Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, cut what's on the cutting room floor today? Munch?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I want to ask you if you've ever been burgled.
And I'm not asking if you've been burglarized, because that's
no such word. And I know you like to say
someone was wearing a burgular cap. It's a burglar cap.
But that aside, have you ever been burgled?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I'm very security conscious. Yeah, yeah, I've got like a
man traps is your door like Maxwell? Smoke locks on locks,
I've got nails, I've got flame throwers. And yet your
wife leaves the garage door open. That does drive me crazy.
Although we've got a house. Now, we've got two garages,
so I don't give a rats about her garage. It

(00:50):
doesn't lead into the house. Someone wants to steal some
weed feed, fine, what weed feed? Weed killer? I don't know.
Whatever the junk she keeps in her garage and some
ancient gold car throwing her own stash, then fine, But
my garage is like Fort Knocks.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Well, the reason I ask is that it'd be a
horrendous thing to be burgled, yes, terrifying, But what about
what happened here? This man broke into a woman's house,
He hung up her washing and left her a glass
of wine. He sorted through her laundry load embarrassing. I
wonder if he separated the colors from the white. He
left her a glass of wine and wrote a note

(01:26):
after breaking into her house. His name is Damien, and
if you want to look him up, please do because
I'd liked him to come to my house watching miss
Miyoshi polish name. He broke into a house after she
left for work and started doing household chores. First of all,
he cooked himself a meal. Then he helped himself to wine.
He hung out the laundry, and he wrote a note saying,
don't worry, be happy, eat up and scratch.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
What does that mean?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
He also topped up the garden bird feeder and rearranged
her pop plant.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
What's with that? What's with that?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
The prosecutor has said this is a very unusual burglary.
There's been consumption of food and alcohol. The victim spoke
to her neighbor who said she'd seen someone hanging the
washing on the line. So he also cleaned flaws. He
emptied a recycling bin, He put away shopping, rearranged household
items before making a getaway. And what's really interesting is

(02:16):
he struck again? Two weeks later a similar burglary. He
went to the victim's summer house. He washed the person's
clothes a man's clothes, waited for them to dry before
eating the householder's food. The victim had security cameras fitted
and they were watching the burglary unfold on this phone,
but he was stuck in traffic. They contacted a family member,

(02:38):
who confronted the defendant and asked him to leave, and
then contacted police. He was arrested two counts of burglary.
But does that mean he had to have stolen something?
It probably ate their food. I think.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Stole food.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Yeah, And so this is a man, it's not Paula
Duncan got a call from mister Fry. Tell you what
if you're going to get burgled, be burgled by someone
like that.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I'd like to be burg by like that.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Puts your shopping away, does your washing pause you? A
glass of wine, takes out the recycling.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yeah. I don't know what's in it for him. Maybe
just gets off on being nice.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well, maybe maybe he gets off on just being in
a home. Maybe he lives in a place where he
doesn't have access to those sort of amenities. We can
do your washing and sort your stuff. Maybe he likes
being cozy.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
The fear of being burgled is a terrible fear. Do
you feel that.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
No, I don't, and maybe I should. My mum got
burgled a couple of times to the point where she
found it almost liberating in a sad way, that she
stopped thinking that things mattered because she lost a few
good things that have been stolen.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
They steal.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
See, I was younger, so I wasn't living at home,
But now I'd like to know what all those and
wonder whether they had emotional attachment to Mum. But in
the end, when she would go out, she would either
the people who do this they put all their jewelry
in the freezer, or Mum would put her hand bag
inside the washing machine with towels on top of it
and someone found it.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Really, apparently that's a very common thing to do.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Inside the job unless all my dad or Cameron, how
would they find a washing machine unless it was this
burglar who was trying to do the Washington found a
handbag for.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah, I put my jewels in the fridge once shrunk
and right up. Hey, hey, that's it for today. Tomorrow
for more of a joint and an
