Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I had a big, big first hour. If you missed anything,
don't worry about it. The podcast will go up immediately
following and got a show and you'll be able to
listen to whatever it is that you may have missed
during the course of us being live right now. I
mentioned the fact that we want to talk about uh

(01:23):
Raheem Morrison and the issue that he had he took
took with something that happened with Michael Pennix Junior.

Speaker 7 (01:30):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
But you know what, we got to bring our guy
in before we jump into the topic. So when you
hear this, you know what time it is. You will
hear his voice following hearing this.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Now it's time to check in with Cuffs. In the
legend from some dude show podcast on up on Game Presents,
Cuffs is giving you his spicy takes.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
What's going down?

Speaker 6 (01:54):
The heat like.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Lecron and now here's Cuffs the legend.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
It's go time, all right? You know who it is?
Some dude show gets a lot of a lot of
attention from people looking at what he'd be dropping out there,
but he'd be dropping them dimes like like like Danny
Dimes and and in Indianapolis like Patrick Mahomes and in

(02:22):
Kansas City we got Custo legend CAUs, how you feeling, man,
how's it going? What's going on? Uh, don't don't jump
into the world of basketball just yet, because I am
going to hit you with an nfl uh conversation. But
how you feeling, man.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
I'm feeling good on this on this glorious charity lebar
Who how you doing? Who's you good?

Speaker 6 (02:42):
Yeah, man, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
We're gonna get into these Lakers and Unklahoma City, bro.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
These dudes look like a powerhouse.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh gosh, all right, look look, look, look, let's let's
let's let's get through this. Then I'm gonna play'll some
sound from Raheem Morris and what he had to say
about a situation on things that Michael Pennick Junior had
to say. We're gonna jump into that topic and then
we're gonna we're gonna start passing the ball and finger
rolling and taking shots from around the perimeter and.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
Stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
All right, so here's here's coach Raheen Morris. Here's what
you had to say. We'll talk about on the other side.
Like mentally, I like my fiance.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
She's always there for me, so I know whenever I
get home, it doesn't matter how I played, she's always
gonna be there for me. She's gonna have a smile
on her face and give me a hug and make
me feel feel good no matter what. But as far
as you know, as far as like physically the on
the field stuff. It's not nobody that I'll talk to,

(03:41):
like as far as another quarterback or anything like that.
You know, I do have people reach out to me.
I do have quarterback coaches go back at home that
that reach out to me as well, you know, tell me, hey,
like you need to clean this up, clean that up,
you know, and everything would be good. So those those
guys help me as far as that too, so I
can shot my bad.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
That was Michael Pennix Junior that that was speaking on
it and just basically having saying basically having nobody to
help him. Coach Raheem took exception to it. I mean,
did you guys have a problem with anything that he
said in that sound bite?

Speaker 5 (04:23):
It's just a bad look. I feel like, like, like,
how is the NFL quarterback? How does he feel he
doesn't have anybody to lean on? This sounds like a
like a high school quarterback, not an NFL quarterback, right, Like,
this doesn't sound like something that you see happen at
the NFL level.

Speaker 8 (04:38):
So the question I have is I didn't see I didn't.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Hear Raheem Marris's response was he calling this a bunch
of crap basically.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
Yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, like he's upset about it, like that's that's that's kind.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Of why would he say that?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Yeah, like throwing your like throwing your coach like way
under the bus. Right, It's like saying, we have no leadership,
we have nobody that's really being a mentor to me.

Speaker 8 (05:01):
So it sounds like Michael Pennick Jr.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
It sounds like he wants to be back in.

Speaker 8 (05:06):
College and not the NFL. That's what it sounds like
to me.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
It sounds like he wanted to be somewhere else other
than Atlanta.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Yeah, like, where's Kirk Cousins. Where's Kirk Cousins with the
with the veteran leadership on the sideline? Where's the mentorship
from Kurt? I mean he's stealing checks, by the way,
he's feeling a lot of money from the Falcons.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
I'm gonna say this. I'm gonna say this. I I'm
I know someone who was internal to the Atlanta Falcons
and and just the way, uh, the offensive coordinator handled
situations internally. Let's just say the person that Zach Robinson

(05:51):
had is could be you know, some need to knee
bone on bone friction with how he handles things with
his players.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
And that's so crazy, LeVar, because Zach Robinson is a
guy that played quarterback obviously at Oklahoma State, if I'm
not mistaken, had a cup of coffee in the league
and was in the building and learned under Sean McVay.
And Sean McVay is a players first guy. Sean McVay

(06:26):
is a we gonna do this together type of guy.
I just I just find it so hard to believe
that as long as Raheem Morris has been coaching football.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
You would think that he would be under or a
resource where everything gets smooth, and it wasn't and it's not.
And I think, and I'm hoping.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
I'm hoping because I like Rayhee Morris.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
They're underachieving right now, but they have a really really
young team Michael Pennock's first year as a starter, but
the Pinnicks really not understand.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
And the question because to say.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
You have nobody to go to Zach Robinson, former quarterback TJ.
Yates who's a receiver coach, former quarterback Kirk Cousins who
cuffs just spoke of ninety million guaranteed you basically a
coach that's making a ton of money to help him
get better. Who is a quarterback who's had great success

(07:23):
in the league. Uh Ken Zampazi who was a coach
of mine? No Ken Zampsy Ernie Son.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Yeah, I know that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
I was who was in Cincinnati with us. And when
I tell you he is going to go over everything,
I mean everything, He's going to bore you. You'd be like, bro,
why are we doing like I have a hard time
believing that because unless unless Kenny Zampas has changed, you

(07:59):
got some.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
To go to Pennis, you just not going to You're
just not going to him.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Because I know some of these people, and I know
they work ethic and I know how they work.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
I just find that hard to believe.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
You must not be comfortable going to certain guys, That's
what that's the key.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
And if if it's a lack of comfort and trust
and believe, then that's a real issue.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
That's that's the coaches problem. We got to make sure
all the players feel comfortable coming to me. That is
a coach problem. We we got to be more accessible.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Well.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
The reason why I brought up the OC is because
again I am aware of the type of exchanges that
he has had with with his players.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
See, that's crazy, and I don't know exact okay with it.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
I don't know that. I don't know him. I never
understood former players getting coaching to.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
The degree to the degree of asking the head coach
to be a part of the meetings because it gets
that that faratile between he and the coach.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
LeVar being a former player, right, yeah, would you not
approach and treat the players how you wanted to be
approached and treated when you were a player?

Speaker 6 (09:06):
Would you not?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
But that's us and I think that that's why we
in the time that we have coached have had such
great rapports and great results from the young people still
communicate with huh, absolutely cool. But but some of these
guys aren't like that. Some of these guys aren't like that,
and it's more of like the older, old school way

(09:28):
of doing things. I think it's dying out because it
does not work with the twenty twenty five athlete. I'm
sure it's like that in basketball too, cuffs, but it's
not it's not the same environment. It's not the same
type of people. They're not wired the same. It's handled differently.
But you have some guys that are still taking this

(09:49):
old school approach where they'll mother f you, call you
everything but your name, TJ. You know that exists. There's
a ton of coaches from our era of time that
talk to you bet like like really really like to
the utmost degree of disrespect.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Only to the players that they know not gonna say
or do nothing. And we know that I do know this.
I had one coach come out. I told this story
not too long ago.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
It's it's an old story, but I had a coach,
Dale Lindsey, I call him by name, and and you
know he was He had a potty mouth, disrespectful mouth
that that followed the same type of nasty mouths that
Greg Williams and his coaching stab Greg blosh All. I
call him out that filthy mouth coaches not not a

(10:35):
respectful way of approaching players. And after he was doing
it during the game, like I had gone through a
whole lot of different things, but like just keeping that,
keeping that out of it. Let's we're in the game
and he's calling down and all he's doing is saying
every every other word is a curse word. When I
pick up the phone, so I stopped taking his calls.

(10:57):
I'm not taking your calls if if all you're doing
is cursing when you get on the line, I know
what I need to do. I look at the pictures.
I know what what my adjustments need to be. I
don't need to talk to you. He comes in after
the game when I'm in my quiet space. After the game,
I had my little routine and I'm on the table
in the training room. He comes walking in the training
room and he gives me every other MF for you

(11:20):
this and you that, dadad this, that and the other,
if you don't die. So I get off of the
table and I walk up on him and I pointed
to him and I said, if you disrespect me one
more time, I am going to hurt you.

Speaker 6 (11:34):
Old man.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
It's those types of excess.

Speaker 6 (11:39):
What he say? Wait? Wait, what do he say?

Speaker 1 (11:41):
He walked away.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
Nothing.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
He walked away, and he never spoke to me ever again.
We never spoke ever again after that. So we had
literally like games. We made it to the playoffs that year.
He coached me. He coached me by talking to my
position player. So he would talk to Warrick Coleman when
he would be coaching off of my film. That's me
on the film. He's looking at and he's breaking it down.

(12:04):
He's addressing wark Holtman. During the entire meeting, he did
not speak to me one more time.

Speaker 6 (12:11):
He thought you were sweet.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
When he realized you was tired of it, he said,
all right, you trying to get knocked out.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
All right, I'm being respectful the whole entire season. You've
been disrespecting me as a man the entire season.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
I took it.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
This was the moment where I was like, I'm done
with it, and I'm gonna just let you know. This
is what it is. I've been respectful to you. You
have not been respectful to me. That's how it went down.
When you're in a when you're in an environment that
has that toxic feel to it, where it's super volatile
and could be considered adversarial, you're not going to have

(12:47):
success with the players that are in that locker room.
And then you start to hear some of them, maybe
Michael Pennix is speaking up on behalf of some of
these other guys that don't have the voice to say
what it is that. He said, we can't go to y'all.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
We come to y'all.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Y'all, y'all talk crazy to us out your mouth. You
talk crazy, like real crazy, like like what are you
doing right now? If we anywhere else, I'll put you
to sleep. This is a hostile environment you're talking about
that's being created. Of course, you're not going to trust
going to go talk to somebody about it, you know
what I mean? Like that to me is and maybe

(13:23):
because I have I have detailed insight to what it
is that that some of the interactions and exchanges that
were taking place in the building very intimate.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
Like Jack Robinson is that type of coach.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
He shouldn't be in a position that he's in being
an officer coordinator now and you have to communicate to
and with everyone and they don't feel comfortable talking to
you because of who you are as a person. You
should not be in a position that you're in in.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
And now, to me, that's the that's the bigger conversation.
To me, I think that's the bigger conversation. And we
I'm a I'm a Raheem Morris fan as well.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
Well.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
If Raheem, well, Raheem, if you don't know this, he
gonna know now because I'm telling him.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Well, if you can't address it, If you can't address that,
and I'm pretty certain he's aware of it, if you're
not gonna address that decisively, that could be one thing
that puts the nail in the coffin for you being
a head coach and having success with your team.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Yeah, you can't have your coaches ruining what you're doing
because ultimately it falls on you.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Yeah, that's what it sounds. That sounds about right anyway. Yeah,
it sounds as though Michael Pennock Junior is actually confirming
that the things that I heard, it isn't just that
one player in particular that is being targeted. It's other
guys that are hearing wild ass stuff come out of
this coach's mouth. Anyway, we got cuts to the legend

(14:47):
with us that we paid off the t's on talking
about the Pinnick situation. But this is our two. It
is round ball time. So now the Laker fans they
get to talk their Laker ball and stuff like that.
We're gonna take a quick break. But on the other
side of the break, Yeah, you guys should know, in fact,
watching basketball is good with Louisiana hot sauce too. Yeah,

(15:09):

put it on that food that you eat when you're
watching you know some basketball games. Make sure you get
the original Louisiana Hot sauce. That's Louisiana Hot. Make sure
you buy you something. All right, this is up on game.
It's Fox Sports Radio. We're gonna talk basketball with cuts

You know I'm gonna let you, you know, La Laker

ahead and talk about it, man, what what we got
going on? And we had a place in Charlotte. Hey,
you start wherever y'all want to go?

Speaker 5 (18:19):
You know, real quick, I want to say, can I
give a shout out for you go? I want to
give a big shout out of some dude. Shout out
first off to the ageless Wonder, the baby faced green
eye assassin.

Speaker 6 (18:33):
From Stolen that Boy.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
And a lot of people sometimes think I'm like a
hater of Steph Curry, but I am not. Like I've
been following Steph since he was at Davidson, Like I
saw him play in person at Davidson that same games
Lebron went to. I was at that game. I'm a
big Curry guy. But over the years he became the
off because he was going against my favorite player, Lebron James. Right,

(18:57):
but now sitting here at age thirty seven year seventeen,
we saw him last night against Wenbin Yama, and I
know everybody is labeling Winbin Yama the alien, but Steph
Curry is really an alien. Like look at the shots
he was making last night. There's only three players in
NBA his history that are older than thirty seven years
old to have back the back forty point games. In

(19:20):
those three names, Lebron James, Michael Jordan and Steph Curry.
Now he's an ageless wonder. Like the shot making ability.
We've never seen these type of circuit shots, like he
had a shot.

Speaker 8 (19:34):
Last night over Wenby.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
There's nobody else in the world that guys just playing
guard they can even get that shot off on Wenby.
And he made that shot over Wenby. He had he
had what like, he had ninety five points the last
two games against the Spurs, two wins. It's just rarefied
era right now where were watching from.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
Step The crazy part is it was basically back to
back game against the Spurs after he had been struggling.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
You know why he was trugout because he got rid
of those under armor loafers, those registered those registered nurse shoes.

Speaker 8 (20:10):
He finally got rid of even though he warm last night.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
But you know he's a he's a sneaker free agent.
Now that's a big deal.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Hey, what what what do you make of Lebron obviously
return h what that he left under armoor? You ain't
know that, LeVar, You ain't realize he left under armour.
Oh yeah, they just announced that a couple of days ago.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Man, that I did not I was right now years old.
I was right now years old when I heard that.
I mean, how y'all feel about that?

Speaker 6 (20:45):
Man?

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Like that's literally he's the man that made under armor
basketball shoes relevant, under armour basketball relevant. I'm that's news
to me. That was breaking just now and I do
a radio show, got Lee. Thank you, guys. I appreciate
y'all doing that.

Speaker 6 (21:00):
Yeah, man, that's a big deal. What I mean, what
do you do.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
At y'all weren't rocking under armour down there in North Carolina?

Speaker 6 (21:09):
Man, hey, le me man.

Speaker 5 (21:11):
That's how great Steph se is as a basketball player
because those are bowling.

Speaker 8 (21:16):
Shoes, right, and he conmits.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
Little kids and grown men to wear under armour for
the last well over ten years plus now, and no.

Speaker 8 (21:25):
Not to under armour.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
They make good gear apparel, but nobody's wearing under armors
with jeans.

Speaker 8 (21:31):
Like you can wear Nikes with jeans, you can wear
all these.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Different shoes Adidas, but you can't wear under armors outside
and like that. So now Curry is taking the Curry
brand and he's going independent, and I feel like he
has enough star power, you know, I don't think he
really had to latch with like a Nike or Yeah,
he can go independent if you really wants to and
get his shoes and Dick Sports and goods and foot

(21:55):
locker and so forth, and still and still like provide
that to the fans.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
But do you think do you think that going like
what Shaq did or what Maulberry did? But do you
think that the type of star power he has? I mean,
he could do a collaboration with Nike like what Jordan
did and it be the Steph Curry brand's shoe and

(22:19):
that that be the way he moves. I mean, do
y'all see that? Does he have enough like value in
that that market, in that space to do something like
what with Nike or somebody want to do that with him? Adidas?
Would somebody want to do that?

Speaker 5 (22:34):
I think he does because last night he wore Nikes
in the in the warm up. He had warm up
the Kobe's last night, but he didn't play in them.
And the reason he didn't play in the Nikes yet
is because like y'all got probably know this, like the basketball,
the shoes that they wear, like the shoes that the
players like wear on the court, they have a custom
mold in that shoe. So it's not it's not the

(22:55):
same shoe that we as fans get from the mall.
You know, they have that custom molde So I think
he gets that custom mold in those Kobe We're gonna
see him trying out different shoes and it's gonna be
a bitting war to get stuff because like outside of
bron who moves the needle in the NBA as far
as like the kids and selling jerseys and sneakers. So
it's gonna be an interest in uh job bidding war

(23:17):
between Steph Curry and uh right and different sneakers.

Speaker 6 (23:22):
Yeah, John ort Man he he he.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
The kids for sure wears his shoes all the AU games.

Speaker 6 (23:28):
That's all you You see.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Jahs and Kobe's at every AAU game, at least out
here in California.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
That's all you see. Man.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
I saw the job Moran sneakers.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
The time he moves needle a little bit too.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
Who is that?

Speaker 6 (23:45):
No, the kids ain't wearing Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
That was the duke shoe.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
That was the duke shoe, dude.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
They every all these kids are wearing the Jamarants and
the Kobe's when you walk into these gyms, that's what
they wearing.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
Hey, A TJ.

Speaker 8 (23:58):
You know who else might be getting the signature SHO
if his team keep.

Speaker 5 (24:01):
Winning like they're winning right now, is K Cunningham, Like
the Cisions are in first place and nobody's talking about.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
The Pits forty five shot K cutting Ham.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
It'll be the Clips. K Cunningham, the piss that won
nine straight. By the way, if you're not paying the
Kitchens to the Pistons right now, real basketball fans.

Speaker 4 (24:26):
Are they Are they the most surprising team to you
at the early start of the season.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
I think they have to be because they were like
fourth or fifty last year. But it's the way they're
doing it. Like last night, they won that game without K.
Cunning Ham, like they don't. The only starter they had
last night was Duncan Robinson. Like out out of all
the guys they were missing Jalen during last night, they
had a guy Dannis Jenkins, who's had like he's averaging

(24:54):
twenty points and seven rebounds and five ascents the last
three games. He was undrafted. Like this, they got an
undrafted kid at their leading scorer right now. So hats
off to JB. Bickerstaff. He's doing a great job changing
that culture. So wait till they get Jaden Ivy back way.
Today's really far getting these pieces back. I mean, the
Eastern Conference is wide open right now because the Calves

(25:14):
are looking like frauds man. They dropping some games lately.
The Knicks are sitting at eight and four in second place,
and we gotta we got to give a shout out
to Jalen Johnson because he stepped in in the acts
of Trey Young with the Atlanta Hawks right now. He
went to work the other night career highs and points,
rebounds and assist. I mean, he might make Trey younget

(25:37):
spendable in Atlanta because I can see a situation where
I don't know if you saw the Spurs and Warriors
game last night, but the Aaron Fox, who I'm a
big fan of, by the way, but I don't think
he really messes well with the Spurs.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
So I think have too many guards though, cuff with Castle,
you draft Harper, it's too many of them.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
The key to the Spurs future right now is just
go ahead and let Dylan Harper take those keys at
point guard once he comes back healthy into the lineup.
But I feel like Daron Fox. They got him, they
acquired him as a trade tip and you might be
able to flip him to get Tray Young. Like, imagine
Trey Young running that point guard with Wenby in a
pick and rolls, Like, you don't have to worry about

(26:22):
Trey Young's defense defensive deficiencies as much because you have
Wendy behind him to protect the rim.

Speaker 8 (26:28):
You saw him the other night guard and.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
Steph Curry on the perimeter. He was guarding three different
Warrior players. He was switching off. I know y'all thought
that possession, like the block he had on Jimmy Butler
last night, Like Jimmy went into his body and tried
everything possible not to get his shot block, and he
just he just swiped it off the glass like he
was like he was cleaning like a bug off the windshield.
You know what I'm saying. It's like, it's like stuff

(26:51):
we've never seen. We've never seen some of the stuff
Wimby's done. So I'm in arrested to see how the
Western Conference shapes out. But we got tonight, We got
a big game tonight. We got Lakers and Bucks, DJ
and Milwaukee tonight.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Man, I'm I'm curious you could throw some original Louisiana
hot sauce on with it too, you know, you know
what I mean, Like and you could be curious with
some hot sauce on that because it's gonna balance it out,
you know what I mean. It's gonna make your food
taste good while you're being curious, just like you out
there as fans, you know what I mean. Put it
on your wings, your nachos, you're curious any of it.

(27:26):
That original Louisiana hot sauce is gonna hit. That's Louisiana
Hot making sure you bale something. Go ahead, TJ? What now?

Speaker 6 (27:33):
What was you curious about?

Speaker 4 (27:35):
How How was it gonna look when Lebron comes back?
Because I'm in the camp that it's just gonna make
us so much better. Anytime you can get a great player,
it just makes us better. We're playing really good basketball
right now, but we don't match up well against Oklahoma City.
They missing Jalen Williams lou Dirt and they blew us out.

(28:00):
How much when Lebron comes back does that help us?
Or does that even get us closer to being competitive
with him?

Speaker 5 (28:08):
I gotta keep it real with you, TJ. I watched
that game the other night and a certain guy on
the Lakers who I'm a fan of and you've been
seeing them cook against everybody else but the other against
against aj Mitchell, against Tayston Wallace as he was.

Speaker 6 (28:26):
On milk carton milk cart missing.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
Austin Austen Reeves, he just doesn't look quite the same.

Speaker 8 (28:36):
Against a team like Oka Sen.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
Who is the measuring stick in the West. Nobody else matters.
If you can't get past Okac, you can't, you can't
get to the finals. Right, And we saw Austin Reeves
struggle against Okac, and then last night against the Pelicans,
against Jeremiah Fears and Derrick Queen and all the young
guys with New Orleans, he has thirty one again, right,

(28:59):
so you see what I'm saying, Like, I need to
see Austin Reeves have those twenty five to thirty, those
thirty five point performances. I want to see him do
it against the OKAC defense. Because we look at SGA, right,
the thunder are like eleven. I think they're gonna win
sixty nine to seventy games this year, right, if they
really lock in, they're eleven and one this season. Esja

(29:21):
had sat out like what six or seven fourth quarters.
He's not even playing in the fourth quarter right now,
and they're dominating. So I just feel like OKC is
gonna win the championship this year and probably next year,
probably the year after that, because look at the spot
pile of draft picks Sam Princi has, Like you've seen
the draft picks they have coming up. They got a
couple pick swaps this year with a couple of teams

(29:44):
and struggling, so they're gonna have at least three first
rounds this year to go along with like twenty more
draft picks they already have in their stock pile. So
I think it's gonna get real dark for the league.
Because j Dubb their second best player, who was arguably
the finals MVP of Shayling, they got it. He hain't
even played.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
He hadn't played this year in the Western Conference. Who
is their toughest matchup? I like two teams, and I
felt both of these teams can beat them. The Houston
Rockets can beat them, and the Denver Nuggets can beat them.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
I like Denver. I like Denver a lot, but we're
gonna have to see Cam Johnson step up. He's still
getting ingratiated with the team right now. He hasn't really
been that same Cam Johnson. We saw Phoenix and Brooklyn.
You know, Michael Porter Junior is letting it fly in Brooklyn.
So a lot of the pressure is on Cam Newton
from the Nuggets fan base, like where is it that
we need to see that production? But I like the

(30:33):
Nuggets balance, and they have Jokiics. We saw him the
other night put up like fifty four right like he's
putting up like I said the other time, social Security numbers,
like his stats look like social Security numbers at this point.
So Yolkic is gonna be in the MVP conversation with
SGA and Luca. But I think when the.

Speaker 8 (30:51):
Smoke players TJ and LaVar.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
The Western Conference Finals, you can go ahead a pencil
to thunder end. It's gonna come down to the Nuggets
and those Rockets, like you said, because Houston has the
number one offense in the league now thanks to Kevin Durant,
they have the number one offense. We already know they
can play defense. They started out oh to.

Speaker 8 (31:11):
Two, now they sit here, you know, eight to one
right now.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
So the Rocket should be happy. Like try Easton is
back in the mixed reeve Shepherd is playing at a
high level. Now, there was a lot of questions around
Reeve Shepherd in his second year. We know Am and
Thompson's gonna gonna show up every night and be the
utility guy for the Rockets. I mean, sim Goon is
an All Star, So I think we might see that matchup.
It's gonna come down to Nuggets and Rockets in the

(31:36):
in the Western Conference Finals versus those thunder djar the
whole the presses.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
So you're not mentioning the Lakers or the Mavericks. I mean, y'all, haven't.

Speaker 6 (31:49):
You say so?

Speaker 3 (31:50):
I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I did. I did,
you know, because Luca Mavericks. You know, that was just
me working in the Nico firing. Now that that was
really that was just really what I did. Just then
I'd be but you wanted up names going to the
finals for the Western Conference Finals. So I mean, Luca
didn't make the Lakers good enough to be in that conversation.

(32:12):
And Nico Harrison no, definitely lost his job because well,
Luca does look good enough. He just I mean, he
just ain't doing it for the Mavericks.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
Y'all remember last week? You remember last week when I
said that maybe Nico Harrison was estape gold in Dallas.
I said that, right, we me and TJ both kind
of agree like maybe somebody higher up, which I still believe.
But there have been reports that came out this like
the last two or three days about Nico Harrison rushing
Anthony Davids back. Remember you first got traded from the Lakers,

(32:44):
and all the pressure was, like get Anthony Davis from
the court. The fans want to see a d There
are reports that Nico went behind the medical staff and
rushed Ad back, which led to his you know, injuring
himself even more now. And that's when I had to realize,
like this guy really might be a themrod man, Like
he really might be. He really might be deserving of

(33:04):
this firings. But Anthony Davis, I'm here Ramlan is that
he might want to reunion with his hometown Chicago Bulls.
I think that'll be a good fit for Ad Josh Giddy.
They got Massus Bezillis over there, like they got a
good young core, but there probably had the part ways
with Kobe White and Vushevic and a couple first round picks.

(33:25):
But I think it's time to blow it up in
Dallas because you got to get rid of that whole
Nico Harrison regime pretty much. So I've said this already,
like I think Dallason have to blow it up, man,
because it's over. So we could see Kyrie on the move,
we might.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
Cuffs cuffs If I'm the Chicago Bulls, ain't no way
in hell would I give up Kobe White?

Speaker 6 (33:47):
Yeah? Would I give up Vucevic? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (33:49):
If you asking for a first round pick, you lost
your mind. There's no way in hell I'm giving up
a first round pick for Ad. No more, there's no
he's too he's too hurt. He's hurt every season. There's
absolutely no way did I give up future assets for
Anthony Davis that that ship is selled.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
You don't trust the availability of Anthony Davis more than
the tax exactly.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
If you look at certain reports, they said Ad they
felt like wasn't even working out in the summer and
so he was getting in shape during the season. They
couldn't deal with it. That was like, okay, we got it.
You complaining you don't want to be the big so
we need a center. That's if you ain't working on
offseason and were paying you millions of dollars. Man, I

(34:36):
can't have you on my team and let alone give
up picks to get you.

Speaker 6 (34:40):
No way.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Hey, we got up on game down on game coming
up next segment, so save all that energy for me
whooping y'all on on some some picks for the week.
But let's get Isaac Glowing Krawn right now to round
out the top of this amazing segment of basketball talk.
What you got, Isaac Glowing kral As.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Great, LeVar?

Speaker 2 (35:00):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (35:01):
Cups?

Speaker 8 (35:02):
Is loo?

Speaker 5 (35:03):
My god, Hey, I was waiting for you today. I
got to ask to once again.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
I'll ask the quarter weeks around here.

Speaker 9 (35:13):
You know, I gotta be honest. I'm not much of
a griller.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Yeah, he grills him up when he's given given out
that knowledge.

Speaker 9 (35:23):
That's that's right. Hey, I had a trademark that LeVar,
Thank you LeVar to the.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
Rest of grill. And when I give out that knowledge,
that's right, that glowing chrome.

Speaker 9 (35:34):
Now, speaking of grilling, you guys know the timing is
everything in life.

Speaker 6 (35:37):
Right.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
Well.

Speaker 9 (35:37):
Earlier today, Yahoo Sports reported the Texas A and M
is finalizing a new six year contract with head coach
Mike Elko worth over eleven million dollars a year that
being third ranked Texas A and M with a nine
to zero record. Well, as we speak at Kyle Field
in College Station, we have six two seconds left in

(36:00):
the first half and the score is South Carolina twenty
seven Texas A and M three. One of the biggest
shockers in recent memory in college football. Unfolding right now,
Leonora sellers a fifty yard touchdown pass to Andrevus Jacobs,
and then a defensive touchdown by South Carolina.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
Looking out of the gun, breaks his tight end in
motion over the right side, snapping back. Carolina's there with
Dylan Stewart. The balls on the ground is kicked up
by the Gaycocks at the ten, at the five and into.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
The back gum end zone hot South Carolina.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 9 (36:37):
And then after that, Texas A and M has a
chance to get back in the game. They have a
goal to go, couldn't get in and then missed a
field goal. Their next possession, they had another goal to
go first and goal at the Carolina ten, pass intercepted
in the end zone. On the very next play, Leonora
sellers through an eighty yard touchdown pass to Nick Harbor.

(36:58):
South Carolina then intercepted and other Texas A and M
passed and just kicked a field goal, so with two
seconds left in the first half, the score is South
Carolina thirty, number three Texas A and M three and
again this game at Texas A and M. Number two
Indiana has just taken a seventeen to seven lead over
Wisconsin five minutes into the third quarter. Ninth length Notre

(37:22):
Dame up twenty one to three at number twenty two
Pittsburgh with eighteen seconds left in the second quarter. And
at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Michigan lining up for a
field goal with two seconds left to play in the
first half, the eighteenth ranked Wolverines leading Northwestern.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
Seven to six.

Speaker 9 (37:41):
This long field goal at the end of the first
half is going to be just wide to the right,
so they go into halftime with Michigan holding a seven
to six lead over Northwestern. Finally, in the NBA, the
New Orleans Pelicans today fired fifty year head coach Willie
Green after a two and ten start, just like someone
predicted yesterday. Isn't that right, Cuffs, some.

Speaker 5 (38:05):
Dude already told you. I already told them. Dang, they
called me, they called me, cuff your dominance?

Speaker 1 (38:11):
That what they call me I low breaking news.

Speaker 9 (38:15):
That's that's very very fitting. And by the way, if
you have time, if you have time later, make sure
you discussed the uh funny woman City Power rankings with
the guys.

Speaker 5 (38:25):
I thought that was creative.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Cuffs good job.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Uh uh well, amazing plugs. That's Cuffs the legend and
that was Iload the legend. By the way, and this

Speaker 6 (40:14):

Speaker 3 (40:15):
But before we get up out of here, let's do it.
Let me whoop on y'all.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
Not for some picks. Are you up on game? Let's
crack this up. Let's crack it up down on game?

Speaker 6 (40:28):
All right?

Speaker 3 (40:29):
Bo Nah, I know I was out last week, But
did I dominate them going into that week?

Speaker 6 (40:33):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (40:33):
Or no?

Speaker 3 (40:35):
Not going out that week?

Speaker 10 (40:36):
That's fine.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Last Okay, let's not live in the past. Let's let's
stay let's stay in the future.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Yeah, real quick.

Speaker 10 (40:41):
For the last week, everybody went three and three, so
perfectly mediocre, just like Jalen Hurts on the fieldol tackles offense.
All right, this week, we are going to start with
number eleven Oklahoma taking on number four Alabama. Bama a
six and a half point favorite, and the total is
currently set at forty five and a half.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
I'm taking the under and I'm taking I'm taking Bama
the cover.

Speaker 5 (41:06):
I'm taking the over, picking the over, I'm gonna take
roll cod man, I'm gonna truck right now, you heard?

Speaker 4 (41:14):
Yeah, Yeah, I like Bama for sure, and I'm taking
the over too.

Speaker 6 (41:18):
And all right there, all right.

Speaker 10 (41:20):
Next up Washington taking on Miami. I think in Madrid,
Miami a two and a half point favorite. The total
is forty seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Say that again, is what what?

Speaker 10 (41:29):
The Miami Dolphins two and a half in this game?
The total forty seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
Right now, I'm taking the under and I'm gonna take
the points. I'm gonna lay the points on this one.

Speaker 5 (41:46):
I'm gonna take the under and I'm gonna take Thua
and the Dolphins. Man get to win.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
Yes, I like the Miami Dolphins. Also, Jaydean Daniel's not playing.
Terry McLaurin is still loud. The Commanders look like they've
given up this season, and so I'm gonna also.

Speaker 6 (42:04):
Take the under. So me and cuz we locking step
right now.

Speaker 10 (42:07):
Four and oh all right, last one real quick. Here
the Seahawks in La. The Rams a three and a
half point favorite, the total forty eight and a half.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Rams cover. Take the over, Dude, the Rams don't cover.

Speaker 5 (42:20):
Even though I think everybody's speaking on the Seahawks will
the Doer Bowl. I'm gonna take the under.

Speaker 4 (42:25):
This is a tricky game, man, because the Seahawks might
be the best team in the league. The Rams were
picked to win the division. Not many teams expected much
out of the Seahawks. So I'm gonna take the Seahawks
to cover, but lose the game, and I will take
the under on the points.

Speaker 3 (42:40):
The Rams might be the best team in the NFC too,
By the way, let's see what happens. I hope you
guys enjoyed the show. This is up on Game. As
I mentioned, Jonas Knox will be coming on next with

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
