Speaker 1 (00:10):
I heard podcasts here more mix one or two point
three podcasts, playlists and listen live on the free iHeart.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
App Okay one topic heads ahead Haley Peerson, Max Burford
with sixty seconds on the clock to debate this and
Adelaide ways in and adjudicates today's topic.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
You should never date anyone with kids affirmative.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Max Perfor Haley Peers, It's a difficult one for me
to argue without sounding like a bad guy, But I'm
going to do it because as much as I know
everyone's going to call in and say this is the
right thing to do, there will be people out there
that definitely think this.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
And Adelaide remember for your adjudication going the running for
a ninja slushy with five hundred bucks.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
MAXI. Your time starts now.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
People are going to act like you are a monster
if you turn down a date because the other person
has kids, they'll look down on you from their high
horse like you've just kicked a puppy.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
But can we be honest for a second.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Dating someone with kids is not dating one person, it's
dating their entire schedule. You're not competing with other singles
for attention. You're competing with footy training school pickups. A
seven year old who refuses to eat anything that isn't
beige because they're a little selfish pig. People will say,
just give it a chance, mate. Sure, I'm gonna do
that right now in my imagination, Oh great, I'm freezing.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Swimming lessons are at six am.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I'm cheering on a kid that looks at me like
I just date the last piece of cake in the
fridge because he hates me. That's not romance, that's a
hostage situation. Look, I respect the parents' parents are heroes.
Dating with a six year old anchor must be very,
very tough at times.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
But you know who else? I respect me?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
And if it makes me a selfish pig, because the
biggest commitment that I want to make early in a
relationship is deciding whether to share my Netflix password at
her house or not, then oink oink, I'm a selfish pig.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Free selfish pigs, next level mate, All right, I actually
believe in what I'm about to say.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Okay, she never dated anyone with kids? Negative, Haley Piers
in your time starts.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Now, Dating someone with kids is the best. They have empathy,
they're selfless, they know how to share snacks and compromise
on TV shows, negotiate with tiny dick, and survive on
two hours sleep. And what about the attract attractiveness factor?
A great dad is the single hottest thing a man
can do. That's way more attractive than a hot pod
or a handsome face. Plus, you'll never be his number one,

(02:21):
and that's a good thing. It means he's not a
stage five clinger. He's too busy packing lunchboxes to text
you forty seven times a day like a stalker. They're loyal, responsible,
and immune to drama. They've seen worse tantrums than you'll
ever throw. You can even crap yourself in front of
him and he won't even judge you.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
He's seen it all before.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Because someone who loves their kids will know exactly how
to love you. You selfish peace, seconds left. I write
a twenty second debate.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
You know that There wasn't a part of your debate
where you said it's good to date men who have
kids because it means you can pull yourself in front
of them.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Yeah, they don't judge you. They've seen it all. Is
it a common occurrence?

Speaker 4 (03:03):
No, But they're just they're used to seeing the most
horrific things.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Just nice to know you've got the option. You've got
the option if you really.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
You have to.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
If it happens, sometimes it happens anyway thirty one two three.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Some people have very staunch rules around not doing this
or doing this.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
And it's hard if you're single and you've got kids
and you're trying to find you know.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
The love of your life. You know what, they come first.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
They will always be your number one.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I understand thirty one O two three. If you've been
through this before.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
If you are on my side of the debate and
you want to be anonymous because you don't want to
come across as a bit of a bad person, that's cool.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Do that, But we still need to vote

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
