Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Greetings, Welcome in. It's
Fox Football Sunday, and as you heard the update from
Isaac Lowen Cron again not your normal Sunday of NFL action.
We'll get into all the particulars as we roll on
two hours of auditory goodness. Mike Armen alongside the all
American LaVar Arrington happy to be with you here. Week five,

(00:24):
second quarter begins. We had a game on Thursday night.
We'll get you in the morning, but first the Hey,
how's the week. Obviously we had some heavy stuff you
and I talking about some you know, parenting things off air,
but otherwise the week that speak for yourself and and
everything NFS one rolling through. Yeah things, Well, this week

(00:44):
it was a good week, strong week. Little drama. Always
gotta have some drama. Little drama played out, you know. Yeah,
every every movie script have to have a little bit
of conflict in there, and you know, a problem that
that needs a solution. So it's one of those after
school home specials. Other than that, it's been good. Well,

(01:07):
well we'll write the after school special. I'm trying to
go through the mental rollodex. I don't remember that one.
We could find some ex Disney players to jump on board.
I'm sure we had some digital play action for my daughter,
which is pretty cool. Theater production went online. You had
to buy tickets like it was an online you know
as an online streaming service working through it. Uh, and

(01:28):
they've done most of it digitally. I thought it came
together quite nicely, so, you know, and including a bunch
of the great hits of the eighties. It was a
Jane Austin slash clueless mash up called Emma, which was
kind of fun. Yeah, it was cool. No, that's it.
All I had to do is click like three buttons.

(01:49):
I didn't have to go anywhere. It was a beautiful thing.
But the business is sports business. On Sundays, of course,
the National Football League we had a crazy day. Uh.
In college football, more upsets and if you're betting the
over with regularity, you are cashing tickets just like in
the NFL as we've seen. But Thursday night we had
an affair between the Bears and the Bucks that actually

(02:09):
came on the under one of the rarities. Uh. Khalil
Mack and the Bears defense. The best meme coming up, Yeah,
the best meme coming out of the game, though LaVar
was side by side when you had the well, the
eventual hip toss of of Worths, which is one of
the more ridiculous things you'll see on a football field.
But the look on Tom Brady's face and where where

(02:31):
Khalil Mack is? And then they added the Bear and
Leo DiCaprio from the Revenant and said, look, they looked
just like each other. So that same terror in the
eyes of what the hell am I watching? Yeah, well
we'll find that one to bring that up. But overall,
I mean, obviously Brady forgetting that it was fourth down
is huge. At Keyshawn Vaughan, you could circle him kind

(02:52):
of like Lebron James just circled him on the Morris pass,
where it's like, all right, there's an open guy. Likewise,
Brady missed the down which would have been just a
foot race between ro Kuwan smith Uh and Vaughan for
the first down to extend that drive. But all in all,
Buccaneers aren't playing with a full deck is something I think, folks.

(03:13):
There's still some injuries they're dealing with, and and and
this this Bears team isn't a bad team, I think
because of the quarterback drama. We find ourselves having conversations
about if this Bears team is good, if they're for real.
I just always tend to say sometimes records can be
a tad bit sneaky. Um. A team may not be

(03:36):
as good as essentially as as much as their record
may make hint that they are, but it's still their record.
So the old bill parcelves you you are who your
records are, who your record says you are, and so
for what it's worth, you gotta give respect and you
gotta give props due to this Chicago Bears team and

(03:59):
the decision that But may you know, I was wondering,
you know, what would come about with the whole Traubinsky
uh Folds deal. And I don't know that people think
that it's a bad decision when you're able to come
away with a victory like that, because the first thing
you want to sit there and think to yourself is

(04:20):
we have one If Rabinsky was in there, well the answers,
I mean, it's just a big question mark because Foals
for much of that game was terrible, right, And there
was one play in particular, the not quite a pick play,
the throw to Montgomery that he just dropped into that
was the NFL and NFL Quarterback Skills contest. Right here,
throw to this spot and get it into a barrel

(04:42):
or whatever it is, and Montgomery picks up a huge
first down. Uh, And Allen Robinson was very good not
to make contact to get called for the pick right
and he called that and he audible to that at
the line. So, I mean that's been chronicled quite a bit.
So that's the one throw that you say, I don't
know that Mitchell makes that. Now, there were a couple
of other players that Folds his immobile that Mitchell probably

(05:04):
would have tucked and been able to run for the
first down. But after the first half of it, I
joked online, it's like, all right, is it time to
put Mitchell in? Isn't this what we do with the Bears?
But I think that that's where to me, it's like
for Mitch Jerbinsky to be on the sideline right now.

(05:24):
It says to me, man, what if if Folds played
bad and they were still able to win, what happens
if if he gets in there, If Rabinsky gets in
there and he doesn't play well, what happens. Yeah, it's
his worst, it's his worst going to be worse than

(05:45):
Folds is. And then you lose the game, and then
you have to have the conversation, do we play Folds? Yeah,
because you had a couple of miss throws in the
first half, were like, all right, Mitchell would have been
right there. All right, well, we'll we'll put a pen
in the Thursday come says she'll. We'll, we'll tie a
bow on that. In a moment for first, Isaac Lowan
crawled with some breaking news, breaking news from Fox Sports.

(06:13):
Adam Schefter has just reported that Tomorrow's Broncos Patriots game
is now being moved to next Sunday, when the Broncos
were supposed to play the Miami Dolphins. That game will
now also be rescheduled back to you. Wow, alright, because
the Patriots had a Week six bye, so you slide
it there again. We're playing Jenga, alright, so Thursday Night

(06:35):
football stipulate. Both teams have ways to go. Both are
really good defense because they came in as top ten defenses.
I think the Buccaneers for us, that you know, really
are nerds about this stuff. And obviously you having played
in the league watching the dynamic linebackers that they have
in white and David, you're not surprised. I think rest

(06:55):
of America kind of looked around and said, wait a minute,
this defense is pretty strong they and the Bears. When
Mac is getting some pressure, it can roll up pretty fast.
All right, So we're still playing Jana here, LaVar the
story of the morning. In addition to this game now
being shifted, I was really looking for some early afternoon
football tomorrow. Uh. You had another positive test for the Patriots,

(07:20):
uh staff member, right, and then you have the Titans,
another coach testing positives. So the Titans continue to add one,
add another. We'll get to bills Titans because as of
now game goes on for Tuesday night. But we keep pushing,
kicking the can down the line. Right as as you

(07:40):
and I have talked about for weeks, not having built
in some cushion, and that doesn't mean you couldn't do
it all in the back end. But what if you
have a team like the Titans where potentially it's multiple
games to be made up. This isn't Baseball with the
seven inning doubleheaders. This isn't that easy to shovel around. Eventually,
your movie now you're moving Miami out of a date
you know, down the line and competition fairness. We've had

(08:05):
a number of teams pop off. Yesterday you had Jason
mccordy of the Patriots just questioning, all right, are we
really talking about safety? And again you back it all out,
and it's a conversation you and I have had since
you and I have been sitting here is football is
not safe. Okay, so you put that out there. Obviously,
COVID is a different animal. Anything else communicable that guys

(08:28):
may get themselves into, and we've talked about that a lot,
and everybody's got their their lives, there's there's other things
going on, but football at its core is not safe.
So guys have already made a choice to engage in
something that we've learned even more so that that there's
potential long term ramifications. But the more you keep playing

(08:49):
piecemeal shifts, eventually this is gonna blow up in their face,
or it would appear that you're at least leaving the
door open for that possibility. I've had this conversation several
times during the course of the week, and while knowing
that football is innately a dangerous game, you still are

(09:09):
looking at a different scenario of safety and awareness which
is based around an illness, you know, so a virus.
So I do understand where mccordy is coming from and
and his sentiments. My I just think that there's so
much uncertainty connected to everything that's going on right now.

(09:35):
So now the question becomes, can can we make it
through this season? Can can this can this work out?
Or will we be you know, out of a job
because for for what it's worth, the knowledge of of
how these contracts work and how the COVID provision in

(09:58):
in the agreement coming into the season that the p
A agreed to was if you forfeit a game, you
don't get you don't get game checks, you know, and
and understanding that you're not going to get game checks.
Now you're sitting here thinking to yourself, like, man, it's
okay these two organizations, and it could lead to missed

(10:20):
games forfeited games. Well, if other teams start testing positive
for COVID and and forfeiting games becomes a something that
is a necessity for of sorts. You're talking about jeopardizing
people's you know, their their livelihood. So there's gotta be

(10:42):
a ton of concern and a and a a ton
of just you know, uneasy feelings around the National Football
League right now because you know, for what it's worth,
everybody thinks that NFL players are these super super rich people.
Everybody's wealthy and they're not, you know, small percentage break

(11:03):
down your salary. Even some of those super high paid millionaires,
they can't afford to miss a game check for what
it's worth. And somebody might be sitting out there like,
yeah they can, No, they can't. Nobody knows anybody's debt. Yeah,
you know, their expenditure of keeping what some of these

(11:23):
guys term investments versus short term cash holdings are. You
would be shocked and surprise how many guys that are
pros in any sport our check to check. Yeah, it's
it's an interesting it's a bigger it becomes a much
bigger conference. Start adding that up game check for for
each team and and go back to Week four and

(11:44):
the Titans, like they've been very vocal about, wait until
information comes out. At some point, everybody wants to know
exactly how things started, right. Everybody wants, whether it's to
put blame or just really have a better idea of
what went on. Because if are the Steelers, you want
to know, right, you practiced the whole week going into
week four, Right, you didn't get your your paws right.

(12:06):
Everybody's like they got a bye week. No they didn't.
They still went through their work right, and they didn't.
They didn't get to sit on their butts and just
hang out and watch like it was a normal bye week.
Nothing you can get away this year like you would
perhaps in years passed, as many Aaron Rodgers among them,
have talked about, Look, a bye week is not going
to be your normal by but yeah, you're you're affecting

(12:28):
a lot of a lot of people's lives. So there's
a call for transparency at that rate as well. So
we'll continue to watch that, We'll get into Bills Titans.
As of now, that game is still going to go.
We're coming to Alive from the getic Fox Sports Radio
Studios fifteen minutes. You can save or more on car insurance.
Visit Geico dot com get yourself a free rate quote. Obviously,

(12:50):
you move out those Monday fantasy players, right, we no
longer have Broncos Patriots, and from my money, I am
not banking on anything Bills tight. Look, uh, take some
solace in the fact that if you're a Derrick Henry owner.
This week he was playing the Bills and you probably
were hemming and hall and as the weather to benjam
I'm gonna tell you right now, you could put it

(13:11):
on me, put him on the bench if the game
gets played, so be it. Mike Carmen alongside LaVar Arrington.
Welcome in. Then we're just getting warmed up. It's Fox
Football Sunday here on Fox Sports Radio. You're listening to
Fox Sports Radio. Hey, welcome back in Fox Football Sunday. No, no, no,

(13:32):
that's just a lot of debates. We were bringing out
the white board with a lot of different segmentations there.
Good morning everyone, wake up, wipe sleep out your eyes,
get your coffee. I know you're ready for some football.
Just know this, whatever it is you're thinking about COVID
and sports, there is no easy answer. That's the best

(13:52):
answer that you can give yourself, nice and nice and simple.
Right there. Uh. Long ago. Uh and this became a
show mantra for a little bit as sports was trying
to come back. Uh, Jason Smith and I in the
evenings here Fox Sports Radio seven to eleven pm Pacific
Monday through Friday. Uh, you get what you get and
you don't get upset. We basically took the old pre

(14:13):
k and kindergarten mantra and applied it to sports, going
you have no idea week to week, right, And I
know we get a lot of blowback and still did
over the course of the week as these discussions are
going on and the shifting of the NFL schedule of well,
nobody's dying right in this age range, and everything's like, okay,
it's not that simple. It's trying to simplify it to

(14:36):
that when we talk about coaches and everything, and look
at the fines that are being levied for maskless coaches now,
the discussion of forfeitures, the discussion of penalties for coaches
approaching referees without a mask on right, berating them on
a call, but with the mask down, potentially you get
an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. We may see one of those

(14:59):
or one or more of those today across NFL sidelines.
So it's it's a moving target and there's a lot
of different aspects to it. And you know, it's funny
because all of these rules surrounding certain people on the field.
The players aren't wearing masks and they're the ones that
are having the most not the coaches, not the referees.

(15:21):
It's the players that's having the most contact and in
exchange of you know, body fluids, we should say. And
they're not wearing masks. So it's just kind of like
this weird dichotomy between you know, what's right and what's
wrong and what what what is sound like? What is

(15:44):
what is ethically acceptable right? And how much of it
is acceptable? Morality is over here you've got just pure
optics on the other right, because you've already taken tests
every day of the week to be cleared to be
on said sideline or to be able to participate in
the games. So there's a little bit of uh uh discontinuity,

(16:08):
are incong incongrnuity? Well, no, I'm mixing up words now.
But the idea is that you've got a disconnect happening
there in terms of what you're seeing, what you're being
told to continuity, Yeah, I think I don't think that exists. Yeah,
but maybe it should. Maybe we'll speak that into there's
been enough Misusual wasn't a word. No, I know, We're

(16:31):
regardless wasn't either, And now it gets accepted. It's not
correct to spell nonetheless as an entire words. How about that?
And that's one to grow on. Let's get into the
games about let's go all day alright, as of now,
we still have ourselves a football game scheduled for Tuesday night.

(16:53):
So let's break it down to its brass tacks as
it were, LaVar. We we look at the Bills and
the Titan's two great defenses. Uh, for the most part, right,
there's still just the the question marks of finishing it off.
Bill six takeaways tied for ninth. The Tennessee Titans as
of now, have only generated one turnover, that second fewest

(17:15):
in the National Football League. They've also only played three games.
But the offense of the Buffalo Bills, Josh Allen has
his superman in Stefond Digs and that's really changed things up.
Devin Singletary running the ball. Well, Titans with an awful
lot of time time off, they should be healthy and
ready to go. Yeah. Well, I don't see anyone if

(17:37):
this game takes place. I don't see the Bill slowing
down right now. I think I think Allen has playing
some some great, great football. Um okay, uh, I just
think that the Buffalo Bills are playing some good football.
They've had to battle some injuries, but as it stands

(18:00):
right now, they are playing some balanced football. UH. Quarterback
is playing at an m v P discussion level. I
just don't see Tennessee. Tennessee is one of those scrappy
teams that you don't know what you're really going to get.
They could win on any given Sunday, but I just
think that there's too many variables that they're dealing with
right now to say that their focus and preparation is

(18:22):
where it needs to be. So I think this is
an easy one to call. Definitely the Bills. We have
no spread on this game. It is currently off the
board with all the uncertainty. UH, so we pick it
straight up, both of us going with the Bills next
Eagles and Steelers. Eagles with a big win a last

(18:43):
week the improbable win. I don't know that anybody had
that one uh penciled up, given the fact that, well
you still got Carson Wentz running around with a bunch
of unknown options at the wide receiver position, Miles Sanders
in the backfield. Ah, the Steelers. Another team we talked
about them having prepped were the Titans for week four
that didn't game didn't go off. Now you got the
battle for Pennsylvania. Five takeaways thus far for the Steelers. Uh,

(19:07):
nineteen point three points allowed per game in the three
that's fifth best in the National Football League, whereas Philadelphia
nine giveaways that is first in the NFL. Steeler defense
Bud Dupree, Hayward and all the band of Merryman ready
to get after Carson Wentz and this one, you know,
the Steelers have an opportunity to start for an oh,

(19:31):
for the first times nine Bam. I was about to
look it up. You got it now you knew it.
I saw that stat. And how about that? How crazy
is that? I mean, for as good as that it's
been forty one years? Uh? Is it is unbelievable to
think that a team as good as the Steelers have

(19:52):
been for as long as they've been in the amount
of teams that will be covered within that amount of
time never started four. Uh, It's gonna happen today. Yeah,
I'm with you, all right, to spread either seven and
a half or eight and a half, depending on where
you're well, whatever spread that you have at that seven
and a eight and a half, let me just give

(20:13):
you some advice, take it late the point kind of
running the football. Well, remember week one we had the
Benny Snell show. Uh, he's resigned, resign resigned to clean
mean a backup here. Some big wars fought and some
big battles fought in in Pennsylvania. So since it's the

(20:34):
Battle of Pennsylvania, maybe they should move the game to
uh Gettysburg, um, Pennsylvania, which is almost like the halfway
point between Philadelphia and Pennsylvania. Oh, I mean in Pittsburgh.
And if you know about Gettysburg, uh, you know it's
uh there was a battle ground for a very very
uh pivotal moment in American history. A lot a lot

(20:57):
of hauntings there too. You can you can buy a
lot of books about ghosts of Gettysburg. I mean it's Halloween.
Will need some ghosts to help them win this game.
Unbalanced line, Uh yeah, I'll take the Steelers like Deonte Johnson,
Juju Smith, Schuster and company making some noise coming out.
Next we get to the other side of the a

(21:19):
f C North. A big battle there. If for nothing else,
you'll be entertained by it. But hey, let's get an update.
A lot of news floating across the the inner webs.
Our buddy, Isaac Locron has got his cover? What's our buddy? Indeed,
Michael and Lavarre. Monday Night's Patriots Broncos game has been
postponed after multiple outlets reported that the Patriots player tested

(21:39):
positive for COVID nineteen in testing that was done on
Saturday morning. Adam Scheft reports that the NFL is moving
the Patriots Broncos game to next Sunday, and the next
Sunday's previously scheduled Broncos Dolphins game is being rescheduled. The
Tennessee Titans temporarily closed their practice facility this morning after
a Titan staff member test the positive for COVID nineteen.

(22:01):
The Titans, who were presently scheduled to host the Buffalo
Bills on Tuesday, say they're in communication with the NFL
on the next steps. In college football, Saturday Night, number
two Alabama what an Ole miss sixty three to forty eight.
Alabama's Naji Harris ran for two oh six with five touchdowns.
Missouri victorious at seventeen thranked LSU forty five to forty one.

(22:22):
Missouri quarterback Connor Bays elect through for four oh six
with four touchdown passes LSU now one and two number one.
Clemson defeated Miami forty two to seventeen. Trevor Lawrence completed
one for two ninety two with three touchdowns. Travis e
t N ran for one nine with two touchdowns in
his own right, Michael and LaVar back to you. Thank

(22:44):
you so much. You find Isaak on Twitter at Isaac
Lowan cried, He'll be with us all morning with the updates.
We got our team assembled. Chris Perfett on the ones
and twos, and of course our executive producer Vince Close
making sure we've got all the news information uh and
and creature comforts we need to dominate the ear holes
of America. He's LaVar Arrington, He's the all American at

(23:04):
LaVar Arrington at King of the Mammals. Speak for yourself
on FS one and of course Warrior Woke dot com.
Check that out, improve your performance on the field, in
the classroom, in the boardroom. Uh the I watch your
flex podcast. Add I watch your flex uh Dan Buyer
and I you can you can roll that one up
as well. Added to your podcast role for the week's

(23:26):
released twice weekly on that as well. Let's get back
into the games. This one could be fun. What about
let's go all day Vans. All right, so the Spreads
twelve and a half. We kind of know which side
you you take in terms of straight wins and losses.
But Joe Burrow has been very intriguing the first few

(23:46):
weeks of this season, making plays with his legs, extending plays,
and letting his receivers find some love. Last week, Joe
Mixon was on the injury list and had to be
the no fly zone for fantasy purposes. What did he do?
He scored three touchdowns and taunted you the entire way.
Now you go up against the Baltimore defense eighteen points
per game, fourth in the National Football League, seven takeaways,

(24:10):
that's tied for fifth. I think they add a few
more to that tally today as Joe Burrow and company
are winning it around now. One thing to note, Ravens
had a lot of guys take most of the week
off for various ailments. Lamar Jackson illness and a knee,
Ronnie Stanley, Marks Brown all the way down. All of

(24:30):
those guys are expected to play. Tells you how confident
they are about winning this game as well. All right, Spreads,
either U I see it as eleven and a half
or twelve and a half. We'll play it at eleven
and a half. I'll take the sprite. You'll take the
over too, Yeah, I'm taking over on this. They're gonna

(24:54):
win and they're gonna come over under and this one too.
So yeah, well we'll take the over for sure. Let's
take points score, all right, next out, let's go all
that Washington. All right, let's talk about this. We're gonna
take the over. Just just hold on, now, hold on,

(25:20):
I'm gonna bring that to the cul de sac. I'm
bringing it back to the beginning here. All right, we
got our quarterback change. And I don't know that I've
ever seen such damning reports about a quarterback as they're
deposed that as I've seen from about Dwayne Hatskins. Silly
because I was looking at like stat comparisons as starters,

(25:42):
and you know, there there should be a lot of
quarterbacks being benched if we're looking at the way that
that Dwayne Haskins has been treated in the scenario. So no,
I'm not going to cry a river and do a
sob story. Uh, you know, rent On, if he should
be starting and has he been treated unfairly because we

(26:05):
all know that the National Football League does not specialize
nor should it have to specialize on what's fair and
not fair as it applies to production within the game. So,
you know, I feel for the young man. I know
Dwayne Haskins. I watched him grow up and heard about
him growing up in d m V area. Saw him

(26:26):
play at Ohio State. Obviously beat my team while he
was there. I think as much maligned storyline is overstated
and overblown. But you know, to that point, you have
to take the same critical I and put it on
that Washington team and say that it's a team that
probably is much maligned and continues to kind of stay

(26:47):
on the pattern that they've been on. So I don't
look at this as being a simple game for the Rams.
For some reason, the Washington football team plays good football.
They don't play winning football, good front seven. As we've
talked about a lot, UH and the Rams the identity
this year, they're not winning around downfield. It's been a

(27:09):
lot of let's play defense and let's grind in the
run game. So more of Malcolm Brown, more of Darryl Henderson, UH,
Jared Goff still putting up points for fantasy purposes and
and making smarter plays. I think they've been a more
efficient offense. They're not the Razzle Dazzle necessarily. They pulled
out a couple of stops here, uh twenty six point

(27:31):
five points per game, allowing twenty points per game. That's
tied for six, so that's a little different than we've seen,
uh six takeaways and watching it obviously n points per
game report this morning that Alex Smith is on track
to start potentially in the next three to four weeks.
So that's an interesting wrinkle to this. I know I

(27:52):
did the same when I saw the report. Is attempted
to be restored back to normal. You know what, It's impossible, Yeah,
it's it's a difficult proposition, but Kyle Allen will get
the start today. Obviously played in Carolina the day of
that choice, and we did that discussion when you didn't
go to go to Washington. It is an early armor

(28:14):
getting call for the Washington football team season already. Yeah,
made the call already to roll the Rams in this
one are seven and a half point favorites. I will
take them to win the game. I'll take Washington since
I'm getting that hook I'm taking the rams. I mean,
whatever the line is to cover the line to. Yeah,

(28:36):
they're going like whatever it is, but they're going to
play them, play them hard. But I got you. But
I still think they're going to cover What's all right?
We're coming to alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studio.
Is easy to say and more on your car insurance
with Geico. So go on over to Geico dot com
call one nine four seven auto. The only hard part

(28:57):
figuring out which way is easier. Time to choose our
own adventure Part one. Come out, let's go all days,
all right, Panthers, Teddy Bridgewater and Company averaging nearly twenty
five points per game. Yeah, come up with a big
win against Arizona. That defense Matt ruling company. Look, we

(29:19):
know one thing. They're gonna play hard for him. Right,
It's like in in Washington talent wise, and look there
might be some fragmented pieces of that locker room with
the Haskins decision. Maybe that galvanized him whatever in Carolina.
A lot of questions coming into the year. Thus far,
they're all answering the bell. They want to play for
Teddy Bridgewater, they want to play for Matt rule, averaging

(29:40):
about twenty five scoring per game, giving up twenty five
and a half per game seven takeaways thus far. That
ties them for fifth in the National Football League. By
way of contrast, we've got our Atlanta Falcons given up
thirty four and a half points per game thirty first
in the National Football League and scoring about twenty six
and a half. That put some nice in the meaty

(30:02):
part of the curve in terms of scoring offenses. Calvin
Ridley last week shut out. How about that? Man, I
wouldn't have expected to see that one, But Carolina showing
showing some heart. Uh, they are two and a half
point underdogs on the road at Atlanta. Does dan Quinn
finally get a victory? Ah? Man? Does dan Quinn finally

(30:22):
get a victory? You know, this team really, in a
lot of ways are a conundrum, and I don't know
that they have figured out the answer to this great
conundrum known as the Atlanta Falcons. So with that being said,

(30:43):
I saw some identity surface with with this Carolina team
last weekend. I think they build on that this week
and and the uncertainty surrounding the Atlanta Falcons, how are
they going to climb out of this hole. They have
played well enough to win multiple games that they have lost,
but nonetheless, they have found a way to lose. They

(31:05):
have not shown that they are a team that is
trending in the right direction, even though at times you
see things that make you want to say or believe
that they are. I'm going with the Carolina Panthers. What
what is? What is? The line is two and a half? Yeah,
they'll they'll cover. That's gonna take Carolina to win out right,

(31:26):
all right, I'm gonna go the other way. I'm gonna
take at Lanta to win, and it's gonna be ugly,
it's gonna be chaotic. I do like what Carolina has done, right, No,
Christian McCaffrey, Robby Anderson has become a much more complete receiver.
Of course, he was with the Jets, so I guess
that left a lot of space to be picked up
in uh some once of a well a quarterback that

(31:48):
can actually deliver the football. A couple more weeks from McCaffrey,
is what they say. McCaffrey owners out there, so more
Mike Davis on the horizon for you. I will take
at Lanted to win, but I think that it's gonna
be arrow, So I'll take Carolina, uh plus the two
and a half against the spread coming up in just
a couple of minutes, we will continue our choose your

(32:09):
own adventure. We have a quarterbacking change, and then while
we've got a coaching change, we'll discuss those two things
coming up next. Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. Perk
up your rears for Farmers policy perks from discount too
headed benefits. You can get a whole lot of something.

welcome back in It's Fox Football Sunday. We're rolling along
the week five NFL schedule, obviously awaiting any further developments.
We've already got the postpone until next week of Denver

(32:53):
and New England. So get those fantasy numbers moving. If
you had some parlay tickets or some straight up wagers going, uh,
those will get pushed and you'll have your money to
work on something else. So concoct another play as you
were LaVar Arrington with me on Mike Carmen, thanks for
hanging out with us this morning as we go through
the games, and we've got a quarterback change to talk about,

(33:17):
or maybe we don't. What about let's go all day
Cardinals said, chats. What's Joe Flacco got left in the tank?
LaVar Arrington, what do you think He's got a little
bit of two pace left in this tube, just rolling
it up, trying to squeeze out one more one more
mouth cleansing before we're done. Jets plus seven and I

(33:39):
have Arizona on the road coming off the loss. We
just talked about to the Carolina paths careless with the
football prescription for for the doctor to to draw up
for the Arizona Cardinals to get back on track, something
that cure the the ailments. When last we talked about
the Jets, I was talking about the personnel malpractice by

(34:03):
the coaching staff in front office when they had McKay
Beckton active as in a brake glass in case of emergency,
and then he was in there for the fourth place
shoulder injury. That guy's your bookend tackle for the next
decade if you do this right. But we as we
know they're the Jets. Uh, you have Brashad Parriman also
gonna miss this one an ankle, and Donald out indefinitely

(34:25):
with the shoulder. Remember he got hurt and then came
back in again. Everybody thought it was a collar bone.
I mean, I know I immediately thought it was a
collar bone, and then listening to the call on the game, Uh,
you know, it sounded like Troy thought it was Troy
thought it was done as well. So you know, there
there's the consistent issue there for Arizona. They come in

(34:45):
fairly healthy, Canard out with a calf uh linebacker and
a couple of questionable tags. But guys push through such
a strong start, and it gave you the feeling that
this team was going to be a petitive team, but
just showing some inconsistencies in terms of how they handle
their business and letting teams sneak up on them. Uh.

(35:08):
It still says to me that this is a team
that can be susceptible to games that are winnable versus
games that are considered to be games. So when I
look at this game, Mike, I find it hard to
believe that the Jets have any type of weaponry or
missiles or bombs attached to their their uh flying vessel.

(35:33):
So I'm going with the Cardinals to win this game.
What's what's the line line on this one is seven
and a half? Yeah, and they will cover are you're
gonna take them to cover it? Out right? I'm gonna
take the Jets with the points. I'm half tempted to
take them to win the game out right because of
that inconsistency that you describe with this Arizona Cardinals team.

(35:53):
You got Kenyan Drake has struggled the last couple of weeks,
saying he's got a bit of a chest injury. So
you may see or of Chase Edmonds in the backfield
here as well. Christian Kirk was healthy. Uh, he scored
a touchdown. The yardage wasn't there the big play that
you're looking for, but certainly still in the mix. DeAndre
as good as it you're making, you're making just so

(36:16):
you have to work out well. It gives me an
extra five minutes, uh five miles on the treadmill. By
the way, one l Rue with the umlat z maas
m y a z is the way we're spelling it.
We're gonna make t shirts and have a whole movement
run Mike run before it's all said and done. Oh no,
that's rich Eizon's things. I gotta come up with something else.

(36:38):
But the Jets they also get lady on bell back.
Does that sway you at all? It doesn't, It doesn't.
All right. I just think Flacco's got water two throws
against this defense to keep it close. And that's as
much as I can say. That's that's a whole lot
of de flate gate. Nicely done. Alright, alright here, now
we have a coaching change to discuss. What about go

(37:00):
all that? Jack Arson Texans? All right, here we go.
The Texans have yet to generate a turnover. Yes, that's right,
zero takeaways. We know the firing of Bill O'Brien, Romeo
Cornell takes over Tim Kelly, the second year offensive coordinator. Uh,
they're giving up thirty one and a half per game.
That's tied for scoring just twenty points per game despite

(37:24):
having Deshaun Watson, so we started to see attention shift
towards him and his partner all this J J. Watt
reportedly with the big blowout with Bill O'Brien, which was
the deciding factor making things change. As we look at
this line You've got Houston favored by five and a
half when the season when these were first put up,

(37:45):
they were nine point favorite. Gardner Minshew in company come
in averaging just a hair shy of twenty four points
per game. Yeah, I believe Houston is gonna play. This
is one of those those games where the emotions will
be flying high. They're gonna want to show that they're
not a vulnerable team or a washed up team as

(38:07):
much as people may believe. I think they fight. I
think they fight through things today. I think that Jacksonville
is the type of team where you could try to
figure it out, even though they have played at a
higher level than what I anticipated coming into the season.
So shots out to Jacksonville for overcoming losing pretty much
all of their franchise guys. Um. But you know, I

(38:31):
think that the Houston Texans will come out and and
and show for at least one week that they have
enough intestinal fortitude to be able to pull a victory out.
You get an extra bonus dollar into the jar for
saying intestinal fortitude. Josh Allen out from the defensive line
of your Jaguars. They've got a couple of questionable tags

(38:52):
in the linebacking corps and the defensive secondary for the
tax in Jordan's Aikins, if you're looking for a little
bit of love. Ankle slash concussion protocol looks like he's
going to give it a go, but becomes a more
difficult ninja option as you go. Will full or not
on my injury report as we start things. So that's
a big deal. Look for him to make some players.

(39:14):
I think there's some opportunities here. Uh and a get
right game. If you're in a daily fantasy league, go
take a lookout for what Deshaun Watson's valuation is. You
might get a little bit of a bonus for this week.
Jacksonville give it up twenty nine points per game, Houston
and Houston covers they show out for Romeo Crennell in
this one. But just a curious time after the first

(39:36):
quarter of a season to make a change. But when
you're averaging just twenty points per game, uh, and you're
watching the personnel moves that you made, hamstringing your development,
plus all the personality issues right, personality issues, plus you're
looking ahead, going doesn't get any better. No, our draft
picks are off in Miami going forward for deals we made.

(39:57):
He's LaVar Arrington. I'm Mike Carman. This is five Football Sunday.
Coming up next, we talk Kansas City and your Raiders.
You're listening to Fox Sports po Welcome in an hour
two of the program Fastest Moving NFL preview show you're
gonna get coming up in an hour's from time time

(40:18):
from now. You've got Colin Coward, uh, Chrissa Thompson and
all the gang ready to get you started. And then
it's Fox NFL Sunday. Here on Fox Sports Randy open
for the next hour, we'll preview games. You heard from
Isaac Lowen Crown. We've got a postponement. Yeah, so you
won't have middle afternoon Monday football. We still have one
more Monday night game. We'll get to uh in ament reminder,

(40:40):
bye week for the Lions and for the Packers. Our
guy Chris Perfett on the ones and twos. He's excited
because he just go watch football and he doesn't have
to uh sweat out three hours. He doesn't have to
curse at his television. Pressure will stay constant for a
couple hours. Don't know why, Chris, you don't have those

(41:03):
type of reactions when you watch you don't have those
type of reactions what you're watching your Lions play, do
you know? It's more like humor. I honestly the last
but literally literally, I think the last time I ever
got mad at a football game, any football game was
ten Lions Cowboys wild Card, just because of what happened there.

(41:25):
But after other than that, I'm a stone a little bit.
So everything is like a bonus to you when you're
watching the lines, Like, if it goes bad, you expected it.
If it goes well, then you're happy. Right. I just
tried to find the funny sides of it, which is
hard with the NFL. Everyone's very serious. Fans are very serious,
and I just I try to find the silly stuff. Okay,

(41:45):
that's a great way keep on the sunny side of life.
That's it. I like that. I think years of being
Alliance fan, that'll do it. I have to do a
lot of laughing when I was in Washington. No, you
weren't laughing while you were there. When you're on a
you were laughing. I was trying to laugh it off.
You're trying like that's the key point. You were trying

(42:06):
a lot of trying to laugh it off book, Right,
in the words of the immortal John L. Smith. Hey, smile, smile.
He's LaVar Arrington, the All American. Find him on Twitter
at LaVar Arrington. Find him on Instagram at King of
the Mammals. You can find me over at Swollen Dome. Um.

(42:27):
We're doing our picks as we roll on my one
d Lose my Ass challenge. I'm starting to clean up
in the face a little bit. We're getting that we
got a few weeks away. But the road, yeah, well
you know what those those the beauty of the NFL.
As most games are decided by seven or fewer points,
which is for you, is that you're missing your calls

(42:49):
and you're losing your arts. Well take you take some shots. Yeah, no, absolutely, Look,
it's it's boring to be in full lockstep of agreement
on all games. So we got a little bit of that,
and if it's gonna get me on the treadmill, there's
some good that comes out of it, high and tight, like, hey,
look man, I'm taking another trip around the the the

(43:09):
earth here coming up on Thursday. I got another I
got one of those birthday things popping up. So you know,
you're trying to make sure that you get to see
the next one, which means more my house on the
treadmill is probably helpful to you want to get. No, no,
I didn't pick them to wind. I took him while
I did with with the spread at seven and a half. No,
I'm not taking them straight. No no, no, no, but

(43:31):
we're I'm doing I would be willing to, but you
didn't commit to know. I wasn't gonna. I wasn't gonna.
All right. This is one where it feels like if
they could steal the game, they could steal the game,
because I don't know what Arizona is yet. Through four games,
they've been one of the more enigmatics to understand what
the Jets are thought. But but can Joe Flacco just

(43:51):
winging around for one Laco? That's the question. Will you
go wacko for flack A? And that's what we're talking about,
all right, so we have you'd understand lack A the legend. Hey,
remember when we were talking about Joe Flacco being elite.
That's not so long ago, people, that's how the calendar
flips here. Yeah, So Denver, New England postpone, that'll be

(44:14):
a week six matchup, So get those guys, out of
your lineup we still have as of now, even with
another positive test for the Titans, that game is still
expected to be played on Tuesday. Will will anxiously await
if you're looking to make your fantasy lineups now, I'm
telling you, as much as I love Josh Allen, I'm
out like I can't commit to Tuesday knowing that there's

(44:36):
still positive tests. As much as they want to fight through,
this is one that it's going to be more difficult
matchup as it stands. You're you're banking on the rushing
yards and touchdowns and Stefon digs. A little more difficult
proposition here. I just can't wait because if they end
up not playing, you got you got a zero. You're
not getting any points. If there's a Game seven substituting in.

(44:59):
You know, al Crusoe from the Lakers. We don't cross
sports in fantasy football. As much as you like. How
about that? How about me talking about a Game seven?
You like the way I slipped that one in there.
Comedy Alive from the Well, that's just it gotta be crafty.
As you you work here in the Geico Fox Sports
Radio Studios, fifteen minutes can save you fiftcent or more

(45:19):
on your car insurance. This is Geico dot Com for
a free rate quote. So while they've taken Denver and
New England away from us, we still have another Monday
night football game. Wear them out, let's go all day
Raiders Chiefs. So we've got the Raiders in the chiefs role,
and obviously I advanced the narrative towards the Later on

(45:41):
we'll get into Chargers and and these Saints. But for
the Las Vegas Raiders, it's been well misery on the
defensive side of things. Thus far. We're looking at a
team given up thirty points per game. They are averaging
twenty seven point eight, so getting it done. Their Jacobs
and Waller are your superstars. But they've only had two

(46:02):
takeaways on defense thus far six turnovers. By way of contrast,
you've got Kansas City seven takeaways, tied for fifth. They've
only given up two turnovers cleaned with the football. That's
third few is in the National Football League. And they're
only giving up seven teen point five points per game.
And that's the stat I want to highlight for you, LaVar,

(46:23):
because we talk about the offense all the time, right
we talk about the speed if we talk about Kelsey
and Hill defense is strong, but they're playing crazy rugged
right now. Uh. I could give a whole lot of analysis.
This isn't it for this, It's not for it's not

(46:44):
it's not any good for this this game because if
you just look at share statistical facts and just really
basically sensible um thinking, critical thinking, you know that outside
of this being a divisional game and divisionally where it
gets pretty heated at times when both teams are competitive, um,

(47:07):
outside of that, I don't see there being really any
hope or any chance of the Raiders being able to
compete in this game. So I concur the spread on
this one is sitting at eleven, Brian Edwards out covers,
they'll cover that. Yeah, I think this one, because you've
seen them bottled up a little bit, this is one
where you can open up the offense again. I mean,

(47:28):
like I said, I could give you a whole bunch
of reasoning behind thinking what I'm thinking, But let's hold
off on the Chiefs. Yeah, if you're watching football and
you're seeing this Chief's team play, um, I think you
understand and realize why it's not really feasible to pick
the Raiders even for an upset. No, not not even close.

(47:49):
I'm not even thinking they're in the same ballpark this
one again. You want to blow it out. Yeah, And
it's funny because I'm a reference to the fact that,
uh that the Chiefs win the second in the fourth
quarter of the year and literally have not lost a
second quarter all year long. And don't you know on

(48:12):
the on the gang call, somebody made reference to us.
So if you're listening to our show, out their shots.
Out to you for listening to us giving you information
to use during the games. But hey, welcome on board. Look,
we got radio producers, radio hosts. It's quite clear we've
we've become the show of shows is going to be

(48:32):
a massacre. Yeah, we look at the Chiefs thus far
on the schedule. You have the blowout win over Baltimore,
you have the narrow victory here in Los Angeles against
the Chargers, the opening week game against Houston, and then
against New England, and that I don't think it told
the full tale, right because we look at the way

(48:54):
New England was able to defend them. If Hoyer is
smarter at the end of the first half, we go
into six exon who knows you've got a bunch of chance, right,
But nonetheless, the Chiefs have shown that they can get
you in the second quarter and they can get you
in the fourth quarter, and I don't think they will
need the fourth quarter for this game. Yeah, I think
this is a circumstances where you go and you get

(49:14):
your business done because you know Buffalo is on the rise,
Get in and get out right Buffalo. That game is
currently scheduled for Sunday, but as we know, everything's fluid.
Shuffle up and deal as it were. We both pick
k C minus the eleven next, arrow them out. Let's
go all day. Because I'm a nerd, this might be

(49:35):
one of my favorite games of the week's most intriguing.
For certain right, costanzo is out rib injury, so out
on the offensive line, Darius Leonard groin injury, out, Anthony Walker.
I got Northwestern questionable with an ankle injury for the Browns,
continued problems in that back seven, Ty Davis and Greedy

(49:56):
Williams still out. You still have questionable tags on both
Carl Joe and Adrian Claiborne with a hip injury. So
I'm so let me give Cleveland their props because I
clown on them. We talked about the Browns and and
and all of those ways of referencing them, and they

(50:19):
only have one loss, and that one loss came in
the first week of the season well against a very
good Baltimore team where they got blown out of the water.
So it was, well, is it same old Browns or
is this a function of who you're playing? I give
props where props? Or do to come out and overcome
and get to that three win? You know, Mark, you

(50:42):
know someone called that big upset last week. I don't
know who that was. Who was it? Who was it?
I think we both were on I think we both
said they're both on the Browns. I think I think
we said they went big too. As a matter of
fact when we said it, I would love to clip
some of the times that go right. Yeah, I think
I think Cleveland is going to continue to find a

(51:04):
way to win. Starting to look pretty good, all right, No, No,
Nick Chubbs. So there's one big right, raym Hunt and
Dernis Johnson, who, if you look on your waiver wire,
should have been picked up in virtually every league. He
was a guy that that ran the ball. Well. This
one because of the injuries to the linebackers. And we

(51:26):
had talked about this with the Colts Bears game last week, right,
how good the defense is. They're giving up fourteen points
per game. And as crazy as the Bears offenses there,
that's a whole other thing. Fourteen points per game through
the first quarter of a season. Nothing to sneeze at.
You're taking the Browns. You're just cutting through the cut

(51:46):
to the chase. Cleveland is a one point favorite. They'll
cover that. Do you realize that? Here's here's the stat
for you though, on that on even with all the
injuries they've had in the secondary, they currently lead the
NFL with ten takeaways. Defensive front getting getting to work. Yeah,
I didn't know that. But still giving up thirty one

(52:08):
point five points per game. But I don't trusts. Yeah,
I just still don't trust stuff pretty high in some
some categories. I'm I'm I think I'm with you. It's
not the the big bold. Hey, they're gonna go beat
the Cowboys, but I don't trust Philip Rivers. That run
game has not been very good. You know, Taylor has

(52:28):
had a couple of big runs that had the stats.
T Y Hilton has been non existent, Yeah, they're inconsistent
and I love me some mo Ali Cox the tight end.
Uh there's your fantasy waiver wire guy, if you want
to take a take a flyer for it. But yeah,
I think the inconsistency offensively Cleveland. Two weeks in a row,

(52:48):
we both picked the Cleveland that is right? All right?
Coming out next we Uh, well, one of our Monday
night games went asunder, but we've got a big one
on Sunday night at football. I want to see if
one team continued it's offensive wizardry allowing to the other team.
Do they show up? He's LaVar Arrington. I'm Mike Rmen,
this is Fox Football Sunday. Don't listening to Fox Sports. Hey,

(53:15):
welcome back in. It's Fox Football Sunday. Mike Armen alongside
the all American LaVar Arrington having some fun with you.
Thanks for giving us a few minutes of your time.
We know you have a lot of entertainment and information
options out there. Glad you became part of the family,
So welcome on in. Ats won't one don't where you
find me get six star questions for your fantasy teams.

(53:35):
I'll get to those in about forty minutes from Now,
once we get off air at LaVar Arrington on Twitter
at King of the Mammals on Instagram, as you roll
through your Sunday morning, some great food suggestions. I mean,
LaVar is in now a culinary master and showing you
the the weares and I know, man, you're just killing it.

(54:00):
I put I crushed some What were they? What are
the long nuts that that you know Cash used? That's
what it was, a smash from Cash. I was just
gonna let that hang out. Yeah, but it is Sunday morning.
We gotta pick that up. You did say, let him
hang out there, wait to catch some cash us on

(54:21):
that that salmon Like first I I I, um, I
glazed them with with honey barbecue. And then so I
told you, guys, I'm on this whole ninja foodie thing right,
been full on it. I won't suspend you for two
weeks for that. So I tried. So I tried a

(54:42):
different setting. I went for air crisp instead of grilling. Boy,
I tell you, changed smile on your face. The stomach
started burning when I said it. It was amazing. It's
like the first time that I made salmon and it
did it. You know, there were no left overs. That's positivity.
Right now, let's go back to the NFL and then

(55:06):
the idea of leftovers, in other words, what what games
are we gonna have sitting out there for a week
eighteen week nineteen? Because now now we're starting to really
pull the puzzle back and forth. And as you and
I and our executive producer Vince close, we're talking about
Albert Brier raising the hand, and we've all talked about it.
Now as soon as it starts coming out of the

(55:28):
insiders mouths like, all right, who are you hearing this from?
Let's let's start, you know, ferreting that out? Is it
certain individual teams? Are we talking from the league that
perhaps there's a little more push and thrust towards looking
at it long term in terms of adding weeks. Now
where we have the conundrum is we we talked about

(55:51):
Denver and New England getting moved back to week six,
displacing the original matchup against the Dolphins. So now that
that matchup goes into no man's land and it starts
to beg the question is are we gonna at a
are you gonna be able to make them up? Be
do you care to make him up? Do we go
to winning percentage and see, does it only matter if

(56:13):
the games that get displaced are with crap teams? Right,
Miami being one in three, Denver not being very good?
You know, does that matter when we're looking at it all? Right,
we can move these games around as long as New
England gets its sixteen because they're competitive. As long as Tennessee,
who's a potential playoff team, gets it sixteen? Is that okay?

(56:36):
But if we end up losing a matchup for say
Miami versus a Denver or whatever, and not looking at
their schedules right now, but the idea being that if
it's a bad team, then perhaps it doesn't matter the
same way. What's interesting to me is has the NFL
it does the NFL even have the capabilities to try

(56:59):
to mathematically figure out from worst case scenario to best
case scenario what happens in between? Because there's so many
in between, how would you be able to possibly prepare
for if four or five teams end up having to

(57:21):
because at four or five teams end up having to
cancel games because of COVID, then that's ten teams, right,
So if it's if any time you see a team
having to cancel the game. There's another team that's attached
to that, whether they were COVID uh you know, or

(57:42):
not right exactly. So I'm just wondering when when you
start to hear about what's taking place with the Titans
and what's taking place with the the New England Patriots,
it just makes me wonder what is going to be Like,
is there an emergency plan and for if it gets

(58:02):
a little bit more prominent, you know, with with teams
testing positive, So I would assume they have some type
of contingency plan in terms of how to try to
make up the games. But if it goes beyond like
like we're talking about, if it goes beyond a point
where games are getting so displaced, like they're backing up,

(58:26):
like you got two games backed up, right, so you
can shuffle on your big board of schedule making a
game here or there, and that's what we're seeing. But
if suddenly you hit and this is I've got a
few listeners that love when we get to critical mass
anything you know what's interesting, Yeah, what's interesting. Here's what's interesting.

(58:49):
Pique my interest. Go ahead, Monday and Thursday could potentially
become a normalized deal for multiple game NFL NFL schedules.
If if it were to like think about this, this
almost gives the NFL, if they're looking at it glass

(59:10):
glass half full versus glass half empty. This gives you
an opportunity to see if you can you know, Roselle
did the same thing when they took football to what
was it to ABC or whatever it was, when they
took it um and and just tested to see if
it would work. And then you added, you know a

(59:33):
little bit Monday football. When I first started it, I
mean maybe coronavirus. This pandemic has given the NFL an
opportunity to actually figure out if other days of the
week can be more impactful because we've saw Monday, Monday
night football has not been what it's needed to be,

(59:55):
you know as of recent years. Thursday night football is
not where needs to be as of recent years. So
when you look at those those type of ratings, you're
basing it off of a one game deal. And that's
why they started trying to flex, you know, the games
moving forward into the season, because you wanted to have
more competitive and compelling storylines and games taking place on

(01:00:17):
those off nights. So I just wonder if based upon
what what is developing Now will Thursday night and Monday
night become that much more important to what's going on
because you are going to have to reschedule games. But
with that's being said, this is football, so we've never

(01:00:39):
Thursday to Sunday, you know, Thursday to the next Sunday
um is generally what we see. Or Monday nights making
it a shorter week for the next week is generally
the closest we've seen two teams having to play a
game so immediate. So now you're not gonna have two
games times in a week for one team. I can't

(01:01:03):
see that becoming a new precedent. So it's kind of
this is this has got to be a very stressful
time for the decision makers of of of the league
and the teams themselves. Well, you get into all the
discussions between the p A, the league, and the assumption
has always been there's the break glass in case of emergency,
second scheduling option in terms of adding weeks or extending

(01:01:27):
the season as you needed to. Just don't know how
you're going to extend the season right. How you execute
it is an entirely different thing. The other thing is
within the teams and we talked about the possibilities of
forfeits and and then your foregoing game checks. At some
point do the team leaders start looking around, going all right,
how do we protect ourselves? Right? We can't protect you know,

(01:01:51):
what the other team is doing, but let's make sure
we're we're looking out for ourselves. And they decide they're
just taking over a local hotel and living together for
the next three months, saying I can't afford to lose
three quarters in my game checks. But then now that's
gonna be a whole another conversation in terms of p
A and what does that mean and people's free time
and oh yeah, no, I'm just saying in terms able

(01:02:13):
to opt out, you know, it's it's gonna it could
get complicated. I was just meaning the team themselves, like
the players themselves, just saying, you know what, as a group,
we're just position group. We're checking into the four seasons
and where this is where we're living the rest of
the season. Love you, Love you show, but we're out. Uh.
Who knows a lot of a lot of moving parts

(01:02:33):
to this. Let's let's put it mildly, all right, We've
got uh, four more games that we gotta hustle through.
But first we're gonna go over to Isaac Loo Crown.
He's got what's trending and news and updates across the
NFL universe. What's up body? Indeed, Michael and LaVar and Lavary,
you're actually very exactly right. If the NFL was a
relationship status right now, it would indeed be. It's complicated.

(01:02:57):
Monday Night's Patriots Broncos game postponed at the Multiple outlets
reported that the Patriots players tested positive for COVID nineteen
in testing that was done on Saturday morning. Adam Schefter
reports that the NFL is moving the Patriots Broncos game
to next Sunday, and the next Sunday's previously scheduled Broncos
Dolphins game is being rescheduled. A footnote Broncos running back

(01:03:19):
Melvin Gordon tweeting after the Patriots Broncos postponement was announced, quote,
ain't no way. We practiced all week and they canceled
our game unquote. The Tennessee Titans temporarily closed their practice
facility this morning after a Titan staff member tested positive
for COVID nineteen. The Titans, who are presently scheduled to

(01:03:39):
host the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, say they are in
communication with the NFL on the next steps. Tom Pella
Sero of NFL Media reporting a short time ago that
the Titan staffer in question is a member of the
coaching staff who had not physically been inside the Titans
facility for nearly two weeks. The support presented by Geico

(01:04:01):
It's Geico Ween and Geico's spell Binding Savings could lower
how much you pay for car insurance. Get a quote
today and see just how much you could save. Visit
Geico dot com. In college football Saturday night, number two
Alabama What at All? Miss sixty three to eight. Alabama's
Naji Harris ran for two oh six with five touchdowns.

(01:04:23):
Missouri what at seventeen ranked LSU forty to forty one.
L s U now one and two and number one
Clemson defeated Miami forty two to seventeen. Michael and LaVar
thank you so much. I know you can find Isaac
on Twitter at Isaac Lowankron Uh. He's got a lot
of quips and queries and we'll get you ready for

(01:04:44):
Chargers football on Monday night. For those that are holding
fantasy players again, Buffalo, Tennessee. We're waiting to see what
goes on the opportunity. I guess you can go to
the waiver wire and add some of the guys for
the Monday night football game, right just and Jackson go Cats.
UH steps into a bigger role with Austin Ekeler being injured.

(01:05:05):
But you know what, why don't we talk about that
game in a few minutes. First, let's get into well,
Minnesota and Seattle. Let's go where about Let's go all
day Seahawks. All right, so we know the Seahawks thirty
five and a half points per game, twenty seven points
allowed per game sivelike defense. If you're working out of

(01:05:26):
the slot, you're gonna make make some Hey, eight takeaways
tied for third Minnesota UH seven of their own in
terms of the takeaway thirty one points allowed per game
for defense, so actually worse than Seattle. So expecting some
points to go up in this one, no doubt. The
blind sitting at six and a half started at nine

(01:05:48):
way back in the day. Minnesota struggling to get anything
and consistent rolling this season thus far, Dalvin Cook has
been your your saving grace. But this one, Seattle gives
up points, so I I don't count over under his
fifty six. Yeah. I think this is my upset alert

(01:06:09):
this week. This is the trap game of of the
week on my list. And when I look at the matchup,
it's a bad matchup for the Seahawks, and and so
they can they can score some points in Minnesota and
look for the running game to be a large part
in the way they're able to move the ball around.

(01:06:30):
I just think that you gotta have time of possession
when you're playing against the team like like Seattle. I
said that about New England playing against the Kansas City Chiefs,
which that's gonna be pretty much every team that plays
against the Kansas City Chiefs. You're gonna have to control
time of possession and win time with possessions and win
the turnover battle in order to have a real opportunity

(01:06:52):
to win the game. I think Minnesota coming into this
game actually has the ability to pull this this upset.
So I'm gonna take them on on the win them.
You're just taking them flat out. I love that. I'm
gonna take them with the points for sure. I've been
having and haunt on this one because of the defensive
laps is because you've got feeling in Jefferson and Dalvin

(01:07:14):
Cook out of the backfield to make some hay and
that that's the bottom line. Keep Russell Wilson pacing the
sidelines right. You can't let that offense come out when
we're seeing the explosiveness metcalf and when you're you're looking
at Tyler Lockett and what you have offensively. This is
the Sunday Night one. This one should be fun. Uh

(01:07:36):
looking forward to the points explosion. I'll still take Seattle
to win a narrow game, but I think they get
tested in a big way. Next. What about let's go
all day sings? All right? As I met you a
couple of minutes ago, you lost Austin Ekeler for a while,
So more Joshua Kelly and Justin Jackson getting it done.

(01:07:58):
Los Angeles now committed full league after a talk maybe
with some of these coaching luminary saying you've got a
kid that can be a special player, let them play. Uh.
So for now, we still see the Justin Herbert express
rolling out for this week's game. I'm curious to see

(01:08:18):
what that offense becomes get right now twenty point eight
points per game. That's in the league. There's still a
lot of work to be done New Orleans. For all
of the misgivings, they're averaging thirty point eight as an offense,
given up thirty point eight as a defense, so consistent
as it were. Still a lot of injuries on that

(01:08:39):
New Orleans side of things. Uh, this is the Monday
night game, so we don't have a final injury report
as of yet. All of your heroes questionable tags with
the trending towards playing, but still some cautionary tales. If
you're Michael Thomas or Jared Cook, owners there you go.
I mean, I think you could play it safe with
this one, and look at the way that, um you know,

(01:09:03):
the game takes place. It's you gotta look at New
Orleans and and what Alvin Camara has been able to
do not only running the ball, but catching the ball
out of the backfield. I think that's actually been the
difference for this team's um ability to to stay competitive
and get wins. So look at them to lean on

(01:09:25):
on that that Camara uh Drew Brees connection a little
bit more. You know, Michael Thomas is still healing to
get and he's upgraded, but not not there yet so,
but I mean, I think New Orleans is the team
in in this game. What what's the line? K Smith
and Emmanuel Sanders current line is up to eight, so

(01:09:48):
it's actually moved up. Yeah. I I think they'll beat
them by more than they're gonna take him by more
than eight. I will take the Chargers with some late
big play capability out of Herbert to keep it close.
Lavars both on New Orleans. Now it's trying to choose
our own adventure. We've got two games left. Let's go

(01:10:10):
about Let's go all day Giants, Cowboy. We can get
through this one pretty quick. I think eleven point eight
points per game for Giants, eight turnovers tied, I say
I pass Dallas nine giveaways tied for most. Was actually

(01:10:34):
used to be a very very intense and story competition
between seven and a half that don't really get excited
about this. You're not fired up the put game of
the week. Uh, but I'll take Dallas by default. It's
just the lesser I think come in the seven and
a half. I say that legitimately, is that this one

(01:11:00):
that they just start winging it around? Why not? Alright?
And then let me tell you something. Let me tell
you guys something out there, because look at their faces.
The matchup of the game is a punch line of
a joke to begin with. All right, but if for
some strange reason, the New York Giants win this game today,

(01:11:26):
I would love to be and a fly on the wall,
a fly on Jerry's head. Oh no, no, no, I
would love have been political for a long time. I
would love to be a fly on Jerry's head after

(01:11:47):
that game. I'll tell you why. I mean, we programmed
like much like we said on this show last last
last week, if the Browns beat the Cowboys, that would
be the talking points all week, rolling talking all about
the Cowboys. Brown's got a little bit of love for winning.
The game. Didn't matter. It was all about it. Look,

(01:12:08):
it's always better in the losing locker, especially with expectations
like at this moment in time the Browns, you could
actually have a conversation about it. This is worse. This
is what Yeah, Dallas, Uh, this is a get right
game if there ever was one on the schedule, because
you can play to all the emotions of there are

(01:12:29):
our division and we need to have this game. And
if New York wins this game, remember that you listen
to the show, or tell somebody listen to the show
and just say, you know, LaVar is somewhere rolling like
I mean, cracking up so hard that he is rolling
on the ground. I was I want to see how

(01:12:51):
Joe Judge celebrates. Are kidding? He might go to the
Star and do snow age will be belly laughing so hard.
If the Giants won this game, all the gifts of
money being taken away from someone Michael Jordan's face means
the Shannon Sharp face memes that there will be a

(01:13:13):
lot of face memes. If the Cowboys lose this game today,
absolute chaos would ensue for that. I'm look, I'm not
giving up the five miles by being crazy, But is
it wrong to say I'm kind of cheering for the
upset just to see what happens, because here's you know
what I mean. I mean, you could almost argue the

(01:13:33):
fact that this is a fireable offense. No that that
I was just gonna say, is this if he loses
to the Giants, can Mike McCarthy be bounced because Jason
Garrett's on the other side. That's the thing. What do
they have in their bag of tricks? That they could
throw out because this is where you start throwing the
wrenches and everything else at a team. You know, I'm
changing my mind. I'm gonna take them with the points.

(01:13:54):
I'm not gonna take him to win out right, But
they keep it, keep it close enough to stress the
hell out of the choices. Dallas better when that's that's
my pickure? Just like that, Dallas better? Why? And I
want to pick the other side so bad? All right,
we got one more game to go through. We got
our Mammals of the Week, and we've got our Fantasy Ninjas.

(01:14:14):
That's all coming up next. Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Oh slap the base, Thank you all for being part
of the family here Fox Sports Radio, this Fox Football Sunday, myself,
Mike Armen alongside the all American Love our errant. Oh
can you hit that note again? That was crazy? Are

(01:14:36):
we gonna start doing doing podcast ran random Voices? Yeah? Exactly.
Uh Hey, check in on your people, by the way,
if you haven't done in a while, I know we
we talked about that a lot Macan in March and April.
Yesterday was National Mental Health Awareness Day, So make sure

(01:14:57):
you're checking in on your people because great, you know,
it's it's the time that you know, a lot of
folks start to slide back into into habits as we
get into the fall, right, the sun setting earlier. Just
just make sure you're looking out for your folks. Not
so much here in California, y'all, but everywhere else now.
But it just the idea of as we get into

(01:15:19):
the fall though, right, it's it starts to become that
I'm an East Coast gastle. When I hear you, I
start thinking a whole lot of different color leaves. Well,
I know seasonality doesn't exist here. I get air. The
air has a different smell, a different crisp crispness, crispinus.
Now you're starting to sound like George Ka stand going

(01:15:40):
through your lines. All right, we got one more game
to get to. This could be pretty fast wing out.
Let's go all dayfense, Niners at eight point favorite the
over under one here. This is actually an intriguing gay
Garoppolo returns, Devo Samuel returns. But they've been out for

(01:16:01):
a while. Yeah, so it's not it's not Outland is
to think they may be an average outfit. They saw
the lost last average They may be more average than
what they were last week without Garoppolo. So seventeen point
eight points per game is what they're allowing right now.
That is third best in the National Football League. Uh

(01:16:24):
and we know Ryan Fitzpatrick still the trigger man for Miami.
Miles gask In, your lead running back who gets vultured
by Jordan Howard time and time again, Preston Williams and
DeVante Parker making plays and on the edges. This could
be a difficult game for the forty niners at home

(01:16:45):
minus the eight. I'll take Miami plus the eight because
Fitzpatrick has no conscience and keep slinging it. I like.
I like the fact that this is an opportunity for
Jimmy G to to take his thumb and and and
just thumb it at everyone who doesn't thinks he's as

(01:17:05):
good as as advertised. I look at them having a
good day today and Jimmy G shows up. They beat
that eight points nicely, doing all right, So that takes
the full slate. We'll put the picks up. Uh. In
a little bit, I'll do a little Instagram video and
start screaming like an idiot. Uh ats won't wind him
and a few Uh. Now it's out for the Mammals

(01:17:27):
of the week. What do we got, Let's jump through
them real quickly. I think that this is a great
week for Dak Prescott to get a lot of numbers
against that uh New York Giants defense. So I think
he would be a safe pick if you want to
use him um as a quarterback on on your team.
Uh coming to the l A the local team. I
think this is a great week for Cooper cup Um.

(01:17:49):
If you take take you know, I want to take
a flyer on him and put him on your at
him to your list of guys. Uh. Alvin Camara, I
think this is a big weekend for Alvin Camara. I
think he'll be all mammal uh recipient. And if I
were to take a defense, I'm going to take the
Steelers d I think this is the perfect week if

(01:18:09):
you're going to choose a defense on your fantasy team,
you'll score with With the Steelers defense, I think they'll
get some turnovers and and generate you some points, generating
some pressure. No doubt on Carson Wentz. Time to get
the fantasy Ninja's of the week, we got Deebo Samuel
I mentioned him going up against Miami, Jimmy g ties

(01:18:30):
in there, Levian Bell going up against Arizona, him getting activating,
like there's no reason to bring him back. You're gonna
be on thee. You think he's gonna be done just
that fast. I don't think a lot of people just laugh.
I shouted out there pretty quickly, and that was pretty good. Toot.
And the Fantasy Ninja of the week. This is your

(01:18:51):
fantasy play of the week. It's brought to you by Geico.
You know it's October. What does that mean? What's geicoen?
Of course, don't be spooked by high rates on car insurance.
Now geikoes brewing up spell binding savings that they're crafting
just for you. See how much you could say and
get a quote today at geiko dot com. And that
fantasy play of the day Daniel Jones against Dallas. Do

(01:19:15):
they win? No? But when you're down big, what happens?
You start flinging it. That's what Dak Prescott has been
a nice successful run for them. I think you see
some more of Ezekiel Elliott. As long as he holds
onto the ball's gonna start taping the ball to his arm.
But Daniel Jones the Act of Desperation or in their
daily Fantasy league. He ain't costume you much. So there's
an opportunity coming up next on Fox. In about five

(01:19:37):
minutes from now, you'll have the beginning of the pregame show.
You've got Chris at Thompson, Colin Coward and Company. And
then the one and only Fox NFL Sunday LaVar Game
six tonight Lakers Heat. Did the Lakers close it out
over tonight? Now? I want a Game seven? So that
might that be picking up my heart more than my
head because I want to see Jimmy Bucketts and twenty

(01:20:01):
dollar Coffee continue. Thanks for joining us, Weppos toe you
next week. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Ray Radio
