Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Fabulous Carpredos are Dave Gleason, Russell Morris, Jack Jones
and Raith this Earthwaite. They are playing at the Asta
Theater early in the New year January. Tend to be precise.
You can get your tickets through ticket Tech and you
can get your day right here, right now.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Good morning, mister.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Good morning. Hey guys, here going good yea, not too bad.
I'm standing out in the rain because I don't get
good reception in the house.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Oh right, it's great to talk to you guys from Wallas.
What a fabulous Kaprettos. Just loosely set list looks.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Like, well it'll be. We'll be picking and choosing the
best known songs from all of our sets. Obviously raised
from Thirsty Merk and Jack Jones from Southern Sons and
Russell Morris of Russell Morris fame. I mean, just to
be on stage with that guy is just a dream
come true. He's a true legend. And scaring the stage

(00:53):
with all those blokes an honor. Because when I got
the call, I was like, well I sit in. I
would just like to stick it like a sun.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I stop it.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Some bloke, some bloke from Newcastle's going to get up
as well.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
It sounds more like it's the missing link of it all.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Really, you had a bit more gripped to it. Yeah,
actually don't.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah, sorry, now you go back, you go well, Darvill brakwait.
Obviously I'm taking place and they are big shoes to film.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
You mentioned Russell Morris. He was here for telethon What
a Star and I haven't heard of course we know
the real thing. I haven't heard Sweet Sweet Love for years.
He did a brilliant version of that on the Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
He's one of a national treasure. Should be stuffed and mounted.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Now we're going to take care of that.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
And of course he's a great storyteller, so you know
this is what you watch for this great storytellers like yourself.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, that's great. And the fact that we're all we
all stay on stage the whole time we walk in
and on and off. It's we all stay on stage.
And I imagine there's going to be some banter and yes, yeah,
I'll be just soaking it up for the first couple
of shows to see where I sit, where I can
inject myself into the back round.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
If you, if you will, just rape show off with
a bit of Joe Satriani thrown in or anything right.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
That he is an absolute genie. Yeah. Yeah, he's going
over to tour with with Sammy Hago. I think later
on in the years been on the road with Satani
and now they're going in this supergroup. So yeah, it'll
be just so much fun to hear those guys go,
get there, get their chops out. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Really, you know, Sammy Hago hangs out with Michael Anthony,
the bass player from Van Halen, and they're all good
mates and they know party too. Hey, Dave, speaking of parties,
I saw you, guys. I saw the discrimmag Jets one
night at the beat Room at the Melbourne Hotel that
we're talking when All for One was the Hot Ozzy
album and it was going off. It was like a
dangerous kind of night, people banging into each other and
all the rest of it. But we've seen a few

(02:50):
stars and recent times get hit by things on stage.
Did you you ever copped anything in the in the
nogging while you're up there?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
No. I actually smashed into Grant's guitar time, but that
was self inflicted one time. I will I do remember.
I was because I was planing to Rabes back in
the day and they might have gone a bit too
long or put people off. Yeah, anyway, this guy spat
straight at me and I caught it, and I dive

(03:17):
into the crowd to have a fight with him, and
then he punched portholes and I was just like security, Yeah,
it was about to hit me. I kind of well
knew out and caught it, looked at it.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Rose No Ransworth that So you're fairbit of touring, I
guess next year. In the meantime, we've got Christmas. What
does a Gleason family Christmas detail? Just a bit of relaxing.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, this will be a nice relaxing one. I've been
away a lot this year. It's been a hectic year
in many different ways. But yeah, yeah, we'll have like
three weeks if over Chrissy and then we just kick
off January. I mean the Carprdo starts on the fourth
till the fourteenth of January, and then yeah, the jets

(04:11):
goes through till March. Yeah, it's pretty full on at
the moment, which is fantastic. But COVID is well and
truly in the rearview mirror for touring. That's great.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Absolutely place you've got a like, I'm sure you know
pretty well. His name's Peter Mobbs. Mobbs he was all
radio made of mine, from canber and from Geelong. Yeah,
he's obsessed with the Rolling Stones and even to this
day he's not working radio anymore, but he's obsessed with
the Stones and he loves merchandise. Have you got a
band that you like that with? Is anyone in rock
and roll that you're obsessed with that will?

Speaker 3 (04:41):
My true obsession was ac DC trying to collect rarities
and stuff like that, and I did find I was
in the States and this guy brought me a cassette
that was from a nightclub in Boston and the DJ
so that at the end of their set, the crowds
going wild. They said, walk up mostly nineteen seventy six

(05:02):
or seven, and the guys, guys, let's get it back on,
Let's get it back on. The whole crowd going yeah, Yeah,
it goes ac DC, Bunny Tyler and a C d C.
Funny time, Scott Scot the idiot. Yet I've got a

(05:25):
bunch of A d C memorabilia that did I love.
I'll tell you, I'll tell you multi played, multi played,
the Jets on the radios. We were ever played on
the radio. Mobs and Sweats, Yeah, they played us. So
we'm al get of gratitude forever.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Absolutely God.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Now the C d C singing turn around is going
to be in my head. No imagine touch time place
you knowing that that's sort of a theeal kind of
thing she had. I love the fabulous Topredos are the
AST Theater January ten, now with more Dave Gleason can't

(06:02):
wait to see it. Thanks for chatting, Dave.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
It's been a pleasure as always. Take care when I
get over.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
There, just be sure you go. Maybe we also have
a quiz on the way. Can you spell thistles?

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Wait for us?

Speaker 3 (06:14):
No, I can't even say it.
