Tyrec dot com. The way tire buying should be. You

(00:24):
can keep a plotting go ahead, Yes, I got to know, absolutely.
Thank you very much here, all right, yes, thank you.
Thank you to those over there as well. The clapping
that you hear is probably drowning out some of the
booze that are going on throughout the Cleveland areas. Kevin
Stefanski apparently still doesn't want to make a change after

(00:45):
his team got destroyed today in the Nation's Capital against
the Washington Commanders. Your Jets could not knock the Vikings
off from the ranks of the unbeaten. We'll break down
one of the key plays from that game. And the
Jaguars picked up win numero today in I don't want
to say it was impressive fashion. Joe Flacco is impressive,
but the Jaguars found a way to win in not

(01:07):
lose a game, and that's big for Jacksonville. But we
starts in Cincinnati, keeping up to date on what's happening
in the four games that are going right now. But
we start with the Ravens topping the Bengals forty one
to thirty eight in an AFC North showdown that saw
this in that great quarterback play Joe Burrow Lamar Jackson
and it all basically comes down to a botch snap

(01:30):
on a botch hold on a field goal attempt. Evan
McPherson misses his Derrick Henry ends up busting loose for
a big run and Justin Tucker can make the chip shot.
Ravens get a huge, huge victory in Cincinnati today in overtime.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I walk in here, we get ready to sit down.
I just knew that Cincinnati won that game with the
kick at the end. I knew McPherson was going to
make that, and I'm driving over course sit here. I'm
thinking it's O gimme right, yeah, Erson, I sit down
and you tell him. I hear the call over there
that they win. I'm like, wait, let me check the score. Oh,

(02:02):
Baltimore war Yeah, ducked out. So that was a big
news for me. I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Well, you didn't duck out. You just thought that the
kick was good. Yeah, and that all was done. And
that is one of the tricky things about doing this
show and figuring out when you're gonna arrive and how
you're gonna do it, because you try to try to
plant with these early games of this late window and
the Ravens pull a shocker. But it is a huge
game for a couple of reasons. And number one, it

(02:30):
does mute any momentum the Bengals could have had from
that win last week against Carolina that was expected. They
get their first win of the season after starting out
zero to three. But what it does is now you
have the Ravens coming to town. You beat the Ravens
at home, and you're back in it. There's a two

(02:50):
thirds of a season to play yet in this twenty
twenty four campaign, and everything that went wrong for the
Bengals in the first three weeks doesn't matter anymore because
they're back in it. Now. You're in a scenario you're
two games back of Baltimore, You've lost the home game
to them. That's a really big deal when we're talking
about one of the most competitive divisions that you've got

(03:11):
in the National Football League. I know the Browns aren't
keeping up their end of the deal, but Pittsburgh tonight
against Dallas, who knows they're leading the division right now,
the Ravens now back on track after their slow start.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah, this is crazy because if Cincinnati wins this game,
they're two and three. Baltimore's two and three, and I
think the Steelers lose tonight and that would have just
been three and two. So it's just been a one
game difference for the league. Now they're one and four
and they're in trouble. Even though they're starting to find
their rhythm on offense, they can't stop anybody on defense,
and their secondary, just like Baltimore secondary today, is not playing.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Really good football.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
So a huge, huge loss there, And I mean it's
just that that may be a season in theory.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
It's it's tough. It is very tough because again, now
you can't now that slow start, does linger. Yeah, remember
this is the Bengals third home game of the season.
They are now owen three at home in a season
where the AFC, by the way, is only playing eight
home games this year, so you weren't making any hay.
Two of those were against opponents that you thought you

(04:11):
should beat. Now looking at what Washington is doing, maybe
that was a game that Cincinnati, maybe you should have lost,
but you shouldn't have lost in New England the way
that you did. And this one comes down to just
a botched hold of Evan McPherson. May have missed the
kick if it was perfect, but for the fact of
the holder, Raco could not get the snap down and

(04:34):
in place, and McPherson ends up pulling it wide left.
That didn't even have a chance. That's really tough to
take because it's that snap that is the difference from
your back in the playoff picture, and now you need
almost everything to go right for you this season. It
just shows the importance of everything.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
You know, we get to see the big plays on TV,
we talk about the big plays on the air on
the radio, but the mechanics of each play really matter.
And it shows the importance of doing everything right and
doing everything right consistently, and Cincinnati hasn't done that well
enough all year.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
The Giants are in the end zone, they have just
scored Wandale Robinson a seven yard touchdown pass from Daniel Jones.
Extra point is good, and the Giants have pulled even
with the Seahawks seven apiece. This game really isn't even.
It's been dominated by the Giants so far. The Seahawks
were forced to punt on their first possession. They end

(05:28):
up giving the ball to the Giants. The Giants then
run a bunch of screens get all the way to
the one yard line. You may have heard Stephen Rich
talk about it, but a fumble at the goal line
was picked up by Rayshawn Jenkins of the Seahawks. He
then returned at one hundred yards for a touchdown the
other way. So that's how Seattle got their seven points.
But the Giants have shown that they can move the
ball against the Seahawks. That is a seven to seven game.

(05:50):
The Rams are knocking on the doorstep against the Packers,
facing a second and three. Then now I've got it
inside the five yard line on a four yard run
from Blake Korum. So the Packers up seven to nothing
with eleven minutes to go until halftime. Now trying to
hold on to that lead, trying to keep the rams
out of the end zone. I'll tell you what, I
think one of your former teams has a really good

(06:12):
chance to pull an up set today and it would
be the biggest upset in the week, and that's the
Cardinals against the forty nine ers. Forty nine Ers were
more than a touchdown favorite. But right now we're sitting
here at ten ten with nine minutes to go in
the first half. In that game in Santa Clara, a
warm afternoon, forty nine ers wearing their white pants. They
wanted to switch to white jerseys. The NFL wouldn't let them.

(06:34):
That would have meant your Cardinals, your former team, the Cardinals,
would have had to have worn red. You have to
make those requests prior to the season. Forty nine Ers
are driving right now, they're inside the red zone, facing
a second and five at the Arizona fifteen yard line,
and it looks like Jordan Mason got a first down.
But there's some laundry on the field. But with the
forty nine ers being two and two as they are,

(06:56):
and you got a short week with the Seahawks coming
up on Thursday, that also maybe looking ahead to Thursday,
I think this could be trap games for both of
these teams.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Yeah, it could be trap games, but I also think
in this one, in particular with the Cardinals in the
forty nine ers, the Cardinals are coming off of a
really bad loss last week against against the Commanders, and
I'm sure a coach Gannon has gotten into them really, really,
really intensely throughout the week, and so they're coming out
and performing well right now. Long game to go. I
think San Francisco wins Dilson, but they're being competitive right now.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
That computer made a sound effect. It was like you
got five points. Because it was an awful lost this
week at Commanders. I expected a lot more from Arizona
in that game, but they're bringing it today. And I've
told you from the get go not to harp on
the point. I just think Arizona plays hard. And when
we've already had conversations this year about teams making business decisions,

(07:47):
whether that be with the Raiders who are playing without
DeVante Adams today or if it's the Cleveland Browns that
was a topic that came up with their loss to
the Washington Commanders. Just having effort, as crazy as it sounds,
is almost half the battle in some of these NFL situations,
and let's not get it twisted.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Every NFL player makes a business decision every now and
then it happens, and I know that words being I've
been running rampant right now throughout the league. But yes,
a lot of that happens, and it's and it's normal
with human nature. I don't know if there's play with
a lot of guys, and I know there's a lot
of situations where, you know, things happen where a decision
has been made. So but again, these games are going

(08:26):
to be competitive. The NFL is such a you know,
a talent Leyden league, and so if you come out
and not play hard and not play well, teams can
beat you.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
The forty nine ers are now second and go out
the five yard line, as the penalty was against Arizona.
As for the Rams and Packers, Karen Williams a one
yard touchdown run for Los Angeles. The extra point is good.
That game tied up at seven, And what is somewhat
of a home game for Packer fans is they have
jamms Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles to take in the

(08:56):
game today. The other game that we have failed to
talk about is all also a ten ten game like
the Cardinals and forty nine ers are, and that is
Denver and the Raiders. Third and five right now for
the Raiders, as they have the football with four thirty
eighth to go until halftime. In that ten to ten
ball game, Patrick Shotanna defensive touchdown for the Broncos. Their

(09:17):
defense has been great so far this season. The Raiders
getting on the board with a Brock Bauers touchdown reception.
He did a lot of the work on the pass
from Gardner Minshew. But now a fourth down and two
for the Raiders again, four minutes to go and counting.
They are at the forty two yard line of Denver.
But they're going to choose to punt in the thin air.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
And Antonio Pears is old school. Unless they fake it here,
he's usually he's gonna punt it in playfield position here.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
This is a big game for Denver.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
I mean they're two and two right now, got a
big win last last week against the Jets. They've lost
eight in a row to the Raider, so this is
a get over the hump type game for them.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I don't think people realize that it's been that dominant
one sided of an affair. Yeah again, sorry to bring
up your former team with the team with the second
longest playoff drought, I believe behind your New York Jets
is the Denver Broncos. I hate you. I'll tell you.
It's crazy to think that when Peyton Manning walk off

(10:15):
the field as the Super Bowl champion that the Broncos
would not be in the playoffs from that point, and
that has been the case so far. A field goal
in Santa Clara has the Niners up on the Cardinals
thirteen to ten. Now San Francisco could not get into
the end zone. As for that punt, Denver's going to
start inside their five. If there was a different quarterback,
or if Denver's offense had showed any ability to sustain

(10:37):
drives or do anything offensively, maybe in that scenario you
go for it. Maybe in that scenario again, with the
thin air and what seems to be a nice day
in Denver, you kick it. Fifty eight yard field goals
sixty yard field goals aren't that big of a deal.
But in this scenario, why give Denver any sort of
momentum in a tie game, Pin them back deep and
maybe you get the ball back at the start of
the two minutes left to the first half.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Those in two an't equal and like you just said
right now, I mean Denver's off is in a juggernaut,
so you pin them back. It's ten ten, it's a
close game. Let's keep playing some field position and some defense.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
He is Carrie Rhodes Steel Pro. I'm Dan Byer. It
is week five in the National Football League. As we

desk keeping us up to date of what's happening in
these games and so much more. Lorraina. Peterson are executior
a technical producer today, so she has got the ones

(11:33):
and twos and igniting that great applause that we had
to start the show, all right, close football here In
all four games, Giants at Seahawks tied up at seven
seven minutes to go until halftime, Packers and Rams tied
up at seven, ten minutes to go until halftime. Ten
ten ball game between the Raiders and Broncos nearing halftime
seven minutes left in the first half in Santa Clara.
It's the Niners thirteen Cardinals ten. He is Carry Rhoades.

(11:55):
I'm Dan Byer. How much can DeVante adams absence actually
be a posit for the Raiders? And boy, what a
way to get your first win of the season. We'll
talk about it next. He's carry. I'm Dan. This is

Minshew under center, Minshew at a playfake rowing to his left,
now floats one two, Hi.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
It's going to be intercepting.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
That's the gold line down, the west sideline interception.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
This is passer Tan Stan's gott a house.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Call it twenty five twenty fifteen ten.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Five touchdown back to Dan Bier and Carry Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
KOA eight fifty AM and ninety four point one FM
Broncos Radio on the call. The offense isn't doing it,
so the defense needs to step up. Patrick Certan arguably
the best corner in the National Football League, picking up
for his team in those suite throwbacks. They're calling him
the nineteen seventy seven throwbacks. It's fine you or I

(13:04):
was born. I'm good with that. But I also look
at them and say John Elway in the nineteen eighties
tied up at ten apiece with the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Yeah, I just think about John Elway. I think of
at Water, I think of those think of those guys
when I watched those jerseys. But uh yeah, big play
by certain one hundred yards. I know you guys don't
understand how far one hundred yards is when you're playing
a game. The fact that you're able to score and
make it in big deal, big play. I think he
is the best corner in the league. So big tongueing

(13:32):
point in that game.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
I know how much it is. It's about a fifty
six degree wedge or go golf. Yes, that's that is
the funny thing. I'll say this. You bring that point
of most people actually growing up, we had a yard
stick in our house. Did you have a yard stick

(13:53):
in your house? Sure? Manci do you have growing up?
Did you guys have a yards in your house? A
yard stick?

Speaker 6 (14:03):
A yard stick?

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yes, I think a ruler, that's all it is. But
it's a yard.

Speaker 6 (14:08):
Oh yeah, okay, sure did you had one?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Like Doul they measure it. Would your parents measure you
with the yardstick or.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
No, no they would. My mom would bring out.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Like the y that's fine, not the exact same, but hey,
that works. I know you're wondering where I'm going with this.
I know really when you are when you are a
child watching football and you find out actually how far
ten yards is and it really isn't that far, like
as far as you think it is, it's mind blowing.

(14:39):
And then when you lay out your yard stick and
you're like, wait, this is my living room, you know,
this is this is what this is all that it is.
But that was the point I was saying, is to
your point, one hundred yards, especially when you're run, you're
running it long way. Yes, but when you actually look
at what a ten yard field would be or what
it would be, say on a golf course, it's a
little bit of a different story. It's a little bit

(15:01):
it's deceiving in that way. It also is magnified when
you're in a sixty seventy thousand, eighty thousand seat stadium
that's around you and that looks closer, just like if
you're on a basketball court, when you're in an arena,
as opposed to a high school gym. The hoop looks
like it's five yards from you when it's five feet
from you, when it's really twenty five feet from you.
So there's that depth perception of it. But running one

(15:22):
hundred yards in the thin air of Denver is quite
the task. One hundred yards in the thin air after
ten play drive.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
So remember you're already worked up and you can there's
a little fatigue there already happening, So the taking one
hundred yards is exhausting.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
That highlight there courtesy of again Broncos Radio and that
ten ten ball game. With ninety seconds left to go
until halftime, we have a change of momentum in Santa
Clara as the forty nine ers have blocked in Arizona
Cardinals field goal attempt and ran it back for a
touchdown and the Niners they've taken a twenty to ten lead.

(16:02):
Jake Moody kicked the extra point, but then on the
ensuing kickoff, Jake Moody has just injured his right leg,
So the Niners up ten right now, may be a
bit shorthanded when it comes to their kicking game, as
he's being ten to too on the field.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Yeah, I know kickers want to get in there and
be football players, improve that they're football players. But you know,
if you don't have to get in there and make
a form fitting tackle, don't do it and cost their
team right now, because now they're going to be in
a situation where we saw the Giants in a couple
of weeks ago not being able to kick extra points
and having to go for it on fourth down, which
isn't always beneficial.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
And the Giants, speaking of which, are in a game
of the Seahawks right now where realistically the Giants have
had a firm control, at least statistically, have been in
control of this game. It's still seven to seven, and
now the Giants have the ball in Seattle territory with
two twenty five left to go until halftime. And in
the most Giants thing ever, they just ran a flea

(16:57):
flicker screen, So that that's true. You have you ever
seen a flea flicker screen go for five yards?

Speaker 3 (17:04):
We just had one with Brian Daboll and the New
York Giants. Yeah, I mean they're playing ball controlled. I
didn't want to go deep Dan, they're trying to kick
the ball away. Well, but let's think about this. The
whole point of a screen, right is to let the
defense come at you unobated, so the defense over pursues
and then you dunk it over. Yeah, handing the ball

(17:25):
off to a running back and having them pitch it
back to you would be counterproductive to that. That would
take up a lot of time. You would do that
in a max protection scenario, right, Dan, That play worked
in practice, though I'll tell you.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
That it got them five yards in this scenario. They
scored in practice. Now, but the Giants do have the
ball at now the two minute warning. After that five
yard completion on the the flea flicker screen that they ran,
Seahawks have only had the ball for seven minutes and
forty five seconds. And it's not just that, it's that
Seattle's offense, even when they've had the football, hasn't done

(17:59):
much with it. Kenneth Walker has two carries for two yards,
and again, Seattle's only score is the touchdown on the
fumble at the goal line by the Giants, as Rayshawn
Jenkins ended up pickup, picking it up and returning it
to the house one hundred yards for the Seahawks' score.
So that's where we are in Seattle Rams and Packers

(18:20):
right now in a seven to seven game as they
play in Los Angeles, about four minutes to go until
halftime in that game. All right, Davante Adams not playing
for the Raiders today. Raiders come out, get an early
touchdown there. They're in this dogfight with the Denver Broncos.
Didn't play last week, they ended up beating Cleveland in
a big game. Ruled out this week, and now reports are, hey,

(18:43):
guess what. Deavante Adams could be healthy enough to return
in week six. But the question is will he return
to Las Vegas or will be he will he be
in a new uniform. I feel DeVonta Adams hasn't played
because of this ongoing drama. What does it do for
the Raid right now? Before we look at the big
picture of Devonte Adams not having your star wide receiver

(19:04):
because he's unhappy, what does that do to it?

Speaker 3 (19:06):
I think best best case scenario in situations like that
is it galvanizes the team. I mean, you know, I
know that Antonio appears during the week kind of really
declined to talk about that situation a lot. He just
talked about him getting ready to play the Broncos and
him focusing on the team that's there and available, and
I think a lot of these times when you have

(19:27):
a star player like that that's, you know, kind of
on the fence about being all the way in, and
obviously we know that there are some trade rumblins going on,
so we kind of figured that the reason he's not
playing is because they're trying to see what the market
is for him. So I think best case scenario, which
it seems like today they're galvanizing, they're playing well, they're

(19:47):
playing tough, and I think I think when you know
that somebody's out, it helps somebody else that's getting a
chance to play to step all the way into that
position and claim it.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
I find these these scenarios that we have when players
aren't available and the effects that they have on their
team all unique in a variety of ways where guys
will hold out. Hassan Redick with the Jets still hasn't
reported he wants a new contract, but he's never been there,
so I don't think it's going to have any effect whatsoever.
Could be a wide receiver. Brandon Ayuk saw what the

(20:18):
forty nine ers doing a hold in Throughout the year,
we've questioned his work throughout the first three, four five
weeks of this season so far with the forty nine ers,
and I think they've been legitimate questions for what are
you've gotten and the reasoning on why he held in.
But I also think that there are players that say,
I get it, I understand that you're making a business decision.

(20:41):
The DeVante Adams thing is so weird to me, Carrie,
because this is supposed to be not a leader. This
is really the leader of your team. You look at
the Raiders roster, nobody's been there before DeVante Adams has
been there. He's been in big playoff games, He's made
big plays in his career, He's played top echelon football.

(21:03):
And for your leader to not be there for your team,
and before I get I get your quarterback that you
wanted to play for, isn't there anymore? Yeah, I get that.
Your coaches that you thought you were going to play
for aren't any you know there anymore? But I don't.
I'm surprised that the Raiders have actually handled it as
well as they have because I could see in other
places where it brings people together, But when you're supposed

(21:25):
to leader, is the one that's kind of turning his
back on you. I thought that that I have a
much bigger detrimental effect than it has on the Raiders
so far.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Well, yes it can. It can go multiple ways, obviously,
And then you said it earlier. I mean with him,
he's been very you know, showing a lot of praise
for AP in the offseason and you know, said he
wanted to be there with him and that guy and
Max Crosby and those guys as well. But yeah, things changed.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
I mean this league.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
You know, things happened quickly and changed quickly. He's probably
probably been dissatisfied with the quarterback play and the way
that team has operated. So, you know, like I said,
things change, And I'm sure he's at the stage of
his career where he wants to win and make plays
as well, and he's not having an opportunity right now.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
In Oakland, Daniel Jones with a scramble that he's gonna
set the Giants up at third and two as they
are looking to add points before the half. In Seattle,
again a seven to seven ball game, as the Giants
have dominated throughout. Have you ever mistakenly liked an IG
post or a tweet or retweeted it. I actually can

(22:28):
understand it more nowadays because of all the different features.
You watch a reel via TikTok, you have no idea
if you're pausing it, or if you're liking it, or
what is what is happening? Oh what you do? Dan?
No the Antonio Pierce liking of the IG post that
said DeVante Adams likely play this last game as a Raider. Now,

(22:52):
if I'm the head coach of the Raiders, I'm giving
Pierce the benefit of the doubt. And this is, by
the way, before we heard what Pierce had to say
this week. But if I find out that somebody is
saying my star player doesn't want to play on my team,
you know what I'm doing. I'm looking for a link.
I'm looking for something to read. What are they saying?
What do they know that I don't know? And guess what,

(23:13):
maybe your thumb accidentally hits it but and you don't
realize it and you've accidentally liked it. I get the
whole thing. But for him to like not even address it,
meaning that he actually did like the post and purposely
liked the post, blew my mind. I just can't believe
that in today's day and age, we have an NFL
head coach liking ig posts about the status of what

(23:34):
is going on with his organization. I thought it was
just going to be I don't run my social media,
you know, there was a mistake, or that I don't
have anything to do with that. But he just basically
didn't want to talk about it, which told me that, yeah,
he was the one that did like that.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Sweet Well, the crazy part about that is the fact
that he has time to be on Instagram, you know,
running a team, So I would be a little taken
aback by that part of it.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Yeah, what are you doing the job? She's what do
you do read? You know, come on, what's that's going on?

Speaker 7 (24:04):
No?

Speaker 2 (24:04):
No, I mean you know me on Instagram?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
I mean probably probably probably not the way to go,
but yes, you can definitely like something by mistake and
try to backtrack. I definitely would have unliked it, but
you know, you know, he probably forgot. He's a busy man.
When it's a big account, you can like it. I'mlike
pretty quickly, right or even I've done like oh wow, why.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Did I Why did I like? WHOA? I like? I
like that one? I mean that just of even an
ad like why did I like this ad? Well, it's
because I, you know, hit something or that is I'm
not saying that it's the fail all excuse. I'm just
saying it. Actually, nowadays, with all the different platforms and
what happens and what you do and don't do, there

(24:44):
would be more of an excuse instead of just being
like I was hacked. I was hacked. Oh I like it.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
I like beepot dogs, not pork. Let me let me
erase that one. Let me undulate that one like you
could make it. You can make an argument for it.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
And that's all I'm saying is that's what Antonio Pierce
could have done. He did not do that, and dead.
Now this saga continues. All right, We've got some drama
in Los Angeles. We also have some points on the
board in Seattle. Let's go to the news desk Monty
Belanios giving us the latest of what's happening in Week
five of the NFL and so much more. What's up, Monty?

Speaker 8 (25:15):
Hi, guys, Yes, a pick six right now against the
Packers in La LA's Jalen mcculloff. Is that my saying
that mccauleff, Yeah, Okay, he got the pick six, so
the Packers are now on top.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
The extra point was missed for the Rams, but they're beating.

Speaker 8 (25:31):
The Packers thirteen to seven with two minutes to go
in the first half. The Giants have added a field
goal to take the lead against the Seahawks ten to seven,
twenty seconds to go in the first half of that one.
It's halftime in Denver with the Broncos beating the Raiders
thirteen to ten. Gardner Minshew started things off, you know,
with a touchdown pass to Brock Bauers, but then Pat
certain Patzertin of the Broncos had a hundred yard pick

(25:54):
six from the end zone.

Speaker 6 (25:55):
Carr, you're just nodding. That's hard, Yes, that is.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
Kyle Hamilton was out of breath earlier today for the Ravens.

Speaker 6 (26:02):
He's like, I am doing this all the way.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
I'm thinking about the next.

Speaker 8 (26:05):
Play that one hundred yards. That is hard to do.
Bron goes again on top thirteen to ten. At halftime.
The forty nine Ers will be playing the rest of
their game without their safety, Telenoia Hufunga. He is out
because of a wrist injury. But right now the forty nine.
Ers are on top of the Cardinals at home twenty
to ten, less than two minutes to go in the
first half. But we're gonna start in London because that's

(26:25):
where football started today.

Speaker 6 (26:27):
And the Vikings fell as. They are still undefeated Minnesota.
It's five and out.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Garry is not happy about that, Listen.

Speaker 8 (26:33):
I picked the Jets to win, and then Aaron Rodgers
decided to throw another pick. Anyway, the Vikings did come
out on top, thank you, twenty three to seventeen on
that one. Aaron Rodgers after the game did say that
he has a low ankle spring. It's what he said.
We'll keep an eye on that. Ravens in a thriller
with the Bengals a shootout. They win it in overtime
with a twenty four yard field goal, but it was

(26:54):
really a shootout forty one to thirty eight.

Speaker 6 (26:56):
Lamar Jackson, I know.

Speaker 8 (26:57):
Travis Hunter is the alien when it comes to college sports,
but I think Lamar Jackson is the alien in the NFL.
He completed twenty six of forty two passes for three
hundred and forty eight yards and four touchdowns. Joe Burrow
thirty of thirty nine for three hundred and ninety two yards,
five touchdowns, and a crucial interception there at the end
of the game. But we're going to talk about Derek

(27:18):
Henry for just a hot second. He did have a
rushing touchdown. That is one hundred career touchdowns for that man,
and over ten thousand rushing yards.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
Ninety six rushing tds, and four receiving teas.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
It's absolutely it's a lot.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
That's a lot.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
That's crazy.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
Give it up for the Jaguars. They got their first
win of the season. They walked it off with a
forty nine yard field goal. They beat the Colts thirty
seven to thirty four. The Bears crushed the Panthers thirty
six to ten. The Texans walked it off with the
fifty nine yard field goal to beat the Bills twenty
three to twenty. But in reality, we're gonna say Houston survived.
They scored six points in the second half.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
They survived.

Speaker 8 (27:52):
The Dolphins outscored the Patriots fifteen to ten, and the
Commanders took down the Browns thirty four to thirteen. After
the game, Kevin Stefanski had to the brown says, we're
not changing quarterbacks. We need to play better I need
to coach better. That is what Kevin Stefanski said after
the game. Let's check in on baseball, where the Mets
are still beating the Phillies in Game two of the
NLDS from Philadelphia.

Speaker 6 (28:12):
It's two zero, bottom of the fifth inning.

Speaker 8 (28:14):
And in the WNBA, the New York Liberty are off
to the finals. They've defeated the Aces seventy six to
sixty two.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
They're either going to face.

Speaker 8 (28:21):
The Links or the Sun who are playing right now,
and the Links are up twenty nine to twenty four.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Back to you guys, Yeah, months, I think survive is
a really good way to put that Texans game, because yes,
not only the six points, it's actually how Buffalo got
back into the game. The Bills scored on a key
on coleman forty five yard touchdown pass where Coleman was
able to break a tackle. On that fourth and five
It was around fifty yards point being as Coleman just

(28:50):
caught a little button hook and ended up taking it
to the house because of a mistackle. The Bills were
able to pull even on a CJ. Stroud fumble when
he was pressured in deep in their own territory, which
allowed the Bills to set up and tie it. But
that game was dominated by Houston for the most part.
But that's not a pad on the back thing for Houston.

(29:12):
Tamanti's point is they survived. And if you're the Texans,
like those are the games that you have to figure
out how to put away against a really good opponent,
Because if Buffalo had anything anything more to give, if
Khalil Shakir is healthy in playing in this game, I
think Buffalo has an opportunity. Like the Bills are just

(29:33):
very shorthanded today and the Texans jumped out to that lead.
Those are the steps that I think that you have
to take. You look at a Minnesota team. They've passed
every single test that they faced so far this season,
and there's really no reason to question who they are.
I'm not questioning who the Texans are, but you know
there's going to be a game, possibly against the Chiefs,
possibly against the Ravens, possibly against one of these top

(29:56):
teams in the AFC, maybe the Buffalo Bills again, and
you're gonna have to figure out a way to put
that team away. Yeah, the Houston.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Texans have been their play hasn't been brilliant this year.
I was expecting more from them so far. Now they're
still winning. But like you said, I mean they don't
have that killer instinct yet and that takes time that
they're going to develop that. So I mean a win's
a win, a big win, but to your point, they
don't have the killer instinct yet and they have to
figure that out.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
These Seahawks did kick a field goal before the half,
getting into Giants' territory, So it is now a ten
to ten ball game between Seattle and the New York
Giants going to halftime. There Again, the Seahawks maybe kind
of peeking ahead. They've got an interesting schedule as they
played out there were Monday night in Detroit. Then you
come back, no matter where you play, when you play

(30:43):
in Seattle, it's a long flight, except to San Francisco,
there's distance to it. So you come back on a
short week, you have a home game. Giants have a
long flat as well. Not to make excuses, but now
then the Seahawks have a short week coming up this
week against San Francisco. You know, three games in ten
eleven days like the Jets had kind of to start

(31:03):
this season. Yeah, and this is one that could fall
through the cracks. If you are, you aren't careful just
because of how big the stakes could be next on
Thursday when the Niners come to town.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
Yeah, to play in this game, to play it and
play in the NFL. It's such a hard thing. Because
you just said it, it's a it's more than just
the physical play on the field, like the mental challenge
of being prepared each week, not overlooking.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Teams and just really going into games really.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
You know, obviously there's gonna be film study, that's going
to be stuff, opponent stuff that you have to be
ready for. But if you're not ready to play from
a mental standpoint and a physical standpoint, I mean some
of these games you can let go go through the cracks.
So they got to bounce back in the second half.
Is as bad as they're playing, it's still ten ten,
so they still have a chance.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Forty nine ers getting some good news. They don't have
their kicker, Jake Moody because the injury we talked about,
but they were able to get close enough where their punter,
Mitch Wishnowski was able to make a short field goal.
Kyle Yuschek was the one who was doing the holding
for San Francisco because Wishnowski would be the one that
would be holding Jake Moody's field goals, but since he's

(32:09):
not available, forty nine Ers kick a field goal to
end the half and now they're up twenty three to
twenty twenty six yard field goal.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
You think they practiced that during the week, Dan, what
do you think you think they practiced Kyle holding that
ball for this kick right here?

Speaker 2 (32:23):
I'm gonna say no. Yeah, I'll say no to go ahead. Well, yes,
because but it's a little different than the Giant situation
because Moody was hurt here in the second quarter. They
probably have practiced it at some point, right for sure,
where's situation just hey, Kyle takes some snaps here, let's
just see in case something happens. But I don't think

(32:44):
it would be something that you would practice every single week.
And that's where the Giants one in week two was
just such was so wrong because grand Gouno was already injured, yeah,
and there was no backup plan even though they deemed
him healthy for the game. You would think that something
would have gone on or they would have practice throughout
the week. But yeah, I don't think that Kyle Yustchek
was taking the snaps this week. Especially with a short

(33:06):
week next week, they're trying to get only so much
in He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Bayer. The Packers have
the football in Rams territory, down six thirteen to seven.
LA up that one second and seven with thirty seven
seconds left to go until halftime. In that contest, Green
Bay does have one time out remaining, as they've got
it down to the Rams nineteen yard line. The rest

(33:27):
of the action, that's all at the half. Denver leads
the Raiders thirteen to ten, Seahawks and Giants tied up
to ten, and we mentioned the Niners up twenty three
to ten on the Cardinals. He's carry Roads. Find him
at carry twenty five roads. You can find me at
Dan Byer on Fox look at your fantasy numbers. Next
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Blood has it sprints to his right on the r
in Rams. He's hit, He's not backed, he flipped it
shut down. HET's take it back for a touchdown. The
Jalen come I pick six the.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
First defensive score.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
I'm twenty twenty four. Once again, here's Dan Byer and
Carrie Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
That was the Rams Radio network on the call. Green
Bay has added a field goal just before halftime at
LA up thirteen to ten in that showdown at Sofi Stadium,
one of four late games we've got in this window.
He is the All Pro aka the Grand Marshal aka
Carry Rhodes. He will explain why we could call him

(34:33):
the Grand Marshall. I am dan Byer. Find me at
dan Byer on Fox. The other games at the half,
most of them Giants and Seahawks tied up at ten apiece.
The Broncos took a thirteen to ten lead on the Raiders.
They are just starting the second half in Denver. Broncos
have the ball again wearing their nineteen seventy seven throwback uniforms.
If you have a chance on social media, you'll have

(34:55):
to catch fast times with Carry Rhoads. Each week, Carry
breaks down a play on this show and then we
basically repurpose it with social media and give you a
visual aspect of the play that Carrie is talking about.
But we also have our decorations for the set each week,
and this week we've got the throwback Bronco helmet that
they are wearing matched up with that Silver and Black Raiders.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
So good that Bronco when it's so good man, Yeah,
everybody likes it.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
And this is the thing is now that the NFL
is brought back these throwback uniforms, they don't want to
do it full time because they say, well, fans will
buy both. They'll buy the throwback stuff and they'll buy
the current stuff. So it works for them for the
Broncos to bring these out. Just like the McRib. If
the McRib was on the McDonald's menu, I don't know
how much McRib you're eating if you want a shamrock

(35:46):
shake in October, No, you want one on March tenth.
And that's why they do it. And that's what the
NFL does with these throwback uniforms. What is the McRib?
What is it really? What is it really made of?
It's no bones? No, it's what Colorado? Mystery? Missy me?
What is that? Mystery? Shawls, it's a good sandwich. Ryan

(36:09):
Burschinger is here with some fantasy numbers. Let's do it.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Fantasy hits.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
And miss am I right, you're you're not craving a
shamrock shake right now?

Speaker 9 (36:21):
Bursch Right, No, not right, now, and I do love
the Shamrocks. Yeah, totally March You're like, yeah, awesome pumpkin stuff.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
I'm all about it right now. Yeah, no, spice, Yeah,
nobody wants one on March seventeen, right, Yeah, I don't
want it. Lise are all drunk anyway on Saint Patty's Day,
but I'm very much there. Absolutely.

Speaker 9 (36:41):
Let's let's focus in on some fantasy hits and misses here,
and of course a big game in terms of on
the hits the Ravens and Bengals, You're gonna see a
lot of hits on both sides here. Joe Burrow thirty
of thirty nine for three hundred and ninety two yards
and five touchdowns and an interception. Lamar Jackson twenty six
of forty two for three hundred and forty eight yards
and four to touchdowns with an interception. Also rush for

(37:02):
fifty five yards on twelve carries. So your top two
quarterbacks on the day coming from the same game. Travis
etn Owners. How are we feeling today? Because Nike Bigsby exactly,
Tank Bigsby is your top scoring running back on the day.
Thirteen rushes for one hundred and one yards, and two touchdowns.
On the ground, he had one catch on one target

(37:23):
for twenty eight yards. Now, etn did have some decent
receiving numbers today. It saved him from falling into the misses,
but you might be seeing him in the missus moving forward.
If Tank Bigsby is running this well for the Jaguars
and the game that they actually won, Jamar Chase your
top scoring receiver on the day. Ten catches on twelve targets,
four one hundred and ninety three yards and two touchdowns,

(37:43):
and Isaiah likely is your top scoring tight end on
the day three catches on three targets thirteen yards but
two touchdowns. Brock Bowers is probably going to pass him
up though, if he hasn't already.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Interesting thing to note.

Speaker 9 (37:54):
Yeah, Mark Andrews did have like five catches fifty yards
or so, but the third highest scoring tight end for
the Ravens in terms of fantasy numbers because his name's
not Bernie Cozar, what is it, Charlie Kohler. Yes, yeah,
Charlie Kohler. He got a touchdown, so yeah. Still weird
times for from Mark and Mark Andrews wear the same helmet.

(38:16):
Their numbers like eighty eight and eighty nine. He can't
they can't tell who is who?

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Yeah, what a disappointment for those that have Mark Andrews
and their fantasy lineup. So when they see Charlie Kohler,
they're like.

Speaker 9 (38:26):
Yes, no, no, no, it's bad enough.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Isaiah likely he's there for the Mark Andrews owners. Oh
my god, I know. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (38:35):
Let's look at some more disappointments here. Call Coler Bear
you think that's name? Yeah, should if he doesn't have
it already. Colar Sam Darnold, who had maybe worked his
way into a lot of fantasy lineups given the way
he performed throughout the start of the season. Here today
fourteen of thirty one for one hundred and seventy nine
yards and an interception.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
In London.

Speaker 9 (38:58):
Aaron Jones Devani Chan both left the game with injuries,
but Brice Hall another miss. Nine rushes for twenty three
yards on the ground, three catches on four targets for
fourteen yards. So this is something to definitely be concerned
for for Breece Hall owners. Not a ton of misses
on the receiver side. Yeah, Jerry Judy had one catch
on three targets sixteen yards. Xavier Lagette people were hoping

(39:19):
for a big performance from him, as Andy Dalton and
the Panthers had started to get things together. No Adam feeling,
but only one catch on one target for eight yards,
and Dalton Kinkaid only two catches on six targets for
thirty four yards. And those are your fantasy hit some
misses from the early game.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Yeah, I thought maybe Kinkaid would have a bigger role
considering Khalil Shakir was out, but that did not happen today.
I think Kean Coleman obviously will get big play today,
but be integrated more throughout the year. But I actually
think that the Buffalo Bills should be the team to
go after DeVante Adams if today didn't prove it. They
need someone like that, and I know it's not in

(39:55):
their plans, but if they could figure out a way
to do it, I think that the Buffalo Bills absolutely should.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
I think had somebody last year that was in that night. Yeah,
I think it's nice that ship sailed. Look at his
numbers of the second half of the year. Maybe maybe
Adams wants to go to Buffalo. All right, Giants are
punting on their first possession in the second half. We'll
keep you up to date of these four games next
year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
What we are learning in week five is that you
have to put away teams and you get the opportunity,
you can't give them second and third chances. Ask the
Cincinnati Bengals today, Houston Texans were almost burnt by it.
The Seattle Seahawks could use a lesson, er could learn
a lesson from those teams. The Giants come into town,
no Moleak, neighbors, no Devin Singletary, so they're limited on offense.

(40:47):
And now it's a ten to ten ball game, and
the Seahawks just gave it back to New York on
a fumble by DK Metcalf, So the Giants are going
to take over possession in a tie ballgame. One of
the four games we are looking at right now, andaziness,
as you heard Manti say, going on to the baseball
playoffs as well. We are focusing on the football. But
if something does happen in the NFL, like let's just

(41:08):
say Brock Purdy drops back to pass, gets pressured and
then the ball is tipped and picked off, we're gonna
tell you about it because that's just what happened in
Santa Clara. So the Niners trying to you're up thirteen,
carry to this point. This is the opportunity, nine minutes
to go in the third quarter, you go down and score.
It's a thirty to ten game. It's hot. It would

(41:30):
be late in the third quarter at that point. This
drive could seal the game for you. Yeah. Now, not
only do you not take advantage of that opportunity, you
turn the ball over and the Cardinals now we'll have
it first down to ten at the forty nine or
twenty five yard line in what is a thirteen point game.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
Yeah, that's the reason you keep playing hard. I know
you you can get frustrated, you can get defeated, you know,
demoralized that the game goes on. But the guys that
keep playing and continue to play hard, you know, the
ball seems to find them. So you said it earlier
in the year, Arizona plays hard. Keep playing hard, Sometimes
good things happen for you. We are broadcasting love for
the tirec dot com studios. Tyraq dot com will help

(42:08):
you get there. An unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free
road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended installers
tirec dot com the way tire.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
Buying should be. The four games going on right now,
the Broncos have a third and goal from the Raider
four yard line, up three in that contest, thirteen to ten,
and I believe McLaughlin has just gotten into the end
zone for Denver and they are calling it good. So
a touchdown for the Broncos. Julia McLaughlin with the touchdown

(42:39):
pass from five yards out from bo Nicks. So now
it's a nineteen to ten game. We'll see if they
go for two to make it an eleven point lead
or if they'll just kick the extra point and be
happy with the ten point advantage. As for Arizona, they
do have the ball now in forty nine Ers territory
after that turnover. They're just underway in La Packers and Rams.
Monty told you the Rams are up three in that

(43:00):
contest and the Rams have already got it into Green
Bay territories. They've just converted on a third and one now.
Earlier today, the Jacksonville Jaguars, who were winless at the
start of the day, we're one of those teams that
let the Colts back in it. Big play to Alec
Pearce to set things up. Jacksonville had a two score lead,
and the Colts end up pulling even at thirty four

(43:21):
a piece, but they survive on a Cam Little forty
nine yard field goal with under twenty seconds left to
go in the ballgame. But the Jaguars getting their first
win today isn't going to save Doug Peterson's job, and
a Colts loss may not put Joe Flacco in as
the fold tim quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts. But he

(43:45):
threw for three hundred and fifty nine yards and three
touchdowns today and brought them back in a game where
they were down two scores. We had Adam Kaplan, Who's
going to join us in fifteen minutes. Adam was on
last week and said, hey, here's the deal. He wanted
to go back to Cleveland. The Brown said, we'd like
to have you back, but then ultimately decided that it

(44:05):
wouldn't be good enough for Deshaun Watson to have Joe
Flacco overlooking him. Sure they would feel differently now, but
now you have a situation in Indianapolis where you have
this young quarterback carry. I don't think that the Colts
are knocking on the door of being an AFC contender
right now. But they sure do seem to be a
better football team than with Joe Flacco throwing the football around,

(44:30):
and the Giants have just gotten into the end zone
Daniel Jones to Darius Slayton. So now New York has
taken a sixteen to ten lead on the Seahawks in
that contest, and I think the Rams have just turned
it over against green Bay. Kiren Williams stripped as he
was probably down in about the twenty five yard line,

(44:50):
but so green Bay is going to stop that Rams
drive and get a turnover there. The point back to
Flaco and Richardson, though, here you are the Colts. You're
two and three right now. Season obviously not lost. They
seem to be better offensively. He had no Jonathan Taylor today,
so you had to rely on the arm of Joe Flacco.
What do you do with the quarterback situation? Oh man,
this is tough.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
I mean, obviously, if Flocko has played well, he's a
veteran guy that he's not He's gonna steady the ship.
He's going to be good enough for them to be
competitive in these games. We know what we know what
we're gonna get with him. Anthony Richardson is somebody that
has not played a lot of football, and we know
that we haven't seen enough of him to know who
he is. He's a guy obviously that can make big plays.

(45:31):
He can throw the ball deep, he can run the ball,
he can make you know, he can make certain plays
that obviously Floco can't make it his age. Yeah, so
the upside is still there, but you're not going to
keep Flocko for two more years. So it's really just
I think about this year and if he's good enough
for them to be in the playoff hunt. I think
he stayed with him, but you know, moving forward, he's

(45:54):
not going to be the guy long term.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
No, No, he absolutely won't be. But you're right because
and that's the deal with if you are Indianapolis at
this point, it's tough to just throw away a season.
And I'm not saying that they would do that with
Anthony Richardson, but I do feel that they are a
more complete football team. I thought they were that last
year with Gardner Minshew and this year with Joe Flacco

(46:18):
and in this day and age of rushing on a
quarterback and deciding on who is our guy and who
is not our guy. We've seen the Packers play it
in a way where even in Jordan Love's final time,
in leading up to it, they said, hey, we'll give
you a We're not going to pick up your option,
but we'll give you a two year deal. This is
how we will decide then the rest of the way

(46:39):
if you're going to be our guy or not. And
it works up working swimmingly for them, and then Jordan
Love gets his long term deal. This is only Anthony
Richardson's second year, so realistically, to your point, yeah, Joe
Flacco's not going to be their long term. But if
you want three more years to decide if Anthony Richardson
is your guy, you actually have that opportunity and it

(47:01):
wouldn't be a knock on it. The Colts with Gardner
Minshew were a borderline playoff team. With Joe Flako, the
Colts may be a borderline playoff team, but I just
don't think Anthony Richardson gives them their best chance to
win right now. So maybe take those next three years
and decide that instead of making a decision this year
and just throwing away what you've got this year.

Speaker 3 (47:22):
Well, Anthony Richardson situation is it's a little easier for
the Colts right now because he's injured. Now, this conversation
was him not playing well like a Carolina guy, like
a BREWI Young. Then the real controversy happens, right But
the fact that Anthony Richardson has been hurt and that's
been his reason for not, you know, being in there

(47:44):
and being able to have enough film for us to
actually critique him, I think that actually helps him as well.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
The Cardinals. By the way, on that forty nine ers turnover,
we're only able to get three, So it's twenty three
to thirteen, nine to fifty nine left to go in
the third core in that contest in Santa Clara, And
again the Seahawks now trail the Giants seventeen to ten.
As New York was able to capitalize on that turnover,
green Bay is just getting into the end zone. Tyler

(48:11):
Craft taking it to the house following that turnover, he
did a majority of the work. Yeah, and Tucker Craft,
I'm sorry, I call him Tyler. Tucker Craft ends up
scoring for Green Bay. So now it's a sixteen to
thirteen game. I should know because I'm playing Tucker Craft
this week. I should have realized that, but the turnover
turning into points. Giants do the same with their turnover,

(48:33):
and now green Bay ends up taking the lead in LA.
That's where we are with these late games. But I
think that Indianapolis in this scenario right here where I
don't think you need to go back to Anthony Richardson
when he's healthy. Right now, I think you just kind

(48:54):
of ride Flacco for what you've got, even with this loss,
Like Joe Flacca wasn't the reason that they lost today.
Their defense, it's probably the reason that they lost today.
And then a game where you don't have Jonathan Taylor,
you had Tray Sermon, you needed somebody to be able
to throw the football. And I just don't think that
Anthony Richardson is at that point of being the quarterback
that they wanted to wanted him to be when they

(49:15):
drafted him. It's just that if Flacco is playing this
well and you know what you're going to get, that's
what I would take right now at cash my chips
into that and knowing what I'm going to get, because
right now, with Anthony Richardson, you don't know what you're
going to get week in and week out. And if
you're trying to play the season and play this season out,
I think you gotta go with Flacco.

Speaker 3 (49:35):
I think the Colts had a contingency and plan, right.
I think that's the problem with a lot of these
teams where you talked about with Cleveland Lasahn Watson as
a veteran guy. Right, So you bring in, you keep
Flocko there the way did he played last year, he
would feel the pressure, right, that would be a different scenario. Yes,
this one is a perfect situation where Anthony Richardson can

(49:57):
also learn from Floco. And obviously, again we haven't seen
enough of him to know who he is yet. But
I mean, this is why you bringing a guy like
Flocko in this situation. Yeah, And you know what makes
this so difficult. It's not what Flacco did last year
in Cleveland. It's what Gardner Minshew did last year in Indianapolis.
That's what makes it so difficult because you said to

(50:18):
yourself last year, you know what, our quarterback got hurt.
He's not going to play the rest of the year.
Gardner Minschew comes in and seemingly has success, takes them
on the doorstep of the playoffs when they really weren't
expecting that. The reason that they got Anthony Richardson is
because they were drafting fourth in that draft. You didn't
look at them as a playoff team. So Gardner Minshew

(50:39):
ends up coming in and is a serviceable quarterback. And
so now Anthony Richardson has hurt again. Yeah, and you
feel like you're not getting this full look and you
want to give him the opportunity to determine. But that's
what I think makes this difficult. If Anthony Richardson had
played all of last year, just had a mediocre season,
I would have thought, Kerrie that it would have been,

(51:01):
all right, we'll just give the ball back to Anthony Richardson.
But now you've seen two separate years with two different guys,
how the offense seemingly operates better with that quarterback than
Anthony Richardson. Yeah, that's why I think this is so tricky.
And that was a major concern for him. Right, he
hasn't played a lot of football, so for him to
be able to digest an NFL playbook, be able to

(51:23):
you know, figure out what defense they're trying to do
to him in such a short amount of time, and
not having a lot of football availability and being able
to play in those games in those situations, it's a
tough one just from that standpoint alone and the way
that he plays, it's been really reckless. He has to
learn how to take care of himself. But yeah, this
is a situation where they need to let him sit

(51:44):
and you know, watch the veteran guy go to work.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
Brock Perdy just made an amazing play that isn't going
to go for any points for San Francisco, but by
his time, watch the pressure and moved around. I'll tell
you what, if there's anybody stock in my mind that
has gone up. But I know people were on the
party bandwagon a lot earlier than I was. I wuld't
even say I'm on the bandwagon, but I still wanted
to see a lot through these first now four and

(52:06):
a half games that we've seen of Brock Birdy. Yeah, boy,
he's lived up to everything and just did so on
the play right there. And I want to say Lamar
Jackson esque, but he bought on his time because nothing
is Lamar Jackson as considering the second touchdown he threw
to Isaiah likely today crazy stuff, but he keeps the
drive a forty nine or drive a live is they
are now driving against the Cardinals in that ten point game,
now down inside the twenty yard line. What's happening in

(52:29):
the other games? Well, Gardner Minshew was just intercepted in Denver.
So the Broncos have the football up ten, twenty to ten,
four minutes to go in the third quarter. As for
the Giants and that lead on Seattle, they hold on
to that seventeen to ten lead seven minutes to go
in the third quarter. Seahawks, though in Giants territory. The
Rams trying to answer back from that Packers touchdown. I've

(52:49):
already got a deep inside Green Bay territory. Excuse me,
I looked at the yard Light's wrong. They just received
the ensuing kickoff, So now they got it at the
thirty two yard line their own territory. Yes, not in
Green Bay territory. Rams up or excuse me? Packers up
seventeen to thirteen on the Rams with four minutes come
by in the third quarter. Quickly before we get to

(53:09):
Adam Kaplan or NFL insider, you had quite the week
this week. I call him the Grand Marshal because he
was the Grand Marshal. You were honored in a great
State of Alabama Homecoming Week and whatnot. Carrie Rhads a
grand marshal of the Homecoming Week parades. Yeah, it was amazing.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
I hadn't been home in a while, and especially my
hometown because my parents don't live there anymore. I moved
them away a little bit out of that city, sure,
but to go back there and to see a lot
of the friends and family and people that I've known
since I was a kid, and to be honored that
way and to feel the love back home and it
was a beautiful thing.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
Well, you deserve it. So congratulations on that. The Seahawks
kick a forty eight yard field goal from Jason Myers.
Giant's still leading that contest seventeen to thirteen. We are
allowed for the Tirek dot Com studios coming up next
to Adams be traded and why the Browns aren't making
a quarterbacking move Adam Kaplan. Our NFL insider will attempt
to answer those questions next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (54:20):
Live Packers trying to capitalize off the thirteenth takeaway of
the year by their defense and off play action.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Looking downfield right.

Speaker 5 (54:30):
Side, Tucker Craft right off and left sideline forty thirty
twenty five twenty.

Speaker 10 (54:35):
All right to the anzone to the textdown, Tucker Craft tight.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
Uping the left sidelines to the island zoon.

Speaker 4 (54:44):
He up Packers into the.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
Lead, and they weren't done. He's carried roads. I'm dan
Byer ninety seven point three of the game WRNW and
the Packers Radio Network as Xavier McKinney picked off Matthew
Stafford on the next Essien and now green Bay's got
it up four six forty five left to go in
the third quarter in Rams territory, seventeen to thirteen green Bay,

(55:09):
and now Josh Jacobs has taking a screen down to
about the twenty yard line. There's some I don't know
if it's fisticuffs or not, but the Cardinals and Niners
are going at it on the sideline. Trey McBride of
Arizona involved as part of that going on. But right
now the Niners have a twenty three to thirteen lead
on Arizona a minute to go in the third quarter.
The Giants continue to move the ball on Seattle, getting

(55:32):
in the red zone right now, second down for the Rams,
second down and twelve at the Seattle fourteen yard line.
It is seventeen to thirteen Giants on top of the Seahawks,
two twenty left to go in the third quarter and
a quarterbacking change has been made with the Raiders. They're
down ten in Denver, twenty to ten to the Broncos.
Aidan O'Connell into the game for Gardner Minshew. He has

(55:55):
carrier oads. I'm Dan Beyer, Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports.
You know NFL inside are joining us and just on
that news, Adam Gardner Minshew apparently as a short leash
with what's going on. I know it's not the Marquis
Day of the game, but they have enough problems in
Las Vegas with DeVante Adams and and everything with that.

(56:16):
Now with Aidan O'Connell in, does he solve anything for
the Silver and Black?

Speaker 11 (56:20):
Well, First of all, Mintscha played really well to start
the game. I mean he was on fire and then
he had a he had an awful interception.

Speaker 7 (56:27):
The pick six where they're.

Speaker 11 (56:28):
About to they're actually about to score, made a bad decision,
threw off the side and had another one, and Pierce Antonio,
Pierce Kanda let him have it a maybe two or
three weeks ago, kind of questioned him and then he
Mintshaw played well again, so it was kind of off
the hook. So yeah, we'll see what happens there. It's
it's really interesting, not that they're going to win this game,
but had they won this game, it would have been

(56:49):
interesting to see what they would have what they would
do with Devanta Adams. But one team told me that
everything that everything they've been given, all the information they
would have, would no matter what happened today, that they're
going to trade Adams and relatively soon.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
Yeah, I mean it makes sense. I'm seeing this game.

Speaker 3 (57:03):
I understand why DeVante Adams wants to lead if that's
the case that's going on. But uh, I want to
talk about that that Ravens Bengals game, the game all day.
How good was that? And it was it was such
a bounce back game for you know Cincinnati. I mean
as far as their offense, the offense looked like the
Cincinnati offense that we expected to come into the year.

(57:23):
And you know, I think the you know, the two
quarterbacks out dueling each other and seeing who's going to
outduel each other. Tell me about that game today and
your thoughts on that game.

Speaker 11 (57:32):
Yeah, look at the one concern and I knew this
would be a concern comer of the season. You've got
a new defenseive coordinator, Zach or is thirty two years old.
There's just gonna be there's going to be challenges and
this was Look, they won the game. Okay, I give
them credit. At the offense, Lamar was playmaking, he did everything. Actually,
it's what's funny is that overall numbers look good against

(57:52):
running the football.

Speaker 7 (57:53):
Yeah, they didn't really run the ball.

Speaker 11 (57:55):
Very well for three quarters, but uh, they got to
fit their defensive problems. They just don't have much of
a pass rush. They're not forcing turnovers like you'd like
them to. But the cool thing is Lamar spreading around.
They have a pass the game this season, there's no
question about it. Now with the Bengals, the season is
pretty much over. Now you're one and four. You're not

(58:15):
coming back. It's just their defense isn't good enough. Zack Moss,
who's their starting running back, got hurt with the right
ankle entry pretty bad. By the way, we'll see Mims,
who's filling the right tackle got hurt, you got cart
it off, So they got problems. But hey, look this division. Now,
this division's pretty interesting now with the Steelers, of course
playing tonight, the Steelers loser, tied for first. But then

(58:38):
you've got the Browns, who are one of the worst
teams in the National FOOTB League.

Speaker 7 (58:41):
There's no question about that.

Speaker 2 (58:42):
Kevin Stefanski spoke of the media. By the way, Adam
Kaplan our NFL inside are joining us here on Fox
Sports Radio. Packers are knocking on the door. It appears
that Tucker Craft got into the end zone again and
now they have called it a touchdown on the field.
So Green Bays extended their lead to ten with the
extra point pending against the Rams. Giants extended to lead
the seven over the Seahawks or the field goal. I

(59:04):
want you to hear just this a little bit because
this will set up what my next question is. Kevin
Stefanski asked about Deshaun Watson as the team starter after
today's loss to the Commanders. Yeah, we're not changing quarterbacks.

Speaker 7 (59:15):
We need to play better.

Speaker 2 (59:18):
So no change is does a change need to be made?
For something to go right in Cleveland right now.

Speaker 11 (59:25):
Yeah, obviously Watson's been horrendous. I mean, he hasn't played
good football since twenty twenty when he was tremendous. The
team was awful, but he was great. It's a bad quarterback.
He's one of the five worst in the National FOOTBA League.
He doesn't do anything right. He runs for the sake
of running, doesn't know where to go with the football.
It's kind of lost that secondary action ability when the
pocket breaks down or he breaks down prematurely.

Speaker 7 (59:45):
He don't know where to go with the football. He
just doesn't have.

Speaker 2 (59:48):
It, you know what. I I Saturday bad man, It's
really bad. And I know again that game was so
out of you know, off the radar, and you had
a couple of great games with the Ravens and Bengals
third and five and Deshaun Watson, who proclaimed he wasn't
a running back, you know, a week or so ago. Yeah,
runs out of bounds a half yard short of the

(01:00:08):
first down. And I'm not I'm not saying sacrifice your
body at that point, but you were a half yard
short and that to me just said I just said everything.
I mean, it was, it was they ended up getting
the first down on the fourth and short, but as
you're scrambling, it was in a scenario where it was
just and so it just it just looks bad and
everything just seems to stink in Cleveland right now.

Speaker 11 (01:00:31):
Yeah, in their defense, Dan has really not been as
good as they would hope it would not.

Speaker 7 (01:00:35):
Just has been disappointing.

Speaker 11 (01:00:37):
I know, Jim Schwartz, but it's very simple why Deshaun
Watson's playing. Is still playing forty six million to do
this season, the next, the following two seasons. Obviously, if
this continues, which you would think it's going to continue,
that he plays badly because he's shown no hope. But
if it's an absolute train record gets bench for Jameis
Winston and he doesn't get his job back, they're on
the hook for ninety two million over the final two seasons,

(01:00:59):
and obviously no one would take that contract. It's it's
really crippled the team, folks, it really is.

Speaker 7 (01:01:05):
It's a shame. Brown's fans des are better. They've been
through a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
We don't know.

Speaker 11 (01:01:09):
We don't need to go through the litany of quarterbacks.
There's that T shirt that's out that we're pretty yeah.
I don't know if you guys have seen that.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
The jersey they adding the names.

Speaker 7 (01:01:17):
Yeah, pretty interesting, right, But look, it's funny.

Speaker 11 (01:01:19):
I was talking to Brian Hoyer this week, he former
Browns quarterback. But look, it's a disaster. They're really bad.
And it's funny. When that over under was out at
eight and a half, I'm like, God, they'll get that,
no problem because the defense is good. But i'dn't expect
the defense to beat as bad as it's been so far.

Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
They've been my biggest disappointment this year for sure, by far.
But let's talk about the night game tonight. Let's talk
about the Cowboys and the Steelers and what you're looking
for in that game. You got the Cowboys coming in
at two and two, the Stellers that three and one,
and Dallas minus some defensive players this game. Let's talk
about that one.

Speaker 11 (01:01:49):
Yeah, Dallas has got some major pass rush concerns with
Michael Parsons and his high ankle spraying.

Speaker 7 (01:01:53):
He's week to week.

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
Yep.

Speaker 11 (01:01:56):
Tac Lawrence is going to miss the majority of the
season with it. He's a severe mid foot spring. That's
not good. They brought Carl Lawson in out of mothball,
so to speak. The German defensive end who was once
one of the better edge rushers in the league.

Speaker 7 (01:02:08):
But he hasn't been the same since torn Achilles.

Speaker 11 (01:02:10):
You're going to watch tonight, Cowboy fans number ninety four
Marshawn Kneeland, their second round pick at a Western Michigan
who they're very high on, and the opposite him. They'll
just still rotate guys and they just don't have very much.
That's a problem. They expect Trevon Diggs to go. He
I think he has an anco injury.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
Now.

Speaker 11 (01:02:28):
Look, Brandon Cooks is out, so yeah, they've got a
problem with a lot of problems. The Steelers are Look,
they've got free offensive line injuries, but they're gonna get
aac Sa Maluh was their best lineman last year, I'm told,
left guard, so he's going to play tonight. Also, you
know Zach Fraser, they're center number fifty four. They are
really happy with him. He's been a good he's been
a good story. But one issue that I do have

(01:02:48):
is at running back. Patterson's out looked good last week
before he got hurt. He hurt his ankle. Jalen Warren's
out again. With his knee injury, so they don't have
any explosive and set running back.

Speaker 7 (01:02:58):
That is a little bit of concern going to this game.

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Adam Kaplan hit him up at Kaplan NFL Pro Football Network,
Inside the Birds podcast and our Fox Sports Radio NFL
Inside are joining us here in Week five again, Packers
up eleven on the Rams. The Niners and Cardinals are
right now in a tough one and Arizona is driving,
and the Niners don't have a kicker right now. Jake
Mudy got hurt in this game, so they had to

(01:03:20):
go for it out of fourth and twenty three from
about their own thirty one yard line because they didn't
want to have Wishnowski kicked that long field goal, and
so now in a ten point game and Arizona inside
the five yard line, that could prove to be crucial
in this setup here. If Arizona scores, I wouldn't doubt
if they end up going for two knowing that the
forty nine ers can't kick a field goal. We'll see

(01:03:40):
how it all plays out. I do want to ask
you about what this week could be for Devonte Adams, sure,
but I want to kind of take it from a
Bill's perspective because without Khalil Shakir today, Josh Allen was
really missing that go to receiver. And I know that
Khalil Shakira is not the top of the line receiver
that we look we had in the National Football League,

(01:04:01):
but he is very comfortable with him. Would a game
like today move the Bills to maybe get into the
Devonte Adams talk anymore than they already have been.

Speaker 11 (01:04:12):
Yeah, the problem there is I know they have some
passing interest in him that the problem is to cash.
They're not from what I'm told, they probably won't take
on the cash of Adam's contract. So he's making just
under a million a week, and that is part of
why if it doesn't get done this week, I know
there's a push around the league from talking to people
that this deal should get done over.

Speaker 7 (01:04:29):
The next week.

Speaker 11 (01:04:30):
But if it doesn't, you got the complication of how
much cash teams are willing to take. Are they going
to force the Raiders to take part of that? The
Rays would like to get a second round pick, It's
not going to be easy.

Speaker 7 (01:04:42):
Now.

Speaker 11 (01:04:42):
What they can do is one team suggested to me
maybe to get a third and a fifth. You know
there are other ways to get this deal done. Look,
you have the Keenan Allen deal that was a third
round pick I believe with the Bears earlier this year.
So you have got that with two older receivers. For comparison.
Six teams do look at that. They look at what
it called comparables acquisition comparable, so you could take a

(01:05:05):
look at that. But yeah, it's Look, it's the thing
with Adams is he could tilt the power here, Like
if he goes to Pittsburgh, They're another team that I
don't think would pay the cash. I know they have
some interest, but the Saints are the Saints and Bikana
as I understanding, pushing in the full court press here,
so that that's interesting.

Speaker 7 (01:05:23):
With Khaliel Shakir, Shakier's.

Speaker 11 (01:05:25):
Kind of a it's a good player, he's explosive, but
he's not a guy commands to the football. They and
they like to go with more eleven personnels to understand it,
and they really can't do that with what they have now.
So that's part of it. And obviously the Jets. But
that I give the Jets credit. And I got to
mention Brian Floress. Folks, we Dan you and I have
done segments for years here on Fox Sports Radio, show
me a better defense coordinator?

Speaker 7 (01:05:45):
Right now? It's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
Yeah, especially with the pieces that we thought Minnesota didn't
have on d exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Yeah, and that's what I was going to get at,
right They they're not like a superstar defensive team.

Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
It's it's been a lot of this game there.

Speaker 3 (01:05:58):
But yeah, I was going to ask you that, who
do you think he's the front runner for DeVante Adams?
I've been hearing the Jets obviously as a Jet guy,
But who's the front runner right now?

Speaker 11 (01:06:06):
Do you believe it's really it's going to come down
to this, The front runer would be who's willing to
take Who's who's willing to handle the cash? Because again,
he's making just under million dollars a week. It's just
DeVante Adams.

Speaker 7 (01:06:20):
Uh. To me, Joe Douglass is fighting for his job here.

Speaker 11 (01:06:24):
They have to make to even come back for this
coaching stafford front offs to come back. That's the belief
around the league is that they're going to have to
make the playoffs just to even have the conversation for
everybody to come back. You know, Mike Williams he's you know,
he's come back from the ACL. He's given him what
they can They were not expecting. By the way, this
is this production from Alan Bizard of all people who
would not even be on the team, not for the

(01:06:44):
ten million full of guaranteed, he wouldn't be there. So
it's they know they have to do something at wide receiver.
And again, I don't put odds on these things unless
I know it's a lock, and there's no lock here.
It's it's kind of a New Orleans really wants them.
It's it's that's the word around league. It's like they
want them little bit more than I spitted. But let's
see what happens when the Jets get back from London

(01:07:05):
this week.

Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider hit them
up at Kaplan NFL. Enjoy the rest of week five.
We'll talk to in week six at them.

Speaker 7 (01:07:14):
Oh guys, thank you, Adam.

Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
All right, let's go to the news desk. Monte Belanos
is here watching the Seahawks fail on a fourth and
one in their own territory.

Speaker 6 (01:07:22):
Yeah, not so for your Seahawks. No, no, no bueno.
Daniel Jones is pretty bueno today.

Speaker 8 (01:07:28):
Twenty of twenty seven two hundred and forty yards, two touchdowns.
The Giants with the ball are beating the Seahawks guest
twenty to thirteen early in the fourth quarter. The forty
nine Ers holding on to their lead over the Cardinals,
even though they didn't score in the third quarter at all,
they're still on top twenty three, they're thirteen. They also
are just getting started in the fourth quarter. The Broncos
Bonnicks sixteen of twenty four one hundred and sixty six yards,

(01:07:50):
one touchdown. I didn't see it live, but there is
a clip on social media of bo Nix and Sean
Payton maybe having an exchange that seems a little bit animated.
You can find it on social media. But the Broncos
are on top of the Raiders twenty to ten early
in the fourth The Packers in the Rams just ended
the third quarter with the Packers outscoring the Rams twenty
four to thirteen. Jordan Love twelve of eighteen two hundred

(01:08:12):
and thirteen yards, two touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Cardinals just got into the end zone. But I just
want to bring up the point. They are going for
two yes in the scenario that we talked about, and
there's a couple of reasons for this got it. But
they did do what I thought they would do. Sorry, no,
you're good.

Speaker 8 (01:08:27):
You're good, and they got it. Twenty three to twenty
one is the score. Forty nine ers on top of
the Cardinals, So you guys were right on top of that.
The Vikings are still undefeated. Phellas football today started in London.
They took down the Jets twenty three to seventeen. They
are still undefeated. The Jaguars get their first one of
the season. They walked it off with the forty nine
yard field goal from Cam Little to beat the Colts

(01:08:48):
thirty seven to thirty four. Now in baseball, things got
exciting in Philly between the Phillies and the Mets. They
tied the game in the sixth inning with back to
back homers from Bryce Harper then Nick Castillano. Well, the
Mets have taken the lead Brandon Nimmo with a solo shot,
so New York is back on top four to three.

Speaker 6 (01:09:04):
It's the bottom of the eighth inning. This is game
two of the.

Speaker 8 (01:09:07):
NLDS And a quick update on the Associated Presses College
Top twenty five Pole Well, Alabama lost to Vanderbilt. Yes,
so they were the number one team. They dropped all
the way down to seven. Yes, Texas moved back into one.
Ohio State moved up to two. Ore again sitting at three,

(01:09:30):
they moved up as well. Penn State moved up to four.
Georgia stayed at.

Speaker 6 (01:09:33):
Five, and that rounds out the top five.

Speaker 2 (01:09:36):
Thank you, guys, Thank you very much, Manci. And Montsy's
got some stuff to deal with in her studios, so
we will let her be. If you need to come
in here to get safe from whatever whatever is in
the rafters just moving. Fox Sports Radio Studios.

Speaker 8 (01:09:48):
Ryan can confirm he went and heard it move, So
sucks happening. Maybe they're playing football up there, and I
don't know who A bat, a rat, I don't know, wow,
but something's going.

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
On, cat Nerek, that's why, not why.

Speaker 6 (01:10:04):
It could be anything.

Speaker 8 (01:10:06):
And this is why I did the update standing because
I'm ready to run out if necessary, fellows.

Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
But yeah, back to you, thank you, Manzi. And again
this forty nine Ers Cardinals game in a scenario where
in this late window both Seattle and San Francisco came
in as as bigger favorites. The Seahawks right now are
down seven after failing to get that fourth down, and
the Giants are facing a third and three from the
Seahawks eleven yard line. They are unable to convert, but

(01:10:33):
still you can go out there and kick a field
goal and go up ten, something the forty nine ers
are unable to do. And that is why it's not
as much I do think playing the underdog role Carrie
in that scenario. Other underdogs, even if the other team
had their kicker, would go for two in that scenario,
so they know what they've got. There was even talk
about it with the Jets and Vikings game earlier today.

(01:10:56):
But what the difference here is is there's only twelve
others still eleven minutes left. Not only there's still eleven
minutes left in this game, so there's a lot of
football to be played. But knowing the forty nine ers
can't really kick a field goal unless they get within
a thirty yard field goal attempt gives Arizona a lot
of leeway and knowing they're probably not going to score

(01:11:19):
if we just keep them out of the end zone,
and so that keeps it as a two point game
and allowing them to still win the game by a
field goal. But the injury to Jake Moody is surely
proving to be costly right now for the forty nine
ers who just have this two point edge and really
haven't gotten the running game going now until Jordan Mason
breaks one in and crosses midfield. But that's why I

(01:11:40):
thought Arizona would go for it, knowing that San Francisco
really didn't have the luxury even if they move the
ball to go and attempt a field goal and to
go up five in that scenario.

Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
Yeah, it just puts the importance on the kicker in
the game of football. I know a lot of times
they get overlooked. Being able to have you know, people
call it a luxury is not a luxury. It's part
of what makes football football. If you don't have a kicker,
then you're put at the mercy of having to go
four on fourth down making. You have to change a
lot of your decision making as you go in the game,

(01:12:09):
and so as a trickle down, trickle down effect that
happens when when your kicker is not available. And we're
seeing it right now. Patrick Utans got a second interception
of the game, this time on a deflectionary tip ball,
and the Broncos are on their way to victory twenty
seven to ten over the Raiders ten minutes to go.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
In the game. So even though Bo Nicks and Sean
Payton were having words, they're likely going to have a
victory celebration as they are going to end that losing
streak that you mentioned earlier to the Silver and Black.

numbers coming up next. Plus a rule that the NFL

it asap. That's next here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
That was KMBR and the forty nine Ers radio network,
and they were not happy to see Arizona get a
little closer, and they're really not going to be happy
when you hear this. A fumble for San Francisco, Jordan
Mason fumbed the ball as the Niners were driving inside
the fifteen yard line, recovered by Arizona at their own

(01:13:28):
nine yard line, and so now the Cardinals down two
with under six minutes left to go, face the second
and one from their own eighteen yard line. San Francisco
does not have a kicker right now in Jake Moody.
They did use their punter, Mitch Wishnowski earlier in the
game to kick a short field goal when Moody got
injured on a kickoff. But Arizona now all three timeouts,

(01:13:51):
carry only down two after that costly turnover by San Francisco. Yeah,
it was you.

Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
I was counting my what is it called rooster's chicken
before they hatch Thank you, Yes, I was doing that.
And with saying this, San Francisco is about to put
the game away on that long drive. You know they're
running back trying to make an extra extra yard. Has
played be tough and you know, wiggle out and make
some make some more yards and lost the ball. And

(01:14:19):
now we got a new game. Arizona has a chance
to win this game. Down stretch, we think Denver and
Raiders game is pretty much over. It's thirty four to
ten in favor of Denver. Raiders have switched quarterbacks. Aidan
O'Connell's in the other two games may not be over,
but I'll tell you the teams that are leading right
now have been dominating as of late. The Packers are
up on the Rams twenty four to thirteen, ten minutes

(01:14:39):
to go, Plus green Bay has the football, they're near midfield.
Rams have had trouble stopping the run all season long,
so that really bides well for green Bay. And here
you have the New York Giants coming to Seattle and
they have dominated from the get go. They haven't led
from the get go, but they have dominated from the
get go a twenty three to thirteen games and they

(01:15:00):
just stopped Seattle on a third and twelve. Gino Smith
was sacked and Seattle forced to punt it back to
New York who now is the football up ten at
their own nineteen yard line and just nine to thirty
left to go in this contest. And again the Giants
playing without Molik Neighbors and Devin Singletary today. Yeah, this
Seattle game is it's gonna be a tough one for

(01:15:21):
them to swallow.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
It's you come into a game you said it earlier.
I mean, it's gonna be a short week they played
at forty nine ers next week. Obviously, you know the
giants without my league neighbors, and they're running back out sectary.
You're you're supposed to win this game, and the fact
that they're down by ten right now just shows the
lack of preparation and mentally, you know, not being ready

(01:15:42):
to play this game.

Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Here's the other thing, when we're gonna look at our
fantasy numbers. If Arizona does take the lead, then San
Francisco would be down one with no kicker. So this
is the bind that the forty nine ers find themselves in.
Is Arizona has now gotten out to all most midfield.
Both teams have all three of their timeouts. But something
we're gonna watch right now. We're gonna take a look

(01:16:06):
and listen some fantasy numbers. Ryan Berschinger is here with
our fantasy numbers. I do have a quick question, bursch Yes,
this week someone reached out because do the podcast with
Mike Armen and I want your flex. They wanted fantasy
advice and they asked about Tank Bigsby and I said,

(01:16:27):
I wonder if Bigsby has a bigger role this week.
Oh is that? Is that a comment? Like, hey, go
with Bigsby or is that me being wishy washy?

Speaker 9 (01:16:37):
That is a keep your eye on Bigsby. But it's
not necessarily like you gotta start them.

Speaker 7 (01:16:42):
It is.

Speaker 9 (01:16:43):
It is a let's think it's more for than of
course against, absolutely absolutely all right, yes, yeah, no, it
was a good word of advice. I mean, nobody expected
thirteen for one hundred and two, but sure, and.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
To that's it is what it is. Let's look at these.

Speaker 9 (01:17:00):
Late window games. Here, shely the hits and misses from
these four late window games. Your top scoring quarterback from
these games, it's Daniel Jones, even without moleak neighbors. He
is twenty for twenty seven with two hundred and forty
yards and two touchdowns through the air. Ten rushes for
thirty nine yards on the ground, So an impressive game
for Daniel Jones. Your top scoring running back from this
late window. Here, it's Javonte Williams. Twelve rushes for our

(01:17:24):
fifty eight yards on the ground, five catches on six
targets for fifty yards through the air. Your top scoring
receiver from these games. I want to highlight a couple
guys here we are top scoring. One is Darius Slayton,
who is stepping up in neighbors absence seven catches on
nine targets for one hundred and sixteen yards and a touchdown.
But it also should be mentioned Brandon Nyuk seven catches
on ten targets for one hundred and twenty seven yards,

(01:17:45):
So we're seeing Ayuke tarts light.

Speaker 2 (01:17:47):
Clayton's got eight. Now, oh hey, look at that another one?
Can you kick? Just curious, by the way, the Cardinals
are facing a fourth and five now at their own
forty yard line, So as you give those numbers two
forty nine left to go with, they have all three
of their timeouts.

Speaker 9 (01:18:01):
Go ahead, Birch a couple strong tight ends from these games.
Brock Bowers six catches on nine targets for eighty four
in a touchdown, and oh, George Kittle is out cracked
up there as well, seven catches on eleven targets for
forty nine yards and a touchdown, and of course Tucker
Craft outscoring them all with four catches on five targets
for eighty eight yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
Cardinals converted on that fourth and five a pass to
Marvin Harrison Junior. Well, now they get the first down.
In forty nine ers territory.

Speaker 9 (01:18:28):
That changes his fortunes a little bit. He was on
the misses here because prior to that catch, Marvin Harrison
had one catch on six targets for twenty two yards.
So a second catch here for Marvin Harrison junior. Matt
Stafford's seventeen of twenty eight for one hundred and fifty
five yards in an interception just not able to get
anything going through the air against the Packers Kenneth Walker.

(01:18:48):
The Seahawks seemed to be struggling to do anything on
the ground against the Giants right now. Five rushes for
nineteen yards, three catches on three targets for twenty eight yards,
and Gino Smith is actually their leading rusher at the moment.
Zach Scharboney only two rushes for about eleven yards, and
Deebo Samuel has not done much for the Niners so
far one catch on four targets form only thirteen yards,
as Brandon Ayuk and George Kittle have strong games.

Speaker 2 (01:19:10):
First, how many how many rushing Jostdino Smith had thirty two?
I believe he should have had thirty three. Nah, he
carries a there's a third and thirteen and he ended
up running for twelve yards and slid a yard short,
and then they didn't convert on the fourth down. Oh boy,
tough one to take. Yes, and those are your fantasy

(01:19:31):
It's a missus, Thank you very much, Ryan Berschinger. And
here's the deal with Arizona. The forty nine ers may
not have to worry about kicking a field goal because
they may not get the football back. Two minute warning.
San Francisco leads Arizona twenty three to twenty one, and
Arizona's just got a first down down to the twenty
two yard line. San Francisco has all three of their timeouts,

(01:19:52):
but the Cardinals could move some clock here if they
get another first down and really make it difficult for
San Francisco. Wow, thirty four to ten. Broncos lead the
Raiders twenty three to thirteen. Giants up on the Seahawks
with six minutes left, and the Packers continue to hold
that lead over the Rams twenty four to thirteen with
seven minutes to go in Los Angeles. Today in London,

(01:20:14):
one play broke the back of the New York Jets.
Carrie will break it down next on Fox.

Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:22):
Radio. We got some barnburgers going on in Santa Clara
and in Seattle where the Cardinals are trying to pull
the upset against the Niners and the Giants. Right now
we're trying to do so to the Seattle Seahawks. He
is carry roads. I'm Dan Bayer, and we are broadcasting
out for the tirek dot Com studios tyrec dot com.
We'll all you get there an unmetch selection, fast free shipping,

(01:20:43):
free road as a protection, and over ten thousand recommended
installers tyrec dot com the way tire buying should be.
So here's the most pressing scenario right now. Arizona was
facing a third and ten and they have gotten six
yards on the ground from Kyler Murray. So it brings
up a fourth and four. They will attempt to kick
a field goal, probably about a thirty five yard er,

(01:21:06):
I would say, as they got down to the San
Francisco seventeen yard line. So Arizona will now attempt for
the go ahead field goal off the boot of Chad Ryland, who,
by the way, earlier today had one blocked and returned
for a score. You wonder if that's in his mind,
But this would give Arizona the lead, and if you're

(01:21:27):
just joining us, we'll tell you the problem that San
Francisco has on their side of the football. But Ryland's
field goal is up and it's good, almost blocked, but
it wasn't. So Ryland is good from thirty five yards
that has given Arizona a twenty four to twenty three lead.
The forty nine ers are out of timeouts, and if
you're just joining us, they lost kicker Jake Moody in

(01:21:48):
the second quarter because of a leg injuries he tried
to make a tackle. They were able to have their
punter Mitch Wishnowski kick his twenty six yard field goal
earlier in this game, with Kyle Yustcha serving as the holder,
But now here you are down one with no timeouts
and a minute forty minute thirty seven left on the clock.
In San Francisco really can't play for a field goal

(01:22:09):
unless it's a chip shot in the situation, and even
if it is a chip shot, you don't have your
normal pieces in there, which makes it that much more
difficult of a proposition carry.

Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
Yeah, this is a daunting task for the forty nine ers,
for sure. We talked about earlier, not having your kicker
available in these situations is such a dire thing for
a team, and especially in a situation down by one
a minute thirty seven left with no timeouts to score
a touchdown is pretty much you know, it's not impossible,

(01:22:39):
but it's gonna be a tall task, and so we
got to see what can happen here, see if we
can get some pretty magic.

Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
These Seahawks are driving against the Giants. They have gotten
down to the five yard line. We'll have a first
and goal from the five, Kenneth Walker the third to
pass out of the backfield. But they're down ten. They
have all three other timeouts. They are going for the
touchdown here. They're on the other side of the two
minute warning. There's two fifteen in counting. So Seattle would
like to score, and score now if they can otherwise.

(01:23:09):
Now you're in a scenario with thirteen seconds as you
think about the timeouts and how things are used, honestly,
because that timeout is so big. Well, actually, I'm going
to take that back. I was thinking out loud here, Carrie.
What I was gonna say was, if you kick the
field goal now, it'd probably be two on nine left

(01:23:29):
on the clock. You boot the ball out of the
end zone. Then you essentially have four timeouts to go,
but you need a touchdown no matter what anyway. So
Seattle is like Hex since we're down here, and then
we'll just hope that we can stop them on their
fresh set of downs and get the football back. But
in hearing myself out loud, I realized that probably wasn't
the best case. And Seattle gets in the end zone anyway,

(01:23:52):
they're likely Jackson Smith and Jigba. Now it's in the
end zone. So now it's a four point game. They're
going to try to make it a three point game.
San Francisco will have it for and ten at their
own twenty seven again no timeouts. Down one to Arizona.
The Rams are knocking on the door. They're down eleven
to Green Bay. It's a first and goal at the
two yard line. It's twenty four to thirteen, and the

(01:24:12):
Rams have gotten into the end zone. DeMarcus Robinson the
touchdown reception on the pass from Matthew Stafford. So the
Rams likely to go for two in the scenario to
make it a three point game. Right now, it's a
five point game, and brock Party was just intercepted and
the Cardinals are going to leave Santa Clara wow with
a twenty four to twenty three win. His arm was

(01:24:33):
hit not too dissimilar to the play that we saw
him get injured on in the NFC Championship game where
he tried to make a pass. Party is fined by
the way. He was not injured on the play, but
the ball then was deflected up And this was something
that you pointed out throughout the game. This is in
the first Rock Party pass today that we've seen get
some get a hand on it. This time it was

(01:24:54):
the pressure that got to Purty and the Cardinals are
going to leave Santa Clara with a one point win. Yeah. Well, quarterbacks,
you know, a little shorter in stature.

Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
I mean throughout the week it's always talked about if
you can't get home on the rush, get your hands up.
There's been a lot of bad at ball with this game,
both sides, with Kyler Murray being a shorter guy as well.

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
Tip ball.

Speaker 3 (01:25:13):
We always say on the defense, tip ball's we got
to get them. And so Arizona got that one right there.
And this is a big, big, big loss and a
big win for the Cardinals.

Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
There were reports earlier this week that Christian McCaffrey could
return at any point won't be this Thursday against Seattle
in Week six, but from any point between Week seven
and possibly in almost mid November until the when the
forty nine Ers come back from their bye week. But
that's not the problem with this team right now. There's
just something that is just a little off. And we

(01:25:48):
look at the Bengals and we point to the Bengals
and we say they always get off the slow starts. Yep,
that's who the Bengals are. And then they play a
good game last week against Carolina and we say, oh,
here come the Bengals. Then we at one point we
think that they're going to win today against the Ravens
or like status quo. I don't think it's as easy
as that. I don't think it's as easy as San
Francisco just turning it on. I think that there's a

(01:26:11):
lot of you know, damage and collateral damage that came
from losing a Super Bowl last season that you just
can't replicate when a lot of stuff goes your way
this year. And I think we're seeing it early out
for a forty nine Ers team that's now going to
fall to two and three.

Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
Yeah, remember early on before the season started, Dan I said,
I expected them to start a little slow, not in
this fashion obviously two and three. I don't think a
lot of people saw them being there at this point
in the season. But we saw this last year, that
situation last year where they started off slow as well
last year, and same with the Bengals, and the Bengals

(01:26:46):
seemed to you know, well, last year they didn't do it,
but the year before that they did.

Speaker 2 (01:26:50):
Forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
Last year started a little slow, pickup steam as the
season gets on and starts to be that machine that
we you know, we expect them to be. But this
is this is a lost that you can't have for them.
They were up big, they should have beat this team
and put them away.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
They let them hang.

Speaker 3 (01:27:04):
And on your theme to start the show, we're talking
about the Texas not being able to put the Bills away.

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Same situation here, Yeah, Cardinals hung around forty nine ers.
Then we're a bit hamstrung with their kicking situation. Yep,
still doesn't that doesn't matter when Jordan Mason fumbles on
a first down carry, right, that doesn't That's right, that
doesn't matter at all. In this scenario, So the Cardinals,
that's a final. Cardinals go to Santa Clara and top
the forty nine Ers today twenty four to twenty three.

(01:27:32):
They're at the two minute warning in Seattle, the Seahawks
and Giants in that tight affair. The game really has
been dominated by New York for the most part, but
it's the Giants of the three point lead is they
are at the two minute warning, Giants facing a second
down and six from their own twenty six yard line.
That's what we've got between the Giants and Seahawks. As

(01:27:53):
for the Packers and Rams, who told you the Rams
ended up getting into the end zone. A two point
conversion attempt failed for Los Angeles, so it is a
five point game, twenty four to nineteen, three point thirty
left to go, and the Broncos are still trying to
put their finishing touches on the Raiders. Let's get to
one of our favorite parts of the show. Carry Rhodes

(01:28:14):
breaks down a key play from week five. We like
to call this segment Road.

Speaker 4 (01:28:20):
Game Huge Hit by Carry Road Fast Times with Gary Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (01:28:25):
This was the scenario Kerry in London between the Jets
and Vikings third and six, first quarter action. Minnesota's up
three to nothing on the Jets. But Aaron Rodgers and
the Jets have the football third and six from the
Minnesota thirty eight yard line. Three receivers right, one left.
They blitzed under.

Speaker 5 (01:28:43):
Directed and they played for it picked up but Van
Ginkle near side.

Speaker 10 (01:28:48):
Of the fifty punus timeline forty loose and Rouvale Gemko
has put Aaron Rodgers won the fifth pick sixth of
his career.

Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
The score to get things really going in London. You
heard it there on k Fan one hundred point three
FM and the Vikings radio network a huge playing the game.

Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
The Jets were in Minnesota territory, third and six, three
by one set eleven personnel. They like to put Garrett
Wilson in the slot, which they did in this play.
Minnesota showed an all out blitz look on this play,
and they've been doing this a lot as the season
has gone on. They line up and they'll wrinkle off

(01:29:37):
of that. For the Vikings this year has been they'll
show it, they'll come sometimes sometimes they'll show it and
they'll drop off. On this particular play, they drop off
fool Aaron Rodgers. He throws to the his hot read
there because of the look of the all out blitz
pressure Van Winkle. Then Hinkle goes back and he does

(01:29:58):
like he does many other times.

Speaker 2 (01:29:59):
Banginko, Ben gekle is, I've been trying to get it right.

Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
Ben Ginkle, he drops off in it and he reads
Aaron Rodgers' eyes, picks it off and what he does
a lot of times he picks those off and takes
him to the house.

Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
He goes for big play. It was a.

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
Sixty one yard interception return for a touchdown. Pilltill play
in this game, big win for the Vikings in London
to kick off the London series and Minnesota is now
five and zero after a big play from Ben Ginkle.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
You said that the Vikings showed all all blitz, but
obviously they didn't with Van Gingle dropping back. Ye, all
all blitz would also mean man coverage. Yet did Aaron
Rodgers make a mistake and focusing on just throwing the
ball to Garrett Wilson in this scenario where Ginkle was
right in the path in the direction of that past.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
Well, in all out blitz, Look, you're gonna get get
the ball out quickly. They're going to call their hot route.
So the play and his thinking was correct in that look.
But if you know that in certain situations, you know
Minnesota likes to drop off and do that guy and
drop off, have a guy in the window, you got
to make the gotta make the right read. He didn't
make the right read on net play, big play by Minnesota.

(01:31:06):
Blind Flora says, this guy's playing well on defense. And
again Minnesota with a big play to win the game.
And this is fast times. With fast times, we got
a voice guy that I forgot. You don't have to
worry about that. You got that off of your plate.

Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
Is off. Vikings go to five and zero on a
tough loss for the Jets today in London. This is
what's happening in Seattle. The Seahawks have now forced the
Giants to punt the football. Giants unable to convert on
a third and four, so it's twenty three to twenty
Giants on top of Seattle a minute fifty one to go.
The Seahawks still have two of their timeouts in this scenario,

(01:31:45):
so now Gino Smith will have an opportunity to try
to stir some magic up in what is going to
be a huge, huge game for Seattle, considering you know
the forty nine ers are going to be smarting after
today's loss to Arizona.

Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
Well, you know, I don't care at this point. I
know this is your team, Dan, but I hope I'm
being impartial. I hope I'm giving the Giants on. No,
you are one hundred percent. This is just me knowing
you sure, but it's not gonna help me out. I
needed to win by a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
Carrie's got other interests and over time, probably not even
gonna help you either. If ends up kicking a field goal,
I hit him up back carry twenty five roads. You
can find me at Dan Byer on Fox as we
are broadcasting live from the tai Iraq dot com studios.
Tirec dot Com will help you get there at unmatched
selection fast free shipping. Free road has a protection in
over ten thousand recommended in sallers tireraq dot com. The

(01:32:35):
way tire buying should be. This is what's happening in
the other game that is hanging in the balance Packers
and Rams. It's a five point green Bay lead, three
twenty three left to go. Green Bays got it first
intend at their own forty two yard line. The Rams
do have two timeouts, so Jordan Love and this offense
will need to convert a couple of first downs if
they want to put this game away. An we aren't
gonna go anywhere because of what is happening in Seattle.

(01:32:58):
Gino Smith speaking of him, he is taken off for
a huge run and is all the way into Giants territory.
In fact, I think he's gotten in the field goal
range down to about the thirty five yard line just
on the first play from scrimmage for Seattle carry.

Speaker 3 (01:33:12):
Oh my god, now he runs, he runs all the
way out this time and gets a big play.

Speaker 8 (01:33:17):
Here.

Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
They're in man and man coverage and when a lot
of times those defenders back back, so turn like that.

Speaker 2 (01:33:24):
Look at this politic. Now, this is what is great.
Jackson Smith and Jigba was running a streak right, running
a fly out down the right sidelines. Giants were in
man coverage exactly. So Jsen looks up like he's looking
for the football. So the two defenders just keep on
following him down the field. I never see no yeah,
and never see Geno running forty yards behind him for

(01:33:47):
the first down. I'm sure Giants fans are throwing stuff
against the TV I for some reason, I think it's
kind of cool. I think it's cool. On Yeah, it was.
It was great. And I'll tell you what zip of
the capta CBS for actually showing that, because as you
you saw Gino make the run, you saw JSN kind
of look up and you're like, what is he doing
and he's the receiver or the defenders have no idea

(01:34:08):
that the ball hasn't been thrown and they're trailing. They're trailing.
He had a step on them as well. Yes he
did jasen and so if he did throw the ball,
he may have gotten it. But it sets Seattle up
first and ten now with a minute thirty two to
go in Giants territory.

Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
And that's the thing about playing men and man coverage.
A lot of times in those situations you like to
play two mans so you can have good low help
underneath the receivers and a guy over the top. But
if the quarterback gets by that front line those first four,
there's a big running line, and Geno took advantage.

Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
This is also just such an interesting dynamic on how
teams will utilize these scenarios because he had all as
at first in ten at the thirty four yard line.
You don't want to kick a fifty two yard field goal.
Jacksonville settled for a long cam little field goal today,
but the game was tied at that point. You don't
want to say we need fifty yards to kick a
field goal. And they threw one up to Tyler Lockett,

(01:35:00):
who feels that he got interfered with on a second
down and four call, and we're unable to convert. I
think Lockett was held. Whether it was enough for pass
interference not necessarily, sure, probably not, just jostling with the hands,
and it's a good no call in that scenario. But
so now Seattle's got it third down and four, and
this would be about a forty seven yard field goal

(01:35:22):
in this scenario if they are unable to get any
yards here on this third down. The other case is
the Giants have all three timeouts and there's a minute
eight left on the clock, so you really want to
get the first down to end up running the clock
out as much as you can. They don't, and they don't.
They do not find Jackson Smith and Jigba on a
little out route. So now Seattle's going to have to

(01:35:43):
convert the field goal, and they're gonna have to play
some defense because they would kick it back to New York.
If the Seahawks make this kick, I'm gonna call what
happens here? Dan?

Speaker 3 (01:35:51):
You ready? Yes, Seattle's going to make this kick, is
going to be tied. Daniel Jones is going to throw
an interception pick six the other way to win by seven.

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Wow. Carrys. He's trying to manifest his other his other interests.
Jason Myers is on for a forty seven yard field
goal and the Seahawks it's bladed. Oh my, and they're
going the other way forth. I jumping the lone. Isaiah
Simmons jumped the center, something that you would actually see

(01:36:23):
Cam Chancellor do as a member of the Seahawks, and
they blocked the field goal. There was a touchdown. You
were right about that. It just didn't It just didn't
happen for the Seahawks in that scenario. He did exactly
what Cam Chancellor would do for the Seahawks. Just the
the leaping there was by the way, that kick had
no chance at all. Simmons just jumped over. And the

(01:36:49):
leverage rule is you can't touch another player, but I
believe that you can hurdle another player without using them
to leap over, so he basically just hurtled like it
was the Olympics, and the Giants are going to now

(01:37:10):
go on and kick. There's a there's fifty five seconds
left on the clock, and it's going to be it's
a twenty nine to thirty lead for the twenty nine
twenty lead for the Giants, but likely to be a
thirty to twenty lead here Giants calling time out just
because everything is going crazy on the sidelines. You do
want to make sure you make this extra point. But
now with a nine point lead and Seattle only having
one time out, this is I'll and it's it was

(01:37:34):
a forty seven yard field goal. If you are kicking
a twenty seven yard field goal, you're not kicking it
like Jason Myers would be kicking it at that trajectory.
And I don't think that you get the the advantage
that Isaiah Simmons would get in making a play like that. Yeah,
that's a huge that's a huge play.

Speaker 3 (01:37:51):
That's something they've seen on film that Seattle's been doing
wrong a lot of times. When you try to do
pat protection, you want to wedge in and there's a
leverage thing where you try to protect people from coming
through the middle. The Giants must have saw them tape
that they get really low and they thought the jump
was available. It was they block it, and that's a

(01:38:12):
huge play for the Giants.

Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
And I thought that he did not leap over really
any player. He leapt over the jumped over the gap. Yeah,
that was between the center and the guard that you
were talking about, exactly. So drama in Seattle. The Giants,
by the way, they just take a knee on the
two point conversion. You know why they would do that? No,

(01:38:34):
tell me, because I don't even know that one. Because
if you block an extra point and run it back,
Seattle could make it a one score game. Or if
you kick an extra point and it's blocked, or you
run a play and there's a turnover, Seattle has an
opportunity to score two points. This way, they kept it
a two point game, got it. That's why they did it.
They're thinking to themselves, Seattle could block our extra point

(01:38:55):
and run it back, and then it's twenty nine to
twenty two, and now you're kicking the Seattle and it's
still a one score game. This way, they just end
up taking a knee. It's actually a really smart play
by Brian Dable in that scenario. And Jackson Smith and Jigba,
who had the great play to distract the Giants defense
when I was sounding really giddy about five minutes ago,

(01:39:16):
is now distraught on the sidelines. And the reason is
is because the third and four pass that they did
not convert on that was intended for him was not tipped.
It went off of his hands and he ended up
not being able to make the catch. And it's a scenario, honestly,
where Seattle has gone to Tyler locketteh in a lot
of scenarios, and in this scenario they went to Jackson
Smith and Jigbos who's a sure handed wide receiver, but

(01:39:39):
in that scenario did not come through. And now the
Giants have a nine point lead. All right, So Denver's
beating the Raiders thirty four to eighteen. The Cardinals win
in Santa Clara against the Niners twenty four to twenty three,
and it looks like the Giants are going to beat
the Seahawks twenty nine to twenty. What about what's happening
in Los Angeles between the Packers and Rams. They're at

(01:40:00):
the two minute warning. Green Bay is up five. The
Rams have the football on a fourth down. Unfortunately we
got to take a time out, but we'll tell you
what happens after the break. He's Carrier Roads, I'm Dan Beyer.
The drama in LA and the Mets and Phillies are
tied at six in the bottom of the ninth. The
conclusion of those out comes next here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
Myers, in his tenth year out of Marist is set.

Speaker 7 (01:40:36):
Snap is good kick on.

Speaker 2 (01:40:37):
It's flaying fuck for the Giants. They got pressure up
the middle and they scoop it up running down the
left side of Houston.

Speaker 9 (01:40:44):
He's to the five and he's in for the score
and a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:40:49):
Price Ford Wheaton is the.

Speaker 7 (01:40:50):
One that kicked it up.

Speaker 2 (01:40:52):
They jump right over in the center there and blocked it.
That is such a great play.

Speaker 5 (01:40:58):
Rice Ford Wheaton off the bounce, returns it for a score.

Speaker 4 (01:41:05):
Back to Dan Byer and Carrie Rhoades.

Speaker 2 (01:41:08):
As you pour an entire canister of Morton salt into
the wound. That is that Seahawks loss Giants Radio Network
on the call New York Wins in Seattle today twenty
nine to twenty hit carry out at Carrie twenty five Roads.
You can find me at dan Byer on Fox Montzi's
going to be here in sixty seconds for an update.
But I'm glad that we played that highlight. Not for

(01:41:31):
my sake, but it allows me to clarify something that
I said earlier. Mentioned the Cam Chancellor play. Yeah, and
I had in the back of my mind I thought
they banned that play. They did in twenty seventeen, the
NFL banned leaping over the center for a safety issue,
saying it's not only for the center, it's for the
player who's actually leaping over the line of scrimmage at

(01:41:53):
the time. That's the thing with the Isaiah Simmons play
was he didn't leap. You mentioned it that there was
the gap between the center and the guard, and he
was able to circumvent that because the players weren't tight enough.
It really wasn't even a hurdle of that point, because
there was enough of a gap for him to slide
through in the middle. And that's what allowed the Giants

(01:42:14):
to get the block and why there was no penalty
called on that hurdling play because he didn't hurtle anybody.
He just basically hurdled their ankles as they were lined
up next to each other on that forty seven outfield
goal attempt. Such a bad play.

Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
I mean, you practice that, you practice that all week,
you practice that protection, and for it to be a
big gap like that in the crucial situation like that,
it's just you can't have that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
Every game is done, including in Major League Baseball. That's
why we have Manci Bolanos here to give us the
latest of what is happening. So we've got Yes, the
game in LA has done, the game in Philadelphia has
done as well.

Speaker 8 (01:42:51):
We're going to start with baseball because it wasn't easy.
In fact, it was quite stressful for Phillies and Mets fans.
But there's no other way to win.

Speaker 4 (01:43:01):
To pitch swung on line down left field nines and
that's gonna win it.

Speaker 10 (01:43:05):
Castianos has done it, Turner is scoring, and the Phillies.

Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
Walk it off here at the bottom of.

Speaker 5 (01:43:10):
The ninth a game to victory seven to six. As
the Phillies come racing out of the knockout, dancing around
between first.

Speaker 10 (01:43:19):
And second has Nick Castianos has won the ball game.

Speaker 8 (01:43:23):
Phillies Radio Network on the call, you heard it. It
was very exciting. Mark Vientos hit his second homer for
the Mets on the top of the ninth. The need
to tie the game at six apiece, Nick Cassianos walks
it off for the Phillies. So now that series in
the NLDS is tied at one apiece. To come in
about an hour or so, it's Game two between the
Padres and the Dodgers. Dunt Dunton, Yeah, yeah, no, I'm

(01:43:45):
not ready for it. Ryan and I are not ready
for it, but we're gonna pretend we are. Let's check
in on the NFL. As you guys just mentioned, the
four late window games have wrapped up the Packers. They
held on to beat the Rams twenty four to nineteen.
Jordan Love fifteen of twenty six for twohundred twenty four
yards two touchdown passes, both to Tucker Kraft. He did
have one interception in the win. The Broncos with the

(01:44:06):
thirty four to eighteen victory over the Raiders. Bo Nicks
nineteen of twenty seven for two hundred and six yards
and two touchdowns. In that one, the Giants, they blocked
the Seahawks field goal with one minute left that would
have tied the game for Seattle. New York takes off
with it to the house. They go up twenty nine
to twenty and win it. Daniel Jones twenty three of
thirty four two hundred and fifty seven yards, two touchdowns

(01:44:26):
plus thirty eight rushing yards. And just to mention that
the Giants didn't even have their rookie star wide receiver
Malik Nighbors because of concussion protocol, and they still were
able to pull this win off against Dan's Seahawks.

Speaker 6 (01:44:36):
Sorry Dan.

Speaker 8 (01:44:37):
The Cardinals sealed the win with an interception on brock
Party and they came out on top twenty four to
twenty three against the forty nine ers. Kyler Murray not
only did he have a fifty yard rushing touchdown to
start the game, but he completed nineteen of thirty passes
for one hundred and ninety five yards, one touchdown, and
one interception. The games that happened today, I mean football
started in London and the Vikings are still undefeated. They

(01:44:59):
took down the Jets to twenty three to seventeen. The Ravens,
they walked it off with a field goal in overtime,
they edged the Bengals forty one to thirty eight. Both
Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow it was just a shootout.
They both threw for over three hundred yards. Lamar Jackson
had four touchdown passes. Joe Burrow had five touchdown passes.
No big deal. The Jaguars, they got their first one
of the season.

Speaker 7 (01:45:19):
Yay.

Speaker 6 (01:45:19):
They walked it off with the.

Speaker 8 (01:45:20):
Forty nine yard field goal from Cam Little. They beat
the Colts thirty seven to thirty four. The Bears they
crushed the Panthers thirty six to ten. While the Texans
another walk off win today with a fifty nine yard
field goal to beat the Bills.

Speaker 6 (01:45:32):
Twenty three to twenty. But really, we discussed this earlier.

Speaker 8 (01:45:35):
Houston survived this one, only scoring six points.

Speaker 6 (01:45:38):
In the second half.

Speaker 8 (01:45:39):
The Dolphins outscored the Patriots fifteen to ten, and the Commanders.

Speaker 6 (01:45:43):
They took down the Browns thirty four to thirteen.

Speaker 8 (01:45:46):
Jayden Daniels threw for two hundred and thirty eight yards,
a touchdown and an interception in that one. In the WNBA.
I mentioned earlier, the New York Liberty are off to
the finals. They eliminated the Aces seventy sixty sixty two.
They still do not know who they're going to face
because the sun took down the links and are forcing
a game five.

Speaker 2 (01:46:03):
Don dund oh, And what a finish at the Sanderson
Farms Championship today on the PGA Tour.

Speaker 6 (01:46:09):
Sure want to tell us about that? Would you tell.

Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
Kevin you wins in a playoff over bow hostler? I
mean want a showdown?

Speaker 6 (01:46:19):
I miss the call in the system on Mountain.

Speaker 2 (01:46:22):
That's what the rodent was watching above you in the studio.
That's what I was making so much noise.

Speaker 6 (01:46:27):
I mean, listen, the noise is gone, which is why I'm.

Speaker 8 (01:46:29):
Sitting here recess again, res nap time.

Speaker 6 (01:46:32):
I don't know what.

Speaker 2 (01:46:33):
It is a little dramatic, that's what it is.

Speaker 4 (01:46:38):
Nobody else wants.

Speaker 6 (01:46:39):
To be in here, that's for sure. You didn't offer
to switch spots with me. You could have talked to
the carry I.

Speaker 2 (01:46:44):
Actually have very well. For I did tell her to go.
I said they can use this microphone over.

Speaker 6 (01:46:49):
Yes you did.

Speaker 2 (01:46:50):
Yes, she used the different one, So don't worry. We
didn't take it personally.

Speaker 8 (01:46:53):
Yeah, well, you know, I needed a laptop and I
don't want to take one of your laptop.

Speaker 6 (01:46:58):
So they all good, all good.

Speaker 2 (01:47:00):
Hope hopefully that thing is taken care of tomorrow.

Speaker 9 (01:47:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:47:03):
Else, I'm not coming back already.

Speaker 2 (01:47:05):
See when out at our house last night, that's the same,
and I thought that that was. Well, when you're it's sweating,
like you know, it's not the greatest thing. Sure, sure,
Look you haven't been you haven't. You haven't been harmed yet.
You know, it's all in your mind. Yeah, that's all
it is. I mean, see, watched so many horror movies.
That's probably what's going on right now.

Speaker 6 (01:47:22):
Let me tell you that might be part of it,
best part of it.

Speaker 2 (01:47:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:47:25):
Yeah, I think the worst is going to happen like
somebody just crashing exactly.

Speaker 8 (01:47:29):
Yeah, it won't a whole family of bats just taking
me down.

Speaker 2 (01:47:33):
I've got this story within this story here at Fox
Sports Radio. All right, thanks Monci. All right, Steelers and
Cowboys coming up tonight. We'll have our picks coming up
at the end of the show. Two things I have
to say. I mentioned a penalty that there's something that
needs to be reviewed. A penalty that needs to be
reviewed in the NFL. I do think face masks should

(01:47:55):
be reviewed. I don't. I don't view them as the
same as hold. I have thoughts on pass interference. I
don't like the spot of the foul pass interference unless
of guys breaking away and you want to give them
a touchdown in that scenario. But I think forty five
yard penalties are way too penalizing to a team, especially
with some of the calls that we see from time
to time, and not a big spot of the spot

(01:48:16):
of the foul pass interference guy. But the other one
is face masks, because I do think that there is
a safety element in that as well, guys getting their
heads turned and it's so obvious. I think holding is
pretty subjective at times. What's a hold? What is it
a hold? What is past interference? What's not? If you

(01:48:38):
grab my face mask and it turns that is a
face mask. There is no longer a five yard incidental
face mask penalty in the NFL. It's a fifteen yard
penalty no matter what you do. And we have seen
some face mask penalties. Thursday night, we saw one in
the Atlanta game ye with a Bucky irving of the
I believe it was a Bucky Irving fumble, but at

(01:48:59):
least on the run well that there was a holding
penalty that ended up getting called back. There was a
blatant face mask in that call. I think face mask.
You should be able to review if you want to
use the challenge on it. Fine, but it's plain at
day to me. It's not like any other penalty you
see in the NFL. Yeah, the review could could be
a possibility.

Speaker 3 (01:49:17):
I could see why you would say that there is
a difference between the five and the fifteen though, because
sometimes the accidental one. I would I would lend to
stay with that. With the five yard, five yard, I
want to bring that back. I would stay with that. Yeah,
the five yard. The accidental is definitely incidental. If it's
on there and it comes right off and it's not

(01:49:39):
a pool and a tug, I would want that to
come back.

Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
I'm not worried about the calls that they actually make.
I'm worried about the ones that they miss. They miss, Yeah,
that are just blatant where guys helmets are turned. Because
I also feel in those scenarios you can do a
lot of things to a ball carrier turning their helmet
and swinging it this way completely does stop momentum in
a certain in a certain way, and it's just as

(01:50:04):
it could be just as dangerous as any any call
of a of a horse collar or something of that
effect that I have been on a face mask penalty
kick for not as long as the pass interference. But
that's the other point. Last year, also on Fox Sports Radio,
we were discussing new rules that we wish would come

(01:50:25):
into the NFL. Do you think you should get more
points the closer you get to the goal line for
field goals? Isn't that the whole point of right? And
I only say this because Ryan Berschinger was with me
with that day and he actually said, that's actually not
a bad idea. It's not as dumb as it sounds.
So the closer you go, So we have all these

(01:50:47):
fifty and sixty yard field goals, and then we have
a lot of teams going for it. But isn't the
goal to move the football down the field? Yes? And
the more you move it down the field, the more
you should be rewarded for it. Right, Because if you
get down to the five yard line and kick a
field goal, it's the same as kicking one from fifty

(01:51:08):
five yards out, and we say, well, cheeze. You know
that maybe the team would go for it on fourth
down goal from the five yard line. But if that
kick was worth five points, heck, why just bring out
the field goal unit and then a sixty yarder you
want to have only sixty yarders? May have teams going
for it, because what do you think of that? I'm
not Ryan with you guys. Nope, I am not. You're

(01:51:32):
not You're not subjecting me to the Fox Sports rule
change it right, not with it at all. And Bryan
Bursinger is I loop you in here, not not to
not to save me or anything. But I think the
point that you liked was, well, if the point of
the game is to move the ball down the field,
shouldn't you be rewarded more for doing so? Not that

(01:51:53):
you love the five point field.

Speaker 9 (01:51:55):
Goal exactly exactly. You're giving offenses more incentive to keep moving.
It could create for some really interesting situations like the
Rams were down by five there at the end. Yeah,
what if they get down to the to the eight
yard line and kick a five point field goal to Diet.

Speaker 3 (01:52:10):
Nope, it just gives it gives head coaches another outlet
to score points, and I'm like, Nah.

Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
You don't think Roger Goodall would say we need more
field goals. They need more field calls in the National
Football League. This is our way of doing.

Speaker 3 (01:52:24):
They're matriculating the ball down the field to kick the
five yard field goal. No, I don't think that's part
of what we should be acknowledging right now.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
All right, I just thought i'd bring it up since
we were talking about now changes. No, Nope, nope, he's
carry roads final to make carry twenty five roads. You

(01:53:40):
been a big Justin Fields fan throughout the season, and
now they're three in one, the Pittsburgh Steelers are and
he's starting again tonight against the somewhat depleted Dallas Cowboys
with no Michael Parsons and no DeMarcus Lawrence. Is there
any scenario that you see Russell Wilson inserting himself in

(01:54:00):
as the starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers or is
that ship completely sailed considering Pittsburgh's early success.

Speaker 3 (01:54:08):
I think the ship has sailed obviously. I think we've
had this discussion back and forth. You know there could
I mean an injury being the reason that it could
be a possibility. You never know what a long NFL season.
But if that doesn't happen nothing, Justin Fields will remain
the starter, and it's.

Speaker 2 (01:54:28):
They've they've been rolling. They needed his legs last week
against the Indianapolis Colts in a game that they ended
up losing. However, you know, in this scenario, you're playing
a game today without Jalen Warren and Cordero Patterson, so
you're likely going to see more of Justin Field's legs
I think in this game. And you obviously have Najee

(01:54:50):
Harris there, but if Pittsburgh wants to put some points
up on the board, they're going to have to do so.
Curious to see how that Dallas offense does against the
Pittsburgh defense led by TJ. Watt. But Dallas just has
to become more balanced, and I just don't see a
way that they do it. I like Pittsburgh to win tonight,
That's right. You like Pittsburgh for some reason. In my mind,
the Steelers shouldn't win this game. But I'm gonna take

(01:55:12):
the Cowboys for the upset today. I just I just
feel like I'm gonna put my money on Dak today
against Tustin Fields. I think he's gonna win that matchup.
He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. Here are your week
five MVPs in the National Football League.

Speaker 2 (01:58:58):
Sunday, and what was another crazy Sunday in the National
Football League. It is a little difficult to not look
at what happened in Cincinnati, where the Bengals are on
the verge of possible win over the Baltimore Ravens. You
get a bad snap and then the Ravens take care
of it in overtime on the Justin Tucker kick. Lamar's

(01:59:19):
numbers look great, but there's someone else that stood out
to you. Yeah, I mean, this team has figured out
how to use Derek Henry. He's been such an impressive
player in his career. I don't think we give him
enough credit for the longevity to be a big guy
a running back in this league. Obviously, at this time
of your career you should be done. This guy hasn't
done yet, and so I just wanted to give Derek

(01:59:39):
Henry some praise. Big win for Baltimore forty thirty eight
and overtime. I don't think I'm saying anything crazy or
outlandis here, but he is a sure fire Hall of famer.
And when you look at how many running backs in
the National Football League from this era that will be
going into the Hall of Fame, it's not as many
as you think because of the way that the game
has changed so much. But his numbers in what is

(02:00:01):
now happening in this league even stand out even more
and maybe fitting that. He doesn't get the game winning score,
but it was his run to set up the field
goal that ended up winning it. For them in overtime. Yep,
that was the play of the game. Again. Tip of
the cap to the Vikings. They beet a division rival
on the road last week and then go to London
and force three Aaron Rodgers interceptions. I know it wasn't easy,

(02:00:24):
and the offense wasn't great, and they lost Aaron Jones,
but maybe that makes it even more impressive for the
Minnesota Vikings, Who's still, along with the Kansas City Chiefs,
the only unbeatens in the National Football League Four carry roads.
I'm Dan Byer. Enjoy Steelers and Cowboys and Potters and
Dodgers for that matter. Talked to you in Week six.
