Speaker 2 (00:31):
The hot flashes start, the unexplained weaking, the mood up
and down. You feel like you're out of body. Does
that sound like you, Well, we're going to talk about
supplements versus HRT in managing those symptoms during perimenopause. Welcome
to Accelerated Health with Sarah Banta, the podcast that gets

(00:52):
straight to what works. I'm a certified nutritionist and the
founder of Accelerated Health Products. Here we cut through the
noise bring you the real strategies, powerful supplements, and natural
solutions that help you detox, boost energy, and balance your
body for optimal health. So let's jump in. Well, this

(01:14):
is a season of unpredictability. I was at a party
where I met these new women and literally within three minutes,
people were talking about they're ten pounds, they couldn't lose.
They came out of nowhere, the hot flashes. They'd get cold,
and then the flashes would come. They can't sleep, their
mood is off the charts. They don't even know who

(01:35):
they are anymore. And then I talked to another family
member and she says, literally, my husband thinks my cycle
is every ten minutes because he doesn't know which wife
he's going to get. That doesn't feel good. One day
you're energized and grounded, the next your mood crashes, your
sleep disappears, your clothes are tighter, and you haven't changed anything.

(02:00):
Many women describe it as literally feeling hijacked by their
own bodies, and that's what it can feel like. The
truth is, the transition isn't just about declining estrogen. It's
about how your liver, your thyroid and detox symptoms handle
those hormonal shifts, and whether they're supported or struggling. So,

(02:21):
if you went back two hundred years ago, women went
through menopause, but my guess is their symptoms were nothing
like what we experience today because the world has changed,
and that's unfortunate and it's not our fault. Some people
turn to hormone replacement therapy, and it's needed for a

(02:42):
lot of you women, but is it the first thing
you should reach for? My thought is, let's do all
the right things. It's just like if you're going to
go on a diet, don't reach for the weight loss
drug unless you're doing the food, doing the exercise, focusing
on your sleep, trying to manage your stress before you

(03:04):
get into a medication. And you need to balance any
HRT with the right supplements, the diet and exercise and lifestyle.
So I'm not here to say it's right for you
or it's wrong for you. That's a personal decision. What
I am here to say is, let's address the foundation first.

(03:29):
I was actually talking to my husband about this last
night and I said, look, if you're not going to
do this one thing, don't worry about the other stuff,
because that's like building a house without on quicksand without
the foundation. We need a foundation to build from. The
HRT would be the cherry on top, right, the cherry

(03:49):
on top of the Sunday. It's not the foundation. The
foundation is your lifestyle, your diet, and your supplements. So
that's where we're going to go from here. And maybe
don't need the HRT. Maybe you figure it out without it.
And as we're talking through these these symptoms and how
to regulate it. This goes for the teenage girls who

(04:12):
are having worsened PMS symptoms in my house included. We've
had to figure this out. And let me tell you,
one practitioner wanted to put her on progesterone and that
backfired because her liver was backed up and your liver
is where it metabolizes hormones, so it wouldn't even be

(04:32):
able to do anything with the progesterone. It actually made
her feel worse. And then if you are in the
fertility years and you're having trouble with your cycle or
PMS symptoms, then too, this applies to you. We're going
to talk about things to address. They're the same things
that you address during paramenopause and menopausal symptoms to make

(04:56):
it a much smoother transition. So that's where we target
supplements that come to support the liver, the thyroid, and
the adrenals. Your thyroids, your metabolism, and your adrenals are
working double hard during this perimenopause and menopausal years because
they've taken over the job from the ovaries that literally

(05:18):
die during this period to produce hormones. So not only
now do they have to deal with your stress, right
the stress of now having elderly parents that are only
getting worse to adult children, and adult children, bigger kids,
bigger problems than the little toddlers that only pooper eat right.

(05:39):
And then you've got the stressors of your body changing
the hormones, and maybe some financial issues or being an
employer employee. All of these things are coming at you,
and your adrenals are overtaxed, and you have chronic fatigue
and you don't know how to get your energy back,
and then the brain fog and you can't think straight.

(06:00):
You just don't want to get out of bed. That's
not the way to live. So today we're going to
dive deep into what's really happening during this period and
how certain supplements like idine, like taking care of your
liver and binding these toxins that are coming from these
estrogen mimicers in our environment, from these forever chemicals from

(06:24):
soy and some of the foods that were told are healthy,
they could be triggering an increase in estrogen or lowering progesterone,
and that gives you estrogen dominance, and it's not the
right kind of estrogen. I go into this a lot
on my podcast and in my articles with my expert
guests and on my own. So if this is a

(06:46):
topic that you just want to binge on, there's so
much for you at sarabiant to health dot com and
at Accelerated Health with saraband to the podcast. So make
sure you dive deep. I really dive deep into all
of these things. So what is really happening during menopause?
Estrogen no longer follows a predictable monthly rhythm. Sometimes it

(07:10):
surges too high, others times it drops too low. Progesterone
steadily declines as ovoli ovulation becomes less frequent, and this
creates estrogen dominance where estrogen outweighs progesterone, causing this hallmark
symptoms of perimenopause. Now this is worsened by all of

(07:31):
the increased estrogen environmental factors that are wreaking havoc on
this balance. So it's so much worse than our ancestors. Right,
and you've got iodine deficiency that makes things even worse.
You've got the endocrine disruptors that are making things worse.

(07:52):
Heavy metal toxicity, fluoride in the water, microplastics, you know,
the pfeas, the non stick pans that you're using you know,
I've got someone in my household that says, hey, I
don't understand why my testosteronees low, or you know, why
am I not getting forward movement? And they want me

(08:16):
to keep that one pan that has the Forever chemicals
in it because they think it works. That I go, well,
you're eating clean, but you're cooking in this that's worstening
the issues. So what are the symptoms to look out for?
Irregular or unpredictable cycles, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, anxiety, depression,

(08:37):
and on the hot flashes. I was talking to someone
a couple of days ago and she said, literally, I
will bundle myself up because I'm so cold, and then
within minutes I have to rip it off. I'm so anxious,
I'm so irritable, I don't want to talk to anyone,
I want to see anyone, and I'm so hot and bothered. Right,
you never had that when you were in your twenties

(08:59):
and thirties. That's something new. And then you get tired
and your metabolism just isn't working. You're not eating anything different,
you're not working out any differently, and the pounds just
keep coming on and you don't know where from, And
you look down and go, this is not my body.

(09:20):
What just happened? Vaginal dryness, discomfort during sex? There you go,
brain fog, forgetfulness, decrease, libido, you don't even want to
have sex. And then the weking and the weging usually
is around the midsection. That also is partly due to

(09:41):
cortisol and stress, because if your body thinks you're stressed,
doesn't know if you're stressed about your unexplained weight gain
or about you know, starving and being chased by a tiger.
You need to protect those expensive organs around your belly.
So that's where you want to actually pay attention to
your body decomposition, not just what the number is on

(10:03):
the scale. I use the body pod and I'll put
the link below. It is a game changer because it
shows me my muscle in my right arm versus my
left arm. Oh gosh, I need to actually lift heavier
on my left arm because it's weaker than my right.
Or where my fat is being distributed. Is it around
the belly or around the hips and the thighs, or

(10:24):
maybe on my back? You know, if you get fat
back here, that's an adrenal body type, right kind of
like football pads because you need to protect yourself and
then the belly, So you want to actually know where
you're gaining the fat and maintaining muscle mass. That is
so important during these years. It will help your metabolism

(10:46):
and it's something that's very very important as we get
older for us women especially so Estra genominance makes this
so much worse. So the liver is responsible for detoxing
old hormones. That's why if your liver is not working,
throwing HRT on it is could backfire. How many women

(11:10):
do you know who said I'm on HRT and I
felt worse, or that it took months for the doctor
to figure out how what my levels need to be.
It's not simple, it's tricky. Everyone's different, but the liver
has to process it. So my young child horrible PMS symptoms.

(11:32):
Doctor wants to put her on progesterone. Her appetite was zero.
Well doing the progesterone for literally two days, she didn't
even have the ability to drink water. She could not
eat food because her liver was making her so nauseous
because the hormones were backfired and they weren't doing her

(11:53):
any good. They weren't getting into the system. It's just
like the food you eat. It's not what you put
in your mouth, it's what your body can break down
and use that's important. It's not the hormones that you
put in your mouth, it's what your liver can do
with it. You have to address your liver to get

(12:15):
any results away from the hormones. You have to address
your liver to be able to break down fat and
use it for energy and burn fat. And you have
to be able to have a good liver to convert
your thyroid hormones into the active fat burning metabolism building hormones.

(12:36):
If you're on thyroid medication doesn't do you any good
if your liver can't do anything with it. You can't
build muscle with all that protein you're eating. If your
liver can't break it down into amino acids and repackage
it and build your muscles. You got to look at
your liver health. The liver is responsible for so many things.

(12:56):
To take care of that advil that you took for
the PMS symptoms, to take care of the medication, to
take care of all of the food you're eating, or
the toxins that you're taking in and that you're breathing in.
You know, you go to a restaurant. I'm going out
to dinner tonight, it's not organic. I'm going to be
taking extra liver care and I'm going to be taking

(13:18):
extra cellular detox powder. But I'm going to enjoy my
food and then I'm going to focus on clean eating
before and after. But you have to look at your
liver so when it's congested with the toxins are overloaded
with all the things we're talking about, and processed foods
are number one. I was at yoga this morning and

(13:40):
a man was asking our instructor what he should do
for weight loss, and she said, oh, you should do
a cleanse, a green juice, drinks and all of this stuff.
And he's like, well, yeah, you'd have to lock me
up to do all of that. And I looked at
him and I said, number one, get rid of the
processed foods. If it's a package, it's processed. Even if

(14:02):
it's an organic, low carb protein bar, it's processed. Stick
to real foods. That is step number one. That will
cause If you have the processed foods, they increase estrogen,
the bad estrogens in the body and then estrogen lingers
in circulation. If you're not pooping, you're recycling that estrogen

(14:25):
on top of the new estrogens that are coming in.
Then the thyroid can also be impacted. High estrogen raises
thyroid binding globulin, which traps thyroid hormones and slows the metabolism,
and this combination causes fatigue, bloating, irritability, weight gain that
won't budge. So you have to focus on the liver

(14:45):
and the thyroid. So when a lot of people say
I'm on a plateau, I'm on carnivore, I'm on a
keto diet, I exercise, I'm low carb, what I'm doing
all the things, and I'm on a plateau, I look
at the li and the thyroid. Those are the two
things because also, guess what happens in your liver sugar regulation,

(15:07):
insulin resistance. You could be on a low carb, no
carb ketogenic carnivore diet and have high blood sugar. Well,
that doesn't make sense. It does because as much as
I love my meat, and I eat a wild animal
meat protein diet mostly and a fill in with vegetables
for fun, but that's hard on your liver, Your liver's

(15:29):
got to process it. So you've got to give your
liver support. And your liver is where it regulates blood.
Sugar also regulates iron and iron metabolism iron iron. We
our bodies need iron, but not too much or we
rust from the inside out, and that can also trigger

(15:49):
a lot of these symptoms to be worse. So some
health risks during paramountopause that you want to think about
that unopposed estrichit Estrogen stimulate cell growth in breast and
uterine tissue. That's not good right, Breast cancer has gone up,
All cancers have gone up. You can also see declining
estrogen that can contribute to bone loss osteoporosis. Super important

(16:14):
to be lifting heavy weights for those bones. Cardiovascular health, well,
your cardiovascular health is connected to your thyroid. When your
thyroids sluggish, your heart hurts, right, so it may suffer
as estrogen's vascular protection goes down. Mood changes, I don't
have to talk to you about this one. It can

(16:37):
actually shift your serotonin and your GABA levels. Gabba calms
the brain down and then vaginal dryness. Urinary changes can
arise from thinning tissue and reduce lubrication. So these are
not inevitable. But let's talk more about that liver. So
every molecule of estrogen, progesterone, thyroid hormones passed through the

(16:59):
liver deactivates excess hormones and sends them out of the
body through bile and the intestines. That's why we have
to have healthy biole that comes from the liver, and
we need to poop every day two to three times
a day. You got to get the junk out. So
this is where accelerated liver care comes in. This has

(17:21):
been a game changer. I've done other liver supplements. None
of them really worked for me. Some of them backfire
because of ingredients in there, glued tothion, anac dandelin. Those
could be backfiring on your system. We need glue thion,
but we want our body to produce its own. If

(17:42):
you take a supplement glued to dethion, it has sulfur
in it. Sulfur could back up the liver, so take
note some liver supplements could backfire. Accelerated liver care helps
juvenate the liver function using synergistic herbs thirteen to be exact,
highly concentrated bouplearam philanthus. They support bile flow and hormone elimination.

(18:07):
Milk thistle promotes glute the glutathion, so your body actually
producing its more its own and reduces oxidative stress. Tugka
helps protect the liver mitochondria enhance that bileflow. Let me
tell you, when you start taking accelerated liver care, you're
gonna see things in the toilet you haven't seen before

(18:27):
because your body's getting rid of so much junk and
the toxins that have been backfiring and causing your hormones
to be worse than they have to be. Eclipta and
amincia calm inflammation and stagnation, so they get things flowing
a lot of PMS symptoms or cramps is stagnation as

(18:49):
they term it in Chinese medicine. So we get that
blood flow going. Tie black ginger and palperera. You haven't
heard of those, but it boosts the circulation and cellular
deffect so it actually can help with preventing more serious diseases,
chronic illnesses and the big sea. So the liver clears

(19:11):
the hormones more efficiently. Estrogen levels can rebalance progesterone. That
is your calm hormone and it will return, so the
symptoms will ease. But then you've got to look at
the thyroid. Everyone. I don't know many people that don't
have thyroid issues right now since the pandemic, since all

(19:32):
of these toxins are hitting our thyroid, dumbing us down.
Our thyroid is the bridge from the brain to the body.
So we have to have the thyroid working for good
mental health and good physical health. Idine deficiency, you need
that iodine for your thyroid is the number one cause
for depression, and it's the number one cause for mitochondrial failure,

(19:55):
so you've got to focus on that as well. But
if the liver is the detail commander, the thyroid is
your metabolic thermostat. And speaking of thermostat, take your temperature
in the morning. What is it normal? Is above one
hundred and ninety eight? Right? Most people are under ninety

(20:16):
eight in the morning. If you are your hypothyroid and
your thyroid is the master endokring gland, so it's controlling
your hormones. So it regulates your energy, temperature, mood, all
of which tend to fluctuate during menopause. Also is key
for that unexplained weight gain. As estrogen rises, thyroid hormones

(20:38):
can become less effective. And when that liver conversion from
T four, which is your inactive thyroid hormone, into T three,
your active thyroid hormone that happens in the liver, then
your mood and your metabolism will go down. Now, ninety
six percent of the United States is adine deficient, and

(20:58):
this is where people think, oh, iodines just for the
thyroide well, idines used by the endocrine system to regulate
estrogen production in both men and women, not just for women.
Here right now, without the adine, estrogen dominance will occur.
Like I said, ninety six percent of you are iodine deficient.

(21:19):
Idims used also to clean the blood so the liver
can do its job in producing estrogen binding protein. Idine
also helps break up fatty liver, and without it, your
fatty liver is going to go up. And over fifty
percent of you have fatty liver, and that's going to
make your liver not works. See how these things are connected.

(21:42):
So idine decreases estrogen in the receptor cells, which helps
reverse estrogen dominance. It also helps with fibroids, pcos, other
issues that are related to the hormone imbalances. You can
use it topically with the accelerated scalo castro oil well
over your fibroids, over your breast tissues or your lumps,

(22:05):
or over your cramps to get things flowing, lower the inflammation.
So this is where accelerating iodine comes in. It is
the only idine that I will ever touch. It's monoatomic.
It comes deep from the untouched by modern man source
in South America. Most idine comes from Asia that has

(22:28):
been contaminated by Fukushima and radioactivity. So you have to
know where your iodine's coming from and it goes into
all the cells throughout your body. So accelradine idine is
number one. And right there with it is that accelerated
liver care. So for more thyroid support, remember the medication,

(22:51):
even if it's thyroid medication or HRT, it's got to
be processed by the liver. It can backfire. A lot
of people say they're thyroid medication makes them worse. That's
where accelerated thyroid comes in. It supports the process of
boosting the thyroid through glandular adaptogens and minerals that help

(23:12):
increase metabolism, balance your mood, and improve your energy. It
displaces with the acceleratine idine, the halogens like the fluoride
and the bromine, the toxins that are slowing everything down,
making the imbalance of our hormones even worse. It helps
the detoxification at the cellular level, increasing atp and that's

(23:36):
where we want to kick out the toxins, but then
also feed our thyroid and our liver what it needs
to restore its health. Then we can feel better. Then
we can see where our body is and if it's
right for us to then incorporate HRT. But as we're detoxing,

(23:56):
we've got to soak things up with a binder, and
that's where the accelerated cellular detox comes in. Hormones cannot
balance in a toxic environment. Heavy metals, plastics, the xeno
estrogens that mimic the hormones clog the receptor sites. So
we want to soak up those toxins that are being
kicked out with the accelerated cellular detox. Powder clears these

(24:19):
interferences with the micro nyazeolite to bind the heavy metals,
activated charcoal to trap the toxins, reduce the bloating organic
triphila and slippery alm to sue that gut lining who
gets bloated when they eat every time? Or maybe you
just get bloated all the time, you wake up bloated.
This one's for you because it sues that gut lining

(24:40):
reduces inflammation and the chidasind in it captures excess fat
from your diet and cholesterol to get it out of
the body. Right, Okay, so what else can you add?
You want to make sure you're focusing on magnesium. It's
the calming mineral. It supports over three hundred enzigmatic processes

(25:02):
and helps regulate estrogen metabolism. So if you don't have
enough magnesium, which most people are deficient, you can have anxiety, insomnia, irritability.
So magnesium is also important for liver detoxification. And then
I love calcium deglucrate. So a lot of you are
using dim which is literally cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and

(25:26):
cauliflower compressed and compounded that could back up your liver.
I have an article and a podcast all about sulfur
on my website. Make sure you go read that these
sulfur healthy foods could backfire and back up your liver.
So nothing works so the dim actually could be making
you worse. Calcium deglucrate binds that excess estrogen, but down

(25:51):
in the get away from the liver, so it blocks
the enzyme that can reverse estrogen detox, preventing reabsorption and
helping with your hormones. You can also use and try
a wild down a progesterone cream. I have it at
Accelerated Health Products dot com. And this might be the

(26:11):
missing piece so that you don't have to necessarily go
to full HRT. It is natural, helps with hot flashes
and night sweats, relieves the breast tenderness and bloating, and
help may get you to where you need to go. Exercise.
All of this stuff means nothing if you're not moving
your body. Hit training, strength training, building the muscle. It's

(26:35):
not the chronic cardio that could actually make make your
hormones worse.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
I was at yoga today and there's a lady there
about my age, and she's going to go run a marathon.
Go for it, if for your mental space, but that
is going to be horrible for your your hormones and
you actually might gain some fat. And here you are
running twenty six point two miles. It can backfe at

(27:00):
our age, but you want to support that bone density,
the muscles absorb all those carbs that you want to
eat and can keep your blood sugar stable. Helps with
liver detox and it actually helps increase and boost the
good estrogen in your body. That hit training, the sprints,
the strength training right, but then you want to balance

(27:23):
that with walking, yoga, all of those things. Those are
really good. So which one's right for you? Supplements our HRT.
HRT is right for some people, but for everybody. You've
got to focus on supplements that cleanse the liver, boost
the thyroid, and help the body restore its normal level

(27:46):
of hormone. And then you can see where you are
and if you need the HRT you our diets don't
have the nutrition that they once had, and that's where
the supplements come in. So liver thyroid detox path ways,
and that's where accelerating idine, accelerated liver care, accelerated thyroid,
accelerated cellular detox, powder, key nutrients, wild animal protein. I

(28:11):
have the Accelerated Food Guide below great place to find
all of the foods that you love that are whole
natural foods that support the body and everyone's different. You
