Speaker 1 (00:04):
Yo when it's huge like Jars of the Pocket past Lot.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Gone ninety six air fans on West Coast Eagle Eliot
Yo for Perth Window and Door Replacement Company, give your
home and you lease on life with Perth Window and
Door Replacement Company, the number one name in the game.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
To book your free quote.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Serge per Window and Door. Good morning, Elliott, much morning.
How are you good?

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
He got to be pretty good with that smile.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Not too bad that yourself good?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Might a good win against the Sun's mate.

Speaker 5 (00:38):
Well done, Yeah, ten points after Stadium Friday Night Football
ninety seven to eighty seven. The Eagles trailed almost the
entire night though in a grueling physical clash. But you
had timed your run to perfection. It was all planned.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Yeah, totally totally for the excitement and the fans as well.
They jumped on I back in the last they're fantastah.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah. Even though there was thirty eight thousands, I.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Felt like I was so good, so good. So yeah, yeah,
reward for effort. We've played probably two or three games
now where we've put some consistent sort of games together.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Maybe the FREEO game we probably two and a half quarters,
but the Brisbone game were pretty consistent, so.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Reward for effort. Really.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
We played four good quarters on the weekend and we
came away with the win, which was good. We probably
cost ourselves a bit as well with our ball use
at times, but sons will probably say the same thing.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
So it's got a good midfield. It would have been
hard work all day. And they also they actually looked
shocked when they lost the game. I think they thought
they had in the bag for a while then.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it's when you've got a player
like Wits who's just so tall.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah and strong and yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
And strong too, and just parming it down to raw
andocent Flanders like they're some good players the top of
their draft.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Top players.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yeah, so yeah, yeah, it was good to be able
to nullify that and then be able to impact on
the scoreboard gone the other way as well. So yeah,
it's one of our focuses, obviously being contest and pressure
for the last couple of weeks. So it's glad that
we got the reward for hitting that.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
I don't know what you're training schedule, timetable regime, how
it works, but I would imagine that it's very nice
to win a Friday night game and just go sweet,
it's so good.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Yeah, it's so and then follow up with an eight
day break. Yeah oh yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
So we had Saturday Sunday off, which was just yeah, yeah, Sunday.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I was actually like, okay, I'm going to move around
some Sunday.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Yeah exactly, clean the house, made the lawn, made mum's lawn, like,
got some stuff done, which oh, well done.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Yeah. Well, if it was a Sunday game, you just
wouldn't be able to do that.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah yeah, yeah, And when you know there's work like
a game coming up, it's harder to get things done
in anticipation you're preparing.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah, exactly, exactly for.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
A footy club that had a great full forward and
Josh Kennedy and him going, and then what Jake Wodoman
has been through. Isn't it wonderful to know you can
get it down there and is a bloke he's going
to kick goals almost every time.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yeah, just about That's what we're trying.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
As deep as we can get the ball as possible,
because Jaki or Oscar even JD on the weekend I
thought played very well. So the deeper we can get
the ball to them the better. Obviously, it puts their
their opposition backs under a fair bit of pressure and
a lot of team d things where you know, if
you can break that wall and burst the bubble and

(03:33):
get through to the back of it and put their
backs under as much pressure as you can, then generally
those types of forwards with that amount of talent will
end up getting the job done.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
And then at ground level, you know, then we've got.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Liam and Tyrrell played very well on the weekend, I
thought as well, so you know, the minute we can
get the ball as deep as possible and put as
much pressure on as we can, it's easy to defend
defend behind as well. Most teams are on the same boat.
They want the same thing really, they want to play
front half football. But the deb you can get the ball,

(04:04):
it helps so much more to be able to do that.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
I feel like I've always I've heard a lot of
chat this year about young players, young players at the
Eagles and Jared Schofield selected seven players aged twenty or
under and that safe to say that did pay off.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Yeah it did. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
We've kept it very very simple the past couple of
weeks really so as said contest and pressure has been
one thing that we've been going after. And then yeah,
as much as we can keep that ball in our
forward half, the better.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
So yeah, yeah, there's a few small.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Things, but I guess when we're out there as well,
it's just about playing your role. So and I think
he's selected the players and the young kids based on
them playing their role in the waffle and coming up
and they're able to execute it on the weekend as well.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
So that was really good to see.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah, those faces make for a good selfie, mate, did
you say that?

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I saw them.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
I saw him taking the photo and I was like, oh,
do I get involved in this? And I was like, nah,
I'm too sore and so come boys as well too,
so too old. Yeah. I let him go and it
was good. And then there was Colie in the middle
of the Yeah, just Coli being coly.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Yeah, doing the little signal.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
It was the coach's first winners the coach.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Yeah. So I tried to miss out in the gator.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Really yeah right key mess.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yeah, pushed him into the well done not today, mate,
you missing out, which was silly. I should have kept
him there because I had this big scratch from harm
and I ended up getting this massive thing of gator
out of mama.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah, because that's isn't it.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Oh yeah, apparently it's fine in your eyes.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah well I got that too. I was scratching my
nose as well, So that fantastic.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, Harry Edwards can't take a trick. He finally gets
a win, and then but he got supped down right.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Oh yeah, poor buy eight losses and then yeah yeah,
and then you get your teammate. I think it was
with I was like, this streak is over, ye, so yeah, yeah,
boys don't miss.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
But that's that's part of the I've been in football club.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
There were a few injuries in the first quarter. Sam
Plannders and Waterman clashed heads. Ben King got a knock
on the head in a marking contest. Oscar Alan came
off with a sore finger. Is everyone okay?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah, everyone's okay. Good bit banged up, everyone's okay. We
got day breaks. That's all right. It makes all patch
up and go again.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Just one on your nose, a new one.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Yeah yeah, I got scratched up nose, neck, Just should
make them netle.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Yeah, well you.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Think you'd actually think the check yeah, but like I
remember it, juniors, they check you nails.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Yeah, so arms will come around and check them.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Oh yes, but yeah, for some reason at league level
they don't do it.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Someone's out there looking nails like sh Carri Richards.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Wo Yeah I know who it was. I'm not pointing finger.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Throwing your nails for next time.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Uh No, definitely.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Not, definitely not unless it wasn't a liberatory. You wore
the old jumper. When I say old, I mean retro,
and you got to hear the old club song.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
But I guess it was good to hear any fantastic
YEA loved it.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Run out to it was.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
You'realist like the retro jumper and the retro.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Song I am. I loved.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
I love the retro jumper. I think we should bring
that back. I didn't like the old logo. Oh yeah,
I just I just think it. Whether it's nostalgic or whatever,
I just yeah, I'm a traditionist.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Ye bring the classics to bring it back.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yeah, bring it back. I actually enjoy the darker color
as well.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Obviously we've been we've had some very very good times
in the Royal Blue, but.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
The darker car. I love the darker color.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah, I think, well we've been we've played quite well
with the darker color this year, so I think we yeah, maybe, yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
We'll guess who's going to Tasmania now it's Australian team.
Oh sure, Yeah, to play North Melbourne on Saturday and
hope but bounced down as eleven forty five our time.
It's you know, it's always a tough trip to Tazzy
because it's a long way it is.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Yeah, and then two weeks time we're playing in Juan exactly.
We've got a home game.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Oh well yeah, yeah, that's that between exactly, yeah, exactly. So, yeah,
a couple of games ago, and we're obviously focusing on
a few things, you know, hopefully we can finish a
year off. But yeah, it obviously starts this week in
Tazzy and uh, you know, North got the better of
us last time at home, so hopefully we can do the.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Same pretty good in patches the last couple of months.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
We've just got talent.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
They've just got so much talent over the past couple
of years, through a draft and yeah, a few other
things as well. They've just got talent everywhere.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Actually, you mentioned that Wits the influence of the big fella.
What about Maddie Flynn? How's he going? Because I think, yeah, okay, yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Think just because of his because of how things have
unfolded and his injuries and stuff like that, I think
they're just trying to build him up now, okay, so
and build him up the right way instead of just
thrown him in the deep end going from there. So yeah, yeah,
But in saying that, though, Cherry for them has.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Been playing very very well, very well. So yeah, yeah,
we'll see.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
What about Tom Eras he missed Friday because of concussion.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Will he be at this stage? Yeah? Yeah, at this stage,
I think it.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
Looks like everyone's on board. Yes, yeah. Did you hear
the news this morning Dustin Martin retired competitive You would
have some Dustin stories to tell around the campfire.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yeah, I would, but they're probably not my stories.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
But look, he doesn't say doesn't talk when you're playing
on him because.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
He did silent.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yeah, he did the guard.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
That's Gove's story, and that's a funny story.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
And I don't want to I don't want to take.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Gon and ask him that. Yeah, but at a sports night, yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Well exactly, But that's that's Gud's story. That's a funny story.
But even when I sat next to him at an
all Australian dinner and just it was like drawing blood
out of stuff.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Really yeah, how are you going?

Speaker 4 (10:10):
And it's like yeah too chatty, no, no, but like
a nice guy.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
It just comes across as like a real inch of it. Yeah, okay,
so fair enough, you know what I mean. But nice fellow.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Every now and then he does a media interview and
you go, Dusty's talking, Yeah listen.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Yeah, I think I had Dusty and Basher Hooley, yes,
the same year, and it was yeah, yeah, bash is
a good fella.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, chatty yeah, personality.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Yeah yeah, chat and then Tusty next versus yea quiet.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
But to play on the man, he's a freak. Yeah
he's a freak.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Yeah, absolute free. So yeah, it's sad the same go
but nothing. You know, we're all kitting old.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
The tiger's on the bottom of the ladder. Mate, it's changed.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
Your fans seem to be quite keen for Jared Schofield
to stay.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Yeah, I've noticed that this way. Yeah yeah, they're jumping
on board all right. Yeah yeah, well yeah, absolutely, I
get on. I think we've had a chat about this,
maybe a couple of weeks ago. I get on pretty well, Scuy,
so despite the gatorade incident. Yeah yeah, yeah, so no,
but he did promise that if we won that his
missus would make some mint s laice. He did follow

(11:20):
through with that, So hopefully we can get a few
more games under the belt and we can get a
few more mint slices.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Tripp to Tazzy A bit easier to have.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Sure, well, he got it checked, he got it checked
with the Yeah, with the nutrition yesterday and then yesterday
I was wondering why.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
We had soup for lunch. Yehs last coming in So.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Yeah, yeah, measuring your food.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
That's good suit though, But.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Yeah, a meal, especially if it's followed by mint slases.
I prefer a mint slice to Tim Tam. Crazy people
about Tim TAM's right there that I'm on that bus.
You really much prefer mint slice.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Just don't want to dunk the mint slice into the.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Soup. Yeah, no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
I'll do yes, really yes every time.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
But then I like my chocolate to be chocolate and
I like my biscuit to be a short bread.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Okay, yeah, you're a traditionalist.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
I am a traditionalists. I'm fussy all right.
