Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, welcome in, Happy Sunday to you.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
As we are off and running. I'll tell you what man.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Good morning to you, Jeff, Good morning crack Hopaul is
great with you fellas. We dive right in because we
have an arranged marriage. I don't know if you guys
know about this. You know not all arranged marriages are
are bliss for the couple involved. You know, way back
in the day the arranged marriages. Is that not what

(00:33):
we have with Ace Bailey in the Utah Jazz on
the heels of Wednesday's first round of the NBA Draft.
So Ace Bailey, he made it clear he does not
want to be drafted by the Utah Jazz, and the
Jazz are like, eh, you know, he'll get over it.
Let's draft him anyway, So they take him. Ace Bailey

(00:54):
initially doesn't show up at all to any of this stuff. Right,
he doesn't fly over to Utah and have the press
conference with the media Utah. It's like, it's okay, it's
not mandatory, but you know, training camp begins on Monday.
If we want you there Saturday, and so right like,
Ace Bailey is there, he's expected to be there for
a training camp on Monday. So they're like being cool

(01:17):
about it. But it's like there's this fourth marriage. Ace
Bailey doesn't want it to happen. He tries to make
it not happen. Then he doesn't show up for the
photo shoot or the reception. That's basically what we have
in our hands right here. So the question is to
get things going. Is this a smart or an unsmart
move by the Jazz to pick a guy who clearly

(01:38):
doesn't want to be there.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Well, first of all, I'm glad all three of us
clearly want to be here, which is important. It's a
success I think in chemistry. Pro sports is unique that way, right, Brian.
Where there's a draft, and I know people will argue
sometimes that a draft is unfair, and yes, maybe it is,
but it's supposed to help rony right where you know,

(02:02):
the worst teams get the better players. Except in the NBA,
of course, that you can win a play in games
to all the number one pick in the draft. But
the rest of the drafts, the worst teams get the
first pick right and then allows you to i mean
get the first pick, by the way, the second round,
the third round, the fourth round, right. So if you
the worst in the NFL, you get the first pick
up every top of every seven, all seven rounds. And

(02:24):
there are players that are going to be drafted that
don't want to go there. When I was drafted by
the Panthers, I did not know they played in Charlotte.
I thought they played in Rawley. I ain't know any better.
Why would I'm from Los Angeles? Why would I know
the Panthers played right? Well enough fan they were in
the same division for for quite a few years. But
I don't know if I wanted to go to Charlotte,

(02:45):
to the Panthers. I was drafted, and it's your duty
to go to the team you're drafted by. Those are
the rules of the league. And as basically, did not
want to be drafted by the Jazz. So what grow up? Right?
And you know what's bright? Two's Jazz bad? Like? This
is a good place to develop, right. I know you
don't want to be in Salt Lake City, and I
get all that, But from basketball perspective, it seems like

(03:08):
a fine spot for him to be. They obviously believe
in him, they drafted him. He didn't want to go there,
and sometimes in life, that's the way it works, man,
Like you go somewhere for work because the best situation
for you, but it might not be where you want
to live. It might not be the best place in
your mind, and you end up you figure out in three,
four or five years places bad. I still live in Charlotte,

(03:30):
right like, I still want to be there. So this
is what happens when you draft young men nineteen years old,
eighteen years old and Cooper Fog is not even nineteen
years old yet, They're gonna be a short sided view
of the of the world and where they think they
want to live.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
And I.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Don't want to I'm not gonna wager on anything here,
but I bet by the time this has died, man,
he's like I like Salt Lake City, you know it?
Just it's the way this works, right. You get somewhere
and you're and you play good. And I'm say that's
a big part of this. He has to play good.
If he doesn't play good, none of it matters. But
if he plays well, it's not gonna matter where you live.

(04:08):
And before we get to crack quickly to like you're
the NBA season training camp, I guess starts soon or
at least summer ball, right, you play Summer League in Vegas,
you're not even in Salt Lake City. And then you're
off till training camp, and then from October to May
you're all in Salt Lake City. All the other months

(04:29):
you're not there, like you're not there the whole time.
You're also on the road for ten days at a time,
and you're like you're not even at home very much.
So I think it's way overblown when players don't want
to go to certain places Bran and So that's my
take on it. It's also bad for the NBA to
have this drama, in my opinion, to have players openly
upset about where they're being drafted.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
You know, guys, I I was forced to move to
this Las Vegas.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Wow boy.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
At first, I like, Wow, this is going to be
the greatest thing on the show on Earth. And you
know what, I went through trials and tribulations here, up
and down swings myself. And when I say it's just
because this is like Vice CenTra, I always say, but
I want to tell you when you go to a
new location from where you you know, set out when

(05:19):
you were a kid compared to when you were a kid,
compared to now.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
There's always things.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
You miss home and you don't want to leave home
and the weather, whatever it may be. I like to
have four seasons, but but I adapted. I love, you know,
to live in Las Vegas now, so U but I
do get it. Sometimes you know, you don't want to
you want to go to certain places, like like you said,
you know, you're growing up in La and and now

(05:44):
you're going to Carolinas you don't even know, and you
liked it so much you settled there so and you know,
started a family there. I think it's always a good
move to take the best available player on the board.
So these players are so entitled these days though, thinking
they can decide which teams draft them or not, you know,

(06:05):
and gonna pay them, you know, so much millions of dollars.
And also you can always make a trade after you draft,
but you just have to take whatever player you think
is the best one left out there. So as far
as Cooper flag goes, look, I think he could be
a great NBA player for sure. He has all the
tools and ability and seems like he has a good
head on his shoulders. He also was the best defender

(06:27):
in college basketball last year, so which a lot of
people forget. I'm not sure how he's gonna come out
blazing this season in the NBA. I think there will
be an adjustment period, some growing pains, but nothing he
won't he won't be able to work through. You know,
one of my one of my good buddies who loves
betting big moneys on big money on futures, he seen

(06:48):
that MGM had thirty five to one on Dallas. As
matter of fact, that was the best line out there.
I should have checked before yesterday. Even the best line
out there was for NBA futures. It was MGMs thirty
five to one Dallas, Mavericks. I'm going to give it
to you right now. It's still thirty five to one.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
To win the championship.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
Yeah, yeah, what's what's your opinion on Not in no way, right, Jeff.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
I mean Kyrie Irving has got to come back healthy.
That it's the only way this works, right. I mean,
you're not gonna a championship with just you know, three
R three main players being six eleven, Like, I don't know,
you need you need something in the court. And so
I I was it's front court, right front courts where
the little guys are the back courts, the big guys
or the advice versa. I never remember, Brian, I.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Can never think front COURTSI dudes.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Okay, So you know they have Gifford who they just
signed an ad and Cooper Flag. I guess he's more
of like a slash guy. But I look, I've told
you this before, crack like, I'm not a just my
personal wagering belief. I'm not like a throw big money
or not big money, just any money on things. I
just don't think are going to hit ever, Like that's

(07:58):
a play you make and you hope they make the
Western Conference finals and you can play it and you
can you know, like that's what those are four. I
just don't think it's gonna happen out. I mean, I
even think betting on Houston's ridiculous too. So, but the
Western Conference feels pretty wide open, and you know someone's
gonna have to there's gonna be a surprise team in

(08:21):
the West, most likely. But Dallas again like part of
the NBA and why it's not surprising the thunder one,
but it can explain. I think their struggles in the
postseason is again it's most of the time your best
player is twenty seven or older when they win their

(08:41):
first championship. It just takes time. And SG, I believe,
is twenty six. So it's a little bit early. I mean,
is Dallas if Kyrie is not one hundred percent a
d is old enough obviously, but it's Flag. And then
you look at Houston. Obviously it's like that because Katie
he obviously is a killer, he's a fantastic basketbayer. But

(09:01):
it's just the addition of him with how young the
team looked last postseason? Is that enough to win the West? Brian,
I don't think so. I mean, okay, see return to
everyone like they returned the same team that won sixty
eight games. So that's why I just I get it. Look,
I get it. A Flag is that good early on?
But he's not even nineteen till till the season starts.

(09:22):
He's a young kid.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, he is very young.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
The only thing that and you heard this a lot
heading into the draft, especially early on when Dallas had
the first pick. Early on, it was like, are they
gonna take Cooper Flag or are they gonna use the
pick to get someone who can help them? Now I
heard that all the time, and It's like, why can't
Cooper Flag help them right away? You know he's not
gonna be a finished product, not even twenty years old,

(09:48):
but he can help them right away. I go, I
would look at Kawhi Leonard. Think about Kawhi in his
early career with the Spurs. He was a major contributor
right away. He's you know, he's in the Defensive Player
of the Year running, you know, like he's eleventh in
voting in his third season in the NBA and they're

(10:10):
competing for championships.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Like, so he got minutes as a rookie, he averaged
twenty four minutes a game as a rookie, he contributed
right away, Yeah, and got better his second season. That
could easily be what you see with Cooper Flag. So
I never understood the well, they could pick him or
somebody that can help them right away, Like why can't
Cooper I thinks to be the Rookie of the year.

(10:33):
I think he's gonna hit the ground running.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
You get you get you get a player like that
to drop in your lap. Like I mentioned earlier, you
want to playing game. This is ridiculous that they got
the first pick of the draft, and you take Cooper flag,
you absolutely do it. I was did Crack lay ten
thousand to win one on the right.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
I saw a guy put on a bet slip. He
bet one hundred and twenty four dollars and like fifty
cents on Cooper Flave to go one. He won and
he won three cents, like three, So the ticket got
paid out one hundred and twenty four dollars and fifty
three cents. I made zero draft wagers. I just didn't
do it. I just didn't. I people send me wagers.

(11:12):
I didn't even know if they didn't. I didn't make them.
I just stayed away from the draft. I mean it
was such an I get with the schedule why they
do it this way, but the draft was three days
after Game seven, and maybe they didn't expect Game seven
to go as you know, series as long as it did.
But the draft had no juice. There's no time to
study the draft when you were studying, you know, you know,

(11:33):
Game seven and all the things that they go along
with just this time of year with baseball and WNBA
and look it's guys. It Crack June twenty ninth, thirty
three days away, Buddy, Hall of Fame game, like we're
we're here, Like I saw tweets this week. All the
magazines are out now for college football, Like I'm gonna
start downloading them and buying them and get them the house.

(11:54):
I mean, we were in full like football pre now
and then boom was like the draft Wednesday night, you're right,
oh okay, And then Thursday night there was Brian I've
made this punk this comment before, guys, I read. I
love NFL draft grade articles. I read them all. Oh yeah,
I read them all. You either get an AAR and
f there's someone between. But I read them all right,

(12:15):
and anyone if you do wanted you're listening to me
right now, and you're send it to me. I'll read
them all. So I woke up Thursday morning and I
went to go read an NBA draft draft grade like
winners and losers article, and I wanted to see the
Lakers because the Lakers I knew had second round picks
did our first roup. But so once you have the Lakers,
my team got better. And I scrolled the bottom. They're like,

(12:38):
here're the best available players for round two? What round
round two didn't happen? Yet?

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Round two was a separate night. Yeah, yeah, they did
it last year.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
You remember it because uh, Bronnie James, right, you remember
the and Bronnie was what like the fifty fifth pick?

Speaker 4 (12:53):
Is that what it did it last year? They So
this is the second year of doing it, I learned,
but it was first because of Bronni last year.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
That's probably why they split it up or else they
had an idea to do that and it just fell
into their laps where you know, there was a compelling
reason for people to tune in with Broni at the
tail end of the second round. But yeah, it's the
second year they've done it. It's I mean, the second
round is rough. The second round is you know, Jennobili

(13:19):
Bibitsfovich and it's like who the hell is from where?

Speaker 5 (13:23):
You know?

Speaker 3 (13:24):
And they like.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Cavoni get in here. What do you know about this guy?
Because we know nothing?

Speaker 4 (13:30):
And I think that that I think the twenty six
or thirty picks were trained in the second round too,
So like it doesn't even matter. Yeah, what would have
what would have have have had a higher a higher
TV viewership? So kayln Clark played Thursday Night. You think
you think the Fever had more people to watch an
NBA draft, probably.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Right, Oh, I would imagine, So I can't the second
round of the draft, could not.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
Don't even play that night.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah that might not count, but well if yeah, if
she were playing, for sure, But I can't imagine the
second round of the NBA draft drew ratings.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Practicing on it. I know I could see in his
face he was totally Round two w n B A.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
Yeah, actually I was just I just checked every sportsbook
in here in Las Vegas, just wanted to make sure
I wasn't quoting something wrong. Uh yeah, MGM is still
the highest thirty five to one Dallas Mavericks next year championship. Uh,
not that I'm saying I bet that, but a friend
of mine who has a lot of money, obviously he
wanted to tie up up the five thousand dollars on

(14:32):
on that.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
Brian was with me.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
I think Brian, Brian and Russ Axelrod uh was with me,
and I was looking to looking to bet that.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Uh, I appreciate it. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
We actually went to one of the classic steakhouses in
the world, Golden Steer, which here in Las Vegas has
been around for many many years.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
Every did the Boots there are each individual booths shows
you who sat there, like Frank Sinatra's booth. Then you
had the next booth was Joe Dema, Geoe, Marilyn Monroe.
We actually sat in the Baxter booth and I was like,
that's not Billy Baxter, is it. I literally I was
just talking to Billy at the World Series last week
and yeah it was his boot. So uh, Brian me

(15:13):
Kenny mean uh and and Russ Kenny I was. I
was actually on the ESPN Sports Center with Kenny Maine
one time and a little little, uh, little tidbit about
this particular night. So the manager comes over, Jeff, you're
gonna like this. Manager comes over and says, hey, Brian,

(15:33):
where Brian was sitting and said, you know the front
door used to be located right next to this booth,
points to Brian and said, and the guy came in
and killed the person that was sitting where you're sitting, Brian.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
With an ice pick just came. I started jamming the
ice pick right there where you're sitting. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
I mean this this Las Vegas, boy, I tell you what,
got some history. This particular restaurant is in the same
shopping center where the Gold Rush was where if you
watch The Week Casino, the real name is Tony Spilatro,
but the Nicky Santoro character, that's where he had his
jewelry store. He was the killer in town. And then
the manager saying, yeah, Brian, just to let you know,

(16:13):
that's you're in the seat where they got kill.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
No.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
No, we like, yeah, no, it was someone else in
this situation. Brian did kind of slump down the seat
after you heard that. But the same exact boots still there.
But the restaurant's fantastic, unbelievable. Walking there, it's like walking
into nineteen sixty five and the old dark woods and

(16:41):
beautiful leather boots are still there. Lots of history, lots
of people there, and it's one of the hardest seats
to get in in town. But I'll be real blunt
with you. It was just okay. I think there's much
better steak in Las Vegas. Joe's cut, Peter Luger's. I
think it's much better now. The lobster was good, we
had we had a lobster's. Rush ordered a lobster. By

(17:02):
the way, of course, it's a total bust out joint,
and Russ ordered an extra lobster for the table.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
So of course did you need lobsters?

Speaker 5 (17:11):
No rush paid for four of us.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
I look, Russ, I know you're listening to this. It
might be early for you. I don't know, but I'm
in town July twenty first to July twenty fifth. I
expect a steak dinner.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
You need well, you need you need steak dinners. You
know what I mean to your proper evaluation of what
Crack is saying. I need to sample all of these steak.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Yeah, yeah, well we'll have the well bye.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
By the way, the Goldens there's the toughest restaurant to
get in, but we're going to skip that there.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Some of the we gotta go. We're going to go
to dinner. At some point.

Speaker 6 (17:44):
We're going to go to Joe's. Maybe Mother Wolf will
go to some of that. Some of my spots, Italian
American Club will be prepared. Why are you coming in
any I don't even know why.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
Big Big ten Media Day twenty second to July twenty
fourth at Mandalay.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Bay, So I will uh, oh, you're not gonna have
no time for.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Us, buddy. The media days like four hours. It's all Yeah,
it's not that it's not that bad.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Do the media day, play a poker tournament, eat steak here.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
You have your whole evening free to you.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Yeah, the poker thing isn't maybe, but the steak is
a yes.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Okay, cool, all right, lamba God, hopefully they're in town.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Check that out.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Actual boys in talent at the sphere. Good tickets And
I don't look at.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
Your wife's coming.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
I don't make enough money right now to afford spear tickets,
so I don't know if we're going to be able
to go that. Jeez man.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Yeah, absolutely all right.

Speaker 2 (18:34):

I remember that movie actually opened with dragula, so maybe
we could go back to that.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Oh really, is that right? That's a good trivia question.

Speaker 7 (20:01):
I remember it was dragging. It was definitely Rob Zombie.
I have to go back and look at the soundtrack.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
I can't picture in my head Dragula.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
It was the Rave where where like Keanu Reeves meets
who I forget the actress's name played Trinity.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
It was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, it might be right.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
But I mentioned the red pill or the blue pill
from the movie The Matrix, Right, you just have a
decision to make, yeah, And you have a decision to
make today because Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He said earlier
this week that this upcoming NFL season will probably be
his last. So I got to thinking, and Jeff, I

(20:41):
pretty much know your answer right here right based on
your feelings that you've shared about Rogers and the dramatic
ways and how much you love talking about You love
talking about this just as much as you know the fade,
like taking the opposing center against the Indiana Fever. You know,
like you love fucking Aaron. If you had to choose,

(21:04):
what would be your choice. Rogers plays at least two
more years, or this is it, this is the last season,
Rogers goes away and like he said, this is my
favorite part of the interview. He said he's also going
to retreat from public life after retiring yea, which I
got to see to believe.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
Right.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
Yeah, the guy that that almost ran for vice president,
I'm sure he's going to retire from the limelight. Yeah,
I'm choosing he's done after this year, because who's gonna
want Aaron Rodgers? Like the NFL retires you as well,
like sometimes you retire most of us. The NFL retires us.
They said, yeah, we don't watch you. We want you

(21:45):
for a certain price. And you know, you know a
lot of players get to point that you were I'm
not willing to play play for that price, right, you know,
I I don't still don't get the move by the
Steeler here. It being in the middle in any sports

(22:06):
league is the worst, especially in the NFL, because the
NFL sort of not punishes you for being in the middle,
but the way the draft forks out, you just don't
get a lot of great options at quarterback in the
middle of the first round for the most part, right,
And so the series get a quarterback in the future
Rogers for one year gets them nothing. They gets them nowhere.

(22:27):
They're not winning the Super Bowl with them, and they're
not gonna be bad enough to draft on top ten.
They're gonna be drafting right where they normally draft mid
to late teens, early twenties. They're gonna be like, well,
the fifth best quarterback, maybe we could draft him in
this year because it's supposed to be a good quarterback
class next season, or we pass again and they're the

(22:48):
same spot they are every year since Big Ben retired,
which is we don't have a quarterback in the future.
And so I just it never understood this, And then
I get Steeler fans are telling me, well, we could
trade up next year for a quarterback. You can, you
haven't done it yet, so you keep saying that those
things are gonna happen. I don't see it. So I'm
choosing the pill that he's done after this year because

(23:09):
he's gonna have an okay season. Nothing's gonna change about
his life, and he very clearly is already contemplating retirement.
He's married, supposedly, I don't. I guess we have never
seen his wife. There's no just not normally. On the internet,
we can find anything. You can find anything, anything you want,

(23:31):
It's there to be found. There's a great Bo Burnham
song about the Internet. You can find anything you want
on the Internet. Okay, we can't find his wife. I'm
sure it's real, but you can't find her. I don't know.
So maybe he's gonna just this to be gone, like
he's going to disappear into the ether, do his retreats,
live his life on a farm somewhere, and never heard

(23:52):
from a game to the season.

Speaker 8 (23:52):
Crack.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
Yeah, uh, you're right.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
I actually have to admit when I seen that in
one of our papers here, I actually read the I
read a newspaper online all the time, and I right away.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
I said, wow, he's married. All right, let's take it.

Speaker 6 (24:07):
I did a search for his wife too, and you're right,
I couldn't find it, I admitted. So it's funny you
say that, But this is an easy answer for me.
I hope it is his last year. He's become more
of an off field guy than what he does on
the field. We all know that he's a me first guy.
I want the attention guy. I won't shed any tears

(24:27):
when we don't have to hear about him anymore. He's
really showed his true colors these last few seasons. I'll
be happy when we don't have to talk about him anyway.
I'd rather talk about ice pick no than sorry.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yeah, it's Uh, I think it will be his last
season because sort of what Krack said right there, it's
he loves himself, He loves him some Rodgers, and he
likes football. It's pretty clear he likes football. He kind
of did the Ace Bailey to the Pittsburgh Steelers, you
know what I mean, Like he was dragging his heels

(25:05):
for weeks before he signed with the Steelers and then
eventually did it. And I also think that his game
doesn't translate to old as well as Tom Brady's game.
Did you know Rogers When he was prime Rogers, he
was moving outside the pocket, he was throwing off platform.
Those are some of the things that made him really special.

(25:25):
And now that he's older and he doesn't have those
same abilities and he's more injury prone, he's not the
same dynamic quarterback anymore. And I think that that's the
road it takes me down, is it was such a
total overreaction. When Tom Brady was playing until forty five.
You would hear people say like, oh, you can play

(25:47):
real long. These days, it's like Tom Brady is different.
This is not going to be common where players are
still playing at a high level at quarterback in the NFL.
At forty five, like Tom Brady is is a competitive maniac.
He's meticulous about his diet and preparation. Not everybody is
wired that way. Not everybody is more of a pocket

(26:09):
quarterback like Brady, and you know, not using much athleticism
at all, Like most quarterbacks use some of their athletic ability.
It just doesn't translate to old as well. I think
Brady was like watching a professional golfer on TV, where
it just looks so easy. You're like, I think I
could go to the local muni and lay up from
two hundred and forty five yards away. Like it doesn't

(26:32):
work like that. And I just don't think that. Even
if Rogers wanted to go two years, I just don't
think it's in him to do so.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
I don't think it is either. And you know, when
you start talking about retirements when you really should retire,
most guys talk about then play one more year. He
talked about it for years. Remember he came out of
that Ayahuasca four day retreat in the darkness, and he
said in the interview, says, I was in anything. I
was going to retire. I came out to basically play
because I was spiting the Packers. It's been three years

(27:02):
since that now, and he got his achilles hurt. So
I think this is just going to be his last year.
And then again we'll never hear from again. Like you said,
it's going to disappear into the wilderness just gone, and uh,
we'll never have to hear him again.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
Crack back to Malibu. I think that's where he lives.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Yea. I will say about Malibu quickly. When I was
back home a more a weekend, they had just opened
up pH after the fires. A week my wife and
I drove up the amount of fire damage. We talked
about the fire. It's unfathomable. I can't even Yeah, there's

(27:38):
no word even describ' even know where. And Rogers is
staying a Malibu. I mean I heard he was a Malible,
Like entire neighborhoods are just no longer there. It is.
You think you can imagine what it's like and then
you go and see it and it's not even I

(27:58):
can't even explain it. And it is just a targedy,
beautiful man.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
I remember going to Pepperdine with my mom. My mom
was visiting at the time. We went over and we
were just bumming around and we went to see Pepperdine
and the baseball diamond literally is on a hill overlooking
the ocean.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
It's gorgeous. But yeah, I believe you man.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
It's especially if you knew it before and now see it,
it's got to be even more solely.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
Whoa.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
But hey, luckily you talk about Rogers one more year,
Isaac Lohenkron has way more gas in the tape. We're
talking at least three more decades.

Speaker 9 (28:32):
What a segue.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yes, he's here with us this morning. This is day
one of the next I'll call it four decades that
you have in store here with Dilo.

Speaker 9 (28:43):
Thank you, take that, Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 10 (28:46):
Guys, we'll start with the on the field action in
Major League Baseball on Saturday night at the Atlanta Braves.
With a six to one victory over the Philadelphia Phillies,
Sean Murphy a Grand Slam home run, and Spencer Schwellenbach
had a career high twelve strikeouts. The Chicago Cubs won
at Houston twelve to three.

Speaker 9 (29:03):
The Cubs Kyle Tucker.

Speaker 10 (29:05):
Four hits, including a three run home run against his
former team. The Miami Marlins won at Arizona in ten innings,
eight to seven. The Marlins on a six game winning streak.
At the Los Angeles Angels, scored six runs in the
seventh inning for an eight to two win over the
Washington Nationals. Mike Trout his thirteenth home run, the three
hundred and ninety first of his career. Finally, it was

(29:26):
announced on Saturday that incoming Baseball Hall of Famer Dave
Parker has passed away at the age of seventy four.
Parker was a two time World Champion, a seven time
All Star, and was to be formally inducted into the
Baseball Hall of Fame next month. Let's take a special
listen back and remember the way it was one of

(29:47):
the signature plays of Parker's Hall of Fame career. We
take you to the nineteen seventy nine Major League Baseball
All Star Game in the Kingdome at Seattle and this
incredible throw by Dave Parker from the right field corner,
captured by none other than the late great Vin Scully.
Listen watching the right bucket try to run down and

(30:17):
they incredible outfielders, and the league in the world knows.

Speaker 9 (30:23):
That at that shotgun and at the end of eight
it's a sick five.

Speaker 10 (30:27):
So not only an incredible throw from the right field corner,
but you heard the circumstances of that game. It prevented
the go ahead run from scoring by the American League
in the bottom of the eighth inning in the All
Starring Game.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Back to you, guys, Thank you Ilo.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM.
I think that's the appropriate audio to kind of just
illustrate the last time the Pirates were good pretty much, right.
Sounds like there's a concrete truck and it's like during
the game build, I was like, yeah, it's happening, right.

Speaker 5 (31:01):
Rad.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
Like, I mean they won in seventy nine, right, that's yeah,
that's the last Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
See, dude, I just sent you guys that clip.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
I thought it this morning. He was on Twitter the
throw that he that he made in the All Star Game,
and it was I know, it's probably wrong to thingure
about this that I was thinking to myself, like, nowadays,
the catcher would be be the catch, the guy would
be safe because it'd be catcher's interference on the play.
Then there would be a seven minute review to make
sure the guy was out Savedah.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Instead you get to watch.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
This clip and it's just awesome because there's just he
throws the guy out. I think he was out. Look
like he was out. Catcher was blocking the plate. He's out.
Like that's the end of the play.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Everyone celebrates.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Now it's like, oh wait, wait, wait, wait everyone, wait wait,
we got to watch a review seven times, Steve this
guy say or not. That's the only thing about review. Well,
like I don't like all the things abou review, but
one of them is like it ruins moments. You have
these great sports moments and everyone just turns to the
coach and it's like and then he's on the phone
with the video guy, like I should be review it

(32:05):
or not, and it's like review and then you go
it's like just.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Yeah, yeah, they're just totally different.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
They're different. Now the video I just send you as
a Dave Parker throw, incredible throw, I mean, do the
ball three hundred feet line drive got him out. Umpire's
wearing a red sport coat. We should go back to that.
Umpires wearing red sport coats. I know that was a thing.
It was an All Star game thing. And this year,
by the way, Baseball bankfully is going back to everyone
wearing their home and away uniform which in this video

(32:36):
you get to see. And I think it's a great
way for baseball to have more fans enjoy the All
Star Games. Go back to everyone wearing their uniforms.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
But no, guys, I was looking at the seventy nine
lineup because you know, I loved baseball growing up. I
had allegiances to so many teams and just in general
the sport. Growing up playing My father was a coach,
so you know our little league coach, and we just
I grew up baseball. So Willie Stargell, Phil Garner, This

(33:04):
this is some line up here. Stargel, Phil Garner, Tim Foley,
Bill Mattlock, Dave Parker, as we said, omar moreno, John Mansfield,
Ed Dot the Pictures, Jesus the candy Man, John Candelaria,
Burt Blylevin, Jim Bibbie, Kent to Colby. Uh, this was
this was really some team here. I just I forgot

(33:24):
how good the Pirates were that year.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
So it did this.

Speaker 6 (33:28):
Uh when I when I heard about this last I
just heard about it. I was like, wow, I didn't
even know when when we were looking for some stuff
to put in the lineup today. I was like, man,
I didn't even realize he was going to be in
the Hall of Fame just one month away, one month ship.
At least he did know about it, you know that
that he was going in. So that's one one, one

(33:49):
good thing for me to hear.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah, certainly shout out to him, Dave Parker. And like
you mentioned, crack, the We Are Family Pirates legend passes
away at seventy four years as old as Ilo said,
And you know, I am half joking where the audio
is the last time the Pirates were good, So last
time they won a World Series. They've had a couple
of good years since then, since seventy nine. You remember,

(34:16):
think of the early nineties, from ninety ninety one, ninety two,
all those years they're winning ninety five plus games. Remember
the of course you remember like the Barry Bonds years
and sure Sidbream, you know, sliding into home and you
know that those were the Pirates, right, Like the Pirates
were legit at that time.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
But that's it.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Like since ninety three, okay, since nineteen ninety three, they've
had two seasons winning at least ninety games two over
that time. We're talking twenty five plus, you know, you
know in the neighborhood of I can't do the quick
math on the top of my head, but you're talking

(34:56):
like closer to thirty years.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
And that's that's how bad they've been.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
And it's a shame, dude, Like, think how many people
are alive right now. They've been around, but just not
quite long enough to see the Pirates be good, like
they were winning championships, they were winning World Series crowns
with Dave Parker, And there are so many people that
they haven't been alive long enough to remember the Pirates

(35:26):
even being good. That it's just wild where the organization
was and where it is.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
And now they have one of the best young pictures
of baseball who they waste to say, totally waste they can't.
And I know, I know that was a good matchup
on was it Wednesday? Tuesday? Wednesday? When they when they
played that game at two o'clock and it was Skeens
versus that Brewers kid. It was incredible. That was a
that was a fun matchup to watch. I like the
little Little day Baseball. Yeah two PM good good, Yeah,

(35:51):
But I mean Skeens is is not I don't think
he's long for the pirates. I mean they be. They
gotta get just at some point the assets are going
to be. He's worth so much you have to make
the trade.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
It's like your dog foe over there, Jeff. It was
a rare faux fo foe performance from schemes. It's four innings.
I think he gave up for it. Certainly gave up
four Yes, yeah, all right. We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional
sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian No.

Crack. We start with you with something you like.

Speaker 5 (37:36):
Okay, we're gonna go baseball today.

Speaker 6 (37:38):
Let's go first five Saint Louis Cardinals minus at buck
thirty Saint Louis Cardinals first five.

Speaker 5 (37:47):
Crack.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Are you feeling okay? You're betting on the Cardinals?

Speaker 5 (37:51):
Yeah, yeah, you're a bet against them.

Speaker 6 (37:52):
I was betting against them a lot, but it was
just a situational and Brian noticed that, but yeah, no, listen,
there was no will the her bank roll, only Rondo's
first five.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
Sure, okay, I like again, I'm putting this in my
phone right now. Unfortunately in a state that doesn't have
legal sports wagering, which feels should feel illegal. That should
feel illegal. I'm a lit WNBA here, and I know
the line is up because I looked at it this morning.
I'm taking the Links minus eleven and a half first
half against the Sun. The Sun are bad and bad

(38:26):
is a nice way to put it. The Links are
off an overtime win where they did not play terribe
well in the first half. They're back at home. What
was the sudden down? The storm bright thirty at one point,
I think, I think, actually think they cut it.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
To think that they ever covered.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
They covered, So I'm not doing full game, which is
like twenty and a half, which is outrageous. I think
the Links should start fast, put this out of their
misery quickly. Any Collier props walk on the hitover as well.
But the first half minus eleven and a half.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
Links, Okay, I'm gonna lookt to baseball.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
I'm gonna go with this.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Phillies Braves game give me under eight and a half runs.
Ranger Suarez has just been gobbling up innings for the Phillies,
and Spencer Streider is a good picture as well. I
just think runs are gonna be hard to come by
in this one. I'll take under eight and a half.
So if you pulled these three picks together, we're looking

(39:19):
at plus five eleven, right, a little better than five
to one.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
Not bad at all.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
Right, Jeff, where are you? Actually? Looks like heaven?

Speaker 4 (39:27):
Technically I met the beach in South here, a beach
beach by South Carolina. Uh, yeah, it's not. It's not
really set up for camera.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Like the first segment was the profile from the side.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Yeah, it was like seeing that. It looked like you
were enough for the segments because I could move it
back to where it was and it's like, you can't
record that segment. I moved over enough and just get
yet face view for I know it would be.

Speaker 5 (39:56):
Complain about spear tickets. He's got beach house beach houses.

Speaker 4 (39:59):
No, oh no, it's not a beach holds crack all, I.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
Said, all right, coming up next, this guy's action speak
way louder than his words.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
Due, Oh, what is going on? Happy Sunday to you.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Hey, we will get to the action speaking way louder
than this dude's words in just a couple of seconds here.
But be sure to check out the Fox Sports Radio
YouTube channel.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
I want to remind you.

be sure to subscribe to you always have instant access
to our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. All right, So, kicker,
Justin Tucker, he has been suspended for the first ten
weeks of the twenty twenty five NFL regular season. It

(40:49):
was the massage massage gate, if you will, like, Justin
Tucker was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by sixteen Baltimore
area massage therapists. This is from eight different spas the
alleged incidents. This is between twenty twelve and twenty sixteen.

(41:09):
And Tucker all along many times he's denied any wrongdoing.
He's called the allegations unequivocally false. And his agent was like, hey,
I advised him, like, let's just accept this suspension, get
you on the field as soon as possible. Let's put
this difficult episode behind you. And so we're supposed to

(41:30):
believe Justin Tucker totally innocent, completely innocent, all these allegations
unequivocally false, and he's like, yeah, I'll take the ten
game suspension. That does not make any sense whatsoever. If
you are completely innocent, There's no way you wouldn't continue
to fight this. There's just no way. I can't imagine
that if you know, I'm just sitting here minding my

(41:52):
own business and all these massage therapists alleged that I'm
doing something wrong. I'm an NFL player, I get hit
with a ten game suspension, and I just shrug my shoulders, like, yeah,
I just want to put this behind me. I'm like,
this never happened at all, you know, and so I
just don't want to hear these words of it's unequivocally false.
Without the actions, There's no way you wouldn't continue to

(42:14):
fight it. If this was truly, this never happened before.
It's I don't know if you guys have a different view,
but it's clear to me.

Speaker 4 (42:25):
My view is sort of I just sort of trust,
you know, I guess how these normally play out. And
I don't the wrong way to say it, but like
if all these women are accusing you of doing this.
I think you're guilty. I don't know what else to say.

(42:47):
I mean, you know, I will never be accused of
of anything like that. But if I had a friend
who's like, yeah, seven women accused me of this, I'd
be like, yeah, you're probably guilty, buddy. I like that.
That feels like if I don't know what else to
say about Tucker. If all these women they're not they're
not suing you, right like, they're not. I don't think
they are. They could be. I don't Maybe they are.

(43:09):
They just out of nowhere decide to collude together. The
big word of the weak collusion. We had the nfl
PA thing right like, they're cou're they're they're joining. They're
not even colluded, but they're just joining together to make
you look bad for what purpose? So you don't play
in the ravens anymore? I, of course not. They all
have the same story. You did this to all these women,
and it feels pretty cut and dry. He accepted a

(43:31):
suspension without a fight because he's so in it. You said,
you said it, Brian. I believe the women. I believe
the women and the Sean Watson. The thing It's again,
I don't believe all women all the time, but if
thirty women have the same story, it probably happened Crack.
It's not that hard to just say, you know what,
you did these things, And of course it's not gonna

(43:52):
admit it because they will lose his career. But also too,
I think that there is he wasn't good last year,
and I wonder if the pressure of all this got
to him last season. The allegations are finally coming to light.
He knew what was gonna happen this offseason. No one's
gonna sign him. I think he's done. He didn't play anymore.
He wasn't good last year, and now these allegations are out.

(44:14):
I mean, you know, of course there could be a
team you know that needs to kick her a week fourteen,
and they're probably they sign him, right. I mean, I
think he's not gonna play right realistically, but as a
starting kicker for a team, I think that's over with Crag.

Speaker 6 (44:27):
You know, we're in the dead time of the summer
when we're talking about a thirty six year old kicker
who's not even on a team right now. But listen,
Tucker probably just wanted the soul behind him and didn't
want to drag it out any longer. Who knows if
he's guilty or any of these acquisition accusations or not.
I mean to be honest with you. It's almost like
a most don't even care.

Speaker 5 (44:48):
I get it.

Speaker 6 (44:49):
Tucker has not faced any criminal or civil charges that
I know about, And the statute of limitations in Maryland,
uh makes it makes this you know, either seen highly
on likely. It will be interesting to see if a
team comes sign him in November, like Jeff said, maybe
someone that needs a kicker late in the season. Remember
also like like also, like Jeff said, he has not

(45:11):
been a great kicker. I'll even say the last two seasons.
So we may never even hear from him again.

Speaker 5 (45:18):
We'll see.

Speaker 3 (45:19):
I just always listen.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
I always try to play the game of in order
for this to be true, right, And you can play
that game with Justin Tucker, Like, let's just go by
his words all these allegations unequivocally false.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
Think about what that entails.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
Like Justin Tucker's married, He's telling his wife, Babe, never happened,
all these massage therapists, totally making it up like he's
got a family he's got kids, you know, he's telling
his wife nothing happened, and all of a sudden he
gets hit with a ten game suspension, and he's like, yeah,
I just babe, I thought I would just put this
behind me. You know, there's no sense to it. Really,

(45:58):
come on, Like, do you expect me to believe that?
It's ridiculous? It's completely ridiculous. So I just think it's
totally disingenuous to say when all this is going on
unequivocally false, and then it's a ten game suspension, more
than half the season.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
It's a long suspension, and.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Some should argue it's some will argue it should be
worse than that, but it's a significant punishment. If you're like,
quote unquote so innocent here and you don't even fight,
it's ridiculous, man, Like, So we can't just sit here
and be like, we don't know what we do know?

Speaker 5 (46:36):
We do know.

Speaker 4 (46:38):
So this is another situation where the NFL. The NFL
has different speeds at which they punish players. It's just
it's sort of interesting to me. Like, for example, with

(46:59):
three she Rice, they're letting the legal process play out
before they suspend him. He probably got the same suspension
either way, guilty not guilty. I think he'll get the
same suspension. You know, Tucker gets a ten game suspension,
but I think it's supposed to be six right for
this type of incident. But he gets ten games. We've

(47:20):
had players get less because they cooperated with the NFL.
I'm not say everything that has to be uniform, but
you know, they it's just interesting that the speed this goes.
I mean, read the article right now about it. The
attorneys for the accusers said the NFL location was incredibly
thorough and thoughtful. During Friday's press conference, they claimed they

(47:43):
excuse me. They said the NFL interviewed fifteen of their
individuals who claimed Tucker engaged in improper conduct during massage
therapy sessions. The lawyers represent thirteen of the accusers also
said that Tucker's ongoing proclaim of innocence is left quote
many of the victims are clients with the stain of
a denial. Yeah. I just find injoy like the NFL
moves super fast with this, Brian moves slower for other things,

(48:06):
waits for the law enforcement in other cases, which I
think is the right way to do things, but it's
not the way you've done in the past. So ten
games for Justin Tucker and got to live with these accusations,
which again, when I just say thirteen women, I mean
come on, come on, dude, I mean I get it.
You have to you know, maybe for your family and

(48:27):
for things at home, you have to deny it. But
you took a suspension for ten games. It's accusing you
of these things. You just said, yes, yes, I'll take
the suspension. I've always been a ten games I didn't
do anything.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
I'd fight a little bit, right, absolutely, you would. And
that's the thing too, is listen, man, I get it.
It's a sports show. We're going to look at the
sports side of things. That's what we do. But for
a minute, the other side of it. What you mentioned
is very important right there, Jeff, where you read a
quote where think about the victims, So they live through this,

(48:59):
they went through something that was totally not what they
signed up for. There could be a ripple effect with
that based on what happened. And then you have to
hear this guy unequivocally false. Right, It's like, not only
did he do it, but he's saying he didn't. And
you talk about being triggered and it's just it sucks
so much all the way around. I'm sure there's a

(49:21):
more eloquent way to say it, but that just cuts
right to it. It sucks all the way around for
any of the victims that went through that to have
to go through that experience. And then the additional like
cherry on top, which is him saying unequivocally false, they're
just making this up basically, my lord, you know, so
I just hate it all the way around. But hey, listen,

(49:42):
while we're talking about football, there's one other thing I
wanted to mention here where Big Ben Roethlisberger. He's got
his podcast and he came out and said that he
prefers prime Aaron Rodgers over current Patrick Mahomes. And I
just want to make one quick point to you guys
and see you think about it. But Rogers, back in

(50:03):
his prime incredibly talented. There's no doubt about that. But
it's not just about talent. I don't know why we
keep making it only about talent with Aaron Rodgers. No
one's denying that he was incredibly talented at his peak.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
But who's better for your football team?

Speaker 4 (50:24):
Mahomes?

Speaker 3 (50:25):
It's not even close?

Speaker 2 (50:27):
Yeah, Like, why do we only make it about talent.

Speaker 3 (50:31):
It drives me insane. How many years where.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
People like, oh, I've got Rogers over Tom Brady in
the top one hundred list. It's like, why do why
look back on it now it's not even close. Who's
better for your football team?

Speaker 4 (50:46):
Yeah, I I don't know why. Maybe Rogers and Roethlisberger
are from the same era, so he just defaulted to that.
But you know what makes Mahomes so good is just
in those moments he I mean, I'm sure we can
find the fourth quarter numbers of his career, Like just
the way he plays the fourth quarter, the comebacks, He's

(51:08):
had the status in the fourth quarter. And I think
the way is the game has evolved over the years.
He's played with different types of players, had asked different
Last year he just didn't throw the ball deep. He couldn't.
I think this year that changes with healthy wide receiving
corps from the beginning of the season. And like, he
just has evolved over his career and he's won through

(51:29):
super Bowls and Rogers won one, you know yea many
times at the end of his Green Bay tenure where
the Packers the home team in the playoff game, and lost.
The Chiefs have lost two home playoff games because only
played home. By the way, that's a of one season.
They lost him both overtime by three and by six,
like they So I don't know a big ben out

(51:51):
of podcast. I guess everyone gets a podcast now, So
I mean I have a podcast. I guess I guess
if I can have one big back and have one too,
I didn't know. So uh, I know that I'm not
going to listen, but I'm glad you supplied us with
a little bit of U of top of for today.

Speaker 5 (52:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (52:08):
Absolutely, Yeah, it's uh listen, listen man, Like, uh, you know,
the three to one Super Bowl thing kind of hard
to overcome.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
And on top of that, where it's just like.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
When has Roger When has Mahomes shown any of the
bad Rogers tendencies? When has Mahomes been a little bit
too difficult at times to deal with?

Speaker 3 (52:30):
When has he been a little bit of a diva?

Speaker 4 (52:32):
Right?

Speaker 2 (52:32):
Like, it's never been. Those things matter. It's hard enough
to win in the NFL. You don't need to make
it harder on yourself. And Mahomes has never done that.
Rogers has routinely done that. How does that not enter
into the evaluation. It's I don't know, man's I agree.

Speaker 4 (52:53):
I agree that it should matter. I think some people
just look at the talent, and I think that's the
way we should buy these guys. By the way, Cracks,
your birthday, I saw a tweet that said it is
a happy birthday tweets. I saw your birthday.

Speaker 6 (53:04):
I don't know how Charlie knew that. Yeah, Charlie, uh birthday? Yeah, No,
you know what, I don't know what it is. I
love to celebrate other people's just kind of another day
for me. I don't know how Charlie knew that.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
Yeah, So what are we doing to celebrate today? Crack,
we're getting together? We would fire away on.

Speaker 3 (53:22):
W n B A bets.

Speaker 6 (53:23):
Where we're going to? Uh, I'm going with the Sundays.
I have my video poker run where I get uh
seven and fifty bucks from one casino every Sunday. So
I'm going to go over there and I'm going to
have some breakfast, probably at the West Gate over there
there you go. Yeah, so you're welcome to go, But
I know, you know, the Sunday mornings with the missus,
you probably can't get out of anything.

Speaker 3 (53:43):
Oh, I'll be there, man, if you're going, yeah.

Speaker 5 (53:46):
I'm going bring her over, bring her over. Yeah she's awake.

Speaker 4 (53:50):
Sure, Yeah, Look I expect Brian will be anywhere.

Speaker 5 (53:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
Somebody got shived at SIDS as well, you know.

Speaker 6 (54:00):
Oh you know, it was just thinking about that and
thinking about how I love those mob movies. I just
it was amazing that. I don't know why that made
the GM come over and say, guys, you know someone
got whacked in this booth right there, Like, how can
that possibly?

Speaker 5 (54:17):
You know?

Speaker 6 (54:17):
It was just, uh, I just really love these kind
of mob a lower story, but this is a real one.

Speaker 5 (54:22):
So I just know.

Speaker 4 (54:24):
Someone then to ask us while we started calling Brian
ice peck, I'm gonna have to explain the story about
that he once sat in a sea where someone was
ice peck right right, Why wouldn't do the ice picking?

Speaker 6 (54:33):
But no, it's it's a it's a like I said,
I'm not trying to just you know, it's another what
did they say? Another I love the Sopranos of course,
going right back to that, and he said, we all
take different roads. Uncle Junior said, all leading to the cemetery.

Speaker 4 (54:48):
I mean birthday, crack birthday, Yeah, that's I think it was.

Speaker 5 (54:53):
Jack Benny said thirty nine.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
But yeah, you're right, Yeah, no other way, crag.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
I feel like today we got to get your top
three Mob movies. We need a lot, sure, right, we
need a crack list of Mob movies here today.

Speaker 6 (55:08):
You know, all the it's funny all the kids, like
if you ask someone under I'll even say they're forty.
And you know, it's amazing how many of them, like
never even seeing The Godfather or Goodfellas. They're all casino people,
with Jaron Stone, Robert de Niro, you know, Joe Pesci.

Speaker 5 (55:26):
Yeah, I mean, if i'd have.

Speaker 6 (55:28):
To go start out with you know, I want to
put both of them together, Godfather one and two, which
is unbelievable. It's like my favorite movie of all time.
If I had to go to an all time list,
it would be like maybe Casablanca, somethings thrown in there,
but Mob movies would be Godfather, Goodfellas and yeah, sure
I love Casino too, though. I think it's fantastic. Chicago

(55:49):
Mob case Mob absolutely love them.

Speaker 2 (55:52):
Our guy Chris Purfett, technical producer, he's got something here.

Speaker 7 (55:55):
Since I am about forty and come from an Italian family.
It's very it's very funny on the Scarface. I mean
his god I just Freudian slipped there because I was
gonna say the Godfather front. Like all of my cousins
growing up, the Pacino movie was always Scarface, where it's like,
you know, he's not playing an Italian mobster. But that
was always like, yeah, we're gonna watch it anyway because
that's the Pacino flick. So I am now going to

(56:19):
have to work on my top ten here because yeah,
like you say, it's it's fascinating how it goes like
I it's not a lot of love for another janiro One,
which was like once upon a time in.

Speaker 5 (56:27):
America, great movie.

Speaker 9 (56:29):
Sergio Leone, like part of like, you know, the great
Western Director.

Speaker 6 (56:33):
Most people didn't see that though, but you know, it's
it's funny the America. I have seen Scarface the movie
a boy, I don't know, twenty twenty five times. I
mean I thought it was just, you know, great, your
poor Cuban guy and coming over and literally was was
in jail and you know, made his bones and of
course you know, not that I'm for the way he

(56:55):
did it, but uh and then look.

Speaker 5 (56:57):
You know I would hope not Yeah, no, look.

Speaker 4 (57:00):
Pro is pro cocaine on the desk, like not just
some all all the cocaine mountains, the cocaine mountains. He's
pro pro grenade launcher on the bottom of an art.

Speaker 5 (57:20):
Watching that when you're a kid, that's like wow, oh.

Speaker 7 (57:23):
Yeah, it's action packs. Like Godfather is just is very mellow.
I love Godfather Part one, but the scarface is like, yeah,
that's what you're into if you're I think.

Speaker 4 (57:32):
For a lot of us crack who is I will
be forty in a couple of years. Like the pace
of Godfather is hard for some of us to deal
with because we are attention deficit people. So I like
another movies. To me, this move like Goodfellas moves fast.
You know, it's there's a lot happening. Yeah, and so
it seems a little.

Speaker 9 (57:52):
It's got the top culture track and everything.

Speaker 4 (57:54):
Yeahs a little slower, but because you know the thing
that's just like the ending, I still just like, I mean,
top Ways to die getting bean in a cornfield and
thrown into a pit while still breathing near the top
of it, I would imagine, you.

Speaker 3 (58:09):
Know what it was funny about Good Phil It's.

Speaker 2 (58:11):
Someone like the dumb things I love the most in
that movie, like when when they sit down with Joe
Pesci's mom in the movie. Right, oh yeah, oh I
love he needs the knife.

Speaker 3 (58:24):
It's like it's the hoof fiction.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
Deer like.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Deer right in our city.

Speaker 7 (58:32):
I would say, I would say the Big Mobster like
last Like for most people out there, though under under forty,
the Lasting Mafia media memory isn't even a movie.

Speaker 9 (58:42):
It's the sopranos, that is it?

Speaker 7 (58:45):
Like the soprano I mean, rightly so, because that's what
made Prestige TV.

Speaker 4 (58:50):
Yeah, sure, yeah, that's right. It's probably that's probably the
right answer, right for for a lot of us, it's
it's sopranos. Is that is that mob Mob movie Mob show?

Speaker 5 (58:59):
Right?

Speaker 4 (58:59):
And yep?

Speaker 2 (59:00):
And that's like the common ground right there. You know,
I've never heard anyone be like, no bad overrated. I've
never heard that. It just seems like it's like Santana
or Jimmy Hendrix who talks trash about Jimmy, you know
what I mean, Like everybody's on board with sopranos. All right,
We've got Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper. We've got Jeff Schwartz,

(59:20):
eight year NFL veteran.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
I'm Brian.

Speaker 9 (01:00:27):
This follow the money, real good money.

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Yes, we welcome in Christian Cipolini, bet MGM Trading Manager.
Good morning Christian. You know it's funny. I always ask you,
what do you need at BETMGM? Right, you need this team,
you need this player because there are a lot of
betters like Crack. They like to align themselves with the
book maker because this Crack says God protects the bookmakers.

(01:00:54):
But I just thought, right before you came on today,
are there days now that we get sort of to
the dog days of the betting calendar? Are there days
where you're like, we really don't need anything of great significance?

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
How oftome does that happen around this time of year?

Speaker 8 (01:01:12):
Day like today is one of those, for sure, And
in fact, realistically a good amount of the summer does
have a lot of days like that. You know, we
might have a few leans in a couple of these
MLB games, but for the most part, it's more quantity
over quality in those and as long as you know,
enough of the games go in our direction, we should
be okay. I mean sometimes in the summer now with

(01:01:33):
w NBA and the fever, it's whoever's not playing the fever.
Maybe if a golf tournament's going on in Scotty's leading,
it's not Scotty, but little things like that, but sort
of for as a whole, you know, mostly the summer
is nice and quiet and just kind of let the
results go as they may.

Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
How much did you guys get on a fight night,
like like last night, something that you guys routine lead
book a lot? Is it more just like people that
are huge fight fans, like, how do you find a
Saturday night when there was a big fight?

Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:02:06):
A lot of times it's really depend dependent on the cards,
and you know, if it's a big enough card, you
know we'll see the action rise with it. Last night's card,
looking at the results, didn't go well for the better
as it seems. It seems that whatever people thought didn't
seek to go that way judging by what we had.
But that was a pretty popular card. I guess, you know,

(01:02:27):
maybe some of that is the fact that there's not
as much action on could have just been the headliners
of the card. A little bit of both that, you know,
always depends on who's who's the big headliner.

Speaker 5 (01:02:37):
Christian you missed, you missed.

Speaker 6 (01:02:39):
We had a great little segment here, and if we
really feel that Christian should have been involved in this
segment great mob movies. Now I have to ask you, like,
you know a guy that's at the beginning of the season.
I know, well last year you were over in Italy
and you know, having a vout at the end of
your last name, you may I definitely would appreciate your
opinion on this, would give us your like top three

(01:03:02):
mob movies. And and uh, you know something you'll like
if you're fucking channels and you come across a movie,
you'll sit there even though you know the movie, You'll
still watch it.

Speaker 8 (01:03:13):
That is very funny. We can tell her in the
dog days of summer is.

Speaker 12 (01:03:18):
Yeah, yeah, but I recently recently had knee surgery back
in February where I was six weeks without walking, and
I watched the Godfather trilogy, so uh, not just for
the first time, for you know, many of the times,
but yeah, Godfather too has got to.

Speaker 8 (01:03:35):
Be definitely on there.

Speaker 9 (01:03:36):
Good Fellas.

Speaker 8 (01:03:40):
And then after that, you know, I don't know if
the Bronx tail really counts as much that was always it. Yeah,
I mean it is more it's a little bit different
for the rest. But between that and Casino, i'd say
those are brown and out myself.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
Three very nicely done.

Speaker 5 (01:03:58):
Love that.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
We got to snake NFL in here, Christian where of course,
I'm curious in the off season, right, like if you're
trying to paint a picture in terms of traffic in
the futures market, do you see a bump when, like
maybe when the schedule is released or how does it
break down, like June, July, August when you you really
start to see that traffic come in.

Speaker 8 (01:04:24):
Yeah, it'll be quiet for the next couple of weeks
until training camps really start up.

Speaker 5 (01:04:29):
Yeah, the bump.

Speaker 8 (01:04:29):
Comes from schedule release because obviously there's a ton of
information that you get once that all comes out, you know,
the opponents, but once you know kind of the landscape
of the schedule by weeks, you know, three straight road games.
But we'll see a big bump from there and until
we get to the training camp where you know, you
really start to see if certain players might emerge. That's
when our player approps will change. Right now, Like this

(01:04:52):
is where you know, when we get into the quieter
time of the year, the training team does now focus
more on these NFL props over the next couple of
weeks while it's quiet the planet to really get our
entire offering props out, to make sure to sweep pretty
much everything we can for that, so we're prepared for
one that training camp starts and people do start trickling
in because, as we mentioned often on here, NFL is king,

(01:05:13):
and you know we will see a good amount of
action throughout the summer.

Speaker 4 (01:05:17):
The NBA Draft was on Wednesday. I didn't make a
weight drive. It's probably one of the only events I
just skipped on. I was tired of betting on NBA
and losing for the higher postseason. Did you see much
action on the draft props? I know you guys had
up some you know where players get drafted, some individual
matchups between players to get drafted first. What'd you see

(01:05:39):
on Wednesday night from draft prop waydering?

Speaker 8 (01:05:44):
Yeah, very rare time. Or we did okay on the
draft A nice small winner that is typically a losing
market for us and those props that you mentioned. Draft
position is one that, uh more often than not is
a losing outcome, but we you know, results just seemed
to break in a decent way for us on some
of those. Some of it probably was kind of the

(01:06:06):
lack of trades a lot of times chaos is uh
could be a problem.

Speaker 5 (01:06:13):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (01:06:13):
And and the fact that it was a I think
as Bailey actually did with a lot of favors with
just being so unsure where he was going to go
because of all the rumors of him uh skipping workouts
and all that. It made it very difficult from what
was originally thought to be a one two three pretty
easy draft where he was going to fall started to

(01:06:33):
lead to a lot of question marks, and we took
bets on him for a third overall, fourth overall, fifth overall,
sixth overall. So I think that definitely helps out a
lot for there. So I'm happy that draft season is
over with that in the NHL draft and kind of
back to back days there. So yeah, all in all,
and then and then super Flag being a very obvious

(01:06:55):
number one overall is helpful for us.

Speaker 6 (01:07:00):
You know, Christian, let me ask you last night, I
get been getting a list of UFC plays.

Speaker 5 (01:07:06):
I don't bet UFC.

Speaker 6 (01:07:07):
I just think it's so random, but However, I've been
getting this list and last night it was very it
was a good list.

Speaker 5 (01:07:14):
I didn't bet it.

Speaker 6 (01:07:15):
I just sat by the the you know what TV
watching There was some of the results. But let me
ask you, as far as UFC, you guys get a
lot of UFC betting. Is there are a lot of
sharp guys in that particular market.

Speaker 8 (01:07:29):
Yeah, I was goin to say, like UFC, a lot
of times we'll have a lot of betters that like
really really know their stuff, and you know, it can
be tough at times because it's you know it. You
there are props that you can bet, but if you
are a true UFC better, a lot of times you're
going for money line and sometimes that's minus four hundred
minus five hundreds out there. But the ones that are

(01:07:50):
really successful and we are the ones that are able
to predict when an underdog is going to be able
to beat, you know, someone that might be a big
favorite and and sometimes there are some people that have
a really good keen eye for that that we notice.
And but yeah, from kind of your original question, it
always depends on the card. If there are big names
to the top, we'll see more action than normal.

Speaker 5 (01:08:10):
Obviously, or the.

Speaker 3 (01:08:12):
Rear naked choke market, right, Christian, Yeah, we.

Speaker 8 (01:08:16):
Do have ourn't May Shutters has done a really good job.
There's a lot of really unique markets out there. You
can bet exact finishing outcomes, so you know, yeah, we'll
be a rear naked choke. We have all those ones
out there. So if you really want to get into
the nitty gritty, we have a ton of options out
there for you.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
Awesome stuff. Christian, I always appreciate you popping on man.
Hope you have a great Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:08:35):
We'll catch you soon.

Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
Yeah, next week, very nice, looking forward to it. There
is Christian Cipolini bet MGM, Trading Manager. Now we go
straight to the tire rack play of the day. Let's
do that pay all bitch in the air at the center.
Michael Harris is back, Michael's got.

Speaker 10 (01:08:52):
A beat on it and he squeezes it from the
final loud and the Braves wins six to one over the.

Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Pillage, compliments of Braves Radio Network Braves catcher Sean Murphy
Grand slam Hey.

Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
For over forty years.

Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
Tyraq has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive, shipped fast and free back
by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation tiraq dot com the way tire buying
should be. I'll tell you an ultra quick story. When
I was doing radio in upstate New York shout out
all been in New York. We would go to a

(01:09:28):
local sports bar often for UFC nights. Wolf's One eleven
was a really great sports bar and give me these
We're talking about mob movies and some of the best
of all time. They would give me movies to give away.
We do like trivia questions, the most embarrassing movies ever
to give away.

Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
It's a UFC crowd. They're rowdy.

Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
I can't be like, hey, if you can answer this question,
we're gonna give.

Speaker 3 (01:09:50):
You this awful movie.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
I'd be like, I'll buy you a bucket of beers
for whoever correctly points out a rear naked chow co
hold as being applied. And It'd be like at the
very end of the night, and I'd slip my mind
into somebody be like, rear.

Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
Naked choke rude.

Speaker 2 (01:10:04):
I'm like a horrid I owe you beer Nowlex. I
always think about that with the all many days, but
at any event, Kristen Sipolini would go from him to
another heavy hitter, and Isaac Loewen Krawn, who is a
submission specialist.

Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
I don't know if you know that about it.

Speaker 10 (01:10:24):
There's so many connotations to that, but I will I
will say that is in the UFC Mixed Martial Arts
contest for sure. Actually, I was just looking on maybe
this is our top trending story Wolf's one eleven. I'm
not sure it's still open anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
I don't think it is right. I'm pretty sure it's John.

Speaker 10 (01:10:45):
Yeah, we do have our memories of Wolf's one eleven
in Albany, New York. Ause you mentioned on the field
on Saturday night, the Atlanta Braves six to one victory
over the Phillies. Spencer Schwellenbach of the Braves a career
high twelve strikes in that game. The Cubs won at
Houston twelve to three. The Cubs Kyle Tucker four hits,
including a three run home run against his former team.

(01:11:06):
The Miami Marlins won at Arizona in ten innings, eight
to seven. The Marlins on a six game winning streak.
The Los Angeles Angels scored six runs on the seventh
inning for an eight two win over Washington, Mike Trout
his thirteenth home run, the three hundred and ninety first
of his career, and guys in short track auto racing
on Saturday night in Winston Salem, North Carolina, and insane

(01:11:30):
brawl broke out family feud style between father and son
racers Zach and Kyler Staley and father and daughter racers
Brad and Emily Lewis. Now in the final lap, Kyler
Staley and Brad Lewis were neck and neck for the
lead when Zach Staley slowed down to try and block

(01:11:51):
Brad Lewis's car. Brad Lewis won the race anyway, but
then Emily Lewis rammed Zach Staley's car for what he
tried to do to her dad, and then chaos ensued.
Here's how it all sounded on Flowspoards.

Speaker 13 (01:12:04):
Here we go off the final turn. Stally slops in
front of him as they wreck.

Speaker 11 (01:12:08):
Across the start finish line. Madness inhouse, Emily Lewis takes
out Zach Staley. She didn't appreciate that.

Speaker 13 (01:12:16):
Zach Staley was slowing down to interfere with the race
finish and aid his son.

Speaker 11 (01:12:23):
Oh we got them jaw jacking on the start finish line.

Speaker 13 (01:12:26):
Staley here comes here to Sax Staley running across the
grass Zazach. Staley is running across the infield at Bowman
Gray Stadium.

Speaker 1 (01:12:34):
He's going after Emily.

Speaker 5 (01:12:35):
He gets on.

Speaker 9 (01:12:36):
Emily Lowis's car and he jumps on it. Destruction drum.

Speaker 4 (01:12:40):
He's whipping the sheet.

Speaker 5 (01:12:41):
Metal off the car. Staly's are fighting.

Speaker 11 (01:12:45):
Everybody's on their feet and now they're to the ground.
Police have intervened as emotions explode at the Coliseum of Chaos.
We got headlocks, we got birds, We've got Rick Flair chomps.

Speaker 5 (01:12:58):
Tyler.

Speaker 9 (01:12:59):
Staley's on his are flipping off the winners? Who knew
that short track auto racer? Was that fun? Back to
you guys?

Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
Wow, very nicely done right there. I'll tell you you know,
I always when I see a fist fight, the joke
I have with my mom were like fisticuffs because sometimes
the commentators say that, you know, it's like contusion, it's
just a bruise, but it's a fancy commentator way of
saying it, like, oh, fisticuffs. So any type of fight

(01:13:27):
breaks out, we're like, oh, fisticuffs. If it's just words.
I'll jokingly say we got verbal fisticuffs, but I like
what that guy say, we got some jaw jackin. I'm
gonna have to work that into my playbook right there.
I thought that was incredibly well done.

Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
If you could guess what Zach Statey looked like. I
think it's not a.

Speaker 3 (01:13:46):
Surprise quick search.

Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
Oh yeah, I'm trying find I'm trying to find the video.
I think there was a second. I think there was another.
There was a fight in April between Zach Staley and
Justin Halverson. So like, that's not the first time this
series even fought.

Speaker 2 (01:14:02):

Yes, the prop betting market crack. What better way to
celebrate your birthday than getting down on a bunch of
prop bets?

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
Right, what do you have for us?

Speaker 6 (01:15:28):
Let's go with a little w NBA. Let's getting a
WNBA prop here. Elizabeth Thomas Phoenix over fifteen and a
half rebounds assist.

Speaker 5 (01:15:38):
She's averaging ten point eight. Well, actually in June these.

Speaker 6 (01:15:44):
Numbers, let's just go rebounds and assist averaging a little
bit of over twenty twenty one.

Speaker 5 (01:15:48):
She has nineteen plus four over the last five.

Speaker 6 (01:15:51):
Games, only the only miss being a twenty point point blowout.
Twenty one point blowout. So today should be a close
game and versity. I listen, Thomas over fifteen and a
half rebounds assists good?

Speaker 5 (01:16:04):
Up to it?

Speaker 6 (01:16:04):
Up to a dollar thirty five or I see over
plus sixteen and a half minus so five.

Speaker 5 (01:16:08):
That's fine too.

Speaker 8 (01:16:09):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
I even commented to Jeff recently, I'm like, I took
a great job. Like bro, we got to play a
list of Thomas over rebounds and assists more.

Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
There have been games have eight assists?

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
Are like eight rebounds fifteen assists? Yeah, you're like, Holy hell,
that happens sometimes.

Speaker 4 (01:16:30):
I like the Brewers over four and a half runs
today against the Rockies, guys, how about this? I bet
the Rockies under nine and a half wins for a
month of gym. Right. They won their ninth game a
week ago Dodgers swept them. The Brewers have won two
of three. Today is their last game in the month.

Speaker 5 (01:16:48):
Of gym.

Speaker 4 (01:16:48):
Wow do I hedge nine and a half says you
take the Rockies money line today, I'm gonna let it ride.
I feel like I have a union and a half
on the Rockies under nine and a half wins for
the month right now at MGM, the Brewers are minus
two seventy five favorites today. Yeah, so I'm gonna let
it ride. I'm not headging, I'm letting it ride. Crack.
What do you think?

Speaker 5 (01:17:10):
Hey, let it ride? Go ahead?

Speaker 4 (01:17:12):
Love cracks like I practiced. So he heard the exotic
wagers just checked out. I also, by the way, Scoobols
throwing Tonight, who only gave up a bunch of home
runs against last star against the A's. I it's kind
of a weird, weird run for him and then last start,
but I like him. Tonight over seven a half strikeouts
against the Twins the Tigers on Sunday Night baseball for

(01:17:34):
the first time in like five years. I think it
is Tonight's and the Twins have the second highest strikeout
rate against lefties this season. To give me scooble over
seven half strikeouts?

Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
Okay like it?

Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
Yeah, I'm gonna stick with baseball here. So the Red
Sox they won yesterday fifteen to one.

Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
Yeah, smashing against the Blue Jays.

Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
But listen, man, sometimes you gotta have the nerves of
a burglar. So I'm looking at Toronto starting pitcher Eric Lower.
I'm gonna take under two and a half earned runs.
It's at even money, it's plus one hundred. Now here's
the good thing with Lower. He doesn't go deep in games.
So if you're on the under two and a half runs,

(01:18:19):
five innings is pretty much is max. You know, there
is some where it's four innings, four and a third,
four and a third, four and two thirds. He's typically
not going over five innings. He's done that once this
entire season, So that's good if you're trying to stay
under two and a half earned runs. And the other
thing is he doesn't give up a whole lot of
earned runs either. He's ad one outing this entire season

(01:18:42):
where he's given up three earned runs and that's his peak.

Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
So I like Eric Lower, the.

Speaker 2 (01:18:49):
Blue Jays starting pitcher under two and a half earned
runs at even money today. That's what I have for you.

Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
I'm kind I like it in depth there.

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
Brian, thank you appreciate that that's.

Speaker 4 (01:19:00):
An interesting he one in a sky, a sky and
Sparks over today because the Sky played every game that
the Sky goes over. I get interest you in that
as well. Today like it if you get one sixty
seven and a half, it's it's it's a high number.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
You know what I have to do.

Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
I have to if I lose a wager, just flush
it because I'm the better that. I won't chase it
the next game, but I'll complain about it the next game,
you know what I mean. Like I was on I
was on a Leah Boston. She doesn't get there on
her points total. The next night, it's like, of course
she has twenty one. She had come through from me

(01:19:40):
last game. But you' you know, I'll do that with
the Sparks. The Sparks played well against the Fever, and
you know, watch him stink it up, and I'm like, of.

Speaker 3 (01:19:49):
Course they're sticking it up now, you know, I'm that guy.

Speaker 4 (01:19:52):
I need to I go back to it. I'm not
a Frank Brian.

Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
I go back to it. Yeah, sometimes that's the best
time to pounce. Just go right back to the well.
All right, coming up next, this team is out of
its freaking mind. We will discuss why Oh happy Sunday too.
You hope your day is off to a fantastic start. Fellas,
we got to talk about a team that is out

(01:20:20):
of its mind. That would be the New Orleans Pelicans.
Have you heard about this? So Draft Night Wednesday? First round,
second round Thursday. Let's hone in on the first first round.
The Pelicans moved up ten spots to draft Derreck Queen
out of Maryland. Had a very good freshman season, might

(01:20:42):
be a good NBA pro Who knows. Some didn't have
him rated in their top thirty players. But the Pelicans
move up ten spots. They get him in the first round,
but they gave up their unprotected first round pick next season. Guys,
the Pelicans aren't gonna be bad.

Speaker 5 (01:21:05):
They might be.

Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
The worst in the NBA. They were twenty one and
sixty one this past season. That was the fourth worst
record in the in the NBA. Who knows how the
ping pong balls are gonna fall. The Pelicans most likely
will be one of the worst teams. This could be
the number one overall pick. This could be a top

(01:21:26):
three pick. It's unprotected for Derek Queen. Derek Queen, I
don't know it could be a good NBA player. Time
will tell that is way too big of a risk
for a team that needs all of these premium picks
that they can get their hands on to rebuild.

Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
That is just a wild swing. This is like.

Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
Swinging at an outside curveball like the catcher is lunging
like oh shoot, I don't and you're just swinging from
your heels like blindly. That is not smart. You're not
gonna get a hit that way. And that's just what
Joe Dumars and the Pelicans did with this this transaction here.
It's why it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:22:07):
Yeah, so this is really interesting because it makes you
think there's something else happen, Like something else, right, Brian,
Like they something else has to happen here, right, They're
not just this is what this is what it is.
They're just going to end with this. I mean, it
doesn't feel like this is the end of what they're
doing this offseason. That brings into mind what's happened with

(01:22:30):
Zion Zion God new agent. Maybe this is an idea
that we're going to get rid of Zion and we'll
get those first round picks back. Possibly the only way
it makes sense because Derek Queen is not a guy
you basically use two first round picks on, which is
what they're doing because the next year they get up

(01:22:50):
the first round picked. So it's very interesting that they
went in this direction, and it makes me think that
there's more coming here with New Orleans. It's not just
going to be this is the end of their office
because they trade McColl them away already, right if I'm crap.
So it makes me think that there's something else that's

(01:23:11):
gonna happen, and I'm curious what that's gonna be in
It probably has to revolve around Zion.

Speaker 2 (01:23:18):
Yeah, maybe could be. They've said that they're keeping him,
building around him. But you might be right. There might
be something else to this. But I don't know what
there is that would make you go, Okay, I get
it now, that's why you would trade your unprotected first
round pick for Derek Queen. I still don't think there's
something that would make you go like, oh, I'm on

(01:23:38):
board now, but I hear you there could be something
else coming.

Speaker 6 (01:23:42):
It's interesting that the Pelicans give up the unprotected first
round draft pick for next season. They must really have
loved this guy McQueen. So they aren't supposed to be
a playoff team next year, so this should be a
lottery pick they gave up on with the potential to
be first pick.

Speaker 5 (01:23:58):
I don't know what you know.

Speaker 6 (01:24:00):
I guess they just really loved this guy, like I said,
and didn't want to miss out on him. I really
have no other reason.

Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
Yeah, he's just not He's not that good. I think
to give up an extra first round pick for one
first round pick fine two seems just yeah, really not
worth it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
Would you use a number one overall pick, uh and
Derek Queen? No, no, no, you would not, and they
might have just done that and another pick to your point, Yeah, yeah, which.

Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
Is why it feels like it's just it doesn't make
much sense to us unless there's something else that is
coming down the line for them, which is again possible.

Speaker 2 (01:24:43):
By the way, what are your thoughts on kd getting
traded to Houston?

Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
You on board with that?

Speaker 4 (01:24:48):
Well, I think what we saw last year with Houston
not last year. Guess a few months ago with Houston
in the postseason, they desperately need Kevin Duran. He can
still score, Caber I can still play. So the other
things that I that I question is Kadi seems to
wear out, has welcome pretty fast in a lot of places,

(01:25:09):
and I think you hope that you hit it so
well early that that doesn't matter. But I do wonder
if that becomes an issue eventually here in Houston. But again,
it might not matter because you're trying to win immediately.
I do not buy the second best team in in
in you know, in the West, which is what right now.

(01:25:31):
I believe they have the second best office to win
the West, Brian. But I like what they did. They
didn't have to trade, you know, their best players. Green
clearly didn't have in the postseason, which would worry you
if you're a Rockets fan. They got rid of him,
So I like it. I think it makes a lot
of sense to what they did.

Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
You crack, you like it, You like KD going to Houston.

Speaker 6 (01:25:51):
Listen, I gotta tell you that there's a couple of
different trades that that have really that that has happened.

Speaker 5 (01:25:59):
That happened. I think they made a bigger deal of.

Speaker 6 (01:26:02):
It than than than actually what actually happened, you know,
the big trade with La. Of course, I'm just not
into n b A trading talk. How bad things are.
That's why I really said not too much about this.
I just thought it was interesting to get unprotected first
round where they could have maybe get up something different there.
But as far as like the big names going over

(01:26:24):
here and there, there's they got they got to know
more than us, more than us guys, they right that
there's something something I'm not going to say medically or something.
They just uh, they get paid, you know, lots of money,
these guys, the gms and the and the people in
the positions of scouting and and uh, you know, not
even scouting. I mean, obviously this this big decisions, like Katie,

(01:26:45):
these these come from the top. So I'm not gonna
say scouts are involved there, but uh, they mustn't.

Speaker 5 (01:26:50):
I would think in the end, it's about the bucks,
isn't it.

Speaker 6 (01:26:53):
Isn't it to put money in the in the seats
and the more money for their teams In the end,
I would.

Speaker 2 (01:26:58):
Think, I mean, that's part of it, but it's also
they're trying to compete for a championship. This did change
their odds. They're like over two in the pecking order
to win a championship. It does seem very high. And
the thing to me is, I love Kevin Durant As
a basketball player, He's a walking bucket. He's obviously a

(01:27:19):
shoe in Hall of Famer. He's one of the better
players of this current generation of NBA dudes. But it
almost reminds me of Rogers, and hear me out on
this because I'm not saying that KD is dramatic and
high maintenance and all those things that Rogers is. I

(01:27:39):
just think that it's you got to look beyond the numbers.
You got to look just beyond talent and stats, right,
I think you have to look at the intangibles and
impact and the culture that you generate and all of
those things where I think that Kevin Durant he is
a competitive player, but he's not this competitive maniac that

(01:28:02):
is consumed with winning, you know what I mean. And
I think that's really important. We've got young guys like
Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith Junior, and having that type
of culture is a big deal for the Rockets, and
I just don't think KD is that type of dude.
It doesn't kill him when he loses, you know, like
it killed Jordan, it killed Goby, it killed some of

(01:28:25):
the greats when they lost, and it does not affect
KD the same way, like he's just out in some
of the interviews, you know, like KD, what do you
think about these trade rumors? During last season he was
sitting down with Malika Andrews and he's like, yeah, I
don't I don't want to move during the season. It's like,

(01:28:46):
that's that's why you want to stay in Phoenix. Really,
Like MJ would be like, we're gonna get this right.
I don't care if I've got to kill everybody we
were getting that, we're going to win. That's just not
where KD is. So he's a confounding player.

Speaker 5 (01:29:01):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:29:02):
I love him.

Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
I think it's fantastic, But I think you got to
look beyond just the talent and just the individual production
and look at the overall impact. And I just don't
think he's that competitive maniac that a younger team really needs.
He needs to be that engine that drives you in
the direction of winning.

Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
I don't think he's that guy.

Speaker 4 (01:29:21):
Is there a young player like that in the NBA?
And No, I feel like that's not what the league is.
A Namore, I mean, I I mentioned as many times
I'm bringing up again, like since since Sunday. I mean
there was barely a celebration by Okay, see the end
of that win on Sunday. I mean SGA like didn't celebrate.
I mean, I get it, you want to be even

(01:29:44):
keel as much as possible, But is there that that
that same would you talk about right from younger players NBA?
I argue that generation is just not like that.

Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
Yeah, I give you one guy.

Speaker 2 (01:29:59):
Yeah, it's funny because Kevin Durant is his favorite player.
But if you're looking at a guy, well, I'm talking
about the intangibles, the fire, the competitive fury. I think
it's Anthony Edwards with the Timberwolves.

Speaker 1 (01:30:12):
Net.

Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
Dude is a fiery competitor. He wants to win.

Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
It's obvious he's competing night in, night out.

Speaker 3 (01:30:22):
Uh, That to me is what I'm talking about here.

Speaker 2 (01:30:24):
Like, if you put that star with this Rockets, I
think that makes a bigger difference than kd is going
to Well.

Speaker 4 (01:30:35):
I mean, look, they basically have Kadie for the postseason, right, Like,
that's why, and so if you get what you need
from him in the postseason, I think it ends up
working out. But it's not a long term solution for
them for anything right by any means, yeah, no doubt, guys.

Speaker 6 (01:30:53):
Just to give you an mgm och. I know it's
next year, it's a year. You're tiring your money up
for a year. But NBA Finals Thunder plus two, forty
Cavaliers plus seven to one, Rockets seven and a half
to one, Nicks nine and a half. We'll go down
to those Timberwolves at fourteen to one, with the Lakers
Magic fifteen to one.

Speaker 5 (01:31:10):
The restaurant all higher.

Speaker 6 (01:31:12):
Real tough to tie your money up for a year,
but yeah, like I said, they have the best odds
on certain things, like the Mavericks at thirty five to one.
No one's really close to that. I see twenty five
to one the strip. I actually see one place at
twenty to one. That's ridiculous. Wow, But yeah, thirty five
to one there. So just to give the fans some
of bet MGM's odds there. For the future, well, I

(01:31:35):
know we're all looking at NFL futures though, as a
matter of fact, I have an NFL future for the
end of this show, just to let everyone know. I
usually don't like to like to give about something that's
pertaining to right now, but let me tell you something.
It is right now it's thirty days away. I mean,
we're so and you want you want to get the

(01:31:56):
best of some lines here and this line that I'm
gonna I gave you, guys, this team not to make
the playoffs, and now I'm going to give you this
season wins under. So we're gonna we're gonna talk about
that at the at the end of the show.

Speaker 4 (01:32:08):
I'm looking at first there's a shop that offers the
record for the first five games of the season. It
can be for teams to win the first five this season. Uh,
as soon as I get back North Carolina later today,
I'm making this wager for this team to have zero
or one win in the first one is this season.

(01:32:30):
So we're already we're in it. Guys. It's almost football.
I mean that Hall of Fame game. We're going over, baby,
I'm telling you right now, we're going over. It's two.
It's the number keeps game lower and lower. And you
get two coaches in Campbell and Harball. They're going to
fight to the very last breath of this game. They're
not going to give up, they're not going to stop playing.

(01:32:50):
So I'm telling you right now we're over. Is it's
going to be in the pocket for that for that game.

Speaker 2 (01:32:56):
Okay, I want to hear all this stuff. Hey, Before that,
we've got some breaking.

Speaker 1 (01:33:00):
News, breaking news from Fox Sports.

Speaker 9 (01:33:05):
From the NBA.

Speaker 10 (01:33:07):
Lebron James is opting in to his fifty two point
six million dollar player option for the twenty twenty five
twenty six season, according to his agent Rich Paul.

Speaker 9 (01:33:19):
Guys, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:33:21):
Yeah, I mean, anyone else turns down fifty million dollars?
Is that what you guys do in your work too?
You turn down fifty million dollars?

Speaker 2 (01:33:27):
Not unless I think it's more than fifty two million dollars.

Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
You know, that's the only other way.

Speaker 4 (01:33:32):
I don't think he's going to. The Lakers are interesting
because with this Apron business to the NBA, they can't
get a center.

Speaker 3 (01:33:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:33:41):
I don't know that. I don't know what they do
for center. It's still a problem, Brian. I mean they
don't have a center. Hugezone issue.

Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
Yeah, you saw the Timberwolves punk him. I mean, like,
who is the crazy Rudy go bear game? How many
rebounds did he have?

Speaker 4 (01:33:58):
Insane? But also I also not paying Nasrin one hundred
and twenty five million dollars a year. I mean in
a contract either. So there's you know, multip words to
look at this. But I just the Lakers need a
center man in this Apron business. The Apron business was
bad for the NBA. It's too complicated. It's really going
to hurt teams like Okay, see they want to keep
their guys together and they won't be able to. But

(01:34:21):
it really is preventing teams, I think, from growing the
way that we've seen in the past.

Speaker 3 (01:34:25):
Yeah, it is all right.

Speaker 2 (01:34:27):
We've got a Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz,
eight year NFL veteran, I'm Brian.

Speaker 1 (01:34:33):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:34:33):

(01:35:38):
so you guys man, you have wetted my ball appetite
over here right. You're talking about NFL futures, and this
one caught my eye. If you look at the division market,
the Kansas City Chiefs, they are only minus one twenty
five to win the AFC West. They've won it nine

(01:36:02):
straight years, like Mahomes has done at seven straight. Andy
Reid has done it nine straight like you did it
twice with Alex Smith before Mahomes took over nine straight seasons.
The Chiefs have won the AFC West. They're going for
a decade here, and I like their chances. If you look,

(01:36:22):
the Chargers are plus three thirty three, Broncos are plus
three fifty so both of those teams are a little
better than three to one odds. The Raiders are at
twelve to one, so good luck there. Which are you betting?
Are you betting the Chiefs after getting punked in the
Super Bowl? Right? I actually like that heading into this season,

(01:36:43):
that it went so badly for them in the Super
Bowl on the biggest stage. And you look, they get
Rashie Rice back to go with Xavier Worthy Hollywood Brown.

Speaker 3 (01:36:53):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:36:54):
That's a pretty good trio for Mahomes to throw to
Kelsey's losing weight. The d defense was top five scoring
defense last season.

Speaker 5 (01:37:04):
I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
Minus won twenty five. I gotta be all over the
Chiefs winning the AFC West. Do you go otherwise? You
go in a different direction there.

Speaker 4 (01:37:14):
This seems rather silly that this is as low as
it is and it's just a reaction based off the
Super Bowl. The Chiefs are still all in this season
in guys, let's about their offense quickly. I think people
look at last season and how difficult it was the
time to move the ball. We do realize that they're

(01:37:36):
going to be better offensively. Joshiman is the left tackle
that they just brought in, appears to be healthy and
people said that he was the best offensive tackle in
the class last year before he got hurt. So that's
obviously great for the Chiefs. Next they're going to have

(01:37:57):
Ray she Wei's healthy, who was great last year for games.
Is every worthies in year two? And remember Hollywood Brown
last year, guys did not play until the very end
of the season. Like, they're gonna be better offensively, you know, defensively,
some question marks I think are fair fair to say,
but like, I'm surprised people are so down. We can't
see this season guys. And I think they're still in

(01:38:18):
win now mode with Travis Kelsey being back for one
more season. I would be hind the Chiefs and I
still am, and I think the Chiefs are winning the
AFC West crack.

Speaker 6 (01:38:29):
Yeah, all right, guys, let's give you some current MGM odds, which,
by the way, again, if you're gonna bet this AFC
West Division, MGM one of the best ones out there.
I could see Chiefs minus one twenty five Chargers plus
three thirty three Broncos plus three fifty Raiders plus twelve

(01:38:50):
to one. Now, I'll just tell you here's the reason.
Here's the main reason why. In my opinion, boy, so
many people are high on the Chargers, and you know
I shouldn't say, but every year that's the number one.
Even the wise guys every year always high on the Chargers.
But this year you throw those in the mix. People

(01:39:11):
are high on the Broncos. So now you throw the
Broncos in that mix, I guess they're getting some three
way action. I mean, anyone betting the Raiders I don't
think so, So I guess there is some three way action.
MGM also books AFC West finishing position. You could bet second,

(01:39:32):
so second the Chiefs are plus one eighty and then
then of course you could pick third and fourth, which
the Raiders at fourth of course would look like the
way to go. But going back to that, I really think,
even from doing other shows, I hear other people talking
about the Chargers, but this year they're actually throwing the

(01:39:53):
Broncos in that mix. That has to be the reason, right,
I mean, it has to be the reason.

Speaker 4 (01:39:59):
You guys. Yeah, the team that wins the division every year,
for the most part, is only the best quarterback. Yeah,
who's the best quarterback? But whomes the best quarterbacks?

Speaker 3 (01:40:07):
Absolutely, it is no doubt.

Speaker 4 (01:40:10):
Correctly Why I don't get it, I mean I do
get it. You want to pick someone else right, like
you don't want to be I get that part of it.
But the fact is, like this should be Chiefs or
nothing else.

Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
Yeah, it's who do you like? You mentioned going second?

Speaker 5 (01:40:25):
Correct?

Speaker 3 (01:40:25):
If you're betting on someone to finish second, who are
you betting on?

Speaker 5 (01:40:28):
Yeah? Betting second? Here?

Speaker 6 (01:40:30):
I just to be real blunt, I guess I may
have to go with the Broncos. The Broncos are two
to one, Chargers plus one ninety Chiefs plus one eighty. Yeah,
maybe I would go with the Broncos this year, but
I'm not. I don't like betting into a one way market,
per se when you can only bet one thing, not
like yes and no, as you guys know, but I

(01:40:53):
tell you this AFC West Division winner Chiefs minus one and.

Speaker 5 (01:40:57):
A quarter point. Look just looking at it, Yeah, it
just looks it.

Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
Looks like you know, it looks like a misprint.

Speaker 6 (01:41:03):
But again, it's not really the type of bet that
I love it. It seems like Denver the Chargers, or
maybe they are also the playoff caliber machine you know teams.

Speaker 5 (01:41:13):
So listen, I didn't lay the one in a quarter.

Speaker 6 (01:41:17):
So it's just the Chiefs team's kind of kind of
a team that's been making playoff runs and winning Super
Bowls that maybe they aren't too motivated to win the division.
I don't know, as long as they make the playoffs.
You know, if they're in a situation the last week
or two of the season where they're already locked into
the playoffs and want the rest to rest the players,

(01:41:38):
will they be motivated to win the division? Yeah, I
guess they would. But it's just an interesting situation here.

Speaker 3 (01:41:44):
Do you know, Jeff, I'm looking it up.

Speaker 2 (01:41:46):
But the AFC West streak that the Chiefs are on,
I know they've owned the Chargers and I'm trying to
it was something insane where they're like eighteen and one
or something.

Speaker 4 (01:42:01):
I thought, and then lost and they lost the Raiders
on like Christmas.

Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
It might have been both, because I think it applies
to the Chargers. Also something ridiculous where they're there's they're
winning trigger against the Chargers.

Speaker 4 (01:42:14):
I mean, they dominated everyone that's one the division nine
years in a row, and I just think the Chiefs
are going to be very motivated to be good this year.

Speaker 5 (01:42:21):
I do too.

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
In that first half against the Eagles in the Super Bowl, Like, no,
I don't know, man, I think this is the revenge
to her.

Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
I don't think that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
They're you know what we lost to the Chargers. Shoulder shrug.
You know, as long as we're good for the playoffs.
That's just not them, No, not how they roll.

Speaker 4 (01:42:42):
And everyone seems to be counting them out, which I'm
sure they uses motivation. So I don't get why people
are at this point now where they're out in Kansas City.
I mean, I know, I know, you want to pick
someone else every year, you want to pick someone different
to win the championship. I get it. But the Chiefs
feel like, again this price, you never get them cheaper,
you just you you won't. It feels like a good

(01:43:04):
spot to just to buy on the to buy low
on the Chiefs, which again you never get a minus one.
They're always extremely the price is always extremely high. And
what's funny about that, Like Buffalo has the highest one,
it's like minus two fifty. I kind of like Buffalo
at that price. Yet, you just how are they losing
the division? Unless unless Alan gets hurt. It's only way.

Speaker 2 (01:43:28):
Yeah, it seems like the only legitimate way. I think
the Patriots going to be pretty good this year. Really, yeah,
I might disagree. I don't think they're going to be
good enough to win the division. You know, the Bills
might mess around win twelve ish games. You know, the
Dolphins are sniffing to they might not have half twelve wins.

Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
Seriously, Like when you.

Speaker 4 (01:43:50):
Far as a Dolphins fan, you'd be looking for a
new coach after the season, cause I think I think
that's where it's headed.

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
That's where it's headed for sure. Like Mike McDaniel, I'm
not saying he's bad, he just doesn't. Just for as
smart as he is, he's like, here's our game plan,
but it's not working. Well, Shoot, this is gonna be
a long afternoon.

Speaker 3 (01:44:07):
I guess it's.

Speaker 4 (01:44:10):
How it feels, right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:44:11):
It's totally how it feels. Insane, you know what feels.

Speaker 6 (01:44:15):
It's in choice just to let you know over there,
you're right, Brian brought Patriots are getting some love. Yeah,
by MGM plus five to one to win the AFC East.

Speaker 2 (01:44:24):
You know who else is getting some love crack all right?
That'd be our guy, Isaac Lowenkron. His eyes are way
better than five to one to deliver some heart hitting
information in this update.

Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (01:44:34):
I low.

Speaker 9 (01:44:36):
Why?

Speaker 5 (01:44:37):
Thank you?

Speaker 10 (01:44:37):
Some hard hitting and lucrative information. Because the guy who's
getting a lot of fifty two point six million dollars
worth of it Lebron James, because he is indeed opting
in to his fifty two point six million dollar player
option with the Los Angeles Lakers for next season. According
to his agent, Rich Paul, who told ESPN quote, Lebron

(01:45:00):
knows the Lakers are building for the future, but he
values a realistic chance of winning it all. We understand
the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future,
and guys, is really interesting. Speaking of Rich Paul, a
video is beginning to trend from a documentary about NBA
draftees from the Clutch Sports agency. It shows a conversation

(01:45:24):
between Paul and a Phoenix Sun's executive believed to be
owner Matt Ishbia, discussing trying to orchestrate Duke's come on
Mala watch falling to the Suns with the tenth pick
in the draft, which is exactly what wound up happening.

Speaker 9 (01:45:41):
Listen to this.

Speaker 14 (01:45:42):
If you guys keep ten, I'm gonna mention the name
and you tell me how much you like him. Come on,
Malawak if I can get.

Speaker 4 (01:45:49):
Him there, glot my first choice.

Speaker 14 (01:45:53):
Okay, done deal, that's all I need me. I'm I'm
gonna try my best because that's our because you are
for choice. If he gets past Brooklyn, then yeah, but
let me make this call so I can let you
do what.

Speaker 5 (01:46:06):
You need to.

Speaker 4 (01:46:06):
G Oh, yeah, you can come back. You can do here,
I will okay, I'm.

Speaker 10 (01:46:10):
Craft interesting window and how the sausage is made, Guys,
back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:46:17):
We need yeah, we needed that for draft bets right there,
valuebore information right and it's Fox Sports Radio's Countdown, presented
by bet MGM.

Speaker 3 (01:46:27):
Guys, let me give.

Speaker 2 (01:46:27):
You a draft opinion if you will. Okay, So we
just had a couple of drafts here. We had the
NBA Draft this past week, NFL draft you know a
little while ago. But I couldn't help but think of
Shadeur Sanders while watching the Ace Bailey fiasco play out.

(01:46:50):
Like imagine if Schaedeure, who took some heat in the
pre draft meetings and the whole process.

Speaker 3 (01:46:57):
He took some heat.

Speaker 2 (01:46:58):
There was some negative men's from personnel evaluators, YadA, YadA.
But imagine if he did like each step he took,
each step that Ace Bailey took, Jeff Crack, do you
real like the critics for Shadur were out way more
than Ace Bailey. Imagine if Shador pulled an Ace where

(01:47:21):
Ace Bailey did not hold any private workouts for any teams,
he was the only US player not to work out
privately for anybody, and then he gets drafted by the Jazz.
He did want to go there. Clearly he's not taking
part in any of the festivities in Utah. Doesn't fly there,
you know, totally dragging his heels. Like imagine if that Shadeur,

(01:47:44):
it would be who does this? Entitled spoiled Brad thinking, Yeah,
the critics, their heads would still be spinning around if
Shador did what Ace Bailey just did.

Speaker 4 (01:47:56):
Well, it's it's funny you mentioned because there was even talking.
I'm sure we talked to uh of you know, Sanders
forcing his way to a certain team, and we were like, no, nope,
can't do that. No, yeah, no, no, no, no, that's
a that's a bad look. Or you or Dione telling
teams like they don't want, you know, we don't want
you to to draft my son. It's funny how again,

(01:48:18):
like that that was looked at, frowned upon, just the
mere thought of that. And and obviously now with Ace Bailey,
I mean that's basically what he tried to do.

Speaker 3 (01:48:29):
Yeah, absolutely he did.

Speaker 6 (01:48:30):
And yeah, yeah, you know, I was really shocked how much.
Even even now I'm reading things about you do you
know he didn't get pulled over for speeding or something
last week twice?

Speaker 5 (01:48:43):
Yeah, yeah, it was so this has been twice since
he was drafted.

Speaker 4 (01:48:48):
That's that's the issue that it happened, really happened twice.

Speaker 6 (01:48:51):
Yeah, so they really have a microscope on this kid.
And I guess you're right. It just uh, it would
have been a different situation of someone like Kim. I
just I don't like that though, and I actually don't
like that. Let's let's see the let's see these guys
what they can do in the in camps and and
let them prove themselves on the field a little bit

(01:49:12):
more before we're so tough on them God.

Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
And to be fair, Ace Bailey has taken some heat,
some criticism for his whole approach to the draft and
the aftermath. Yeah well yeah it's it's both, but it's
not schaduur heat like the.

Speaker 3 (01:49:29):
Way more.

Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
I want to get your thoughts real fast here. Ktel
Marte Okay, diamondback second baseman. It's been quite the week
for Katel Okay. So Saturday night, last night he hit
a home run, had four RBIs great evening. Friday night,
the night prior got a standing ovation from the Arizona
home fans. Right, and that's because on Tuesday night you

(01:49:54):
go all the way back. He was brought to tears
when a fan at a White Sox game shout out
that he sent a message to ka tell Marte's late mother,
and so Katel's in the field, he's crying, he's sobbing.

Speaker 3 (01:50:08):
Because of this.

Speaker 2 (01:50:09):
I was just curious, especially you, Jeff, as a former
professional player, what do you think of Katel. He came
out and he said, hey, we all have hearts. We're
human beings. You know, you're talking about my mother who's
passed away. And he had the reaction that he had,
What do you make of first off the low life
fan and then Marte's initial reaction to that, what's what's

(01:50:32):
your what's your takeaway on that?

Speaker 4 (01:50:35):
So obviously, hackling athletes is part of being a fan,
and there's nothing wrong with that, and I think we
we accept that as players, and I think sometimes we
actually enjoy the hackling. It can be quite enjoyable during
a game, if you know, if if a fan is
good natured, I think that crosses the line against the
family members. Yeah, and things like that. I a buddy

(01:51:00):
of mine came with this idea, and I think it's
it's uh worth kind of exploring sometimes when we have
issues like this, you know, should should fans? Should players?
I should? I should say, be allowed to fight one
fan a year.

Speaker 3 (01:51:16):
That's the old Charles Barkley.

Speaker 4 (01:51:17):
Yeah, so once a year, So once a year. Crack, yeah, Marte.
So you save up his once a year card and
called and you get to that guy right there. It
bring bring him down, throw the gloves, just fight it
out like hockey fight. As soon as everyone gets tired
or swing stop. Yeah, someone's knocked out cold, you know,

(01:51:42):
you call the fight. So that feels like we could
get to it at one point I just.

Speaker 6 (01:51:49):
Don't remember these issues with fans grow. I went to
a lot of games when I was a kid. I
don't ever remember issues with you know, when I grew
up watching sports that there was some heckling at the
empires a lot more than more than likely. But it's
the fans get they're getting worse and worse. I mean
the players just do you have to get more more?

(01:52:11):
Did they get more thin skin? And I don't think so.
It's probably a combination of both. But these a lot
of the sports betters too, going after athletes for not.

Speaker 4 (01:52:20):
That's what it is. It's it's sports betting and fantasy.
And I also think because because we there's more eyeballs
to the sport now and there's more you see more
of athletes life because they're they're on social media, that

(01:52:41):
fans feel more attached to players and they think they
could say things to them where previously you just couldn't.
And yeah, it's it's it's frustrating. It certainly is.

Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
Yeah, it's with Kutel Marte, I think that Listen, I
don't want him to go through something like that again.

Speaker 3 (01:53:03):
Where and he let us know this.

Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
So his mom died in a car accident in the
Dominican Republic in twenty seventeen, and so he.

Speaker 3 (01:53:12):
Said, what made it even harder to deal with?

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
So he's playing the White Sox on the road on Tuesday,
and this fan shouts like, hey, you know I texted
your mother or you know I sent her a message,
and Cotel's weeping, you know, he's crying. And he said
what made it more painful for him was that the
Diamondbacks were playing in Chicago to face the Cubs when
she died back in twenty seventies.

Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
So they're back in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
And this this lowlife fan says what he says, and
he just he has a human reaction. So my thought is,
I don't want the next low life to be like, oh,
he's got a blueprint, like, oh, that's how I get
to ca tell Marte, you know, I don't want Katel
to go through this again. I'm not, you know, gonna

(01:53:58):
call him softer or faulting him. But if you, somehow,
some way can just play it off, at least the
next low lives don't have a playbook of how to
get to you.

Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
You know, that's that's certainly fair. That that that that
now they know but maybe the next time, you know,
he's just sort of ready for it. He might not
have been ready for that. He in the middle of
a bat if you saw it, and like a guy
says that to him, I'm actually what part of it was.
There's no one at White Sox games. Otherwise, I'm surprised
he even heard it. Yeah, because he was literally at
bad It was like he was in the dugout or

(01:54:30):
walking the dug out. He was, he was at the plate.
So I was surprised he heard it. But he clearly
affect them. And I think I think part of it too,
Like it's these words affect everyone differently, So me and
you might not think anything of it, it might not
bother us, but very clearly, yeah, it bothered him and

(01:54:52):
you and sometimes you just have to like honor that
that's the way it makes him feel.

Speaker 6 (01:54:57):
Yeah, so the line that shouldn't have been crossed in
my opinion, Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
Yeah, And well you're talking about crack. There's sometimes death threats.
A lot of times death threats.

Speaker 3 (01:55:06):
Imagine miss.

Speaker 2 (01:55:10):
Jared Duran, you know of the Red Sox. This is
earlier this season where it's part of a documentary where
he admitted that he tried to commit suicide. There are
fans heckling him about that. It's insane.

Speaker 3 (01:55:24):
That's why, you know, punch him.

Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
There you go, octagon, you know, boxing ring, what have you.
But that's why when there are these reports of hey,
did this fan say something crazy at this whatever game?
And sometimes people are like, no way, not at the
Indiana fever game. I'm like, it takes one correct insane

(01:55:48):
fan to say something crazy, and it's like, no chance, no,
how really, come on, it's everywhere unfortunately. All right, we've

(01:57:13):
posting our clips on social media. Might see the profile
you know, view of Jeff I think is more straightforward
for the videos, but maybe he can dig up some
profile stuff as well for the groupies out there. Top
of the Hour Mike Harmon, Dan Bayer in less than
eight minutes. A wait, holy cow, we are running late.

(01:57:35):
We got some picks to make. Let's do it.

Speaker 4 (01:57:40):
Rapid fire.

Speaker 2 (01:57:42):
All right, crack, we start with you. What's something you like?

Speaker 5 (01:57:45):
Okay, let's go.

Speaker 6 (01:57:46):
Let's give you guys a game for today and then
we're going to give you a future. So let's give
you the game today, First five inning, Houston Astros minus
one sixty at bet MGM, First five Houston Astros.

Speaker 4 (01:57:57):
All right, I mentioned already. I like the links in
the first half day against the Sun all re up
that one. Also, like, I mean, the Giants kind of
stink right now. If you want to put some money
on the White Sox today, I don't think it's a
bad wager. They are very very bad.

Speaker 2 (01:58:12):
Wow, Okay, I'm looking at Ray's Orioles give me over
nine and a half. And it's not just because they've
been scoring runs like crazy. We had a twenty two
to eight game in this series.

Speaker 3 (01:58:26):
Right TODJ. Bradley goes for the race today.

Speaker 2 (01:58:29):
He got knocked around earlier this month in a game
against the Orioles, gave up six earned runs in one
in a third.

Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
Plus, the Rays have seventeen wins in June.

Speaker 2 (01:58:39):
That's second most in MLB, so they should be able
to score some runs off of Doug Kramer, who's very
hot and cold. I like the over nine and a
half today, raise Orioles. We got Cracks play the day.
Let's do this.

Speaker 9 (01:58:53):
This is the best play of the day.

Speaker 3 (01:58:58):
All right, Crack, what do you have for us?

Speaker 6 (01:59:00):
I gave you guys earlier, maybe like in the last month,
I gave you Bengals not to make the playoffs. Taking
I think I took like a dollar fifty on that
or better on the know, let's go to season wins.
So Cincinnati Bengals season wins under nine and a half
bet MGM under nine and a half even bet MGM

(01:59:20):
the probably one of the only sites that I know
of that gives you options to go over under five
and a half, seven and a half, nine and a half,
eleven and a half, thirteen and a half.

Speaker 5 (01:59:29):
As a matter of fact, I think we did that.

Speaker 6 (01:59:30):
I think I did that last week on the total
of the football game or the basketball game, and then
we went option and then we took back.

Speaker 2 (01:59:37):
You did money game seven, you went under. I trust
that it was right.

Speaker 6 (01:59:41):
Yeah, So you could probably even wait for this I
know people don't don't want to tie their money up
the whole season. However, let's go under I'm gonna be
anti Bengals this year. It gives you a bet to
roof four every week, all.

Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
Right, I like it with Joe Burrow, right, that's right, crack.
You need these things called defense of linemen. Need to
sign a couple of these guys Bengals
