But he was so much more than that, and good
mate he went. He knew how much I loved the
band Steely Dan, and when Steely Dan finally toured Australia,
Dino went and lined up or waited outside. I think
it was the charity or one of the hotels in
the city for hours so he could get my favorite album,
Gaucho Side. I didn't ask him to do it. Do
it my favorite album Gaucho. He got Donald Fagan and

Walter Becker, who were pretty reclusive kind of blokes, and
they scribbled in front of this album for me. It's
in my office. It's framed in my office now and
we've lost Dean Kelch into that bastard cancer.

and see that, I go, what a gesture. That was

next to us, and after he finished, he gave us

Many years ago, there was a lady catching the bus
at the same stop as me on a regular basis,
and one morning came clear that she'd forgotten her purse. Yeah,
I had no money to get on the bus, no ticket.
I happened to have too, so I lent her mind,
got her on the bus on a regular basisues the
rest of that ticket, and we ended up sitting together
on the way into the city every day, and as

a result, we became very good friends and ended up
with a job opportunity at the workplace I worked. She
wanted a career change, and she ended up working with
me for a couple of years.

Well, I had a random act of kindness to me. Yes,
a few years ago. Now, I had a little minute
to colleague little Shelby. Yeah, he was very old and
on a weekend he's back end collapsed, and I thought, oh,
I'm going to have to take him to the.

VAT on Monday.

I know it's gonna you have to do that, make
that decision. And but I was only working casual at
the time, and I'm thinking, how do I get the
money to do this? So I put a closet up
in one of the groups I was in on Facebook
and suggestions what can I do? And everyone said, oh,
you could do center pay and all this. So I

organized all that and I got right took the dog
the next on the Monday with my daughter and.

Yeah, I did what I had to do.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Yeah. And I went back about two weeks later and
I said, look, I haven't taken any money out of
my bank to pay for this. I don't know what's happened.
And they said, well, your bill's paid, and I said,
what do you mean? And a nurse from the VET
had put some money in. A lady who was a
surgery when we actually took him in put the money in.

That Facebook in my group got together and they paid
my whole bill. O.

I let an older couple go ahead of me at
the checkout, as they had less items than me. The
guy in front of them proceeded to put their items
through and paid for their shopping, and the couple was
shocked and teary and thankful, and it made me feel
good for days. Then we've got a text a little

later from Brian and Naranda who says, I like to
pay for some senior shopping at Coals every week because
it's expensive these days, and to see them counting the
cost in the checkout line, I wish I could do more.
I wonder if Brian is the guy that.

seen my disappointment, Like the ones I want aren't there,
and I mean they're vegetarian and vegan and chicken ones

in there. I was late, and I knew I was

late last Friday forgetting them because after lunch they're always gone,
the good ones, and she actually put to a side
for us without I just did that, so it was
just awesome. I can't believe it.

just like winning an Olympic gold medal or something, you
know what I mean.

Yeah, well thanks for having me on the station, guys,
I hope you're having a great day. So I went
to Bali earlier this year. It's my first trip to Bali.

I was down at true To Beach and there's a
really lovely ladies who was massaged my beat every day,
and I booked her up at five pm and asked
her about her family and her life. She used to
work in hospitality, but during COVID she lost her employment
and was really struggling. And she's got a few boys

aged from nine to sixteen, or I think one could
be a little bit younger as well. And she said
that her son would like to go to university, so
she tries to save up a few dollars every day.
And before I left, I said, look, I've had a
bit of a think I would like to sponsor your
son in university, and so I do. So he's finishing

high school this year, but I've already started sponsoring and
he was able to buy a laptop for his birthday
a few weeks ago that he would need for university's
and he's planning to go into it. So I'm really
happy that I can hopefully try and break the cycle
(09:59):
of poverty in the family to get something through university.
And then I'll see if I'm able to get be
able to help a range to break him out here
at some stage where he graduates in four years. So
you know, I'm not sure. It's a bit down the track.

over over me and paid paid for his card twenty bucks.
I think I just turned around, gave him a big
