a lot tighter.
For example, let's say it is Washington and Oregon rematch
in the PAC twelve Championship game, and I think it's
obvious those are the two best teams in the PAC
twelve this year. Basically we saw on Saturday. So let's
just flash forward to a rematch between those teams in
the PAC twelve Championship game. Oregon probably is favored in
that game on a neutral So I think this is

(33:37):
a good bet to make right now where you're gonna
get some movement in your favor over the next few weeks,
and then you'll have a chance in that championship game
to come back and bet Penix Junior or just bet
Washington in the game, and then you can kind of
balance your action a little bit.

Speaker 7 (33:50):
But I put a unit on bo Knicks this week
thirty to one to win.

Speaker 6 (33:53):
I think that's smart money. You're not chasing anything there,
and I agree with the assessment. I forget which one
of you said, but about the PAC twelve. I think
you really have to sniff out when you're betting Heisman futures.
Where's the narrative this year and the narrative at the
quarterback position? There is no question it is the PAC twelve.

(34:14):
You can't look at any other conference and really discuss
quarterbacks outside the PAC twelve.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Hey Man fourteen to one. Drake May He's put up
a lot of numbers.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Yeah, him and Travis I think, yeah, those guys has
a shot. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
North Carolina undefeated, only face one ranked team from here
on out. You know, if they have a great showing
in the ACC Championship game, maybe maybe that's.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
A podium mixed penix and probably one of those ACC.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yes, all right, we got rich Orenberger, Penn State All American.
Jared Smith FSR betting analyst on Brian no coming up next.
We had a little Midwest flavor for the Parlay Pladder
last week. What kind of flavor are we going to
have this week? Hopefully a winning no flavor mixed with
him so close last week, very close, gotta get over

(35:00):
the finishing line. We'll see what Jared has cooked up
for us. It is Fox Sports Radios countdown to Kickoff
presented by BETMGM. Hi, this is Jay Glazer.

Speaker 9 (35:10):

BETMGM is also offering some of the best bet it's
in the market for touchdown props this season. Bet MGM,

(36:04):
the King of sportsbooks, the King of parlays. All right,
let's do this.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
Check this out.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Parlay Ladder.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
By the way, I think Chris is up to twenty bucks. Now,
that sounded like the Rich's matching forty forty.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Man, that's rage ye.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
You guys throwing that on as the music under like
he's gonna replace this music bed with Fenn State music.
All right, Jared Parlay ladder time? Man, what do you
have cooked.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Up for us?

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Guys?

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Last week? I thought we were home. I thought we
had it.

Speaker 7 (36:39):
I thought we nailed it.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
I thought we were gonna win two grand on that parlay.
Last week Michigan State Blue an eighteen point leading fourth
quarter against Rutgers Rutgers Osa Swan. We'll get to that
a little later in the show, but this week we're
going with another not quite as as lengthy of odds.
I'm I'm decreasing the riskiness of the parlay because we
gotta hit one of these. We gotta hit one this season,

(37:01):
and I really thought last week was it, but hopefully
it's this week.

Speaker 7 (37:03):
We'll start out with.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Flarida Atlantic, my former employer, first year head coach Tom Herman,
I think is really starting to figure things out.

Speaker 7 (37:11):
They've had a couple of really good performances in a row.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Go watch the game last week against Tulsa off the
buy six hundred yards of offense. I think they're starting
to figure out how to.

Speaker 7 (37:21):
Move the ball effectively down in Boca Raton.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
And they played a tougher schedule at Clemson, at Illinois,
and they get Utsa this week. Who second game or
third game back excuse me for Frank Harris the quarterback,
and this will be the toughest defense he's faced in
this return. Last two weeks against UAD and Temple not
a big test. I think they'll be tested today. FAU
a slight money line underdog. We will take them the
owls in the first leg. We'll go with Baylor on

(37:45):
the money line. This is a new Eastern start, so
get this in now. And we're fading Cincinnati. We're fading
all of the Big twelve teams that are new to
the Big Twelve. Cincinnati, USF, Houston and byu UCF excuse me,
are two and two and ten in Big Twelve plays
so far. And Cincinnati last week they were in the
parlay they lost to Iowa State. They're not a physical

(38:06):
enough team. I think to hang with Baylor coming off
the by getting healthy. I trust Dave Randa to get
this team right. Down the stretch. We'll take Baylor as
a short money line dog at Cincinnati. And finally, this
game is basically a pick them, but we get Yukon
at an evan odds flip, so it's still technically a
money line underdog here. But Yukon at home today against
USF Huskies also off the by after winning their first

(38:29):
game of the season at Rice two weeks ago. The
offense got rolling Taekwan Robson's former Penn State kids starting
to find a little bit of consistency there under center,
and USP's just been blasted fifty six points back to
back weeks against UAB and FAU defense trending down, cold,
rainy game in stores, don't light USF going up north.
So we'll take FAU, Yukon and Baylor on the money line.

(38:52):
This pays out about ten to one if you're parlaying together.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Ten to one, ten to one. Are you feeling okay, Jed.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
I know it's a lot.

Speaker 7 (39:02):
It's more mild than usual.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
More no. I'm usually a spicy.

Speaker 7 (39:05):
Sauce a guy in the morning. Now it's a little
more mild.

Speaker 6 (39:07):
It's gonna say, yeah, these these used to be pekante, Yeah, yeah, No,
it's still good though.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
I like where your head's at it is. It's crazy, man,
you talk about these four new schools in the Big
twelve collectively two and ten. Oh yeah, that is a
root awakening. When you go to a new conference, you
start getting your teeth kicked in. It's also a route awakening.
If another team joins your conference and is doing pretty well,
it's like, oh gosh, Yeah, it's funny how it works

(39:35):
both ways. Right there, Which leg do you feel most
confident about here, Jared, that's a good question.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
Yukon's had the most movement. So Yukon opened at three
and now it's down to plus one. Baylor is kind
of hovering between three and a half and three. I
bet Baylor plus three and a half as well, and
I think it closes at three. And Fau has kind
of been hovering at three all week. I think Fau
at Home. I know for Clark's a star, but I

(40:01):
think Fau at Home.

Speaker 7 (40:02):
Gets it done today. I like that spot for Tom Hermon.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
All right, coming up, it was a disaster last week,
but how about this week?

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Uh yes, what is going on? Getting set for a
huge day of college football action. Highlighted top ten matchup
as the Buckeyes host Penn State. Little Penn State money
coming in this morning. It's down to four. Ohio State
favored by four at some shops, some shops, not every shop,
some shops, so some Nitney Lyons money coming in. I

(40:46):
wonder how much USC money we'll see tonight. So this
is a night game. This is eight pm Eastern time
on Fox USC hosting Utah. So a disaster last week
for the Trojans. Just got crushed by Notre Dame, losing
by four touchdowns, and they're favored by seven tonight against Utah.

(41:08):
It's crazy what Utah has done without Cam Rising, their quarterback.
Haven't had them all year. And they had a safety
playing running back last week against Cal They're like, hey, hey, safety,
go back there and rush for a buck fifty eight
and two scores. Huh how does that sound? Yeah? Sos

(41:29):
they how they rebound terrible performance against Notre Dame. They
could not protect Caleb Williams. The defense actually played pretty
well against Notre Dame, it was just the offense was
a wreck. Got to see what they're able to do
against Utah, who's known for their defense.

Speaker 6 (41:45):
Yeah yeah, this Uh unfortunately for US defense. This is
a much different year than last year for Caleb Williams.
Look at them under pressure again. This is where the
cream rises to the in all levels of football, whether
you're looking at high school, whether you're looking at college,

(42:05):
whether you're looking at professional football. Which quarterbacks can handle pressure.
Last year, Caleb Williams won the Heisman because when he
was pressured, he was fantastic. He was first in the nation.
He was incredible when he was pressured. This year he's
almost in last place. He has two big time throws.

(42:26):
This is through the lens of Pro Football Focus. He
has two big time throws compared to thirteen turnover worthy
plays when under pressure this season. In twenty two, he
had fourteen big time throws to just four turnover worthy
throws when playing under pressure. He's a different guy this year.
He's trying to force things when he's pressured. He's not

(42:48):
getting rid of the ball. He's heaving the ball down field.

Speaker 4 (42:52):
Again.

Speaker 6 (42:52):
I think he's feeling the weight of the world on
his shoulders. He feels like he's the only reason, and
he's kind of right that he has a chance to win,
and he's playing like that. He has to get outside
of that mentality that he needs to make the play
to win the game on every single play, and he
needs to play within the confines and the construction of
the offense. I understand those viral moments where he's extending

(43:16):
the play and he's outside the pocket and he's throwing
back across his body to an open receiver who scores
after taking two steps, and people are like, my god,
he's a magician. How does he do it? The painted nails?
But when you throw back across your body, oftentimes bad
things happen. And we're seeing those bad things rear their
head a lot more this year than they did last year.

Speaker 3 (43:40):
Yeah, this is a very different year for Caleb. I
don't know what you're seeing rich or Brian, but I'm
seeing a lot of lazy throws, back foot, off re
off balance, not reading the right key, does things that
are simple fundamentals and in.

Speaker 7 (44:00):
The NFL that ain't gonna fly.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
Like, you can't be Patrick Mahomes on every play, like
you've got to play within the offense. And here was
the quote from Lincoln Riley this week, and I think
this quote was a veiled shot at Caleb Williams. Have
to get back to playing eleven man ball, not one
man ball, eleven man ball, and I think that is
going to be important this week because you're facing a

(44:23):
Utah team that is kind of playing in a phone boot, right,
And this kind of sums up how Utah season has went.
The first play of the season against Florida Money Parks
a seventy yard touchdown catch the first.

Speaker 7 (44:37):
Play of the season.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
Since that play, Money Parks has had less than one
hundred yards in five games. It just there hasn't been
a lot of explosion for this Utah offense. Cameron Rising
is not going to play the rest of the year.
I think that's blatantly obvious to everyone at this point,
and I think it makes.

Speaker 7 (44:55):
Sense for him and his future.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
Doesn't really make sense for Utah as a football team
their goals, but for Cam it makes sense. See on
Vaki Man ten and a half your hearts for Carrie
last week.

Speaker 7 (45:08):
Two touchdowns, a bit of a change up.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
More of a bruiser than what we're usually seeing in
Utah's backfield. My guess is that number gets cut dramatically
in half or even less this week because the dude's
still playing safety like he's basically a Travis Hunter out
there right now, playing both ways, and that's just not sustainable,
I think for Utah's offense, and Richie hit the nail

(45:32):
on the head with Caleb Williams and the turnover worthy plays.
That's exactly what I saw too when I was analyzing
his numbers last year. All thirteen of his turnover worthy
plays this season have come under pressure. Last year, he
committed only eleven turnover worthy plays in the whole season,
and four of the eleven came under pressure. So the
pressure is really aggravating the USC offense. You talk and

(45:55):
get pressure, But I have a feeling that this is
going to be a good performance across the board from
USC this week. The game script is key here too,
right guys. If USC jumps out to a lead, how
does you tell match what kind of offense do they
have to match? A fourteen or a seventeen point lead?
So I think this could be a good get right
spot for the Trojans today.

Speaker 2 (46:13):
It could be. And that's the thing. If you go
back to Caleb Williams. The off structure type stuff. I
think of it like drinking. You know, if you want
to do some creative extend to play, do some wild stuff.
I think that it makes sense to be a social drinker,
maybe just a little buzzed. You don't want to be comatosed, right, Like, no,

(46:34):
doing too many things off script and unstructured. And that's
the thing with Caleb. I think he's the most creative
quarterback in college football by far. And while that's a strength,
if he overdes it, it becomes a weakness. And so
Mahomes is the best example. Mahomes does some stuff off
script and is incredibly creative and does stuff no other

(46:57):
quarterback can do. But he does a lot of on
script stuff. He does a lot of structured stuff. And
you gotta see more of that from Caleb Williams because
it can't just be hey, you know, run to the
telephone pole and if you're not open, just kind of
run around, kind of mimic which direction I run in,
I might zig back the other way, so kind of

(47:17):
be ready for just too it's too sand lot. Yeah,
and like Jared said, that's definitely not gonna work in
the NFL, and he's having a hard time in college.
I don't want to overreact to one awful performance against
Notre Dame, but it still holds true even beyond last
week's performance. Is there needs to be more structure, not

(47:38):
one hundred percent. Still be creative, Still razzle, dazzle, do
all that crazy stuff. It just can't be as much
as it is right now because it's working against USC.

Speaker 6 (47:49):
Playing quarterback is similar to playing the game horse Haw's.
Everybody played that on a basketball court or in the driveway, right,
you know, hors Right, you shoot, you score. Somebody has
to match it. If they miss, they get a letter.
Whoever spells horse first loses. Well, it's usually the guys

(48:10):
who can sit at the free throw line or make
a jumper from twenty feet who win.

Speaker 4 (48:16):
Horse.

Speaker 6 (48:17):
It's the guy who's like all right, guys off the roof,
over the backboard, right off the rim, and then in
this time, those are the guys who lose. They get
bounced immediately. Not every shot needs to be a trick shot.
Sometimes you just have to hit the mid range jumper
consistently in order to win the game. So if I
am Lincoln Riley talking to my quarterback Caleb Williams. I'm saying, hey, listen,

(48:41):
we're not going off the roof. We're not banking it
off of the backboard and then doing the under the
legs layup. We're just going to play football this week
and we're gonna try not to get five letters.

Speaker 4 (48:52):
Thanks. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:54):
Another thing too, is look at Utah schedule and go
look at the quarterbacks and the passing games they faced.
Florida non existent, Baylor not really existent data and at
Blake Shapen in that game weaber State throw that game away.
UCLA freshman quarterback Dante more not a great spot in
Salt Lake City, obvious bad passing game at Oregon State

(49:17):
Silas Bolden at one hundred yards receiving in that game.
For Oregon State, I would say us, he's got like
seventeen Silas Boldens on their roster, and then Cal last
week it didn't really face much of a passing offense.
This is by far the best quarterback, the best offense
Utah has faced this year, and it's not even close.
Like I wouldn't even put any of those offenses even

(49:38):
in the realm Oregon State maybe with the running game,
but you want to talk about pressure on a secondary
Caleb Williams forces you to cover for like ten seconds,
and I just don't.

Speaker 7 (49:50):
Know if Utah is going to be able to hold
up today. So you got nice weather.

Speaker 3 (49:53):
I don't know what the weather is in La. I'm
assuming it's like what it is here in Vegas, which
is nice, flowery weather at the Rose Bowl today. Utah
facing a quarterback that is light years ahead of what
they faced all year. This is going to be a
rude awakening if and again, the game script is key here.
If you want to bet Utah in the first half,
I get it. But if USC gets out to a

(50:15):
lead here, I just don't see how Utah can can
can hold Serve. So I think at seven this is
a fair bet for the Trojans today.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Well, and that's the crazy thing, Jared, is if USC
gets off to a decent lead, you don't only have
to hold SERF. You got to break the USC right
like when USC has the ball and when they're serving,
you got to find a way to stop them. And
that's not the easiest thing. It's not just playing catchup
and scoring like Utah's offense. It's well, you got to

(50:47):
stop USC's offense, which is probably flowing at that point
as well, so it becomes a double challenge. And I'm
just curious how USC rebounds. I really am. And we've
seen this before. We've seen some teams. Notre Dame's a
decent example, right their opponent last week, Notre Dame had
a really disappointing game on the road against Louisville, and

(51:09):
then they came back and they smacked around USC by
four touchdowns. So can USC pull a Notre Dame right
this week because they got smacked around last week?

Speaker 4 (51:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (51:22):
I look at Utah and I see a team that
has all the capabilities that Notre Dame has to win
this football game. From this standpoint where you really nervous
about Notre Dame's offense entering that matchup, like really overpowering
USC's offense. No, you were talking about if you were
if you're angling toward or thinking Notre Dame had a

(51:44):
chance to win that game about their defense. And I
feel similarly to this Utah defense. They have a great
pass rush up front. They've got an edge guy and
by the name of Jonah Elis, who's got nine sacks
on the season. They win against one on one pass
blocking a bunch. I mean, they've got a fierce group

(52:05):
that USC has to contend with. Now, going back to
what we're just talking about with Caleb Williams, he's got
to try to play more point.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
Guard than you know. And one mixtape, you know, I mean.

Speaker 2 (52:18):
One, yeah, why chop it?

Speaker 3 (52:26):
I love.

Speaker 6 (52:29):
The and one mixtape. But I mean it's but it's true.
I mean, look, you gotta just go out there and
be boring, just be a facilitator for one game, and
I think and and frankly, he'll learn a lot from
that experience because people will still be shouting your names
from the rooftops if you're if you're throwing for three
hundred and fifty yards and three touchdowns and it looks

(52:50):
boring because like you guys just both alluded to with
the Patrick Mahomes comparisons, Patrick Mahomes, Yes, he can make
a five yard throw with his left hand running toward
the sideline and it'll make Sports Center. But guess what
those other twenty nine throws look like. They look like
routine throws. So just remember that most of quarterback play

(53:14):
is extremely boring. And you're a really good quarterback and
you're gonna be just fine. But he's got to rein
it in and Utah has to replicate what Notre Dame did.

Speaker 4 (53:23):
So, yeah, this.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
Feels like a fair spread.

Speaker 6 (53:26):
But you could make an argument for the US too,
because their pass rush is fierce.

Speaker 3 (53:31):
Well, here's the here's the reason why I think they'll
be margin in this game. Utah played USC twice last year. Brian,
we watched one of the games. Yeah, that's right at
the USC.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
Yeah, he had the hammy, he had the hamm.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
Yeah, this feels like a game where if USC. Now,
maybe the game script doesn't work out this way, maybe
Caleb Williams makes a mistake early, the pressure, the spotlight,
he's starting to feel himself a little bit, and he's
AH and he forces it and he makes some bad plays.
But let's say it doesn't start that way. Let's say

(54:05):
it starts average for both teams, and then later in
the game USC is starting to lean on Utah a
little bit and you can tell that they just don't
have enough offense to keep up. Do you think they're
gonna be on that sideline thinking themselves, Yeah, let's let's
go easy on the Utes today. No, this is going
to be a kill shot because of what happened lat year.
They mae him twice last year, so and the first
game was a thriller in Salt Lake City, back and forth,

(54:28):
Utah needed a two point conversion late to win.

Speaker 7 (54:30):
I mean, I think this game, if USC can.

Speaker 3 (54:34):
Create margin in this game, if their offense is back
in sync today, and if their defense is holding a
very pedestrian Utah offense to what we've seen this year,
which is a very average output, I don't think USC
is gonna hold back and off the loss off a
blowout loss even makes it more okay. I think margin
makes more sense to me in this game than back

(54:55):
and forth. Utah keeps it close and then maybe USC
wins it late. If the Trojans can create some distance here,
they're gonna step on the huge throats.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
By the way super fast. It's amazing how quickly things
changing college football. Think about last year at Utah, cam
Rising playing he had the winning score, and also Dalton Kincaid,
who went freaking crazy in that game, who's now with
the Buffalo Bills. It's amazing that Utah's offense. I don't

(55:23):
think they're gonna resemble that game in Utah last year,
even against the USC's defense. But that's just the way
it goes in college football. Things changed very quickly, hey,
from live betting to player props. Betmgm has a variety

Yeah.

Yeah, it's a big Yeah it is, yeah, absolutely, I'm

beverage credits. All right, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (57:21):
Follow the money, real good money.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
We are following the money and the advice of one
Seamous McGee, team lead of Sports Trading at BEDMGM. Good
morning to you, Seamus. Let's dive right on in here.
Number seven Penn State against number three, Ohio State. What's
the which side is the money on? As we ramp
up toward kickoff, and I don't know, you have a

(57:44):
gut feeling about how this game might play out there?

Speaker 10 (57:48):
Hey guys, gonna be back. Yeah, A lot of money
coming in obviously on this game is the biggest game.

Speaker 3 (57:53):
Of the weekend.

Speaker 10 (57:55):
A lot of coming in, A lot more money coming
in on a hot skin of the money line, probably
in a lot of parlays were looking at. But on
the spread four and a half four. I mean, it
took a little bit of sharp money today to move
this from Ohio State minus four and a half to
minus four. But it's pretty dead even on the spreads.
Lots of different opinions on who's going to cover this one,

(58:16):
and in terms of how I think the game is
going to pay, I think it's gonna be a low
scoring affair. It's two really really good defenses. I'm not
really sold on the Ohio States offense the past few
weeks in Drew Aller hasn't been spectacular, anything notable in
my opinion this year, So I could see like a
low scoring slug fest here.

Speaker 3 (58:38):
Seamus. It's interesting when we look at a full game
total of forty five and a half, and then you
see the first half at twenty one and a half.
And I'm no math major, but that's less than half
of what the first half total is. When you see that,
it's obvious that the money is on the first half
under right.

Speaker 10 (58:56):
Yeah, definitely more so in this game than others. Yeah,
I mean, just the way these two teams have started
this year, That's what the money's been telling us this week,
is that the first half is definitely going to be
a tight affair.

Speaker 6 (59:10):
Air Force heading on the road to Annapolis facing Navy.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
How well do these legs of.

Speaker 6 (59:17):
The Commander in Chief trophy games Doe at the window?
Does this force a lot of handle?

Speaker 4 (59:23):
Air Force?

Speaker 6 (59:23):
By the way, favored by ten I'm just curious, are
people interested in these games in terms of betting stakes
or is this just more the majesty of the matchup.

Speaker 10 (59:34):
Of any military game that we offer. These Service Academy
exclusive games definitely attract the most handled for each of
the three schools, and for most of the reason is
everybody wants to bet the under. I mean, these all
these go under. We opened this thirty four and a half,
took some pros and Joe's money down to thirty three

(59:56):
and a half. But literally, just now we've got some
sharp money to push back to a flat thirty four.
So we'll see and it's pretty dead even split as
well and over under thirty three and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
Wow, how about I love giving you a blank canvas
over here, Seamus. You know, instead of asking about one
particular game, what is the matchup or the line combination
of both that you find to be the most interesting.

Speaker 10 (01:00:21):
While I was looking at today, just seeing a chick
in the early slate, see with to what we're gonna
end up meeting at nude, everyone is spending Oklahoma today.
That right now looks like our biggest need for at
least for the early slate if we're any You see
FLUS seventeen and a half pretty big. The summer feels
a little big for a team like UCF. But Oklahoma

(01:00:41):
coming off ofok By, I think a lot of people
seem maybe they're sold on the Sooners after that big
win over Texas. But everyone is spending Oklahoma today.

Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
You know, it's funny because that that was one that
popped up on my sheet. But the reason that I
stayed off at Seamus, is because I don't trust these
non Big twelve teams, teams you know, UCF BYU and
Cincinnati on fading again today against the big boys in
the Big twelve, because they've been pushed around so far.
But maybe that number is big enough for the Golden Knights,
not the Golden Knights, even though they wear gold. The

(01:01:13):
Golden Knights are here in town. All right, let's let's
move on to one of the bigger games of the day.
I kind of like Bama in this spot today. I
think at home against this Joe Milton led Tennessee offense,
which does not look like the offense of last year.

Speaker 7 (01:01:27):
It's a revenge game for Bama.

Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
They got I mean that game last year at Rocky
Top was a thriller, and I think they're going to
get some back this in this spot.

Speaker 7 (01:01:37):
What's the money saying with Bama and Tennessee.

Speaker 10 (01:01:39):
Today, Lots of Bama money this week. We did open
this at nine and a half, It did get short
money moved it down at eight and a half. But
right now we're gonna need the balls, which is a
far cry from last year where Kinna See winning that
game out right against him was one of our worst
results of the season last season, Wow, what are.

Speaker 4 (01:01:59):
The hardest games to handicap in your opinion? You know?
Is it? Is it?

Speaker 6 (01:02:03):
Like? I know that you like to feast on FCS
matchups against Power five programs, But I mean when, when
when Vegas or anybody who's involved in this needs to
put a number on the game. What's the most challenging
type of matchup to put a number on.

Speaker 10 (01:02:21):
It's gotta be some of the lower Group of five games,
So like matching really tough. Literally anything happens in those games,
even the we're starting to see in the Conference USA
mid week games. It's uh, those are definitely the hardest ones.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
So where are you going this week? Are you going Maction?
Are you going Sunbelt? You going FCS? What's to play
for you? Seamus?

Speaker 10 (01:02:46):
We had a huge, huge result last week with the
marish Red Boxes, so I got it sick with the
home dogs in the FCS. Sacred Heart is playing their
third straight road game, one of the big Sacred Hearts,
third straight road game. They've lost five straight stone Hills
at home. Give me the stone Hill Skyhawks on the

(01:03:07):
money line around one and a half. There's a rogue
three out there. You can somehow find at in far
away places. But yeah, these lines usually don't go up
until like a couple hours, maybe two and a half
hours before kickoffs, so they have to wait for a
line to come up with whatever book you're betting on.
So when that comes up, we're taking the Skyhawks money line.

Speaker 4 (01:03:31):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
I just have to ask, what is it about these
lower tiered games that's your specialty? You know what I mean? Like,
if you have a high success rate with these random games,
how does that happen? Seamus?

Speaker 10 (01:03:48):
Well, I usually pick a few games that like stand
out and like this one, like two you know, worst
games in the FCS. There's not a lot of information
going right around about I don't think a single book
maker can tell you three players on either.

Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
No shot a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
I don't eve think the coaches can some weeks.

Speaker 10 (01:04:09):
And the other thing that you're leaving out is you
have to be extremely lucky.

Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
Well, hey man, you got that box checked for the
most part.

Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
Better to be lucky than good is what.

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
I always absolutely Well, hey, Seamus, hope you enjoy all
the ball today. Man, thanks for the time. We'll catch
you soon.

Speaker 10 (01:04:29):
Thanks guys.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
There he is Seamous McGee.

Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Stone Hill baby Stone Hill.

Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
What do you call them, the sky Foxes? Sky Foxes,
So it's the Red Foxes. Now the sky fox we're
going to in the Fox group. Seamus McGee, team lead
of sports trading at BETMGM. I don't think that the
next person can take over until they have a high
success rate betting, like Marist or something, you know what

(01:04:54):
I mean. It's just like, no, no, no, you can't. You
can't take this role. You're not ready. Just yeah, you're
still in the apprenticeship phase.

Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
We've got Isaac lowen Kron. He's no apprentice. He has
graduated to head hon show is actually his title. He's
got the latest fourth what's going on?

Speaker 8 (01:05:11):
I low didn't Rick Smith's play his college basketball at
Merist College?

Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Probably?

Speaker 8 (01:05:18):
Yeah, that's right, seven feet four inches tall. Rick Smith's
back in the day. Let's go back in the day too. Yesterday,
in Game five of the American League Championship Series, the
Texas Rangers holding a four to two lead over the
Houston Astros top of the ninthentic but nobody out to
a board and Jose Altuove at the plate.

Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
The Astros down four to two the pitch and al
two they hits it in the air pretty deep to left.

Speaker 4 (01:05:43):
Carteris is back at.

Speaker 11 (01:05:45):
The wall leaves and it is gone. It's gone. It's gone.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
It's gone.

Speaker 11 (01:05:51):
Ozil twove get the Astros a five to four.

Speaker 8 (01:05:55):
Lean that will be the final of the call on
KBM SO Houston leads the three games to two. In
Game four the National League Championship Series on Friday night,
the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied from a five to two seventh
inning deficit to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies six to five,
tying that series at two games a piece. In the NFL,
the Pittsburgh Steelers today plays tight end pat Freyremouth on

(01:06:18):
injured reserve with a hamstring injury and activated receiver Deontay
Johnson from injured reserve. Scary story TMZ reporting the Los
Angeles Rams receiver DeMarcus Robinson is okay after being robbed
at gunpoint early Friday morning of over one hundred thousand
dollars worth of jewelry outside of a Los Angeles area hotel.

(01:06:39):
And finally, an NBA preseason action on Friday night, the
San Antonio Spurs what at Golden State one twenty two
to one seventeen victor Wembin Yama nineteen points and five
block shots in only twenty one minutes. Fellas back to you, Thank.

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
You, I Low. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to
Kickoff presented by BEDMGM. BETMGM is now available under one
wallet in select states. For example, if you're in the
DMV area, no need to worry about making separate accounts
for DC, Maryland and Virginia when crossing state borders. Simply
simply log in to your existing account instead of creating

(01:07:15):
a new one. All right, how about this taste the
SEC matchup Tennessee at Alabama, And Jared, you touched on
this when we were talking to Seamus. You think about
last year's game, just a classic, but this Tennessee offense
so far cry from what Hendon Hooker and the guys

(01:07:35):
were doing last year and a just an unbelievable finish
against Alabama and they win last second field goal, the
whole thing, and this year, Joe Milton in company, it's
it's not the same vibe. Alabama survived last week against Arkansas,

(01:07:57):
so this is sure a revenge game, but man, the
results for Alabama's offense and going up against the Tennessee
defense that has been way better than last year. It's
been role reversal for Tennessee. Their offense is at nearly
is good, their defense is way better. So it's just
a completely flip flop scenario for Tennessee from this year

(01:08:19):
compared to last year.

Speaker 6 (01:08:24):
When you think about the Alabama Crimson Tide, what is
the first and most indelible picture that hits you, like
right in the head, like right off the top of
your head, like when you think about the Alabama Crimson defense.

Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
Defense?

Speaker 6 (01:08:38):
Yeah, okay, defense, And it's anonymous with Nick Sabin. And
I feel like one of the things that Saban does
is and I know because he fell off of the
Bill Belichick coaching tree, and I know how you know
the similarities, especially when you watched that mashup that ESPN

(01:08:59):
did where they're both being interviewed and discussing their time
as coaching together and coaching apart from one another. These defenses,
these teams that Nick Saban has put out, they're fueled
by two things. Obviously playing mistake free football and elite
level of defense, but also revenge.

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
Can't I can't explain to you.

Speaker 6 (01:09:21):
How perfectly Bill Belichick worked the psychology. When I was
a Patriot player, we hated the Jets. We hated the Jets.
The Jets were actually pretty good when I was there.
Rex Ryan had that thing hum and Mark Sanchez was
a good enough quarterback. Their run game was unstoppable with

(01:09:42):
that great offensive line, and Sanchez just had to do
enough every game right, He had to hit on a
couple of big time play action throws for the Jets
to have a chance. And he was the only quarterback
I think in Jets' history to go to back to
back AFC Championship games.

Speaker 4 (01:09:56):
If I have that stat right.

Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
You are correct.

Speaker 6 (01:09:58):
It was. It was a great time to be a
Jets fan. It was an awful time to be an
AFC East Division rival of the Jets because that defense
was confusing and it was revved up to play, and
the only way that Bill Belichick could make it an

(01:10:20):
even matchup for us was to make us angry. And
so the bulletin board material and the ability to stir
things up.

Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Now.

Speaker 6 (01:10:29):
He did it in a way very similar to the
dry sensibilities of Nick Saban, who I think shows a
little bit more personality.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
He did it in a way where he.

Speaker 6 (01:10:38):
Made it incumbent upon you to even the score, like
it wasn't about him.

Speaker 4 (01:10:44):
He's not in the fight.

Speaker 6 (01:10:45):
This is this is an embarrassment to you, the things
that are being said by the Jets players.

Speaker 4 (01:10:50):
Trust me when I tell you this.

Speaker 6 (01:10:53):
Nick Saban was surprised and upset by what happened against
Tennessee last year. If there's, if there's a sure bet
than this Alabama team coming out pissed and angry and
Tennessee balls entering a hornet's net more so than this
hornet's nest more so than this week, and I can't
name one. I think this is going to be one

(01:11:14):
of those classic college football beatdowns because I think emotion
is going to rule the day here.

Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
I'm with you.

Speaker 7 (01:11:22):
I bet Bama late eight and a half earlier this week.

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
I gave it out as our social play on Friday
for the Fox Sports radio feed.

Speaker 7 (01:11:29):
I think so.

Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Just first glance at Tennessee schedule, They've played one road
game all year. They played five games in Knoxville, they've
won all five. They've gone on the road once to
Gainesville and they got spanked. They got run all over
in that game. And I don't think Alabama's offense is
very sophisticated. I think it's Jalen Milroe on some deep throws,
Jalen Milroe, mobility, Jalen Milroe trying not to make the

(01:11:53):
big mistake. It's not like Alabama is gonna drop a
fifty burger on Tennessee because their offense is really good.
I think this is what Rich alluded to. This is
a physical, angry football team that frankly has been the
narrative on Alabama's down this year, and I don't know why.
I mean, they're six and one, They've got everything to
play for in front of them. If they went out,

(01:12:15):
they'll be in the SEC Championship game. But yet the
narrative on Bama's kind of down, and it's because they
lost their big game against Texas. It's because they haven't
looked overly dominant. They're not covering spreads, and I understand
why that would frustrate a lot of players inside that
locker room, because they hear it more than any other team,
because they are Alabama and now they get a chance

(01:12:36):
to exercise some demons. And if you want to talk
about how Tennessee's offense has changed dramatically from last year,
look no further than what Joe Milton's done throwing the
ball deep. Last year, Hendon Hooker had one of the
best deep ball accuracy rates in the country and off
play action seventy percent completion rate, eighteen touchdowns, one pick.

(01:13:00):
This year, Joe Milton can't complete a pass twenty yards
or more down the field.

Speaker 7 (01:13:05):
He was zero for five last week against A.

Speaker 3 (01:13:06):
And M in that category, and play action just four
for twelve off play action last week against Texas A
and M and their beleaguered secondary bam against Malachi Moore
back this week, one of the best defensive players in
the country. He did not play last week with an
ankle injury. There are just too many check marks in
the Alabama boxes this week for me to even consider Tennessee.

(01:13:28):
The fact that it's on the road just makes it
even sweeter Tuscaloose. So this feels like a roll tie
kind of game.

Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
All right, We've got rich oron Berger, Penn State All American,

Speaker 6 (01:14:58):
Oh right, I saw the I think you missed it.
I think you missed it every time. You know, no, no, no,
they're smelling.

Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
Peas you were.

Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
It's state.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
It's very different state. It's very very different copyright. Got
sure you have your signature thing over there, my bad.

Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
Get on board, Brian.

Speaker 7 (01:15:20):
This is Nitney Nation today.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
Baby, Yeah, okay, pro you got any Nitney Lions. You're
gonna go all in on Drew Aller.

Speaker 6 (01:15:30):
Today, staying away from the holler props.

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
I'm actually going with Caleb Williams. You have an opportunity.

Speaker 6 (01:15:39):
To buy low on Caleb Williams passing touchdowns this season.

Speaker 4 (01:15:43):
I didn't think we would be able to say that
this year, but.

Speaker 6 (01:15:47):
Two and a half he threw eight against the Utes
last season. This is, like I said, a by low moment.
So get well, the getting's good. I'll take the over
on the two and a half passing touchdowns there, and
I'm gonna stay with a quarterback here, Spencer Rattler, South
Carolina quarterback. He's playing against a red hot Missouri offense.

(01:16:08):
Brady Cook on the other side of this matchup is
a top twenty five quarterback in every single statistical category.

Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
But if you haven't payn attention.

Speaker 6 (01:16:17):
Spencer Rattler is quietly crushing it this year, averaging two
to eighty seven through the air. He's got eleven touchdowns,
only three picks. He's completing at a seventy three plus
percentage rating on his completion percentage. So yeah, give me
Spencer Rattler in this one over the two hundred and
seventy and a hook.

Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
I like it. I'm going off the radar here, and
I never thought I would ever bet on a Georgia
Tech quarterback to go over his passing yards problem. Wow, Okay,
because you think historically they're an option offense, but they're
changing that offense and it's pretty noticeable. Haines King, Texas
A and m transfer has been chucking it all over

(01:16:58):
the arc for this Georgia Tech team. He's averaging thirty
two attempts per game and he's coming off. So Georgia
tacks off the by Remember that game against Miami Crazy
game two weeks ago. Only threw for one hundred and
fifty one yards in that game. But prior to that
three forty eight, three h seven, three thirteen against Louisville,
I mean, he's had some really big time throwing games

(01:17:19):
this year and Boston College can't defend the pass.

Speaker 7 (01:17:21):
They're one of the worst in the country at defending
the pass.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
So I think Haynes King two sixty seven and a
half will go over passing yards today, and then I think,
if you want to go props in the Penn State
Ohio State game, guys, I think he just go under
across the board. How about Kyle McCord lost money on
his under one and a half passing touchdowns prop. Now,
he did throw three last week against Purdue, but game

(01:17:44):
total of this game's forty five. So if there's only
gonna be three touchdowns score for Ohio State, I'll bank
on two out of the three coming on the ground
here and we'll go under one and a half passing
touchdowns for kamic cord at plus money.

Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Not a bad friends there. Okay, I'm gonna look at
UCF not exactly crushing it in Big twelve play, but
Oklahoma's pass defense is okay and plumby over there. UCF
quarterback is passing totals at one ninety nine and a half.
I think he can get to two hundred yards passing.
They're going to be playing from behind most likely, so

(01:18:20):
a lot of passing opportunities throughout the game, and I
just don't think Oklahoma is good enough to keep him
under two hundred. I've been proven wrong before. Maybe this
is another instance here, but I like Plumbley to sneak
over one ninety nine and a half against the Sooners
today because I think they'll be trailing and they gotta
throw it, So I'll go with that one.

Speaker 4 (01:18:41):
I like it. Yeah, Yeah, we crushed it today.

Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
I have nothing else in the prop market today, with
the exception of Drew Aller throwing for five hundred yards.

Speaker 6 (01:18:50):
I'm actually they're kind of shocked by Caleb Williams win
with two and a half passing touchdowns. I feel like
this is the game where I know we were talking
about it. He can't try to go off, but he's
gonna go off.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
I love I would love what the alternate yardage odds
would be for Aller throwing for five.

Speaker 12 (01:19:08):
Hundred yards, probably plus a million if there's no shot
he gets top two.

Speaker 7 (01:19:13):
I think two hundred is a good day for him
to do.

Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
All right, come it up next, the game of the
day and alleged cheating scoundrels.

Speaker 1 (01:19:22):

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Oh, we are less than an hour away from kickoff.
Over here, we will circle back to the matchup of
the day Top ten showdown Penn State and Ohio State.
But let's start off this hour with a little bit
of sign stealing accusations, shall we. You got the Michigan Wolverines.
They have been accused of stealing signs. This is a

(01:19:56):
no no, you can't go on the road, which mis
has been accused of doing and scout future opponents. It
is against the rules. This has been put in play
since nineteen ninety four, and this is what Michigan is
accused of. Now, they did suspend a staffer that might
have been on the road, might not have been. Jim

(01:20:17):
Harbo of course, says, I don't know anything. I don't
know what's going on over here. What sign stealing us
guys on the road news to me. That is what
he's saying here. But this is obviously the NCAA saying,
Oh yeah, Jim Harbaugh, the guy who lied to us
and we had this whole thing. Is he suspended for

(01:20:38):
four games. Is he suspended for three games at the
beginning of the year because of recruiting improprieties. There's no
doubt they took a closer look because they have an
axe to freaking grind over here.

Speaker 6 (01:20:51):
Yeah, yeah, I look at I think it was Colin
Coward this week who was talking about how this has
the same feels as Pete Carroll during the end times
or his end times at USC. You know, all of
a sudden, then c double A starts doing this thing

(01:21:13):
where they're like, hey, thank you for your time. You
can head out now. And you know, Pete Carroll and
Jim Harbaugh both are kind of like, well, no, no, no,
I mean things are going very well, I would say, swimmingly.
Look at our recruiting, and you know, Michigan's on top
again and and and we're stealing recruits out of Ohio

(01:21:34):
from Ohio State and Michigan State has zero oxygen. We're
just snuffing them out. And look look at what they
have going on. I mean, don't look at it, look
at what Look at what's going on across the you know,
the fence in in Lansing. Keep keep your nose out.
Ann Arbor and then cuble A is.

Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
Going no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 6 (01:21:54):
We we know there's more to this than what's actually
being reported, and so we're gonna slap you on the
wrist and just let you understand that we're we're hot
on your trail, Jim. And so Pete Carroll left and
he went to Seattle, and obviously the rest is history there.
I I sort of feel like there's good, there's an

(01:22:15):
exit plan here, and I know he's a Michigan man
and I know that I know that that he loves
it there, and I don't know exactly when the date is,
but I agree with that assessment. I think that this
is both then this is the n c double A
telling him it's time and Jim Harbaugh giving us all
indications that it's time because last offseason with the coaching

(01:22:39):
carousel or two offseasons ago, his name was one of
the hot items coming out of college football to presumably
take one of the openings in the NFL. And I
think maybe this offseason that that that actually occurs.

Speaker 3 (01:22:54):
Yeah, in terms of what this means for the like
college football landscape, nothing, I think it's a nothing burger.
It doesn't affect how I feel about Michigan's success lately
doesn't affect how I feel about what they've done on
the field. This is the NC DOUBLEA versus coach Arbaugh

(01:23:15):
and and it's just a battle back and forth. I
don't know who's going to win that battle. Frankly, I
think coach Arbo's got a little sway here. He might
end up winning, and he might end up staying at
Michigan for for many years to come. But the fact
that they sent this and I was reading the story
this week. It was on Yahoo Sports that broke it.
I think it was Dan Wetzel who broke it.

Speaker 7 (01:23:38):
And it was a.

Speaker 3 (01:23:39):
It was it was like an It's like an intern
that they sent ahead to these games. And he actually
kind of outed himself by posting some of his strategic
game planning on LinkedIn, and I think that's probably how
the NCUBLEA found him. And it just it's looking more
like the NC double A is trying everything to get

(01:24:03):
under harbuss skin and to get him to do something
more egregious that would be grounds for a dismissal. But
this is this is nothing like this story to me
should die like it doesn't. It doesn't matter in the
grand scheme of college football because everyone probably does this
to some capacity. It's not an elaborate scheme, like they

(01:24:27):
sent one guy ahead to games to watch, Like it's
not a huge deal. Now, is it officially breaking the
letter of the law. Yes, but it's like going forty
in a thirty five. If you get caught speeding, you're
not gonna get your license suspended. You're just gonna you know,
the CoP's gonna make you pay a fine and you're
gonna move on with your life.

Speaker 7 (01:24:43):
And I think that's where this is.

Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
But Michigan and Jim Arbaugh and the NCAA, like they've
got this beef and I don't know how it's gonna end.
But clearly this is a blown way out of abortion
because the story to me again is a big nothing burger.

Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
Well, I think it shows the initial story. Why man
just admit you did something wrong the first time, right,
Like that's the thing is do you minimize drama or
do you create drama? And Jim Harbaugh created drama the
first time where he was just lying. He just lied

(01:25:16):
to the NCAA and they're like, oh, okay, you just
think you're gonna do that, And we're just gonna go
off into the distance like no, no, they're gonna come
back right at him. So I think a lot of
this and how you're talking about it, some people perceive
this as being petty. There's no doubt this is connected
to the first thing that went wrong in the office, COVID.

Speaker 4 (01:25:37):
Yeah, the COVID investigation thing.

Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
Absolutely, absolutely it is.

Speaker 3 (01:25:40):
I mean, the guy a person of interest, this Connor
Stallion's guy. Like you're making it like he committed some
crime somewhere, like he was literally just doing his job,
Like I'm reading the story person of interest in quotes.

Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
Like come on, well, my favorite part of this story
was that they're playing Michigan State. And so, upon hearing
about this the alleged signs stealing system there with the Wolverines,
the Spartans told the NC double A they were considering
not playing this weekend's get out of here. Let me
tell you, I'll tell you what real fast. Yeah, yeah,

(01:26:13):
that just shows you where Sparty is. Let's say let's
say Sparti is the number two ranked team and Sparta
is favored by twenty four points. Do you think they're
kicking around the idea of not playing the joke?

Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
Oh, listen.

Speaker 6 (01:26:26):
Also like the whole, the whole, like idea of well, well,
who was the whistleblower? Right, like who was the person
or people who decided we have this information, we need
to send it to the NC double A so they
look into this. The answer is now we know, now,

(01:26:47):
we know, Like you've outed yourself, Michigan State, we get it.
It's sad. It's a state of affairs that nobody wants.
In college football or in sports. We like parody, as
sports fans are, right, at least we suggest we like parody.
I think when there is a team or teams on
top of everybody else, subjugating the rest of the field,

(01:27:08):
I think we actually do like that better, but we
fail to admit it because it gives you a villain.
Like the Golden State Warriors. They have a likable cast
of characters outside of Draymond Green, but because they have
Draymond Green, and because he can say the thing that
greats on fan bases and there's like, ooh, I just
hate that guy. Like the Patriots, Bill Belichick, the Evil Empire.

(01:27:28):
Twenty years of success in the NFL. People are relishing
in their downfall right now, that is exactly what fans
want and they don't realize it, but Michigan State doesn't
want that. Michigan State, while there isn't parody. What does
this mean? They have zero life, They're not able to
recruit their state. Nobody wants to go to Lansing. They

(01:27:49):
all want to go to ann Arbor. And the fact
that they came out this week and said, Hm, we
were considering not even playing because that's not fair, Well,
guess what you've outed yourself this report. I'm guessing again
this is my own subjective opinion and belief. This report

(01:28:09):
started with somebody at Michigan State tipping off the NCAA
a couple weeks ago, feeding them who they thought the
analyst in turn was who's being.

Speaker 4 (01:28:19):
Paid fifty five thousand dollars.

Speaker 6 (01:28:21):
It's a pretty good amount of money for an intern
a head to games to scout signals. It's it's I mean,
it's connect the dots A to B. Sorry, SPARTI, you're
caught and you look foolish to me.

Speaker 3 (01:28:34):
It was Ross Dellinger, by the way, not Dan Westill.
Sorry I mean to miss misquote the article there. He's
the one that broke the story on Friday yesterday.

Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
So it.

Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
I went.

Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
When I was digging into it, it seemed like one
of those stories where I was waiting, all right, well,
what do they really do? Like he just sent this
guy to a bunch of games of future teams, and
I'll kick it back to you Rich because you might
be able to I can't answer this question. How many
times did you change your signals throughout the course of
a season?

Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
Guess what?

Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
A lot?

Speaker 6 (01:29:06):
And you know, you know when you change them the most,
when you knew that you were facing a team that
did this, that had advanced scouts. That And by the way,
if you're smart enough as a coach and a football program,
you can actually use that to your advantage because you
can use dummy signs.

Speaker 4 (01:29:25):
So if it's hand.

Speaker 6 (01:29:26):
Signals that you're worried about, you can use dummy hand
signals to get defenses thinking that they're in the correct call,
and all of a sudden you gash them because you
have your your cover two beaters and you know that's
exactly what they're going to go into, or they think
they know that this hand signal means blitz and meanwhile
you're dropping eight and all of a sudden, a quarterback

(01:29:46):
has nowhere to go with the football. Like if it's
hand signals, if it's code words, you can change these
things up. You can use dummy calls, and you can
actually make you can turn.

Speaker 4 (01:29:56):
What would be perceived as this this.

Speaker 6 (01:29:59):
Unbelo believable advantage from Michigan toward your favor All you
gotta do is just shut up about it. Like you
have the information that they're stealing signals. So what you
do is you get into the lab and you find
a way to make it so they.

Speaker 4 (01:30:14):
Can't steal signals from you.

Speaker 6 (01:30:16):
I know that's a ridiculous thought, but it is possible.
And unless they are specifically coming to your practices and
they have an inside man at your practices, well then
they're not doing anything different than anybody else sitting in
the stands can do.

Speaker 3 (01:30:31):
And here's the quote from the article, from a Big
ten coach quote. We were told to be careful because
they had a guy who could pick plays. It was
too late in the week to change our signals, but
another staff did tell us about this guy, Stallion. So
this has been like common knowledge, like Michigan does this
the week before you play Michigan, change up your signals.
And I understand if you are breaking the letter of

(01:30:55):
the law, and apparently this is again and it's like
a misdemeanor. They just, you know, towing the line between
legal and illegal. In terms of the NCAA bylaws was
sign stealing and this was something that was legal years
ago and then it was changed. And there's a lot
of gray area here. Every team does this in some capacity.
It's like the Patriots with the spygate stuff. Every team

(01:31:18):
does that in some capacity. Bill just took it to
another level.

Speaker 7 (01:31:21):
So it was when I read this yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
I was laughing to myself because I was like, man,
everyone's just trying to get in on Jim Harball these days,
and I think that's what this is more than an
actual scandal.

Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
Yeah, it's they don't like the guy exactly. He gave
him a reason to not like them, and that's on
him too, right, Like it would have been better just
to get out in front of this, Hey I misled you,
my bad, but he's too proud to do that. It's ego,
that's really what it came down to. So we'll see
how much this follows them around. I think it's funny

(01:31:54):
how the Patriots have all this success and spygate is
built up to be the ultimate advantage. It is the
ultimate advantage of all time. And then Michigan does something
similar and it's like, shrug your shoulders. Everybody does this
big deal. It's just so funny how it changes from
one to the other.

Speaker 4 (01:32:12):
Well, and also it's.

Speaker 6 (01:32:12):
The first through the wall, right, like whenever it's the
first time we hear something like this. Like again, this
was something that everybody in football knew about, right And
by the way, New England, I promise you was not
the only one doing this, because when we prepared for
teams that did this, we would change our signals and.

Speaker 2 (01:32:31):
They put out a memo. That's the whole thing. The
NFL put a memo out of like hey, guys, knock
it off. Like do you think if it was the
ultimate advantage, they would have just put out a memo like, hey,
let's knock this off, all right, Like come.

Speaker 4 (01:32:44):
On, man.

Speaker 3 (01:32:45):
And the NFL doesn't like Belichick that much either. I mean,
I'm assuming that there's probably some bad blood over the
years that's built up there, So listen, I don't want
to get back to the historical stuff with this, but
when I read this story, I was just like, what
are we doing here, Guys like, this is not me.

Speaker 6 (01:33:00):
I mean, this is the same thing with the Astros,
like everybody, every time, it's synonymous. Now Astros cheeters like
it is. It's all you hear. Meanwhile, same thing happened
in Major League Baseball. They sent out a memo to
all thirty clubs. They said, hey, we know what you're doing,
and naughty, naughty, don't do it anymore. You're using technology

(01:33:21):
to steal signs and you're communicating in some way with
the players on the field what's coming next. We see it,
We see what you're doing. I mean, and I'm not
going to out anybody in particular, but let's put it
this way.

Speaker 4 (01:33:34):
I heard from.

Speaker 6 (01:33:35):
Specific sources at different franchises that this was happening at
at least seven teams across Major League Baseball. And that's
just what I've That's just what me. Somebody who used
to play in the NFL heard through second parties, Like,
let's face it, every single team, to some margin or

(01:33:55):
another was doing this. And maybe Houston was doing it
the best, or maybe they just had the best players
doing it that year. I don't know, but I know
that this is not as big of a deal as
everybody makes it out to be. And it's been an
unspoken thing in sports forever and people are just saying
the quiet part's out loud now and everybody's uncomfortable with it.

(01:34:16):
It's just a part of the game. It's gamesmanship.

Speaker 7 (01:34:19):
If you ain't cheat and you ain't winning, right to.

Speaker 4 (01:34:21):
A greater or lesser extent, that is accurate.

Speaker 3 (01:34:24):
I mean, you always have to try to find an edge.
I think it's more about is your edge now becoming
a public nuisance? And I think the fact that in
this article other coaches in the Big Ten were already
aware of this and scheming against it. It's kind of
just part of the game plan the week before you

(01:34:46):
play Michigan, you better change your signs. If you don't,
that's on you. Like if you're going to take stale
signals into a game against Michigan. It is common knowledge
amongst the Big Ten coaches that everyone knows that they
steal them, so change them.

Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
Well, I'll just say souper fast. The little bow is
we act like cheating is just one level, you know
what I mean, Like it's just this great, big bin
of cheating. And what the Astros were doing with electronical
devices and banging on trash cans. It's so much different
than yeah, we got ted over at the Rutgers game.

(01:35:20):
It's so different, right, So yeah, well, well I get
what you're saying, but you can't tell me. You can't
tell me that that was encapsulated to one franchise because
I know, Yeah, well, I can tell you, I I've
heard of a lot of teams doing similar things. And again,
maybe maybe the genesis of some of these ideas was

(01:35:41):
out of Houston and and maybe that's the reason why
they got hit the hardest. But I can promise you
very similar, if not the exact same things were happening
at multiple franchises. But you have to have a torch
bearer for the for the punishment. You have to have,
you know, the person who takes the fall, so everybody
else flees, you know, Oh god, oh, we don't want suspensions,

(01:36:05):
we don't want to get fired, we don't want this,
we don't want this stay in our reputation. And so
you know, you go after that market instead of the
other markets that are more important to baseball.

Speaker 4 (01:36:16):
And that's the way the.

Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
Cookie crumbles, all right, that's the voice of Rich Ornberger,
Penn State All American back from Hawaii State. Side over
here laid contingent. We've got Jared Smith FSR betting analyst.
I'm Brian No coming up next. We go quick hit

(01:36:38):
style okay, no four minute offense, two minute offense, rap
it oh, wrap it oh. Hitting on many games, including
the biggest game of the day. Also, will the slide
continue for this team that's on the way. It's Fox
Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff presented by BETMGM. We are
thirty four minutes away from kickoff. It is Fox Sports

(01:37:00):
Rados Countdown to Kickoff, presented by bet MGM. Once a day,
play bet MGM's free to play eight Bit Barry for
a chance to win daily prizes. Players Hall of Famer
Barry Sanders and choose to spin stiff arm or juke
your wate to the end zone to win prizes. If
Barry scores a touchdown, you score a reward. Okay, Well,
the slide continue for Miami. Miami lost a heartbreaker against

(01:37:24):
Georgia Tech a couple of weeks ago because they didn't
kneel on the football and run the clock out, and
then last week they got handled by North Carolina. They're
at home, They're facing Clemson, and Clemson has smacked them
around something fierce. Over the last four meetings, Miami has

(01:37:44):
been outscored by Clemson one seventy eight to Thirty's what
we're looking at here. So does the slide continue for
the Hurricanes. Clemson's got a really good defense. I say
it does. What do you guys think?

Speaker 4 (01:37:58):
Yeah? I think does.

Speaker 6 (01:38:00):
Also, I'm guessing I haven't looked at this spread, but
Clemson narrow favorites on the road in Miami.

Speaker 3 (01:38:06):
Yeah, yep. Minus three hasn't really moved off of three
all week. It's been kind of stagnant.

Speaker 6 (01:38:11):
Yeah, I feel like it could be a close game,
and I think that's fair. But but I do think
ultimately Clemson, Clemson will win this this game. Miami's down bad.
I just I just don't. I just don't think you
can have a loss like that, and really, unless you're
a special program, which I don't believe they are this year,

(01:38:35):
you can really bounce back from that.

Speaker 4 (01:38:37):
That was That was gutting.

Speaker 6 (01:38:40):
That was I mean that there there are games, there
are plays in seasons that pretty much punctuate the entire year,
and unfortunately.

Speaker 4 (01:38:51):
For the Hurricanes.

Speaker 6 (01:38:52):
That was it like that is going to be most
likely the play of the season for them, and out
of disappointment because I think that this is a team
that could have overachieved. I think that a five to
one record would look much better than four and two,
especially considering the way they lost to Georgia Tech.

Speaker 2 (01:39:15):
That that one.

Speaker 6 (01:39:16):
Was inconceivable losing to you and see, okay, fine, but
you can't lose to Georgia Tech. Is that is going
to be I mean that if we're going to do
the post mortem on this season at some point in
the offseason, that'll be the first thing you turn to.

Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
So this is this happens almost every year. I'll read
you a few of the years that this has also
happened for Miami. In twenty twenty one, lost at home
to underdog Michigan State, then lost their next two against
FBS opponents. Last year, they got their doors blown off
as a twenty five point favorite by Middle Tennessee, then
did not cover six straight games after that debacle. So

(01:39:55):
just in the last two years, they have lost twice
as an underdog or and they've lost twice the favorite
when the other team won is an underdog and then
after that game, it's just gone off the rails. And
that's coaching, right Rich, that's Mario Chrystobaul unable to reignite
the flames. That is resting dormant. Now in this Miami program,

(01:40:19):
They've got a ton of talent, but if they're not
right between the ears. When we were on UNC last week,
I bet him on the alt spread that hit as well,
and I think you keep fading him here. This is
a strength versus strength game, though, and I'm always intrigued
by those games.

Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:40:35):
Miami's got a top ten offense, Clemson's got a top
ten defense. But Clemson's defense I think is better than
Miami's offense, and Clemson's defense I think is getting healthier.
Nate Wiggins top corner, arguably one of the top corners
in this class. You're gonna see his name in the
first round of the NFL Draft coming up in April.

Speaker 7 (01:40:53):
He's back this week. Sheridan Jones, another starting.

Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
Caliber corner, is back for Clemson, so their secondary is
getting stronger. And last year's leading receiver Antonio Williams is
also back this week after not playing last week. I
don't love Clemson's offense Kate Clubnick has not shown me much.
I certainly preferred Tyler van Dyke, but Van Dyke banged
Up's got a knee injury, he's got multiple ligaments torn
in his throwing hand, and he's throwing five picks in

(01:41:16):
his last two games. I just I cannot get behind
the Miami team here. And I think the numbers telling
you Clemson is the better team. I think Clemson wins
this game.

Speaker 2 (01:41:26):
How about this that too, Miami is zero to five
in acc home games under Mario Christibaal. Wow, that's like.

Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
If it was a recruiting he'd be fired already.

Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
I just he offers nothing from a game perspective to
me when I watch his games.

Speaker 2 (01:41:41):
Well, hey, man, you go back to Oregon. I don't
mean to speak crushing Mario cristaball here, but you go
back to Oregon when Justin Herbert was there. It pulled
up on my Facebook memories thing that I went to
an Oregon game with one of my buddies and so
and he sent me some and back. He was like,
you remember driving back from that game, we were like,

(01:42:03):
is Herbert good? Like That's what we were wondering because
of the way Chrystal Ball used him in college. He
was so conservative. Yeah, and uh, it's just so ironic
that he was conservative with Herbert. Yet he's not kneeling
on the football and let's be aggressive and keep running.

Speaker 7 (01:42:20):
Not a great coach, like, honestly, that's not a great
game coach.

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:42:25):
We are not zero and five in conference games with
Isaac Lohenkron, no head, No, we are undefeated.

Speaker 8 (01:42:33):
Wait, that's because I steal signs.

Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
Let's be honest.

Speaker 4 (01:42:36):
Good point.

Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
But you're low key about it, allegedly about it.

Speaker 6 (01:42:39):
You don't get you're actually putting it on your LinkedIn page.

Speaker 8 (01:42:48):
Right, Life in twenty twenty three. We'll talk about life
in twenty twenty three on this Saturday in the NFL,
where the Pittsburgh Steelers today plays tight end Pat Freyerman
on an injured reserve because of a hamstring injury. Steelers
also activating receiver Deontay Johnson from injured reserve. In Game
five of the American League Championship Series on Friday.

Speaker 5 (01:43:09):
Astros down four to two. The pitch and how two
they hits it in the air pretty deep to left.
Carteris back at.

Speaker 11 (01:43:15):
The wall, leaves and it is gone. It's gone, It's gone.
It's God mosiltive get the Astros a five to four.

Speaker 8 (01:43:26):
Lane over the Texas Rangers on k b ME. That
would be the final. Houston leads the series three games
to two. In Game four of the National League Championship
Series on Friday night, the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied from a
five to two deficit of the bottom of the seventh
inning to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies six to five, tying
the series at two wins a piece. And finally, an

(01:43:47):
NBA preseason action on Friday night, in San Antonio's one
twenty two to one seventeen win at Golden State, rookie
number one overall draft pick Victor weben Yama had nineteen
points and five blocked shots in just twenty one minutes
of action. Fellas back to.

Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
You, I Lo, You're the freaking man.

Speaker 8 (01:44:05):
Good Nightwise Likewise, Fellas.

Speaker 3 (01:44:07):
Love you, Bud.

Speaker 2 (01:44:09):
Okay, So, Fox Sports Radios Cam down to kickoff, presented
by Bett MGM. You know I'm gonna attempt something here.
We gotta go rapid fire style and I'm gonna bring
up Penn State. Oh boy, I know how you guys
like talk. Okay, So, this is a test. Consider this
year twenty four lightly shot clock. Okay, all right, I'm
thinking this with Drew Aller twelve touchdowns, zero interceptions. I

(01:44:34):
think Chris is up to one hundred dollars in there, Yes,
getting this.

Speaker 3 (01:44:38):
Pence is going to be dry today.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Yeah, so does Drew Aller pull a Sam Hartman? This
is what I'm thinking. Okay, Sam Hartman, the Notre Dame
quarterback heading into the Louisville game. I think he had
fourteen touchdowns, but certainly zero interceptions heading into that game.
He threw three of them against Louisville. I don't see

(01:45:01):
Drew Aller throwing three interceptions today, but I don't see
him having a zero a goose egg in the interception
column when this game is done. He can't dink and
dunk all day, and so I think that the uh,
the clean sheet, if you will, it's over. I see
him throwing at least one interception today.

Speaker 6 (01:45:21):
You guys, boy, Gert, I love that you went there,
because that's really, in my mind, the only way Penn
State can really get beat badly is if he starts
making mistakes with the football. If they're trailing, I could
see it happening if they're chasing points, because that is
not Penn State's game.

Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
But I don't.

Speaker 6 (01:45:43):
I don't think it's gonna happen that way. I think
the team that's gonna be pressing is the team that's
gonna be facing the most pressure, and I believe that's
going to be Ohio State. I think this, this pass
rush is going to get to Kyle McCord.

Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
He hasn't done a pick all year. Yeah, so you did,
Sam Hartman, and then I know, well, I think I
think what they ask of him will be important today. Yes, again,
he's only attempted eight passes all year beyond eighteen yards,
so it's hard to throw an interception when you're thinking dunk,

(01:46:17):
check down Charlie all year. And there's going to come
a point in this game where they're going to ask
him to push the ball down the field. So yes,
of all the games he's played, this is the game
that has the highest probability of him throwing an interception.
The fact that he hasn't thrown one and the odds
are minus one thirty or higher for him to do
so is telling you the market thinks he will today.

Speaker 2 (01:46:38):
Yeah, I think he will do you think he'll stay clean.

Speaker 7 (01:46:43):
I'm abstaining from answering negatives.

Speaker 2 (01:46:45):
Come on, he's that facing you mass like, that's the thing.
You're not gonna be leading sixty three to nothing. I
can guarantee you that. So if you're trailing, especially if
you're trailing late, you can't dink and dunk all day.
Just can't happen and expect to win.

Speaker 7 (01:47:00):
Let's leave it at this.

Speaker 3 (01:47:01):
If you're going to bet over on Drew Aller's interception
prop today, you should pair it with Ohio State money line.
It is a very correlated wager. If he is forced
to throw deep and throw an interception, that means it's
going badly for Penn State.

Speaker 4 (01:47:16):
I completely agree.

Speaker 6 (01:47:17):
I I don't think he throws a pick if if
Penn State is gonna win this game, yeah, I think,
And in fact, I almost feel like if he throws
a pick, it's not gonna be the reason they lose.
I think if he throws a pick it's because games Yeah,
exactly right. Ohio State has jumped out to an early lead,
and they're pressing, and they're relying on a part of
the game that they're uncomfortable with.

Speaker 4 (01:47:39):
That he's uncomfortable with.

Speaker 6 (01:47:40):
And that'll be uh, that'll be a telltale sign that
it's a bad day for ninty Nation.

Speaker 2 (01:47:46):
How about this, We're expecting a lot of offense in
the South Carolina Missouri game.

Speaker 4 (01:47:50):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:47:50):
And Shane Shane Beemer, the UH game Cocks head coach,
he broke his foot after kicking something after they lost
to Florida. They gave up a double digit lead in
the fourth quarter, and he said it was after the
game and certainly that was a gut wrenching, emotional loss.
I was frustrated and kicked something that I shouldn't have
kicked and thought I was okay, but the adrenaline of

(01:48:13):
the game war off. He is writhing in fain and
I love this. He joked that the athletic director Ray Tanner,
I didn't get a whole lot of empathy from him,
who died laughing when Shane Biemer told him about the injury.
How about that, you kick something, you break your foot,
you tell your ad and the AD is just on

(01:48:35):
the floor laughing. I just love that. But South Carolina
trying to get right against Missouri, Missouri very quietly six
and one on the season, felt.

Speaker 6 (01:48:45):
Yeah, Missouri's got a high powered offense, but so doa
is the game Cox. This was my prop of the day.
Two seventy and a half passing yardage for Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
Give me the over there.

Speaker 6 (01:48:57):
Because I do think that he's going to be chasing
Rady Cook and this Missouri Tigers offense all day long.

Speaker 4 (01:49:03):
And I do mean chasing. Like you said, this is
the quietest.

Speaker 6 (01:49:06):
Six and one season I think we've ever seen. But
the Tigers are real. They are the real deal. And
uh and I think this this might end up being
their seventh winn in the season.

Speaker 12 (01:49:17):
Luther Burden, right, I meant he should be back last week? Yeah, yeah,
I mean we of course we were one week late
on the Luther Burden train, although we gave him out
the prior week and he went over.

Speaker 3 (01:49:27):
So I guess we're one and one on the Luther
Burden props. But if that duo of Cook and Burden
get going, I mean, South Carolina's secondary has been a
struggle this year. Yeah, and Columbia is tough, and I
know Missouri is not this typical SEC stronghold, but that's
a tough place to play. Usually it's windy, it's an out.
It's a very outdoor, open air stadium, and it can

(01:49:49):
get a little fiery. Afternoon game today, so it's not
the night game in Columbia when they really get a
little weird. They were they all blacks, But I think
this is Spencer Rattler if they can keep that offensive
line stays solid up front. I think Missouri's defense has
been had. We saw what Elis you did to them
a few weeks ago. So this game has kind of

(01:50:09):
sneaky shootout vibes. If both Cook and Rattler are both
slinging it.

Speaker 2 (01:50:13):
I think Burden goes over one hundred today. Yeah, that's
a pretty backup. He's back in a big way that
I could see it. Like, Rich, there's gonna be a
lot of points in this game. Yeah, high scoring affairs.

Speaker 3 (01:50:25):
Smells like two good quarterbacks with some pretty good weapons
and defenses that are about average to sub subpar.

Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
Right, all right, we've got Rich Hornberger, Penn State all American.
I think he owes Chris Purfett over one hundred dollars
right with all the Penn States from today. Yeah, we're
carrying up. We're joining for sixteen.

Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
Gotta send us your Venmo Chris.

Speaker 2 (01:50:46):
Yeah, we'll see if he uses three different Penn State
music beds for each.

Speaker 7 (01:50:51):
No, no, no, no, no, you only get one more. We're
not signed stealing.

Speaker 2 (01:50:55):
Over here, We're not What is that? I thought it
was ten dollars a pop and now all of a
sudden the goldpost to be and moved.

Speaker 7 (01:51:03):
Up on this at all. Yeah, I thought I was falling.
It was gonna fall on deaf years.

Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
Jared Smith is with us FSR betting analyst. I'm Brian
No coming up next, picks Galore, we Go, Rapid Fire
Style and uh pretty good week collectively seven and two
last week, so hoping to close it strong here today
as well. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff
presented by bet MGM. We are thirteen minutes away from kickoff.

(01:51:30):
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff presented by
bet MGM. Props to the crew as always, Ryan Berschinger
our guy back in with Bo Benson. It's usc got
smacked around so bad last week. Bow had to take
the weekend off. Wow. Yeah, now it's his birthday. His
birthday was yesterday. Happy birthday to Bo and shout out

(01:51:53):
to Ryan Berschinger. Filling in for him today, our old
producer back. We've got a Chris Perfect who's a wealthy
man after playing all this Penn State.

Speaker 3 (01:52:02):
Music today all in one place there, Chris.

Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
That's right. Technical producer Isaac Lowen Cron on the updates
Top of the Hour. You got t J. Hushmanzada, Carrie
Rhoades my man for Jet. That's right, former Jet, former
Arizona cardinal watches Jory Louisville game former teammate carry Roads
right there. That's awesome, Rich, Yeah, very nice up on game.

(01:52:24):
Kerry's nicest guy on the pop. That awesome dude up
on game. Top of the Hour. Okay, we got some
picks to make. Let's dive in here. Rapid Fire all right,
Jared off a three and oh weekend?

Speaker 3 (01:52:39):
What do you have for a thereby hate on the
thirteen and eleven for the year. So moving in a
positive direction, but we're just getting started people. Revenge is
the theme of this week's Rapid Fire picks. Let's start
with USC laying seven points again revenge game. They lost
twice to Utah last year and this is one of
those Hey you down quarterbacks out best tight end Keithy's out,

(01:53:03):
not a lot of offense for the Utes. I think
USC gets back on track this week after Brian's boys
Laida hurtin on the Trojans last week in South Bend.
I'll take the Trojans minus seven another revenge game. Alabama
laying eight and a half at home today against Tennessee.
Gave this out on Friday in our social video of
the week for FSR. I just I don't see Tennessee's
offense stretching this Alabama defense. Malachi Moor is back for

(01:53:26):
the tie today. We will take Bama laying eight and
a half at home against Tennessee.

Speaker 6 (01:53:31):
Wow, we're against each other on one of these picks.

Speaker 2 (01:53:34):
Let's start there.

Speaker 6 (01:53:35):
I'll start there, and I'll give you the reason why
I think USC isn't going to cover. Caleb Williams when
pressured is close to the bottom of the list among
Power five quarterbacks. We watched him panic and flounder against Irish.

Speaker 4 (01:53:49):
I think the Utes watched that film.

Speaker 6 (01:53:51):
They have a pressure plan, So give me the points
I got the Utes catch in seven. Colorado State the
Rams with viral for the buzzer beater win over Boise
State a week ago. They head to UNLV to face
a revitalized Rebels team. I believe the Rams pick up
where they left off. Start fast in Sin City. Give

(01:54:11):
me CSU catching seven on the road, and then Penn State.
They had the highest pass rush win rate in the country.
Ohio State has the seventh worst quarterback in college football
and facing pressure, I've got confidence in the country's best defense.
Give me the points I got the Nitney Lions catching
seven or excuse me, catching four on the road against

(01:54:33):
the Buckey Let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:54:35):
I was like, man, there's a major line movement ever
a second seven state? Yeah, yeah, I would do you know?
There was a there was a week where I went
undefeated and I started retracing my steps. I'm like, well,
what was different about that week? Remember the Mic cover?

Speaker 3 (01:54:52):
I kicked superstitious spring over here?

Speaker 2 (01:54:56):
That's right, and oh man, this is a that's not
a good ome but hard to get that snug snug
Mike cover. Right, dog, here's what I'm thinking over here,
going with a couple of dogs. Give me Baylor plus
two and a half. Okay, Cincinnati and Big twelve play
freaking terrible, terrible. Give me the Baylor Bears. I'm gonna
go with Clemson I'll lay the three on the road Miami.

(01:55:17):
The tailspin continues. They have had nothing for Clemson, who
has a solid defense, and ever since, like the Horror Show,
not kneeling against Georgia Tech. I think they're in for
more pain. And give me a Service Academy. Give me
Navy plus ten and a half against Air Force today.
The dogs have been barking in this series over the

(01:55:38):
last twenty So I get ten and a half with
Navy Air Force their quarterbacks down, give me the midshipman,
all right, and my dad was in the Navy, so
I got that extra luck on my side as well.
That's what I'm going with. All Right, We've got this
to throw at you as well. Let's dive in.

Speaker 1 (01:55:56):
This is the best play of the day's man.

Speaker 2 (01:56:01):
All right, Jared, what do you have for us?

Speaker 10 (01:56:03):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:56:03):
First, each of the last five Service Academy games, they've
been decided by seven points fads. So I'm on Navy
today too. Put yeah, I think we're actually all three
of Brian's picks I have on my card.

Speaker 7 (01:56:16):
So Brian and I are in stopatigo today. But play
the day, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:56:19):
This is this one, Rivals, the Shamus Special. This is
a stinky, ugly, disgusting underdog on homecoming in Hoosierville, Indiana plus.

Speaker 7 (01:56:33):
Six against Rutgers.

Speaker 3 (01:56:35):
Guys. Rutgers has been in the Big Ten now for
several years. They have never been favored by more than
two points on the road in the Big Ten. They're
favored by six today. And I am a believer in karma.
I have nothing nice to say about Indiana's offense. They're terrible,
their defense is atrocious. Everything about Indiana is bad. But
karma matters to me. Rutgers otis won last week. I

(01:56:57):
don't know how they pulled that game off. I have
no idea it was a special team's fluke in here
and that Rutgers is not going on the road today
and blowing out Indiana.

Speaker 7 (01:57:06):
So it's a karma play.

Speaker 3 (01:57:07):
It's more of a gut field than it is analytics
or or insight. But I think Indiana on homecoming, the
stinky dog of the week, keeps things close today against Rutgers.

Speaker 4 (01:57:16):
What do we think?

Speaker 2 (01:57:17):
I just like the thought of the drop of everything
about Indiana is bad.

Speaker 7 (01:57:21):
It's terrible what they're covering today.

Speaker 2 (01:57:23):
Yeah you might hear that drop and thing man, what
does he have against Indianapolis or South Bend or Tarra
Road or man, I don't know, man, Okay, over there
though the Bloomington.

Speaker 7 (01:57:35):
I need your help in the stands today. There's probably
be the.

Speaker 3 (01:57:38):
Only one of the stands for plus six plus.

Speaker 7 (01:57:42):
This is a shame as special right here.

Speaker 4 (01:57:44):
Oh yeah, this is gross.

Speaker 7 (01:57:46):
This is gross.

Speaker 2 (01:57:47):
Hey man, When you gotta like plug your nose and
hold on, sometimes the nose is unplugged. A couple of
quarters into that bad boys, So I hope that works
out for you. Everybody enjoyed the ball
