Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's talk sport with the Adrian marriage. Hello, gooday, guys,
you're going. It's so good to have your back and
you're really up and about to which is incredibly surprising.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Today we've had three hours sleep between us.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Goode is the second days on his heart.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Wait till tomorrow show.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
It's good to see.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
If shaved your beard off to it was a shocker.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
I'm yet to do that. You know what I've got
the I've gone great too, So I don't know, Morgan Holiday,
do you thank you? Lisa? I reckon I could be
Sander by Christmas Day for sure?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Do you go for the pageant this year?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Like Jeff Perry wears a beard on the news. So
I'm thinking of asking Ray Kuker or Marina fused to
if I could read sport with the beard? Is anyone
of the See that's why I love you going on?
I reckon? Yeah, question.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
How to get a clause in your contract for that?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I don't know. That's the boss. I know I could
probably get away with it. Yeah. Sure you better talk
sport though, and cricket. Big game, big, big game today
for the Scorches, four thirty per time taking on the
Sydney thunder at the Sydney Showground. Massive game. If they
don't win this, they're basically out least gorgeous. Yeah, only

(01:31):
two games to go before finals.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Win about Steve Smith.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Still, yeah, he just went bang. But you know who
we're playing, Dave Warner. We're not happy about Dave Warner
knocks us out, so we've got to beat Dave Warner.
He's there. Captain where without Jie Richardson which you probably
heard on the news, Mitchie Marsh is being rested and
Josh English so fingers crossed the Scorches get it done

(02:00):
and then they can play their final home game and
get you know, play finals again.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
You say, if they don't win this, they're out. Yeah,
so why might be resting someone? No, they haven't resting
Mitch Marsh.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
For what Mitchie is well?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Injury prone, Yeah, he's sort of.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
He came back from the Test team and got a
Golden duck for the Scorches and it was sort of
like his mind. I explained this to us last week
about how when you have a baby. He's got this
beautiful new baby Olive, it changes your perspective on life.
And some people have fires them up because they want
to earn more money. And you know, I've got this
eight eighteen years that I've got to look after this

(02:38):
little kid, this beautiful little baby. Other ones that are
going well, think, you know what, I want to smell
the roses. I want to take it easy cricket. I
don't want to sort of be one hundred percent cricket
all the time.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Well I'm not sleeping.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yeah, and there's also that aspect as well. And you
do as there's no doubt. You adjust and he'll adjust.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
He's a great cricket because cricket takes you away from
your family for long periods of time.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Time. It's like playing football or something.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
We completely nailed at their least, That is exactly what
he's thinking. You know what, I want to go to Strilank.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I think we need barrows Aaron Hardy to make some runs. Yeah,
because he's such key.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
And he's struggling. And even the other opener as well. Alan.
So the women's actually actually went on went to mention
there's an amazing thing that happened in the other BBL
game on the weekend, the Adelaide Strikers. You see that Clessic.
So there's this guy, guy from Perth Liam Haskett. He
went his dad caught the Yeah, he's making his debut.

(03:31):
He's from Clamont, Netherlands, went to christ Church. He's bowling
for the Adelaide Strikers. He bowls one down and tonks him.
It was McSweeney actually, and his dad, Liam Haskeard's dad
in the crowd caught the ball on the six.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
That's weird without the price.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
At least Lloyd Haskett his dad. You know who Lloyd
is familiar. He played free Spur. There's a good player
for each birth and west Birth. The mouse is claiming
that he rang up Gilly and told him that really
now make the mouse. I got under Gilly and he
talked about it on Fox and I got about eighty

(04:12):
five texts from every East Perth bloke I know. So
well done too. Yeah, it never happened. It's never happened before.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
His wife didn't look too happy. Something going on there.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, yeah, I know there's been a lot of discussion
about that. I suppose if your son gets tommed for six, yeah,
I think, and your husband catches the ball. He got
a left it.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Said, I'm a bit of a hero.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
It wasn't.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
He didn't celebrate. He didn't celebrate. The women's ashes has started.
We've drawn drawn first blood, so to speak. Alisa Healy
produced a brilliant knock. Ash Gardener was great, Atlanta King
from w a bowl brilliantly. So what happens with the
women's ashes is you know, the men's ashes is like
all about test match cricket. Five tests series. With the

(05:00):
women there's t twenties, Odie eyes and one test match
some multi format ashes, if you know what I mean.
So we're two points aret, we're tuning up.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Why did they call it the ashes? I mean it's
not yeah, really the ashes?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Is that specific game because you play for the bird
ashes serious.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Of the bales when well, I suppose Yeah, it's a
good question. That's a bigger question. Smarter people than I
would struggle.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
With more time than we have. This morning we talked
about it. Las Summer didn't wear and it is a.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
It's a bit like Elise might ask me about tennis
and why the women only play three sets and the
men play five in the Australian Open and they both
get three million dollars if they win, men and women?
Should the women be playing five sets and the men
they could.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
I mean, they're professional, they could just super yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, but there's a discussion about that which I'm definitely
not going to count of worms there. So I wanted
to tell you about.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I don't want to tell you that.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Really the first day. So the person I think he's
going to win it in the women's drays is Arena
Sabalanka danced to Way to Victory last night. Since you
ain't Elena Dockits basically asked her to revisit her TikTok
dance matte. She knows she serves at two hundred and

(06:24):
fourteen kilometers now two hundred and fourteen kilometers per Now
she's a defending champ. She's going for a three peet.
I reckon it'll be her versus Coco Goff in the final.
That's my tip. Have you got some audio Daniel Medvedev there,
my friend, Because the other big talking point at the
Australian Open is that Andy Murray, who was a superstar himself. Lease,

(06:45):
he's now coaching Novak Djokovic and Andy two time grand
same winner Novak twenty five times, you know, twenty four
times the greatest ever. So there's a big theory as
to why he's doing it. John McEnroe said, look, he's
Andy obviously trying to learn or know that secrets and
come back and play against him because they're both the
same age thirty seven. This is that was a meccan

(07:08):
right the Americans. I love a conspiracy theory. But Daniel
Medvedev this is what he thought, this is what he reckons.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
It looks like the thing about coaching Novak is that
he's so strong that imagine he wins. We're like, is
it because of Andy or is it because it's Novak?
So I never know that it's a great partnership. I
think in terms of everything, in terms of even like
uh energy, like media wise, tennis wise, growing like tennis units.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Say it's great.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
It's like, imagine MESSI would become the coach of a
Christian Analdo.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Well, I think that their personalities complement each other.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
This would be good.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Mean back has the biggest personality on the planet, and
Andy Murray.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Is Andy Murray.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Give me a little Debbie Downer sometimes.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, I thought you were going to say they're both
half back flankers balances. Its what about that messy coaching?
It's like messy coaching Ronaldo. I love it. So four
Osi is in action yesterday they're all out, including Darius Savage,
Adam Walton, Today, Nick Kurrios, Jordan Thompson, the Nasi Kock

(08:23):
and Arcis Nick Curios. He's been copping it too because
he just loves, you know, teeing off on people. Andy
Roddick said that Nick is an influencer. He lives for clicks, likes,
hits on social media. He lives to be in the
comments section. Not a huge rap from Andy. I like Champion.

(08:45):
Do you like Nickos? That's right? Quickly some funny blokes
in tennis do you reckon? It's a difference, man, now
that Fedder has gone individual two of the real every
once we love? Yeah, who do we love now? Rafter
we used to love? Did love anyone? They're not that lovable.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Loved Layton hewartt So let's see what his son does. Yeah,
maybe maybe I could be the next generation of Hewett.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Yeah he got Nott.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
When the Scud did the show with the Cougars and
the kittens or whatever that show was called the dating show.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
That sounds right Scud Philippines.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
It doesn't sound right up.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Whatever it was called one of the only ones. He's awesome.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
I bet he did the Wildcats good winning Tassie one
five to seventy three. Coach says the best they've played
over four quarters. Bryce cott in twenty six points to halftime.
Then he just cruised, He just cruised through. Yeah, thirty two.
In the end, they've now won five out of six
on the road. They might be hitting their straps at
the right time. And just in this segment, I wanted

(09:50):
to end with the Perth glory. Let's hats off to
the glory. They played the league leaders at home, at
our at our grandy HbF parks and they beat them,
beat them, They beat the league leaders. So I reckon
beat Auckland. They're coming back. There's a young kid, eighteen
year old Jalen Pierman. He was the hero and may
have found one. So we don't glory, we don't all

(10:10):
the soccer fans in town. Now you know my love
of Angepasta Coogluk Tottenham's hot Spurs coach Ossie coach should
be re signed. Just a fantastic guy. And so you
know how the FA Cup is this weirds and it's
a brilliant competition because it's so weird. So all the
Premier League teams can be playing against teams five leagues

(10:32):
below them. So for example, Spurs last night we're playing Tamworth.
You're right, it was Tamworth has sounded like the country
music capital of Australia, but it's actually Tamworth, I don't know,
somewhere in England. And there's sixteenth in the National League.
So there's Premier League and there's the Championship, then there's
League One, then there's League Two, then there's National League.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
So they're welcome to Wrexham years ago, five leagues below.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
In the lead up to the match, some journalists said
to and how were your multimillion dollar players enjoy going
to a ground that has astro turf? They're playing on
astro turf and it's tiny, like there's like ten people
on one side of the ground. You know what I mean.
That's really the change rooms were like the per footy
clubs away rooms. It's so great. We're doing rene And

(11:24):
she said to him, we know you're used to it,
and oh you're not bad, you know, come from Australia.
Thanks very much, but what about your stars, you know,
your multi millionaires And he said some of these young
players of mine, they came from more humble beginnings than this.
He handled it so beautifully. Anyway, it turned out the
game had to go an extra time. It was nil
all full time and was going to be the biggest

(11:47):
boilover of all time. In extra time though, the Spur
scored three times including there was ann goal and two goals.
But they're playing against lease guys like a bricklayer, the
local bricklayer, you know, a part time rapper, a bartender.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
A part time rapper from Chadworth.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
The part time rapper nearly had the last laugh. So anyway,
they're going and they had to run the gauntlet to
all the Spurs stars. They got off their bus but
there's nowhere to drive underneath the stadium stadiama, so I
had to walk past all the fans and they were
just giving it to them. Then Worth, I don't know
if there was Banjo's or not, but they were giving

(12:29):
it and these superstars were going, what is going on?
What am I doing here? It was like us in
ninety two when we had to walk from them from
the Hilton down to the mcg and all the Geelong
fans are ripping into us. Langdon almost gotten a punch
up and it's had a skull of someone's beer. And anyway,
those were the day, and now I wanted to mention

(12:52):
just to cap off the day. Yes, there was a
brilliant moment yesterday I went into King's Park for the
National Road Race titles. Now, now I don't know if
you guys are into there's a lot of cyclists listening
at the moment, probably just had their rides and there
back in the car going to work. Stunning event. And
there was a boat called Luke Durbridge. All right, so

(13:13):
he's thirty one, so he's a veteran West Strains from
Greenmountain lives you know, from Wa from Perth.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
G you won't want to cycle up that hill.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yeah that's why. Sorry, a good CYCLI he's from greenmount
great to ride to school back of mad anyway, So
the races one hundred and seventy seven k's through King's Park, right,
so you know, spectacular and he did a breakaway and
he ended up on his own for seventy kilometers. For
seventy k's he had to stay out on his own.

(13:41):
The peloton sort of chased him, got a three minute
lead and then they came for him in the last
two laps. They were just about to get him. And
one of his teammates, Luke Plapp, who's the three time
CHAMPI he's won this event last three times. He broke
away from the peloton and helped helped Luke Durbridge get
and his back was given out and he's come. You know,
Malcolm Street. They went up. They went up that thirteen times.

(14:05):
You're kidding straight up thirteen times, right, so I can
imagine how tired they are. And he turns into Fraser.
You know Fraser Ab there, the main ab in Kingspark.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
You'd never be happy to.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Just on the level just once on that hill in
the city. Surf was enough, that's right.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
That kills you on the start of the city. To
do that just destroys you.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
When you get no fun and fun run.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Anyway. It turns in the Fraser Ab and his mate
Luke Plapp is beside him and could clearly take him.
Said mate, this is for you brother. As long as
you can get through, I'll make sure I'll hold him back.
And he just pushed as hard as he could cross
the line with his arms outstretched. You know where Fraser's
restaurant is his family's there, he's from w Waves. A

(14:50):
massive crowd Barras there, his kid's baby came out. It
was the most beautiful scene. I don't know if you
can google it up and have a look. He might
be on the news tonight. But just sens. Luke Derbridge
in Perth national champion seized the moment and his mate
Plat just plap, Luke Plap just letting him. He could
have taken it and he just let him go across

(15:12):
the line in first place.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Everyone.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
It was most.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
Beautiful, A big event because we were down the beach
the other day and we're driving along the sort of
city beach and they shut the road down to give
the boys a lane to ride him with the.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Last time in not having it in the east and yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
A huge he pinched it shutting roads through north Bridge
as well.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Yeah everywhere.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
What's your reaction when the roads are closed.

Speaker 6 (15:36):
I was fine with it because we got to go
on the other lane and I went, this is a
big event to shut it down.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
This is not a school event.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
You're you are a big person. As a wink. I
saw the wink.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
It was so good to have you for your cute
beard mate
