It's KMF I AM six forty andyou're listening to the Conway Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app Let's do awhip around. What the hell you know?
And the whip around is being broughtto you by Advance Hair one day
Treatment, life changing results. Makeyour appointment today Advanced Hair dot Com.

(00:23):
All right, here we go whiparound. We'll start with Steph Bouche.
We'll go on to Krozier and Angeland Bellio the whole run and maybe you
can play at home as well. Here's today's question. What does it cost
in jet fuel to fill up aseven forty seven? A seven forty seven?

(00:49):
Step boosh, Let's start with you, buddy. Eighty grand, eighty
thousand dollars? All right, crousoh, all go ten grand, ten
thousand, all right? It isbelly O here, she is here,
she is here, Belly oh,thirty five thousands, all right, Angel

(01:11):
for the steal, Let's go fiftyk fifty thousand dollars, all right,
step Bush wins. It's he getseighty thousand and the actual price. With
today's fuel prices, it costs aboutfour hundred and fifty thousand dollars to fillip

(01:32):
a Boeing seven forty seven. Bycontrast, the Gulf Stream costs about eight
thousand to fill up, so that'swhy prices are so high. Four hundred.
I couldn't believe that number. Fourhundred and fifty thousand dollars. How
are they making money? Now?I understand that, you know, you

(01:55):
don't have to fill the seven fortyseven up for every trip, but if
they're what is the maximum amount ofpeople? You can have three hundred people
on that plane, so you'd haveto charge everybody fifteen hundred bucks just to
fill that plane up. How arethe airlines making any money I don't know.
Yeah, that's a good question aboutyou know, they don't fill up

(02:15):
every time. It's like do howfar do they get it? They let
it go down, will they fillit back up? I think they There
is a rule of thumb, likea seven forty seven, if it's full
of fuel, it can take off, but it can't land full. That
could be a disaster, too heavyland full. So that's why they's like,
if there's an issue and they haveto land before they're supposed to,

(02:35):
they always done fuel be Yeah, yeah, yeah exactly. But I also
didn't realize this, but fuel costs. Jet fuel is only about a dollar
more than the gas that you andI put in our car. I know
it's very reasonably priced. But soI think they put enough gas, enough
fuel, enough jet fuel into thoseseven forty sevens to make the trip plus
maybe ten percent or twenty percent. And I can't imagine that it ever is

(03:00):
full. But it does cost fourhundred and fifty thousand dollars. And if
you were to fill up seven fortyseven you're gonna, you know, going
to France from La or whatever, and you had three hundred people on board,
that seems like a lot. Again, you would have to charge everybody
fifteen hundred dollars. And that's notincluding the wear and tear on the plane.
It's not including the gate, youknow, the money that they have

(03:23):
to pay to have it. Tohave the crew, you have to have
two crews. You have to havetwo pilots too, you know, head
pilots, two co pilots. Youhave to have a bunch of flight attendants.
I don't know how the airlines aremaking any money, and then they're
offering I don't know if you sawthis, but some airlines are offering twenty
thirty dollars trips from LA to Vegasand another you know you can go to

(03:46):
from LA to Florida for fifty bucks. I saw that deal the other day
on a h end's making any money, it's it's got to be a business
that they're losing money all the time. And maybe that's why the stop prices,
you know, are not doing well. I don't know, I don't
know. You know, Southwest Airlinesa long time ago when they first started,

(04:08):
and they probably still do this, but they used to purchase I think
fuel futures. It's all right, yeah, so they were always purchasing fuel
for less than all their competitors.Ah, I see, all right,
you're onto something. I think kindof that Angel man. She's sharper than
that. People give her a creditfor. All right, jet fuel.

(04:30):
Jet Blue speaking of gas and carryingaround, and they're now allowing Basic Economy
passengers to bring a carry on item. I never thought i'd see the good
news if you're taking Jet Blue thissummer. The airlines making big changes to
its carry on baggage policy. BasicEconomy ticket holders will soon be able to

(04:51):
bring a carry on bag in additionto their personal item. If space permits,
like the good old days, youcan bring stuff with you. Passengers
pre this previously had to pay moreto stow a carry on. The new
policy takes effect in September. Thechange now makes it makes United Airlines the
only major carrier that does not allowcarry on bags on basic economy tickets.

(05:13):
That sucks, all right. Wehave an iconic brewery that's closing. And
I know for a lot of people, you know, you're like, oh,
I never really go to breweries. That's not true. A lot of
people enjoy breweries. A lot ofpeople enjoyed, you know, going out,
hanging out with friends and getting hitin this brewery and it's closing.

(05:33):
It's been open for a long time. I think it's been fifteen years or
so. An Eagle Rock just downthe freeway and it's closed. That news
for fans of local craft beers. The Eagle Rock Brewery closing at the end
of the month. When it startedin everything's closing, got Arby's closing,
got the brewery closing, a pizzahuts are closing. When it started in
two thousand and nine, it wasone of just a few breweries in Los

(05:55):
Angeles. Business evolved during COVID,and while the pandemic is not the only
reason the brewer is closing, itis a large reason. Over the years,
the owner not only four focused onbeers, but also on building community
and partnering with many groups and organizations. We always approached it from the standpoint
that, you know, beer wasimportant to us, but not the only
thing, and it just became integratedinto daily life and it was something that

(06:21):
we would connect with people over whilewe were doing other things. You are
asked to stop buying, enjoy somefinal beers before the end of the month.
They closed at the end of themonth. The iconic brewery, the
Eagle Rock Brewery is closing for good. I can't stand all the crap that's
closing. And if they're not closing, they're getting robbed all the time.

(06:45):
Society has really broken down in California, and I think people feel it all
the time. I went last nightafter work, I drove straight to Del
Taco to take advantage of Taco Tuesdays. Oh I did do de Oh you
know where'd you go? Cafe Rios? Oh, Cafe Rio's great. The
salsa fresca, It's called fresk somethinglike that. So I go to Talk

(07:09):
Del Taco, and I'm used tospending a lot of time in line on
a Tuesday there because people go foryou know, three tacos for buck ninety
nine or whatever they are. Andso I get to Del Taco and there's
nobody in line in front of me, and I'm like, oh, they're
closed. Another restaurant closing. AndI order on the speaker and she was
very nice, sort of knows meby now, which is something I probably

(07:34):
should be ashamed of. But Iget my three tacos and I pull up
to the window and there's nobody atthe window either, there's nobody to drive
through, there's nobody speaker, there'snobody at the window, nobody, And
I think that is a potential problem. I think that people are staying home.

(07:55):
And if people don't have enough moneyto get three tacos for a dollar
ninety nine at Taco at seven fifteen, there's nobody in line, that is
a major red flag. Something's goingon with society. Maybe people are afraid
to go out. I don't knowwhat's going on, but it's breaking down

(08:16):
around us, and I think wecan see it, we can feel it.
Barbie's closing the brewery's closing, pizzahuts are closing. Something's going on,
and we got to figure it outquickly. We got to get back
to this like the good old days. Everybody had money, and everybody's buzzing
around. Everybody's enjoying themselves. AndI don't know what's going on, but

(08:37):
the only people will really get attentionnowadays any kind of cash or the homeless.
They build them apartments for six hundredthousand dollars each, and it would
be cheaper to give them a ferrariof roles and three ninths three years at
the Ritz Carlton. That would becheaper. What's going on with society?
I don't know. You're listening toTim Conway Junior on demand from KFI AM

(09:01):
last night, Drive Around, BuzzAround, listen to the Dodgers on five
seventy am. And I thought itwas over for the Dodgers. They go
to the ninth inning, top ofthe ninth inning in Colorado, down nine
to four, nine to four. That usually spells the end, but not
in Colorado. And now with thisDodger team, what an exciting I sat

(09:24):
in my car in the parking lotof Home Deep I listening to that eating
my del taco. Quite a nightI put together for myself, and I
also I was recording the game athome, so I got to go home
and watch it as well. Forthe Dodgers, they hit a grand slam
in the ninth inning. A grandslam in the ninth inning, which is

(09:45):
very difficult to do in any inning. But I think it was Hayward,
Yes, Heyward, grand slam inthe ninth inning. To get a little
bit closer, here's how it soundedlast night on five seventy am home me
your Dodger. Twenty six pitches Kenleyin this inning on the right handers to
two offer to Jason Hayward, hammeredthe right field. This ball is back,

(10:09):
this bone is gone off the foulball, A grand slam for Jay
hay a fourth career grand shard, and the Dodgers are within a run.
It's nine to eight, nine toeight, Oh, can you believe it?
Yes, Jason Hayward with a ninthpenning grand slam and the Dodgers just

(10:33):
one run behind, and O Tonycoming out. Okay, so Tany gets
up, he gets a single. Then they they threw Freddy Freeman on Freddy
Freeman. Now they just gave hima walk, they give him a pass,
and then three run homer. Ballgame in the balance, right here
to two, swung on hitting theair the right center field in DP.

(10:54):
This ball heading back. This ball'sgone, it's gone. It's gone.
We run home run to ask caron this and the Dodgers have come all
the way back to take the lead. Oh my goodness. This is a
Dodger World Series year when they nevergive up. And even the top of

(11:16):
the ninth when they're down by fiveruns, nine to four, they still
stuck in there and they won thatgame nine. They won eleven to nine.
What a game. Appreciate your optimismthere, Ah, unbelievable. You
listen on the way home now,I was, we were walking around and
we saw that that SpaceX flight.I saw that. Yeah cool. I

(11:39):
remember sending that to you, thinkingtimill appreciate this. And then yeah there
was when you posted as well online. I was at CarMax when that happened.
I was a buzz around still lookingfor a you know, a vehicle.
I like going to Carmacks looking fora car. Well, I think
I enjoy the hunt more than Ido the purchase. You know. But
the thing, the nice thing aboutcar Ma you can go look at different

(12:01):
cars without somebody hounding you on acar lot. So, oh you're talking
about like online? No, whenyou go there. Oh, you went
two carmacks and they don't have asalespeople walking around nobody. I've been to
carmacks one hundred times in my lifeand I've never ever been asked, you
know, can I help you orfollow you around or anything. You walk
around a lot, you stare attheir cars, and they don't care.

(12:22):
It's great, It's terrific. Igot to take me a trip to a
CarMax. That's exactly why I go. Wait, is that the one with
the glass tower where you can likeput a coin in? No, I
think that's a karmageddon or car onsomething like that. But you know,
there's one out near you. There'sone out near the six oh five and
the two ten freeway. Darde outthere I think Hindale area. Yep,

(12:46):
yep, yep, yep. That'sjust a little bit west of the six
oh five. The one I goto in burbank's a little smaller than that
one. The one out near youis much bigger, but you can just
walk around and you can look atcars. The price is right on them,
and nobody hounds you. Nobody stopsyou and says, hey, buddy,
what are you looking for? Hey, what can we get you into
today? You know? None ofthat? Her to a car Max.

(13:09):
Yeah, enjoy. That's the reasonI go. The reason I go is
that nobody bothers And you didn't seeanything, you say, I did see
some cars I like. Yeah,I saw a couple of cars. But
I go with her to see whatI like, and then I'll go to
you know, another car Max andsee what I like there. Well,
that's where I bought my my daughter. We bought her up a Honda.

(13:31):
When she gets a Honda, Idon't know, Civic or this one,
the Civic one. What was theother one, the Honda Accord? Yeah,
we got her used the Accord. And she loves it, man,
she absolutely loves it. First car, right, yep, very first car
and then it and the people atCarMax are great. They never bother you.

(13:52):
They make the deal easy. Ilove that car Max. I love
just walking around car backs. Youknow, it's looking at all the vehicles,
all the you know, the onesI can afford, Well, the
ones I cannot afford. They havesome cars that are like ninety thousand dollars
there, yeah, some some youknow, fairly new Porsche nine to eleven.
I was eighty five or ninety thousanddollars. They know it looks great.

(14:13):
Grab one of those. Can't slidein there yet? No, if
I keep working, keep working, maybe another ten fifteen years. The kids
about out the house, right youself? I know, but I don't want
to make payments. I want tojust be able to buy something. And
when I see a car that's like, you know, like fifteen thousand dollars,
I'm like, oh, I shouldget this. And then my wife's
like, Tim, that car isalready ten years old. When you come

(14:35):
home, it'll be ten years old. I'm like, I know, but
I'd like to spend the very littlemoney on car. Can you negotiate a
car Max? Or is the placethe price that's it? That's the price,
like the old saturns. Yep,you got to pay. But whatever
is on that window. So theonly downfall, the only one thing I
would I would say about Car Maxis they put the sticker in the window
and how what kind of car itis? How much miles or on how
many miles, how much the caris, and a quick description of the

(14:58):
car. But sometimes they always putit in the in the driver's side rear
window. But some cars are reallytinted and they still put it up there
and you can't see it. Youcannot see through that window and see that
price. That irritates me. Yes, that's the only thing that irritates me.

(15:18):
Ye, put it in the windshield, so you gotta do. Put
it on the dashboard, you know, put on the windshield, Put on
the dashboard, put it where Ican say it. Say that through those
tent windows. But that was greatto see. I was at CarMax looking
up and watching that rocket. Thecoolest part to me was seeing the to
the two rocket on the side theright. Oh yeah, you pointed that
out the other the the boosters off, and then those boosters kicked in as

(15:43):
they went out to the ocean toland. Yes, so cool man,
that was really a cool thing. And you know people saw it from Vegas.
Wow, it was It was soprominad with you know, the and
the and the light was just rightwhere it got up, you know,
ten thirty thousand feet and then thesunlight hit it complete these clear skyes.
Yeah, it was great. Itwas I think it's the first one I'd
ever seen. Oh live right,Yeah, yeah, it's it's when you

(16:07):
watch it, all I can thinkof is God, somebody went to school
longer than I did. Somebody didhomework more than I did. It's so
cool to see it going because Ididn't at first, I didn't realize that
there was even a launch. Andthen I saw it and I go,
wait, what is that Is that? It just a plane with the you
know, the stream behind Oh no, And then you could see it moving.
You know, it's not like it'syou know, it's not like where

(16:27):
it's like, Okay, you cankind of see it here, then you
see it there. No, youcan actually see it like make it with
its propulsion. It's so cool anda large tail behind it. Yeah,
it is really neat to see that. I really enjoy that. You're listening
to Tim Conway Junior on demand fromKFI AM six forty Hey. Tomorrow.

(16:48):
The Dodgers take on the Rockies inColorado Tomorrow. First pitch is at twelve
ten pm. Listen every play ofevery Dodger game on AM five seventy LA
Sports Live from the GALLUPI Motors broadcastbooth and stream all the games in HD
on the iHeartRadio app. Keywords AMfive seventy LA Sports. Yes, yes,

(17:14):
yes, get those Dodger games. Is a great season, great,
great season for the Dodgers. Allright. We have a brand new high
rise in downtown Los Angeles that isbuilt designed for homeless population and every unit
costs six hundred thousand dollars to puttogether. To find out some more considered

(17:37):
affordable housing, but the cost tobuild this type of a project, it
still adds up. Each unit costsnearly six hundred thousand dollars and it's being
funded by taxpayers. There are twohundred and seventy eight units in this nineteen
story development, known as the WinguardtTower. It's intended to help people currently
without shelter on skid row. Thiswill be LA's largest permanent port of housing

(18:00):
project. There is an entire floorof offices for caseworkers and the list of
amenities is pretty impressive. As youmentioned, there's a gym, an art
room, a music room, anda computer room and library. Wait wait
what an art room, a musicroom, and a computer room and library.
That sounds fancy. Man oh man, these guys and gowns. They
got a maid pretty impressive. Asyou mentioned, there's a gym, a

(18:22):
gym, all right, an artroom, an art room, an art
room. What what do we needan art room for an art room,
a music room and a music roomand an art room. Come on,
there's no music room or art roomin most apartments that you have. You
mean you live in a you know, an apartment it's you know, five

(18:48):
six seven, eight hundred square feet. You're paying two thousand dollars a month.
You don't have an art room. You have a music room going on,
computer room and library. A computerroom and a library. Man oh
man, sounds fancy. People livinghere will enjoy six common balconies and a
cafe. What fay a cafe insidethe apartment building? Cafe, a cafe,

(19:15):
computer room, music room, manoh man, I'd love to live
there. The one hundred and sixtyfive million dollar project is receiving permanent financing
Front Proposition HHH, which voters overwhelminglypassed in twenty sixteen. The new tower
is also receiving state housing funds andfifty six million in state tax credits.

(19:36):
This is really just the beginning thereare. There's more planned another tower more
than a year away, but it'sunder construction. All right, all right,
Well, there's sixty five thousand homelesspeople in LA and they spend what
one hundred and ninety million to puttogether one hundred and twenty seven apartments.

(20:00):
All right, all right, that'swhere we live. That's where we live.
Where they put all their money intoone building. Man, they could
have put a lot of buildings up. They could have bought a lot of
existing buildings for one hundred and ninetymillion dollars, but again mismanaged, like
a lot of things here in LosAngeles. And six hundred thousand dollars per

(20:23):
unit is astronomical. It's I mean, that's Beverly Hills style. You know,
if you build a condo a buildingin Beverly Hills, that's about you.
You're going to spend less than that. I think the going rate,
I think is four hundred thousand orthree fifty to four hundred thousand per unit.
But they spend six hundred thousand dollarsper unit that and it sounds fantastic.

(20:52):
I mean, it sounds like ifit was in you know, the
West Side or Century City that thosethat kind of building. Those things would
go for a million, million anda half dollars and nineteen stories, so
it's a fairly large, impressive building. Let's see, let's see what happens.
Man oh man, all right, this is a time of year.

(21:14):
I'm sure you heard it outside yourhouse. I hear it all the time
in Burbank, fireworks going off. It's all night, and it's in Burbank,
it's everywhere downtown Los Angeles, SouthLos Angeles, Irvine. Happens there
all the time. Huh yeah, the kids in the park, Yeah yeah,
I hear it all night long.Yeah, all night. And it's

(21:36):
gonna happen from now until July fourthor July tenth, and usually it usually
goes a couple of days after, you know, Independence Day, and it
seems to start earlier and earlier everysingle year. Do your dogs slip out?
Yes, Although I will say this, and I'm not just saying this,
Oh okay, sometimes you just saythat. Sometimes I just say stuff,

(21:57):
right, But this time I'm notjust saying okay. American Vision Windows
has helped tremendously. That's one hundredpercent true, and that is honest,
one hundred percent true. I've experiencedthe same thing. One hundred percent true.
Illegal fireworks everywhere. When we comeback, we'll discuss more. Oxnard
police confiscate a lot of them, over three thousand, so I don't know

(22:21):
where they're all coming from, butthey seem to be everywhere, and everybody's
got their mits on them. Everybody'sgot their hands on these illegal fireworks.
I'd love to have some. Idon't like to go outside and blow some
stuff off. I enjoy doing that. It's kind of find any I'm looking
the wrong place. I guess you'relistening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from
KFI AM six forty. I've beena Dodger fan since nineteen sixty nine.

(22:45):
Now's a young Dodger fan five sixyears old. Really enjoyed that team,
and I've been pulling for him eversince. And in all my years going
to Dodger games, I've never seenthis before. And maybe Bellio, maybe
you know the answer, Maybe youdon't. Maybe crows your nose or Angel
or stefooge. But the Los AngelesDodgers will play tomorrow in Colorado. I

(23:07):
think it's a noon start businessman special. I never understood that term businessmen are
working at noon. They're not goingto the ballpark. Never understood that.
Are they taking clients to see theOh that's possible. He never even thought
about that. Yeah, that's whyyou're here, Billio. Man, when
you get some sleep, you're assharp as they come. You really are.

(23:30):
Thank you. You're great. You'regreat. So the Dodgers are going
to play Colorado in Colorado tomorrow andthen they're going to come back and play
the Angels for two games. They'regoing to play Friday and Saturday, and
maybe David Masday. Maybe I gottext him because he knows everything about the
Dodgers. I've never seen this beforein my life. The Dodgers play Friday,

(23:56):
they play Saturday, and they haveSunday off. Have you ever seen
that bello where they played a teamon Friday, a team on Saturday,
and they don't play on Sunday. Not that I was aware of. No,
I've never seen that before. Inall the years going to Dodger games
or watching Major League Baseball, I'venever seen that schedule before. I've never
seen it. But they play theAngels on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.

(24:19):
Again, they play the Angels atDodgers Stadium on Saturday, and then from
what I can see from unless I'mnot reading the schedule right, they don't
play on Sunday. The Dodgers arenot playing on Sunday, and I don't
think the Angels are either. Bothlocal teams are in town and neither one

(24:40):
of her playing. Unless I'm readingit wrong, that's possible. That's quite
possible. I'm reading this schedule wrong, but I think I'm right. I'm
looking at the Sunday games. DiamondBacks are in Philly, the Braves are
at Yankee Stadium, Rays are playingin Pittsburgh, Red Sox will be traveling

(25:03):
to Cincinnati. The Mariners will beplaying the Marlins. White Sox and Tigers
go at It, Blue Jays andthe Cleveland Indians or Guardians wherever they're call
nowadays. Baltimore is in Houston, the Giants the San Francisco Giants are in
Saint Louis. The Royals will beplaying in Texas, playing the Rangers.
The Nationals will be at the Rockies, Twins will be playing the Athletics,

(25:27):
Mets will be in Chicago playing theCubs, and the Brewers will be down
here in San Diego playing the Padres. And the Angels and the Dodgers.
They're scheduled to play on Friday andSaturday, and not on Sunday. Both
vocal teams in town, no gamescheduled. I am, I'm going to

(25:48):
go out on a limb and saythat's the first time that that's happened in
Major League Baseball. I was readingsome comments on Reddit and somebody said it's
mainly because it's the Freeway Series, and since they play four games against the
Angels and Dodgers play four games tohome, two away, and with the
new balance schedule, there had tobe some weird days off. Okay,

(26:11):
I get that that doesn't make sense, but I'll buy them. But it's
weird that both teams in town andDodger Stadium and Angel Stadium are going to
be dark on Sunday, both teamsare in town and neither one are playing.
That's weird. It's the weirdest thingI've ever seen in sports, the

(26:33):
weirdest thing I've ever heard of insports, the weirdest by far by far.
All Right, fireworks going off, huge bust up an Oxnard of July
is still a few weeks away.Several so CAW law enforcement agencies have already
made illegal fireworks bust. These werefound when police in the San Bernan Din
area made a traffic stop. Thefireworks were confiscated and the people were issued

(26:56):
citations. Something similar happened last nightand off when they found a business and
a flea market selling ten different kindsof illegal fireworks. All fireworks are illegal
in Auxnard because they are explosives. Our biggest concern is obviously injury to anybody,
whether that be persons that are utilizingthem or persons that are just observing

(27:18):
them in the area. If they'renot done in the proper setting, proper
manner in safety measures, then whata debbie downer this lady is? Uh,
just always telling you what you can'tdo. There could be some definitely
some injury which has occurred in thepast. Also, yeah, a lot
of people could die, a lotof people could be maimed, a lot
of people could end up in wheelchairs. Is that is that enough enough?
Enough? Been enjoining themselves now?People caught with illegal fireworks could face a

(27:41):
hefty fine. Police resources will beadded as we get closer to July fourth
to help crack down on the problem. Is that is that wild? Though?
That the July fourth, our bignational holiday, is about two weeks
away. That crazy, How doesyear flying by? Man? Two weeks

(28:02):
away? What is today the nineteenth? Yeah, so yeah, about two
weeks away. I think it's exactlytwo weeks. I think it's Thursday,
two weeks from tomorrow. July fourthis around the quarter. Oh man,
oh man. I can't believe it. I cannot believe it. That is,

(28:23):
I can't get my hands on anyof these illegal fireworks. I'm a
big, huge fan of firecrackers andfireworks. I enjoy lighting them off.
I don't do it now because Ican't get my hands on any. But
everyone seems to have a connection, but me, are they Are they loud
in Clermont? Can you hear you? Definitely hear it? Yeah, yeah,

(28:45):
And we can see we can seefireworks usually from our backyard, so
yeah, we definitely hear it,like a week before and a week after.
Yeah, and then they have acouple of community ones in the area
that go off that. Oh let'sgo pay tickets for that. We can
see from my backyard too, Ohis that right? Yeah? Yeah,
what a life you guy. Yeah. Last year we realized that we had
that view when we sat in thejacuzzie and had a drink and watch fireworks.

(29:06):
It was the greatest thing. That'sgreat. Yeah, yeah, that's
