(00:21):
It's time for today's Top three takeaways. Happy Furah Day,
Copany is for you. Mike Waltz, the signal app and
now that you win. An interesting turn of events that
we've seen over the past day, and I want to
walk you through this. You know, the former Florida congressman,

(00:41):
somebody that I'm known for a long time, great man,
truly great man. And what I brought you back in March,
the whole signal thing happened in the first place. I
went back to my notes when we had the developments
yesterday with Waltz and I literally ended the story that

(01:02):
I broke down for you by saying, this should be
the end of the story, but it won't be the
end of the story. I mentioned that there would be
shoes to drop here and hinted at Waltz being one
of those shoes in that particular story. And for the
reasons that came to fruition yesterday. So let me walk

(01:24):
you through this. Yeah, Waltz, he had himself a day.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Russia needs to come to the table. Both sides have
to want peace, both sides have to want to stop
the fighting, and we think there is still a deal
to be had.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
That was Mike Waltz about twenty two hours ago, just
doing his job NSA on Fox and Friends. Okay, so
Waltz started his day normal, completely normal yesterday. There's obviously

(02:01):
no indication that he was going to be out. If
he was going to be out yesterday heading into the day,
then you're not going to send him out there to
do media hits talking about real time strategy stuff in
the field. So walking you back to the signal story
and putting this all the pieces together for you, Now,

(02:23):
were they war plans?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
The war plans? No?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Was the original Atlantic story a nothing burger? As I
mentioned at the time, No, it wasn't. Was the mistake intentional?
I also mentioned literally the day after all this broken March, No,
it was not intentional. I made that declarative statement because
I know the man involved. So it's now been a
month and a half since National Security Advisor now former

(02:51):
Mike Waltz's national security team managed to add the Atlantics
Jeffrey Goldberg, ironically one of the Trump administration's biggest journo adversaries,
to a signal thread and the lead up to a
military attack on Iranian sponsored Hoothy terrorists on March fifteenth
been just over a month since Goldberg decided to come
forward with the link. Woods was interesting given the timing,

(03:14):
because why, for example, would he have waited for well
over a week before coming forward with his story. Well,
there's one reason for this, obviously, the guy, if he
was truly on the level, if he was really acting
in our country's best interest, would he not have immediately

(03:35):
responded Joel, I'm just curious. Let's say, I mean, at random, here,
you find yourself in a situation like this, like, holy crap,
I got like, you know, Rubyo here and we got
to heg Seth and we've got walked.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
So they're talking to him. What do you do with
that moment? I would I would quickly report it to
the powers that be. I would not keep quiet for Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
You're gonna say, I don't know what's going on here,
but obviously something I'm not moment on it.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Obviously I have no bad intentions, but who else might be?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
So that's the way you think. Yeah, And I think
that's a normal reaction, And I think I would actually
just in that thread I say, hey, guys, I am
getting this because for the same reason you're talking about,
I would want them to know right away, Hey, I
don't know what is going on here, but I should

(04:28):
not be a part of this, and.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Probably also back out of it because I don't want
to be because anything I'm not supposed to know.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
That's exactly right, right you. You don't want to entrap
yourself in something that could be bad. So, yeah, all
these things the Goldbird. Now he sat back. He sat
back for now one day, not two, not three, not four,
not five, not a week. He sat back for ten.
He sat back for ten. And did he come forward

(04:57):
in a discreet way to the administration. No, he came
forward in The Atlantic in his publication with the story.
Guy was never a hero. He was the same scumbag
journal turret he has always been. And the only reason
he sat back was because he was waiting, hoping that
there's somebody on the inside that was leaking to him.

(05:19):
And the reason that he came forward when he did,
was evidently at that by then he was convinced that
it really was a mistake that he was included, rather
than somebody that's going to keep looping him in to
leak information to him. Okay, there is no other explanation,
and anybody would tell you anything to the contrary is
lying through their teeth. Just that is it, period, end

(05:42):
of story. I mentioned it immediately when that happened. It
is absolute the case today, no doubt, no ifans or butts.
And this takes me to my second takeaway today. So
it was not something intentionally done to undermine the Trump administration.
And I just want to illustrate the point to you
again and by the illustration I provided to you originally

(06:03):
the whole war plan thing and what happened here. So
from the fully leaked signal thread posted by Goldberg and
The Atlantic, it read like this team update time now
eleven forty four Eastern time, whether it's favorable, just confirmed
to a sincom where a Gopher mission launch twelve to
fifteen Eastern time. F eighteen's launch first Strike Package thirteen

(06:26):
forty five trigger based F eighteen first Strike windows starts
target terrorist is at his known location, so should be
on time. Also, strike drones launch MQ nine's at fourteen
ten and again this is all military time here, So
that's two ten in the afternoon. More F eighteen's launch
second strike package fourteen fifteen strike drones on target. This

(06:50):
is when the first bombs will definitely drop, pending earlier
trigger based targets fifteen thirty six F eighteen second strike starts.
Also first C based tomahawks launch. Okay, so again, calling
those war plans was hilariously absurd for so many reasons.

(07:10):
You notice a few missing details there, actual locations, for example,
or who the targets are. So if these are war plans,
magine being sent into war. You're you're in the military,
You're some of these aviators here, You're you're flying an
F eighteen, and uh, that's the plan. Go get them guys?

(07:32):
Who them? Where there? I mean that, quite literally is
what we're talking about here. It is so intellectually insulting,
I mean, in just so condescending to any person with
the thinking brain to call these war plans. It obviously

(07:53):
was an operational update. Massive difference between an operational update
that does not include an any specifics about location or targets. Okay,
so that speaks to the level of classification and everything
else here. Now, when you take a look at some

(08:13):
of the excuses used early on, you know, some people
are on the right way saying, oh, but the Biden
administration put out guidance that the use of the signal
app was the best practice. That was probably the first
clue was not a good idea if your excuse is yeah,
but the Biden administration said, probably not a good go to.
So I don't buy that aspect of people who want

(08:35):
to use that excuse. And the important thing to know
is that had they used only official government channels, only
official government people with the right classifications would have been
able to be included. You not accidentally be able to
include Jeffrey Goldberg or or Joel for example.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
I don't know that.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
I don't think Joel has a signal account, but if
you did, no, that wouldn't accidentally be able to happen.
But I said, right along, Mike Waltz. I've known him
for years. The man is an incredible man. Army colonel,
decorated Green Beret, first class person, first class people that

(09:14):
always surrounded him, worked with his team for years just
the best of the best kind of people, and so
he wouldn't have gotten into DC in the role of
NSA and then suddenly surround himself with a bunch of idiots.
He did surround himself was at least one person who
screwed up royally though, massive mistake here. So anyway, what

(09:36):
change in this situation, Well, what changed in this situation
where I left off the story with you? Originally DC
Judge James bosburg there's a lawsuit that was filed in March,
not long after this happened, and the lawsuit was assigned
to DC Judge James Bosburg. I said at the time,

(09:58):
this should be the end of the story. But it's
not going to be the end of the story because
you're going to have fact finding and there's going to
be stuff that comes out. There will be shoes that drop.
What happened over the past week. You might have heard that,
like hey, Secretary of Defense Pete haig Seth, his family
was apparently in the signal action that you have some

(10:19):
of this fact finding and it's pulling out other stuff
communications that may be inappropriate in the signal app with
some of these officials that as that information was being
produced to the court. That is where something yesterday would
have been flagged because it's going to come up in
this case. And so that was what led to, Hey,
we got to get you out of here, you know,

(10:41):
sooner rather than later. And so that happened. But to
the extent that Mike Waltz is a good man and
that one of his staffers screwed up here, President Trump
gets it. And that's why so.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Major shakeup among the President's senior cadre with the reassignment
of the Netcial Security Advisor Michael Waltz. He's been nominated
to become the next UN Ambassador, ending a short but
turbulent run as the NSA, notably after that signal chat controversy.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Yeah, Kevin cork there. So just after two yesterday came
this Trump truth. He said, I'm pleased to announce that
I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next
United States Ambassador to the United Nations. From his time
in uniform, on the battlefield, in Congress and as my
National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put
our nation's interests first. I know he will do the
same in his new role and the Interim Secretary of

(11:32):
Steve Mark Arruvio will serve as National Security Advisor while
continuing his strong leadership at the State Department. Together, we
will continue to fight tirelessly to make America in the
world safe again. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
On that note, you had Vice President JD. Vans who
told Brett Bher there was at let go.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
He is being made ambassador to the United Nations, which
of course is a Senate confirmed position. I think you
can make a good argument that it's promotion.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, there you go. Can I me so a couple
things about this that are important. First of all, again
to the extent that something came out yesterday that the
administration had to get out ahead of by getting.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Waltz out of the situation.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
There's no way the a plan is to have Waltz
in the cabinet meeting as NSA the day before, put
him out there representing as National Security Advisor in the morning,
and then making your Secretary of State the interim NSA
after you let him go, because you there's nothing that
urgent about the nomination to the UN post yesterday, right

(12:33):
that tells you that there's more to the story. So
again I gave you what is there to the story.
Now as for the UN post, Look, there's no doubt
Walt's awesome UN ambassador. The question the issue here is
going to be we need Republicans in the Senate. Because
Waltz to become NSA, he did not need Senate confirmation

(12:58):
you do to the UN Ambassador role. So he's going
to have to go through and deal with all this
signal garbage and everything else to get to that post.
And so that's going to be the next thing is
making sure that there aren't weak needed Republicans that torpedo
this situation.
