Liam Lawson has been handed a five-second time penalty and has therefore lost his points finish from Formula One‘s Miami Grand Prix sprint race.

After qualifying 14th, Lawson looked to have finished seventh in the 18-lap affair, shortened by one lap due to rain over the Miami International Autodrome.

Sports Contributor Andrew Alderson talks to Ryan Bridge about the race.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Andrew Alison was sport. Good morning Greeting's right, I haven't
seen you in a while.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yeah, I just had the autumnal break.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Lovely nice way, nice, thanks very much, Roan. Hey, Warriors
are doing really well.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Oh is there a team in world sport that takes
you on a high and low and you know, troughs
and peaks more than the Warriors. I watched that game,
or at least the second half of it on the
weekend and against the Cowboys is the four point win,
but gee what they're up twenty eight to twelve at halftime,
I think, and you're cursing them one minute and cheering
them the next. That really is quite the ride. And

(00:33):
they got their end. Have moved now too well. They
would temporarily top of the table, but with the Bulldogs
winning again, so they've moved out sixteen points. So the
Warriors fourteenth and third on points differential.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Fantastic. We'll keep that up. Won't meet Lawson name Lawson
got some funny weeking for him too, But he will
start fifteen Miami.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
He will, of course the sprint race. The controversy there
Fernando Alonso the turn eleven, turn twelve, I think was
Lawson was a head and twelve, but he needed to
give a Lonzo room. So he's penalized and lost his
points in the sprint. But you will see what he
can do in the longer version today. But yeah, it's
a frustrating time it seems to be for Leam Lawson

(01:14):
just with racing balls and what they're doing. And I
mean I think if he was just able to get
some points that would really help his confidence and World
team's confidence, I think leading into the rest of the sea.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I see they were looking at taking swearing off the
off the hot marks because it's causing a bit of
a controversy.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Surely there's a way of AI to do this to
auto edit out. Yeah yeah, I mean who can argue
with it? I mean, if one's swearing to it would
be philly really chockol, wouldn't it.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
But it's stupid. If you want to get the nitty
gritty the inside, this is.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
What it is, what it all you're doing, absolutely and
the thing is that when you're driving at three out
of k's an hour and your life's on the line, Yeah,
a cursing here and there.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Is fire truck, no not quaking and cut it quacking
and cut it. Hey is ancient tong leading Mark Williams.
This is the Snooky in Sheffield.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Oh, this is always one of the highlights of my
year anyway on the bays at at the Crucible Theater
and it's come to the Klimax this morning. Ryan. So
we've got yeah, Jentao up against Williams. Course that he's
looking to become the first Chinese winner of the event.
And Williams he's already a three time champion, but he
would be the oldest winner at fifty and there's an

(02:31):
age gap of twenty two years there between the two
of them. But the best in the competition so far.
So we'll wait, you know, with great excitement to see
what happens there.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
We will look forward to your.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Starting again six the next phase of it. It goes
over two days, but best of thirty five frames. Yes,
so Jinta al is up by seven frames.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
To what brilliant Great to see you again, lovely doing
it all again next week Andrew.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
